Places to stay in Yosemite Valley
New construction, 650 sq feet. Clean, comfortable, safe and charming. Perfect size for two people to spread out and enjoy lots of space. King bed, full kitchen, well appointed. Inside park gates in premium location. Lower level of a duplex home. Great reviews!
Planning a romantic getaway to Yosemite? Lucky you! With stunning vistas and wild beauty, few places kindle romance like Yosemite. Of course, you'll want accommodations to match, and our two-person Serenity Suite offers what few places in Yosemite can—a luxury home that's private and peaceful. It's the perfect setting to create lasting memories together. Located at 5,500 feet, this area offers the closest lodging to the Badger Pass Ski and alpine adventure area. Located inside the park gate, in the Yosemite West neighborhood, Serenity Suite is approximately 20-30 minutes from popular attractions, including the Valley floor and its breathtaking waterfalls, Glacier Point, and Wawona with its golf course. It sure beats driving over two hours from one of the gateway cities! Serenity Suite is new and you can feel the care that went into every detail. As you can see in our pictures, the living area and bedroom are connected. In fact, the whole suite boasts an open floor plan and extra high ceilings that both make the space feel bigger than it is. Outside you'll find a huge covered deck with a barbecue. The home is fully equipped - towels, linens, dishes, cookware. You only need to bring yourself, your food/drink, and a good time! We are sorry - there is no TV service or reliable cell phone service in this area or at our home. We do have internet with WiFi (see other section for internet limitations). We have a video library. Serenity Suite is located below our other rental (Royal Retreat, for parties up to 4 people). All of your space is separate and private including your parking area, entrance and deck. The entrance to the suite is down an 18-step stairway which is extra wide to make it easy to get luggage in and out. PLEASE NOTE: because this is a lower unit, you will hear footfall and other sounds of occupancy coming from the unit above. Please expect this. We built the home with soundproofing and all our guests have been satisfied. This home comfortably sleeps two people. When we occasionally allow three people we provide an air mattress and/or portable crib. We welcome children but they must be booked as "children" if they are 6 months or older so that they can be charged, or let us know you are bringing one infant under 6 months old and it will be no charge. Rates listed already include the local 11% tax.
Our neighborhood, Yosemite West is special. It sits high above the elevation of Yosemite Valley and provides a quiet and peaceful escape. When its hot below, or jam packed with tourists, I feel great relief when I arrive in Yosemite West. Birds are chirping and we regularly see wildlife in our neighborhood, including deer, coyote and bears. Its peaceful, yet inside the park gates and close to all the best spots to visit.
  • Amazing location, beautifully decorated. Cannot recommend enough. Fantastic rental!

  • Gorgeous home with a very well thought out hoteling experience and wonderfully stocked kitchen!!

  • We had an amazing stay at Holly and Jeff's beautiful suite. It is even better than it appears in the pictures... so spacious, perfectly clean, super comfortable with all the amenities one might need. The location is fantastic - easy access to the valley and spots like Glacier Point. I've been going to Yosemite for many, many years, and this is the best accommodation I've stayed at in the area. Holly and Jeff are super helpful, responsive, and gracious. I can't wait to come back!

    Allegra2014-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Holly and Jeff's home is simply beautiful It is immaculate, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable. My partner and I both loved the large windows that allowed us to see all the beautiful trees we were surrounded by. It was too cold to sit on the deck, but we hope to come back in the summer and hang out and BBQ on that deck. The kitchen had everything we needed. While we couldn't hear people's voices, we could hear them walking and running upstairs. We appreciated the forewarning from the website. The house is conveniently located near Yosemite Valley, which made it very easy to go back and forth throughout our short time there. The reservation process was straightforward and easy, and Holly was extremely kind and helpful with all the random questions I had prior to our trip. Thank you, Holly! We hope to rent from Holly and Jeff in the future as they clearly know how to provide a beautiful and welcoming experience.

  • Loved Holly & Jeff's home and its beautiful private setting. The house was clean, comfortable and contained everything we could have wished for. (We were also lucky enough to have a deer visit us at the front door)! Never personally met the hosts (we were provided with a code to enter the house) but Holly and Jeff were wonderfully hospitable over email and the phone. They also did us a huge favor by shifting our stay by a day when I realized (pretty late in the game) that I had made a clumsy mistake and booked everything a day early. Two things we realized when we were there that might help future guests: - 1) the house is hard to find in the dark because GPS's tend to get slightly lost. And the road into Yosemite is very windy which can be nerve-wracking at night (we were first time visitors so we were not prepared for this). I'd say, try arrive in the daytime! (This being said, Holly & Jeff will provide great email instructions on how to get to the suite which saved our day! Remember to print these instructions out because there is no cellphone reception in the area). 2) Yosemite West is a 40 min-ish drive from Yosemite Valley. Its actually really nice to be away from the crowds but we didn't realize the distance on the first day. The location does however prove to be a convenient middle ground between the Valley and Sequoia Grove, which we found quite a plus as those were the main two areas we wanted to visit. We would stay at Jeff & Holly's home again in a heartbeat.

  • Hard to decide whether to cozy up and stay in this gorgeous retreat state with a book or head out and play in the park, it is truly that good!

  • The place was clean and a great location and price point given the proximity to Yosemite Park. They even sent a guy to unlock the office after hours so we could pick out dvds. The wifi was not media streamable but you could email and get basics done. Great kitchenette with basic utensils which saved us bc we underpacked. Satellite tv and dvd device worked well. No cell service (given beautiful secluded location) but had a hardline phone in the room with 911 service. Onsite laundry was another bonus. I would stay here again for sure.

  • Cozy spot and perfect for returning to after a long day of hiking. Usable kitchen, which is nice for cooking and preparing healthy meals. Host is very responsive and helpful.

    Nathan2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super close to the Yosemite Valley and even got to drive by Tunnel View on the way into the park. Place was very clean and the fireplace + space heater made for a very comfortable stay. Would highly recommend if planning on hiking through Yosemite, would stay there again!

  • My first Airbnb experience. Somehow I was under the impression I was getting a loft unit (as shown in the pictures), so was a bit surprised when I found myself in a studio. Likely fault of my own for not reading closely enough, unsure. It was fine - I didn't require anything more, but for the price I supposed I expected a bit more for the money. Then again, I was staying labor day weekend, so that explains the price. The place is nice enough, bit dated, but has most everything needed. Except a pen/pencil - wanted to leave the recommendation of including little shampoo's found in hotel rooms (in case forgotten by the traveler) but obviously couldn't leave the recommendation while there without something to write with. For the money paid, I believe I shouldn't have to say anything was missing. It's really not a bad place to stay, and I would recommend it, but in terms of an Airbnb experience - the one I had in the bay area thereafter (that same weekend) simply made this pale in comparison.

  • Shayla answered all of my questions very quickly. I did not think I could get a room at the last minute. She was very professional and welcoming. I hesitate to write this review only out of selfishness because it may be harder to get this place in the future because of all the great reviews (plus mine). The truth is.. This condo was the cutest condo and had absolutely everything we needed. Peace, quiet, comfort, nature, cozy, all the comforts of home, including a fireplace! balcony overlooking beautiful trees and wildlife...oh and did i say peace??? Everything I needed for the best vacation ever. We LOVED every minute of our vacation from the time we came out of the tunnel and saw the majestic mountains of Yosemite to coming back to our cozy vacation home every night after a long and glorious day. It was easy to find and close to nature. I wish I could have stayed another week or two. The parking was right out outside the condo. It was the BEST vacation ever. Shayla was very accommodating and i really hope I get to do business with her again. THE BEST EVER.

