You can not visit Brooklyn without having a slice or 3 of NY pizza, and Lucali has been in the top 3 Best nationally on everyone's list & #1 in Bklyn. 575 Henry Street in Carroll Gardens, 1.6 mi from the apt., you can then walk it off and see the sights.
If in Little Italy NYC, Lombardi's Pizza is worth visiting too, as it was America's first Pizzeria, since 1905. (4.4 mi)

A favorite breakfast eatery for locals and world travelers alike. Again, when in NY you just have to have (at least one) an authentic hand rolled NY bagel, made fresh on a daily basis from here. (5 short blocks away)

City advice
Getting around
Subways are the fastest and cheapest way to get around.
the 'R' train is the closest local stop, with express trains into Manhattan 1 stop away at Atlantic Avenue.
Ways to save
Check for days when museums and other places are free.
NY has so much to see and do, it's best to check on line before you come, so you have somewhat of a plan.
What to pack
Definitely have comfortable shoes, this is a walking city.
Even just walking the streets to see the architecture is an event in itself.
