Fergus communicated with us as soon as we made the booking. We were going to Canberra for a specific event (Australian Running Festival) and he provided answers to all my questions about the unit and accessing the race venue. Our daughter is in the Elite running group and maintains a rigorous diet and excercise regime. Prior to races she prepares most of her own food so kitchen facilities are important. We did ask Fergus about where we could get a "healthy pre race breakfast" and his recommendation of Local Press was spot on. They were very busy with people waiting for a table to be vacated, but being a small group we were seated reasonably quickly. There are more units going up in the area so opening a cafe similar to Local Press would be a great business opportunity for someone. Shortly before our visit Fergus let us know he was unable to greet us personally because of a family event. He was most apologetic and sent us very clear, detailed instructions about how to access the unit. He also sent a detailed, thoughtful response to my question about restaurants and cafes in the area. On the day we arrived in Canberra Fergus phoned about 15 minutes after we got to the unit to check that everything was okay and that we had been able to access the unit. The unit and location were accurately depicted in the photos and description on the Airbnb website. It was exactly what we wanted: two bedrooms and two lovely bathrooms; open, light living space with a balcony; good cooking facilities and well equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean and the unit was tastefully decorated. One of the big advantages for us was the proximity of the unit to the main race venue (Old Parliament) lawns. It was a pleasant 25-30 minute walk, most of which was on the pedestrian/cycle path on the edge of the lake. Our daughter was able to walk to a pre race event for the Elite group on Saturday afternoon, do a warm up run to the venue the morning of the race and we were able to walk to the finish line. There are many tourist attractions within walking distance of the unit such as the National Art Gallery. We were also within walking distance to a supermarket for supplies. The location of the unit is excellent. It is right on the lake waterfront and is a few minutes on foot to the restaurant/cafe strip in Trevillian Quay. Sunday after the race we enjoyed a visit to the Bus Depot Market, which was just across from the restaurant strip. The unit would also be great for a more extended stay as it has a car space. The highlight of the trip was our daughter, Ruth, won the female event of the Marathon. She improved her PB by 8 minutes. It must have been the great accommodation!

Our apartment was close to perfect. The kind hosts provided a spotless apartment, with all the amenities including crisp fresh linen and towels, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, tea, coffee etc etc etc. It was as good as, if not better, than a hotel. Our kids loved the pool which has an infinity edge looking straight down Lake Burley Griffin. The apartment is in a great new precinct with bars, restaurants and cafes. Thanks Fergus for a great stay. We will definately be back!

This apartment is in the best location in Canberra for exploring everything the city has to offer right on the lake foreshore with great cafes and restaurants at your doorstep. The apartment was perfect for us (2 couples) with our own separate bathrooms and comfortable beds, we also had 2 underground parking spaces which was fantastic. When I researched places to rent in Canberra I found similar 2br apartments in building complexes near the Kingston shopping centre, these were all almost $100 more per night and no where near as nice as this one! Fergus our host was amazing, and I would highly recommend using Airbnb and this apartment for anyone needing accommodation in Canberra. Thank you, we are very happy!

One of the highlights of the cycle trip. Adrian was very helpful, trusting and easy going. A total pleasure staying with him. Totally changed my view of Cooma, having such a charming hidden valley over the other side of the River. My first time with Airbnb, but just what I imagined the spirit of it should be about. And very generous with the reasonable price.

Adrian's cottage is a beautiful place to spend a few days next to the Snowy Mountains. He's a great host, a very nice guy internationally travelled and extraordinarily gentle. He may share his vast experience about the region and his deep knowledge in trekking and skiing. You will feel really at home at Cooma, a charming town not far away from Perisher Valley. The cottage is sorrounded by farms under the gum tree woods, so it's really peaceful and calm. House heating works good, bed rooms are very comfortable and one of the bathrooms looks like a wooden Swedish sauna! We would like to keep in touch with Adrian, so he's an extraordinay man and we'd doubtless choose again his place if ever we want to come back to the Snowies.