  • Very lovely apartment in Yosemite which comes with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Wifi was better than expected and the view from our apartment was unbelievable! The fireplace in the apartment also made everything right in this snowy winter. Would love to return! :)

  • Shayla was an amazing host and everything was well organized and clean, all you need from clean towels, BBQ tools, and all kitchen stuff...definitely will come back.

  • Lovely base for Yosemite adventures! Wifi is poor and sofa bed quite hard but aside from that i can't fault it. Our code to access apartment was wrong but the caretaker lives opposite the apartment and came over as soon as i phoned her.

  • Very nice!

    Duxing2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. The location is perfect for exploring Yosemite, and the condo has nice amenities like a kitchen with everything you need to cook up your own meals, including coffee and tea. There’s satellite TV and a Blu-ray player. There’s also a barbecue grill on the balcony (which we didn’t try, it being winter when we visited). Be warned, the WiFi is for essentials only, as it’s pretty slow, and you can hear your neighbors.

    Gene2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip to Holly's was a last minute idea, but it worked out wonderfully. This was our first trip to Yosemite, and having a place that is so close to the park is awesome. Her place was cozy and warm. The kitchen was legit to avoid traveling more to eat and the bathroom was well stocked. If you want a trip to Yosemite, you can't go wrong with Holly's.

    Danny2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as it was described, easy to find and had all the items we needed for our trip.

    Belenda2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Holly gave great directions and access info prior to the booking. Condo was perfect for our stay and great access to all yosemites amazing landmarks. Will be back!

    Nick2015-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Holly was great to work with. Very quick responses, and the studio is just as pictured - cozy, yet well appointed. The bed was decent, the kitchen had much more than I expected. Definitely a good value, and nice to be inside the park, only about 25 minutes from the valley floor.

  • The place is not big, but it is very cozy, and it has everything you need. It's very close to Yosemite valley, and very quiet. There is no cellular signal, and the wifi is really bad, so be prepared with all the information that you need. I would definitely stay here next time if I don't camp at Yosemite.

  • Excellent condo, great location near Yosemite, will stay here again!

    Bryce2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great unit, clean and cozy. Only problem is that this is a downstairs unit, so got noise/stomping/furniture moving from upstairs at 8am

    Fedor2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The location was along the 41 freeway and very close to the valley. The amenities were great, we brought groceries and were able to cook them at the condo. When we arrived it was snowing and the 41 freeway was closed due to a rockslide so we had to go from oakhurst to the 49 then 140 then enter the park that way and up to the condo. Check out the Yosemite park website for updates of road closures. It's off the main road and up a slight hill so if it's icy you may want chains. The room was more spacious than expected, but it did have thin walls. At night you can hear people walking through the hallway. The main bed was comfortable though and the snow was untouched! We had loads of fun sledding in the area. Would book again for pricing and location!

    Ysel2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This location was everything advertised and a great value for the location. Check in and check out were painless, and it was a very clean and tidy place. Would definitely stay here again!

    Christian2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend staying here for anyone travelling to Yosemite. Location was a short drive to the Valley Floor, quiet, and had all the amenities for a great stay. Pin pad entry made check-in a breeze. Very comfortable stay.

  • stayed here on our honey moon from Australia. the apartment is lovely. We actually think it looks better in person than it does on the photos. decor is a little old fashioned but everything was clean and working. bedding comfortable. kitchen stocked nicely with everything you need to cook. balcony was great to watch the sun set from! its about a 20min drive from yosemite valley where the shops and a lot of hikes start from. you need a car if your staying in Yosemite. very easy self check-in and check-out. we had no reason to contact the host during our stay. everything was pretty self-explanatory. we enjoyed the board games and a couple of DVD's in the draw. the apartment is located on a quite street surrounded by the woods and a few other holiday homes. would be sure to stay here again!!! only bad point is we did not see a bear :( but that's hardly the apartments fault.

    Natalie2013-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay if you want a base for visiting Yosemite National Park. Thank you Georgeta!

    Sonia2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Red Door apartment is great and exceeded my expectations! Georgeta is a fantastic host who is really great at answering all questions and giving tips about visiting Yosemite. There is not internet but that turned out to be a wonderful thing for me. I truly got to get away and enjoy the park. I would not hesitate to stay here again. It was beautiful, well maintained, and Georgeta is such a pleasure! Will be coming back very soon!

Includes: Food, Permits, Gear, Campsites, and Bus-Tickets! Welcome to Yosemite's most unique, popular and adventurous AirBnB listing. We (CampCrate) will obtain your wilderness permits for a 3 day trip to backpack the Pohono Trail in Yosemite's vast and untouched wilderness. Before your arrival, we will ship your backpacking gear to a UPS Store en-route to the park for pick up. After your trip, use the included, pre-paid shipping label and send it back. Please continue reading. . .
Sleeping in the backcountry, eating from a campstove, and bathing in the river; You did come here for an adventure, right? This experience does not come easily though, as this trip requires you to work for your views. You are required to hike a minimum of 12.9 miles with the provided backpacking equipment. For our more ambitious guests, we provide you the option of additional side-hikes and hidden views that add 6.2 miles to your journey. There is also free-time on your first and third day to self-explore the park at your own pace. This time can be filled with additional hikes, park tours, dining experiences, or simply relaxing beside the Merced River.
This is the summary of your trip! The full itinerary is much more detailed and includes links and specific locations. Day 1 - Arrive to Yosemite Valley. Pick up Wilderness Permit from the Wilderness Office. Set up camp in Yosemite Valley's backpacker's camp. Spend the remainder of your day hiking, dining, or relaxing by the Merced River. Day 2 - Pack up camp early in the morning. If your group is ambitious, you have a little spare time to add an extra hike in or any other activities you'd like. We like to make sure you have time to pursue the various scenery that catches your attention. After that, you make your way to Glacier Point and begin your 2-day hike. You will summit Sentinel Dome, pass through Taft Point, and hike through a remote pine forest before arriving to camp for the night. Day 3 - You will either wake up at Bridalveil Creek or Dewey Point depending on where you camped. After Dewey Point, you will cross Crocker Point and Stanford point before descending back down into Yosemite Valley, arriving at Tunnel View where your car will be parked. You will likely finish early and have most of the day remaining to pursue your own activities again. This can be an additional hike or your choice of relaxation. Day 4 - Pack up your gear, then return it to the Yosemite Valley Post Office to be returned to us for cleaning!
  • Quick responses. Answers all your questions. Fuss free. Incredible trip and you’ll definitely enjoy it!

  • For us the trip at the Pohono Trail was an unique experience. Before the trip we received the entire gear. The equipment had a high quality, which helped us a lot during the trip. Only the tent is a bit small for two men. The communication with Chad was also very good. Chad answered every single question with patience. This was very important for us because we were just beginner at hiking. Occurred problems were solved fast and satisfying. We are glad that we did the trip. We are highly recommend to join this amazing opportunity to feel the Yosemite Nationalpark away from the typical crowdy places!

    Daniel2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most incredible trips I've ever done. Chad helped me find a hike I'd have never found on my own. The equipment was brilliant and the experience amazing.

