Adorable, 1 bedroom Apartment that comfortably sleeps 2 people but could sleep another person on our extra long sofa. Our entrance is tucked behind our building that houses Tricia’s Treasures gifts & home decor, a store that has been around since 1998. The alley is clean and well lit. Just look for our sign on the door, you can’t miss it. We also have a bistro/coffee bar attached to our store that would be ideal for a piece of bakery, coffee specialty drink or a delicious lunch.

This home is located on 2.5 acre wooded lot. We have many options for you to relax and take in nature. There is a nice gazebo located roughly 40 feet from the back deck with seating and fireplace. This is a great place to relax, read a book, enjoy a glass of wine or time with your friends/family. Looking to relax inside the home, enjoy a nice bath in the whirlpool tub or relax in the living area with a gas fireplace and watch your favorite movie on the 50 inch curved TV.
We are at the end of the line for internet service. The service can become spotty at times (maybe happens a handful of times a year). Cell phone service can be limited depending on your carrier and phone. The home is located on the edge of a small swamp. This is normally dried up in the summer but sometimes you can hear deer walking through the swamp while enjoying a fire on the back deck.
This home is located on a shared driveway. It is generally very quiet but there are times that you will have traffic (cars, ATVs, snowmobiles, or walkers) going past the home. We are located 6 miles from Crandon, we has a grocery store, great restaurants, hardware store... If you are looking for additional shopping experience, Antigo or Rhinelander are roughly 40 minutes drive away. There are 3 medical clinics within 20 minute drive and the nearest hospitals would be located in Antigo or Rhinelander. We have 2 casinos located within 30 minutes from our home (Mole Lake Casino and Potawatomi Casino).
  • Responses quickly. Even held the days open for me so I could confirm my plans before booking. Provided coffee, great host.

  • Very clean and convenient

    Hector2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • A very pleasant surprise. I value quiet more than I value just about anything in lodging. The location is away from any main roads, but still easy to get to. The owners are quiet. The countryside is quiet. Well kept and clean. Two very spacious and well appointed bedrooms (one was really nicy painted and decorated!!). A LARGE full bathroom. A full kitchen with plates, cooking utensils, eating utensils, pots, pans, etc. Everything you need to make your own meals. Full refrigerator/freezer. Normal size microwave. Oven and range. Large living area with big screen TV. And.... bring your dogs with you. Great place. Will stay there again.

  • We had a great stay at Barbara’s country retreat. It was nice being situated on the second story and being able to look out the front deck with entrance. It was everything we needed. Simple and close the location we wanted to be. She accommodated our dogs which was a plus as well! Ed’s on Main had a fantastic fish fry. Highly recommend!

  • I can’t say enough about how wonderful my stay was with Donna and Mike at Crystal Bell! I would give 10 stars if I could. I was traveling solo and they made me feel like family, inviting me to dinners and outings with them. Truly some of the best people I have ever met. The home is beautiful with lots of space to rest and relax. That weekend it was full with a wedding in town and all the guests were kind and interesting people from across the country. Great breakfast and evening conversations. You will also love Donna’s hot breakfasts and Mike’s home-baked cookies/pastries everyday. They spoiled me all day with various delicious drinks and offerings, fresh made bed every morning. I couldn’t believe all this for such a low price. I’ve been traveling at Airbnb’s across the country and this has so far been my favorite stay. The area has many beautiful hiking trails and outdoor activities like white water rafting, ATV rentals, and boating. A great escape from the big cities and couldn’t be hosted by better people!

    Nicki2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you love History, if you love a fantastic experience with fascinating stories, spotlessly clean, then book with Mike and Donna. I really, really enjoyed the stay and the rest I received is priceless! Speaking of price, VERY affordable. Just a great experience all-around.

    Kristi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure staying with these folks, it was like I was part of the family, I enjoyed it tremendously, such great people. When ever I come back to this area I will have to stay with them again, for sure!!!!!

    Bill2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect perfection! This is by far the best Bell and Breakfast I’ve ever been too! You must stay here!!

    Mark2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at the Crystal Bell and hope to return soon! Although we found it through Airbnb, it is a traditional B&B with all of the luxuries and amenities associated with that. We had never visited a real B&B before, but the Crystal Bell opened our eyes to how great they can be. We were greeted with cookies, which immediately hooked me. But that was just the beginning as they also offer amazing homemade pastries and a full breakfast. The rooms were spacious, unique, and clean. The house itself has a fascinating history, and the current operators did an incredible job refurbishing while maintaining the traditional ascetic. I strongly suggest giving them a chance to prove their value. We will certainly be visiting again next time we are rafting in the area!

  • We used this as our base camp for our deer hunting season this year. A Wonderful Place!! Hosts are extremely friendly and approachable and responsive. Our expectations were met and exceeded. A beautiful lake home, and well provisioned with supplies and amenities would need. Comfortable and nicely decorated. Absolutely would rent this location again if the need arises.

This beautiful and cozy cabin is within walking distance to town, shops and restaurants, and also very close to ATV/snowmobile trails. Enjoy all the Northwoods has to offer in Lakewood, Wisconsin.
  • Everything was perfect! The log cabin is located at the edge of the forest and gives you an unforgettable atmosphere of surrounding nature. In the cabin, there's absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay and it's so well made in the inside. Tons of scenic views, trails and lakes hidden in the woods of the Lakewood area included. Check out the huge backyard with the fire pit at night when the stars light up in the sky and feel the nature! Katherine is a very very nice host. We've had a couple of questions and she answered immediately and provided us help. THANKS! If I'm going up north, I know where I'm exactly gonna go next time.

  • Great spot for a weekend away to snowmobile with my husband. We will be back again and hopefully in Summer Too :)

    Jamie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kayherine’s cabin blew away our expectations. Located close to town yet in the woods, this house was the end of a plowed road, to the west of us there was nothing but trees and wilderness. The cabin was great and very clean. The pictures do not do it justice. It is a full log cabin, not new log or fake log, real log cabin! Super awesome. I bet it has a unique history. It is bigger than I thought it would be from pictures. The bed in the master was ridiculously comfortable with really nice quality sheets. Fair price for lodging and realistic cleaning fee. We will stay again and recommend to friends. The driveway was perfectly plowed and deck shoveled when we arrived and while we were out for the day they plowed and shoveled the small amount of snow we had received during the night. Also flexible to work with and good communication. Thanks for the great time!

