Places to stay in Vermont
The cabin is a great place to escape from it all! The custom made cedar hot tub is hot and ready all winter. Cold, snowy nights make for excellent tub time!! Inside the cabin is warm and has the comfort of home. Want to ski? Two ski resorts are 30 minutes from us.
Nestled in the hilled forest behind our home, the Vermont Tree Cabin (16' by 12', 190 sq ft) is a great, quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While lounging on the deck or hot tub, you will be able to enjoy the calm and serenity of the outdoors, but still have the comfort of home in our authentic cabin lodging. Built in 2004, the cabin was temporally used as a home for our family while we built our house. The cabin has been completely renovated with custom tile shower, rustic hickory floors, knotty pine walls/ceiling, a kitchen area including a sink, Induction Hot Plate, small refrigerator, microwave, waffle maker, coffee maker, HD TV, DVD player with small selection of movies, good cell service (ATT & Verizon), 500 gallon custom cedar hot tub, Wireless internet, gas grill, rock fire-pit, picnic table and a 250 sq. ft. deck that is built into and around oak trees. One of our greatest amenities of the cabin is the custom built, white cedar hot tub. Maintained at 100- 104F degrees, the hot tub is ready for your use all year round, 24 hours a day; all you need to do is slide the cover off, relax and enjoy. While relaxing in the tub, be sure to enjoy watching the flames of a fire from the fire pit right off the deck. Our other amenities and services are as follows: Bedding – One full size memory foam bed and one single cot that can be included upon request. Food – Coffee, tea, waffle mix (make your own), Vermont maple syrup. Parking – private driveway and parking area for cabin guests. The cabin is completely insulated and heated, so we invite you to enjoy it any time of the year. Maid service - We do not provide turn down service or housekeeping in the cabin during your visit, but will make adjustments upon request. As we are located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, the area offers many activities and events for your enjoyment. Our area is well known for some of our Ski Mountains and Resorts including Burke Mountain and Jay Peak. There are many other outdoor activities including boating and paddling, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. But don’t forget to check out some of Vermont’s well-known covered bridges, sugar houses, breweries, and farms as well. P.S. It’s great exercise walking from the parking area to the cabin. It’s only 150 feet away but a beautiful uphill stroll on a mix of well-lit paths and stairs.
Our property is private yet only minutes away from downtown. Saint Johnsbury is a typical small town that has a few shops, restaurants and stores. Most of our guests enjoy outdoor activities when they visit. Hiking and biking trails, ski mountains and lakes are all within 30 minutes of us.
  • We loved our peaceful getaway! The waffles, grill, patio, patio lights, and views into the woods were all highlights for us. It was the perfect few days away from it all. Very clean, and cute space. Our first night it snowed while we relaxed in the cedar jacuzzi - what luck! Thank you!

  • Perfect weekend getaway!! Very relaxing.

    Sandra2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew & Marilou's place was exactly as we expected. It was clean & cozy! The fire place & hot tub were perfect as they allowed us to be outside on a cold winter night. Please note, they do not provide firewood, so make sure to bring some (they did sell some at the hardware store). They did provide boozy waffles which were delicious & fun to make on a slow morning! We would definitely come back & we are hoping to check out their other tree house!

    Brittany2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a peaceful retreat in Andrew & Marilou's treecabin - clean, quiet, comfortable, and secluded - with the hot tub and the waffles, it was exactly what we needed :) Definitely recommend

    Akhil2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Marilou’s Tree Cabin was a great getaway where we were able to relax and unwind for a few days! Great touches like the hot tub and the delicious waffles made our stay exceptional. We really appreciated the care put into the cabin itself and the hospitality. It was great to see some snow this winter, we’d love to come back to experience Vermont in another season!

A special little retreat. 12 minutes to Smugglers Notch. 25 min to Stowe. Off grid. 222 square foot Cozy little log cabin, wood stove, composting toilet, on demand (small in size )hot water shower, solar electricity. Full kitchen with refrigerator. The cabin is private with parking . Everything about this special place is small but it's very homey and has everything you need . Verizon cellular works perfect with full 4g LTE.
Log cabin tiny house. Homey , Airbnb has made it so that guests can cancel at anytime. I would prefer a little notice if possible but I understand as well. I do hope that you come. The cabin is a good place for people to get away. My plan to keep the cabin a safe place for people and to ease peoples concerns is that I will be bleach wiping surfaces . I would prefer if Guests brought their own bedding and towels at this time. The beds are full and a single. Also I will have a min 48 hours between reservations. I hope this helps.
Awesome little ski town 12 minute drive to Amazing skiing at Smugglers Notch ski area. The cabin is just 4 miles to great restaurants, grocery story, galleries, canoe/kayak rentals, 30 mile bike trail, horseback trail rides, distilleries, and Wineries , day spa covered bridges and more. In the summer time is 23 minutes to Stowe over the historic mountain pass called Smugglers Notch. 50 minutes to Burlington. 32 minute to jay peak
  • Pk provides you with a unique, sustainable camping experience, while also giving you plenty of space to do your own thing, but he's always available for help! This is my second stay with him and it was a blast.

    Alexis2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • The little cabin was great! PK was a great host. With everything that is happening in our world he made extra effort to make us feel safe and comfortable. Would totally recommend staying!

    Marie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just what we were looking for. It was great to experience the off-grid type living in a tiny cabin! Pk was a great host and he was there to give us instructions about the cabin when we arrived. We had no problems and slept like logs with the running stream just behind us. Very private I would recommend to anyone looking for a similar experience!

    Kayla2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cabin. Came up for a weekend in the winter which was beautiful. It has a good location for accessing Mount Mansfield, Smuggler's Notch, and town is close for meals out. Pk was helpful at check-in with the details of the cabin and local spots to check out. It's a simple, beautiful cabin!

    Meghan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thankful for this small, simplistic , cabin!

*Stowe Charm at it’s Finest* This renovated studio features unique touches of reclaimed barn wood, cherry cabinets, maple floors, swiveling TV, barn door, plush bed, and private entrance with large porch. Located in the Historic Village, this property provides walking access to local eateries, shopping, and grocery. In addition, enjoy convenient access to mountain biking, skiing, hiking, & town events. Your Stowe Spot for years to come awaits!
We are a quick 7.5 miles form the mountain. As you turn out of our driveway, Mountain Road is on the left and you take that straight until you see the gondola! It usually takes people 10-15 min from here to get up to and park at Stowe Mountain depending on mountain traffic. We find it to be the best of both worlds, close to the mountain and only walking distance to town!
On Route 100, South Main St. in Stowe.
  • I really enjoyed this place. It was a great location and it was a perfect space to hang out! I will definitely go back when I can ski:)

    Christina2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really cool space close to all that Stowe has to offer. The place is spacious but also has cozy Vermont charm. Luke and Kelly are communicative and the whole check in/check out process is perfect. Highly recommend this spot

    Claire2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying at Luke’s place! It was very close to town and very modern and clean. They offered great insight and tips on things to do around town and enjoyed our easy check in process. Would definitely stay here again!

    Nicole2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Luke’s place was awesome. It was the perfect spot for a ski weekend. I 100% recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay in Stowe!

    Patrick2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for our first visit to Stowe! Will be back for a visit soon hopefully!

    Alex2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is just as charming as the photos! A great space for two people, and the kitchen was more than adequate with pots/pans/plates etc. It is very close to the road and there is a bit of noise, but traffic really slows down at nighttime and we didn’t have any issues sleeping. I would recommend Luke’s place to anyone who’s hoping to enjoy all Stowe has to offer!

    Brittany2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great Stowe spot! Enjoyed a full week skiing and exploring Stowe. Nice comfortable spot to come back to after a long day!

  • This is a fabulous place! We loved everything about it. EV is a fantastic host & the cottage is beautifully decorated & very clean. We saw 6 deer in the meadow one day and 11 wild turkeys strutted past the next! Highly recommend.

    Hannah2020-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay to get away for a few nights! The house was just as charming as it is in the pictures and E.V. was such an accommodating host.

