Places to stay in Westerlo
Due to pandemic and government business restrictions we are only accepting long term guests. Stunning, hand crafted yurt made on property. This secluded, colorful gem is like no other experience. Be a part of nature with the comforts of a hotel! Tucked away in the foothills of the Catskills, our organic farm has miles of hiking trails and mountain bike paths to explore! We also have many friendly ducks, goats, peacocks, chickens, donkeys, a horse and a cow guests can interact with.
Very remote feel! Hundreds of acres at the end of a dead end road. Located only 15 miles from Albany, city life and great restaurants are only a short drive. The Catskill mountains and Thatcher stare park are also close by.
  • My boyfriend and I loved this place. It was a nice little get away and we were even given firewood to have a campfire outside. Bring everything you think you’ll need, including lights or candles. I did ask what I should bring before made the trip out there but didn’t get a response, unfortunately all the battery operated candles in the yurt were completely dead so we had no light but made the best of it! Place is exactly how it was listed, and we truly had a wonderful time. Good location as well, close to numerous beautiful state parks and hikes. Thanks Jason!

  • Beautiful scenery, perfect place for an escape in nature.

  • Book this place!! Incredibly beautiful and cozy environment. The farm staff was very friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait to come back!

  • Jason’s place was fantastic! It was in a beautiful, perfect location - not too far from the city, but enough to get away and feel secluded and connected to nature. The yurt is very warm with the heater and it didn’t hurt that we went around a mild time. Naturally, there was still a lot of snow and ice on the ground during our visit; my low-horsepower car got stuck, twice (but Jason was very quick to help) - but it didn’t hurt too badly! It is overall a very cute place with cute farm animals just a short walk away from the yurt to boot. My girlfriend and I want to visit again in the summer. We had a lovely experience.

  • We had a lovely stay and a magical experience! The farm is amazing even in the winter. It was cold but the mighty little heater warmed us up right away. We really appreciate all the thoughtfulness in hosting and letting us feed the animals. We’re sure this will be a life long wonderful memory for our daughter and ourselves. We are so happy we found this listing. The yurt was clean upon arrival, bed was incredibly comfortable, Jason was very responsive and was a pleasure to meet. We can’t wait to come back in Spring!

  • Quite a whimsical place. It was great for us to stay the night and spend a night under the stars.

    Niamh2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and comfy! Highly recommend!

    Hayley2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a stellar stay! I loved meeting the cows and Rudy the pig. The yurt was surprisingly warm even on a a 30 degree day. The bed was soft and I had a wonderful nights sleep. The yurt was clean, smelled fresh and the heater was the perfect temperature. The hosts were communicative and we found the place no problem with step by step directions with pictures. I would absolutely love to stay here again!

Great for skiers, hikers, or as a getaway to explore the Helderberg’s farms, country roads, antique fairs, and local produce. 40 mins. from Hudson, 35 mins. from Windham Mountain.
The property is an 1810 former country store and boarding house for the town’s 19th C. felt mills. The rentable portion of the Way Out is the street view apartment on the third floor with a private side entrance through the porch and up a flight of stairs. • This was a stylish place in a very scenic area. Ann was very responsive and the stay was enjoyable.

    Bill2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ann is a lovely host and this apartment has everything you need. My girlfriend and I stayed here while snowboarding at Windham; it was only 30 minutes away and a great price. The town is very small, but really is beautiful and quiet in the winter. The waterfall right across the street was a nice touch! There are a few convenience stores about 15 minutes away, but if you plan to do a big shopping I would stop at Walmart on the way there (about 30 min away). Would definitely stay here again next time we venture to Windham.

    Joe2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is beautiful and located in a lovely scenic area, we really loved our stay.

    Cailene2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's apartment was the perfect escape from NYC, it's clean warm and thoughtfully decorated. I took an awesome hot shower and cooked a yummy dinner in the very cute small kitchen space. Even though we visited in late December, the drive was beautiful and it was really awesome to listen to the waterfall just across the street. We'll be back in the spring and ready to hike in the area :)

    Ashley2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place in the center of town, next to hiking trails and has a great view of the waterfall. Ann is wonderful and very responsive. Looking forward to booking again in the future!

This delightful barn is situated less than 100 ft. from a creek which you will hear all night long. It also comes with access to 100 acres, a large barn with a common area, fields and a swimming hole. It is a glamping barn so it is very rustic as there is a solar shower and an outside privy...much like camping but with a few more comfortable amenities like an air mattress with sheets, a camp cooking stove, dishes, a firepit and wood.
It is unique because it is in an old barn with big beams and some twinkly lights. There are screened windows and blowing screened curtain if you open the big barn door. The creek is beautiful and accessible through a short hiking path.
  • The glamping barn was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Kathryn’s acreage is beautiful and perfectly situated next to a lush forest and swimming hole. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to camp and be close to nature but don’t have access to camping gear or don’t want to haul it around. Kathryn was an amazing host - super thoughtful and communicative. I booked for a last minute weekend trip and had my trip confirmed right away.

  • Beautiful place. Has everything you need for a quiet country getaway. Lush fields, Green Forest, Beautiful Swimming Hole. Kathryn is an excellent host who provides everything you need and a few extras.

  • Quirky charm. Kathryn has thought of pretty much everything for amenities. Interesting property to explore. A unique, fun experience.

    Ted2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful unique space in a lovely area. It’s basic, as the description says, but Kathryn is a lovely warm host and if you are looking for seclusion, nature and don’t mind basic amenities then go for it. The swimming hole and fire pit alone made it a memorable trip. Thank you

Dog Friendly House in the county. Deck opens to fenced in Yard. Easy drive to Catskill or Albany. Private. Nice Deck. Stream in the back. The entire house is for rent. People with dogs love the house. Small stream in the back. You will be out of sight of other houses and back from the quiet country road. The basement is never rented out and the house is very private.
The house has a walk out basement that is not used and is locked. (Guests are free to use it) No part of the house is rented while guest are at the house. The house is pretty isolated . The fenced in yard is loved by dogs.
  • This was the third time we spent a nice holiday in Karen's house, so it feels like going home. We enjoyed our stay. The house is charming. We enjoyed sitting on the cozy couches and watch movies in front of the fireplace. Our dog loved to run around in the fenced backyard. He didn't want to leave. There is everything you need. Clean and cozy little house in a very peaceful environment.