    Dawn2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a cabin in the deep Northwoods of Wisconsin super close to town, great local grocery store, very convenient to Lakewood Nordic Ski trails which was outstanding as we were there to train for the 2020 Birkie! T-Mobile does not have coverage at the cabin so we frequented local businesses with available WiFi.

    Joel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and cozy. A perfect getaway. Great communication and the place is exactly as advertised.

    Jenna2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

Nestled in the Nicolet National Forest, this upper apartment has 2 queen bedrooms, 2 twin floor mattresses, kitchen and bathroom. Located on the trails, we have plenty of parking for trucks, trailers, ATVS and snowmobiles. Fishermen and paddlers...lakes, streams, and the Wolf River are near! Hikers...visit the many nearby hiking areas including the Ice Age Trail. Hunters...our 60 acres are private, but we are a perfect base camp for hunting the Nicolet National Forest public land.
This is 500 SQ feet of private living space above our two-car attached garage. The only shared indoor area is the entrance from outside into our breezeway which includes a service door to our garage, an entrance door to our Homestead (which we keep closed), and the stairway leading to the Suite. Plenty of parking for trucks, trailers, and ATVs/UTVs/snowmobiles. The Suite/Homestead is on a dead end road, only about 1000 feet from a designated ATV route. A portion of Rose Lake Road is unplowed in winter so snowmobilers have access to snowmobile trails. After the volume of riding the trails all day, you'll love the quiet of our Cozy Suite! A note about Covid -19 -- We pride ourselves in providing clean rentals! However, when you leave your home to stay in ours, you assume all responsibility and risk for avoiding contact with a virus. We promise, like always, to clean and sanitize our places after each guest departure. But, for your own peace of mind, if you wish to bring your own disinfecting products/supplies to do a clean sweep before you settle in, you are very welcome to do so without hurting our pride one bit. These are the steps we take to try to protect ourselves and you from germs: 1) our rentals are vacant of guests for a minimum of 24 hours prior to your arrival 2) our rentals are cleaned and sanitized thoroughly after guest departures. This includes washing with appropriate cleaning products and sanitizing touch point surfaces with bleach solution 3) all bedding (sheets, blankets, coverlets, pillow cases, shams, and mattress pads) are laundered between each stay 4) weather permitting, windows are opened to air the space 5) rugs and furniture are vacuumed and spot cleaned Things we don't do: 1) We do not re-wash and sanitize the dishes. If you wish to do this before using them, please do. Bleach and instructions are located beneath the kitchen sink. 2) We do not take apart every board game and try to sanitize all playing pieces. If this is a concern, please bring your own games. 3) We do not treat rugs/carpeting/cloth furniture with disinfectant. 4) Although we do launder pillow cases, we do not launder the actual pillows after every stay. If this is unsettling to you, please bring your own pillow. Some guests have asked if they can set up a tent, camper or RV on our property. We consider this case by case and charge accordingly; so if you are wondering, please ask. Many people ask if they can bring their well-behaved, quiet pet to our Cozies. We do not allow pets inside our rentals. However, if you wish to bring a kennel to keep your well-behaved, quiet, friendly pet outdoors or in the heated garage below the Suite, we will permit. We also ask that you clean up all pet waste immediately, and that you repair any unexpected damage your pet might uncharacteristically create. Please obtain prior approval before showing up with a pet. If your pet will not tolerate being separated from you while you are in our Suite, please patronize a different Airbnb with a pet friendly policy.
We feel remote, but we do have neighbors. Please DO NOT go exploring before you talk with us so we can make sure you know our property borders. When guests accidentally wander onto our neighbors' private properties, it diminishes our reputation and the reputation of Airbnb. We love hosting, and we want to be a good neighbor so please, please educate yourself before you explore. We have walking trails on our property (60 acres), and our property borders the Nicolet National Forest which features thousands of miles of trails. Walkers and bicyclists will enjoy the forest roads surrounding us, and access to the Ice Age Trail is not too far away. Some area attractions include nearby Lakewood offering an awesome candy and ice cream store -- Sweet Memories Candy; a winery, shops, restaurants, and a local artist Joan White who has her studio right next door! Rent rafts or tubes from Bob and Joni's in Langlade ( 10 miles from us) to ride the Wolf River. Or drive a bit further south on HWY 55 to Herb's, Big Smokey Falls, or Shotgun Eddies to rent their rafts. Visit our directory to see recommendations of places to eat, drink, visit, and explore. Great online resources for more ideas include Oconto and Langlade Counties' and Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce websites and local snowmobile/atv clubs including Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club, Townsend, and Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club.
  • Lisa and Mike were fantastic! Very friendly welcoming people. Their place was right off the snowmobile trial, so super easy to find and access. My family really enjoyed the stay. They were responsive to one of our time sensitive requests and also had a local contact follow up to make sure all was good. • Don’t hesitate - just book this cabin! My wife and I have now stayed here twice and we always have had a wonderful time. There’s nothing quite like waking up to a gorgeous lake view and cooking on a wood stove. If you need to disconnect from life then this is it

  • We loved our stay at Jordan’s cabin. It was exactly what we expected and the perfect weekend getaway. Perfect spot for anyone looking to “unplug” and enjoy a weekend in the woods. Lots of places to hike and enjoy the beautiful area. The road into the cabin was still very snowy but we were expecting such based off prior reviews. The walk in was not a problem at all. We would definitely come back and stay again!!