    Mia2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage on a beautiful property - great for cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Very comfortable space and decorated with thought and care. Pictures depict the cottage and property accurately. EV and Travis and great hosts and easy to communicate with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Lois2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • E.V.'s home is the perfect Stowe escape. Close enough to town and the mountain, but away from the hustle and bustle. As a family with 3 boys we just loved our stay - there was everything we could have needed but the atmosphere, the stylish space and the outstanding hospitality of E.V made the stay truly a fantastic one. We will be back!

  • House was charming and the host was always available.

    Carol2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute cabin. Loved that you guys started fires for us multiple times. Great creative touches all around the house, from the homemade soaps to the book selections (Vermont and local stuff). Comfortable space. We will be back!

    Rob And Lauren2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • E.V. is AMAZING!!! Her place is a spotless cozy cottage that I fell in LOVE with when I stayed! This was my first experience with Airbnb and E.V. has set the bar VERY high. She left instructions that were simple and straight forward, she was ALWAYS reachable with any questions or concerns, and her cottage is so warm and welcoming that you feel right at home! She also provides a list of great places you can check out while in town. Don't hesitate on this booking - it is sooo worth it!

    Erin2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cabin. Everything was in top shape. Lots of hot water for showers and very clean. The wood stove kept the whole cabin including the upstairs nice and warm considering the temp was -4F the first night there. Strongly recommended for cross country skiing enthusiasts or just getting away from it all.

You will feel the stresses of life wash away as you sway in the trees and listen to the sounds of the beautiful stream just feet from the treehouse deck. You'll never want to leave! Enjoy a bit of solitude or some special alone time with a loved one. It's hard to beat Stone City Treehouse to make your time away special!
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear Guest, currently all Vermont lodging operators including Stone City Treehouse are NOT ALLOWED TO ACCEPT NEW RESERVATIONS until June 15th, due to the Governor's Executive Order. These are exceptional times, and we wish you and your loved ones to make it through this COVID-19 pandemic unscathed. We are really looking forward to welcome guests back to Stone City Treehouse! Stay happy and healthy! All the best, Heather After your day of hiking, skiing, or touring local breweries and distilleries, come home to this beautiful, private tiny house in the trees! Or, just spend the day lazily relaxing by the fire and reading, while the sound of the stream soothes you. Walk through the woods, up the stairs, and enter into another dimension - one that you won't want to leave! Much thought was put into the design and local, natural, and recycled materials were a priority in its construction. Enjoy the curated interior design while you relax in the living room space and gaze out the large, recycled windows (from an old, local schoolhouse). Enjoy the deck that overlooks the year-round stream (that may be frozen over in the winter) and let the sound of the water wash through you. You may even see some critters if you're still enough! There is a sweet sitting area, hammock, and campfire space just below the treehouse right on the stream, with a dramatic view of the treehouse. You can cook simple meals on the propane campstove (with a griddle option) or use the small charcoal grill in the space under the treehouse. There is a mini-fridge with a separate freezer to keep your fresh produce from the farmers' market and your yummy local beer nice and cool. There's a very primitive (and limited) water system you can use for washing dishes. There is a basic composting toilet in the treehouse for your convenience, but you also have access to a full, modern bathroom at the house, with a brand new, beautiful shower. When it's time for bed, climb up the loft ladder to "the nest" and sink into the brand new, comfy bed. Open up the windows to hear the nighttime sounds of the forest. We prioritize our earth and take environmental considerations into every decision: we have solar; we compost and recycle; we use environmentally friendly cleaning products; we avoid disposable items as much as possible; and we used much local and recycled materials in the construction of the treehouse. The interior structure is 10'x16' with a loft and the deck is 16'x4'.
Hardwick village is three miles away, and it's a lovely, small village with everything you'd need. The treehouse is located in the woods, by a year-round stream. It is three miles from Hardwick Village, located on 20 acres of woods, primarily maple trees and has a lovely year-round stream that flows by the house. Nearby there is plenty to do! Restaurants include: - Village Restaurant - great food, lots of local stuff, try the Jasper Hill Cheese Eggs Benedict! - Positive Pie - great pizza and beer selection. My kids love the garlic knots! Say hi to Butch, the bartender - he's an old friend! - Buffalo Mountain Co-op Cafe - lots of great options for breakfast and lunch! Focusing on local foods, and the store downstairs has everything you need. Lots of great people to meet here, too :) - The Scale House - an amazing new restaurant in town, focusing on fresh seafood from Mass, but also lots of local goodness! - House of Pizza - great pizza at a great price! This is where I always get my takeout pizza, but they do have more than just pizza. - A great new coffee shop called Front Seat Coffee! There's also the local Chinese restaurant, Yummy Wok, and Connie's Kitchen, a local bakery. Other food and beverage- related options abound in the area! - Caledonia Spirits / Barr Hill - I'm a bit bias toward this crew - I've worked for them part-time for years. But, hands-down, the best gin in the world! They had been based in Hardwick but now have a new, amazing distillery in Montpelier. If you like gin, or if you don't like gin, check it out! There's also a lovely vodka made from honey, and a unique barrel-aged gin, called Tom Cat. They've also been working hard on a whiskey that I know will be a big hit! - Hill Farmstead Brewery - voted the best beer in the world for multiple years, this is a Mecca for beer-lovers! Only 20 minutes away, it is definitely worth the trip! - Pete's Greens Farmstand - open seasonally, this is the site of the farm of one of, if not the, biggest vegetable farm in Vermont! Found in Craftsbury, also worth the 20 or so minute drive. - Hardwick Farmers' Market - also a seasonal gem, it's located at Atkins Field at 100 Granite St. in Hardwick lots of great local goodies, from veggies and cheese to plants and crafts, and everything in between! Runs Fridays from 3-6pm, June through September. - Jasper Hill Cheese - they don't have a visitors area and you can't visit the site, but you drive by them on your way to Hill Farmstead and can see the beautiful, painted barn. Amazing, internationally acclaimed cheeses - you can find at Willey's Store in Greensboro or the Buffalo Mountain Co-op in Hardwick. - Willey's Store - Located in Greensboro, you will find literally anything you need here! They have local food and beverages, regular groceries, hardware, housewares, clothing and shoes. This is a sight in itself! - Maple Syrup - Cabot Cheese - Vermont Food Venture Center Outdoor Activities (See Guidebook for more) - Local hiking - Nichols Ledge, Barr Hill, Hardwick Trails... - Local swimming - Nichols Pond, Caspian Lake - Canoeing and Kayaking - Nichols Pond, Caspian Lake, Hardwick Lake - Downhill Skiing - Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, Jay Peak, Burke Mountain are the closest, all about an hour away. - Cross Country Skiing - Highland Lodge, Craftsbury Outdoor Center - Mountain Biking - Kingdom Trails in Burke are world-renowned. You can also rent bikes, including fat tire bikes for snow, at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Entertainment - Highland Center for the Arts - Bread and Puppet - Vermont Vaudeville - Craftsbury Chamber Players - Museum of Everyday Life

  • This little treehouse is so charming and cozy. It’s so nice and warm, and everything you could need is right in the treehouse. Also the porch and lights add such a nice touch. It was so very clean and no bugs even though it’s in the woods. The little creek is also so nice to hear when you wake up in the morning

    Kylie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was a great host! Her communication was perfect! All her instructions were very detailed and easy to follow. The tree house is such a cool space! She had the lights on and fireplace going when we arrived so it was cozy and warm when we arrived. We didn’t get to enjoy the porch too Much as it was rainy but we could hear the brook flowing from inside. We’d love to come back when it’s warmer and everything is green! We had an awesome little getaway.