    Jordan2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Would Recommend!!, Chad was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The gear was great to use and the itinerary was detailed. It made our experience very stress free as we had very little to organise our selves. Chad was on top of any changes in conditions (i.e fires or road closures in the park ) that could affect our trip and gave us detailed advice. He was very quick with all responses.

    Tam2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The gear was in perfect condition and ready to pick up two days early. Communication was great, Chad responded within minutes whenever we had questions.

    Jannis2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chad was incredibly helpful throughout this whole process. Cannot say enough positive things here! Highly recommend

  • Chad is simply the best - very professional and friendly! This was our 1st ever backpacking trip and we were clueless about everything. Chad went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience and felt comfortable. Getting the permits would have been a nightmare to do on our own. The gear is top-notch and it was super easy to pick up and drop off at UPS. It was very light weight yet high quality and clean. I highly recommend doing this... I don’t have enough good things to say about this experience. Definitely be back in contact with Chad when planning our next backpacking adventure!

  • The cabin was truly superb. We had such a great stay. Surrounded by forest and wildlife and the cabin was stocked with everything we needed. It was about an hour drive from Yosemite valley. Will definitely return.

  • We adored this space and couldn’t recommend it more if we could. We thought the location was perfect while being tucked away in nature to fully escape to Yosemite for the weekend. Our dog loved the space and loved all the walks around the property and area. The deck was our favorite part of the cabin and we enjoyed so many meals out there. We will definitely be back!!

    Andrew2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy and smooth checkin checkout process! The little cabin is so cute and stylish inside! It is also warm during cold weather! The cabin locates in a very nice and quite location which takes about half an hour to drive to bridalveil fall with great scenic views on the way! highly recommended!

  • Gorgeous little studio cabin perfect for a cozy getaway for two! The space - We loved the windows looking out into the forest and the view from the deck. The deck was probably our favourite part of the cabin and we utilised it during our stay by having our breakfast on the deck every morning. After a long hike during the day, we enjoyed curling up on the couch and watching a movie (on our iPad) with a glass of wine- there’s a nice TV there, but the channels are limited. We recommend bringing DVDs or a chromecast or fire stick! We wished we had brought ours with us. The WiFi works great and never had any problems. There’s also a chess board and a deck of cards in the cabin. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pans, dishes, and utensils - everything you could possibly need! Even a blender and baking tins. And of course a grill on the deck. We cooked all of our meals whilst there. There was even salt and pepper - bring with you extra spices you might need. There’s a little convenience store a few minutes drive from the cabin that had milk, eggs, and basic groceries. However, we stopped in Raleigh’s in the town before (Oakhurst) to buy all of our groceries. The location - for us, the location was perfect. It was secluded from the crowds in Yosemite Valley and felt very peaceful and private. There’s a lot to explore in Wawona. The Chilnualna Falls trail is about a 10 minute drive and Yosemite Valley was a 45 min to an hour drive, which we didn’t mind because the drive is scenic and really beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful if you have a question. We checked in after hours and their instructions were clear and we had no problems. Although I recommend trying to arrive before dark! We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book this little cabin again.

  • The place was great. Lots of space, full kitchen, and a much quieter and calmer than the lodging down in the valley. Pretty perfect overall - highly recommended.

  • Great place to stay in Yosemite! Near to everywhere you want to go in the park. We would definitely use this rental again!

  • The condo is in an awesome location inside the park. It was a reasonable drive to anywhere we wanted to go and felt like a true getaway. The pictures are accurate and the TV has actually been upgrades. I recommend to anyone heading to Yosemite.

    Michael2015-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was ideal for a visit to Yosemite, well kitted out, clean and comfortable. Only downside was the old and inefficient stove, not good when self-catering is the only option. Otherwise, everything was good.

    Harriet2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Just had 4 fantastic days in Yosemite Park. The location of the Condo was just 20 minutes from Yosemite Valley centre and offered an excellent base of which to explore the area. Although we didn't meet Shayla we corresponded by email and the staff at the Condo Complex were very professional and helpful.

  • its a good 30-40 min drive once you enter the mountains which wasn't my favorite part. the closest grocery store is crazy expensive 2 bags of grocery = 102$$! So do your shopping before, if your on a budget. All you need is foil, sauces and spices except salt and pepper & your own food to cook here everything else included from knives to wine openers. From spaghetti pots to sauce pans. Which was my favorite part! On the other hand this place was amazing super clean, exactly as the discription! Loved it! No wifi made things better unless you have h.w. Or business to conduct. i will definitely plan to stay here again. Loved it! Oh and and the sheets and towels smelled like fresh laundry, also my favorite part THANK YOU !

  • The condo was exactly as described and the photos are accurate. It fit what we needed. The kitchen had what we needed, and we really enjoyed the BBQ. The condo was very close to badger pass and only a short drive to the valley, so it was situated perfectly. We had a small issue checking in (we couldn't find the person to checkin with, and with no cell reception we couldn't call anyone), but it was sorted out shortly after checkin time. Also, the condo tended to get really warm, even with the heat turned down low. But, given it was pretty cold out side, I didn't mind much.

Quality new home, clean, well-maintained, spacious. Full kitchen, nice bathrooms, comfortable King beds. Top two levels of a three level duplex (access is at street level)
Royal Retreat is a new two-bedroom modern mountain home inside Yosemite Park gates. With two king-bedrooms, it is perfect for two couples. You can feel the care that went into each detail, from the rustic Shaker-style cabinets and doors to the handmade wooden staircase. One of the unique features is you do not climb stairs to access the front door. This is rare in our area; most rentals are on a hill, and you haul your bags up flights of stairs to enter. In addition, Royal Retreat's guest bedroom, which boasts a king-size bed, is on the first floor with a bathroom right across the hall, making it perfect for guests who are less mobile. In terms of amenities, Royal Retreat offers luxury upon luxury. The home is fully equipped - towels, linens, dishes, cookware. You only need to bring yourself, your food/drink, and a good time! Royal Retreat offers beautiful views of the forest from its rooms. The living room and loft are especially relaxing; both receive ample sunlight and showcase peaceful views of the trees surrounding the property. If you want to grill, the covered deck gives you the luxury of being outside, while still providing shelter from the sun or rain. We have another unit on site-Serenity Suite, directly below Royal Retreat. All of your space is separate and private including your parking area, entrance and deck. You will not need to interact with other guests, but consideration for those living below you is appreciated. We are sorry - there is no TV service or reliable cell phone service in this area or at our home. We do have internet with WiFi (see other section for internet limitations). We have a video library. We welcome children and all guests must be declared at booking. Guests 6 months and older count as children towards the guest count and are charged. 1 guest under 6 months is no charge, but is included in the 6 person maximum guest count and must be declared at the time of booking. Rates quoted already include 11% tax for 2018 and 13% tax for 2019.
  • Thank you! This was a lovely space to stay, and perfect for my husband and I to share with my parents as we had plenty of space to ourselves as well as the lovely kitchen and dining room to share. Very lovely drive to the main attractions of the park.

  • We stayed for one night in this beautiful home. Holly and Jeff are great hosts. The place is very clean and is situated in beautiful Yosemite. I highly recommend this place!

    Marlies2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is excellent. It is of the highest quality, very comfortable. It is exactly as described. With a location away from Yosemite Valley, which can become very congested and after a long day of hiking it is the perfect place to relax. We spent most evenings grilling on the balcony enjoying the peace and quiet. Holly was an excellent host and there was a bunch of useful information provided both before the visit and in the accommodation. Can certainly recommend this for families visiting Yosemite.