  • A great and unique stay This space is very unique! I visited in February, so the lack of heat was evident. A couple tips from my stay: You’ll want to arrive early, as it takes several hours for the little wood burning stove to heat up the cabin. When I visited, the highs were in the 40s with lows in the 20s overnight, so quite mild. That helped. But my 7pm arrival time was an issue, as it didn’t give a chance for the cabin to heat up. Once it did, however, I was able to get the temperature inside the cabin to over 75 degrees (a little too warm!), even at night. Give it some time, and the stove will do its job! My other tip also relates to the cold. There is a foam topper on the mattress, which I’m sure is quite comfortable when the cabin is warm. However, it was frozen and stiff as a board when I arrived. I flipped the mattress and slept without the topper, and only realized what it was when I flipped it back before I left - just another reason to get the cabin warm before hitting the hay. Cooking on the stove is a time-consuming process. It takes a lot of wood, air, and time to get the stove heated to a point where cooking is possible. That said, once you do, it works well. Plan accordingly. I think the mattress is a full/double, not a queen, as the sheets I brought were a bit over-sized. The directions provided to the cabin were excellent! I had no problems finding it and really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay here again, even in winter, though it's obvious there are many more recreation opportunities at other times during the year.

  • A perfect escape into the north woods - just as advertised! For parking, we were unable to get into the driveway given a fresh snowfall of about a foot. We tucked the car on the side of the road so we didn't get stuck and left it there with no issues at all! The hike in, given the snow, was more difficult than anticipated. Pack lightly if there's a lot of snow! I had a sled for ice fishing that I used to pull everything in on which helped a lot, but a backpacking pack would work just as well. The cottage warms up about 2 hours after getting the fire going, FYI. A few sheets were all we needed to stay warm at night because the cabin got pretty toasty with the fire! Overall a great stay that I'd recommend!

    Nikita2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Want an adventure? Come here! If you like hiking, nearly roughing it, warm fires, afternoon naps, go to this cabin. It was the perfect get away to disconnect. Cell service is limited, which to me was a plus. Dogs are welcome. My dog enjoyed the half mile trek in the snow, and so did I! When you want to get away from the cabin a minute go to Lakewood and check out the cafe and candy shop! Or go see the Hodag in Rhinelander. Great value for the money and great adventure.

    Shirley2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to spend a few nights. If you stay during the winter like I did be ready for a rigorous hike in; be sure to bring a hiking pack. The space is beautiful and once you get the wood stove going it heats up wonderfully but slowly. I will certainly keep this place in mind when I plan another remote get away.

    Aram2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you’re looking for some place quiet. The hike through the snow (if you go in the winter) is a bit rough, so I’d suggest packing as little as possible and as compact as possible

    Jenna2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the Swedish Cottage! It’s rustic, for sure, but was exactly what we were looking for in a quiet getaway. The bed was very comfortable, and the wood burning stove kept us perfectly warm. We also used it for all of our cooking thanks to the cast iron skillet on site. Firewood was precut and located just outside the door. There isn’t any plumbing, but the outhouse (with Christmas lights!) and water cooler (BYO water) suited us just fine. Electricity was a plus. Cell service was almost non-existent, but that’s what we were expecting. We enjoyed exploring the property and surrounding area. The host was very responsive and welcoming. We’d definitely stay here again!

My place has direct access to the snowmobile and ATV trail, and is conveniently located on Highway 32. You’ll love my place because of the location, new furnishings, and massive garage space for your toys! My place is good for couples and big groups. We can fit a crowd of 10 with 3 bedrooms and a sofa bed. Plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers.
We have a huge kitchen for convenient meals (pizza oven) and four course meals (all new appliances and cookware)! There is a large living area with a fireplace for socializing with your travel partners. We offer three bedrooms, plus a futon and sleeper sofa to accommodate everyone in your group. Finally, we can offer garage space so those that are here for fishing, ATV-ing or snowmobiling can keep their toys cozy at night too!
There is a local winery nearby, some cute local shops, and lots and lots of nature to explore! There is also a Family Dollar Store right next door in case you forgot something at home. We are located less than 1 mile from Chain Lakes public boat landing in Lakewood, 8.7 miles from Potowatomi Casino in Carter, and 6.5 miles from Waubee Lodge.
  • Amazing place with every thing you need. Comfy beds and warm floors just a great place.

  • Joy's place is spacious, very clean and well suited for a group of 6-8. We loved the big bathtub and heated floor tiles. Really comfortable for our group after a day of cross-country skiing nearby.

  • I have a family trip every year to Mercer. After staying here we will always come back here! I look forward to future stays!!

    Larry2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We were in the area to ride ATV's and the location is right on the trail for quick and easy access. There was ample room for a couple trailers and storage was provided for the ATV's. House was spotless and cozy feeling. I wish there were a few more bowls/pans as we did cook and had to run next door at the Family Dollar to grab what we needed but overall they had the necessities. Lots of room in the house to spread out and love that there was enough seating in the living room for our group of 7 to sit comfortably all in the same room. We will be visiting the area again and will look to stay here again.

It is a stones throw from the trails, like the description says, which was perfect for the purpose of our trip. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to stay at this house again! • This place is just right with a great view of the lake. The patio overlooking the docks to the chairs just inside the patio glass if the weather isn't cooperating. The rooms are comfortable and the host is very attentive with communications.

  • Our stay was great. The scenery was breath taking as we were situated at a beautiful spot on the lake. Everything we needed was readily available and Brad was easy to communicate with. When planning your trip north, you definitely need to stay here!

  • This was one of the few times the actual rental was better than the description and pictures. Always a concern about how close neighbors are when renting a lake property, but this place definitely felt private and had plenty of room between places. The lake is beautiful and there is a nice swimming area onsite. Fishing, snorkeling, and boating are exactly what we wanted and the view from the deck is amazing. Very nice grill onsite, fire pit area, and even a gas fireplace on the deck. Inside was clean, spacious, and decorated nicely. Comfy beds,..... the list keeps going. Wonderful place and a great time, thanks for sharing your place!

