Parks, Nature and Beaches

Enjoy hikes, birdwatching, sea bathing, swimming, snorkelling and watersports all at your doorstep in lovely Tobago.
The rainforest is the oldest legally protected forest reserve, established in 1776. There are many trails you can take, but even if you walk the same trail twice, it will never be the same experience. The rainforest is home to an abundance of birds and other wildlife such as snakes, crabs and fish. There are many hidden waterfalls that are a beauty to behold. It is best to go hiking with a guide. One wrong turn and you can end up down at Bloody Bay! We can recommend a great guide if you would like to go!

This is one of our favourite beaches for snorkeling and sunsets. It's about 10 mins from the apartment. We have seen a wide variety of sea life here including the stunning Parrot Fish, French Angels, moray eels, and many types of coral. The sunset here is beautiful, but be sure to leave once it gets dark! The sandflies come out quickly!

In walking distance from the apartment is this little nature getaway. Eden's door has a couple signposted fitness trails that you can hike on without a guide.

Sightseeing

The views of the island and the sea from this iconic fort are stunning at both day and night (although you wouldn't want to go too late at night or without a group). The historic buildings and cannons have been extremely well preserved and one even houses a little museum.

Essentials

Supermarkets, pharmacies, etc.
There are surely small local grocery type shops in the area, but this is a larger supermarket. It is 20 mins from the apartment and is located on the Milford Road as you make your way to Bon Accord.

Shopping

There are some cute little boutiques on Pigeon Point Beach, just as you enter. You can get many beautiful local and handmade souvenirs here. Two favourites are a little shop that sells (among other things) batik pants and sarongs (so beautiful!), as well as a shop called Planet Ceramics. The handmade ceramics sold there make unique and stunning souvenirs. $20 TTD admission for this private beach.

Cultural and party experiences

Want to enjoy local culture and party in Tobago? Then you need to attend Sunday School in Buccoo. In no way religious, this is a wonderful and exhilarating street party. Dance to the notes of steelpan music (the pan is a musical instrument invented in Trinidad), soca, reggae, dancehall. The party starts at 8.00 p.m. every Sunday evening but really gets into high gear at around 11.00 p.m. The party is 16 minutes drive from Le Caprice, Tobago.

Neighborhoods

This lovely and interesting neighbourhood is home to Black Rock Beach which is located just beneath Fort Bennet. It is also home to some great restaurants including the following: 1. The Fishpot, which is located on the Grafton Road and is well known for its Caribbean seafoods cuisine. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. 2. The Seahorse Restaurant, located on the Old Grafton Beach Road., serves local, Caribbean and international cuisine. It provides a most beautiful view of the sea in a lovely setting and the food and service are both superb. 3. Edge of the Reef is another excellent seafood restaurant on the Old Grafton Road. 4. Waves sits on the water's edge opposite the Seahorse Inn and Restaurant. The view is stunning. The food is great and tasty and the setting has been described as very romantic.