    Brian2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Even in a place that has limited data, Holly was prompt in answering our questions and making sure we were comfortably settled in the home. The information that was provided allowed us to quickly grasp the various facilities and amenities that were included in the home. Overall it was one of the best, if not, the best Airbnb homes I've lived in.

    Jerry2017-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's place was the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at! Complete with BBQ, fireplace, board games, books, DVDs, comfy couches and beds, and a fully stocked kitchen. Holly was also incredibly responsive and helpful while planning our trip, down to the closest grocery store, which sights to see, and which snow chains to purchase. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks Holly!

    Min2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay at the Royal Retreat. This location worked out great for a few days visit to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point. The check-in process was super easy. We found the property to be quite stylish, cozy, and clean with plenty of space to relax. There is no shortage of off-grid entertainment available, including games, puzzles, DVDs, and lots of Yosemite-specific literature. The beds were very comfortable, with plenty of extra blankets. The kitchen was a nice size and had everything that we needed. It's clear that the hosts have a great attention to detail. Overall, we felt that the location, accommodations, and amenities were definitely worth the upscale cost of this property.

    David2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Holly's place - it really is in the best location imaginable in Yosemite. You are sleeping IN the park and are quickly at all the sights and hikes so you can be the first one there without having to get up at 4am. The place itself is great, too. The quality of all amenities is premium, everything is very clean and the kitchen is better equipped than my kitchen back home - it literally has everything. Communication was effortless and quick, Holly is very responsive. What you should be aware of is that there is no internet connection in the surroundings. We arrived in the middle of the night and had some difficulties finding the right house as our GPS did not recognize the address. So be prepared and have everything Holly is sending you in advance (e.g. directions) printed out and brought with you, then everything will run smoothly. Holly, thank you so much for the fabulous stay - we definitely hope to be back soon!

    Stefanie2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Holly and Jeff were accommodating hosts. Holly did everything needed to make our stay comfortable. We had a little hiccup getting into the house but were able to quickly resolve this. The actual Royal Retreat house had everything needed and a comfortable layout that could easily accommodate my whole family. Plus and ideal location perfectly situated half way from valley to glacier point, which most people will be driving during their visit.

Pick up Wilderness Permit from the Wilderness Office. Set up camp in Yosemite Valley's backpacker's camp. Spend the remainder of your day hiking, dining, or relaxing by the Merced River. Day 4 - Pack up your gear, then return it to the Yosemite Valley Post Office to be returned to us for cleaning!
  • Amazing experience, Chad and his colleagues will provide you with all information and gear so never panic !

    Sam2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • I'm so glad we took this trip and used Chad's service - I don't think we ever would have backpacked in the wilderness otherwise, and now we're hooked! He made everything very easy, was incredibly responsive to our multiple questions and came up with alternative options for us as we decided to hike on Yosemite's busiest weekend - 4th of July. The gear provided is top notch, exactly what you'll need, and as long as you are a little bit flexible (open to hitch hiking, for example) you'll have a blast!

    Rita2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chad was a great host, always trying to help us with our many doubts. The gear was brand new and perfect to stay in the wilderness. I just have positive words for him and the Yosemite experience.

    Pablo2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant trip that I recommend to anyone who fancies a brilliant wilderness experience in a very easy way. My family will never forget the time in Yosemite, thank you Chad for providing this excellent service

    Richard2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first trip out to Yosemite, and Chad really helped to make sure all of my questions/concerns were answered. I went from not knowing what trail to backpack on to knowing exactly where to park, how to get to the trail and back, and everything else I wanted to know.

    Steve2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend using CampCrate for your next outdoor adventure. My sister and I rented for a 3-day trip and it was incredible. UPS unfortunately lost our package in the mail but Chad and Mason quickly found 2 different solutions to our problem within an hour of finding out the package was lost. They were extremely helpful in righting a wrong they didn't commit. Although I cannot speak on the quality of gear because we were not able to use the original gear sent to us, know you are in good hands planning a trip with Chad and Mason. Everything from helpful tips to an incredibly detailed and useful itinerary made this trip go perfectly. This was out first backpacking trip and it was so much easier than trying to plan one ourselves, great for beginners!

    Lila2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chad's help and knowledge of the area was amazing. The camp crate was perfect for the trail! It was my first backpacking trip and also my first time in Yosemite. It was an amazing experience and I'll never forget It!

  • We had such a great experience in Yosemite! It was so nice to camp wild and the walking trail Chad organized was beautiful. The gear we got were perfect and very easy to handle. We would love to do this again! Thanks a lot for this great adventure!

  • This condo is brilliantly placed and we had a wonderful time in Yosemite. Holly is great - quick to respond, offering plenty of information and advice. It's a good size space with slightly dated decor and the carpets could do with replacing. Everything you need for your stay is there, bar your food, and that was brilliantly helpful for us on a road trip. The walls however are paper thin and although it didn't bother us for the general Christmas time revellers (it was all at sociable enough hours) , we had a family with an ill child next door to us and it was so loud we had one night with no sleep at all and another with intermittent sleep. We felt the electrics could have done with an overhaul - there was a few dodgy points and the condo door could do with replacing/ having a new lock or both. Overall it's a sweet place that needs some money spending on it in an AMAZING location.

    Julia2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect spot to visit Yosemite, and the Condo truly has everything you would need or desire for a comfortable stay... even seasoning for the BBQ! Seriously consider this place if you are 6 or less and want a great place to stay bang in the middle of the park. A word of advice, there is no cell signal and a very unstable wifi so gather up everything you need online before you enter the park. You will be effectively disconnected from the world. (and that's the beauty!)

    Philip2014-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is really great. The place is big and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is very nice aswell. We had no wifi but you don't really need it in Yosemite :) I would really recommand this condo!! Holly is very nice aswell and is very quickly with her replies and information.

    Vicki2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is outside of the valley but convenient to both the valley and northern and southern parts of Yosemite. It was quite comfortable for our party of 6 adults. The cell service is limited but we were able to use the WiFi easily. Holly was very responsive to a slight bathroom issue that we had. By the time we returned from our hike the repair was complete. We ate in every night and enjoyed the outdoor electric grill. It was wonderful to eat breakfast and bring lunch for our long hiking days. We would stay again!

    Deborah2018-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Holly was very responsive and helpful from the time we reserved all the way to when we checked out. The space was also homey and comforting.

    Jason2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's listing is a very cosy and private place in Yosemite West, perfect for a getaway in a scenic area if you don't mind traveling a little (about 30 mins) from the Yosemite Valley. Would be a great place for a group of 4 with 2 bathrooms and a warm fireplace. However do note that wifi coverage is rather limited but may not be exclusive to just her apartment as coverage is quite scarce overall in Yosemite area.

Our warm and inviting apartment located inside the park gates within 30 minutes of Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and the Mariposa Grove. Finished in 2010, Alpine Escape is an 840sf (78m2), one-bedroom apartment with the comforts of home. This apartment makes up the ground floor of our duplex home. You enter from the front of the home and we have a completely separate entrance to our floor in the back.
A cozy 840 square-foot one-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, modern appliances, granite countertops and knotty alder cabinets and trim throughout. Our comfortable living room area features a fireplace, a 47" television (no reception but a wide selection of DVDs) and a daybed in the sleeping alcove. The daybed turns into two twin beds for sleeping. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a Saatva Luxury Firm mattress (basically a medium-firm mattress with a very thick pillow top) with built-in knotty alder cabinetry. The bathroom is entered through the hallway (i.e. not from the master bedroom) and is a standard bathroom with a tub/shower.
Yosemite West is at a sort of intersection that puts you about 30 minutes from the three major attractions in this section of the park: Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and the Mariposa Grove. No place puts you as close to all three, but we also have no services where we live, so it works best for people who plan to cook their own meals.
  • Tom's warm welcome and hike-snowshoe advice were a wonderful addition to our trip.