  • we had a great new year's week at Karen's place. as the description says it's great for dogs-- ours is an excellent jumper and there was no chance of him escaping this fence. we spent our nights doing puzzles by the fire and Karen was super attentive when the internet went down because of a storm. the water is sulphurous- which is great for your skin and hair-- and karen provides plenty of bottled water for drinking. thanks again!

    Candace2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. The house had everything you need to cook. The fireplace and big windows are great. My 5 pound dogs loved the fenced in yard, there were no small spaces for them to escape. The creek was lovely. I hope to visit again In the warmer weather.

You will be staying on our working poultry and fiber farm in a cottage sitting in front of a pond. All the animals are free range and friendly. Plenty to photograph, paint or draw or just come to relax and get away. Our price is with sales tax included. We want your stay to be pleasant, please ask if there is anything we can help you with. Due to the location of the cottage and the animals that are free range we only accept adults. Thanks, your hosts, Vicki and Skip Watt
Our cottage is like a tiny house. 256 square feet and the shower is 64 square feet and is on the side of the cottage. The shower is completely private with no access from the inside. The beds are regular twin mattresses. We provide bedding, sheets, blanket, pillows, hand towels, towels for the shower, you have the option to bring your own as well. The toilet is a composting toilet and the sink and shower have hot and cold water. There is a picnic table on the side of the cottage, a charcoal BBQ and a fire pit. We supply the wood and the charcoal as a courtesy. There are 2 chairs and a swing.
The surrounding area is beautiful. Many creeks, ponds and waterfalls and a beautiful park in town with walking trails, a creek and a lake that is dog friendly.
  • Vicki and Skip are amazing. The place is great. We were the last ones of the season and it was cold and rainy. They drove our bags to the room on a ATV, the heater warmed the place up nice. All around great affordable choice. Ow ya, the animals are super fun too!

    Brett2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking to escape the busyness of life and relax for a weekend and Vicki and Skip's little cabin was everything I hoped for! They truly could not have been any nicer! When my plans changed very last minute and unexpectedly she was very accommodating and understanding. Vicki was always very quick to respond and knew the surrounding areas well. She gave me great suggestions when I asked :) She also has the cabin stocked with travel brochures and maps of the areas. The cabin is adorable and so clean! In the mornings I enjoyed having my cup of coffee on the little front porch and listening to the animals in the barn and at night I loved making a fire in the pit and relaxing with the stillness of the pond. The outdoor shower was very cool and felt great. I loved all the animals! Skip was so nice to bring me into their barn and in with the sheep, alpacas, goat and donkeys. I loved how the chickens would just run around on the property! If you are looking to feel secluded but not lost and one with nature but not without basic comforts, this is your place to be! It was such an peaceful weekend and awesome experience that I won't forgot :)

  • Rafael's place was great and so beautiful. The decor was amazing! they have the coolest taste and vintage pieces everywhere. I felt in a movie set of an old victorian home. Rafael was super helpful and when we had a problem he came back to fix it! I would recommend it to anyone :)

    Alejandra2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you're coming to the Irish Catskills, Rafael's lovely Victorian home is a perfect place to stay! The house itself is dripping with charm and shows its age in only the most beautiful way. The house heated way better than I thought it would, the rooms were unique and cozy, and everything was SO CLEAN (no dust or weird, musty smells). The toiletries throughout the house were also a nice touch-- no budget brands here! Rafael is also great at communicating, giving great check-in instructions and local tips. Most of our family was staying nearby and were visibly jealous when they came to scope out the place we were raving about.

    Michelle2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend in the Catskills and the house largely contributed to that. It’s a lovely place, well-appointed and cosy. Everything is as described and very comfy. Communications were excellent and the check in/out went smoothly. Rafael provided lots of local tips and we were not disappointed by any of them. Thanks again!

  • A very relaxing place, i had a great time. This is a very special house.

  • Spent a few days at the Elsbree House with some friends to celebrate my wedding! Everyone was appreciative of the house's character and charm. The owners have done such an amazing job at preserving the history of this house. Rafael was a wonderful virtual host, responding promptly and providing local recommendations! In between all the festivities, we cooked both in the spacious kitchen and on the outdoor charcoal grill, and got a chance to enjoy the surrounding nature (check out Vroman's Nose in Middleburgh, and Rensselaerville Falls/Huyck Preserve) as well as the Livingstonville flea market. Don't miss out on this historic home and all the beauty in and around it! Thanks, Rafael!

  • Rafael's home is amazing! It's a beautifully restored and unique house that's impeccably decorated, spacious and super clean. You can spend hours just exploring the house and looking at the amazing collection of furnishings and ephemera. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful and there is plenty of outdoor property to enjoy. There is also a lovely creek at the end of the back yard. Rafael is a fantastic host who really cares. He replied quickly to every question/message we sent and offered tons of great information about the house as well as things to do and see in the area. We look forward to staying at this house again in the future. Thanks or everything Rafael!!

  • A truly beautiful home that is perfect for a weekend getaway from the city. Modern and classic at the same time, my girlfriend and I had a great time sitting by the creek in the back and relaxing on the beautiful front wrap around porch. Raf, thank you so much for having us. We will be booking again soon.

    Alex2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a house from my childhood. The updates are lovely--bluetooth sound to connect my playlist to, a very comfy sofa, the soft hoot of an owl in the morning, a place to easily access the creek and play with the minnows, the quiet of the country, the lush of the flowers and trees, a restful wrap around porch. My daughter and I laughed many times about the novelty of having two stairways in a house--which do you choose to use? the one closer to your originating point or the one that puts you nearer to your destination? The hosts are a joy to communicate with.

