Greg's place is a unique spacious getaway in a very quiet neighborhood. It is exactly as shown in the photos, and more. The home, built in 1886, is very stately with a large side yard that has fantastic trees that create an atmosphere of beauty and privacy (in the warmer months). Greg is a wonderful guy. He was always there and very responsive – I give him an A++ on communications. The apartment is ideal for a single person or couple. I spent three nights visiting with friends and family and even entertained using the sitting room and deck. There are enough kitchen items to prepare snacks and small meals, but when you’re right next door to Portland – a real “foodie” town with tons of good restaurants, bakeries and cafes per capita – there’s little need to spend time cooking. I highly recommend Greg’s Place and will definitely stay there again.

Greg is a great host and was very accommodating. When we first arrived, he gave us a tour of the space and sent us recommendations for restaurants and local attractions in the downtown Portland area. The general area was rather quiet and peaceful despite some fireworks one night (4th of July weekend). The space has all the necessities that would be necessary for a comfortable stay plus some nice tech upgrades. I would definitely recommend staying here during your travels!

The house, as well as our room (Blue), was great. Axel was a great host and we were happy to spend a little time with him. The neighborhood was a close 10 minutes from Portland in a secluded residential neighborhood. Extras, like sodas in the fridge and brochures from local attractions, were much appreciated. This was our first airbnb experience & hope our visits to other properties in the future will live up to Axel's high standards.

Perfectly described and a beautiful space. 15 minutes from downtown but plenty around you as well. Plenty of space to spread out and feel at home. Absolutely would recommend to anyone.

This place is located in Westbrook, very close to the airport and not too far at all from downtown Portland if you have a car. Axel was super responsive and on the ball about us getting checked in, and was accommodating about a very late check in. The room itself was very spacious and reasonably appointed, and the overall house seemed large and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the cleaning team didn't do a very good job before we arrived and there was dirt on the floor and hairs on the sheets and in the bathroom, plus there were no coffee filters for the coffee maker. We complained in the morning to Axel and he got on it immediately and when we returned later that day the room had had a thorough going over. Other than that this was a good stay and a good value.

Alex's place was perfect. The location was ideal offering a very short walk to downtown Westbrook and an excellent pizza place that Axel recommended. Very easy drive to Portland and all that it offers. Axel recommended taking the ferry to Peaks Island, which we did and it was an excellent way to spend an afternoon. I'd recommend renting a golf cart there and exploring the island. The unit itself was extremely clean and had everything you could possibly need. Really one of the best Airbnb's I've stayed in. Well done Axel, and thank you again!

Axel is a great host and we enjoyed our stay at his place! It was a short drive to Portland. Axel went above and beyond with stocking the fridge with water and providing oatmeal for breakfast. The room has its own entrance and restroom so it felt like a stand-alone apartment even though it is attached to the rest of the house. Thank you, Axel!

Beautiful quiet little house set in a luscious garden on a pretty lake . Quiet and secluded but close to Portland and stores. Hosts are super nice and will make you breakfast as well as letting you use kayak, paddle boat, beach towels and water shoes. The fridge was stocked with milk drinks and snacks ready for us and on the house when we arrived as well as a bottle of wine. Rich and Janet live upstairs and offered us fruit and blueberries they had just picked as well as crêpes the next day. They completely respected our privacy. We kayaked on the lake and they have a fire pit on the little beach if you want to make a fire and do s'mores. Our stay was perfect! Would definitely recommend.

Staying at the Lakeside garden suite truly exceeded our expectations thanks to the wonderful hospitality of Janet and Rich. Not only are the grounds beautifully landscaped, the lakeview was breathtaking! Each day started with a delicious breakfast, either on the deck or by the lake, followed by some kayaking and swimming in the lake. We were even lucky enough to have Rich take us out on his boat for a fast paced raft ride and a cruise around the lake to view all of the remarkable houses. This location was perfect for exploring Portland, Popham Beach, Bath, the Kennebunks and Scarborough. Rich and Janet offered many excellent recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to eat at. There were many thoughtful touches that made our stay the best most relaxing week and one of the best vacations we've ever had.

The hostS were perfect in every way and went above and beyond helping us make our stay special and comfortable and were always ready to help at every question. The gardens and lake access were beautiful. You would never think you were only a few minutes from Portland. The bed was extremely comfortable and the apartment was very clean. Thanks for welcoming us into your home estate. It was truly memorable!

Very nice separate apartment separated from house by a breezeway. The Apartment is quite large with three full rooms including a full kitchen and very nice bathroom. Big operable windows. It was very clean and comfortable. Very quite location located on a small lake. I borrowed on of Sarah's kayaks and had a nice paddle. Lots of shopping and restaurants about 10 minutes away. Highly recommended.

