If you're going to visit the Daintree, make sure you go all the way to Cape Tribulation. Named by Captain James Cook in 1770, Cape 'Trib' has spectacular beaches and landscapes which is totally unspoiled and serene.

There's plenty of companies offering day trips out to the Great Barrier Reef. We like Quicksilver and have used them on a number of occasions. Leaving from Port Douglas, they will transport you out to the reef for a day of snorkeling and other marine activities.