Our place is a back-to-nature to nature- farm setting. For local activities, the Crandon Brush Run & Little Rice Lake are near. Crandon Hosts Kentuck Days in July and Art in the Square in September, and 40 miles from Hodag Country Fest. You’ll love our place because of the location, the farm ambiance, and the beautiful outdoors. The Loft is comfortable for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers ,and families
It is rustic but comfortable. Most people say they get a better night's sleep in the Loft than they do in their own beds!! We do not have WiFi as we want to keep the Loft simple and natural.
Quiet neighborhood, lots of horsepeople in the area. We do allow travelers with horses to stay with a slight increase in cost for the equine overnight.
  • It was a wonderful experience

  • Great Farm Experience. Fun loft over the barn w/ lots of Horses & Donkies! Very clean & comfortable. Very quiet...w/ the random braying of a donkey to lull you to sleep---Lol. About 30 min from Eagle River but worth it for us. Great space....

  • Lenore and Scott are wonderful people, the loft has everything you could want, so cute, clean, comfortable. Very private but also close to restaurants, bars and most importantly for me, close to the race track. Couldn’t have asked for better hosts, location or facilities. Hope to be back next year!

    Laura2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lenore and Scott's place was amazing! We took a quick overnight trip to relax during our last weekend of summer with our one year old son and dog. We were greeted immediately and given a tour of the farm. Lenore and Scott took time to make sure our son got to meet all of the animals in a fun, safe way. They provided a kennel for our dog and were patient when he barked at the animals (it was his first time meeting different large animals that weren't cattle). The loft had everything we needed and more. Every detail was carefully thought out and planned. We enjoyed dinner in town then a relaxing evening watching a movie and eating popcorn before we settled in for a great night's sleep. In the morning, breakfast items were provided and we walked around to see all the animals once again before leaving. The beds were comfortable, temperature was regulated well, and breakfast was perfect. We enjoyed our little adventure and our son even perfected his horse, pig, and donkey sounds by the end of our stay! Thanks again!

Our updated mobile home is at our business tucked up in the woods. Fire pit in the yard and a big deck out back with a grill to use. ATV and Snowmobile trail right across the road. Lakes are close for fishing and boating. Dishes are in the cabinets and house is fully stocked. The Tv has local channels and there is internet.
There is one queen bed in one bedroom, a bunk bed with a full lower and a twin upper in the other bedroom and two love seat style couches with beds in them. There is a washer and dryer. Gas grill on the back deck and fire pit in the front yard.

  • We travel to the Townsend/Lakewood area a lot for work. We like to stay at Ryan's place because it's close to where we work, we have a common workspace, and he keeps the place nice and clean. Beats hotel stays, hands down! Thanks again Ryan.

  • Ryan's place was so welcoming! Clean and updated, it was the perfect place for us to stay while attending a classy wedding in the woods nearby. Surrounded by the north woods, with plenty to do in the nearby town and all kinds of adventures to be had; Chute pond, Cathedral Pines and tons of trails to name a few. I would definitely return.

  • 6 out of 5 stars. Thanks Ryan for such a great dwelling! It's a diamond hidden in the woods. The house is fully furnished and you can find everything you need during your stay. It's superquiet. The nature of all the places around is awesome and you can find many hiking trails across the local forests. There are plenty of fishing and swimming lakes with public beaches in 10-15 mins of driving. I had a good time staying here and I'll be back to enjoy this place again.

Newer Cottage W/ BRAND NEW PONTOON BOAT Included in rent. Right on the water! 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on 1,300 acre Pickerel Lake on its own secluded bay with a newer pontoon boat. Sleeps 6 to 8 people. We just bought a superb 2018 model pontoon boat with a 4-stroke engine, live-well and more. We are close to the water. You’ll love our place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the tranquility and privacy of this place. The place is good for couples and families (with kids).
Our Cottage is very secluded and the last cottage on this side of the lake. Great location for fishing and boating and visiting nearby attractions. 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on 1,300 acre Pickerel Lake on its own secluded bay with a brand new pontoon boat included in the price. Sleeps up to 8 or 9 people. There is a nice driveway area and three steps that take you down to the yard area along the water’s edge where the fire pit is located. We have over 51 acres and over 2,500 feet of frontage on Pickerel Lake. The majority of the bay is part of our property. The privacy of this place is amazing. We are over 200 feet away from the lightly traveled Pickerel Lake Road. The cottage is tucked back by the lake and you cannot see the road from the cottage. We have 2 docks. The main one has an L and bench for sitting and a pontoon boat. The secondary dock has a canoe with paddles plus the row boat. We have a fire pit and dry/stacked firewood available in a storage shed. The cottage has about 1,000 square feet with 500 square feet downstairs and 500 upstairs. One room has a queen bed and a double bed. Another bedroom has one queen. The loft bedroom is a walk through bedroom with the TV, love seat and a day bed (twin bed) that has a trundle underneath (another twin). There is also a full sized couch downstairs. The property is on the NW corner of Pickerel Lake on its own private bay. It is between the town of Pickerel and Mole Lake. It is northeast of Antigo (25 miles) and South of Crandon (20 miles). NEW FOR 2018: We are replacing our pontoon boat with a BRAND NEW 2018 MODEL Montego Bay Fish and cruise pontoon boat with live-well and other extras for use during the 2018 boating season. The new boat is being built but is very similar to the blue boat pictured here - VERY SHARP looking boat. Our rental rates in 2018 are competitively priced at $1,200 to $2,300 per week during the boating season. For comparison, if you were to rent this pontoon boat alone, it would cost approx. $250 per day or around $1,400 per week (without a cottage included). Bundle and save money. For the 2018 boating season we have upgraded our pontoon boat with a brand new 2018 model pontoon boat with a 90 horse 4-stoke Mercury motor. This is a 22 foot boat with a live-well, fish finder, ski tow bar, 27 gallon fuel tank, bimini top and seating for up to 13 persons. In May of 2017 we installed a BRAND NEW ELECTRIC BOAT LIFT - just lower the boat with the key fob and head out onto the lake. Lots of room to fish off this boat or pull a tube behind (large tube included with your stay). Pickerel Lake is about 3.5 hours from Milwaukee and Madison. Cottage was Completely Rebuilt in 2014 and is right on Pickerel Lake within 20 feet from the water's edge. There is a great deal of privacy since we are tucked back over 200 feet away from the lightly traveled Pickerel Lake Road. Fire pit, propane grill and laundry onsite. Available year-round for fishing, boating and swimming in the summer and snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross-country skiing in the winter. We are on the ATV route and Snowmobile Trail. Swimming is available at the end of our dock. It is about 4 feet deep and is somewhat sandy there but also with muck and weeds nearby. We have a swim ladder at the end of the pier. Larger areas to swim are available on Pickerel Lake with a short boat ride. There are also some nice beaches located at nearby lakes. The cost for renting the pontoon boat is built into the price of your stay BETWEEN 5/1 AND APPROXIMATELY 10/20. Winter rates are much lower. The Pontoon boat rental is *mandatory during the "SPRING", "SUMMER" and "FALL" rental seasons and must be rented for all days that you are staying. *We may consider rental of the cottage without the pontoon boat (and discount the rate appropriately) in the following cases: 1. If you are renting in the spring of 2018 and your rental period does not include a Friday or Saturday night stay. 2. If you are making a reservation within 30 days of your check-in date. We are right on the ATV Trail Route! You can use the blacktop Pickerel Lake road (subject to a 25 mile per hour posted ATV speed limit) to connect to the off-road trails that start approximately 2.5 miles to the west. You can get to the Augustyn Spring trails from there (maybe two miles further-on off-road trails). This connects to the White Lake ATV Trails. You can venture further west and hook up with the Parrish Highlands ATV Trails. We are also right on the Snowmobile Trail!! Unload your sled and you are ready to venture across the state on your snowmobile. Cottage is equipped with two heat pumps (for air conditioning or heating) and a propane furnace for optimal comfort all year round.
The cottage comes with a new Pontoon boat, on-site laundry and sleeps up to 8 or 9 people. It is a nearly brand new building as it was completely rebuilt in 2014. Great views of the lake and good fishing right off the dock.
  • The cabin was exactly as advertised. It was a great place to stay while snowmobiling in the winter. It worked out perfectly for us.