I originally planned to turn 'Big Jenny' into a road trip mobile, but instead have turned this shuttle bus into more of a tiny home! Nestled on part of 18 acres (with trail and creek access), the bus offers a wonderful combination of camping/van life and home living. With a queen sized foam bed and just about 6 feet of headroom, most will find the bus plenty comfortable. The van does have electricity, and a small sink (non-drinkable). There is also a small mini-fridge and stove for you to use!
This is a stay for an adventurous solo traveler or couple. You will have access to the bathroom and kitchen/living room in my house/AirBnB just steps away. You are welcome to use the fire pit, chairs, hammock, front porch, and the entirety of the property! There is no air conditioning in the bus, but you will likely never need it. A small space heater is available on request for chilly mornings.
Medusa is a small hamlet near the Helderberg Mountains and just about 30 minutes from the Catskill Park. While there used to be a bustling little market area, it is just a quiet village along the scenic Ten Mile Creek.
  • Great stay! Brian is really nice and accommodating. Easy trip to the mountains too.

    Jessica2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed in Big Jenny for one night, but we couldn’t have been happier or more comfortable. The space is extremely accommodating and it’s obvious Brian was thorough and thoughtful when he designed it. We were cozy as anything! He and Kody were lovely and it was a pleasure meeting them!

    Caralea2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Big Jenny again! Great hiking not far and a beautiful drive to and from. Brian is a gem as always.

    Bettina2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brian's converted bus was a great place to stay, we had everything we needed and felt very comfortable. Brian is an excellent host and has great local tips, recommend to anyone traveling light.

    Yuriy2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Brian was just an amazing host and this is why AIRBNB works because it is people who make it work. He was super helpful and offered great travel advice me being a solo traveler. Now about the tiny house experience in that van, anyone who wants to experience minimalistic living should definitely try this out. I stayed 3 nights and it was perfect and offered everything I needed. You have a corner for reading and dining, a stove, space heater, cabin space and a super comfortable bed. Everything inside that van had a personal touch. It’s by a creek and you can see it, walk around. I’ll definitely stay again when I need to disconnect. Also definitely take Brian’s guided hike experiences you won’t regret it.

    Samuel2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny is a nice stay. It's like a hotel room on wheels. It's a little difficult to find especially when you don't have signal in the mountains so I would look at the maps ahead of time. Besides that you can't beat the price if you're area.

    Ron2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Brian’s. The bus is super cozy and so clean and well put together. Brian is super helpful with anything you may need. I also went hiking with me and he took me to some amazing waterfalls and took some awesome shots with his drone. 10/10 recommend. Thanks Brian!

    Michaela2019-11-16T00:00:00Z

A mixture of early attic and cool re-purposed treasures, this quiet, quaint Cabin overlooks our 8 acre lake. Skylights & starshine reconnect you to the natural world. Wonderful for relaxation, peaceful exploration, fishing, artist or writers retreat
This cabin has a glassed in porch overlooking the lake, complete with rocking chairs. Loft, open living area and half bath. Bathroom has a composting/camping toilet, full bath is in main building, a short walk from the cabin. Water containers with pumps provide fresh well water in the kitchen and the bathroom for drinking and washing. The cabin is also equipped with a small refrigerator, a toaster oven, electric kettle, a double burner cooktop and French press. This cabin is cute and funky with lots of charm! We are a plant, wildlife, and butterfly sanctuary! We grow a lot of plants to maintain and support a variety species. Our property is not highly manicured - if that won't work for you, then another location may be more appropriate. There is a path around the 8 acre lake, and although we have an abundance of wildflowers, there many areas to swim. We have puzzles, games, cards etc for those that like to play and a large library of books in our main building that you can borrow during your stay. Wi-Fi is also available in the main building, for checking email, getting directions etc. We are constantly upgrading and improving our cabin -- new artwork, bedding, general coziness and fun stuff! Please note, this is a cabin in the woods and there are wild creatures that live here. There is always a chance that one of these small beings can find their way into the cabin, if this is a problem for you please do not book the cabin. We have other listings that may be better suited to your needs. Please contact us about them. We do suggest that you put all food and drink away as leaving these items out can attract creatures to the building. 90 acre Holistic Retreat Center and Organic Farm (Garden of One). Full bath and other amenities in main building, a short walk from the cabin. The cabin is available year round, it has a rocket stove mass heater. Please note: We provide wood for heating the cabin, but it must be chopped down to kindling size for use in the rocket stove. We have a special tool for this that we leave for our guests. Be sure to bring whatever gear you need to be comfortable outside while using it. Cabin can accommodate up to 5 people, there’s a queen bed, beanbag bed in the loft and a single futon bed. A cot can be set up in the living room area ($20 additional per nite/per extra person over 2) Also, please consider your pet as another person and add $20 per nite for your fur baby! We are working farm, and sometimes have animals that need short term special care. So you may find a baby chicken, turkey, duck, pig or rabbit nestled in a box or tub inside the main building. Most often you will be able to interact with them but please ask first! We use all organic and natural cleaning products and methods in all of our rentals, private and public space. Lovely swim-able private lake, forest & gardens. Canoeing, fishing (catch and release), and hiking available on our property. Also nearby (2 miles up the road) is a 2500 acre hiking/nature preserve. Full organic meal plans offered separately (and we are happy to pack a lunch for you if you're going to be out and about) -- can accommodate gluten & dairy free and most specialized diets. Please make arrangements ahead of your stay for any meals you would like us to provide. We also offer picnics (with a real basket and everything!) that you can have on site or take on your travels (again, by prior arrangement). Sauna, Ionizing Foot Bath and private sessions (massage, reiki, ear coning, health consults and more) also usually available, please ask for our fee schedule and plan ahead.
Very rural, even though we are only 25 miles from Albany, NY the capital of NYS. Quiet and peaceful, in fact you will probably not see any neighbors at all. Near Albany, Berne, Cobleskill, Greenville, Oak Hill, Middleburgh, Schoharie, Westerlo, Windham
  • This was my second trip to the cabin, about 3 years after my first. It was even cuter than I remembered, and Rachel and Brian added some more touches and features. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful weekend away from city life. Make sure to go out at night and just look up at the stars! We were looking forward to the lack of cell reception and loved how quiet it was here. We also loved the game cabinet. The cabin was very cozy and we were able to keep it warm in February by using the fireplace as directed. Thanks for a great trip and we hope to be back someday!

    Ramya2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We spent the weekend in this snowy cabin and we had the most memorable time. Bryan was so helpful anytime we needed him and the location is so beautiful. We hope to come back!