Sarah's place is adorable and well equipped! About 30mins from Portland

My wife and I were traveling to Maine for the first time, and our stay at Sarah's was a great introduction. Communication was easy, the stay was comfortable, and Sarah went out of her way to supply us with some breakfast items that hit the spot after kayaking around the beautiful pond.

Sarah was a great host. Her place is in a quiet area that is close to many great attractions. It is a short drive to Portland, Freeport, and Naples. My wife and I explored the area on our visit after we stayed in OOB for an Ironman. Had a great time. Also, we had no issues with the shower as previous guests had stated.

I could not have had a better experience. Sarah was a wonderful host. She was very warm, welcoming and so hospitable. The house is on a lack and has a stream that runs along the edge of the other side of the yard. It's far enough away from the road so it's quite and feels secluded. It was very peaceful. Sarah keeps the condo immaculate, with amenities everywhere. The kitchen was stocked with basic staples (water, english muffins, tea, coffee and basic spices in case we wanted to cook). There were magazines and pamphlets for local attractions and activities, fresh folded towels and wash cloths, etc. There's soap, shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. She does a great job at making sure you have everything you might need. I cannot recommend this place enough. Sarah is great. I'd definitely go back.

We had a great stay!

Sarah is a fantastic host. She is kind and easy to communicate with. Her condo was perfect for three of us. We had plenty of room in the condo, as well as all of the amenities that we needed. In addition to the indoor space, we really enjoyed the outdoor space that included a sitting area with a view of the pond, fire pit, canoe/kayak to take out on the pond, and a nice walking trail around the pond. I would definitely recommend Sarah's place as a place to stay when visiting in Maine!

John and Julie are wonderful hosts. They waited up for us to arrive the first night and had already bought us some groceries since we wouldn't have any time to stop at the store. They were always around if we needed anything. The location is excellent, too. It's secluded and quiet yet very easy to get into downtown Portland. The place is lovely. I honestly don't think the pictures do it justice. Would definitely recommend this listing to those wanting to visit Portland and get the true "Maine experience."

Awesome stay, clean and hassle free check in

Nice appartment, Tristan is great to work with. As other's have mentioned, it is on a busy intersection, so it can be loud at during the day and in the evening. But if you know that going in, it's a great place to stay!

Tristan's apartment was clean and gave us a good base for our stay in Portland. It had a couple of toys for out daughter and was an easy drive to the city. The only minor complaint is that there was a lot of traffic outside the house, which made it loud while we were sleeping.

This place is good if you simply need a place to sleep in the Portland area. It's on a very noisy intersection - light sleepers beware! However, the space was clean and the bed was comfortable, so it did the job well.

We had a very short visit at Nancy's and wish we could've stayed longer! Her home is gorgeous with the most amazing lake views. The photos don't do it justice. Nancy is a sweetheart. We were very appreciative that she accepted our last-minute request to stay at her home. The communication with her was clear and she got back to me on my messages right away. The room and bathroom was spacious, clean, and decorated in an coastal eccentric style - perfect for its laid-back lake location. Thank you, Nancy, for you hospitality. We hope to come stay again soon!

My daughter and I had a lovely time staying at Nancy's charming home. We were in the area for my daughter to record some music at a nearby studio and the location was perfect. Nancy was a lovely host and very accommodating.

The location is fantastic, lake sebagao is really beautiful and made a great stop over on the way to Arcadia NP from Boston. The west facing balcony also offers a great spot for watching the sunset. Nancy was very welcoming too and made us feel at home including offering some produce from the garden. Access to beaches 100m or so away which were great for swimming. But we were not able to use the pier in the photo. Overall thoroughly recommended

A friend and I went up to Sebago for some fresh air and Nancy was a wonderful host. We were running behind and she was very accommodating to our late arrival and offered to let us stay later the next morning. There was a beach a short stroll from the deck and the water was amazing. The environment was relaxing and refreshing, a great place to unwind!

Elizabeth was very welcoming and helpful about sightseeing in the city. Her home is in a very nice neighbourhood, and quite close to downtown Portland. We stayed in the attic of her old home, with an eclectic collection of books and curios. The listing had been advertised with no air conditioning. But we hadn't foreseen the high temperature in Portland, and so had to cut short our stay by a day. But to Elizabeth's credit, she got the attic fitted with an air conditioner the same day we left.

This was a cozy, comfortable stay for a wonderful weekend in Portland. Elizabeth went out of her way to ensure that we were well-situated and acquainted enough with the neighborhood in order to navigate the city from home to harbor and back. We look forward to our next trip north, and would not hesitate to stay here once again.

Elizabeth was an incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating host. My husband and I were only in town for a few days (for a friend's wedding), but we had a lovely time in Portland. The room is spacious, sunny, and clean. We hope to come visit again some time!

