  • What a beautiful, special place! We loved every part of our stay here. Wonderful house with all your needs, a deck to read on or watch the birds all day long!! A perfect retreat for us, we got time to do yoga and got to practise our guitar and ukulele in this welcoming and serene place! The tips in the guidebook are wonderful. We were delighted to find amazing vegan food at the live foods cafe!! Thank you for making our stay so memorable and for sharing your home with us :)

  • What a little beauty of a rustic hinterland gem. Jason communicates quickly and is very obliging. On arrival, music welcomed us and the touch of flowers greeted us. The shower needs some attention but highly recommend jasons place if you are looking for serenity.

    Wendy2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the warm, homely feel of Jason's cabin and all it had to offer. Gorgeous setting, birds chirping, green outlook and many beautiful touches around the home to make it so welcoming. Jason even provided some local organic veges plus a small jug of organic milk int he fridge too. Lovely! The only thing to note is the shower doesn't have much pressure therefore the bath takes quite a while to fill up. Not a complaint, just something to consider. Still worth the stay - we loved it! Would happily stay again!

  • Wanita’s cabin is the perfect getaway if you want to relax. I had minimal service but the WiFi worked great. The piano is a perfect touch to learn to play in your spare time. It was also lovely to have a fresh fruit basket on arrival.

This tiny cabin by the creek is for adventurous souls who want to feel like they are out in a bush setting, but enjoy a few creature comforts. You will be escaping to a rain forest setting and be able to relax, listening to the sounds of trickling water and bird song. NOTE: You need to be OK with using an outdoor shower (on the deck, protected by screening if you prefer more privacy) and an outdoor toilet. Take a break from internet, TV, phone etc. Only a 6 min drive into the township of Maleny
This is a unique little spot, especially appreciated by those who want to escape a hectic life for just a couple of nights and experience something memorable in a rainforest setting. It will be a bit like camping (outdoor shower and toilet) yet very cosy and comfortable inside the cabin. Dine outdoors, or inside if it is a little chilly. If you need to, this tiny cabin is only a 6 minute drive to the Maleny township, which is a vibrant little artistic town, full of lovely restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and more. The cabin has reverse cycle air conditioning, a queen size bed, a kitchenette and a lovely deck and barbecue to enjoy dining outdoors. The cabin has been lovingly built using recycled materials, a little rustic on the outside yet the interior has a modern, light and comfortable feel. Enjoy being 'unplugged' for a couple of nights. It's good for you!
Maleny is a wonderful little town. It is full of interesting and creative people who come and live here just to be in a beautiful part of the world and pursue their dreams. There are so many cafes and restaurants to choose from and absolutely stunning scenery. We are 20 mins from the Australia Zoo, which is amazing, and 40 mins to the coast. Fantastic beaches! In winter it can get quite chilly here, so bring your woolies.
  • So good! Right on the creek wich you can hear from bed easily Wich was very relaxing and It’s got the outdoor shower in the rainforest it’s so cool haha I really can’t wait to go back. Place was clean had everything you need and well priced! Will be back for sure!!

    Matt2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The rainforest cabin was just brilliant! So clean and cosy - the perfect little get away in nature. Lynda and Mark were lovely and so helpful. I thoroughly recommend.

    Fiona2018-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely incredible stay. A phenomenal little cabin tucked away in a beautiful little forest. Perfect for people who want to be close to nature. The outdoor composting toilet was neat and the outdoor shower was one of the highlights, the other being the gorgeous hosts, Lynda and Mark. Lovely people, very warm and welcoming. Felt very at home on our stay. Will definitely be back! Thank you again for everything.

    Liv2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my friend loved our stay at this little creek cabin. The photos hardly do this little cabin justice, it has such an all natural, tranquil and serene atmosphere! The perfect little get away from hectic life. Favourite part would have to be the lovely outdoor shower overlooking the river!

    Georgia2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Unique place; bush cabin with very nice deck, totally comfy bed, superb outside shower and wallabies in your backyard! Contact was also very easy.

    Harm2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lynda and Mark were very welcoming and accomodating hosts. The cabin was very clean and cosy with a great forest atmosphere and only a short drive from town.

    Danny2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • A cute cabin with a stylish and high end fit out. Everything very thoughtfully put together. Ideal hosts. Calming atmosphere. Occasional traffic noise from nearby road, but mostly just birdsong, trees swishing and creek flowing. Outdoor shower the highlight. Note: no Telstra signal within cabin but a few metres up the hill I got a bar.

    Tessa2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Best Airbnb I've ever stayed at! Immaculately clean upon arrival, all as described, comfy bed, outdoor shower and composting toilet experiences like we'd love to build for ourselves one day, and even though we had just one night there - we left feeling much more relaxed. Everything needed was there, and all as new and great quality - no skimping here. Met with Lynda briefly and she is such a decent soul, we would stay here again anytime. Definitely recommended. Perhaps to be aware of... there is a primary school nearby (so may hear children playing as well as birds and the stream) and a (mostly very quiet) road is also visible from the deck. If you're imagining middle of a rainforest (as I kinda was) then this may be helpful to know in advance, but overall as I said, this is the BEST AirBnB I've stayed at ever!

  • This rustic cabin was just what my partner and I needed. We travelled to QLD for a friend's wedding at Ocean View Winery (amazing) and arrived late in the evening at the cabin. The lights were on, bed was made and the cabin was clean and cosy. We don't really like big hotels so staying here covered the basics, was unique and down to earth. Location-wise it's perfect for exploring this beautiful area. Our hosts were lovely, plus their chicken was a friendly one too! Thanks guys!

    Callum2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 - Great stay and perfect weekend getaway. Phil was more than accommodating, the place was everything you needed and great location with so many local suggestions and exploring you can do! Will be coming back.