    Nicole2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, very clean.

    Alana2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great little getaway! The area’s quite rural, as you’d hope (bring groceries) and the property is lovely, with a large preserve a few minutes down the road for woods walks. Rachel was out of town during our two-night stay, but Brian was very friendly and accommodating, and readily available in case anything came up. Our winter stay was just what we’d hoped for — we’d been planning on enjoying a quiet few days feeding the fire and relaxing without WiFi or cell service, and this did the trick. Cozy, appealing space for those who are looking to (lightly) rough it for a spell. Thanks Rachel and Brian — we’ll be back!

    Hunter2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely perfect for travelers looking for a getaway out in nature! Photos and description are all accurate. It was so much fun to chop your own wood to keep the cabin warm, drink tea overlooking the lake, cook meals, play board games and hike around! This was exactly the kind of trip we wanted. Cozy, fun and relaxing!

    Alyssa2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time getting off the grid for a few days! The space was perfect, clean, and lots of special touches. We look forward to visiting again!

    Rachel2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem, a wonderful place that becomes rarer and rarer in our populated space. Back to nature state would be a good definition to a weekend in this cabin. The rocker stove works great even if it did struggle this weekend when it was 4 degrees F outside. Rachel and Brian are wonderful hosts, highly recommend their place and hospitality.

A lovely private room with a double bed and an attached bathroom with shower. Quiet country setting amid farms and woodland. Deck overlooks pond and wetland, great for birdwatching. You are welcome in the sitting room with fireplace and beautiful view over the pond.
Private room with double bed and attached bathroom in country home. Breakfast items available: cereal, toast, coffee, tea, orange juice, plain yogurt, skim milk.
We are just a mile away from John Boyd Thacher State Park, with its many hiking trails and spectacular views of the Helderberg Escarpment. Around us are farms and a wetland; the birding is great. We are only about 30 to 45 minutes from the many cultural attractions of Albany, Schenectady, and Troy.
  • This pond house was in a perfect location for any trip to Thacher Park. Melanie and Paul were both so thoughtful and courtious, and their home was very clean and organized.

  • This is a lovely home and generously shared by our hosts. It is just outside a state park so is quiet. The bedroom and private bath are clean and comfortable. The great room faces the deck overlooking the pond and is a lovely place to relax. The kitchen was at our disposal for breakfast. Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed and offered just the right amount of attention.

  • A peaceful little retreat with a clean, cozy room. I enjoyed the wraparound deck with a beautiful view of the pond and marsh. A perfect stop just a step away from the beautiful State park and lake!

    Bria2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this beautiful home and took advantage of the close proximity to both Albany and the local state park! Melanie and Paul’s thoughtful touches made our stay fantastic. Perfect for a quiet getaway on the way north to the Adirondacks.

    Laura2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie and Paul were incredibly accommodating and flexible. The guest room is very neat and homey, with its own dedicated full bathroom - I felt very comfortable and that my privacy was respected. They provided me with the autonomy I needed for the day (I had to come-and-go, as I was attending a wedding). The basket of toiletries on the bureau is a fabulous touch. Thanks so much, Melanie and Paul!

Tiny glamping cabin located in the middle of 100 acres with fields, woods and a creek. Historic post and beam structure nestled near the edge of a forest that is three fields from a road. No electricity or cell coverage to give you a remote and rustic feel yet includes a solar shower, privy, campfire, dishes, camping stove, and everything else you need to “camp” without having to bring it with you. The cabin is great for couples or solo travelers who have a quiet footprint on the environment.
For some weekends, Sunday night is free if you book Friday and Sat. night so inquire about availability if you are interested. It is helpful for glampers who don't want to hit traffic on Sunday night returning to nyc or other cities and wish to leave early Monday am.
Near Oak Hill village, an antique store, Grey Fox Music Festival, Huyck Preserve, Rensselaerville and half hour to Hudson and Windham Mt.
  • The 'Glamping Cabin' was an excellent rustic adventure! The land and site are beautiful, the cabin is wonderful, and thoughtful touches are all around. I think I can safely say that most people who would like the camping experience with a bit more comfort can come to the cabin with some clothes and food and spare themselves the expense of camping gear. The kitchen tent had everything we needed, the firepit was wonderful, and there's plenty of room to roam around and see the excellent creek on the property. Kathryn is an excellent host and provides plenty of information about the amenities. We hope to make it back!

    Matt2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing weekend getaway. Camping without the hassle of bringing everything. Kathryn supplies you with everything you need to enjoy your stay and relax. The views from the cabin and swimming hole make us want to visit again!

  • Kathryn was a great host! Will definitely come back soon! Highly recommend! We fell in love with the beauty of the place and Kathryn walked us around the land and offered us great options.

    Kareem2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kathryn's cabin was a fantastic experience! We loved the location, which was only 30 miles from our home, allowing us less travel time yet a feeling of complete escape from it all ! The cabin and surrounding area is very private and just as it is pictured. While the cabin maintains a rustic, primitive quality, it is very clean, warm and welcoming, offering all the basics needed for comfort. There are also beautiful, yet subtle extra touches all around. Kathryn has a covered kitchen area set up near the cabin, which provides all the basics needed for cooking including a picnic table to sit for meals. There is also a fire pit and plenty of fire wood available. We loved exploring the creek nearby, which is a perfect place to sit, relax and read. I'm thrilled that we found Kathryn's cabin and we can't wait to go back again!

    Melissa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you love nature and want a peaceful place to immerse yourself while also feeling taken care of, stay here! The cabin is small but feels so homey and welcoming. The swimming hole is magical. The privy is adorable. The kitchen is efficient and we did lots of cooking there. And Kathryn’s vision for her property and her community is inspiring. This place is so welcoming and so is Kathryn; she was away when we arrived but invited us to get anything we needed from her house. Definitely a very special place!

    Kira2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful location and premise with a gracious and kind host.

