Food Scene

I have lived in Apollo Bay for 28 years and I think this is, without a doubt, the best restaurant in town. It has an Italian cuisine, the food is stunning and the owners and staff are charming.

Icaro is something different for Apollo Bay. It offers mostly vegetarian or vegan cuisine and many healthy delicious options. The coffee is SUPERB. The space inside is mostly shared, around a large central table. There is plenty of outdoor dining space on tables on the wide grassed nature strip. Icaro is has a welcoming vibe, good to table share if you are on your own. I sometimes love to choose something different to eat (I am not vegetarian) and I have loved everything that I have tried!

Delicious mixed Asian cuisine to dine in or take away. The restaurant is cute and funky and the food is great. This is a good place to eat if you are late back from the beach. They tend to stay open quite late.

A 'new kid on the block' in the bakery scene, Little Crumb is a boutique bakery. The pastries and cakes are made with love and skill, the pies are to die for and there is a great selection of warm breakfast and lunch options - sandwiches, toasties and burrito style wraps. I love this place......oh, and the coffee is great too!

City/town information

A small place, a quiet place, a place of beautiful nature - ocean, mountains, rainforests, waterfalls. Yep, that's your host, Fiona, checking out the harbour from the air.

Sightseeing

A unique walk in the Otway rainforest, on suspension bridges at canopy height, high above the forest floor. There is also a zip line if you like things to be exciting!

My favourite walks

A secret copse of planted Sequoia trees, on Binns Road not very far from Apollo Bay, near Hopetoun Falls. Spectacular place for a walk and a picnic.
