light and airy bungalow in a quiet village. an excellent place for walking and cycling. close to Cardiff city centre (near bus route), a couple of miles from the sea and beaches and also convenient for the airport. local pub serves good food and several restaurants in the area.
Bike storage available and also off road parking. Walking and cycling routes in the area can be recommended. Dogs welcome as long as they mix well
This room is part of a house with one permanent resident and 2 other guest rooms. It's obviously no quaint cottage B and B, but what you will get is well kept, single room with great local hosts as a base for you time in Cardiff. (And cute animals!)
Albany and Crwys road are full of shops if you need anything.
We're 2 minutes walk for the wonder that is City road, famous for it's international culinary offerings.
THINGS TO SEE
Cardiff city centre has a great castle and museums. Also it's famous old shopping arcades.
Cardiff bay is a beautiful new development, plenty to see (and eat!)
We have great parks in the city.
If you're interested in traveling further:
By train Barry island is a poplar seafront on a sunny day. Also Swansea has a lot more to offer too.
If you've got a car you'll be able to reach Wales' real gems. The Brecon Beacons national park for walking and adventure sports to the north. And west are the beautiful beaches of the vale of Glamorgan (particularly Southerndown!) and the Gower peninsula.
Cathays station is a 10 minute walk away.
Cardiff city centre is 20-25 walk.
There is street parking but some of it is residents only but something can usually be shuffled around to accommodate if the street is busy.
If you are arriving by train your best options are to catch a train to Cathays station then head for Woodville road. I 'think' that journey might be included in your ticket.
The number 38 bus comes very close and stops on crwys road. That should be about £1.80 for a single journey or £3.60 for an all day ticket to go exploring.
Unless it's rush hour a taxi should only be about £6.
If you're arriving by coach, ask your driver to stop at the Cardiff university students union stop. (I think most routes pass it but only stop if requested)
This stop is right next to Cathays train station and only ten minutes walk from the house.
We have a cat! Be aware for allergies and try not to let her escape out the front door. :)
We also have a well behaved and adorable puppy.
The space is simple and furnished with a single bed, desk, chair, drawers reading light and cupboard. (The room is pictured as it was when our last housemate lived there.)
The bathrooms are shared. There are two between the three guest rooms.
I live at the property so am in them regularly to make sure they stay very clean.
We provide a bath towel, hand towel and soap
And shower gels/and shampoo.
We clean thoroughly between guests but will not disturb your room during you visit.
Guests will have access to the lounge room and access to the kitchen for tea and coffee facilities.
We also make space available for storing some food and facilities for cooking.
We know the area well and can recommend places to visit and see that you're settled, then let you get to exploring the city.
We'll be available by text or call to solve any problems you have.
We're friendly ordinary people doing our best.

It's a warm, bright and airy room which is just perfect for relaxing in after a busy day. So what are you waiting for? Drop us a line and and sample our authentic Cardiff hospitality
Canton is easily my favourite part of Cardiff. There are so many delicious restaurants, pubs and parks it's hard to know where to begin. My house is also just 5 minutes walk away from the amazing Chapter, a cinema, bar and arts space, and Llandaff, one of the city's oldest areas and home to BBC Wales, is also very easy to get to.
The city centre and train station is 20 minutes walk away, or a short ride on the 13, 17, 18 or X1 bus from Cowbridge Road. The 61 bus will also get you here and stops on Romilly Road which is a little nearer the house.
Parking isn't too much of a problem on the road (unless there's football on at the nearby Cardiff City stadium) if you are arriving by car.
My cat Biggie lives here - he's very friendly and curious.... also, regarding check-in, any time from around 2pm is fine on weekends but I may have to be later on weekdays (from about 6pm) because of work.
You'll have a room with a lovely wrought iron bed, drawers and a clothing rack for your stuff.
The house is yours! You'll have access to the spacious lounge and dining area, newly renovated kitchen and, of course, the bathroom. There's also a studio/office at the back of the house that you can use if you need to work.
I work at an office about 20 minutes away most days, but I'll be available on the phone. In the evenings, I'm happy to show you around the area, recommend places to go and give helpful tips and advice on how to get the most out of your stay in Cardiff.
My place is close to the city centre, parks, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the cosines, no curfew time and the price rate hopefully.. My place is good for solo adventurers.

