**About that Corona virus.** If you still need to travel, a single family home to yourself is relatively safe! Intense cleaning protocol is being practiced. All surfaces are disinfected between reservations, and all linens are washed, including bedspreads and throw pillows, everything. The Duck 'N' Roll inn is a 3 bedroom home situated on a urban duck farm. A combination of contemporary features and old-time cottage charm will keep you comfortable and cozy while you enjoy Detroit's east side.
The Duck 'N' Roll Inn has been a home to journalists, documentary filmmakers, artists, performers, urban planners and explorers, and this year, a temporary home for families reuniting. It's been a joy to teach the kids about the ducks! The "Duck 'N' Roll Inn" is an eclectic farmhouse on an urban duck farm, officially known as Laid In Detroit. The farm provides pasture raised duck eggs to Rock City Eatery, as well as local residents. Located in the easy-going east side, Laid In Detroit was voted "Best Inner City Duck Farm" by the staff of the Metro Times. Though it's not so much an "inner city" vibe as it is a laid back oasis amongst urban sprawl. It encompasses 6 city lots full of trees and garden, The house has 3 bedrooms--a nautical room, and kid friendly room, and a spacious bedroom known as "the disco room," which features a large skylight, a woodburning stove, enormous chalk boards, and a sound system with a disco ball so that it doubles as a dance floor! There is one full bath with an extra wide jacuzzi tub, as well as a half bath on the first floor. The property also features a steel bbq in the form of a dinosaur, an adobe pizza oven on site, as well as panoramic views of the gardens and the ducks frolicking in the pasture. We have a new addition to the farm! Meg, the livestock guardian dog is keeping us safe from predators and prowlers. Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are known for their friendly, gentle demeanor, as well as their superior livestock guarding abilities. When you meet her, give her a biscuit and a pat. She loves guests! (By the way, the dog is off limits to the house unless invited! No worries if you are allergic or not an animal lover.) The house is full of character with a large kitchen and dining area. The property also has many ecological features, such as a green roof over the duck coop. Your stay here will not only be relaxing and fun, but educational as well. Typical guests who have really enjoyed the Duck 'N' Roll Inn are artists, urban gardening fans, photographers, journalists, film makers, animal lovers, students, musicians, world travelers and anyone with an adventurous mindset. You can also rest easy knowing that the money from your reservation is going directly to a small farm business in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. Laid In Detroit has hosts many events, including an annual Easter party for the kids.
Cornerstone Village, once a stable working class neighborhood founded by Belgian immigrants (some refer to it as "the Belgian triangle") has also been affected by the recent mass exodus from Detroit. But a strong coalition of homeowners with deep roots in the community have held things together. You will encounter some blight and vacant homes in the neighborhood. I am currently waiting for three of them to get knocked down on my street. Hoefully it will happen soon in 2019. There are characters, and oftentimes people are out and about, playing music and socializing, but it is a friendly neighborhood. All guests have had a safe experience here. I haven't had a single incident of crime since I started hosting in 2012. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as bars, pubs, and grocery stores. The Cadieux Cafe and Ye Olde Tap Room have been around for a century. Trader Joe's and Kroger grocery are within walking distance.

  • The stay wa as amazing. The house was stylish and cozy, and to top it off both Meg and the ducks were awesome! Would highly recommend to anyone.

  • The Duck 'N' Roll Inn is great! Ducks are fun to watch and Meg was fun to hang out with :) We personally loved it, but we do fit the description of people who like adventures, artists, musicians, etc. and maybe wouldn't recommend this particular place to some of our friends and family who prefer more traditional accommodations. Suzanne was very quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay, was super easy going during our time there, and very understanding when an unfortunate mistake caused some minor damage that I didn't know about before we left. All in all, we had a great stay and would love to go back sometime!

  • Wow! I can hardly put into words how grateful I am for my experience at this cute house! I was visiting my partner in Detroit this week and we needed a quiet place away from his small family home. This place is right on the edge of Gross Pointe so there’s amazing shopping and food. The house is so charming and has everything you need. I especially admired the vintage stove. And don’t get me started on the ducks and sweet dog! This was probably my favorite Airbnb experience yet. Would love to return. Thank you Suzanne!!