    Rachel2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Theresa's place is perfect for a getaway in Yosemite. The location is ideal, as you are only a short drive from Glacier Point Road and less than 30 minutes to the valley. Staying at their place allows the comforts of a home without the crowds of the valley. The home is newly remodeled and has everything you could need for your stay. Highly recommend staying here.

    Jon2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place in an Amazing location - A real luxury pad, with all you could need or want, lots of space, excellent kitchen, comfy bed, excellent utilities, warm and cosy. Tom made everything very easy for us, great communication, made sure we were ok when we arrived. Loved chatting to Tom and finding out the place has its own small role to play in the history of climbing in the valley. And outside…. The stars at night, wow! and Yosemite valley really is just round the corner, bigger wow!

    Paul2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect, close to the glacier point road the apartment is impeccably kept and provides Internet that is fast enough for email/social media as needed. Tom is awesome, very quick to respond and made a great recommendation for us the first night of when and where to catch the beautiful sunset. We 100% recommend this to anyone that is looking for an amazingly comfortable apartment inside Yosemite!

    Joe2018-05-17T00:00:00Z

  • A great benefit to stay within the park, so-o-o-o convenient to the highlights of Yosemite. Perfect for 2 or 3 with the couch pull-out bed and the Murphy bed and a kitchen that will serve more than that. Less then a mile from the condo, two bears ran across the road in front of us so we probably can't be objective about the location. :) The kitchen was well out-fitted and the BBQ grill on the patio was a nice bonus. After a full day of hiking we were ready to get back to the condo, relax, cook a bit of dinner, and chill in front of the TV. WiFi was sketchy so be prepared to be separated from the rest of the world……which my son and I found to be quite delightful. :)

    John2014-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great for this place! just down the road from the turn off for glacier point and about a 30 min drive to get to the top! It was a great place to come back to at the end of a long day. Bed was comfy and the fireplace was nice. Patio had a BBQ and also a full kitchen for cooking. Would definitely check this place out again next time we come up.

Rural area full of trees and wildlife
  • Cozy place with amazing view.

    Lucy2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin has one of the better views in the Yosemite West region. It is also great for unplugging since there is no WiFi or cellular service -- which complements the visit to a place like Yosemite. That said, there's a main hospitality building not far down the road with WiFi service if one is so inclined. A short walk North up the road and you will get a wonderful vantage of the forest during the sunset -- if you feel the need to take a walk at all that is. The views from the deck were, again, wonderful and at night there's a clear view of the stars. Combine this with the spacious deck, propane grill, plentiful seating arrangements for the dining and living room, and numerous bedrooms and bathrooms made it a great stay for a family excursion to Yosemite.

    Joshua2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was exactly what we were expecting, and it was actually bigger than I imagined from the pictures. You will have to climb stairs just to get to the house which is expected from the description. We had friends come up at different times and ended up with four cars. The description says there are only 2 spots, but we managed to park close enough to get all 4 to fit (mind you one of them was a Chevy Spark). The house is beautiful, clean, spacious and has amazing views of the sunset from the porch. It came equipped with everything we needed to cook big meals for everyone (including propane for the grill). The neighborhood is on the containment line of the Ferguson fire so there a lot of burned trees and it smelled like smoke on the drive up. But in relation to the valley, this location is prime. It took us less than 30 min to get to the parking lots in the park (and this was Labor Day Weekend). There was no WiFi in the house (expected from the description) which was nice because it kept us all off our phones. However, there is a WiFi center that's a quick 1 min drive down the street that we used to get our GPS up and running before we left for the day. Overall, the house exceeded our expectations in all areas. I'd definitely recommend this house to a big group that wants to live it up in a cool cabin.

    Timothy2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfull place to stay if you can walk the stairs.

    Klaas2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a really good time while staying this accommodation. We enjoyed nice view from the living area and balcony with tidy and clean rooms, and we had BBQ with a grill at balcony and s'more with the fire place. Great hospitality was offered while we stayed, too. There were not firelighters for the fire place but a member of staff brought some to our room and helped to make fire for us. Also, the complimentary coffee been become empty after using at first morning but another can was prepared before coming back the room at the evening. From the nearest town, Groveland, which has a supermarket and some restaurants, it takes 1.5 hours to get this accommodation. But there is a supermarket in Yosemite Valley, Village Store, opened 8 and to 10 pm, and it is big enough! It takes just 30 min from this accommodation and located just next to the visiter center so you can buy what you want including souvenirs after enjoying Yosemite Valley. No wifi is provided in the accommodation "luckily" so you will enjoy the time to spend with your family and friends! To reach the entrance door, there are many steps to go up, so carrying heavy luggage makes you tired but you will know it's worth it.

  • This was the perfect choice for our visit to Yosemite. The condo was well stocked, clean, very spacious, and extremely convenient. The only negative comment would be that the walls are a bit thin but we used the fan to white out any noise and it was not a problem at all. I would highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • Very good place to stay in Yosemite

    Iaroslav2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent location for visits to Glacier Point Road and Yosemite Valley. We had four adults, and the size is "cozy" for four, but having the two bathrooms was a huge plus. The floor plan is good. We ate breakfasts and dinners in the condo, and were quite pleased with the kitchen and dining areas. Communications with host and check-in were very good. Don't count on the Wi Fi service.

    Edward2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re not the camping type but still want a way to enjoy Yosemite then I can’t recommend Holly’s apartment enough. Reasonably priced and located 15 mins from the valley you can day trip into the park, experience it’s incredible landscape and then come back and chill after a long days trek. You can have a hot shower, enjoy a cold drink, cook a nice meal, chill on the sofa then drift off in a comfy bed. 5/5.

This home has air conditioning!
  • The cabin is beautiful and feels so spacious. Everything is very thoroughly stocked: plenty of towels, cookware, even tea and DVDs. It was spotlessly clean - and I am little nutty about dust. The setting is beautiful, and we really enjoyed the patio while our dogs ran around in the large fenced yard. Steve was very prompt with correspondence before and during our stay. We look forward to visiting again.

  • Wonderful experience in Yosemite. The house is warm, clean and comfortable. We loved the fully furnished kitchen so that we can find anything we want for cooking. It's close to the south gate for shopping and convenient to drive to main point in park. Exactly an amazing trip living here, highly recommended!

    Vivien2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s place is as described and nicely located within the park (Wawona). We enjoyed our stay. We ate dinner on the patio under the angled walls of the house. The air conditioning was appreciated since it was in the 90s outside during our stay.

    Bryan2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • I could go for a long one, but this is really easy. The perfect Yosemite experience and the outside hot tub makes it perfect+ - anytime again.

