THE BEST breakfast around. This place is only open until 3pm, so it only serves breakfast and lunch. Gets very crowded on the weekend, but it's HUGE so the line moves relatively quickly.

Adorable and historic diner with super amazing service and food. My daughter likes this place because it looks like something out of the Flintstones, but built in the 60's. Love it!

This is our closest beach (10-15 minutes in the car). GREAT for sunset walks (also access to bike trail). Not the cleanest of the beaches for a day's worth of swimming, so we can make other recommendations for those days. Also wonderful b/c they have LOADS of firepits for evening bonfires.

If we're going downtown for a large event and don't want to pay for expensive parking, we drive and park (for free) at this metro station.
They just opened this line to go to Santa Monica beach pier as well if you go the opposite direction.