    Claire2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Eclectic and amazing space in Detroit. Close to many things to see and do. Plenty of space to hang out around the house. The ducks are amazing and fun to listen to. Meg the dog was a sweetie and we loved cuddling with her. This is an older style house but by no means dirty. It was quiet and beautiful outside at night and we felt completely safe.

This is a quintessential Detroit loft, capturing just what the city is all about- taking something old and making it new, breathing new life into it. This gorgeous loft is located in a 1920’s automotive factory, and has retained some of those original characters like the exposed brick, hardwood floors, wood pillars and other little details reminding all that it was a bustling factory. Located in an industrial / up and coming area. Easily access everything Detroit has to offer in 3-10 min.
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. It’s great for couples, small groups or solo travelers. • WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C unit • Private entrance • Parking right outside the door Sleeping arrangements: • Queen pillow top mattress • Twin bed (upstairs) • Sofa
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, and I’d say that it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • I would recommend and come back many times over, great value!

Get out of the downtown rush and traffic for a restful stay in a calm and lovely apartment. Only 2 blocks from I-96, stay close to the city center action without the steep downtown prices!
PARKING: Plenty of free street parking directly in front of this unit. FOOD & DRINK: Coffee, tea, filtered water, popcorn air popper & kernels, fresh fruit, & supplies for a DIY breakfast. If you wish to cook other meals, request any specific kitchen utensils or cookware you may need and we will do our best to supply! FAMILY FRIENDLY: We love using Airbnb when we travel with our family and we'd love to accommodate any children traveling with you too! We have 2 folding cots, a pack n' play, high chair, children's games and toys all available by request. PETS: We have a few outdoor kitties who may greet you at the door, but they are not permitted inside. Feel free to take a walk to the backyard and meet our dozen brown hens! NOISE: This unit is the upper unit of a multi-family home. We have two young sons and two teenage boys who live with us as well. We do our best to be courteous of guests with our volume of music and play.
This home is located on a quiet neighborhood street, and like many neighborhood streets in Detroit, our block has some vacant homes. The occupied homes on our block are well cared for by kind retired folks and middle-aged families with kids. We've lived here peacefully for over 7 years and appreciate the many ways our neighbors look out for us. There is a full-size grocery and liquor store located less than 5 minute walk from this home. CVS, Dollar General, and fast food options all within walking distance. At this time, most restaurant delivery services do not deliver to this area, although grocery services such as Instacart and Shipt do deliver.
  • Great little charming unit very close to downtown, fantastic location and great hospitality from the Lindsay.

    Safiya 2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, friendly neighbors, 1/2 a block away from a grocery store, fresh eggs, popcorn station, what more could you want?

    Ailee2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay's place is great. It is convenient if you need a place near Detroit, but not in the city. The neighborhood is quiet and her place is comfortable and easy to get to. I will definitely go back if I need a stay near Detroit!

    Jamie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsey’s is cute and quaint. Exactly as pictured. She’s super accommodating and it was easy to find.

    Asia2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay is an incredible, thoughtful, gracious host who made herself available to me from the very beginning of my booking. Check-in is easy and comes with user-friendly photos and instructions over the airbnb app. The house is cute, clean, and welcoming, although it is in an area that appears to be more rough than what I am used to. I spent time in several areas in Detroit, both near and far from Lindsay's neighborhood, and I honestly cannot say that I felt more unsafe in Lindsay's neighborhood that I did in any of those other Detroit neighborhoods. All in all, brava Lindsay! Highly recommended for anyone spending time in Detroit who is looking for a home away from home.

    Ashley2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice 2 bedroom apartment about 20 mins from Detroit. It’s a perfect, out of the way location. Loved having 2 separate bedrooms. Call for a Uber pick up. That also went smoothly. All in all a great weekend. Just two old moms. 🤷🏻‍♀️

A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. In response to coronavirus, we are blocking four days of vacancy between all guests, and doing extensive disinfecting cleans of the space and linens. Kitchens are stocked with food. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots, including a house in West Village that can host up to 16 people: http://airbnb.com/p/detroitwildwest This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm. Since I took the listing photos, I have had new counters and cabinets installed in the kitchen (it's better!). The dishwasher has also been removed per building policy.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Comfy cozy. Beautiful view from the many windows.

