Hythe is a great pedestrian town, has lots of local amenities including a bakery, takeaway, fish and chip shop, wine bar, pubs, shops, restaurants, cafes, a cobbler and traditional vegetable grocers.
Some say it has the best kebab house on the south coast!
There is also a waitrose and lidl for a bigger shop and a boots pharmacy.

There is a yacht club on the water front and a public footpath from there to the village of Eling which is good for a dog walk. A couple of country pubs and small shopping precinct along with the C of E church. Marchwood is a bit more industrial but still has its charm.