**THIS AIRBNB IS CLEANED FOLLOWING THE COVID-19 CLEANING PROTOCOL** This light and bright apartment is located on the second floor of a large home. You will be just two blocks from Church street, a number of downtown venues, and a 10 minute walk to the lake. This an ideal space to stay if you want to explore everything the city of Burlington has to offer without needing to drive anywhere! -Please note that the apartment is up a flight of slightly steep outdoor stairs.
This is a one bedroom apartment with all of the amenities you would expect from your own living space. The apartment has an open floor plan with a sitting area for reading and hanging out, and a dining table for meals or to work at. The sofa folds out into a bed (larger than a twin but smaller than a full: perfect for 1 extra person, two smaller people, or kids). The kitchen comes equipped with a fridge, a gas stove, and there are plenty of utensils and cookware to prepare food in the apartment if you choose to stay in. Coffee and tea will alway be provided for you. The bedroom is light and cozy with a glass door that leads out to a small seasonal balcony. The mattress is a pillow top queen mattress that will be set up with cotton sheets and a plush comforter. The television is a 40inch flat screen smart T.V. and is located in the bedroom so that you can lounge and watch your shows in bed (like a hotel room!). The bathroom has a stall shower and hardwood floors.
  • Went up for a week and had an amazing stay. The location is perfect, the apartment itself was beautiful and sparkling clean, and our communication with the host was always rapid and positive.

  • Great location (we walked almost everywhere), easy check-in, clean apartment. Thanks so much, Kathleen!

    Kara Chu2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen's place is a cozy spot just about a block away from the fantastic restaurants and shops on Church street. Very clean, cute, and well kept. I enjoyed my stay! My only issues were that the walls are thin, and you can hear the neighbors do just about everything and the shower is very small. Despite my best efforts, I got water all over the floor. Overall, these were minor issues, and I would definitely here stay again.

    Josselyn2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The space was perfect. It was cozy and quaint, but never felt cramped. The perfect space for a few people looking to get some rest while exploring a beautiful city. I appreciated Kathleen’s clear directions and all of the local suggestions on the chalkboard hanging in the apartment! The only thing that might pose a problem for some are the stairs to get into the apartment, as they’re a bit steep and narrow, but it didn’t bother us. The apartment was very clean and tidy. I would 100% stay here again!

    Shannon2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice, low frills place to stay within walking distance of Church Street. Just what we were looking for!

    Lilly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen’s place was cozy and comfortable. After a great dinner downtown we enjoyed a night in watching a movie. Bed was comfortable, and has all the amenities you need for a place to stay.

    Chamisa2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen’s place is adorable and cozy! The location is perfect- you can walk to church street and UVM’s campus- would definitely recommend!

This log cabin is set in the woods in a rural part of northeastern Vermont. Escape the hustle and bustle, clear your mind, and enjoy nature. A great place to get some fresh air or to stay in and take a nap. Beautiful summers for easy hikes and refreshing swims in the lakes of our local Groton State Forest, unbelievable foliage to view from small dirt roads, and tons of outdoor winter activities. Great for a couples getaway, friends weekend, or some quality time with the kids. Pets welcome, too!
First off, we (your hosts) like to try to give potential guests an idea of the region of Vermont in which we are located. It's important to emphasize how rural this region is - it's different from other parts of Vermont. We are located in the northeastern part of the state. We are on the opposite side of the state from Burlington and Lake Champlain, and we are east of all of the Central Vermont Ski areas. This area does not have a lot of tourism (relative to the other parts of the state) and in turn has a much smaller, more humble economy than the busier parts of the state. We have a lot of old farmland and meandering dirt roads. The town of Groton, where we are located, has a general store (about a 3 minute drive away from the cabin) and is home to Groton State Forest (about a 10 minute drive from the cabin). But besides that, most everything else (restaurants, bars, shops, ski resorts) is at least a 30-45 minute drive. We don't have a lot of the amenities or well-established outdoor adventure venues that the larger towns like Stowe, VT, Woodstock, VT, or Burlington, VT can offer. Our little of slice of Vermont is truly a place to get away from the more modern world and slow down. I think the best things to do in our immediate area and at the cabin are: star-gazing, napping in the hammock, sitting by the fire pit and roasting marshmallows, snow-shoeing through the backwoods around the cabin, and taking a kayak out on one of the very peaceful lakes in Groton State Forest. With that said, if you are willing to take a drive there are tons of things to do (and remember this is easy driving! very few stop lights and NEVER any traffic). We are right in between the Green Mountains and the White Mountains (about an hour from White Mountain State Park and an hour from Camel's Hump, Mt. Mansfield etc). We are 1 hour and 30 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain. A right turn out of the driveway and there are miles and miles of beautiful back roads that glow with reds, oranges and yellows during fall foliage. On a typical drive you will see old farm houses, country general stores with local goods, apples, syrup, and more. There are amazing breweries in all directions, some hidden in the coolest and smallest nooks of our beautiful Vermont hills. In the winter, you will be 45 minutes from the smaller ski mountains Burke Mountain and Bolton Valley, and 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes from bigger ski resorts in all directions (Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay Peak, Loon Mountain, Bretton Woods, Sunapee, and more!). If back woods cross country skiing or snowshoeing is more your speed, there are picturesque old farm fields and backwoods trails within a 20 to 30 minute drive. If your not sure which direction to head in but know you are looking for an outdoor adventure, we will always be more than happy to offer advice, suggestions, and directions to personalize your experience and get you off the beaten path. As for the log cabin itself: it is located on a dirt road in the woods on the outskirts of Groton. Your hosts live in the house about a one or two minute walk up the hill from the log cabin. The two houses are separated by woods, so besides the shared driveway that passes in front of the cabin, the cabin has complete privacy. This is a modern cabin in almost every way. It has electricity, great insulation, central heat (in addition to an effective wood stove), microwave, full gas stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, a full bathroom, a washer and dryer, a land-line telephone, and wifi. But we want to stress that this is a place to disconnect. Literally. You might get one bar of cell phone service. The cabin does not have TV or computers. Remember, if all you need is a place to rest and relax - this is your place. It's a great place to do nothing at all. You won't hear a thing at night and only a logging truck or two during the day. You can go outside on clear nights and see a sky full of stars. It's a great place to write, do yoga, nap, cuddle, sit around for hours and talk with your loved ones, or just be :)
You are in the middle of the woods. The road that the property is located on is a dirt road that is great for walks at all times of the year, night or day. There are houses every half a mile or so interspersed with woods and old farm land.
  • A very cozy and great place to stay! Had an amazing time and enjoyed the weekend!

    Hailey2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very clean, and had everything I needed for a weeks stay. Very friendly host, and the dog friendly space was well worth it.

    Chris2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s cabin (Suzy) had all of the amenities we could need — a kitchen with the necessities+, a warm fireplace, a beautiful loft bedroom, and plenty of outdoor space to wander. Emily was very communicative, providing tailored, clear directions to the cabin. We had a lovely trip!!

    Chelsea2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. So clean and it's so cozy. I recommend it

    Christopher2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and her parents are exceptional hosts - friendly, approachable, communicative, and responsive. Their listing is an ideal getaway for someone looking for a getaway - the scenery is beautiful, the cabin is cozy, and there are so many interesting books and puzzles to enjoy! This trip marks the fourth time we have stayed at Emily’s cabin. Not only do we keep coming back, we are already thinking about our next trip!

    Victoria2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four loves this cabin for our winter retreat. It is so clean, a beautiful location, hosts are very responsive, and it has everything you need to cozy up and have a great time with your loved ones.

    Carrie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place Friendly hosts Wonderful place to unwind

    Maryellen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Emily’s cabin is the perfect Vermont get away! The cabin is located about 20 minutes west of the closest town (grocery shopping, liquor store, ATM, etc), but there are many small restaurants and cafes to discover nearby if you take the advice of your host. This time we checked out the Peacham Cafe which is a beautiful 15 minute drive north of the cabin. The majority of my time was spent by the fire watching my fiancé and dogs play in the snow! This was our third time staying at the cabin and we now know that it is a great place to stay any time of year! Thank you, Emily!

  • We loved our stay! It was so peaceful and a perfect getaway.

