Sporting Event

Fun place to take in a hockey game or just tour the International Guts Frisbee Hall of Fame. The Calumet Colosseum, a structure built in 1913 that is regarded as the oldest continually used rink in North America, and continues to serve as a point of pride in this hockey-crazed community.

Neighborhoods

Take a tour of Historic Downtown Calumet, visit the museum, have a great cup of coffee or just shop. Our favorite is the Taffy at The Mercantile, the great items at Copper World, great food at Cafe Rosetta and a cup of coffee at Keweenaw Coffee Works. Check out any events that may be taking place during your visit (pasty fest, Santa Visits, Christmas Tree lighting and Horse-drawn wagon rides, and lots, lots more!

If you are hungry and want to sit down and eat in Downtown Houghton this is a great spot. They have good wings, great Den Burger with homemade chips. If you love beets the beet burger with goat cheese and pickled onions is delicious.

Amy J's makes a great pasty (sliced potato rather than cubed), but also has other baked goods. Baked goods are always different, but you may find a Finnish tart that is one of the best!