The building is centrally located quiet and older-style from the exterior. What a pleasant surprise awaited us when we opened the door to this apartment. It is modern, well-furnished, spotlessly clean & comfortable. The bed is very comfortable with fresh crisp linen. The kitchen is well-appointed, with coffee, tea & fresh milk in the fridge, again all spotlessly clean. There's an informative guide to the local area & restaurants in the lounge room. I've worked in the hospitality industry for many years, and everything has been provided for guests' comforts. Shane has done everything in his power to ensure an enjoyable stay. I would just mention that if any intending guests have mobility issues, there are outdoor stairs up to the apartment, and access to the shower cubicle could pose difficulties. I'd suggest you check with Shane. We will definitely stay here again.

My eldest daughter, SX, stayed with Anne while she was on a 3-week internship in Canberra. Anne was an amazing host! Anne & Steve picked SX from the bus station when she first arrived. The townhouse is lovely and in a very convenient location. SX's room was cosy & comfortable; she could use the kitchen & laundry; breakfast was sumptuous. Most importantly, SX felt welcomed. Anne even brought SX along for her grocery trip & gave her lots of useful information about Canberra. SX's younger sister, SY (a student at ANU), visited her & was warmly welcomed. Anne even cooked (by the way, she's a great cook!) for the girls on a few evenings! SX had a great time in Canberra staying with Anne! We had a wonderful stay here. The scenery is stunning and house is lovely. It had everything we needed and the hosts were great, providing a cot and high chair for our baby. We loved meeting the farm animals and puppies too.

Really lovely location, and a spotlessly clean, comfortable cottage. Fully equipped kitchen and a really generous breakfast basket provided. We arrived on an extremely hot day and Bel had turned the aircon on for or arrival which was fabulous. So relaxing eating our meals out on the deck watching the cows in the next paddock over the fence. Our toddler loved the cows and we walked over to the farm house in the morning to meet Lachlan & Bel who were very friendly and invited us to wander around their property to pick some figs (delicious!) and see their horses, dogs and puppies. We were even lucky enough to see them feed the kangaroo joey they had rescued. A great stop over on our drive from Melbourne to Callala Beach.

This stay was an absolute pleasure - greeted by the dogs and shown up to the house, Lachie and his family were warm and inviting. The cottage was clean, well equipped, had a substantial floor plan and beautiful view from the back decking to eat on. Our group of friends cooked a lovely meal together, played cards into the night, had a peaceful breakfast on the back decking and met the beautiful labrador puppies. Would highly recommend.

Downstairs from the main house, the flat is self-contained and has its own separate entrance. It has a bedroom, a sunroom/lounge, kitchenette and bathroom. Each room is clean and light. Offstreet parking is right outside . The flat has recently been renovated with a new kitchenette and up to date bathroom, and new floor and window coverings. As well as a bedroom, it has a lounge/sunroom providing space for relaxation. The flat is downstairs from the main house and is fully self-contained. Guests will have their own separate side entrance to the flat through a small courtyard which has a table and chairs for their use. Guests also have their own driveway for vehicle access and offstreet parking. The two of us occupy the main house upstairs and will generally be available to provide help on request. Apart from that, guests will be left to enjoy their privacy. Our suburb is a well established residential area with many trees. It is convenient to the city, main suburban shopping centres, Canberra's two main universities and Calvary Hospital. All of these can be reached within 10-15 minutes drive or a single bus ride. A walk along the nature strip behind our house will take you to expansive nature reserves with kangaroos and excellent views. Access to daily essentials shopping involves a 5 minute drive or a 15-20 minute walk to the nearest shopping centre (Jamison Centre or Belconnen Mall). At Macquarie Shops (3-5 minute walk) there is a large discount pharmacy and a good Vietnamese restaurant (Khin Do) but no grocery store and the cafe provides mediocre coffee (on last taste testing). Buses (no 40/940) to the city and main suburban shopping centres pass by our place and it is only a short 3 minute walk to the bus stop. Car rentals are available from the airport or the city. The flat is next to our undercover garage which we may use briefly to drive out and return, at reasonable hours. The flat is located directly underneath our kitchen and dining area, which means that guests will hear our movements when in these areas. We make a special effort to minimise our noise levels when guests are staying.read more