The River and Hinterland Retreat Cabin (we call Shalom) is a contemporary cabin on acreage by the Mary river and a rain forest with active bird life, and native flora. It's a great place to relax, dream, refuel, be creative, and enjoy the peace of the natural surrounds; or use as a base to explore the natural beauty, attractions, events, markets and cafes of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We are situated in Conondale between Maleny and Kenilworth on the tourist drive and Hinterland attractions.
Shalom is a peaceful mini acreage along the Mary river in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The neighbourhood and surroundings is peaceful. The cabin is self contained and the estate has shared grounds with paths around the property, mini orchard, chicken runs, bush tucker mini rain-forest (work in progress), fire pit and paths to the Mary river. While canoeing on the Mary we have seen platypus and turtles. Wildlife such as ducks, deer, turkeys and wallabies have roamed onto our yard to join the large variety of bird life. Use the wood barbeque and fire pit and enjoy the smells, sound and the thousands of stars that shine so bright in the hinterland. This is a great environment to learn a musical instrument, read your favourite book or paint a picture See more about growing food, sustainable living and life on the property at (Website hidden by Airbnb)
The Maleny-Kenilworth Road which is a popular scenic drive and Shalom (Conondale) is the half way point. There are a number of places to stop and check out in this beautiful part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Mary Valley and the Mary River.  The mountain range you see is the Conondale Range and the national park is called Conondale National Park which is listed as ‘an unspoilt and undeveloped park of harsh beauty’ and is home to many rare and threatened animals, including the Mary River Turtle.  Conondale, like many rural towns in South East Queensland, is pretty. The town might be a great spot for a chance to catch your breath during what is a very scenic drive but there is something about Conondale that is as subtle as it is magic. When travelling from Maleny, Conondale is the first opportunity to take a close-up and easy look at the river that gives its name to the valley through which it passes - the Mary River. Just near where the Maleny-Kenilworth Road crosses the Mary River, Fritz Park offers the chance for a picnic and time to contemplate exactly why this little village is so special. Conondale is distinctive because of its proximity to the rugged beauty of the range to its west called the Conondale Range. Within the Range a national park called Conondale National Park is an unspoilt and undeveloped park of harsh beauty. Conondale National Park protects important remnants of grassy open Eucalypt forest, tall wet sclerophyll forest and subtropical rainforest that once covered large areas of the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The park is the central undisturbed core of an extensive area of forest reserves in the Conondale Range and an important refuge for many rare and threatened animals, including the Mary River Turtle, which, until recently, had not been discovered. It is important to remember that this park is suited to very experienced walkers only. The turn off to the national park is about 15 kilometres north of Conondale at Sunday Creek Road. The turn is marked by a pretty park called Keith and Ivy Boon Memorial Park.
  • Great cabin surrounded by nature. The view from the kitchen on the forest is amazing. The cabin is located in the garden and is quite private.

    Robin2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Private spot in a quiet area in a lovely guess house that has everything you need. We woke up every morning listening the birds. The hospitality was absolutely awesome. Everyone was very kind and helpful, specially Malcom’s mom who showed us all the details plants and had a nice chat with her. Definitively recommended, we hope to come back in the near future. Thank you!

    Diego2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay here, it is a lovely space, very clean and everything we needed for our weekend getaway.

    Bec2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish and spacious cabin backing onto the rainforest. A great place to visit if you are seeking to rest and recharge in nature, as the large feature glass windows make you feel like you are living in the rainforest. Beautiful bird song and natural surrounds.

    Candice2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Shalom is easy to find, situated in a beautiful and quiet location. Malcom and Julie are outstanding hosts and we will definitely stay here again!

    Reegan2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I went up to Conondale as a getaway during the holidays. The place is a refreshing change from suburbia. We loved going to the local op shops, cafes, Gardeners falls and Malcolm and Julie are really lovely. The cabin is eclectic and has an “earthy” feel - a great space. We loved being surrounded by all the fruit trees and gardens. Kayaking on the river is a great pastime to do while you’re there as well as swimming in the waterhole at the end of the property.

    Ruby2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay if you want peace and quiet. A stylish space with a super comfy bed

When you wake up in your private studio to sensational, unrestricted views of the Conondale Valley, you will be glad that you chose to stay at 'The Space Between' .... the space between heaven and earth.
We are situated eight kilometers - or a mere eight minutes from Maleny - in Witta. Our property is both beautiful and private, with 270 degree views of the valley and mountains beyond. We are all about peace and serenity a place where you can relax and reconnect with nature enjoying the birdsong in the morning and the gentle rhythm of the horses ambling about in the paddocks surrounding the studio during the day. While you are with us you may feel cocooned by the mist drifting down the valley in the mornings, experience some spectacular sunsets in the evenings or even catch a glimpse of the eagles who visit us occasionally. The modern studio accommodation has its own entrance and large deck as well as the best views on the property. Open and bright, the studio has reverse cycle air conditioning and features a comfortable queen bed, ensuite, bar fridge, microwave & tea and coffee making facilities and a large flat screen TV with DVD/Media player and free Wi Fi. While the studio does not have full cooking facilities there is a second deck at the rear of the studio with an outdoor 'kitchen' Weber Q, sink and second fridge - perfect for capturing shade and a breeze in summer or morning sun for your first coffee in winter. The name ‘The Space Between’ comes from an Arabian proverb that says that horses occupy the space between heaven and earth, we hope you enjoy spending time in this space with us.
We are less than 10mins from Maleny in Witta and because we are off the main road very peaceful and quiet. If you are not here for a wedding or exploring this beautiful part of the planet in your travels you may be here to escape the city, relax and remember how restful green space is and how soporific the rhythms of nature can be. The natural beauty of the surrounding area makes bush walking a popular activity with walks catering for all levels of ability from Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and the Maleny Trail along the Obi Obi Creek to more challenging walks at Kondalilla Falls, Mt Ngungun to seriously challenging hikes up Mt Beerwah and Mt Tibbrogagun. Maleny is full of wonderful cafes catering for all tastes and the most decerning of coffee drinkers showcasing our wonderful fresh local produce. The beaches of the Sunshine Coast are 45mins away and after a day on the coast the serenity of the country will likely prove a welcome contrast.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pauline and Wayne were great hosts and very helpful, even managing to find dog friendly eateries for us which were open over the Christmas holiday. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with stunning views, and the fact that we were able to take our four legged member of the family made it the perfect place to stay. Thank you Bob, Nicola and Noodle

    Nicola2015-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Pauline and Wayne for letting us share your beautiful space, we feel like we have come upon a true gem dwelling wise and host wise. We feel privileged for briefly being part of your paradise that is illuminated by the Arabian horse spirit. We hope to make it back soon to get another dose of fresh air and thank you for your kind words. Jana&Francois

  • We were welcomed warmly again by Pauline. This is our second visit and as with the first we had a wonderful time. The views down the valley are second-to-none and to have the horses and their foals grazing in the paddocks lovely to see. The actual studio is exactly as shown - modern and very clean with lots of light and stunning views from every window even the bathroom. Pauline and Wayne are always ready to help in any way and if you are looking for a break away this one is the ultimate tree change.