    Angela2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, location, and overall good value. I would definitely recommend for a couple or group of close friends.

    L-Jay2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! We had a great Saturday night out in Detroit, but the highlight of our trip was honestly the space where we got to feel at home for the night. It was such a beautiful place.

    Kim2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was traveling for work & instead of being stuck in a hotel for a month, I tried my luck with this Air BnB. The apartment itself was fantastic--the layout is spacious and elegantly decorated. The building itself, an old warehouse converted into lofts, was industrial & spooky at times, but the loft was incredibly homey and secure. There's available amenities--basic kitchen tools and dishes, shower amenities (such as shampoo and lotion), and bedding/pillows. Karen, the co-host who manages the loft, is great with communication and more than accommodating. If you plan to stay for an extended period of time as I did, she will even come to replace the linens and towels with fresh ones so you do not have to worry about that yourself. They even have part of the room decorated with artwork from local artists available for purchase if you are keen on taking home a keepsake from the city. This loft made me feel at home while away from my actual home for so long & I will definitely be trying to stay again given the opportunity.

*Please read to the end before booking* Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors, pillars and steam pipes are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area (an urban explorer’s dream) Within a 10 min drive to you can get to everything Detroit has to offer. My loft and I were featured in AirbnbMag November 2018!!
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. At the moment it is ideal for couples or 2 people who are ok sharing the bed on the ground floor. The upstairs area is off limits until spring, because it gets very warm up there from the steampipes. This is stands until amount mid April. Sleeping arrangements: • Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress • Sofa for 1 (not too tall) •WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C, radiators, fans for temp control

  • This space is the perfect Bohemian oasis for anyone looking for this aesthetic. The natural textures, bright colors and gold accents made for a lovely photoshoot with my wellness clients. There were also a few plants in the space that made for great props. I will be back!

    Bailey2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The heat was fairly high, which I found very cozy but might be too much for some. Although it definitely is not in Georgia’s control, we did have an issue with the upstairs neighbors making a fair amount of noise, it sounded like running. But for everything Georgia can do, it was great!

    Amelia2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay if you want to explore downtown Detroit. Only a 5-10 minute Uber away from downtown. Very stylish place, really well decorated! Would highly recommend staying here. Host is very friendly too

  • Georgia's place is so cute! We loved the decor and it was very clean and comfortable. Georgia warns you about how hot it gets in the apartment, and she's right! That might be the only downside...but the building is really cool and it's a unique place to stay in Detroit. She was very responsive and a great host.

    Sierra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place is great! Super stylish and well put together. Her description of the space was spot on and the space fit our needs perfectly. We will definitely be back

The room features a comfy king-size memory foam bed (size: 76 in x 80 in) with many additional amenities including a microwave, mini fridge and auto-locking digital door lock. OUR HOUSE Our house is not a typical 'AIRBNB' but closer to a big house with a European hostel vibe. In fact, traveling and staying in hostels in South of Spain is how our relationship started, which inspired us to create a space like this. We’ve made lots of friends while traveling and staying in this type of shared living space and we love it. :) With that being said, this is not for everyone. THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU IF: * you like staying in a “European Hostel” style place. We met and fell in love while road tripping and hostelling through Europe and it’s been a goal of ours to recreate that type of place here! * You want to make new friends and socialize with people from around the world. * You don’t mind sharing space with others. In our house we often cook together and some of our rooms don’t have a private bathroom so you’ll need to be okay sharing with others. THIS PLACE MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU IF: * You’re looking for a traditional “bed & breakfast” or hotel. This is not the style we are going for here. * You expect a “full service” experience. Our household is all about self-sufficiency and we expect guests to check themselves in and get in touch with us if there’s anything they need.
Our house is just up from Belle Isle on the same street! We're close to Eastern Market to our north west and West Village / Indian Village to our south east. Straight shot over to Downtown / Midtown and most top attractions are within 3 miles. A lot of homes in this area are being revitalized right now but there are still a lot of work to be done and you'll probably see some blighted houses nearby. If you want some more info about neighborhoods or places to check out please let us know! We have an extensive travel guide we put together for our guests.
  • Good location, really neat layout that allows for meeting new people. Communal resources for breakfast and fun hangout lounge.