Helen's place is simply perfect. An ideal, clean and neat little flat with its own entrance and even a little courtyard area and driveway. It felt like a real private retreat, despite being very much connected to the main house. It was easy to find - Helen's instructions are detailed and accurate and she clearly takes great care in providing an Airbnb experience that way exceeds the average. This isn't just someone making money out of a spare room, this is a legitimately ideal rental for business or leisure.

My wife and I stay in Helen's house for 2 weeks, and everything was perfect. Lot of privacy but at the same time Helen and Paul were always there if you need a helping hand. The apartment has everything ready to live very comfortable. You only need your clothes, everything is ready! Helen and Paul are very nice and kind, and they make you feel like in your own home. If I had to stay in Canberra again I would definitely choose their house, it's a perfect choice.

Carolyn is an Angel. She stayed up till 1 am because we were late. Then she made us hot food so that we are not hungry. Changed room last minute so that it is more comfortable. Next morning she woke us up so that we do not miss our appointment. When we were leaving, she even bought some amazing tarts for us so that can have them before we leave! Elizabeth kept in close contact by text message and so our arrival went smoothly. The unit is completely self-contained and so we were able to come and go as we pleased without disturbing anyone. Fantastic arrival with a roaring fire and Catherine was very warm and welcoming as she showed us around and left us to it. The house is very tidy and homely and it was great to spend some time out for a night in front of the fire. The kitchen was very well equipped with breakfast items (alas we didn't have time to partake) and the surrounds were very peaceful. Quite the unexpected find on our slug back from Melbourne. Secluded yet surprisingly close the the Hume (you would never know it), beautiful, cozy, rural, authentic; this cottage has been well loved and cared for and set in the gorgeous countryside. The only reason you should stop at a hotel as an overnight is because this place is booked. Try and arrive before sunset so you can spend some time outside. Super kid friendly. Hike the rocky hill behind you to catch the sunset or sunrise.

The town house was beautiful and indeed spacious. We stayed a long weekend in early winter and while it was cold outside - the ducted heating was VERY good. Beautifully furnished and clean. lots of seating and comfy beds. Its about 15-20minutes by car to the city centre but its easy driving. We would never had stayed in the Gungahlin area was it not for this Airbnb listing. The area is lovely and a dream for kids. There is a big 4.5km walking track which is PERFECT for scooting around the lake and kids playgrounds with a giant flying fox. The hosts respond to messages quickly and very friendly. Would definately recommend. Note: if mobility impaired - this would not be suitable as there is an initial long flight of stairs.

Right form the start Mansoir and Nasrin were brilliant to communicate with. Prompt replies to every questions and great detail. They were more than happy to answer anything and they certainly took the pressure out of booking from interstate, especially when we were feeling the pressure due to late decisions to travel. The property description was accurate and the accommodation was spacious, generous and clean, we immediately felt at home and relaxed. There was ample room to strech out, relax, cook and have a base from which we could enjoy Canberra. The surrounds are very quite and close to shops, with the walk around the local pond/lake just a perfect way to start and finish the day. I would no hesitation is recommending this place as a base for a family with children or for several adults. I genuinely enjoyed my time here. Ps; make sure you take time to eat in the restaurant downstairs, the food was absolutely beautiful.

We loved the whole (URL HIDDEN) authentic country vibe. A rustic little place to rest your feet and spend a night when travelling between Sydney and Melbourne. So remote and quiet. Watching the sunrise from the verandah in the morning and hear nothing but the sound of birds. Kitchen was basic but good enough to prepare a meal. Plenty of firewood to last a cold night. Breakfast provision supplied. Highly recommended.