Private guesthouse attached to our home on acreage. Stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland - views over rainforest to ocean. Peaceful, lots of morning birdsong. Private deck. Kitchenette inside. Cooking is at the BBQ area exclusively for our guests. Access to our heated salt water pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens. We provide continental breakfast items - cereals, bread, yoghurt, fruit, juice, condiments - and a selection of teas and coffees. For a single or couple, no children. No smoking.
Our guesthouse comfortably accommodates up to two people - no children please, and definitely no more than two people so please do not ask for more than two people to stay in the guesthouse. Very private and you can come and go as you please. The guesthouse is attached to the main residence but has private access so you have your own space entirely to yourself. Comfort and peace and quiet - the place to unwind and recover from the rush of modern life, or a good base to work from if you are in the area for business. Wake up to the sounds of native birds in the surrounding rainforest. Perhaps start the day with a swim in the salt-water pool. The guesthouse provides you most things you'll need including iron and ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries, TV and DVD player with USB port (also a selection of DVDs and books), access to WiFi, reverse cycle air conditioning, bathrobes, towels for use at our pool, and of course we provide all bed linen and towels in the bathroom so you do not need to bring your own. Inside the guesthouse there is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, electric kettle, sandwich press, fridge, crockery, cutlery, a dining table - the essentials for preparing your own snacks or salads. Cooking facilities and an outdoor dining area are available at the covered BBQ area adjoining the guesthouse, which is exclusively for our AirBnB guests. The BBQ area includes a side burner for wok/pot meals, a grill, and a hood for roasting. We provide cooking utensils, pots/pans, cooking oil and sauces. We provide a selection of coffees and teas and hot chocolate, including herbal teas and decaffeinated coffee. Included in the tariff we provide breakfast essentials such as several types of cereals, bread, milk, juice, yoghurt, fresh fruit etc for you to prepare your own continental breakfast. Please note that there are several steps down to the guesthouse, with a secure handrail to assist. If you usually have difficulty negotiating stairs then this may not be a suitable accommodation for you. The guesthouse is not accessible to those in wheelchair or walking frame. Business travellers are very welcome. Our property is eco friendly: our water supply is the rainwater we collect from our roof which is then filtered and pumped into the house, so it is pure and chemical free; we have an array of solar panels to generate electricity that helps reduce our reliance on electricity from the main power grid (guests' assistance in reducing our power bills by turning off all appliances/ceiling fan/Air con/lights when leaving the guesthouse each day is appreciated); we have our own biocycle waste treatment plant to treat all brown and grey water on site and the result is pure water that is then sprayed on the native vegetation; we have one solar and three gas hot water systems (it is a large house); and solar heating for the swimming pool; we recycle packaging and similar items and we encourage our guests to keep recyclables aside so we can dispose of them appropriately.
Our property lies within the Montville precinct but it is actually about halfway between Montville on the summit of the Blackall Range and Palmwoods located at the foot of the Range - please note that we are not within walking distance into Montville village and it is about a five minute drive to get to Montville. The area is very picturesque, peaceful, and Montville is a quaint village with much to offer tourists. The Blackall Range has many beautiful scenic views and towns, there are waterfalls and scenic walks through rainforest sanctuaries. The area is also known for its arts and crafts and galleries, and there are many award-winning restaurants in the area. We can provide some suggestions for things to see and do in the area - at time of booking please let us know if you'd like us to forward some local information and recommendations to assist your planning.
  • Staying at Arthur's and Megan's was a real treat. Such a beautiful part of the world! The room was perfect with an awesome view to the sea. Arthur and Megan were very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this place to others.

    Robert2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was very welcoming and accommodating as soon as we arrived! The apartment was perfect with an amazing view over the valley to the ocean and a sunrise to die for that can be watched from the comfort of the bed.. We loved the location, close enough to Melany and Montville but also high enough to get a great view and also some relaxing mountain air. We unfortunately had problems with our car. However Megan was great in helping us organise a mechanic to fix the problem asap, plus she drove us back and forwards from the apartment to the mechanics. And offered us another night of accommodation if we couldn't get our car back on the road! Couldn't thank you enough Megan. We had a great weekend despite the car problems!

  • The most amazing place to stay, when I first walked in the first thing that come to mind was - heavenly. The most loveliest friendly owners, had wine with Megan one night and farewell coffee with them both before we left. I highly recommend this place and we will be back to visit again.

  • Everything was absolutely wonderful. Arthur and Meagan had really great attention to detail - as soon as we stepped into the place it had a really homely smell and feel. The breakfast was so generous with local milk, yogurt, a selection of cereals and more. The appliances were great - TV, sandwich press, toaster, kettle, etc. The place was clean and tidy. We couldn't fault a thing! The place has amazing views however we had a manual car which was a tad difficult to get up the street - but okay after we got the hang of it.

  • Fantastic room, stunning views. Car is a must have in order to get around.

  • Basically lovely quiet neighbourhood with enticing views, which allowed me to recover quickly after my overseas trip. Hosts were friendly without being overbearing, which is great, and the guest flat was private and so very clean.

  • We had a lovely relaxing "mini break" at Lisa's apartment. Lisa and Gary welcomed us on our arrival, and were available throughout our stay if required. Apartment is very clean and private, with comfy bed, and all facilities for a short break. Quiet and peaceful, with wonderful views from the unit and the deck, and an assortment of goodies in the fridge to enjoy with the view! Wow! We highly recommend staying here!

  • Best way I can describe this Air BNB? WOW. Amazing accommodation. You pull up at the house in a lovely, quiet suburban street, and you don't believe that the photos in the ad could possibly be at that same house.... Until you walk around the main house towards your private home, and feast your eyes upon the absolutely unreal view overlooking the valley. The home itself is absolutely awesome value for money - you get a SUPER comfortable large bed (which overlooks the valley when you wake up in the morning), an awesome little kitchenette, and a lovely bathroom. The small touches make the place feel like a home away from home - a TV with Netflix (couldn't watch any though with that view right outside the doorstep!), a few complimentary goodies in the fridge, a basket full of books and magazines, another basket on the top of the fridge with brochures for restaurants, activities to do around the hinterland area etc., and another small dish with complimentary shampoos and conditioners. I don't know if it's possible to find better accommodation in this area! Lisa and Gary were so very friendly, very generous, and made me feel very, very welcome. THANK YOU SO MUCH for an absolutely incredible stay! I loved it to bits - and I WILL be back!

    Chelsea2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's studio apartment is great! It feels just like you are staying in a hotel room, with an amazing view of Maleny's rolling hills. We stayed here for a wedding and it was perfect. Highly recommend this place for a getaway to the mountains :)

    Gus2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place is close to town and amenities in Maleny. Lots of interesting places to visit and things to do. The accommodation was amazing and the view from the deck across the hill sides and misty valley's set the scene for a great stay. The ice creams in the fridge were a very thoughtful touch. One of the best AirBnB places we've stayed in. Don't miss the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. Great views of the Glass House Mountains and the Wildlife reserve is a must. Thanks Lisa for a great stay.

  • Beautiful tranquil spot. Loved the Saturday markets with a close community feel.

    Alli2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely and quaint. It’s in a really quiet area and perfect for relaxing. The spa and sauna are joined to another place and was shared, which we didn’t realize, but it wasn’t far away. Beautiful area too

    Kelly2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real nature retreat. It is secluded, beautiful and relaxing. Day bed was awesome! If you are a couple and love to have a getaway then it's for you. For us Spa and Sauna were completely private so that was added fun. This is remote from the public access and there is no internet or mobile reception. Kitchen facility is minimum but you can manage. Carry a good stock of food since the nearest town is about 25-30 min drive. But overall we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Izabella is excellent in communication. She clarified many things before I arrived here.

  • If you are looking for a place to escape peacefully with a beautiful view and a wonderful environment that is the place! This is an amazing little cottage where it feels warm to stay

    Juliette2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at the cottage. Super isolated and peaceful! Has everything you need to stay in and relax for the weekend. Close enough to Maleny and Montville for day trips. Compost toilet was a first for us and a little offputting but the spa and sauna made up for it! All in all a great place to get away.

