Located in the heart of Aiken, South Carolina, the Hitchcock Woods is one of the largest urban forests in the nation. With 2,100 acres of forestland and 70 miles of sandy trails, the Woods are a haven for hikers, equestrians, dog walkers, runners, bird watchers and nature lovers and history buffs.
Boyd Pond Park, often referred to as Aiken County's hidden Jewel, is located at 340 Boyd Pond Road in Aiken, SC. Boyd Pond is known for its 30-acre pond, but also has softball fields, a soccer complex, 2-mile hiking trail, multiple mountain bike trails, fishing pier, boardwalk, boat ramp, multiple rent-able picnic shelters, outdoor basketball court, sand volleyball court, playground and observatory. In 2016, an 18-hole disc golf course was added to the former Par 3 golf course area. The course features turf tee pads, practice basket, picnic area, and a course designed for all skill levels of play. Picnic Tables, benches, and grills are spread throughout the park, which offer great views of Boyd Pond and the beautiful natural environment around it.
