We had a wonderful time in Katherine's barn; she was so welcoming and the barn was immaculate and very comfortable. It had all the extras to make for a special stay including a wood burning stove outside to make the most of the beautiful surroundings. It was a perfect escape from city life and I would highly recommend staying there.

Absolutely as advertised and more. Katherine and her husband were awesome hosts who have spent time and effort creating a superb barn/cottage which gives you the perfect woodland getaway experience. On top of that they went out of their way to help us with taxis, food recommendations, directions to beaches and best walking spots. This is a really lovely little house which is quietly nestled amongst trees with a view into a wood and fields. The owners are welcoming and generous, and we had a peaceful and very happy stay here.

This was a beautiful setting, the barnhouse is in lovely countryside and there are lots of walks that start straight from the house. The house is well equipped, very clean and has a great outdoor area. Katherine was very helpful and left us maps, food basics and a list of recommendations. It's really easy to get to from London and we hope to go back at some point. thanks!

Great house in a wonderful place. Katherine and Simon are incredible helpful and caring hosts. From supplying us with basic groceries when we arrived to lending us rain boots, there was absolutely nothing to miss. You can spent your time walking the national park right in front of the cottage. Or visit some of the beautiful sights, not too far away by car or just enjoy relaxing on the property.

A beautiful home in the most beautiful countryside! This is the perfect place to get away from it all. On a quiet country road, it is surrounded by fields and woods (with public footpaths so there is loads to explore). A car would be needed for getting around. The barn had everything you could possibly want, was so clean and everything was really high spec. Lovely pubs in the area for dinner and drinks. Would highly recommend!

What a fantastic little gem, we sadly only stayed for one night but it was perfect. The apartment is very comfortable and a perfect size for 3 adults or a family. Kate the host was so helpful and offered lots of really helpful advice. The breakfast was delicious and the room was stocked with milk, biscuits & water. We had a great stay & would definitely return.

We had a wonderfull stay in the 500-year old house of Kate and her husband. Kate clearly made an effort make the "Old Billard Room" as neat, nice and cosy as possible. Also enjoyed swimming pool (for all you folks from Dubai: not heated). Kate is friendy, funny and very willing to help. Breakfast was very good, and ready to eat in your room. Beds were good. It was a very warm day, so room was a bit hot - windows open and you could hear the road a bit (it was not annoying, so if you don't like that, go somewhere else - however, it will be hard to find the character and overall good atmosphere for this price.

My children and I had a wonderful 5 night stay. The location was perfect for us, the layout of the rooms worked really well and the straight from the oven pan au chocolat's, part of our yummy breakfast try, were, according to my son, the best outside of Paris! We would all highly recommend staying here if you have a car and want to be based in a beautiful location in the Surrey/Sussex area. Kate was a lovely host. Attentive and super helpful. We felt truly at home. Thank you Kate.

Kate's two bedroom Annex is a lovely place and an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is clean and well located to trips almost anywhere on the south coast or in the South Downs . Kate is very friendly and welcoming and has made provision for almost any need during a stay in her annex with an excellent continental breakfast thrown in . Very good value for money and highly recommended .

Wonderful spot in a truly idyllic setting. Comfortable, stylish and clearly a loved home - the perfect combination for our weekend away. We received a warm welcome even though we arrived late then we were left to our own devices. The sunrise through the trees was stunning, worth an early morning!

Louise's place is a gem of peace and quiet. Everything was easy from check-in to check-out as Lousie is very quick to respond to any questions before you arrive, and very welcoming when you do. The place itself is beautifully set in the woodland and as soon as you step in you feel at home. It's cosy but with plenty of space to relax and has all you need - a comfy bed, superb shower and a well equipped kitchen and living room. There's also a great selection of books and photos/artwork to keep you entertained. Very, very highly recommended. We had a wonderful stay at Loxwood. Liz the host was very friendly and accommodating. There are some gorgeous walks around, and a fantastic pub over the road with good food and a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend it as a relaxing place to stay. It is close to Petworth, the Surrey Hills and the South Downs too.