  • Hickory Hill Farm is like a little corner of heaven in this part of New York State. Dardis and Simon were welcoming and accommodating hosts, offering us their kitchen to cook in and a choice of places to eat al fresco on the beautiful grounds. I hadn't realized just how special Hickory Hill Farm would be--with a hammock, a gazebo, horses grazing in a paddock, a small table and lounge chair just outside our guest quarters. It was hard to leave the property; I would like to come back just to lounge there and write! Nearby is the Huyck Preserve, and we were able to hike there and swim in Lake Myosotis. Simon and Dardis also offered excellent suggestions for where to go and how best to enjoy the surrounding area. We hope to return.

The house is located in the Catskills, Greenville, NY, (Green County). Owning my own construction company, I personally built the home in 2013 at the end of a private road surrounded by 11 acres. The house is fully furnished with all the amenities. It has a beautiful view of the Catskill mountains from a huge front deck where you can sit and relax, unwind and/or have an outdoor cookout. It is complete with a covered outdoor picnic table and lawn chairs for sunbathing or just simply relaxing.
The house was built in 2013 on 11 acres. It's very private and secluded at the end of a private road. The house is fully furnished with all amenities. There is also an outdoor shower and a large sun deck complete with patio furniture and lounge chairs. It has a complete view of the beautiful Catskill Mountains. It is very quiet and serene. You will hear only the sounds of chirping birds and the wind blowing the leaves of the surrounding trees, the rain and whatever other noises you may decide to make. The house space is 720 square feet with full spacious living room, full kitchen with all kitchen appliances, dining area with 4 chairs, a bedroom with 1 queen size bed. There is a sofa in the Living room that opens and can sleep one more person. There is a very large outdoor deck for outdoor dining complete with 6 chairs and umbrella. Plus 2 lounge chairs for relaxing or sunbathing. There is a golf course within walking distance to the "Sunny Hill Resort & Golf Course". Golfing is open to the public. All other amenities of the resort are for members only. Freehold and Greenville are 5-10 min car drive. In Freehold there is a great bar where you can eat and have some drinks and mingle with the locals. Greenville has a big supermarket "Tops" open 24/7. You will need a car to get to the house and grocery store/restaurants. There is no public transportation. If you have any questions you can contact me at any time. I love my house upstate NY and I hope you enjoy my piece of peace and tranquility in Greenville NY.
Two great restaurants nearby if looking to go out for great food - "The Mountainview Brasserie" and "The Hollowbrook Inn & Restaurant" - both in Greenville, NY, a 5 min drive. There is a golf course walking distance. Freehold and Greenville Townships are 5-10 min by car. Also, there is a very nice bar/restaurant in Freehold (5 min drive), love their burgers. In Greenville there is Tops Supermarket, Subway sandwiches, liquor store, Dunkin Donuts, as well as Rite Aid and Dollar General. Also almost right across "Dunkin Donuts there is a smallplace called "Lane's Cafe" with great breakfast food. You can drive to several hiking trails and beautiful creeks/streams. Greens Lake and a pool are within a short drive to Athens. You can also order in advance some meat and eggs on here with me. I have a picture of the list of items you can order and it will be delivered the day of or a the day before you arrive at the house. It is fresh from a local farm. Enjoy!
  • Loved this place so much! It’s so roomy yet cozy and the fireplace was the perfect touch since it was so cold outside. I would suggest bringing drinking water as the tap water has a sulfur smell, but other than that everything you need is already provided! Cannot wait to stay again!

The wood burning stove was amazing in winter and kept us warm and toasty! The kitchen it beautiful and perfect if you are looking forward to doing any cooking or baking! I would absolutely recommend this place for a quiet getaway from the city. Cute towns and historic sights are also a close drive away.

Due to bad weather, my girlfriend and I were forced to stay in on our trip but the house was very homey and comfortable. Highly recommend for those looking for a weekend getaway from the city.

A quaint country village house in the upstate NY with access to 100 acres and a swimming hole within walking distance from the porch. Recently painted and refreshed interiors for the summer. Nice large back and side yards that are perfect for croquet, campfire chats and relaxing in an Adirondack chair. Neighboring a historic church, the local volunteer fire department, playground and creek.
There are three bedrooms (1 double and 2 single), window air conditioners, fully equipped with linens, towels and everything you need to relax and enjoy the amenities. The water is country water so bring bottle water if you prefer it.
This country home is located on main street of Medusa, a small hamlet located in the Upper Hudson Valley. A short walk down the road bridges you over the 10 mile creek to my 100 acre property of hay fields and tranquil "glamping" barns. Follow the trails through the woods and fields, or head down to the private swimming hole. Attractions just a short drive away include the Yellow Deli, Oak Hill, Windham/Hunter Ski Mountains, Kaaterskill Falls, historic Rensselaerville and the Huyck Preserve.

  • Kathryn's cottage is a Great place to stay if you're visiting Albany County. Excellent Hospitality, very comfortable, clean and best location to visit Hudson. We enjoyed our stay here and Kathryn is a Super Host!

  • Wonderful stay at Kathryn's Medusa village cottage. Feels like you are stepping back in time. Thoughtful touches and easy communication throughout the stay. The house has an instantly cozy, welcoming vibe and is surprisingly spacious for an old farm house. The church next door only adds to the ambience. Note that as of now there is no real WiFi/internet and cell service is very spotty but this was not an issue for us. Kathryn is doing a great job of preserving the heritage of this part of the Catskills.

  • Beautiful location, great host, rustic but very clean farmhouse. Best sleep I’ve had in a while.

  • Dardis and Simon are wonderful hosts. From the time we booked our visit, to the day we departed from their lovely home, Dardis and Simon, were thoughtful, informative and welcoming. Their location is very close to the 'Carey Institute for Good', which was especially helpful, as we were in Rensselaerville for a family wedding. Thank you, Dardis! Thank you, Simon!