  • Amazing little eco cabin in the hinterlands of the sunshine coast. This lodge is perfect for small stays like ours, or would act as an incredible hub to explore the local scenery, and relax in the peaceful tranquility of the cabin. Guarantee you'll feel so relaxed after taking a trip to this unique travel destination.

    Alexi2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is heaven on Earth! I was looking for "a little cabin in the woods", self contained, where I didn't have to leave if I didn't want to (which I didn't), and I also wanted somewhere not too far from Brisbane. Well, I couldn't have asked for a better place. The location: stunning! I felt like Snow White, but instead of dwarfs, I had kangaroos. ;-) Because you share the back yard (which is part of the forest) with only kangaroos and birds. The spa on the deck, overlooking the stunning views was amazing, as was the infra red sauna. My favourite thing was the day bed! That's where I spent pretty much my entire time, reading, sun bathing and just enjoying the views, the birds chirping, breathing in the fresh air, and doing yoga on that perfect for yoga deck. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, I brought yummy food and cooked, and just didn't leave that heaven. I also loved the fact that there was no reception, so I was able to completely switch off and allow myself to reconnect with myself, with nature and recharge, which was exactly what I was after. Izabella was great leaving some books in the cabin, which I really enjoyed reading one of them, she really did think of everything, even leaving a hair tie in the shower. I can't recommend this amazing place enough, if you're after complete relaxation, or even a romantic weekend away with your partner, this is the perfect "cabin in the woods"! It will most definitely become my to go to place when I am in need of some me time or just to recharge the batteries :-).

  • What a beautiful cute little cabin! We really enjoyed the tranquility of the birds, the beauty of the day bed and the spa is a must! Very private and gorgeous views. A good place to escape into nature and disconnect from technology!

This neat, modern and comfortable unit on our 5 acre property is perfect for a couple to getaway and enjoy the peaceful setting while looking out to the surrounding forested hills. Whether you want to walk, ride, attend Woodfordia, visit the Kilcoy Races, do watersports or fish at Lake Somerset and more, there is something in the vicinity for you. We welcome touring bikers as there are so many great day trips for the adventurous from here.
The unit was our home whilst we built the house that we currently occupy. With a full size fridge/freezer and other appliances, you have the option to prepare your own meals. We rely on tank water on our property and although it is plentiful, we would appreciate your mindfulness of our precious resource as you would at home.
  • Such a lovely location, Lesley is such a charming and thoughtful host who ensures everything you need upon arrival is readily available. A perfect location for a tranquil break from the daily grind.

    Dale2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful, private dwelling separate from the main house, with beautiful, elevated, rural views. We sat out on the large verandah to soak up the morning sun and watch the birds flitting about and feasting on the native flowers. Lesley and David have thought of everything that you could want, including very generous continental breakfast provisions. An easy drive to Kilcoy, Woodford, Somerset Dam and less than an hour from Maleny. Highly recommend a stay at Braeside, very reasonably priced for its rural location.

    Janette2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Braeside and won’t be our last. We particularly love the easy check-in and beautiful setting. The yummy fresh breakfast supplies are a lovely bonus! Thankyou Lesley & David for another perfect getaway.

    Kelly2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Lesley & David's place. The cottage was very spacious, comfortable, clean, updated with every single thing you want in your house! Though we had bit network issues being a Vodafone customer, we couldn't be in touch with the hosts. But hey, that's ok! You don't really need to be in touch with anyone to enjoy this beautiful place. David did see us before going away and gave all the information about house and surroundings. They have two lovely pets who would love to see you when you are available! The house was easy to find, instructions to check in were great. We are definitely coming back! Thank you!

    Karan2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic scenery...beautiful furnishings and linen... everything top quality....quiet...well priced....perfect!

    Petula2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything has been thought about to make a stay comfortable and convenient, including some breakfast and snacks. Great value- just to be in a clean and uncluttered place was relaxing. I'd call it semi-rural in an acreage development with great country views across paddocks to ranges.

    Marion2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is not great to be connected. Instead, this place is "just" great to be connected to everything really important in life: tranquility, nature, simple things, nice views, agreable scents, and an occasional visit from Abby & Kelly, the two playful bitches that will check on you and will want cuddles too. Your hosts Lesley & David are very interesting people, who focus on local resources and healthy living. They seem to love life in its simplest expression, close to nature, which is also what I favour. The place is out in the country, both close to all services (nearby Kilcoy) and far enough to have very quiet mornings, nice views of the surrounding hills, and a beautiful morning sun. This loft benefits from a very good insulation made above it, making it very liveable even on very hot days. It offers modern features, but the real bonus is the amount of little things that Lesley will have prepared for you to pick from, to make the place immediately functional, even in the case of a late self check-in. The North terrace is very pleasant to have your brekky on, and it is nice to read a book in the shade of the large trees just next to it. What was important to me was the absence of traffic to sleep well, and to find quiet roads to ride on, and I didn't have to look to far for those. I can't wait to find some time to go back again and have a really long unbroken sleep again.

  • Thanks very much Joseph and Jina for your generosity and hospitality! We had a wonderful girls’ getaway weekend. Joseph and Jina were very welcoming and considerate, and we had every thing we needed.

    Amy2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jo and Jina made us feel so welcome giving us a tour of the property, showing the kids the animals and making a campfire at night so we could roast marshmallows. Such a lovely peaceful spot. Accomodation is a huge shed, basic but very clean and tidy. Kids loved the ping pong table. Thanks Jo and Jina for a great stay!

  • We had a wonderful stay. It suit my family and myself to a ‘T’. The farm is stunning and the pet are so friendly and cute. Joesph was welcoming and wonderful host. If you have family and your kids love pets. You must come and stay. You won’t regret it. Thanks for everything Joesph

  • Very clean accommodation. Great location. It was close for day trips but also in a quiet and relaxing location. There were lots of nice things for the kids to play with- a few books, toys and a sandpit. We loved feeding the alpacas and looking around. The hammocks were a very nice touch. Thank you for providing some of the things we can easily forget to pack.

    Annika2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is in a beautiful location amongst rolling hills and farm land. While fairly basic, it had everything we needed and Joseph was extremely friendly and welcoming.

    Kimiko2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We were very happy with the accommodation. For the benefit of ABnBers these are some points. The place is a large building, very clean and presentable. Bedroom , shower and toilet are built into it leaving enormous space to living area with a kitchen. Good for kids. It can get hot inside or cold though the roof has insulation. |It was ok when we stayed there. Shower is hot, the kitchen has all you need and if you need more Joseph would certainly help. Outside it was great for our 2.5 year old grand son to run and p[lay in a sand pit + the animal feeding. The countryside is beautiful, calming and a pleasure to be there. Most of the area commercial attractions are about 20km away but walks are closer. Both Jina and Joseph were very kind hosts.

  • The stay at the Victorian Suite exceeded my expectations. Such a lovely weekend away with my partner. We watched the rain from our bathtubs and it was so beautiful. We had an amazing pizza from down the road and also walked to the waterfall that is right next door. I’ve never stayed somewhere so beautiful and peaceful, thank you Amanda.