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The standard is exceptionally high and Liz has shown off her talent as an interior designer throughout. We had a fantastic time away from it all, the local pub served fabulous food and were very attentive. Liz was exceptionally helpful and on hand if needed. We stayed in the winter and I'm sure the views are even more stunning over the grounds to the lake in the summer months.

We stayed here as a surprise birthday present for my partner. As soon as we saw the view I knew we had made the right decision. The flat was lovely and clean with everything we would need. Peter was very welcoming and showed us around the flat. We had dinner at The White Hart which I would recommend and only a short drive/slightly brambly walk. When we walked back from the pub we enjoyed a glas or two of wine on the balcony and watched the meteor shower. In the morning we had a very tasty breakfast, ingredients proved by Peter, on the balcony. I would recommend staying here and would stay again. Peter is a great host. Peter is a really great host and provided us with everything and extra for our stay. The view from the balcony was beautiful and the flat is in a good, quiet location within easy driving distance from the Southdowns national park and lovely walks. There is a great pub called The White Hart which is a 5 minute drive away, serves great homemade food. We also loved that Peter provided breakfast for our stay as well, he really went all out to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

We had a great stay at this beautifully decorated and modern penthouse. Peter is a great host and constantly provided great, friendly communication. He went above our expectations as a host and made sure that we felt comfortable and well looked after while staying. He asked us our preferred choice of breakfast and supplied it in our fridge, I had no expectations that breakfast would be provided as well as other food and drink that we might have needed. The penthouse itself is extremely modern and well equipped, I wouldn't want to go into too much detail as I think the gadgets and quirks add to the charm of seeing the place first hand. We were told we could check out whenever we wanted which made us enjoy our morning unlike hotels feeling rushed out, we were just disappointed we couldn't stay longer in all honesty. We had a lovely night away and would love to stay again during the summer when the balcony could be fully appreciated; unlike the snow we had!

Peter's place is absolutely beautiful, the photos don't do the views justice! We had such a lovely time relaxing in the sunshine on the balcony enjoying the incredible countryside. Inside the flat is impeccably clean and has everything you could need. The bed is really big and comfortable with a beautiful view out the window. Would very much recommend and would love to go back one day!

Absolutely loved staying here. We were in the area for a wedding & this was ideal. Kate was really welcoming & hugely helpful. Before we arrived, she had kindly sent over to us some taxi numbers to help. On the arrival day there was no qualms about picking up keys at a time to fit in with out schedule. The bed was AMAZING - such a lovely deep comfortable bed, it was hard to get up in the morning. Very spacious & clean. Tea & coffee making facilities - breakfast was just what we needed before making our way. Everything was so easy & lovely. I would definitely come back & stay here if I was in the area!

Spotless and extremely comfortable private annexe to Kate's family home. We wanted a peaceful hideaway in which to unwind and we got it! Kate's facilities were exactly as described, with plentiful instructions and invitations to ask should we require anything further. We enjoyed the cosiness and seclusion, comfortable bed, nice large TV, neat little kitchenette and shower-room. Would definitely stay again when we're in the area.

Kate was so kind and accommodating with our booking, allowing us to check in early as we were attending a wedding locally. Everything was exactly as described, the apartment is very bright and airy and is a great size for either 2 or 3 people. Kate had even left an iron and ironing board for our last minute requirements, as well as homemade shortbread biscuits to accompany our refreshments. Breakfast was delicious and served at our time of choice - perfect after a night of drinking and dancing. All round a wonderful stay and great value, even on a bank holiday weekend. Thank you Kate!

We had a lovely stay at Kates bnb. Very pleasant and accommodating hosts with plenty of privacy. We stayed for a wedding at rumbolds farm which was a 9 minute drive away. Our host made special arrangements such as providing us with an iron and offering a late checkout which were nice touches to tailor our stay for the wedding. We had a lovely morning swim in the outdoor pool too! Highly recommend for anyone wishing to stay in the area.