  • Great spot at a great value. The room and shared spaces were very clean. Definitely a lot of activity going on while I was there but I didn't have any issues. Everyone I met was super friendly!

  • Detroit Adventure's place was great! We didn't spend much time there because we were mostly out and about but the room was lovely and very clean. Self check-in was smooth and easy and they gave us all the details needed ahead of time. There's shared bathroom, showers and common space, so as long as you're prepared for the hostel vibe you'll love your stay here :)

    Cory2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Best personal touch was the fresh home made bread and coffee in the morning. The bed was super comfortable and provided a great night sleep. Amenities and room was very clean and great value while being close to downtown. Thank you Jenny and Alex.

    Sandro2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great clean space ! Jennifer was very responsive and accommodated me without hesitation. I highly recommend this space if you don't mind the doorm like feel. Even with shared space ,which may include bathrooms, (it depends on the space you pick) privacy was not an issue.

  • Detroit Adventures was a wonderful place to stay! It’s awesome to see what they’re doing with the place. If you’d like TOTAL privacy, this wouldn’t be your best choice, but like the hosts say in their info, if you’d like to meet some people (even in passing) and stay at a place with more of a hostel-y / communal feel, this is perfect! :)

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay, will for sure stay here again :)

    Nikki2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are spacious but cozy. Keep in mind that it's a hostel-like space so the bathrooms and kitchen are communal, but everything is sparkling clean. A delightful home, we would love to stay again.

My wife, our 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter, and I live in one of the safest and most beautiful areas of Detroit, full of 1920s-era brick homes. We are within easy reach of Downtown and Midtown, with all of their museums, sports arenas, and other attractions. The house is roomy, with a total of 3 floors and a basement, 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and 2 half baths, most of which is available for guests to use. This listing is a private second-floor bedroom with access to common areas.
The Balcony Room is a private bedroom on the second floor of our home and is next-door to a private full bathroom with shower. There is a full-sized bed in the room, as well as a queen-sized air mattress that I blow up on request or for groups larger than 2. This is the only bedroom with access to the balcony, which is on the roof of our sunroom. It is decorated with my own photographs from trips to numerous states and countries. My wife and I painted the room ourselves, and I installed the ceiling fan myself.
The University District is among the nicest and safest areas of Detroit. Almost all of the houses are 1920s and 1930s brick structures, and the residents are amazingly friendly and helpful.
  • Brian was an amazing host.

    Farrel2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brian's place was epic, really cool looking place, the house had sort of Victorian feel too it and it was a real cool looking neighborhood. They're hand soap smelled amazing, the bathroom and my room both could be locked from inside which is always a huge plus, my room even had a balcony" excellent communication and hospitality, they even had tums when I was having trouble faking asleep due to indigestion. Brian was really cool too, had lots of interesting information to share including about the area and I probably could have talked to him for hours if I didn't have to go to work lol. I'd definitely stay agai

    David2020-03-11T00:00:00Z

    Arriana2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful host! The area is beautiful and very safe!! Brian and Sara left an amazing list of places to see, restaurants to try and the packet that shares the history of their home and the surrounding area was a fantastic touch! Uber from their home to Greektown was only 17.00 and we used Uber to get from the stadium back and it was 45.00 (cost was more because of demand, but well worth not having to fight the traffic) - We will use this location again when we visit Detroit - Enjoy

    Bryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brian & Sara were exceptionally polite and accommodating. The residence was spacious. Loved the balcony. Coffee shops, restaurants, entertainment options, easy access to freeways, downtown approx 10 minute drive away. It was a great experience.

