A short drive up the river takes you to a beautiful suspension bridge over Rock Creek. The overhead view of the river is stunning. If you are adventurous the hike out Welcome Creek Trail is a great hike. You have to cross Welcome Creek, either by wading across or finding a log to cross on.

Spectacular views and wildflowers in the right seasons. The start of the trail is tricky to find, but it is there! Just to the north of the large parking area. It is steep to start but the views are worth the effort. It mellows out to a mild steady climb in no time.

Just across the street is Brewster Creek rd. If you drive up it about 3.5 miles, just before it gets super rough/steep, you will find a parking area. Walk a bit further up Brewster and look for the old road that goes slightly to the right and down to the creek to find an old mining cabin.

Brewster Creek RoadJust across the street is Brewster Creek rd. If you drive up it about 3.5 miles, just before it gets super rough/steep, you will find a parking area. Walk a bit further up Brewster and look for the old road that goes slightly to the right and down to the creek to find an old mining cabin.

If you follow the river downstream from the house to where Brewster Creek comes in the beaver pond is very pretty and kids can generally catch a fish or two in it. It is 1/2 mile flat stroll from the house to the pond.

Day drive of scenery to a great brewery
A spectacular drive up Rock Creek Rd with wildlife and views galore is not a bad way to spend a day, then turn left once you get back to pavement and find your way to the charming town of Philipsburg. There is a cool ghost town up there to see as well, Granite Ghost town. Head home on the pavement to make a big beautiful scenic loop.

If you are extra brave or adventurous, wade across Rock Creek from the house to find old trails in the Welcome Creek Wilderness. (Sawmill ridge trail 178 is my favorite) OnX hunting app is your best bet to find the trails, they are steep but pretty amazing views and solitude.

Challenging hike with rewarding views. Must be fit! Go right across the street from the house and find your way up the mountain side on the goat trails. You will be challenged many points along the way, you will be trailblazing for the most part! A solid work out with some cool views.