We were going to a wedding in nearby Alford Bars and with the only hotels quite a few miles away in Horsham or Billingshurst we looked for a BnB. Kate's place is great, and is a lovely self contained apartment. We had our own entrance & keys so as not to trouble Kate and her family when we stumbled in during the night. The room was very clean and spacious with ensuite, sink, cutlery, microwave, table & chairs. We had a great stay with croissants and pastries in the morning. Thanks for everything Kate!

We spent 2 days here and the accommodation is lovely - just as in the pictures. Sally & Richard were great helping with local information and recommendations for eating out during and before our stay. Sally provided some lovely local produce (eggs and bread etc) when we arrived which we really enjoyed. The location is pretty & peaceful (we saw deer in the field next door) and a couple of miles from Petworth and another local pub so be prepared to walk or drive

I can honestly say Sally and Richard are two of the nicest people that you can ever meet. They made us feel welcome the second we met them. The room has to be one of the nicest I've ever stayed in, and the view was spectacular. Loved every second of our stay here. Would highly recommend.

The time we spent at Sally's place was outstanding. We were very pleased with the arrangements and the hospitality. The location is perfect for a weekend of quiet and peace. Sally was very helpful in directing us to the gems of the nearby town. We would definitely go to Sally's place again.

Wonderful stay. The studio was clean, modern, airy with amazing views over farmland. Lovely little touches like fresh flowers and local breakfast produce were appreciated. Two wonderful nights at Sally's idyllic home in West Sussex. Three hard days of work were made to feel very easy once back in such comfortable surroundings. The home-made jam and views across rolling fields were two particular highlights !

We really enjoyed staying at Sally's studio flat and felt very welcome. The view from the room is stunning and is just like on the pictures. We had a really relaxing time and enjoyed having a long leisurely breakfast thanks to the delicious food provided (bread, jam, eggs, cereal). We are big walkers so we enjoyed being out in the countryside, walking across the fields, to the nearby pub and into Petworth to visit the shops. Sally and Richard were both really welcoming but they also gave us our space. Great hosts. We would stay there again.

A lovely stay at Sally and Richard's. The apartment was beautifully furnished and clean, and the shower was great. We spent a lovely couple of days chilling out, wandering round the garden and interacting with Sally and Richard's adorable pets, one of which particularly won me over (if not cat/ dog lovers, rest assured, the guest room is out of bounds to pets)! Lovely welcome in a peaceful rural retreat made this a wonderful experience. Roger & Anne Marie were delightful and kind hosts who went out of their way for us. The bijou flat was perfect for us, with all mod cons and the double bed plus a single made the place very comfortable. Views from the window were stunning but best of all our host's sheep and chicken made it a very cosy country experience. Organic fresh eggs laid by Anne Marie's hens all priced at a pound for 6, is a bargain. We loved our stay so much we extended it. Perfect for families or as a romantic break. We shall be back.

The room and premises are as beautiful as the pictures! This was truly a magnificent stay in the English country side. Anne-Marie and her husband were very polite and welcoming. They had put some milk and cookies in the fridge, which made us feel very welcome indeed. After a swift explanation of how things worked, Anne-Marie mentioned that they wouldn't intrude, but they were always there to help, and that is exactly how it felt: polite, cordial, privacy, and help when needed. Having your own private entrance and kitchen and bathroom is a big plus. The environment was also very beautiful. We had brought our bikes which is a recommendation if you follow the smaller bridal ways. We biked along rivers and beautiful english country homes aplenty. We will definitely be coming back again! A truly lovely mini-escape. Anne-Marie made me very welcome and the afternoon tea was hugely appreciated. Perfect amenities. Lovely views. Wonderfully cosy. Faultless!

