City advice

Getting around

ferry outing to Isla Mujeres

take bus to Playa Tortuga (12 pesos Oct 2019), get off and head to ULTRAMAR booth (on right side of Playa Tortugas), Do not talk to driver who will try to convince you to take old rickety slow boat on left side.... You want to take the yellow/dark blue boat, not the white one
Getting around

The best cheapest way of getting to Playa del Carmen

Go downtown with bus, get off across from ADO station, take a white minivan called Playa del Carmen (preferably Express), cost 40 pesos Jan 2019, repeat in reverse
Ways to save

save money with food

Prepare your own meals, pack sandwiches, bring drinks along on excursions Buy tacos/tamales in convenience stores
Getting around

Isla Mujeres if you have a car

Drive to Gran Puerto, park car in covered, secure parking, hop on ferry to Isla (also costs less here)
What to pack

Bring beach towels

We don't provide these, however if you can't bring any or forgot them, my manager may rent you some, let us know prior to your trip PACK sunscreen, Aloe Vera, hats, glasses those cost lots there
Getting around

Airport transport

We use Happy Shuttle Cancun (pre-book) for 2 way private van transfer. They also have a shared service (stops at various resorts). If on a budget and traveling light, take the ADO bus to downtown then either take any bus on Tulum avenue marked (Playas) or Westin Hotel, get off at Coral Negro artisan market and cross boulevard, or simply take a cab (for 140 pesos) to resort. For getting back to airport a cab will cost you about 35 USD.