    Jake2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Truly beautiful, cozy loft apartment. Breathtaking windows looking out to the mountains. Christine and John have a lovely home and were very accommodating. Their directions from the town center are clear - there are dirt roads. In general, we do not recommend driving from 89 up through the Green Mountain National Forest, at night, in the winter, like we did (live and learn and we made it out completely fine!). AWD/4WD vehicle is recommended. The space is incredible! Very well designed, couches to curl up on, and a great selection of tea. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful and the heated floors were a nice touch. We were very comfortable during our quick respite in the mountains. I could not get enough of that view and my boyfriend loved the sunshine in the morning. Loved talking with John and saying hello to their sweet dog Nellie. We want to stay here again in the summer to explore all that the Green Mountains have to offer!! Highly recommend Bobcat Café and the Recycled Reading of Vermont shop (books, art supplies, musical instruments, and more!). Middlebury is also fun to walk through - we enjoyed the Vermont’s Own Products shop there! Overall a real gem. We couldn’t believe our luck in finding this rental and we heartily recommend it.

    Brynn2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous barn with high end amenities. Be warned if you are booking in the winter, it's about a 40-50 minute drive to Sugarbush Resort, as the Lincoln Gap Road is closed in the winters. Very secluded and private.

    Jordan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Christine is a straightforward host with only a few simple rules. The space is tucked away in a beautiful location. Plenty of room to hang out and get your rest. We had a great stay and will certainly look to book with her again.

    Kara2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing gem tucked away in rural VT. I stayed at the end of a warm spell and the beginning of an arctic blast. 10+/- Inches of snow and wet ground that froze underneath. Come with AWD if you are visiting in winter. Christine pointed out the best hikes and snowshoeing opportunities, the latter of which I commenced from out the front door and on snowshoes provided by Christine. Highly and unreservedly recommend it. Hope to return in summer and again in winter!

    Marcus2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend! Great location and comfortable place.

    Shaqed2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Christine was incredibly welcoming and the space was simply amazing. The view from the spacious and beautiful room was absolutely breathtaking. It was like waking up in an enchanted forest each morning with views of snow falling over Mt Abraham. With the lovely town of Bristol only 15 minutes away (we loved the Bristol Cliffs Cafe) where you can find everything you need to enjoy a romantic dinner back at the Barn. We would both love to return for another visit. Thank you Christine!!

    Emily2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

This spacious studio apartment is located in the former Swedish Congregational Church in historic Swedeville, a secluded hilly neighborhood built by Swedish immigrants in the 1800's. For years it housed Rick and Liza’s stained glass studio, which they have now lovingly and creatively transformed into a residence. The rental is minutes from the interstate and one mile from downtown Brattleboro, but the neighborhood has a rural and somewhat European flavor to it.
This 20x20 rental has ten foot high pressed tin ceilings, arched windows, stained glass, a comfortable queen sized bed as well as a twin sized day bed which converts to a king sized bed. The space offers a private subway-tiled bathroom with shower. The kitchenette is equipped with a small fridge, induction hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, french press coffee maker, coffee grinder, tea pot, dishes and utensils. We will provide the fixings for coffee and tea for your use. We have a lovely vegetable and flower garden. You can expect to be greeted by roses or peonies or morning glories depending on the season. The October foliage is outstanding in this area and this neighborhood has some strikingly brilliant trees. During the winter when it snows, the neighborhood looks wonderful coated in sparkling white! Please note that there is a long term rental apartment above this space. You may on occasion hear footsteps on the stairs above. We soundproofed the space a year ago so any sound is minimal.
Brattleboro has regularly been recognized as one of the best small towns and best art towns in the USA. It is home to galleries and thrift stores, to a great farmers' market and a monthly gallery walk, to a wonderful youth theatre, a jazz center, and a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Swedeville is a couple of blocks from nature trails for hiking or cross country skiing depending on season. There are many areas for swimming and hiking nearby as well. We are 10 minutes from the Marlboro Music Festival and less than an hour away from Mount Snow and only a bit further from other downhill ski areas.
  • this cute little renovated church was such an amazing find! the space was colorful, cozy and very welcoming. we had a lovely stay & will definitely be back in the future :)

  • This was the perfect place for a creative retreat! Liza’s place is beautiful with so many thoughtful details- art, local recommendations, even a box of my favorite tea! Liza and Rick were gracious hosts -quick to answer any of my questions! I loved waking up to views of the garden and forest. With its location in walking distance of downtown and hiking trails, I could not have asked for anything more. I will definitely be back!

The Hyggelig Hytte is a one of a kind Nordic inspired cabin and sauna located in the heart of the Green Mountains. 30 mins north of Montpelier deep in the woods. Glamping and leaf peeping fun! Rustic romanic, hobo hideaway, bohemian hermitage, nordic nook.
Inspired by my trip to the Faroe Islands in 2013 and my love of the Viking Age, this is your perfect one of a kind rustic glamping experience. This small 144 sq foot Nordic inspired cabin is located ~50 yards behind my house on 11 acres of mixed hardwood and evergreens. You will have your own driveway, garden, fridge and cookstove. I provide coffee and tea as well as light breakfast foods: yogurt, granola, oatmeal and fresh eggs when I have them. There are dishes, pots and pans in the cabin. There is a small electric heater for the winter months which gets it plenty cozy. Your driveway is unmarked and steep, it is located on the same side of the street as my home (1743) to the north (please follow the signs and do not use my neighbors driveways). If you cannot make it up, just park in mine and walk back. You will need snow tires in the winter! Sleeps 2 adults on a queen size futon and there is a loft for a toddler or young child. Here you can enjoy hiking around the woods, picking blackberries and relaxing in Vermont's pristine beauty. Situated 30 min north of Montpelier. Peaceful, rustic simplicity. Enjoy a fire in your own fire pit and take in the stars! No light pollution. Wild turkeys, bats, hawks, deer, and even black bears are seen in these woods. Great for couples, writers or backpackers. *****Wifi is dubious and cell service is a hit or miss. If you have Verizon, you will have much better luck than At&T or Tmobile.**** No indoor plumbing, but a 5 gallon water jug for washing hands/dishes/face etc. There is an outhouse behind the cabin. Showers, laundry and can happen in the main house. Fire pit and barbecue available for use. I provide wood, but you should bring your own kindling. Gorgeous woods to hike or snowshoe through. I have one pair for you to borrow. I enjoy meeting new people, but do not need to socialize with you. I understand that people come to get away and I want to honor your privacy. I will let you know my availability if you need help or recommendations for places to visit etc. Depending on the season, you may see me in the backyard. East Calais is a small town with one gas station/general store a 7 min drive from the cabin, but otherwise, you are out in the woods on dirt roads. We are a 30 min drive from Montpelier, and a 1 hour drive from Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush ski resorts. The village of Plainfield is a 15 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. There is no public transport in this part of Vermont. You will need snow tires in the winter and AWD preferably as the cabin is located on dirt roads (thought they are well maintained), but in the summer and fall this is not necessary.
East Calais has one general store a 7 minute drive from the cabin. Otherwise, the village of Plainfield is a 20 minute drive away and has restaurants, bars and some shops etc. Montpelier is a 30 minute drive south and Hardwick is a 20 minute drive north. All these towns have night life.
  • A wonderful place to get away, but still be down the road from the town center and nearby other people!

  • Amazing place will recommend to friends! Selené was so nice and friendly

    Jules2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Selene's place was great, just the perfect type of quiet get-a-way we were looking for. The cabin is close to the house but far enough away to have privacy. Looks small but feels bigger once inside. Selene was very accommodating to anything we needed. I would definitely come back in the summer or fall.

    Travis2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Surprised my gf with a weekend getaway to this super cozy cabin and we both loved it. We stayed plenty warm and enjoyed the sauna, though if you go in the winter be prepared to walk in heavy snow.

    Alex2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! Incredibly cozy, with great opportunities for enjoying the outdoors as well as the sauna and firepit.

    Catherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was awesome! The driveway in the winter time is a perfect slope for sledding! definitely recommend checking in soon.

    Justin2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy lodge, it was the perfect getaway from technology that we needed! Selené was a great host.

    Kyra2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a surprise birthday trip for my S.O. and we were both blown away at the stay here. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a fun-filled adventure in the surrounding mountains and towns. It is 20-30 mins away from Montpelier, which is a great city with many options for food, drinks, and shopping. We loved every second of this trip and the sauna was a welcome addition, especially right after a long cold winter hike.