We followed the arrival instructions and knocked on the blue door to be greeted by Anne-Marie and her husband Roger. Shown to the property which is on the first floor as a self contained flat. Beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and has everything you need for a relaxing break. The setting is very rural which makes it exceptionally quiet through the night. All very relaxing and a walk around the garden to visit Anne-Marie's chickens is a must do. As we were visiting relatives nearby, we didn't have much contact with our host and hostess but every need was fulfilled. We would certainly visit again.

We stayed at this place for only one evening .If you want to experience the English countryside then this is the (URL HIDDEN) was peacefull and the bed was large and comfortable.They have a small flock of sheep and some chickens which we were kindly taken to see by Anne Marie.They made us feel very welcome .You have your own kitchen and entrance so you can come and go as you please.We will return if we need a peacefull break.

Lovely quiet clean and great guests

Gorgeous country location nestled in one of my favourite parts of the UK. Anne-Marie and Roger are kind, easy-going and very considerate with their hospitality. The loft itself is very comfortable -- complete with well equipped kitchenette. We loved the farm grounds filled with beautiful gardens, chickens and sheep. And not to forget the delicious duck eggs!

Steve and Mandy met us and were warm, relaxed and friendly. The accomodation exceeded our expectations from the listing, but even though the listing was accurate, you can't really do justice to this magnificent place. The setting, landscaping and facilities are fantastic. The pool set between the two accomodation area, with a massive covered 10 seater table and BBQ area was perfect. The equally massive games/relaxing lounge was superb and well appointed. Exceptionally helpful and friendly hosts. I would not stay anywhere else in Surrey - the location is rural yet accessible, Unbeatable.

What an incredible find! I've been to many Airbnbs in my time, but the level of service Lucy & Richard provided really went above and beyond, it's more luxury hotel than homestay! The flat is even more beautiful than the pictures - a fascinating slice of Petworth history - and the location is very conveniently located off the main square. But what really made our visit something special was the extra touches - the bottle of wine and pint of milk in the fridge on arrival, the luxury dressing gowns in all of the wardrobes, the blissfully comfy beds and power shower, and Lucy's rapid response time to our queries (never more than a couple of minutes, amazing!). We were in Petworth for sad reasons (a family funeral), but having this beautiful flat to stay in was a huge comfort to us and allowed us a haven to relax and luxuriate in during a tough week. Thanks so much for all your efforts Lucy & Richard, we really hope to come back.

I wish I had a penthouse just like this one. Its a hidden gem in the heart of Petworth. There is so much attention to detail and thought put into making this property cosy and functional. Beds are really comfortable and even though it is located in the town centre, the mornings are really quiet. As for Richard and Lucy, they make the perfect host. This penthouse comes highly recommended!!

Finally my faith in Airbnb is restored! An excellent host, great property and location, everything you need for a great stay in and around Petworth. Highly recommended can't wait for our next trip. Lucy really goes above and beyond to help all she can.

We loved our stay at Lucy's beautiful penthouse apartment. The penthouse slept 6 adults comfortably, in clean and high quality rooms and two bathrooms. The living space upstairs was spectacular, great for having meals together and space to relax. We were staying for a wedding and had everything we needed to all get ready the morning of the wedding. The Penthouse is quite the loveliest home, tucked into the heart of beautiful Pentworth. Everything about it has been beautifully thought through, but with a lightness of touch that makes it a comfortable and easy, not an intimidating stylishness. We all loved it, and loved being in the very heart of Petworth. Lucy and Richard were wonderful hosts, everything we might need had been anticipated. We can't recommend the place highly enough

We both had a great time at the stables very peaceful. Our host vicky was very informative when we arrived regarding the accommodation and things to do in the area and the lovely walks. This is a relatively rural area and suited us fine for a quiet break. a lovely old pub the George & Dragon is only a 7min walk and has great food and beer also the countrymen pub about 40min walk car about 10min another great find.This accommodation has all you will need the bed is really comfortable and with great bed linen you won't want to get up! The shower room is great not small and has great water pressure. All in all with the beautiful outside space to sit either outside the stables or in the garden this is a great place to stay there is everything you will need (maybe a footstool would be nice) coupled with a great host thank you Vicky!