  • My husband wanted to do something special for my birthday with our 4 month old son. He chose to surprise me and would not tell me where he was taking us. He blind folded me in the car for the 40min car trip (not recommend if you get car sick as it is up and down and around some windey roads - lucky for me I was fine). When we got there, the automatic gate opened for our car. Inside we were pleasantly welcomed by Ian. He showed us around and explained all the home had to offer for our stay. There was a complimentary cheese platter, some sherry for the night time, some delicious slices and a very thoughtful birthday card and gift. I was so taken back by the beauty of the surrouds, the views from the balcony were so natural and serene. The deck baths on the balcony looked incredible. Inside the decor was luxurious and antique, you could see that every detail had been taken care of - Everything had a place and a function - the ambience of the electric fireplace set the mood. The lounge suite was cumfy, the bed was snuggly, the outside baths were a unique treat. Bathroom, shower and kitchen had everything you could ever need (except a freezer - not a big deal, but just if you are packing food from home to be aware of). We also swam in the pool and took a short stroll to Maple falls. We we're also lucky enough to be offered a late chack out on our last day. This made our day with our son much easier . Also travelling here with a baby was great and we provided our own portable cot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a luxuriously private, romantic nature, getaway. It blew away all my expectations and I would definitely stay here again. One thing, as it is pretty much a bush setting, mosquitos were out. There was plenty of spray and coils about which was great!! Thank you Ian and Amanda for sharing your space with us, you guys truly live in a beautiful part of the world.

    Daniel2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful B&B choice. Amanda and Ian have created a stylish and welcoming place to enjoy the stunning views of Mapleton. A cheese plate and wine on arrival with delicious breakfast foods prepared for a BBQ was lovely. We didn't use the baths however we enjoyed a dip in the pool overlooking the scenery. Thanks again, we thoroughly recommend

    Simon2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are seeking a luxurious, quite and beautiful getaway we can not recommend this accommodation more. The romantic touches, the comfort and the outside baths were above and beyond what we expected.

  • We had a terrific weekend getaway at Amanda & Ian’s. The property is in a beautiful area, very close to the nearby falls and feels private and peaceful. They have put together a lovely space with lots of thoughtful touches and fully equipped for all your needs. We particularly enjoyed the cheese platter, fresh eggs and the baths on the deck - a must do! Amanda and Ian were really helpful and easy to contact if needed. It was my partners birthday and they even left wine and cake - very kind! A wonderful retreat - highly recommended!!

  • Robyn's place is cosy and comfortable. Very clean with a lovely comfy bed, modern bathroom and workable kitchen. The room lets in a lot of natural light which is very pleasant. A short drive to town and walks. Would definitely recommend Robyn's place...

  • Robyn is a fantastic host, very responsive and made checking in very easy. The home made chutney was a lovely touch. The place really felt like your own little country home, even if just for one night.

  • For us, Robyn's cottage was the perfect escape from the city. It is such a tranquil space, and we slept extremely well in the big comfy bed with nothing but the soothing sound of rain. It's beautifully renovated and Robyn certainly has quite the eye for detail with all the beautiful decor and finishing touches that truly are the icing on the cake for this delightful cottage. Robyn and Gary were both so welcoming and warm. We highly recommend!

  • My husband and I were in Maleny for a wedding, and booked to stay at Robyn's cottage for the weekend. It was a great find! The cottage is delightfully cute, clean and comfortable, and Robyn is a warm and welcoming host. She was thoughtful - providing us a specific car park, leaving the outside light on for our arrival, providing simple breakfast things. We would stay here again and would happily recommend others to do so!

    Leesa2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we picked Robyn's and Gary's home to stay overnight everything just became so easy, Robyn's communication was great and fast, the home and surroundings are beautiful. When you leave you have a sense that everything was just perfect... Thank you Robyn..

  • We had an amazing time at Dorine's place. Not only was the communication really good from the booking onwards but she also took the time to come and say hello and goodbye. Always good to have a chat with locals who can recommend places to visit! The breakfast hamper made our stay extra special too. We highly recommend! The place is beautiful, unique and spotless! Perfect for a relaxing family weekend away!

  • Beautiful unique property, lovely touches, definitely recommend the local hamper. Great hosts

    Glen2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a sweet, cosy and clean home this is. Dorine was a very kind and thoughtful host. Nice and close to town, but very private and surrounded by trees. We’ll be back!

    Louise2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you want somewhere quirky and unusual, with character alongside modern elements, look no further. Cob heart house is unique yet a relatively new build so everything is solid. You feel like you're in another world, the earthy walls are like whitewashed tree stumps growing up out of the house. There are rustic touches throughout the decor, and modern where you need it - extremely comfortable lounge room couches and beds, choices of pillows, clean modern bathroom, well equipped kitchen. I can't fault anything about it, and wish I could have stayed longer. Oh - and order one of the hampers, aside from taking care of breakfast, the home made goodies are delicious.

    Sharron2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful in every way - the home, the host, the fireplace and the little extras! A beautiful place to stay in a lovely destination. Thanks Dorine!

Our self-contained studio is beautifully finished and furnished, perched on a hillside overlooking rainforest, and yet only five minutes from the town of Maleny. The perfect location for a luxurious retreat.
The studio is in a beautiful and secluded place in the Obi Obi Creek valley, about five minutes out of the town of Maleny, on the east side. Montville is ten minutes away, the Sunshine Coast half an hour. The main house is about eighty metres away so it's private and quiet, the noisiest thing you're likely to hear are the birds, of which there are many!
Maleny is wonderfully diverse, both a service town for the surrounding farms and a cultural centre with bookstores, cafes, fine restaurants and a thriving community of artists and writers.
  • Steven was a charming host ... friendly, warm & helpful whilst also respectful of our space. Kaalba actually exceeded our expectations! We felt like we were transported magically into our own private forest a world away from civilisation! And yet the local townships were very nearby & accessible within a 5-10 minute drive depending on Maleny Vs Montville. The dwelling itself was classy, contemporary and fitted out with both thought & good taste. To wake up to that view .. how blessed was that! We envision many visits back to this forest oasis ...

    Anna2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely weekend. Steven made us feel very welcome. The setting was tranquil and the accommodation was extremely comfortable, and private. I highly recommend staying at Kaalba.

  • Steven's flat in Maleny was incredible. Spotlessly clean, and beautifully put together. We had everything we needed and more. Steven went over and above to make sure our stay was enjoyable. I've stayed in quite a few places in Maleny, but this has quickly moved to the top of my list. Highly recommend and I would love to stay again.

    Jake2014-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kaalba was everything we expected and more. The space is so open meaning you are able to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Steven is a fantastic host and we are looking forward to visiting a second time.

  • This was an amazing place in a magical location. Steven was there to greet us and made us feel very welcome. He offered some great suggestions for walks, wildlife and places to eat. The place was clean, modern and had everything we could have needed. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of the birds and treetop views. Thank you Steven for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

    Anna2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Steven and Chris are warm and welcoming hosts and have created a beautiful retreat in this very tranquil setting. Kaalba was delight-a perfect little place to escape to for a few nights. Everything was as described and there were even some unexpected extras e.g. home grown bananas, freshly ground coffee and Chris's Anzac biscuits. I look forward to returning in the near future.

