Spectacular views of the city from the viewing floor up top. Great restaurant as well that slowly circulates as you sit and eat.

Neighbourhoods

One of the oldest, most established, upscale and friendly inner city neighborhoods that Calgary has. Known for being a great place to live which is why I chose it only a year ago for my own family when the opportunity arose. You will see walking groups throughout the day as well as pet owners walking their pets. Many, many walk and bike in this neighborhood. Very, very quiet neighborhood but sometimes you hear the STARS helicopter which just means a life is being saved. Literally the best views of the city are 3 min away (walking). Canmore is 45 min. Banff 60 min. C-train is less than a 5 min drive and the train takes you almost anywhere in the city. It’s just close to everything. Malls and restaurants all within 5 min driving. We have a school and playground just down the street from our home, a massive field and tennis courts as well.

City advice

Getting around

SIRI will take you to the best routes in Calgary.

Calgary is made up of a few major roadways. Deerfoot Trail, Crowchild Trail, Ring Road, Centre Street, 16th Ave (Trans Cda HWY) so getting around is usually pretty smooth.
Don't miss

Best Restaurants

There is hardly a restaurant we haven’t eaten at having lived in Calgary all our lives. Here are our personal TOP ones to share with you: Major Tom, Japanese Village, Villa Firenze (Italian), The Keg (classic!), Charcut, Modern Steak and Kinjo. We also know the best donair place (just ask us). For DESSERT it is Village Ice Cream or Made by Marcus Ice Cream. BREAKFAST: Reds, OEB or Monki
Getting around

You can almost always find parking in Calgary! …..

But if you’re heading to the Stampede grounds - you are far better off taking the C-train. Even if it means catching an Uber or city bus to the train station although there are many train stations that you can park at. Otherwise you will lose too much time just getting down there, parking and walking a long distance and leaving will be worse. :). A quick online search finds you all the Calgary bus routes as well. We have a very well established transit system!