The attic was super private which was perfect. You didn't really hear anything else happening in the house. It was also surprising large, almost a mini suite. You could definitely have more then 2 people staying there, and also feel comfortable spending some downtime reading in the little sitting area. Easy walk from the amtrax train station as well, and breakfast was a bonus.

Elizabeth's home was very close to downtown and was easy to find. The house was beautiful and Elizabeth was very welcoming and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place.

A mixed experience! If the home of Elizabeth was very cordial, the overall impression remains below our vis-à-vis expectations of the asking price. The room is basic, clean although rustic as floored in painted chipboard white for example. The bathroom / toilet room is simple and shared with other tenants. The small lunched frugal. The price seemed high we look our previous experiences airbnb rentals (116 € for two for one night mid-October) and an 8% tax ($ 8) Hand given by hand on arrival. Definitely not our best experience.

Elizabeth was courteous and prompt. The third floor room was bright and clean. The location was very close to the city center.

Elizabeth was very warm and welcoming, and kind enough to give me an early morning ride to the bus station but only after a really amazing breakfast smoothie. And the space was really something special. Very big and comfortable, I could have stayed much longer if I had the time.

Ingrid's apartment is clean and well-appointed. Ingrid had the basics plus several added touches in the kitchen that were much appreciated by me and my children. The apartment is quite spacious and there's a lovely, peaceful backyard. It was an excellent experience for us. I recommend it highly.

Beautiful location... if you have accessibility issues (stairs and uneven approach), it may not meet your needs. One of the two beds is a low futon on wood slat frame with thin mattress... not comfortable, but the other bed is. Ingrid is friendly and helpful!

I needed a place close to St Joseph's College for a weekend to attend my daughter's basketball tournament and this place was perfect! It was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. It's in a very lovely, quiet setting. The washer and dryer came in handy as I washed the team's uniform after a sweaty day of games. Other parents stayed in Portland and by day 3 were very jealous of my short commute. Ingrid provided some staples which came in very handy that first morning. She's a lovely woman and a great host. I would definitely stay again.

An easy drive to everything, and a short walk to free beer! We especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen and the fully stocked pantry...not that you need to cook with so many restaurants to choose from in Portland, but should you choose to whip up breakfast or have an impromptu dinner on the deck, it's nice to find that odd ingredient or condiment you would reach for at home. The house is neat, tasteful, and comfortable-- I could live on the back deck-- and David was a warm and welcoming host.

David's house is the best Portland could offer- everything was clean and convenient. You will feel comfort just like in your own home. David is an amazing host, with upbeat spirit and great sense of humor. I strongly recommend to become his guest. Will be back again!

Wonderful cottage that is right in the middle of everything. Yet secluded on a quite street that would make you think your in the country, We were close to anything you might want to do or see. The house was so cozy!! Plenty of room and tons of amenities to offer. Just like being at home. I would highly recommend this house.

My wife and I loved having coffee out on the deck and relaxing to the max. We took an Uber into downtown Portland one night for dinner and drove in the next day for food. If you are in the Portland area please stay at this little sanctuary by the water. I spent most the afternoon relaxing and reading on the dock on the property. Melanie and Nick were so lovely when I arrived and quickly gave me space to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The space is newly renovated and has everything you need, but my favorite part was the goats! They had 3 little very quite goats next to the house that are really friendly and love a goat scratch. In short this place made me smile.

Melanie was quick to welcome us on a very last minute trip to Maine. She and Nick's spot in Falmouth is an easy drive into Portland or a beautiful place to stay on its own. Comfy pull out couch and pretty yard to relax in. Thank you Melanie and Nick! We loved the goats!

Beautiful location off intercoastal water. Very peaceful setting, but only 5 minute drive to the Old Port or downtown which was extremely convenient. Very clean. Perfect for one or two people.

I would not have stayed here if I knew there was no separation between the bathroom and kitchen. At first we thought it was funny but it negatively affected our stay. I can't prepare food in a bathroom. Once a wall is built, I would recommend the apartment for its location and window seat. Robert was a pleasant host.

Robert's place was perfect for what my girlfriend and I were looking for. We enjoyed Portland and our stay here was part of a great trip.

The space was far more spacious than I thought. It was extremely clean and the details were all very thoughtful. The neighborhood is quiet with local restaurants easily accessible. The drive or Uber to Portland is only 10-12 minutes. Definitely recommend going to the local restaurant The Sinful Kitchen just 5 minutes up the road.

Wonderful suite! Way much larger than I thought! Super clean! Have washing and drying machines! Robert is an easygoing guy and willing to answer any question! Free coffee and orange juice in the refrigerator! Highly recommend!