  • Simon and Dardis have an incredible home. It provided exactly what we needed for the wedding weekend. A cozy place to stay and warmth from our hosts. We stayed two nights and Simon stayed up to let us in when we arrived later than expected the first night. The grounds were incredible with a tennis court and horses all as an added feature to our lovely weekend. Thank you both again, Joy

Charming beautiful timber frame farmhouse. Private and quiet winter home retreat. Ideal for families, artists, and remote workers. Close by we have hiking, skiing, yoga, Ayurvedic health classes, shooting sports (hunting, trap, target, and safety courses), snow shoeing, and camping, just to name a few. We also have waterfalls around the corner, The Egg Performance center in Albany, a waterpark called Zoom Flume only 20 minutes away, and that's just a partial list!
Rustic 1830s farmhouse with original tin ceilings, wood floors, and hardware. AC units and space heaters available. Wood for the exterior fire-pit. Beautiful garden (assuming the season). Apple trees, black raspberry bushes, fresh air and the sound of the running stream in the yard. Roses, lilac, and apple blossoms scent the air when blooming. Wonderful, delicious well water.
The house is flanked by forest with an ephemeral stream and has 2 apple trees, a pear tree, a wild blackberry bush, a vegetable garden and patio with fire pit, BBQ, table chairs, a bench, and a swing + slide playset. There is a park with a large field, tennis court, and kid's playground just down the road (2 minute walk).
  • What a welcoming home. My family only stayed for one night, but this was such a comfortable place. It's also quite spacious for anyone who might have a larger group. The bedrooms hiding up in the attic are fantastic. We brought our two dogs with us and this was a great place from to run around as well--both in the yard and at the Hyuck preserve that's a 10 minute walk away. I hope we can come back in warmer weather to get to enjoy the area even more.

  • JR is an excellent host. His communication is very prompt. We had a brief problem with the heating system and it was resolved seamlessly and quickly. The house is very charming--it is an early 19th c home, and while it is not renovated, it has been kept up and is very spacious. The hosts provide many more necessities than are customary, including a well-stocked kitchen and toiletries. The linens are lovely. Our stay was cozy and welcoming. Thank you, JR.

Mid-Century motif blends with incredible views, country quiet and relaxed luxury. Breathtaking fall colors arriving in just a couple of months!
I was told that this place has the most amazing view in the Capitol Region with gigantic deck, pool (in season), two person jacuzzi tub. Minutes from Albany. Pool season depends on the weather but is at least Memorial Day through Labor Day. THE POOL IS CURRENT CLOSED UNTIL MAY 15, 2020 (Planned) Coronavirus Notice: It is the responsibility of guests to take reasonable precautions to prevent contracting or spreading the coronavirus.
Quiet, exclusive seclusion. Guests are expected to keep it that way. My neighbors have asked that impacts be as limited as possible. They didn't move to the country to have a hotel set up shop across the street.
  • Aaron has a beautiful and unique place and was a great host and really flexible and accommodating when we had to make some last minute changes. He also got us breakfast, which was a really thoughtful touch. And he has the cutest little dogs. We had a nice and relaxing long weekend.

  • Looking for a peaceful, incredibly scenic, luxurious getaway...look no further! Aaron's property is an unusual tri-circular structure, nestled between beautiful greenery, water and mountains! The pool is well-maintained, the spacious, artsy and clean inside includes all the amenities one could wish for...and then some! The views from all around - including the bedroom - are truly spectacular and the property is less than a half an hour's drive of many scenic trails and also the attractions of Albany. After many years of vacationing, this is honestly the first time we'd consider a repeat!

  • Aaron has a beautiful place. The view from the outdoor patio and the pool is to die for. The pool and jacuzzi inside were my highlights of this trip. I was there with 4 of my friends and we had a super fun time. Aaron was an amazing host with the quick replies and gave us complete privacy. His dogs are adorable. He also got us breakfast the first day which was extremely sweet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you’re looking for a countryside getaway. Very peaceful.

Bluff House is a midcentury modern with a fieldstone fireplace, exposed beams and a wall of windows in the living room. A private drive leads to a secluded 35 acres on Catskill Creek. The house has two bedrooms and a loft with a day bed up a ladder.
Two bedrooms accommodate up to four guests (one queen, one twin bed) and a sleeping loft has a day bed that turns into two twin mattresses. Kitchen, dining room, living room, and deck with barbecue complete the house, which is situated back from the road on 35 acres ideal for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. For downhill skiers, Windham is a 25 minute drive, and Hunter Mountain is a 35 minute drive. You’re 2 hours from the George Washington Bridge. For those who want to stay close to home, winter affords gorgeous views of Catskill Forest Preserve from the dining room, kitchen, and South Bedroom, and all along the bluff. Catskill Creek is a scramble down the bluff and runs through the property. Our woods are filled with mushrooms, berries, diverse trees and plant life, and a matching community of birds and animals. You are less than 15 minutes to shopping in Cairo and close to delicious dinners at Ruby’s Hotel in Freehold, and in Greenville at the Mountain View Brasserie and the Hollowbrook Inn. Built in 1969, Bluff House was conceived with mid-century flair by the local art teacher who lived in it and lovingly maintained it for 50 years. In taking over the house, my partner, Mical, and I are doing our best to keep the integrity of his vision. This is the opposite of a complete renovation. Almost everything in the house is original, and the furnishings we've brought to it are either from the period or in its spirit (I am a furniture maker and a number of the house's pieces are my own). There is WiFi but no TV. Out of respect for the environmental, we emphasize recycling and use low-impact products (ideally scent-free). We are LGBTQ friendly and dog positive (dogs must be respectful of the local wildlife). Most of the house is on one floor (only the loft is up a ladder) and there is ramp access. The front door and bathroom may require limited mobility. If you use a wheelchair, please call us for details so that we can give you a better sense of whether the house would suit you. We have not child-proofed and recommend you only bring children older than 6.
  • Tim’s place is fantastic if you are skiing at hunter mountain with friends and want to spend the night nearby. Very warm and spacious

    Fangyi2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Tim’s Bluff House and only wish that it could have been longer. My friend and I loved experiencing the mid-century style of Bluff House. Comfy couches, great gas fire place, well equipped kitchen and terrific and plentiful reading material- not to mention the sunsets! We wish the days were longer and that we had brought more friends to share the space with! This would be a great place for a group dinner. We’re already thinking about our next trip to Bluff House...

    Kate2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! Very stylish and cool. One of my favorites Airbnb’s so far. Great tips for local restaurants, designed beautiful, very cozy and a gorgeous view.

    Laura2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Bluff House was awesome. It was clean, had everything we needed and more. Loved having coffee on the deck with a view of the creek and wine and cards by the fireplace at night. Our puppy was so happy with lots of grass to run on. We’ll rent again when we’re back in the area.