    Feda2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • My wife & I stayed at Steve's Birdhouse for two nights as part of our two week road trip around California. It was fantastic! To find somewhere within the park to have all to yourself instead of one of those very expensive & dated hotels was a real treat. The Birdhouse is in a beautiful secluded & quite location. It's a fair drive from Yosemite valley (about 30mins) but the drive never gets boring as the views are insane & the roads good fun. I can't recommend this place highly enough, it has everything you need for a great stay. Large, unique, comfortable & cool. Yosemite is one of the most breathtaking places we have ever visited & to go back to your very own place to put your feet up at the end of a long and exhausting day of hiking & sensational scenery viewing is heaven.

    Robert Scott2015-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a top-class residence in the heart of Wawona - about 5 miles inside the park. The accommodation absolutely lived up to its description - large, spacious, well-equipped and with a great balcony, barbeque, big-assed TV, Netflix and hot tub. Sleeping - the beds were very comfortable and all located in the spacious upper floor. Daytime temperatures were in the mid to high nineties which meant the house got very hot during the daytime and it took a lot of effort each evening with fans / open windows etc, to cool it down to a level for comfortable sleep. But hey, this is not a huge thing and it's what one would expect in Yosemite in July. Our host was easily reached and had everything just-so on our arrival. Thanks for a great vactaion Steve.

    Martin2014-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a welcoming and spacious cabin in Yosemite. The AC works well and it's well equipped with amenities. Our family had lots of fun playing family games, watching Netflix and in the hot tub.

    Babette2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in Yosemite. The accommodation was perfect, good location, good facilities, comfy beds and all the mod cons to keep us entertained when the weather got bad. Hot tub was the icing on the cake.

This sunny, family-friendly home is inside Yosemite National Park. It is about 13 miles to the Valley, and only 7 miles away from Badger Pass ski area. Our kitchen is fully equipped for cooking your meals - we have a gas range, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. In addition, we have Dish TV. This quiet location offers a peaceful respite from the rest of the park visitors, and is a great place to relax.
  • Really awesome place to stay in Yosemite. Clean, near to Glacier point, match my need (3 people). It will take 30 minutes to drive to valley.

    Hao Ping2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is a perfect distance from Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point. The views while driving down are amazing. Be sure to fill up your gas tank before coming since you will driving up a lot of the time. House has everything you need e.g. pots/pans, oven, toaster, etc... Parking is a little tight when the other half is also rented, but there is enough space for 3 cars.

    Pablo2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice apartment away from the hustle and bustle of the valley. Located about 45 minutes from Valley in a remote, pretty, residential area. There are 2 levels, each with an apartment. You can hear folks in apartment above to some extent (i.e., depending on how loud and active they are), but we did not find this to be a problem as we were exhausted from hiking at night! Kitchen is well equipped. Place was clean and comfortable. Bed was quite comfortable as well. Driveway is long for several cars, but need to coordinate with other apartment guests to ensure they leave room to get by--this was not a problem for us. In summary, this is a very good place to stay in the park.

    Russell2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment looks newly repainted and bright inside in an older structure. It is in the park, near the start of the Glacier Pt Road so perfect for access to the south rim even when the Valley is crowded. We were thankful for this great location. It's a little pricey for what it is, and the kitchen is basic at best, but it saved us lots of time in traffic and was perfectly serviceable as a base for our three days of hiking in the high country.

    Donald2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really super convenient for staying in Yosemite park, we were definitely glad to have stayed here than in the popular Yosemite village. It has both the convenience of being close to Yosemite trails (Glacier point with half dome, and yosemite village), away from the hustle and bustle of the village and high up in the trees, with nice views. The host was prompt in replying and very helpful.

    Johanna2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sunshine Suite 1A is a comfortable, clean, quiet, and functional accommodation inside Yosemite Park. Great launching point for hikes and day trips within the park. Approximately 25-30 min drive down into the Valley. Highly recommend!

  • We had a great time up at Yosemite. The condo is ideally located for trips up Badger Pass - perfect for a winter get away. The bed was super comfortable and the condo well described. We were two people. I think it would be cramped with more. The two bathrooms and loft make this one of the nicer units in the building. The upstairs end location meant that it was relatively quiet.

    Rebecca2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location for those visiting Yosemite within in very easy reach from the valley and glacier point. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

    Tim2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Shayla did a great job with the condo. Everything we would want for cooking meals was there - Keep in mind the only spices are salt and pepper, so bring your own. We had a terrible experience at the Yosemite Lodge food court on our 2nd day and were very grateful to be able fire the whole food service in the valley and just go back to the condo and fix ourselves some great meals. The condo was nicely furnished and very comfortable for enjoying a night in on a cold winter night. Photos were accurate. Shayla and the onsite management do a good job of taking care of our needs. Great experience.

    Michael2015-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • These condos are great for anyone wishing to stay a little ways outside of the Valley. Some nice walks in the area right around as well. Has all of the basics you could ask for, comfortable bed, and a great balcony.

  • Perfect place to be with friends/ family. It has an excellent location, we loved to hear the sound of the river at anytime. Perfect for long walks too.

  • Johns cabin was absolutely worth every penny we paid. It was warm, cozy, and has the perfect living room/dining room area with an open kitchen and a breath taking view of the river right outside with windows all around. I cannot compliment this space enough! Its beautiful. We came with several families with a handful of toddlers. And the house met all of our needs. It was child friendly, and even had a kid gate we ended up using! John was very quick with all my messages and texts and very courteous throughout the reservation process and stay. I definitely hope to be staying here again in the future if we have another Yosemite trip. :)

  • My family of 6 and I greatly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is charming & cozy with plenty of sleeping space. The scenery is so beautiful. We hiked to several stunning overlooks in Yosemite, to the swinging bridge in Wawona & around the Mariposa Grove of sequoias. The cabin is conveniently located to enjoy many different areas. Our boys braved the chilly water & jumped off the rock into the river behind the cabin & loved warming up in the hot tub. We walked to the little Pine Tree Market for groceries. It is fairly pricey, but the convenience was worth it. We loved our time at this amazing place & hope to visit again to experience it in a different season.

  • This was one of the easiest bookings I've made on Airbnb. John was so responsive and made the entire process seamless. Everything was exactly as described and our family had a great time. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

    Chloe2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • the location was great about 45 minutes to Yosemite valley for your hikes. the river was a close walk. The cabin was a cabin didn't really expect more than a cabin. I would recommend wearing shoes unless you want black dirty feet and splinter. Careful of bees there are a lot of them especially if you're grilling outside. hope you packed enough water (a case of pure Nestle water from the market is $15) there was no detergents to wash the towels so I would pack a little.

  • Great location and our host was responsive

    Walid2018-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • John is very quick and responsive with messages! The view and location of this cabin is BREATHTAKING, that alone is worth every penny. Overlooking the river with a wonderful huge rock to relax on, not to mention the hot tub on the deck! We had a wonderful time in Yosemite due to all of the outdoor activities avaialable and the view from this home! If you are looking for a secluded and quiet get away this is the place for you!

    Abby2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean, the guest manual was extremely helpful, and everything was great - except for the lights. All switches weren't working and we had to spend the night with just a few of lamps that worked - luckily we were there for just one night.

  • Awesome location walka let to some beautiful falls - perfect for two people!

    Christopher2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a lovely space that had a lot of atmosphere and had clearly been owned by the same family for the last 50 years. We enjoyed our brief time there.

    Chris2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Everything was as described and the communication was prompt and very detailed in answers. The cabin is very charming and a perfect size for 2 people. The cabin was also very clean and in a great location. The only thing that could be improved is having some basics for cooking like salt, pepper and olive oil. We would def stay here again.