Jo's hut away from home was just beautiful and is quietly nestled in away in the hills just a short drive from Jugiong. It was exactly as described, and exeeded our expectations. We arrived on a very chilly and rainy afternoon and Jo had the open fireplace set up and ready to go. We brought our own supplies to cook dinner and all the kitchen essentials were provided. Jo had left some muesli, bread and fresh eggs and prosciutto for breakfast in the morning which we enjoyed after a walk along the river that runs just along the front of the hut. The hut away from home was beautifully styled, cosy and perfect for a night away. We visited the longtrack pantry just up the road the next morning for coffee. Could not recommend highly enough, and would certainly consider staying at Jo's place again in the future.

The apartment is centrally located and easy to find. Peter was a pleasure to deal with and met us on arrival and explained the facilities, access and general area. The apartment was clean and well furnished and exactly as depicted in the photos. There were plenty of kitchen implements and the fruit and other goodies were a nice touch. The gym and pool were of a high standard and the complex was quiet (although it was the first week of January and there weren't too many people in Canberra). We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this apartment.

A Great Apartment, Host and Location. The apartment was spotless and better than the photos Thoughtful touches like breakfast provisions, including milk and muesli, were much appreciated. Peter was a kind host, willing to accommodate particular needs if he could - and he did. And the area is pretty much unbeatable, unless you want to be under the shadow of Parliament House. This apartment is in the centre of the real Canberra CBD. Unusually for Canberra, we walked everywhere. We attended concerts, fine dining restaurants, alternative music venues and the ANU, all within easy walk. I doubt you can do better in Canberra than this apartment. Thanks Peter.

I can't hide from the fact that the outside of my building is ugly! But you won't be disappointed once you walk across the front door. Conveniently located and completely renovated. Enjoy our comfortable 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights or 2 months! With comfortable leather lounges, flat screen TV and DVD player and yummy soft throw blanket, you may never leave to explore Canberra. My unit has all the things you need to feel right at home including free WIFI. It offers 2 large bedrooms both with wardrobes for your clothes. The main bedroom has a Oh-so-comfortable queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. If you really need too; another person could sleep on the lounge using the extra blankets provided. My kitchen has all new appliances with stove, oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. A large breakfast bench with cool stools to seat you for casual meals and a compact dining setting for 4. The bathroom has also been given a complete facelift and is clean and I provide a washing machine & clothes dryer, for your use as well. With plenty of storage and an allocated undercover car space for your car (could actually fit 2 cars if squashed in close) I am sure you will love my unit as much as I do. I don't smoke but I don't mind if you do so on the lovely little balcony with it's own little outdoor setting. Please enjoy my home and my town. You can use anything within the unit and the allocated undercover car space for your vehicle. I'm overseas so you'll always will have the whole place to yourselves. Any interaction would be with my mum and dad (who have kindly offered to oversee this for me) . They are very cool and helpful so you can call them if you have any problems or questions. Hawker is a suburb of Belconnen with the local shops are just a very short walk from the apartment. Woolworths, bakeries, butcher, chemist and some good restaurants all at your fingertips. A licenced bowling club and soccer club also within walking distance with great bistros to choose from. It is located just 15 minutes drive to the city centre, all most major tourist attractions in the Capital. I supply all linen and towels you may need during your stay. Please use any of the small things I have left behind and if you finish something just leave a note for my parents so we can refill it.read more

Was a wonderful apartment to stay in. Everything was exactly like the photos. Kim was wonderful, a storm had passed through canberra and parts of the city had a blackout and Kim had called me to advise she was sorting the issue for us. We will definitely be back there again!

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights during July. We loved the place. The place was just as described - inside newly renovated with a very practical and user friendly kitchen (stocked with cereal and spreads etc). We were a bit worried that it would be cold at night but the heaters did a great job. Shops were close by and easy access to Canberra attractions. Loved that the parking space was undercover and you were pretty much walk undercover all the way to the apartment (it rained a bit while we were there). Nothing to fault at all. Definitely recommend it. We would definitely stay here again. Kim was a great host as she was very nice and easy to deal with.

