Glasgow institution. Has been there for as long as anyone can remember! Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or even just a coffee. For a drink, coffee, or food, their top floor bar is also a hidden gem.

Hands down the best pizza in Glasgow! The first sourdough pizza restaurant in Glasgow and still the best. They dont accept bookings so be prepared to wait for a seat (regardless of what day or time you turn up!). Queues are usually very quick though and service is super efficient. Also extremely reasonably priced.

Glasgow's premier Rock'n'Roll dive bar! At ground level but is located under 2 old railway arches. Steeped in music, the walls are adorned with classic album covers from the 60s through to the present day, and has regular live music too. For football fans, on match days it is full of Celtic fans, which is great if you are a Celtic fan! Maybe best avoided on those days if you are not.

Undoubtedly the most important and iconic music venue in Scotland steeped in history, and one of the most celebrated in the UK. Every band loves to play the Barrowlands and the amazing sound in the venue is only eclipsed by the atmosphere the famous Glasgow audiences create. Well worth trying to take in a show while you are in town if you are a music fan. Only a short walk from the apartment. Go via the park between London Road and Gallowgate to see an installation by world renowned Glaswegian artist, Jim Lambie, entitled "The Barrowland Park Album Pathway" where coloured stones on the pathway represent many of the famous performances the Barrowlands has staged over the years.