Come savor a secluded escape in the green mountains. Park your car and enjoy a short hike up to your private mountainside retreat. This cozy cabin in the forest is the perfect spot to relax, slow down, and unwind. For adventure seekers, it is the ideal home base. Well maintained hiking trails surround the area. We are minutes from the Long Trail, renowned rock climbing, beautiful swimming holes, kayaking, fishing, golfing, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding.
Our off the grid tiny house features a (seasonal) solar heated outdoor shower, outhouse, (seasonal) non-potable running water in the kitchen, a propane cook stove, and a wood stove to keep you warm on chilly nights. The wood stove is the only source of heat inside the cabin, so working knowledge of fire-starting is a must! We do not have refrigeration, but provide a cooler for use during your stay. In the cabin you will find plates, cups, bowls, utensils, simple cooking tools, a kettle, a saucepan, a frying pan, a roasting pan, a coffee grinder, a french press, a mixing bowl and a strainer. We also provide bedding and towels.
Hike Libby's Look, explore Preston Pond, or find a secluded swimming hole without getting in your car. Play a round at the West Bolton Golf Club just around the corner. We are just a short drive away from the Waterbury Reservoir, a perfect spot for kayaking and fishing. We are also close to the town of Richmond where you can stock up on supplies or grab a bite to eat. We are 30 minutes away from Burlington, and close to many other area attractions. We are centrally located in a great spot for skiing and snowboarding! We are less than an hour from 4 mountains. Specifically, we are 12 miles from Bolton Valley Resort, 27 miles from Smugglers Notch Resort, 29 miles from Sugarbush Resort, and 33 miles from Stowe Mountain Resort.
  • Cute place!

    Meg2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Laura's off the grid cabin. My husband, pup, and I loved our second stay just as much as our first, maybe more. We can never decide which spot in the house is our favorite! Hope to visit again soon.

    Stephanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Laura for sharing your beautiful space! We went in mid/late February with approx 1.5ft of snow on the ground. If you're visiting during the snow season and have a lot of gear, bring a sled along with you if you can. Your legs with thank you later. The hike up to the cabin is only about 10 minutes, but if you've got to make a few trips, loading your gear onto a sled may help the uphill trek in the snow. Once you're up there and settled in, it sure is magical! Unlike another review, we had no trouble heating up the sleeping loft. Outside lows during the night was in high teens, but you can definitely get that little wood stove cranking. After about an hour, the heat certainly makes its way up there and it was plenty comfortable. Hope to be back later this year to see what summer or fall has to offer. Would recommend this stay, especially if you are looking to unplug for a little while.

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I have been going to Laura’s beautiful cabin for 3 years now. We got engaged there last year! The cabin is the perfect retreat for those looking to go off the grid. Laura has started the wood stove prior to our arrival each year. The cabin is always warm and cozy when we arrive. We can’t wait for our next visit!

    Janelle2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place as described! We picked a very cold weekend and were a bit chilly overnight. But the bed was comfy and we had a fun time heading into Burlington and Stowe!

  • We loved Barry & Jenny’s place! 10/10 would highly recommend. 10/10 would stay here again.

    Alyssa2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really appreciated the extra touches here that Jenny and Barry provided. This included compost, recycling, solar electric, and bath products that were environmentally-friendly, cruelty-free, and fair-trade. We loved all the natural light in the space, waking up to the sounds of chickens, and that we never ran out of hot water! Barry went out of his way to draw my husband a map of where was a good location to run which was really nice if him. We would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking in the area. It’s rural, but close access to a grocery and the public house which was delicious!

    Maggie2020-03-17T00:00:00Z

  • A great stay with fantastic hosts. The barn is a fantastic place to stay and change things compared to our usual hotel stays. Everything was clean and the amenities were fantastic. Since we are not of the area we asked to know if there was a particular place they could recommend to eat and Barry recommended us to the Public house. Great restaurant and great recommendation from our host. The whole experience is to be repeated for sure.

    Jonathan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This barn is everything it’s advertised to be! My friends and I drove up from Massachusetts for a concert and only stayed in the barn for one night but we wished we could’ve stayed longer!

    Rachel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a beautiful peaceful place to stay

    Jennifer2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The entire place smelled amazing, like cedar we think, and everything was incredibly clean! The linens were super soft, the bed and sofa were comfortable enough, and we had everything we needed! The only thing that would have been helpful for us was a slightly larger mini fridge, but all of the decor and furniture worked together so well, we couldn’t even be disappointed! A perfect place to hide away for a while!

  • Andrea's place is cozy, clean, and a perfect retreat from it all! It is also close to everything the area has to offer. We love staying here!

  • Cozy and spacious apartment for two of us! We loved the in-floor heating and gentle dog who came to say hi to us at our door. The town of Putney is very cute with Brattleboro just down the road!

  • A great find for a weekend away!

    Hannah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place had everything one would need while away (except a microwave). It was very quiet and peaceful but occasionally could hear footsteps from upstairs. Andrea quickly replied whenever I texted and yet was patient when I took time to reply due to being away from my phone. The place is as described and would recommend it for any types of getaway including romantic ones. It was one for me and newly hubby.

    Hansarah2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s apartment was perfect for our weekend away. The kitchen was great for making breakfast in the morning and the walk down to the river was a great way to start the day.

    Erin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very comfortable, clean, and modern. The walk down behind the house to the stream was quite beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and Andrea, the host, was a sweetheart.

  • Our first Airbnb and the apartment location was peaceful. Sweet, roomy, comfy and cozy all in one. Our last day met owner and sweet daughter and Milo. I would definitely stay here and recommend this Airbnb to family and friends who plan to visit Vermont.

Our treehouse is a peaceful and serene location perfect for a relaxing getaway. Ideally located in the Green Mountain National Forest, the treehouse is perched just uphill from our beaver pond, you will experience a unique opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the Green Mountains. Being located between Killington and Sugarbush you will have plenty to do. Between the cozy bed and in-house massage therapist you probably won’t want to leave anyway. Make sure to check out our other treehouse!
From the treehouse platform you can sit, relax and watch the beavers in their pond below or just cozy up inside the treehouse or go be adventurous in the forest.
Our neighbors include the Green Mountain National Forest and the river! But we do have local places and fun things to do from hiking trails to skiing at Killington and Sugarbush resorts, fishing and hunting in the local areas, art and food in nearby Rochester, and breweries in Middlebury!
  • We had a wonderful time at the treehouse! I even had the pleasure of getting a massage with Jammie which was very much needed. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back!

    Katherine2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly as described! There’s 0 service (was VERY welcomed), constant babbling from a stream with mini waterfalls, and apart from the hosts picking us up and helping bring our things to the treehouse, we didn’t see a single person 🙂 this was a great getaway! The property itself was great to explore, and there are so many beautiful places to explore nearby. We definitely plan on returning!

    Kate2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Derek’s place is such a great find. The treehouse itself is well built and is located in the middle of their gorgeous property with a stream running underneath. Everything was very clean, and they even provided board games, cookies, and the bed was super comfy! Derek met us when we arrived to get us set up and made sure we had everything we needed. The heater provided more than enough heat and the outhouse was very clean. We would love to come back in the summer or stay at one of the other treehouses!

    Elaine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I love adventuring and this was definitely a good one. The treehouse was as described: small, cute, cozy and warm. We thought the bed was really comfortable with plenty of blankets to keep us warm (not like we needed that many as there is a propane heater we were able adjust as needed). Derek is really easy to communicate with and was very hospitable. He knew I wanted to make a small fire in the fire-pit and brought us a hatchet, wood and pizza box! Small touches made a huge difference. And there were cookies to greet us. Overall, if you're looking for nice getaway with a cool experience, feel easy about booking here. Hour and 15 minute drive to Burlington, 30 minutes to Middlebury. Have fun!

    Shaheen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal cabin to disconnect from a weekend! Derek is listening to us and always there for our needs. They even let us take a shower at his place. I will come back in the summer to see all the flora and fauna it hides under the snow.

    Lucas2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fun adventure, unplugged and in the trees!

    Colleen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Dereks treehouse was great, Derek met us upon arrival and showed us all the details and answered any questions we had. It was very clean, and close to great food and areas for activities. We will surely be back to stay again.