  • Wow! This place is really cool. It is so representative of Detroit: gritty, cool, beautiful. It had everything I needed for a great night. It’s a short walk to all the cool stuff in Corktown. I moved the bed to the middle of the room to get a better view of the city. It could be its own romantic evening. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.

Bright, spacious and fun. Wake up to the sunrise just out your window and enjoy a cup of coffee observing the calm waters and view of Windsor Canada. Only 5 minutes from downtown detroit. This loft overlooks the river and is connected to the beautiful and romantic riverwalk. Enjoy a scenic walk or bike ride through some od Detroit's best kept secrets such as the dequinder cut and Belle Isle.
The building stays true to Detroit's cultural history as it is rustic and once used by manufacturers. Turned into an artist's loft space, the living space features exposed red brick throughout. Interior decor is Mid-Century meets Contemporary themes. Coffee and cereal included.
The neighborhood is very safe. The apartment building is directly on the Detroit River Front, which it should be noted that the River Front has completely been renovated and truly family friendly. A Walgreens is directly across the street as well as a gas station on the corner. Getting around is fairly easy. Most restaurants and cafes are within a 5-10 minute driving distance.

An Artsy rustic loft with exposed brick and exposed wood beams accompanied by paint splatter and and high ceilings. From the recessed can lighting in the kitchen to the hanging rail lighting 15+ ft above the living room, the place is sure to bring out the artist in you. The place is one of a kind and really cozy and perfect for weekend getaway or short stay located less then 10 min from downtown it’s ideal for just about any thing that brings you to Detroit
The entire place is yours to use.
There isn’t really any neighborhood, it’s a really big stand alone building. The building is very unassuming, you’d miss it if you didn’t know it was there, located just under an overpass a building that once was a factory, now converted into lofts. There are railroad tracks that pass by the building and occasionally you can catch a train.

Secure. update 6-2-18 been doing this for 4 years now. vast majority of guests have been more than satisfied with the space, but read the reviews. if you think approximately $30 dollars should have you in a hotel i don't know what to tell you.

    Neighbors are nice.
  • Tommie is great. Even if you mess up your timing or have trouble finding the place he'll help you out. You get what you pay for, place was comfy enough and the bathroom worked and had hot water. Can't ask for much more than that.

Three rooms in lower flat. built in 1917, originally for petite bourgeoisie. free parking in back. convenient access to all areas of metro detroit. near downtown and cultural center. on major bus route. update: 6-2-18 been doing this for 4 year. most guests have expressed satisfaction with the space. i aim to satisfy MOST people. people looking for obsequious attention should look elsewhere.
pewbawic tiles on fireplace. good neighbors. on busy thoroughfare.
part of what was called the "north end" in days gone by, is now considered the periphery of an expanded "new center area". hitsville usa aka motown can be seen form the front window. some of its artists lived on this block. pick up the local entertainment rag the metro times, to find all the hip spots, in the hip areas. if interested, i can help you navigate to some of the rest of detroit.
  • Pleasures of this place included a warm bathroom heated by old fashioned radiator; stacks of interesting books in the guest room; family photos in the dining room; cupboards full of dishes and Tommie's hospitality. It is a half hour walk to WSU, past the Ford Medical Center which is expanding. Walking in the other direction on Grand Blvd I sensed I was in a ghost town with abandoned brick buildings from days past.

  • Very convenient 🙌

    Edgardo2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Tommy's place. It was central to everything. If a hostel type situation isn't for you then I recommend staying elsewhere. Tommy greeted us at the door and showed us around the place . I would stay again.

    Holly2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, Tommie's place is of great value and is about a 10 minute drive from Downtown Detroit. He was super helpful and accommodating during my stay there.

  • You will get the true feel of Detroit by staying here. It’s a great place, super safe and close to everything Detroit has to offer. I will be sure to come back!

  • A nice space for a quick weekend trip, it had all the necessities.

    Megan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in and great place to stay. The basement is a bit cold but they provided two heaters in the space that heated it up nicely. Wish we could have met the puppy!