A lovely spot to spend a few days - just a walk to the village (which is a great place to explore), and a short drive to some beautiful walks and spectacular scenery. We loved the peace and quiet and the view from the deck (and the live-in possums). The apartment has everything you need - we will definitely be back again.

We have a very central location, only minutes to the highway, so you can venture to Eumundi Markets, Noosa beaches and National park or the hinterland and see Montville and Maleny. In the other direction we have Australia Zoo or the Glass House Mountains or venture east and you have the beautiful Sunshine Coast beaches to choose from . All this is on our doorstep and most only a 15 to 30 minute drive..
The cubby is very small and cosy (the size of a small bedroom) with a small deck and a lovely outlook of the bush. It has a queen bed in it, wall fan and one whole wall is made of fly screen so you feel very close to nature, it is our version of glamping! The cubby is close to the main house and next to the pool. There is a seperate bathroom toilet nearby ( approx 20 metres walk) and will be for your use, during your stay. There is a bbq/gazebo area to enjoy and an outside fridge nearby if you require to store any food or beverages. There is an outdoor kitchenette next to the pool area with hotplates, kettle, toaster ,sink etc for any cooking you may wish to do plus the bbq. There is a small t.v for dvds and a USB stick only and there is wifi access.
I love that we are far enough away from everything to enjoy the peace and quiet of acreage living and yet close enough as not to be inconvenienced by constant traveling . We have wonderful little cafes and eateries only 10 mins away!
  • The place is gorgeous, and the hosts were wonderful. We definitely recommend The Cubby and would love to return.

We enjoyed Jo's wonderful hospitality, a fabulous cubby sitting in perfect nature, and a stunning pool area. Away from Sunny Coast frenzy, this place is ideal for your second honeymoon.

"The Elegant Elephant really is a pot of gold in the AirBnB world" - Jim Ramsay, August 2016. A beautifully decorated, self-contained guest house nestled in the heart of the majestic Glass House Mountains, in a quiet, tranquil and peaceful setting amongst the kookaburras, guinea fowl and eucalyptus trees. We are only a 10 minute drive to the world famous Australia Zoo, 30 minutes to the coast and a beautiful, scenic 30 minutes up the range to the picturesque towns of Montville and Maleny.
"Better than a 5 star Hotel!" - Megan Whiting, October 2016. The Elegant Elephant is situated in peaceful, quiet surroundings on over an acre of property which is home to many native bird species (including kookaburras, cockatoos, etc). The guest house is large and private, with two separate well appointed bedrooms (one which is en-suite). There is a generous open plan living area opening up onto your own private patio which overlooks the well maintained gardens and swimming pool.
Rising from the low lying Sunshine Coast landscape, the domes, cones and spires of the Glass House Mountains fascinate geologists and artists alike. • Beautiful, clean & comfortable in a wonderfully peaceful setting. After a weekend camping in the sand, Amanda's place was a total treat. Great location for exploring the nearby area too. Highly recommended!

    Tessa2016-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place is located in scenic glass house mountains. The property is private and quiet. Very close to Mt Ngungun. The host is very welcoming and have thought of all the small details that made our stay comfortable. We wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks Amanda!

  • This home is absolutely marvelous ! Beautifully decorated and great gardens around the house. Location was perfect for us as we were visiting the Australia zoo. Amanda is a fantastic host. Great communication all along and helpful suggestions on things to do. We had some stormy weather and Amanda so graciously helped us with ways to navigate the situation. She even called the emergency response line to get us the current info on roads/weather. Super super host. Thumbs up and highly recommend.

  • We had a fantastic time at the Elegant Elephant. The location was perfect for us and we enjoyed the area for our holiday. We could go to Australia Zoo, explore the mountain area including the Maleny Botanical Gardens but we were also only 30mins or so from the beach. We really enjoyed the special touches at the house like the local milk and fresh eggs as well as the muffins and chocolates that were waiting for us when we arrived. Amanda and her family were very hospitable and friendly but also gave us our own space. Their yard is beautiful with lots of bird life, green grass and a beautiful aspect including a great view of Mount Ngungun out of the kitchen window. The house is very clean with fresh and fashionable décor. The linen was high quality and the beds were very comfortable. To be honest, I don't think the accommodation or holiday could have been any better. We would like to visit again if we ever return to the area. Thanks!

  • We wish we could have spent more time at Amanda’s guesthouse. We really loved the place, which was very clean, spacious and had a beautiful garden. The surroundings were great too, right in the middle of the beautiful Glasshouse Mountains. We received a warm welcome from Amanda and communication both before and during our stay was really smooth. Highly recommended!

    Rebecca2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • It is a perfect stay for a short getaway from city life. The house itself is nicely decorated and the layout of the living room and kitchen provide a large space for interaction. Most importantly, the garden/playground/pool/farm/"zoo" area brings you back to luxury farm stay. Amanda and Paul are the most lovely host you can ever find. They welcome us with sincerity and shared with us some interesting places (which are also the MUST visit - Lookout point, Rainbow beach). P.S We will be back.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Joe’s farm stay. It was beautiful under the stars on a clear night! We stayed in the yurt style tent, which was clean and tidy. Joe was fantastic, we enjoyed feeding his hobby farm animals. Good value for money, fun night away!

Figtrees on Watson is located only 6 minutes from Maleny in the peaceful Reesville area. The house (comprising two self contained apartments) is beautifully positioned on a ridge with panoramic views across the Conondale Valley. It is set back and hidden from the road in a tranquil setting with lush established gardens and natural rock features. The high raked ceilings, glass doors and wide verandahs provide a bright and airy setting to sit back and take in the views and sounds of nature.
The apartment (which we have dubbed Betharam – the hill house) is well equipped with a chef's kitchen, gas fireplace, fans and air-conditioned bedrooms. Modern appliances, cookware and utensils are provided so you can enjoy a quick snack or an in-house cooked meal. Basic pantry staples are provided along with a continental breakfast hamper. This high ceiling apartment has two large bedrooms (1 King bed and 1 Queen bed), modern bathroom with spa bath (shower over) and large open plan living/dining area (with a King single sofa bed for overflow sleeping). Quality bedding and linen is used throughout and toiletries are also provided. The wide verandahs and outdoor seating provide the perfect place to soak up the panoramic views which are spectacular any time of the day but morning and evenings are exceptionally beautiful.
  • Patricia and David are very generous hosts and have thought of everything to make you feel truly at home - a delicious breakfast hamper, chocolates, and lovely toiletries to name a few. The home is warm, stylish, well-equipped with stunning gardens and a knock-out view to match. We didn’t want to leave this little slice of heaven. Thank you Patricia and David for everything.