    Tyler2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem and being amongst the trees like this is a real treat. Hosts are exceptional and really care about the trees and their land, Derek’s craftsmanship really shows and Jammie is exceptionally talented if you are lucky enough to be able to book a massage with her. My January stay at the Beaver Treehouse was chilly outside but warm and cozy inside. Winter stays definitely require a spirit of adventure, and be prepared to be confined to the indoors where the only furniture is a large bed but the books on trees and wilderness and games are a great way to pass the time! And the outhouse view is exceptional!

Welcome to the Tiny Art House! With a covered porch nearly as big as the house itself, there's plenty of room and a pleasing view of white pines and field grasses. It has a sleeping loft with a queen-sized bed and 2 extra twin mattresses. We offer one free one-time spa pass for quests book at least 2 nights (hot tub, salt water pool, gym, sauna, steam room and shower). Additional passes are $15 and do not have to be purchased ahead of time. Please read the full description of the space.
The Tiny Art House has a composting toilet, gas stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster, and simple cooking supplies. Spring water for drinking and light clean up is provided but there is no hot or running water (you can heat water on the gas stove). Tiny Art House is a ten-minute walk from the West River where you can walk or bike the 8 miles of trail along the river. You can take the 45 minute walk on the trail or drive 10 minutes to downtown Brattleboro where you'll find eateries, breweries, a movie theater, bowling, art museum and galleries, local shopping, book stores, hiking trails, and tubing and canoe/kayak rentals. There are also some great swimming spots on the West River.
The Tiny Art House is located two miles from the exit 3 rotary on route I-91. Most of the two miles are dirt roads. There are six other homes on our dead end road (Fox Farm) with lots of fields and woods in between.
  • Had an amazing time here! Ending up going by myself and it was a perfect peaceful retreat to relax, read, and keep things simple. The downtown area is close and has a lot of nice stores and restaurants. Honestly, wasn’t sure how the toilet worked but I managed and the bed was so comfortable!

    Lauren2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay! Three people and a dog stayed comfortably. Secluded in nature but close to conveniences.

    Jess2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night at Chuck’s place. Everything was clean, cozy, and easy going, and felt totally comfortable and private despite being on a property so near other homes.

    Amy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fun space. The bed was comfortable and the house was delightfully warm. The stars were gorgeous from the porch.

    Michael2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely getaway for a weekend or more! We enjoyed being close to nature along West River and downtown Brattleboro.

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty good place. If you don’t want a typical motel in the Brattleboro area, this cute and cozy mini cabin will do the trick. It could use a little work on the craftsmanship (walls need extra reinforcing, painting) and the door should be able to be locked from the outside. I’d also add that you should definitely make sure You have a 4WD or AWD car if you’re staying here. The dirt road leading up to it is quite muddy and difficult to navigate if you don’t have a capable car. Other than that I wish there was running water and a fireplace, but since Chuck was upfront about that stuff, this place met my expectations. I don’t recommend this place for someone over 6 feet tall and over 250 pounds.

    Anour2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck provided us with an unforgettable stay; his Tiny Art House is so perfectly cozy and comforting, especially for watching the snow fall on a Winter’s night. The place was warm and inviting upon first entering, and kept it’s homey feel while still feeling like a retreat in the woods. I cannot recommend it enough, and I look forward to coming back and making more memories!

    Kendra2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck's TAH was the greatest answer to our need of a "do nothing and relax" getaway. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and Brattleboro was the best to wander and explore. But don't let the size of this little cabin fool you-- it is well beyond comfortable to just hang around and play cards in! The porch was even wonderful to sit out on while it snowed, wrapped up in a blanket. Our stay was beyond our expectations; we even got to buy some of Chuck's art to take home with us! This is an experience you will not regret, and one we plan on reliving many more times!

LONG-TERM AVAILABLE FOR MAY-EARLY JUNE. Located at the junction of the Green Mountains and the Champlain Valley, this quiet space sits on 70 forested acres. A quick drive to Brandon, Middlebury College, Lake Dunmore, and the Green Mountain National Forest, this is the perfect home base. Enjoy nature in this secluded space and discover what Addison County has to offer from an easy to access location. Explore nearby lakes and plenty of trails, and events and culture are just down the road.
Spring and summer in Vermont are truly glorious. The cabin was built as a hunting camp by a logging firm that harvested timber here. We have built our home on the property and updated the cabin with plenty of amenities. The cabin is a nice balance of rustic, cozy, and comfortable, and we take pride in the beauty of this place.
Plenty to do nearby! Rutland and Middlebury Farmers' Markets, Wood's Garden Market, Champlain and Douglas Orchards, Falls of Lana, Silver Lake, Branbury State Park, Goshen Dam, shops and restaurants in Middlebury and Brandon, Rutland's Paramount Theater, Cattails Restaurant, Texas Falls, Route 100 Scenic Highway, Mount Independence Historic Site and Fort Ticonderoga, rivers and mountains galore! Still a working forest, the property is home to a plethora of wildlife, hosting two beaver dams and a designated deer wintering area. There are some trails here on the property, and plenty of outdoor space for you to enjoy. Enjoy colorful sunsets as herons, ducks, and geese fly in for the evening, or spend the evening out in the cultural centers of Brandon or Middlebury. Bring, rent or borrow a boat and spend the day at nearby Lake Dunmore, Fern Lake, or Sugar Hill Reservoir; make the stunning 1 hour drive up to Burlington for the day for cool shops and great restaurants; or pick fresh Vermont fruits and berries with views of Lake Champlain. The Moosalamoo Recreation area is right in our backyard. There is so much to do around here, you may not want to leave!
  • We had a very nice time staying at Mark and Katie's cabin. The place is clean and accurately portrayed. Mark and Katie were very accommodating and responded quickly to any and all questions we had about the area and cabin. Given the opportunity, we would gladly stay again. I would absolutely recommend Mark's cabin to anyone that enjoys a quiet, cozy space to come back to after exploring the beauty VT has to offer.

  • This was the perfect cabin for my trip! I absolutely loved it, so much so that I mostly laid in bed and enjoyed the fireplace! Thanks Catie and Mark for the eggs and maple syrup!

    Michele2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the “cabin in the woods”, as my kids call it. The cabin was spotless, with fresh eggs from the chickens and complimentary maple syrup. the property includes some fun hiking trails that go by a beaver pond. We also got to see the sap running and taste freshly boiled syrup from their sugar house. We hope to go back soon!

    Caroline2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time at the cabin! Mark and Catie are fantastic hosts who gave us really great directions for finding them, which we did easily. The location is incredibly peaceful, and we loved seeing the chickens outside the cabin! The cabin is so cosy and sparkling clean, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen had all the facilities we needed to cook a lovely dinner. The fireplace made the cabin very warm and relaxing too. We really enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast, and the maple syrup left in the kitchen for us was delicious. I couldn’t rate our stay more highly - I would return in a heartbeat!

    Anna2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy and clean and near a lot of great hiking trails. The hosts left plenty of information about stuff to do locally and were very helpful!

    Tammy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute and cozy cabin on a beautiful little farm. Perfect for a quintessential New England getaway. Mark and Catie were super hospitable and friendly, we can’t wait to return for another trip!

    Hayley2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect cabin in the woods. It was our first time using the grill and we had no idea what we were doing, but our lovely hosts helped us get the fire going. Chicken came out great btw. Beautiful clean kitchen, spotless bathroom, trendy and homey feeling. The bed was soooo comfortable. Super clean, super private and quiet. Best sleep we've had in a LONG time. They also provided us with a list of places to see and do nearby. Loved this place, will come back!

    Tania2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend. Mark and Catie are exceptional hosts and quick to respond. My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at the cabin during our ski trip. The fresh eggs and nice touches within the cabin were fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again soon. Must stay cabin!