    Andreas2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Woodsy feel. The kids enjoyed it. Near the Big Trees Lodge therefore close to dinner and entertainment. Also, out of the way of all the crowds.

    David2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Would stay here again but perhaps a bigger cabin. Just the two of us so it worked out great but another person would have made us crowded. Nothing extra so bring coffee, soap, shampoo, etc.

    Elizabeth2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location, great communication on the front end from the host. About 1 hour driving distance from Yosemite Valley, 45 minutes from Taft Point and 1 hour to Glacier Point. The house was much cleaner than you would expect, smelled great and had every piece of cookwear you could need. We made lots of meals at home and relaxed comfortably. They really earned all 5 stars!

  • Garth was a great guy. He welcomed us even though we showed up a few hours early, and went out of his way to set up the cabin to our liking. He brought us lots of firewood, and stuff for the stove to help us prepare dinner. The cabin was great. Although it's dated, Garth's team did a great job tidying up. The best part was the massive fireplace. We ripped through a mountain of firewood over the weekend, and got the place up to 80º despite the freezing temps overnight. Wawona is a great spot to get into the park. It's only about 45min to the village. I highly recommend visiting in the winter time when the park is quiet. Yosemite has a much more serene feel to it in the winter.

    Anthony2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Although the cabin was not quite ready when we arrived, Garth was very welcoming and sorted everything out as soon as possible. It is an idyllic spot (without hordes of people) and so convenient for visiting the best of Yosemite. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

    Tom2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice lodge! Clean, quiet, beautiful, and somewhat isolated from the rest of the camp! But still located conveniently 5 mins walk away from a grocery store that literally has everything, 3 mins away from swimmable lakes. It has very good WI-FI too! Towels, shampoo, BBQ equipments, plates, forks....you name it, and Garth has it all! Highly recommend Garth's property to anyone visiting Yosemite!

    Tiffany2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Garth and Margina were the perfect hosts. The cabin was spectacular and in close proximity to Badger pass and the snow play area and the falls. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything we could have ever needed or wanted was stocked in the cabin. We visited in March and were concerned about the weather, but it was just lovely the entire time we were there. We definitely will be back. Best place in Yosemite to stay. Not to, to secluded, but away from the crowds.

    Tamantha2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great 2 bedroom cabin inside Yosemite NP about 35 - 40 min from Tunnel view lookout. Located away from the road and almost on the river bank so you can hear running water from the porch. Both bedrooms are not huge but totally adequate and share a full bathroom located between them. Everything was nice and clean, WiFi worked well - important since unless you have Verizon, there will be no service. Margina and Garth were wonderful hosts, replying right away to questions before the trip and meeting us on arrival, as well as suggesting on what to see locally in Wawona. If you are looking for a place that lets you be in the park before the crowds and buses arrive but would rather not pay $300 a night for lodge room, this is a great option !

    Dmitri2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Garth is the best host ever. The cottage is like one in a fairy tale, beautiful view, great location, and my girls saw deer running beside them in the morning forest! Garth gave us advice for great places where normal tourist will never find. The galaxy is awesome! Garth even helped us fix our flat tire! Overall this is a remarkable stay, and I do recommend this to everyone who wish to have some exceptional experience in Yosemite! 这是一座童话中森林小屋,美丽的景色,设备齐全的房间,简直大大超出我们的预期!Garth是个特别棒的房东,给我们指点只有本地人才知道的美景。星空简直把我们看傻了!强烈推荐给所有人!

  • What a great stay! We LOVED staying at the cabin. It's wonderfully situated in the trees just 5-10 min from the Mariposa grove and very convenient to the valley. We came in late at night and the directions made it easy to find. Garth was still up and was very accommodating. We stayed over a week and cooked at home many times in the well-equipped kitchen. We highly recommend a very relaxing and beautiful stay in Garth's cabin.

  • This place was perfect for me and my husband. It was clean and as described. It is a tight bathroom but enjoyed a long hot shower after a day of hiking. Great to be inside the park. Directions to park and suggestions on website were spot on. I would highly recommend it.

  • Holly's condo was wonderful. Right in the middle of Yosemite, it was central to the sites Yosemite National Park has to offer. It was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. My only regret is we only stayed for a night!

  • Holly is a great host! We had a great time staying near Yosemite. The place is clean and cozy. I'd highly recommend for a couple visiting for a couple of days.

  • Great place and location. We enjoyed the condo a lot and had a great time.

  • An incredibly easy, smooth check in process- the apartment was very easy to find, accessible and a perfect half way point between Yosemite Valley and Glacier point. A clean, cosy and comfortable room that's even better than in the photos! The bed is amazing, soo comfy. The decor is fantastic! The evening's were starting to get cooler but not enough to need the fire whilst we were there, however I can just imagine the apartment is even cosier in the autumn/winter with a fire going. The apartment had everything you could need and even DVDs and board games to entertain guests. There was a folder full of information, including the various walking routes, park activities, places to eat etc which was really helpful. We'd love to go back and thoroughly recommend it to anyone stopping in Yosemite.

  • Holly took a phone call from me late at night because my gps got me a little lost. She was so nice.

    Patricia2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Holly's place was perfect. It was a wonderful location just a short drive (about 10 miles) from the heart of Yosemite Valley hiking and activities. The place was cozy and had everything we needed. There was even a propane grill there on the patio, which was awesome. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

    Brian2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. I would totally recommend this place as it was just 30 minute away from all the main points.

This beautiful home is centrally located within Yosemite National Park. Glacier Point is 10 miles from the home, Yosemite Valley is 13 miles away and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is approx. 30 minutes away. In the winter, Badger Pass Ski Area is a short 10 miles away. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking your meals and the upstairs sunny deck has a gas grill for BBQ. This quiet location offers a peaceful respite from the rest of the park visitors.
  • Nice host, limited wifi, but better than nothing

    Rocky2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, so much nicer and more convenient than the motels outside the park. Great location and lovely to be surrounded by trees.

    Sarah2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Good, clean, basic, and comfortable accommodations in the park!

    John2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Lisa's place. It is very convenient to the valley and it was nice not staying in the crowded area. We hiked all day and then came home to the less hustle and bustle of the valley.

    Diana2017-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Place was larger than I expected and has an awesome selection of VHS videos. Great location to the park.

  • The Suite Sunshine is a beautiful and well-maintained house. The location is great. It is just a mile from the entrance of the Glacier Point and a few miles from the Yosemite Valley entrance. My parents were satisfied with this house and liked more than a luxurious 5-star downtown hotel in San Francisco.

    Yong Hoon2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great kitchen with all amenities.

    Hao2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect for two couples! We loved it here. We had the perfect amount of room, and each couple had their own bathroom. The kitchen is great and has almost everything you need ( pots, pans, coffee maker, utensils). We cooked dinner here every night with now problem. We also used the grill which was great (don’t forget the ketchup, mayo, and mustard like we did). There are board games at the house and a selection of dvds and vhs. Our phones had no signal at the house nor did the WiFi work very well but it was a good thing we got to detach from society for a bit, and we had long range walki talkies just in case. The house is about a 20-30 min drive from Yosemite Valley and there are no shops or gas stations(that we saw) for at least half an hour in the opposite direction as Yosemite Valley so make sure to do all your grocery shopping prior to heading into the mountains. You do need to do some parking coordinating with the downstairs neighbors and be mindful of your noise level since there are people below you. For us this was no problem and our neighbors turned out to be great, we even ran into them in upper Yosemite falls the next day! The only downside I could think of is having to walk up multiple flights of stairs to get into the house after your legs already feel like jelly from the hikes but other than that we loved it here and would highly recommend it to others!

