A scoop on the local area and why this is the perfect location for your stay in Glasgow
Just 2 miles from Glasgow city centre, and at the heart of the increasingly acclaimed 'new east end' of Glasgow, Parkhead is perfectly located to enjoy the benefits of the 2014 Commonwealth Games regeneration efforts. Apart from the beautiful Athletes village and the fantastic new multi-purpose Emirates sports arena, a host of new modern residential developments have since entered this area, including Belvedere village and The Pyrus to name a few. The influx of young families and professionals have seen businesses respond positively with brands such as Aldi, Starbucks, Burger King, Greggs, and The Gym finding their spots in the conveniently located Forge retail park which already hosts established household names like Tesco extra, M&S outlet, Poundstretcher and Argos. The Forge shopping centre and the Forge market next door to this all make this area a dream come true for residents shopping needs. Corner shops, cafés, takeaways and other convenieces are constantly popping up along the high streets of Gallowgate, Parkhead cross, and London road, all of which have regular bus services that go into the city centre in under 20 minutes.

Great for a mini nature walk with scenic riverside view. Also has a decent bike trail. The climbing boulders are great too.