From the moment you cross the cedar footbridge over Alder Brook, you'll know you're somewhere special. Featured in Boston Magazine and CabinPorn, Alder Brook Cottage is an inspired, rustic dream cabin located in the woods of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Surrounded by a crystal clear stream and 1400 acres of rugged forest, it is the perfect getaway for glampers looking to experience the tiny house life. Minutes away from Caspian Lake, Hill Farmstead Brewery, and Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
**Read this: this is a rustic cottage—no electricity or running water, and you have to be okay with climbing a loft ladder AND using an outhouse. Buy firewood locally.** When I was young, I had a dream in which I lived in a tiny house in the woods. I still remember every detail of it. As I went through my teens and twenties, the dream never faded…and so, in 2015, my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. We bought land in the woods of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, and guided by our hearts and many books, we built a tiny house. After you park off the (paved) road, you’ll cross a wooden footbridge over a stream and climb a rocky staircase into the forest. After a couple hundred feet, the house appears through the trees. Inside you’ll find a sunny, cozy space that is perfect for relaxing in the beauty of the woods. There is a kitchenette with a stove and pots and pans, a bathroom with a shower basin, a fold-out daybed, a wood stove, a pull-down table, bookshelves lined with some of my favorite books, and a loft with the most comfortable queen mattress in Vermont. Summer, fall, winter, spring — the cabin is like something out of a fairytale. **You’ll need to bring your own water (2 gallons per person per day is usually enough, and you can refill at a nearby spring on Route 14) **You'll need to buy your own bundles of firewood at nearby Aubuchon Hardware. Don't bring firewood from other places — it transports invasive pests that are currently devouring some of our beloved trees here in the Kingdom! **It is in the woods, but you can still hear cars on the road about 200 feet away. Behind the house is 1400 acres of untouched forest, cliffs, and streams. You’re 5 minutes from the town of Hardwick, with all modern conveniences available. You are nearby tons of pristine lakes and rivers, the best brewery in the world (no joke — Hill Farmstead Brewery has won best in the world many times), the best cheesemaker in the world (Jasper Hill Farm....also no joke), nordic skiing at Craftsbury Outdoor Center, mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, and ski resorts such as Stowe, Burke Mountain, Jay Peak, and many more. Check in: 3pm or later Check out: 10am When you leave: strip sheets, take your trash, clean your dishes, leave no food
Hardwick is a quintessential Vermont village, with a little library, a bookshop, restaurants, and various other businesses along a short main street. There is cross-country skiing and mountain biking in town. You'll love restaurants like The Village Restaurant, Connie's Kitchen, and Positive Pie. A really cool old suspension footbridge crosses the river downtown.
  • This little cabin in the woods is a slice of heaven! My wife and I came here for a birthday weekend retreat and fell in love with Kyle & Jenny’s tiny home. It is very thoughtfully laid out and fits into the landscape seamlessly. The little wood stove is very efficient and kept the cabin super toasty. Sipping on some Hill Farmstead by a crackling fire and no hum of electronics - pure zen full peace! Highly recommend this cabin for a getaway.

    Nathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Love every minute in this beautiful cabin, as well as exploring the surrounding woods. Great place to disconnect and enjoy the little things nature has to offer!

    Sarah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin in a beautiful forest! Great space and a perfect weekend escape. We look forward to going back!

    Lucy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I'll keep coming back to this place because it's so idyllic, it's the perfect way to unwind and relax, it's clean, the scenery is beautiful, and Hardwick is a lovely town.

    Roksi2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a getaway where you can truly get away and re-connect, this gem in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom is the place! My girlfriend and I have been there twice now, both in the heart of Winter and it is a snow frosted Wonderland without doubt! And I’m sure every other Season is equally as charming in its own way. Kyle and Jenny’s labor of love, love of nature and simple living is apparent in every aspect of this lovely little cabin.

    Brandon2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was exactly as the post described. They checked in with us the night we got there. The place definitely gets nice and toasty with the stove! Thank you for a great stay.

    Frankie2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is perfect for what we desired. Small, cozy, cute, isolated in nature and amazingly well located since I often travel to The Alchemist and Hill Farmstead breweries. There's firewood and ice within 10 minutes drive. The wood stove is small but effective, you just need to baby it a bit as it typically only fits one log at a time once it's going. All in all I would come back to this cabin again and would recommend for anyone looking to be more isolated or closer to Hill Farmstead Brewery.

    Christopher2020-01-24T00:00:00Z

One of the oldest homes in West Townshend with loads of charm! Bright, cozy rooms and a private yard with outdoor fire pit. Quiet side street with easy access to the Townshend Lake Trail System. Enjoy nature walks, river exploration, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. Walk to the country store/café for wholesome meals plus seasonal Farmer's Market. Convenient to both Brattleboro and Manchester. Explore Southern Vermont's recreation, dining, shopping and ski resorts
The space is cozy with plenty of natural light and is set up to make your stay as comfortable as possible. New mattresses and beds with quality linens and towels. New washer and dryer for laundry during extended stays. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you want to do your own cooking. There is a toaster oven as well as a traditional electric range and a microwave. Coffee and tea are provided. There have been many recent upgrades to this home, but several features are unique in character including an antique claw foot bath tub (with shower) in the main bathroom. The second bathroom is quite small with an older tub as well plus a hand held shower . As is typical with old Vermont farm houses- people made use of what was availble. The house, with its old time VT character and the village setting will definitely give you a classic small town New England experience!
The neighbors keep to themselves, but friendly. Worden Lane is not a through road so there is very little traffic. A short walk to the end of the road will lead you to the trail system.
  • Beautiful cottage. Would absolutely stay here again.

  • We were so positively surprised when we entered Tansy's place because it was even nicer than we expected! It was larger than we expected as well. The place is wonderfully decorated, and outfitted with everything you need - shampoo/conditioner/soap, a smart TV with Netflix, a landline for local calls in case yours doesn't work, comfy beds, etc. We loved how the light entered the 2nd floor bedroom when we woke up. The heating worked very well too. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you, Tansy!

  • Was an amazing place to stay for a week. It made our first trip to Vermont the best! Location is quiet, everything was clean, comfortable and felt just like home. I would definitely stay here many more times. The host was amazing with any and all questions and replied quickly if we had questions throughout our stay.

    Danyele2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tansy’s place was really great. It was quaint in a good way and very spacious with a wonderful country feel to it. It was a very warm place to come home to after a long day of skiing.

  • Tansy was a great host and the cottage was adorable! It was quaint, relaxing and well decorated - we loved it. The outlets were baby proofed which was thoughtful for those with families. The cottage was spacious and the pictures didn’t so justice - much better than expected. Truly got the Vermont winter experience. Would recommend to anyone and come back! Thank you!

I live in this beautiful flat with a cat named Josephine in case either of those facts is a deal breaker. Cosy Yellow is the smaller of the 2 bedrooms available in this Victorian home. It is bright & free of anyone else's clutter. The location is walking distance from downtown and the waterfront. Laundry & Apple TV among other amenities. The breakfast are of the highest quality organic, fair trade and locally sourced food. I can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and grain free diets.
The rooms I offer are on the first floor of a beautiful Victorian House. The landlady lives on the second floor when she is not in Florida.
We are a 5 minute walk from Battery Park where the sunsets are world class. Also just as close is the Burlington Waterfront park, the boathouse, skatepark, fishing pier, sailing club and 8 mile bike path. 10 minutes in the other direction is ChurchStreet MarketPlace which is a 4 block long pedestrian shopping area. Nearby is a wetland walk at the Ethan Allen Homestead, a little further the Ethan Allen Park with trails and a tower for viewing the whole area. There are three parks in close proximity; NorthBeach, Oakledge & RedRocks. I recommend the CityMarket for grocery needs & they have a hot and cold food bar.
  • Absolutely amazing stay. We didn’t expect much from an Airbnb, but Deborah was very thoughtful and one with us. She helped us out with directions and suggestions for our itinerary. She was very kind and sociable. We loved our first trip to Burlington and hope to come back soon.

  • We enjoyed our short stay at Deborah's, especially the comfort of the room, the great breakfast and Josephine the cat! The house is at walking distance from Burlington center, which makes it great if you want to have a stroll and enjoy the shops and restaurants a few blocks away.