What a lovely place! This was my first trip to the area and I could not have found a more welcoming and comfortable place to stay - the peace and charm of the Stable was exactly what I was looking for and I had a wonderful relaxing stay. Nicky met me on arrival, explained everything very clearly and suggested a few places which I might like to visit - a full fact sheet was available in the Stable. She was really helpful and then gave me my own space. I was offered a healthy continental breakfast with an excellent choice of cheeses, cold meats, rolls, local home made jams, yoghurt and fruit. I got exactly what I asked for and it was delicious. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back.

My girlfriend and I visited for a two-night midweek break to the countryside. Nicky was a fantastic host! She met us as soon as we arrived and immediately made us feel at home. After a quick tour of The Stables she said she would let us get on with our break, but would be available should we have any questions or need any help with anything. Nicky was there to see us off when we left, and was keen to hear any feedback. We couldn't have asked for a better host. The Stables was easy to find and very cosy. It comprises a well-sized living room and bedroom, connected by a small kitchen (microwave, hob, and fridge) and a bathroom with one of the best showers I've ever used! Provided was a map with over a dozen places of interest and amenities marked on, a few books about the area, and a guide to some of the features of the property. The underfloor heating, heated bathroom mirror, and Wifi were all excellent. The property was spotless and fresh sheets, towels, and toiletries were also provided. Nicky had thought of everything. There is a small, friendly pub just a few hundred yards around the corner, and of course plenty of beautiful countryside to walk in (our favourite walk was to Jonathan Creek's windmill, just over a mile away). We would absolutely recommend The Stables to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to the countryside.

Such a lovely stay! Nicky gave us perfect directions prior and greeted us on arrival and was very friendly and informative about the property and the area. The property was so pretty, immaculate and well equipped. Nicky gives you privacy to chill out in the stunning garden with lovely rural views. We ventured to the local pub for dinner (2 mins walk) that has a great beer garden and on recommendation we drove down to the coast at Ferring and Worthing (25 mins). It was the perfect countryside retreat and we would recommend to anyone. Nicky also has a gorgeous and super friendly black Labrador who will hang out with you if you fancy (which we loved!) but Nicky does check with you first and will keep her away if it's not what you're after.

Just returned from a lovely stay at The Stables. Nicky met us, was delightful and offered us lots of helpful information about the area as well as explaining everything about the accommodation. As mentioned in previous reviews the bed is really comfortable - even for a 6ft 4in man! The Stables had everything we needed and more. The local walks are easy, accessible and come with stunning countryside. Nicky was an attentive yet discreet host, relaxed and easygoing. It was the perfect weekend for us and we would highly recommend it to others.

Jane is a kind and helpful host. I really enjoyed the comfort of the Barn, it must be even better in the summer with the use of the veranda. Lovely countryside setting, within walking distance from a pub!

This is a wonderful place if you want a quiet and comfortable retreat for one or two people. Pub with restaurant within walking distance, and good food. Jane and Peter are perfect hosts, and welcomed us warmly. Homemade cake, wine and milk on arrival was a lovely touch. If you are lucky to have warm weather, there is a pretty balcony to sit out on. All in all, a perfect stay.

We really loved our stay in the barn. It's really lovely and so are Jane and Philip! They are the perfect hosts - they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Jane very kindly provided clean towels and sheets once a week, delivering them with some slices of homemade cake. There was also milk and a bottle of prosecco waiting for us when we arrived. The barn is very spacious and cosy inside - perfect for two people. The kitchen is really well equipped and there is even a small dishwasher. We also had access to a washing machine downstairs. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside, with numerous public footpaths and bridleways right on the doorstep. It's also within easy driving distance of Brighton and the south coast. We would gladly stay here again in the future.

The surroundigs are beautiful and peaceful for nice walks! The hosts are friendly and helpful.