Awesome place for the price. Nice and clean with all the amenities. There is no stove though for anyone that wants to stay for a longer duration. Located in a residential area so very quiet, and an uber to Portland only costs around $11-14. Self check in and check out made it very simple. Our stay in Maine was short but we would stay here again if we were to come back.

Wonderful excellent clean location, perfect for long stay or temporary. Just FYI if you have issues with stairs that's the only thing that might deter you from this gem of a spot. Other than that it's perfect location. Bob is awesome and so easy to work with and has been a pleasure and always so pleasant and accommodating. I will certainly stay there again. Bed is super comfy! Can't wait to stay again! It's about $10-15 Uber to old port which is perfect.

This is truly a special home! We came to Maine to relax and enjoy some of the local offerings. The listing is 100% accurate. It is a true English Cottage! Waking up to the sounds of the birds and having coffee in the sun filled sun room was beyond perfect! The cottage is immaculate!!!!! I don't think there is even a speck of dust in this home! Joleen has thought of everything and is so generous with her amenities. My only regret is we didn't have more time to enjoy the backyard! We only had three nights and ran out of time. This is one of a million reasons we must return again :-). I cannot recommend Joleen's home more highly! It is truly a warm, welcoming and special place!!!!

We didn't meet Jolene because she was working. Her husband was wonderful and wanted to talk to us more but we were so tired from driving that all we wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. He was very proud of the landscaping that was done. Jolene is a grandmother and there were pictures of the grandchildren everywhere.

Very comfortable, easy-to-navigate home close to Portland. We were just passing through the area for one night on our way to Mount Desert Island, and this was the perfect place to rest and relax before continuing our journey! Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at Joleen's place! The back yard is beautiful, with plenty of places to sit and watch the birds. It also has an outdoor fireplace that would be fun to sit around in the evening. The eat in kitchen is fully equipped. The rest of the house feels airy and comfortable and feels just like a sweet country cottage. Joleen was there to meet us and made sure we felt at home and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. I highly recommend this spot to other families or anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet spot in Maine.

We had a wonderful stay at Larry and Joleen's place! From the moment we reserved the house they instantly began to communicate with us in order to make our stay a memorable experience. They accommodated us according to our schedule and went far beyond in their hospitality. The house very clean and had everything one could need. We travelled with our 3 children and there were plenty of books and toys to keep them happy. We got to chat with both Joleen and Larry and they were incredibly attentive and charming. The house is within 20-30 min of downtown Portland so it's relatively close to the shops and restaurants but also far enough from the city to relax. We would definitely want to stay here again when in Maine.

The guest room was loveley, as was the rest of the house, and even awaited us with fresh flowers from Anika's garden. We would wholeheartedly recommend staying with them when visiting Portland. They were extremely courteous and really did their best to give us privacy. They didn't provide us with keys but they were home throughout our stay so it didn't bother us as much.

Just 20 minutes from Portland, and a few minutes from some local breweries, the house is set back off the street. The home is warm and welcoming. The bedroom is located upstairs with a private bathroom. Anika provided a short house tour upon arrival and welcomed us to relax and enjoy the space. The walking trail behind the home is a must, takes you down to a lovely stream. A positive experience all around.

Anika and Giles place was terrific! We loved the coziness of the room and the cleanliness. We felt like we had a totally private stay due to the layout of the house but enjoyed our short convo with the hosts. It was not too far from downtown Portland and old port so was perfect for our stay.

Though not right in Portland, Anika's place provides a quiet refuge away from the crowds. We had a room and bathroom all to ourselves and woke in the morning to the sound of a Phoebe singing its song in a nearby tree. Giles was a welcoming host and showed us around when we arrived. It was a warmish night so we were provided a fan with a nifty remote control so we didn't have to get out of bed to adjust the settings. There is a nice big closet, so if a person was staying for a few days, they'd have a place to hang clothes. Loved the impressive veg gardens! The flamingoes were a nice touch!

If I could rate Jennifer and Darcy's cabin ten stars I would! The cabin is complete with thoughtful tiny touches like a couple local beers in the fridge and local coffee. You can tell that love was poured into the entire property but the cabin is especially amazing, the furniture inside was handmade by Darcy and everything smells like fresh pine. The interior design is cozy but incredibly clean, the front porch offers two adirondack chairs and a view of their abundant gardens. I can't think of how to describe my night there besides a magical garden-cabin experience. The icing on the "magical garden-cabin experience" cake is how genuinely kind and welcoming Jenn and Darcy are, I had a nice fire with a friend (I asked if it would be okay to have someone over), was welcome to their cherry tomato harvest, and enjoyed getting to know them. All the while, they still provided the privacy that some guests might be seeking. Now, the sprinkles on the "magical garden-cabin experience" cake were their three dogs: Murphy, Charlie, and Winnie. Adorable and brought me lots of smiles. I'm excited to visit again! Can't ya tell?