  • What. A. Place. My friend and I visited for a girls weekend away and we had such a beautiful time. The house was immaculate and the views even better in person. A welcome hamper was waiting for us with breakfast essentials, coffee, local produce, and fresh fruit. The kitchen; my gosh was it well stocked with every utensil you could ever need - picnic set, wine glasses, ice bricks, actual ice, crackers and dip board; everything! The bed was immensely comfortable, the linen was very high quality and clean, and the pillows were heavenly (also great views from the bed, which were lovely to wake to). The house is light and airy, with beautiful breezes and the outdoor area which overlooks the carefully manicured gardens and stunning valley is incredible. There are numerous areas to relax outside, with 3 different outdoor settings to choose from as well as the comfortable hanging chair. Our stay was perfect - much better than we could have imagined and we thank you for such a lovely weekend away.

  • David and Patricia made the experience wonderful and their place is absolutely amazing. They arranged for a personalized hamper for us that above and beyond. The house felt warm and was perfect for us to recharge in on our stay. Massively recommended. Mason

  • Wow! Amazing part of the world, so quite, so peaceful, amazing view over the valley, we left feeling so relaxed. The house is perfect and cleab, large rooms, beautiful breeze, very well equipped kitchen with a beautiful local food hamper awaiting our arrival. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

  • THE BEST Airbnb experience so far. I gave only 5 stars rating to David and Patricia because there was no 6 stars for me to choose from!!!

    York2018-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful stay at Figtrees. The view was stunning, the fire cozy, the bed comfy, the breakfast hamper had delicious local goods, the kitchen had everything we could need including picnic wear and ice bricks. The spot was very quiet and peaceful but not far from Malany or local walks. Lots of lovely touches to enjoy by thoughtful hosts.

The cottage caters for a single person or romantic couple preferring their privacy, or even a small family. Also available are some of the little guest essentials from a high chair through to toys and a see-saw. Just ask!

The world famous Glass House Mountains and Australia Zoo are on our doorstep and arguably some of the best beaches in the world, found on the Sunshine Coast, are a short drive away (Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Coolum and Noosa to name drop but a few!).
  • Toni was lovely and very helpful, but also respectful of our space. The detached small house at the back of their property was clean and lovely. Overall I highly recommend staying here!

  • Fantastic place to stay for the weekend! Cottage is very comfortable and cosy for a family of 4. Toni was an amazing host!!

    Nick2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cottage to stay a short distance from Maleny. Toni keeps the place spotless for all her guests and the shower is super hot - just right for cold Melany nights! So arrive, unpack and relax. Too easy!

  • Fantastic cottage and spot in Maleny.

    Joel2017-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here very much as a base to explore the local area. Toni sends a lot of useful information before arrival so worth re checking that before arriving. Toni is a very friendly host with good suggestions about what to do in the area. The cabin is a really lovely, bright, clean and well equipped home away from home.

    Ruth2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to stay for a wedding at Maleny Manor (only 5 mins away). Toni was very accommodating providing breakfast and advice on places to visit and eat while in the area.

    Amanda2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend staying here! We were so impressed and delighted with the beautiful little cottage, we couldn't stop talking about to family and friends. Toni was a great host and so thoughtful, we found her easy to deal with right from the start. We had a friend's wedding just down the road at Maleny Manor and the location was so convenient that it gave us a peace of mind knowing we were only a few minutes away from our little one (who was staying with her grandfather back at the cottage). We're already looking for excuses to come stay in Maleny again!

    Rebecca2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Toni is a great host who went out if her way sending us ideas on hikes in the area and great places to eat. The cottage is a good size and super clean. Toni uses all organic products which I loved so much I now use them at home. We were given the utmost privacy at all times and had a lovely daily surprise of fruit on our door step. The location is close to Malany and Montville and great for exploring. Toni provides great breakfast provisions. I would highly recommend her place and look forward to our next visit.

  • Belltree Ridge is even more beautiful than the photos. We had a wonderful 2-night stay with another family and are already planning our next visit. There was plenty of room for us all and the little ones were well catered for. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind. Beautiful views and a nice wide wrap around veranda to enjoy it from. The house itself is gorgeous and so much thought has been put in to layout and amenities. Fresh flowers and treats from local providers were nice touches. The animal feeding was a highlight and Trish and Paul really made sure the children enjoyed it. They were lovely and accommodating. It was a fantastic experience

    Kay2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This property is really special. A labour of love built by Trish and Paul and a residence they should be proud of. The furnishings and inclusions were comfortable, homely and well considered. We had a wonderful time and were not left wanting anything as everything was there. Communication with the hosts was great and the invitation to feed the animals on their property was loved by the kids. This place is ideal for people wanting fresh air, expansive views, a place to drink tea and read a book in warm afternoon sun or for those wanting to unwind with family and friends.

    Brett2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great holiday! This was the perfect place to enjoy some well needed rest and relaxation. The house is as beautiful as the scenery surrounding it. We loved waking up to the sound of the birds and being paid a visit from the friendly cows. We made the most of the fire pit as the sun set and the log burner later in the evenings. Thanks again to Trish and Paul for inviting us up to see all the other animals, it was really good fun. Also for your warm welcome, hospitality and for making our trip so pleasant and comfortable. It's safe to say we didn't want to leave Belltree Ridge. We hope to be back again soon. Thanks again, Carrie, David, Barbara and Terry

    Carrie2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • My Mum and I had a wonderful stay at Belltree Ridge. Relaxing on the huge verandahs and taking in the beautiful views was a highlight. Reading by the fireplace and drinking cups of tea was warm and cosy. The house was very clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable. The handmade soap was luxurious and soaking in the claw foot bath delightful. Trish was very friendly, welcoming and helpful during our stay. Thank you for going above and beyond to make our stay so memorable. Liz & Sharon

    Sharon2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a place of great beauty and comfort to unplug, relax and recouperate then this is the place for you. We stayed for a week in winter - a Queensland winter that is - fires during the day on the cooler days and dinner by the campfire one night. You’ll need a car as it’s a little bit off the beaten track (it feels that way but in fact is only 10 minutes from lovely Maleny). When we woke up this morning we were in the clouds and there were cows and their calves hanging out in front of the house. Thoroughly recommend.

The Upper House @ 70 Acre Wood is a tranquil one-bedroom mountain cabin overlooking Lake Baroon. It is an easy five-minute drive from Maleny main street, but feels miles away from the bustle. Suitable for couples and solo travellers who relish calm and solitude.
The Upper House started life over 20 years ago as a milking shed, and has since been converted to various uses. It was gutted in 2015, and renovated into a private guest cabin. Various elements from the original shed have been preserved, such as the block walls, the concrete floor, the exposed steel beams on the ceiling, and the large openings that used to accommodate roller doors. The Upper House sits on the highest point of the land, hence its name. It has panoramic views of Lake Baroon (a straightforward 10min drive away), the surrounding hills and woods, and huge skies. This is a space that invites you to spread out and do nothing too strenuous: Sit back on the couch and gaze for hours at the light changing over the water and land, with your music playing over the Bluetooth Harmon Kardon speaker (the acoustics are pretty good). Dive into the king-sized bed with your favourite person, book or device (there are built-in USB charging points next to the bed and plentiful wifi). Relax in the sunken bath. Watch wallabies feed outside the floor-to-ceiling windows at dusk. Sit on the lawn at 2am and take in the stars and Milky Way. Wake at 6am to watch clouds blanket the water and hills, and then go back to bed. It's that kind of space.
Maleny was a logging town but after the 1920s, became a dairy and cattle town. In recent years, it has attracted musicians, artists and artisans and has also become well known as a health retreat, nature and wedding destination. There is a local Sunday market at Maleny RSL with Eumundi, Yandina and Witta markets nearby. Maleny Dairies (award winning milk), the Maleny Cheese Factory (award winning cheeses), Colin James (gelato and sorbet), Maleny Coffee (coffee beans and ground coffee), Maleny Wagyu (beef) and Brouhaha Brewery (beer) are famous local producers.
  • Great place for a quiet getaway. Cabin had great views and was very private. The place was just as the pictures, if not better! Spa bath was a plus as well