  • The studio is ideally located within the valley with a nice little balcony giving onto the forest. Around 20 minutes by car to Yosemite Village and 20 minutes by car to Glacier Point. It is very confortable and cozy to come back to it after a long day of hike ! Should we ever come back to the Yosemite National Park, we would stay here again :)

    Lily2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The location of West Yosemite is great. It's over 6000 ft above sea level. The unit is good for a small size family. The unit has a queen size bed and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen has an electric stove/oven, a full size dishwasher, counter top microwave, and a decent size sink. The fridge is in a closet (and not in the kitchen)., but that wasn't an issue. It's a mid size fridge, and was plenty big for our use. There is a cool retro look gas fireplace which is controlled by the thermostat in the room. There is no A/C in the unit...but since we stayed during November, that also was not an issue. I am not sure how hot it gets if one visits in the summer, but there is a floor standing fan in the storage area that could be used. The unit has satellite TV with many HD channels but there is no WiFi in the unit. There is no cell phone coverage in the unit as well. We had Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint services and none of them worked inside the room. If we needed to make a phone call, we had to go out in the parking lot. With regards to WiFi, there is an access point in the hallway, which works fine, but does not reach the room. If you need to surf the web or check your emails, you have to stand at the end of the hallway near the access point. We missed the convenience of having WiFi all the time, but at the same time, not being connected 24/7 on a relaxing trip to Yosemite was quite welcomed.

  • Great and affordable place to stay!

    Courtney2018-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The unit was as described and was very clean. The fireplace was a nice touch and presented a pleasant ambiance in the unit. The unit was easily accessible upon arrival and close to the ski area and Yosemite Valley.

    Daniel2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything OK. A little small, but for bring close to Yosemite and not paying as much totally fine. The service was really helpful and friendly (renting boardgames).

  • This was a fantastic base from which to explore Yosemite and so close to the action. We stayed with our two young children and couldn't have wanted for anything, except perhaps a bear sighting or two to silence our daughter! Georgeta was very prompt and helpful in communicating before hand. The house itself had everything we wanted!

  • What a wonderful place to stay at! After full days of hiking and sight seeing, it was so nice to come back to such a cosy and warm house. The place was very well equipped for a family (especially the kitchen) and our kids loved the range of games in the cupboard. The outlook was stunning and the complimentary basket was a real surprise. We would love to return. Thanks for having us.

    Matthew2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent three wonderful days in Georgeta house. She is a very experienced gentle hostess and has all under control.Everything was funcional, location is gorgeous and close to Yosemite Valley. We would definitely come back in another occasion.

  • The Sunset House is best choice and it deserves its name. It is furnished in good style, clean and fully stocked. In a quiet surrounding we enjoyed there our evenings after exiting days in YN. We thank Georgeta for giving us detailed and helpful information. We would come again.

  • This home is fantastic. The location is great. Everything about it was perfect. We had a great time with two children aged 8 and 10. The place is very clean and perfectly located in the park and surrounding areas. Great communication with the owners. Everything was perfect!

  • Exceptional location, great house! Only 25-30 min drive to the valley inside the park. Big house with lots of space. Well maintained and containing lots of info about the park. Owner supplied all necessary information timely and we had no problems. Others have mentioned that there is a lot of house rules, which is true. However, they all were very reasonable. Would definately stay here again.

    Niels2013-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • This home is in a nice quiet location with a beautiful view of the sunset. We loved sitting on the patio in the early evenings and mornings. The wine and basket of snacks welcomed us when we arrived and her housekeeping responded quickly to fill the gas for the BBQ when we texted them.

  • Great place and location, but as others have mentioned walls are extremely thin. There was little enforcement of quiet time past 10PM and we were woken up every few hours by a crying child in the adjacent room. No fault of the host but slightly frustrating for sure!

    Shannon2018-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for letting us stay there. Loved the place! Super clean and perfect for 4 people! Loved the location. About 30 minutes from the valley and about 10 min from badger pass ski resort which was very nice since it had just snowed! Defiantly would recommend this place and will hopefully be back soon!

    Danielle2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and cosy base for our three day Yosemite vacation. Although it is about a 40 minute drive from the Valley, that drive is very scenic so it was no hardship doing it every day! Fireplace was lovely. Bed covers were very soft and comfy. Nice to have plenty of towels provided. As advertised, no phone signal or wifi in the unit - guest wifi down the hall was good enough for downloading trail maps, although often overloaded with several people using it. Kitchen was very small but just about accommodated two (very friendly) cooks.

  • Enjoyed our stay! Great location and everything as expected in the ad. Just prepare for no wifi. Place was missing cooking oil too but aside from that everything went smooth! i highly recommend and would stay here again.

  • Chad was awesome to deal with! He was responsive to every question I had and went out of his way to make sure that I had everything I needed and that I'd be able to easily pick the gear up. When I ran into some issues and wound up getting to Yosemite later than I wanted, he was all too happy to adjust and make sure things still went smoothly. Next time I camp in the park, I'll definitely book with him again.

    Fabio2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was an incredible opportunity to experience Yosemite like this. Bringing all the gear with us to camp, on a long haul flight from Europe, would have been a nightmare. Having it sent to us via a camp crate was super easy & Chad was fantastic with help & advice all the time. As for the walk, it was priceless, I'd say moderate difficulty, carrying all our gear, but beyond worth it! The Pohono Trail was amazing, beautiful, awesome valley rim views, stunning creaks, pretty forest paths. Thank you Chad for offering this unique service - its brilliant and not to be missed if you want have a real outdoor experience!

    Su2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chad is a very good host. He created a bespoke itinerary to our taste. The equipment is strong. Would highly recommend this option to explore Yosemite.

    Bilal2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible experience Chad and CampCrate provided us with! Chat was tremendously helpful in ensuring our trip to Yosemite was perfect. The supplies were clean, easy to use and suited us perfectly. The backpacking trip that Chad planned for us was exactly what we were looking for. I'd recommend calling Chad before your trip to go over all the details. He's super helpful if you are new to the park and have lots of questions like I did. He can also tailor the trip to your needs and skill level.

    Jeff2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chad provided everything we needed for our camping trip to yosemite with no fuss or hassle. Coming from England, it was fab not to have to bring all our kit with us. When forest fire smoke changed our plans he had loads of great new suggestions that suited hiking with our three young kids and was always on hand for any help we needed. Couldn’t recommend him more - Camp Crate is a great idea, and perfectly executed by Chad.

    Max2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fantastic concept. Ideal for us as we are travelling round USA from Scotland for 2 weeks and didn’t want to bring our own camping gear. It meant we got a night in the middle of the wilderness in incredible Yosemite and got all the best tips from Chad and his team. Couldn’t recommend this enough!!

    Tessa2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time to Yosemite, and I was very nervous about camping in the woods by myself. Chad did a fantastic job answering all my questions and getting me prepared for the trip. Since I am not an avid camper, I wouldn't want to buy all new camping gear. So all the gear you receive is a great value for your money. I had read another review that said the Pohono hike was great for beginners, but personally, the trail was too much for me and I did not complete it. However, I still had an amazing time. The views are out of this world!

    Mandy2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Super interesting concept that Chad was able to execute on flawlessly. Thanks, Chad!