Private room in Cardiff
Convenient for city centre - 20-25 minute walk. High quality, Muji double bed, firm mattress, bedding. Wooden floorboards, wardrobe, hangers. Table & 2 chairs, mirror & hair dryer. Black-out curtains. Bread for toasting/ cereal for breakfast. Teas/coffee. 2 cats live here. Is suitable for independent guests who want to use the place as a base. Kitchen facilities are available - but no strong smells please (I'm vegetarian, and don't want strong meaty/fishy/ seafood smells) in the house.
Splott is very convenient for the city centre, and it only takes around 20- 25 minutes to walk into town. There is a bus route that comes past my house, though I always walk in and out. The convenience is excellent - just 20/25 mins walk to Queen Street, which is why I live here. Regarding neighbourhood characteristics, Splott is not the prettiest parts of Cardiff, and is a concrete area, without many trees or parks. As it is a very ordinary area, this is reflected in the reasonable price of staying here. Please bear in mind that this is a very ordinary part of Cardiff if you'd like to book a space here, and I would appreciate it if you would base your stay on the fact that the main thing going for this area is its convenience to the city centre, and the reasonable price of staying here. There are very few local amenities here, but it is just 20-25 mins walk to town.
I'd recommend Cardiff city centre, the castle, castell coch (just outside Cardiff), Cardiff Bay, Penarth (just outside Cardiff).
Bus No 11 goes via Splott Road (about a 5 min walk from my house) and takes you to the city centre / and back.
There is a bus stop at the end of my street - and it's no: 1. This takes you to the city centre (17 mins). Mon-Fri: from 06:09 around every 30 mins until around 8pm. Sat: from 07:13 every hour until around 8pm. There are no buses at this stop on Sundays. Also, please be aware that buses stop coming to this stop by around 8pm Mon-Sat.
If you're getting here by train, it's a 30 minute walk here from Cardiff Central Station, or a taxi would cost less than £10. Similarly, Megabus is around a 30 minute walk, and National Express Coach is around a 35 minute walk.
I have two cats so the place is really only suitable for guests who are fine with cats.
The wooden staircase is quite steep.
The bathroom is through the kitchen, and the bathroom light is unusually in the kitchen. (The kitchen light is in the living room !). There's no microwave oven.
There's a Lidl supermarket less than 5 minutes walk from the house.
Recycled and non-recycled waste goes in the bins underneath the stairs.
Check in is from 3pm. Check out is 11am (including luggage) so that I have time to prepare the room for the next guest.
I am a non-smoker, and this is available to non-smokers only.
The bedroom is spacious, simple and the double bed is of a high quality - Muji, and the mattress is firm. There are wooden floorboards, a table/desk and 2 chairs, a built in wardrobe, with some hangers, black-out curtains, a table mirror and a hair dryer. A simple, continental breakfast is provided for you to help yourself to: cereal, bread for toasting, teas (normal and herbal), coffee.
The bathroom is downstairs and has a hot shower.
The house though is much older (1902) and has lots of character, and because of its age and that it isn't generally modernised, isn't spotless like a new build. The space would suit travellers who are fine with old, slightly rickety houses !
I may not be able to be there to meet you, so I offer the flexibility of check ins from 3pm. There is a key safe / key lock mounted next to the front door which is very simple to use. I'll send a code and (easy) instructions (ie arrange the code, and pull the switch down) as soon as you book. Please help yourselves to teas/coffee/juice/biscuits on your arrival if you would like to.
If you'd like to use the washing machine, please ask and I'll put the load on with you at £4 a load.
The kitchen isn't available for use (except for cereal / toast for breakfast; and teas / coffee)
Bedroom, Bathroom, Living/Dining Room.
I'm used to lodgers and guests and respect your space and staying here would not feel invasive for you.
This is ideal for independent travellers; I am available if you need anything, but otherwise I do my own thing.
Please be aware that once a month I won't be around at all on a weekend. It's just as easy due to the key safe.
My little Honda TNActy romahome is parked in our garden and is an affordable and fun way to visit the lovely city of Cardiff. It's literally a bed with a little area to stand and some over cab storage, but it's comfy, dry and warm. We look forward to seeing you!
Guests will have access to the house and all its facilities; toilet, shower, kitchen, living room and dining room.