  • Loved the seclusion and gorgeous lakefront and our own dock. The cabin was nice with plenty of sleeping spaces.

  • We loved this place! The provided row boat and kayaks were a huge plus for us. This place was an excellent size for the four of us. I think you could very comfortably have a few more, as well. We caught lots of little panfish in the weeds off of the fairly large dock. They were too little to keep, but it was great fun. We would definitely stay here again! We also appreciated Tiffany's recommendations for us, we visited several of them.

    Emily2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, nice and clean

    Tom2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Tiffany's cabin on Lake John. The house is lovely and cozy, with a well equipped kitchen, a beautiful view of the lake, and plenty of sleeping options. The beds were a little small for my 6'2" frame, so I switched to one of the bunk beds which was somehow a little longer. Although we didn't partake, there are kayaks, paddleboards, and a rowboat to use, and plenty of toys and games for all ages. The TV picked up antenna channels very clearly, and the lack of WiFi was not a problem for me. The lake itself is very nice, caught a bunch of little panfish, but no keepers. The firepit is right down by the water, and the wood provided was plenty for a few nights of fires. Be sure to pick up some water on your way in, the tap water is very metallic tasting. Check-in was hassle free, and Tiffany got back to me quickly when I had a question on our way out. For me, it was all you could hope for in a lake house, and we will be back.

Welcome to our cabins less than 10’ from the lake ! The beautiful new cabins (2019) replaced original fishing cabins that have been in the family since 1947. The only cabins on Wabikon & Riley Lakes. Kayak, boat, fish or walk the National Forest. Mountain bike gravel roads. See Piacenza’s on Wabikon’s 2 listings: UNO sleeps 2. DUE sleeps 4. *Proud of our cleanliness, we allow 48-72 hours between guests.*
Welcome! Two new cabins...with a history! Construction completed in 2019, built within the original 1920 cabin footprints less than 10 feet from shoreline! Family owned since 1947. Dream of staying in a brand-new handcrafted shoreline cabin? On an undeveloped, protected northern Wisconsin lake? Fish, kayak, boat on a lake where the only splash is a diving bird or fish jumping…not jet skiers or people jumping in the water? Toss wood on a bonfire, enjoy a beverage and pizza in a clean, up-north bar? Experience the comforts of today, while stepping back a few decades in time and into the history of our family and the Northwoods…then you’ve come to the right place! We worked with a local builder to carefully craft these cabins using only local cedar, oak, pine and stone. Our cabins sit less than 10’ from the Wabikon Lake shoreline. Furnished with new appliances, a fully stocked kitchen, new mattresses, living room furniture, carefully selected décor and handmade quilts. Private decks offer stunning sunrises, daytime relaxation and serene nights for contemplating moon phases and finding constellations under pure night skies without city lights. Wabikon & Riley Lakes offer a most desirable quality of this property; their shorelines are fully undeveloped, protected. The Chequamegon / Nicolet Forest and the Wabikon State Natural Area are your immediate neighbor offering endless exploration of water and forest. Directly to off the western shoreline is the Wabikon Forest Plot. This unique tract is one of only six in the world (!) being studied by the Smithsonian Institute for its natural growth. This global network of forest research plots is committed to the study of tropical and temperate forest function and diversity. THE SUNNY STUDIO CABIN - "UNO" sleeps 3. One room open design (except for shower and bathroom) contains a full-size kitchen (fully stocked) and living space within 480 square feet! You walk into the cabin noticing the openness and wall of windows overlooking the lake. In the center of the cabin is a large antique wooden (bar height) table with four chairs serving as your kitchen island and eating area. Directly in front of the large lake view windows sits a new West Elm/Pottery Barn Enzo sectional/QUEEN sleeper and one twin bed for day and evening use. The Enzo sectional pulls out to form a comfortable queen size bed. We've added a 2' memory foam mattress topper for extra comfort, complete with sheets, quilts and plenty of pillows. A large ceiling fan circulates the air. Walk out onto the private deck with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise, hear the birds and watch the boats go out from Johnnie's and the public landing. Outdoor steps lead to another (!) lakeside patio under the cabin. - perfect to watch storms come in over Wabikon. UNO is fully wheelchair accessible, even designed by a man in a wheelchair. Enjoy this new listing, built on a great story of family respect for history and natural resources. We rent two cabins. UNO (sleeps 3) and DUE' (sleeps 6) The cabins are 20-feet apart for privacy or can be rented together. There are TWO LISTINGS for these cabins to accommodate your ability to rent one or both. Parking for car and trailer near cabin. Public boat landing is less than ¼ mile from cabins. Docking available for one boat per cabin. Kayaks, boats ad motors are available next door at Johnnie’s Resort (contact me upon booking, for availability). Wi-fi extenders on each cabin, although you might want to simply unplug and reclaim your connection to water, forest and nature. A bit of history: This special piece of lakeshore is our family legacy, established in 1947 by our parents, John and June Aschenbrenner. Their lease included 9 tiny cabins, 5 outhouses, a bar and caretaker’s shack…a small generator, hand-pump well, and a couple gas lights. They closed after deer season and re-opened each May 1 which was “opening day” for fishing back then. Johnnie and I grew up on the lake and attended Laona schools. Until our parents’ deaths, Johnnie and Cheryl ran the business making vast improvements; recently we split the land so they could keep the business and we could rebuild two cabins for our family retreat. We carefully rebuilt the cabins in the footprint of 3 old cabins built in the 1920’s.
Far from the craziness of heightened tourism, we are nested in a quiet corner of northeastern Wisconsin. So come to relax, fish, and explore nature on lake and water. [Our two cabins are next to Johnnie’s which includes one cabin from the 1950’s, a small bar and a rental home. Together we are the only four buildings on the entire lake.] A large grocery store and gift shops are 5 miles away in Crandon. From your private cottage, you can explore the county's attractions, such as the Lumberjack Steam Train & Camp Five Museum in Laona, the Nicolet Golf Course, the Crandon International Off-Road Raceway, local, Forest County community holiday parades and events. The Crandon Ski Serpents perform water ski shows weekly. Sand beaches are available to you 5 miles to the east (Silver Lake Beach) or to the west (Lake Metonga Beach). You'll find mountain biking trails, birding and nature walks, scenic and rustic backroads and ATV/snowmobiling trails.
  • Susan’s cabin was so relaxing and quiet. We loved the beautiful snowy lake view and the thoughtful touches throughout the cabin. The decor is a simple theme yet elegant for this cozy cabin, and well maintained. Susan is very responsive to her guests needs and provided us with welcome treats along with a special hand written card that made this everything we needed plus more. It is a home away from home that we will return on future trips north to visit family nearby.