  • I would recomend this place to anyone! A beautiful cabin with absolutely everything you need. My partner and I were so relaxed, we didnt want to leave. Close enough to the centre of Maleny (shops, markets etc) but also far away enough to feel like you are in paradise. I can't wait to come back here one day and enjoy another picnic on the lawn overlooking the stunning views. LOVE. Thanks Mei!

You really didn't need to leave this place! Whether you fancied making a coffee and relaxing on the sofa looking out the huge glass windows towards lake Baroon or having a long relaxing bath, this place just oozes style! We couldn't recommend this place enough and will definitely be back soon! Thank you for offering such an amazing place!

The name of house is Ngurra, which means birds nest, and it is an ideal spot for birdwatchers, walkers, artists or those who simply need a tranquil timeout from hectic city life. This romantic period cottage has been recently extensively renovated and set up for guests. Surrounded by bushland and with expansive views, it is the perfect spot for those wanting to experience nature in beautiful surroundings. Popular beauty spots Maleny and Montville are close by and the beach is a 30 minute journey
The cottage is arranged to be perfect for two couples as it has 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. When one couple books, we close off the second bedroom and bathroom to reduce cleaning. The couple then has the luxury master with the ensuite with the spa bath. The base price is for 2 people sharing one bedroom. There is a surcharge of $30 if two bedrooms are used by 2 guests to reflect the extra cleaning. The fully equipped kitchen boasts a dishwasher and a large s/s stove and fridge. Both bedrooms have four poster beds and the master bathroom contains a free standing spa bath . There are numerous nice touches, such as produce when available from our farmlet, board games, dvds and art materials. A vintage style picnic basket and a small esky are in the cupboards awaiting your excursions . The kitchen larder is stocked with basics such oil, salt , herbs etc. We are just down the hill if you need us, but our house can not be seen from Ngurra or visa versa. The house has a DVD player and smart tv with USB ports and HTML connectivity but the house currently has no wifi. If required use your own 3G through your phone or just enjoy a break from the internet. Mobile coverage is quite good. Postscript : 1 person has had issues getting a strong mobile signal, bear in mind that in much of rural Australia, only Optus and Telstra provide reliable service.
There are some small shops for fruit and veg in Peachester, three minutes away, as well as a petrol pump. There is a cafe in Peachester also. Beerwah, which has 3 major supermarkets, in addition to numerous restaurants and specialty shops is 11 minutes away.
  • This spot is incredible. Hosts go above and beyond here. It is a beautiful home in a peaceful setting with a gorgeous view. Great for star gazing. Ngurra has magic - we will be back..thank you.

    Chantelle2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This house is magic. The whole experience was exceptional and we loved our visit. Jeremy and Celeste have created a little dream home and have presented it impeccably as well as providing all the creature comforts you would expect at home. I would recommend this place to anyone, but don't tell too many people because we will be back for sure. Thank you for making a special occasion even more special. Perfect for us all. Dave, Fi, James and dog Duke.

    David2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ngurra is the perfect blend between secluded and accessible. It was close to Maleny and Montville, yet it was located in a private area that made us feel like we were coming home to our own place each night. The place has a beautiful kitchen, was immaculately clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Every day we'd wake up to bright birdsong and a brilliant view out the back deck. It was perfect. There were so many personal and thoughtful touches from our hosts that made our stay even more enjoyable. They provided us herbs from their garden and let us pick pak choy and lettuce from the garden out back, which we used for a picnic (basket provided!) and some dinner. Ample DVDs and board games were also provided, you'll never get bored! We were also particularly impressed by our hosts using eco friendly products in the house and decanting them so as to avoid plastic. Stay here, you won't regret it.

    Joseph2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy and Celete’s house was spotless, felt warm and homely and was such a nice place to stay for our weekend away. Would definitely come back again!

    Caboolture, QLD, Australia

This home is cloistered amongst the trees beside the tranquil Caboolture River. In spite of its easy access to everything, it is deceptively quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Caboolture is halfway between the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane, 45 mins to Eumundi, Woodford, Maleny and 30 mins to Australia Zoo. Well suited to older families or friends travelling together, solo adventurers, business travellers & couples.
This unit is separated from the main house by an internal door and has its own external access. It consists of a bedroom which is quite large and a private sitting room over looking the river which can be reconfigured as a second bedroom. Both rooms have direct access to the outside and a private patio. You have an ensuite, and in the bedroom, a small kitchenette with a sink, toaster, jug, microwave and a small refrigerator. It is compact and convenient, similar to what you would find in a motel.
Caboolture is a pretty town located half way between Brisbane and the Sunshine coast, its a good central space if you are wanting to visit both areas.
  • Always great here and the birdsong you can hear from the river is lovely too.

Welcome to 'Iris Cottage" a modern 1950's style cottage in name sake of my belated mother. • Thanks Cherryl House and everything you provide was amazing. Our kids absolutely loved it and asked more than once could we move in. Thanks again Amelia

    Amelia2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a pleasant stay in Iris Cottage. Lovely host & beautiful abode. It truly felt like a home from the better years with high ceilings & surprising spaciousness. My 2 yo daughter loved that there were books, toys, cartoons & many kinds of food to choose from, comfortable beds & furniture - everything we needed for such a low price - Cherryl is so thoughtful in both provisions & decor. It's an honour to have experienced it in as original condition as possible yet with all the right modern touches. The Airconditioning was an absolute Godsend in the high summer heat of January! We loved every bit & will visit again. Thanks again Cherryl!

    Adrielle2017-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Iris Cottage oozes comfort and wonderful memorabilia. The home of Cheryl's Mum, it is furnished with fascinating & tasteful reminders of a past generation. A most comfortable and convenient residence, with bus at the front door and so much more than the basic needs inside! Cheryl is the most gracious and generous hostess. Super clean house, comfy beds, more than adequate supplies of everything (& more!) you could possibly need, so thoughtfully provided. Amazing food provisions - very appreciated & a wonderful variety. Large back yard, ideal for off street parking and children's play area. This was our first Air B&B, but doubt many - if any - could equal the value, comfort, convenience & personal extra touches to that we fully appreciated during our recent one week stay. The immediate atmosphere when arrived felt like home and we were sorry to leave, but plan to return.