Lovely cosy apartment in a quiet and rural setting. The Stable apartment is light and airy and has everything you need to enjoy time in the peace and quiet of rural West Sussex. Good guide books and plenty of reading material make up for the rather erratic wifi and mobile phone connections! TV works well, though, and the bed is super comfortable! Well equipped kitchenette and a lovely balcony to enjoy relaxing moments in the sunshine. Be aware that access to the apartment is up an outside wooden stair case which is rather exposed to the elements.

We had a great time at Claire's place. The accommodation is first rate with everything you could need for your stay. The bed is very comfy, with lovely bedding. The kitchenette is not designed for cooking, only having a microwave and a toaster, but I was glad as I didn't come away to cook. I did contemplate m&s food to microwave for our dinner but we chose to walk the mile to the local pub instead. It's a straight walk, a bit dark but we used the torch on our phones and it was fine. The scenery is stunning, Claire and her family are very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay.

We enjoyed a lovely experience over Christmas at the South Downs, we could not have asked for better hosts; Claire and Phil were an absolute treasure. Cottage was very cozy, clean, well equipped and comfortable, it has all you need to spend few days away. On arrival we enjoyed a pleasant surprise of a well stocked fridge, very handy for everyday breakfast, Claire had a nice gesture of leaving a cold prosecco for a toast on Christmas eve. All advise we received was spot on for exploring the areas and towns nearby, as well as the places to eat. Views are stunning specially at sunrise and sunset, and you can't wait to lay on the couch at night and look up through the glass windows to the bright stars. Highly recommend this cottage for a great country get away.

Thank you to Claire and Phil for being wonderful hosts. Very welcoming and thoughtful, leaving us some bits in our fridge I.e bread, milk, eggs, butter, juice which was a very nice touch. The accommodation was really lovely and a lot bigger than it looks, surrounded by beautiful views! We enjoyed the walks and bike rides into the surrounding areas! We will definitely be returning! Sad to leave!

Four of us stayed here for a wedding nearby and were so pleased with the stunning views and the space - beautiful location and property, we all plan to visit again soon!

Beautiful location, lovely well designed space and welcoming hosts in a gorgeous part of the South Downs. No hob but there is a microwave if you want to cook and there are many local pubs also.

We had a lovely stay with Rachel, the house is beautiful and everything was tip top down to a lovely breakfast in the morning. The house was very clean and everything you might need for a perfect stay is there. Location is a perfect for an escape far from the city! Thanks again Rachel

The tractor shed was the perfect respite from busy working weeks in the city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Rachel was incredibly welcoming, leaving us ample breakfast food and giving us advice about the south coast. We followed Rachel's recommendation of Climping beach, which was beautiful. While the stay at Rachel's shed was perfect, we only wish that we could have stayed longer! Thank you Rachel! Rachel was so friendly from the outset and provided everything we asked for, including a delicious cake and scones. The breakfast hamper was excellent and the fridge stocked with everything we needed, including a bottle of wine! We really enjoyed our time there and will be back!

A wonderful, relaxing stay at the Tractor Shed. Rachel is a very attentive and caring host and made sure I had everything I needed. The Shed itself is a stunning renovation, the perfect balance of modern, bright, stylish and homely and impeccably clean. A true countryside oasis, I loved the absence of wifi and patchy phone signal as this meant it was perfect for hiding away and switching off from the world, which is exactly what I needed. The piano is absolutely gorgeous too. Thank you so much for an amazing few days away. I hope to return in the future!

The Tractor Shed was absolutely delightful, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend. Although we didn't meet Rachel, she was very helpful and even provided us with some great homemade food for breakfast which was a lovely touch. The Tractor Shed is a real gem. We loved it and didn't want to leave. It's ideally situated for exploring the beautiful West Sussex countryside and is also a peaceful haven if you just want to relax. The Tractor Shed is great! A recently converted barn nicely hidden around the back of the farm. Rachel is a great host and in the barn there is even a grand piano!