    Shelley2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Susan upgraded us to the larger suite because there were no other guests staying there that weeked! The view was amazing and there are plenty of supplies to keep one cozy and content. The amenities were fully modern while still maintaining the traditional cabin look, which was very nice. The cabin is not too far away from grocery stores so you can have a feeling of solidarity while being close to resources if needed.

  • Wonderful cabins in a beautiful, quiet, setting. Susan couldn't me more of a gracious host, and great thought goes into every aspect of her cabins.

    Brad2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish place with great view and many personal extra touches. The solitude of the lake and the many hikes in the beautiful national forest restored our souls

    Andrea2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed over a long weekend, and had an outstanding time! Susan is a gracious hostess! The decor of the cabin is colorful, thoughtful, and peaceful. The views of Wabikon Lake were perfect and the amenities and comfort of the cabin provided for a very easy, relaxing stay. She provided kayaks/life jackets for use, and there is a grill on the ground-level patio. The lake is a quiet fishing lake, not a swimming lake but enjoy the overall ease of the place, and soak in the tranquility. We look forward to staying here again! Thank you, Susan!

  • My trip to Gerald"s house started with a big commotion, a historic storm sweep through the county with lots of loud thunder noisy and 90 miles per hour wind . A big tree fall on the house with a loud noise, together there are over 30 trees fall down around and on the house. The host lives nearby came over right after the storm at night by foot and checked the house and found its strong and safe for us to stay the first night, only next morning we found out that's very wise, the county road lead to the house is blocked by over 10 big trees. Gerald and his sons and the neighbors start early morning the very next morning focus on clear the road blocks so we can have a safe way out. They make sure we have foods, water and all life necessities while they are working on the roads. With their hard work, the roais passable to the outer side in the middle of afternoon. They even offered money so we can stay in hotel of our choice for the remaining of the trip. I cannot be in better hand than this family. They are just wonderful peoples with big hearts. Thanks again, Gerald's and Troy's family and all the neighbors, we definitely will come back visiting again!

  • Thank you for opening your beautiful cabin to us.  The cabin allowed for 4 generations to spend time in comfortable, but spacious, living quarters (grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.)  The outside decks were nice and the bit of sand beach was great for grandson to play with his dump truck and front end loader.  It was certainly nice to have bikes, a rowboat, paddleboard, and kayaks available for our use.  The dock and boat lift allowed for our own boat to be kept on-site and the public boat dock was close and convenient.  As the fall weather turned much cooler quite fast, we appreciated the fireplaces inside (kept it warm and cozy on a cool, wet day) and the firepit and provided wood allowed us to stay warm and enjoy peaceful evenings when the wind generally calmed down.  We experienced the moon rise over the lake and the loons wishing us a good night off in the distance.  The cabin was clean and well equipped.  There was ample parking.  We would stay in this cabin again.     Sept 2019

  • This is our second snowmobiling trip up to Lakewood and we couldn't be more pleased once again. The house is super cute and can accommodate many people! The trails are not far from the house and really easy to get to with a short ride on the roads. The beds are a little harder but for the price you can't complain! Thank you again for having us, we look forward to coming back next year!

A spacious home that sleeps 10 right off the Nicolet Country Club golf course and lake front lot located on Silver Lake in Laona. Enjoy the fire pit or the tiki bar on property or one of the sand volleyball courts in the adjacent park area.
This home is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy everything that the up-north has to offer. The house sits just across Silver Lake Rd. from the lake and adjoins the Nicolet golf course in the back. Community beach areas located near lot offer sand volley ball courts and basketball. Put your boat in across the lake using the ramp and then tie up at your own dock. 3 bedroom 2 and 1/2 bath sleeps up to 10.
This quiet lake community is great to just relax, play a game of golf, volleyball, or walk down to the water off a sandy beach. You can also head into town for breakfast or in the evening for a beer. Snow mobile trails are just at the end of the street.
  • We had and awesome weekend here!