Great flat, well equipped and lovely hosts! Short walk to Hawker shops with lovely coffee and breakfast at Rocksalt. Everywhere in Canberra is a relatively short drive away, so the location was great. We had a lovely time staying and would absolutely do so again. Thank you so much.

With this being my first AirBnB experience, it was extremely enjoyable and easy dealing with Kim. The apartment was very clean and welcoming. The local grocery store, chemist, bakery etc was within walking distance. A full kitchen saved on eating out which suited us well. The apartment is not in the city, but this was very much a non-issue as it's an easy drive if that's where you want to go. Thanks Kim. We will be back! Catherine & Co.

We had a 3 night stay at Laurobel cottage and absolutely loved it. The cottage was really spacious, the beds were super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with provisions; fresh eggs, muffins, bacon, jams, cereals etc. Diane and Dave were really lovely and welcoming. Our kids had such a wonderful time petting and feeding the animals - they didn't want to leave! We also made use of the pool when the weather turned hot. We can't recommend this place enough and look forward to another visit soon!

My family (3 adults and 3 children) stayed with Dave and Diane for 2 nights. And it was the best stay of our entire 2 weeks road trip. PRE-STAY We were traveling with 3 children (6 years old, 4 years old and 1 year old). So the idea of staying on a farm was both exciting but yet also nerve wrecking. We didn't know what to expect. We had a tonne of questions to ask Dave and Diane before the trip and they were very patient to answer every single one of them. Even to the point of acceding to my request to have a picture of the kitchen in the cottage so that I know what to prepare for cooking. STAY Dave greeted us at the gate of the property. Warm and friendly, he showed us the cottage that we were going to stay in and remained very reachable should we have any questions. The cottage is a standalone one and had 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and a toilet. The bedrooms sleep a total of 8 persons. There was a large couch outside and a sofa bed that would probably sleep another 3 to 4 people if you needed it. Dave brought the kids to feed the Alpacas on the property. There are also free-roaming chickens. Dave and Diane also own cows, goats, sheep, 2 dogs, 3 cats and some birds. So the kids were very entertained. When not with the animals, there's a swing and a swimming pool to entertain the kids. The cottage has a nice big digital TV with a DVD player. All in all, we had an amazing time. The kids almost didn't want to leave. The adults were continuously in awe of the green all around us. Surreal. SURPRISE Dave and Diane had a goat give birth to twins a week ago and a coz give birth to a calf a couple of days back. During our stay, another goat and another cow were suppose to give birth at any time. During our walks in the hills, we chanced upon the newest addition to the cow family. The pregnant cow gave birth to the calf and we were the first to lay our eyes on the calf. Dave soon went out to care for it. It was an amazing experience. Thanks Dave and Diane for making our stay most comfortable and memorable.

We enjoyed our time at the Laurobel Cottage very much. The cottage was very clean and modern, the best one we stayed in so far. The hosts were very nice and friendly and provided us with advice on how to make our stay more enjoyable, where to go, what to see and where to go for dinner. We saw all sorts of interesting farm animals as well as wildlife. Highly recommended.

Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. The place was very clean and had everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. We loved the fresh eggs and bread provided by Dave and Diane for breakfast. If you are looking for an escape for the weekend I would highly recommend staying at Dave and Diane's place

We had a great few days at Laurobel Cottage. The cottage itself was very comfortable and spacious, well appointed and good facilities. Being on a working farm was a bonus for us, loved watching the chooks and alpacas. Diane and Dave were hosts, very friendly and welcoming. We will definately stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Laurobel Cottage

We arrived later then expected and Diane was very accommodating and came out to greet us and let us in, which with 3 children in tow we appreciated a lot. The farm is just beautiful we woke up to chooks and baby lambs running past our window. The kids loved it! We also go to pat baby cows and the Larma's came to say hello they were beautiful. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much Dave and Diane x