    Meredith2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Like straight out of a 70s movie set! Tim’s home was stunning with vintage furnishings and decor that made the place feel so cozy and comfortable but was plenty stylish! The fireplace was lovely for the cool evenings. I can’t begin to say how wonderful it was to feel completely secluded with the hidden meadow beside the house and the picture perfect view of the mountains from the back porch! There were board games, card decks, Bose speaker, and loads of shelves of books for entertainment. Loads of small things you’d often forget on a weekend away were there for our use from shampoo and body wash, sunscreen, bug spray, tooth paste, kitchen supplies like honey and salt and pepper. Everything was so thoughtfully laid out with little messages left full of tips for the area and about the items in the house. It was perfect getaway from the city for the 5 of us in our 30s, and I would 10/10 recommend The Bluff! The only con I could possibly say would be the comfort of the beds. All we’re old spring mattress that we found too firm for our liking and a bit uncomfortable. But everything else about the house more than made up for it, and we had an wonderful time! Would definitely love to stay here again.

    Sarah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place on a cool property. Would highly recommend.

    Bunny2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • My parents and I had a fantastic time at Bluff House. The house and setting are both beautiful and very private. The view of the mountains from the back deck is stunning. The furniture - beds and sofas- are super comfy and the place was spotless. There were also so many thoughtful touches - including for our pup- and a fantastic book of local tips. Check out Ruby’s restaurant in Freehold and Heather Ridge Farm! We hope to be back again!

    Jennifer2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, lovely setting. We actually enjoyed not having a tv & played lots of the board games. A dishwasher would have been nice....but I’m sure that’s just me being lazy!

Stay in a furnished tipi, just steps away from our expansive vegetable garden. With a stone floor and fire pit you are sure to keep the chill off on cool summer nights. Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and developing Eco village devoted to the principles of organic farming and self reliance. We grow much of our own food and forge many types of wild mushrooms.
Very secluded corner of our property with miles of hiking/ biking trails to enjoy. We host volunteers from all over the world, with many interesting stories to tell! We have friendly goats, peacocks, chickens, ducks, cows horses and koi guests can interact with.
  • Great location with a great view! We went during the month of November but still some bugs in tents so not for people who can’t do bugs. Having fire pit both inside and outside of tents was great, we had a good time overall.

    Mai2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming place. I loved the animals, the tipi was cozy and unique. Enjoyed having my own space. The outhouse was conveniently located near the tipi. Who knew this piece of paradise was located only 20 minutes from Albany. There are different types of accommodations on the property if staying in a tipi isn't your thing. But its truly a one of a kind experience. I can't wait to come back.

    Cherisse2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stop at the tipi on Magic Forest Farm was awesome. The stone floor and built in fire pit made it feel very glamorous for such a rustic spot. Definitely a great choice if you’re in the greater Albany area!

    Alex2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a spot! It made an excellent getaway from NYC. We took trains up here via a brief stop in Beacon to go to Storm King, and then we got off at the Albany/Ren station. From there we snagged a taxi at midnight, and that cost us $56 to get a pool ride that took an hour and a half to get to Jason's. I recommend going earlier and catching an uber for $30ish. That's what we got on the way back to the station anyhow. We walked to the tipi in the dark from the larger buildings, torch in hand and met a friendly cow along the way. The tip of the tipi was sealed over when we got there due to forecast rain, so we slept under a few layers of blankets and were very cosy. We woke up to heavy rain, and spent the day meeting animals, relaxing in the tipi, and getting soaked outside. I was lent a poncho and an old umbrella by one of the resident woofers which was nice. We met other guests and everyone was very friendly. We also didn't bring a lot of food which was stupid. Luckily we found a Chinese place on Seamless which delivered. The rain died down that night, so we managed to get a fire lit. The matches in the tipi were a bit damp from drips in the day, so I asked for a lighter and that worked a treat. It was smokey at first, but we soon got the hang of it, and put it out/closed the tipi tip before dozing off. The next morning was beautiful, and we saw and interacted with lots of critters which I won't spoil in this review. All in all it was a fantastic experience. I recommend getting there earlier in the day, bringing more food, checking the weather forecast, and packing accordingly. We didn't want to leave, and I would love to stay again!

Near Albany, Berne, Catskill, Cairo, Cobleskill, East Durham, Greenville, Hunter, Knox, Medusa, Oak Hill, Middleburgh, Schoharie, Westerlo, Windham.
  • Rachel was so informative and helpful. She provided directions and lists of things to do in the area, as well as quick replies to my inquiries. Brian is a gem of a human who showed us around the gorgeous property and made us feel very welcome. We got to spend time with the goats, which we loved, we canoed out on the private pond, walked the labyrinth, toured the fairie gardens. Roosters in the morning, owls at night. The complete darkness is such a welcome sight ;) coming from a heavy light polluted area. We were given tons of extra blankets which kept us snug and warm all night. The property itself, as well as the surrounding area, is so beautiful I imagine we will be making this a regular trip.

  • If you are looking to completely unplug from the stress and anxiety of the city, this is the place for you. This electricity-free and service-free yurt will help you quiet your mind and give you a chance to reflect with nature. Rachel and Bryan are lovely hosts, who are very kind and will give you space if you need it or genuine conversations about life, nature, and well-being. Don't be afraid of their dogs -- they are big, but they are gentle giants and just want to cuddle and play all the time. The property is beautiful and definitely reminds you of the simpler things in life!