  • The water was great for swimming-clear and the sandy beach made for relaxing and fun. We enjoyed the canoe, dock and campfire. The home was very clean and comfortable- having enough beds and bathrooms to accomodate a larger family. The kitchen had all the amenities to cook at home. We also enjoyed the activities near by including the steam train and dinner at the local diner. Having the park with playground, b-bal court and etc. made the experience fun for all family members. We would love to visit again. Owner and caretaker were very responsive when needed and made us feel welcome.

Hello all! This cabin has been in our family for many years and has created so many wonderful memories for us over the years. We would love to share this special place and hope you can create some incredible memories of your own. The 14 acre riverfront property has lots of places to explore and is a wonderful getaway from the craziness of city life. The property is directly across from the Nicolet National forest and has direct access to the local snowmobile and ATV trails.
This is a fairly large home complete with full kitchen, large dining room, family room, living room, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, and basement. Lots of areas for family gatherings. The house is a mix of new and old and that is kind of how we like it. We have updated many areas of the home however some areas are just as grandma left them. Hopefully you can appreciate some of the nuances as well. It is a clean cozy home that we are sure you will enjoy.
There are so many activities here in the immediate area. Here are just a few: Hunting Fishing Hiking Golfing Snowmobiling Snowshoeing ATV Waterskiing Boating Wine tasting Fine dining Gambling
  • Fantastic property, all the cabin comforts! A perfect "up north" experience. (And I'm from the area originally so I'd know!)

    Jenny2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The home was great for our group of 10 adventurous women. Check out the waterfalls in Marinette County. Clean, well stocked with linens and kitchen had all the amenities promised.

  • We had a great stay here! It felt exactly like going to a family cabin. The weather during our stay was unexpectedly disappointing, so we spent a lot of time lounging and doing hobbies by the fireplace. It was so relaxing! The only frustrations I encountered as a wheelchair user are that the wide door widths and lower height bed were not completely usable for me. I share this not to complain (because I know that making any home accessible for a wheelchair is challenging!), but to help other travelers with wheelchairs make reservation choices. The bathroom with the wider door was not big enough for me to close the door once my chair was inside. There is a much longer bathroom with room for a power wheelchair, but that door opening is quite a bit narrower. My wheelchair is 24 inches wide, and I just squeezed through. My guess is that the usable opening was around 26 inches. Also, the lower height bed referenced in the listing is not in the master bedroom and does not have room to maneuver a wheelchair all the way around it. The master bed DOES have a ton of room around it, but that bed is quite high. The bedroom with the lower height bed has enough room on the side of the door for a power wheelchair but not around the bed. Also, the room with the lower bed requires a wheelchair to enter at a careful angle to get past a corner that juts into the room at the entrance. I was able to make the master bedroom work, but my husband had to help me a great deal to get into bed. Also of note is that the outer door with the keypad to enter the house is not accessible. It is at the top of a concrete step. The host ended up giving us a key for the accessible door that enters the house from the deck, but a wheelchair user on his/her own would not have been able to enter the house independently without that. Again, not complaining! Just wanting to help other travelers with wheelchairs make decisions! :)

    Natasha2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very cute inside, amazing huge windows, cozy carpet, retro style interior reminds me of my Grandma's house :) spacious enough for a family or group of friends. The river is just a short walk away with a cute bench to sit on. The fire tower is walking distance away with an awesome view of the whole area! Great with the leaves changing colors

    Jenny2019-09-29T00:00:00Z

  • Great stay at Sharons! The place was much more spacious than we expected and so clean. There were plenty of towels and paper products, nice clean linens and comfy beds. Sharon left some great local information that was super helpful since we had very little connectivity in our phones. We were within decent proximity to most of the local attractions and really enjoyed our stay!

Two small bedrooms with a full size bed in each and a usable closet in one, provide sleeping comfort. A full size futon in the living room makes sleeping space for a couple more. Six people is our max. Please don't try to squeeze in more. Our Cozy Cabin kitchen has standard size appliances, cook, bake and serving ware and basic spices for preparing delicious meals. This is an all season cabin with electric heat. We have no air conditioning; but if you keep the windows closed and blinds drawn during the heat of the summer day, the place stays pleasantly cool. The cabin is about 500 square feet. It is cozy; and although technically it can sleep six adults, those six people better like togetherness while they are inside! Realizing that not all groups of 6 want to sleep in 3 full size beds, we don't mind if you want to bring a tent in order to spread out a bit, as long as you don't exceed the total of 6 people at our property. Our water heater and septic system is not set up for large groups. The sweet space inside extends outside with a nice, big, outdoor deck and a fire pit with complimentary firewood. Many people ask if they can bring their well-behaved, quiet pet to our Cozies. We do not allow pets, well behaved or otherwise, inside our rentals. However, if you wish to bring a kennel or leash to keep your well-behaved, quiet, friendly pet outdoors, promise to clean up all waste immediately upon deposit, and repair any unexpected damage your pet might uncharacteristically create such as digging holes, scratching buildings/doors, tearing screens, chewing items not meant for his/her chewing....we don't mind their presence. A past guest, who brought his dog, also brought a canopy which he erected on the deck, under which he put a kennel. It worked great for providing shelter from rain and sun, not only for the dog, but also for his family while they enjoyed their time playing games at the picnic table! For those who find it unacceptable to keep their pet outside, other Airbnbs exist which have a different policy. Please patronize them instead.
Our Cozy Cabin feels remote; but we do have neighbors. We appreciate that you honor our request that this be a quiet retreat. Nature is the main draw; but there are a few little towns within 15-20 miles of our place. Visit Langlade and Oconto Counties' websites for great resources of things to do in our area. Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce, Red Arrow ATV and Snowmobile Club and Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club also have valuable information on their websites. While we encourage you to explore our acreage, it is REALLY important that you do not trespass on our neighbors' properties. Please talk to us before you explore so we can guide you in acceptable directions. A map of our property is in the Cozy Cabin. Our neighbors do have trail cameras in their woods. Your presence will be detected on their property. Every time a guest "accidentally" finds themselves on private property other than ours, our reputation, and that of Airbnb, is diminished. We'd like to keep hosting. Please don't anger our neighbors by not respecting their property boundaries. If you don't know, don't go!
  • This little cabin is the perfect place to relax in the beautiful north woods. The kitchen had all the basics for cooking and a huge deck to enjoy a meal outdoors. The trails around the house were covered in snow while we were there but with some snowshoes it's a beautiful way to start your day. Lisa was very quick to respond and had great tips for our trip.