  • The basement suit was super nice and very clean. They both helped respond when I needed help with anything and the weekend I stayed was perfect. The footsteps are loud but I expected that because of the reviews and because it is a basement. My boyfriend slept through the footsteps and since I am a light sleeper I wear ear plugs sometimes and it helped me through the night. The shower was good I had no complaints at all. Thanks for letting me stay I’m sure u will be back to stay next time I am in town.

    Caelyn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for the price! It was cozy and had a nice vibe. It was very much a basement, but they decorated it and made the place more homey. They also thought of the small things you may need like paper plates and napkins and a coffee maker :) as well as floss and lotion amongst other things. Also, the bedroom was very comfortable. I slept very well :)

  • What else can I say about Jeff’s that I haven’t already said ie in my two previous reviews? Hands-down, the best Airbnb I know of in Detroit! This was my first experience of his hosting guests on the other side of the apt (at the same time) & it was NP whatsoever. Once again, I couldn’t have been more comfortable or felt more rested & am already looking forward to my next stay :-)

    Terry2020-03-11T00:00:00Z

The house is a great location. 1 mile for I-94. About a 20 min drive to downtown Detroit. 40 min to Ann Arbor. Single room with a double bed. Closet space, night side tables, door locks, clean sheets, towels, all the comforts of home. Great for weekend getaways or week long work trips.
I have 1 roommate but we all keep pretty quiet. I am pretty much only home to sleep, shower, and head to work. I have a cat, Darth Kittious. She is very sweet and loves attention but please be courteous and let her come to you.
Fairly quiet suburb of Detroit. There is a hospital near by so please don't be alarmed if you hear sirens.

The amenities are thoughtfully provided like a portable table as a work station. But the best part of my experience was the host himself - very accomodative and co-operative. I would definitely recommend the place.

THE ROOM This is a spacious private room with a king bed (Size: 76 in x 80 in) comes with an ensuite bathroom. Room door has digital door lock so it is convenient for a group as well. Room also has an in-room mini-fridge and microwave.
  • An absolutely amazing space. It honestly felt like returning home! They perfectly achieve the middle ground between hotel and hostel. We got a private room and it was so lovely but with an option to hang out in the common spaces and encounter fellow travelers. An amazing loaf of fresh bread and freshly brewed coffee waited in the kitchen upon waking. Fully recommend!

    Jessica2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very chill location, easy check in and out processes. There was the cutest dog who was well behaved and lovey in the hallway at times. Homemade bread left in the kitchen. Cozy touches, very simple place going through reno. The other guests were friendly, and never once felt uncomfortable. Minimal amenities (towels, bathroom stuff, etc) but it really sufficed for my stay since we mostly only slept there. Fair value.

The loft is also super close to downtown, all festivals (e.g., Movement, MoPop) and the Cobo Center (10-15 min walk); The Renaissance Center (RenCen, 6-min drive/27-min walk); and Hart Plaza is a 4-min drive/23-min walk past Rosa Park's old condo and the Detroit Riverwalk (a site of the Underground Railroad).
  • Very clean, convenient, and she was very helpful.

  • This is such a wonderful, serene space, I wish I could live there! I stayed for a work trip and it was the perfect place to unwind and feel at home away from home. Also, the bed is VERY comfortable. I recommend it for anyone traveling for work long-term. It's much less depressing than a hotel...

  • This is our second stay at Danielle’s and we love her space! Always even better than advertised, the space was beautiful and clean with tons of light and stylish touches. We love the loft location - close to both downtown and Corktown. Danielle also gives the best recommendations and tips! We’ll be back 😁