  • My granddaughters and I loved the YURT at GARDEN OF ONE! The girls thought the beanbag beds were awesome, and Brian accommodated me with a nicely padded floormat for my own sleeping bag. Excellent outdoor kitchen for breakfasts after a great home-cooked breakfast at Rachel and Brian's the first morning: fresh eggs and savory chickpea cakes. ----The girls loved the Pond while I read and relaxed on the hammock, plus fun tours of the Faerie Garden, the Meditation Labyrinth, and treks on the pond path. Rachel was very busy which took her away during our stay, but husband Brian was absolutely super with my g'kids: they thoroughly enjoyed the farm, all the animals -- especially treating the ponies to carrots and brushing Houston while Brian explained hoof care to my girls as he trimmed them. They even named a baby goat! Great location for exploring the area, including one of the only drive-in movie theatres left in America, and Howe Caverns. ----Please don't stay in the yurt unless you are open to being in the midst of nature!! There are no amenities other than your own sense of peace, contemplation, writing, reading… It was exactly what we wanted, away from electronics, listening to the bullfrogs at night -- roosters, goats, chickens by day… Other than the camping kitchen, the only amenity was the outdoor compostable “toilet” with wood shavings. You are truly in nature! ----And please recognize this is a working farm and their home!! There are no spotless grounds neatly manicured for guests like a hotel – There’s no housekeeping staff: there are exuberant dogs, noisy farm critters, plants and plantings, manure, mud, dust, clutter, repair work, tools, rough roads, the works! A really nice couple making their farm life a reality. There’s no real community space either, other than at a pre-arranged time, Brian and Rachel make their house available: They have a dining nook available when you pre-order meals (with a great Roman-style heating bench system we learned about from Brian) and have a spotless bathroom with shower for guests to use at an agreeable time. -- I was also happy to purchase some of their lovely products: Brian suggested their magnesium-boron Mineral Liniment for my achy joints, which I tried and liked and bought and USE! As well as an insect repellent/after-bite that they make and market under their Garden of One label, smells heavenly and the girls loved it for the inevitable mosquito bites. Available online. -- Next time, the girls want to try the cabin… So we will be sure to book again next year! A really terrific experience, one that this grandmother and her two granddaughters will treasure forever.

  • This is an ideal spot to unplug, unhook, and reconnect with the serenity of the woods. The accouterments are rustic but your needs will be met: a sturdy yurt, fresh water, an outdoor cooking area, a composting toilet, a chiminea for fires, a pond for a dip, plenty of space, and bear bags... because you are indeed in the woods. Bryan and Rachel are wonderful hosts. They are accessible but respectful of your privacy, available even though fairly busy working on their farm, and genuinely kind hearted people.

  • My partner and I stayed here for a couple nights and it was exactly what we needed! Beautiful night skies, farm animals, a lake, canoe, hiking close by. Definitely surrounded by nature. We booked last minute and Brian was very responsive and accommodating! We arrived late, around 11pm, and Brian met us and showed us around like it was the middle of the day. He was made us feel comfortable and at ease as soon as we got out of the car. The farm is wonderful, and I love that it is off-grid. We unfortunately booked too late to get meals included, but there is an outdoor kitchen so we had no problems making our own meals. Everything was very clean and the bean bags are surprisingly comfortable! We brought our pup and she was able to be off leash. The yurt has multiple heavy curtains instead of doors, so we did keep our pup on leash at night and fastened to the inside of the yurt. This was not a problem for us, but might be important to others thinking about bringing pets along! She was still able to have full range of the yurt with her long leash. Also, definitely bring bug spray/sleep in long johns and socks. All in all a perfect weekend in the woods and would come back any time! I definitely recommend! Thank you so much!

  • A perfect low-key long weekend away! The yurt is extremely cozy, and we had a great time cooking great outdoor dinners in their little camping kitchen, stargazing by the lake, and warming up by a fire on our last night. And we held newborn baby goats delivered on the premises! Brian was a kind, thoughtful host who cooked us a mean breakfast our first morning. Thank you!

  • A whole lot of WONDERFUL!! If you are seeking a unique, relaxing and beautiful experience this is a place to find it!! We (my husband and 4.5 yr old son) enjoyed EVERY part of our stay at Rachel and Brian's: "yurting", canoeing, visiting farm animals, hiking, lake swimming, wandering around the fairy forrest and labyrinth walking. We took the 3 meal/day food plan and had amazingly delicious and varied farm fresh healthy meals which included homemade breads, including gluten free options (I have Celiac disease). Moreover, they were able to deal with our son's somewhat picky eating habits ... they even got him to try fresh cooked red beets and he loved them!! Thank you, Rachel and Brian, for being such gracious and thoughtful hosts. Side note: If you want a change up to your idyllic days at Brian and Rachel's there are many terrific places to visit around the Rensselaerville (a lovely little hamlet) area. Brian and Rachel were super knowledgeable and helpful on this front as well.

There are art shows and openings at the Way Out Gallery, the R-ville Historical Society's Grist Mill and the Guggenheim Pavilion at the Carey Institute, which also the High Peaks Music Festival each summer and the Logan Non-Fiction Writers Retreat each winter. There is also a pleasant "road house" (The Shell Inn) on Rt. 85 just outside of town, and the highly regarded Palmer House Cafe, expected to re-open under new ownership in the near future.
  • This beautiful farm property perfectly matches the posted description. The "AirBnB" wing of the house includes four bedrooms, three of which were empty during my off-season stay. Everything was clean, comfortable and homey. It's not really a work destination, but I did have space (and electrical outlets, and decent WiFi) to spread out with my laptop for a few hours, as well. Simon and his wife were speedy with all responses and cheerfully accomodated a somewhat late arrival when I ran into travel issues. it was a short stay, but they were gracious and helpful hosts in every way.

  • The drive up to Hickory Hill is a scenic and peaceful one, and staying there for a weekend is the same. We enjoyed the clean and comfy room, as well as taking a hike around the property. Sunset and sunrise are gorgeous here. Simon was a delight to chat with regarding logistics and local recommendations for food and nature. Would recommend to anyone wanting to find respite from the city.

  • I reserved this stay for my family during my wedding weekend at the Carey Institute so I'm unable to speak to the specifics but the communication was fantastic and the host was very accommodating. Very convenient for groups staying off-site when attending a wedding at the Carey Institute

  • Very private and peaceful surroundings, which made it easy to get a good night's sleep. And the layout of the home affords each guest privacy. The rooms are separated nicely; we couldn't even hear anything from the living room and kitchen. Everything was clean & tidy. The bedrooms are all good sized, roomy and have extra chairs. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets, blankets, and bedspread were (I believe) 100% cotton. VERY comfy! The private entrance in the guest wing was convenient. We didn't feel at all as if we were disrupting anyone. Simon & Dardis were communicative and helpful.
