National Cycle Route 26 is excellent for cycling and walking.
You can cycle from Rhodyate Farm down the countrty lanes to the cycle route. Turn left out the top of Rhodyate Farm. Then take your first left down Max Mills Lane, at the end of Max Mills Lane, then turn left onto Barton Road. At the end of Barton Road, turn left onto Church Road before quickly turning right onto The Lynch. Follow this road until you reach the brisge that crosses the strawberry line - you will need to cycle/walk over the bridge and down the other side you will turn right into the local football club. You can access the strawbery line from the access point in the football club car park.
Alternatively, you could park your car in the football club car park and walk/cycle from there.
Cheddar is an excellent desitnation to cycle to, with beautiful views and plenty of places to stop for food before cycling home. Most of the route to Cheddar is road/traffic free, however, there are some parts of the route that require road/pavement cycling. It is about 4/5 miles and mostly flat, but with a couple of short but steep hills.
It is possible to take the route to Yatton. There is a small cafe serving refreshements here.
A good flat 60 minute out and back walk along the strawberry line that would be good for pushchairs or to let your dog off their lead, begins at the football club carpark. Head in the direction of Yatton. Walking for about 30 minutes will bring you to Sandford and the Sandford Station Railway Heritage Centre.