Our home is in a transitioning neighborhood and is great for seeing an emerging farming art community that’s close to Downtown. We’re a minute drive away from Eastern Market. We pride ourselves with having great communication. Come see the non-gentrified real Detroit! Because of supply and the virus, you’ll have to bring your own toilet paper, hand soap, and body soap. This should only be in effect until May 2020.
This house was built by grit and love. Load bearing walls were restructured, a pallet wall was built, and my wife's love of antique appliances can be seen throughout the house. The house is mostly done, with a couple side projects. But when is a house ever done? The room is comfortable and cool. Enjoy a comfy bed with a frame that was built by my wife! She is an amazing DIY'er. The location is surrounded by vacant lots that wonder what they'll become. The block is a tight network of 8 family homes. To the edge of Downtown it's a 8 min drive, 15 min bike ride, and a 25 min bus ride. Through the pain of this house construction, we've tasted the ashes that Detroit is rising from. And from these ashes are fruits we'd love to share with guests. Enjoy experiencing Detroit's neighborhoods at our house that was built by grit and love.
Our neighborhood is filled with a cast of characters that held the block together through the economic downfall of the city. Nature is reclaiming the neighborhood with Chinese ring-necked pheasants, urban farming, and blocks of vacant lots. Our block is dense with 8 houses. I've lived here for 4 years and have experienced no crime. Not to say it can't happen, so make sure you leave nothing in visible sight in your car. This neighborhood was hardest hit by Detroit's population lost, but is now a hidden gem waiting for more mix land uses, or a massive development project. Either way, come visit and see Detroit change before your eyes.
  • I had a fantastic stay in Detroit at large thanks to my amazing host, friendly and incredibly helpful - I've learned a lot about the city during those two days. The area is super safe and I enjoyed my time in the house, I was taken care of, I'd definitely come back.

  • Nice little room, no issues with anything in the area. Picked it for how close it was to the rencenter plus its great price. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • Great place..

    Erica2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great house for the area neighborhood is a bit run down but appreciate the property being restored as Detroit needs as many proactive land/homeowners as it can get. It’s a rough and tumble city full of great and interesting people when you look thru the fog

  • Adam’s place is perfect for a homey/ hostel type stay. They are responsive, super clean place and nice people.

My place is in the City which is great because its close to public transportation. But at the same time it has the feel of a suburban home with the quiet neighborhood. Its about halfway in between Novi and Downtown Detroit. You can even ride the bus here from the airport! You’ll love my place because of the central location, how clean it is, and the spacious rooms. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
Its a single family home. There is a front and back yard. On the main floor, there are two bedrooms in the back of the house and then a large bedroom upstairs. You will love the amount of space in the house .. its 1200 square feet with an 800 square ft basement. In the kitchen there is a tea kettle, coffee maker, stove, and refrigerator. Guests are welcome to use the washer and dryer in the basement.
Within walking distance, there is a coney island, fish and chips, chinese carryout, subway, and a pizza place.

  • Great stay

    Cruz2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! It's the cutest little loft very close to Downtown Detroit. You can see Ford Field and Comerica from the balcony. It is also very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved all the Detroit decor!

    Taylor2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest and stylish! The upper deck was so pretty. The loft ladder is a little steep, we just had to take real care when going up and down. All the little details made it feel very homey. There was a washer and dryer even in the unit! The parking (having to go inside to grab gate opener , then downstairs, then park and again when do it again when leaving) Wish there was a keypad at gate, and a drop box for key and opener. I am glad to of had gated parking, wish it had a key/ remote drop off box. I would stay there again, I went with a group of ladies, but we had an emergency to leave and didn’t stay the night unfortunately.

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Check in/out was easy. Nice location to walk to events. Great deck area, sad it was chilly during our stay, would have loved to use that space more. Sodas in fridge & coffee on hand made this feel extra welcoming, also loved the local soaps. Would definitely book this again when in Detroit!

Enjoy and explore the quaint but up-and-coming neighborhood of West Village Detroit. This cozy apartment is just steps away from new shops and restaurants like Sister Pie, Craft Work and Red Hook Coffee. With it’s historic elements in tact, wood floors, and antique charm the space has a subtle and sophisticated feel and was furnished with this in mind. The original murphy bed folds down in the living room and a custom made kitchen bar top folds up for extra guest accommodations.
The West Village neighborhood is a lovely up and coming area of Detroit. While it's still easiest to get around Detroit by car there are some great restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you'd like any recommendations just send me a message. We are also right next to Indian Village, a neighborhood with beautiful houses built in the early 1900s. Overall, the neighborhood is very walkable and friendly.
  • Unfortunately we were not able to stay at Morgan's place due to unexpected travel complications. We were very much looking forward to it, and will try to book again.