  • The perfect place to be one with nature. The word “cozy” is really the perfect way to describe this cute location. They really went out of their way to add detail to the design making it more than just a place to rent, it was an experience. The owners are really good people who care very much about their property and the people who stay there. They really have it set up in a way you can fully enjoy the cabin as well as the outdoors. We will definitely try to come back some day.

  • Lisa was great! The house manual and all instructions were very helpful and let us know exactly what we were in for. There were enough activities to keep us busy for a few days right there on the property. There was a decent snow fall one night and Mike & Lisa came up to the cabin to clear all the snow out. I would highly recommend checking this place out in the winter!

  • The cozy was very comfortable, clean, and cozy. A very good place to go for a change in pace and scenery. 👍

  • Lisa and Mike were exceptionally kind, accommodating, and communicative hosts. First, the location: their cozy cabin was the perfect warm and wonderful place to escape from the bustle of the city. The beautiful and pristine Wisconsin Northwoods are worthy of feature on a postcard. Next, the hospitality: Lisa warned us well in advance of an approaching winter storm on the second night of our stay and warmly invited us to seek refuge at their home, by their warm wood stove, in case the power went out. Luckily, we slept warm and comfortably through the storm in the sweet cozy cabin. When we awoke to nearly 10 inches of unplowed snow on the day of our departure, again Lisa and Mike jumped to action to help us make it safely out of the woods. We had to dig our cars out of the snow more than once, and ended up waiting for county plow to make it to the wooded roads, but our hosts kindly and patiently accommodated all the while. Overall, our stay was comfortable and relaxing with a twist of excitement and an unforgettable adventure.

The Chequamegon/Nicolet Forest and the Wabikon State Natural Area are your immediate neighbor offering endless exploration of water and forest. Directly to off the western shoreline is the Wabikon Forest Plot. This unique tract is one of only six in the world (!) being studied by the Smithsonian Institute for its natural growth. This global network of forest research plots is committed to the study of tropical and temperate forest function and diversity. THIS TWO-BEDROOM CABIN - DUE' sleeps 6. DUE' offer walls of windows overlooking the lake, 2 private lakeside decks, fully stocked kitchen, huge kitchen island, full bath with showers, upholstered chairs, dining tables, and is beautifully furnished from our personal collection. Outdoor steps lead to the second lakeside patio, partially covered... perfect to watch storms come in over Wabikon. Bedrooms have dressers and clothes racks with hangers. Due’ is our larger cabin, spanning 864 square feet and perfect for 2-3 couples or a small family. The fully stocked kitchen is open to the sunny living space complete with a table for 6, large sofa, leather laz-z-boy recliner, rocker and collection of books and games. The wall of windows overlooks the lake and deck. A large ceiling fan maintains fresh air throughout the living space. One bedroom includes a queen bed, lakeside window, dresser, clothes rack with hangers, side tables with lamps, a large mirror and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom includes a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and a single on top , a separate single (twin) bed, road-side window, clothes rack, mirror, side tables, hanging restored lighting, as well as a ceiling fan. Enjoy this new listing, built on a great story of family respect for history and natural resources. As mentioned, we have two cabins for rent: UNO (smaller; sleeps 2) and DUE' (larger; sleeps 4). Each cabin has its own listing. The cabins are 20-feet apart for privacy or can be rented together. Sit on private decks overlooking the undeveloped, federally protected lakeshore. Parking for car and trailer near cabin. Public boat landing is less than ¼ mile from cabins. Docking available for one boat per cabin. Kayaks, boats ad motors are available next door at Johnnie’s Resort (contact me immediately upon booking, for availability). Wi-fi extenders on each cabin, although you might want to simply unplug and reclaim your connection to water, forest and nature. A bit of history: This special piece of lakeshore is our family legacy, established in 1947 by our parents, John and June Aschenbrenner. Their lease included 9 tiny cabins, 5 outhouses, a bar and caretaker’s shack…a small generator, hand-pump well, and a couple of gas lights.
Together we are the only four buildings on the entire lake. A large grocery store and gift shops are 5 miles away in Crandon.
  • This place is so remarkable that you want to request another stay before the adventures have even begun.

  • Wonderful place to stay - great views and location.

    David2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great place and very nice host. It feels better in the cabin than the pictures, which is almost always the opposite, but was a nice surprise. We plan to return in the future. View of lake from cabin is great. It's nice to have Johnnies next door as well.

    Robert2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautifully located and the interior is really cozy and well thought out. We spent three relaxing days there. Also, Susan is the nicest host you will ever come across.

    Birgitta2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • These are beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped cabins in a wonderful location, and Susan is a thoughtful, friendly and accessible host. Our family had an outstanding experience and will come again.

  • The place is even better than described. It's very cozy and very very clean. We had everything we needed to cook meals and relax. The location is perfect. The lake is beautiful in any weather. And there's so much to do that our stay wasn't enough to explore everything. We fished from the boat that we rented from Johnnie's Resort next door and from the shore. We kayaked, went to nearby lake, picked wild mushrooms, grilled at the patio downstairs and watched swans. Our family had a great time and Susan was always quick to respond whatever we needed. We hope to come back soon!!

The tranquility of the water and the zen atmosphere of the cabin will have you wanting to come back before you’ve even left! Susan is the epitome of a perfect host. Her pride and love for this generational establishment is clear! We will be back!!