It's the perfect place to relax and have a staycation! Or a real vacation it's the perfect spot for snow bums, summer lovers or people who just want to experience Vermont!
This space was built by us and the help of each of our families! It is on 30 acres that we also live on. Here on the property we have bees, chickens, a small pond & brook plus more wildlife than you can imagine. It is so joyful to sit and listen to the song birds or watch the deer graze. It is a place of joy and laughter and we would love to bring others to enjoy what we get to enjoy everyday.
We love how close we are to down town but still out in the woods. We love being on a dirt road but still only one mile from pavement!
  • We had a great time and will be back again for sure! This cabin was everything we expected and more!

    Sabrina2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a perfect spot - close to Montpelier, the Interstate and just about anything you want to do.

    Margaret & Don2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start of by saying we first met Leah and Dustin as they were sledding down a massive hill right off the back of bnb cabin, they were out collecting fresh honey, yes real honey and they even let us try it in the raw talk about an awesome check in process. We couldn’t of been more satisfied with this cabin it has everything you need/want from cookware to in house to laundry and even a full kitchen and a huge TV in the loft! The owners were so attentive and responded quickly regardless how ridiculous your request might be (AAA batteries) @9pm lol, but yes this place is an absolute must and worth driving to Vermont to just to stay here! The worst part was the drive up to the cabin which wasn’t even that bad hence why my reason for the 4/5 stars on location Questionnaire part if you don’t have 4 wheel drive, or you aren’t familiar with VT backcountry then you don’t belong driving up to this place it’s on an unpaved road that is hard to climb even for a RAV4! But once your there your home! Thank you guys for a great stay we will most definitely be staying here again! All the best Shane Riley

    Shane2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay with beautiful views out of the windows and from the outside. It really is a cozy cabin! It simultaneously felt expansive due to the high ceiling in the kitchen and the ample lighting. A great place for a getaway!

    Philip2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous cabin, wish we could have stayed longer.

    Francoise2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Leah offered to arrive on time. They left us coffee for the morning. Very comfortable bed. The premises are clean and we had inside the cabin the necessary to cook, wash the laundry, internet ... They also left us tourist information. We were there to hike and they left us a Vermont hiking guide. We will definitely be going back for another hike in the Green Mountains.

    Sami2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little cabin in a great little town! All the comforts of home and privacy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay around Montpellier. Close to town but far enough away to feel like you’re deep in the woods.

    Joanne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Photos don’t even begin to give justice for how beautiful Leah’s cabin is. Not too far from the town, beautifully decorated & so cozy. My boyfriend & I would love to stay there again. Thank you Leah!

  • The little cabin in the woods is a perfect place to stay. We went for 2 nights for my fiancé’s birthday to visit Vermont breweries. I would recommend for couples looking to get away and check out breweries and local shops. Good place for skiing and TONS of snowmobiles everywhere. Going up and down the loft stairs was interesting in the middle of the night but did not pose any issues. Just hold the rail you’ll be good. If ever in the area again we would stay here for sure.

    Myshele2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A really great experience and stay! Perfect for exploring the local area and a short trip to Stowe. The cabin itself is very prepared for every visitor with all needed utensils, dishes, cookware, towels, blankets, and more! If you forget something, you likely won’t need to worry! Would highly recommend!

    Riley2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

We really enjoyed the fireplace which heats up the cabin and Mr. Vermont was extremely friendly. He told us about the town and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely be staying here again!

** THIS AIRBNB IS CLEANED FOLLOWING THE COVID-19 PROTOCOL** Enjoy your visit to Burlington in this spacious and sunny 1 bedroom apartment. This is the perfect spot for those looking to go out and experience the shopping and nightlife of the downtown area. You'll be 1 block away from Church street's shopping and dining, and a 1/2 block away from some of the best bars and live music in town (Radio Bean, Lamp Shop, OP, 3 Kneads). The waterfront is also just a short 10 minute walk through town.
The apartment is designed and stocked to provide you with everything you would expect in a hotel + more. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining and is always stocked with coffee and tea. Enjoy the record player, a book, or some quiet time on the sofa, this space was decorated lovingly with unique and vintage treasures that all have a history and a story behind them. The bedroom has a queen size bed and a 45" flat screen T.V.. There is hi-speed internet, basic TV channels, and Chromecast, so watching your favorite shows on the TV will be a breeze if you choose to bring your laptop/smartphone. The Bathroom has a claw foot tub for relaxing baths, and towels, washcloths, blow dryer, iron, and ironing board are all provided.
The Olde North End is (perhaps I’m biased) my favorite neighborhood in Burlington. It is close to downtown, but has a more homey and local feel. The neighborhood is home to many artists, musicians, and other creative types. It has a great selection of bars and restaurants that won’t be as busy as the more touristy downtown area (Drifters, Duino, and Butch and Babes are some of my favorite places to eat and grab a drink).
  • Apartment was clean and beautiful, had everything we needed. The perfect escape.

  • Kathleen's place was a dream- not only was the apartment so close to everything but was cozy, quaint, and homey. Would definitely reccomend Kathleen's place to anyone who wants comfort/affordability and to be in the heart of Burlington. It was amazing and my fiancé and I had a wonderful stay! Thank you Kathleen!

  • Great place, location & hospitality

    David2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the apartment is perfect! Everything you need is within walking distance of the apartment, including City Market, which is awesome for fresh groceries and pre-made foods. The apartment itself is cozy as can be with a comfortable bed and chrome cast TV. The living space was ample and decorated nicely with some funky touches. It even has a claw foot tub ... a glass of wine, some candles and a good relaxing soak!!! You'll love it! Check in was a breeze ... Kathleen gave us perfect instructions and although we didn't meet our host, we knew she was there if we needed her! I would not hesitate to go back!

    Marie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location and lovely, intimate space. Bedroom is right on the street which was slightly noisy but the bed was very comfortable and communication very good. It could not have been better situated to enjoy Burlington in the winter time. Kathleen even allowed a bit of flexibility for check out. Lovely stay! We would definitely stay again.

    Suzanne2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing apartment! It is located just steps away from all the good stuff in Burlington. It is warm and cozy. Very cute. Would definitely stay here again.

  • This place was absolutely perfect. It was quaint and charming, right in the heart of where we wanted to be in Burlington. Free parking was never a problem—we always found a spot despite snowy streets.

    Lauren2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful weekend stay at Kathleen's place! Ideal location, just a few minute walk from the heart of downtown Burlington. Easy check-in and check-out, plenty of space for two people, and loved that the door had suggestions for restaurants, things to do, etc. written on it. Would definitely recommend this place!

If you decide to walk around, Londonderry is the perfect place to start a snowball fight just for fun. You can find beautiful horses right on the side of the road. In summer the place is full of colors and nature and there are awesome swimming and fishing spots!
  • Fernando’s cabin brings peace and relaxation in a way I haven’t experienced in a long time! If you need to exhale and marvel at the outdoors and get off the grid for a moment you’ll want this little piece of heaven! Ben’s place is a diamond in the rough and truly is a magical, relaxing and beautiful place on the map. Thank you Ben!

    Jon2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Fernando’s cabin for one night, with the intention to go skiing the next day. Due to the pandemic we couldn’t go skiing but decided to come to the cabin anyway! Ben’s directions were easy to follow & the cabin was easy to get to. All of his instructions were clear & easy to follow. There was nothing overwhelming about them. The cabin was spotless, and we found everything we needed to cook & clean up. The cabin is so cozy for a winter night. We explored the area & got take out from a local restaurant for dinner. We watched a couple of movies on the portable DVD player too! There were nice little touches around the cabin like a guest book and some fun reads including Bens cookbook! We wish we could have stayed longer and can not wait to come back!

    Sarah2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quite and cozy exactly what we needed to get away for this sometimes crazy world.

    Craig2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ben is an extremely responsive and friendly host! Our stay was exactly what we were looking for to get off the grid for a night- cozy, warm, comfortable, full of country chic charm. We did not use the sauna but did enjoy the hot tub, which is a short walk (~ 2 minutes) across the property, so relaxing after a day of hiking. We hope to stay again sometime!

    Jamie2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin and surrounding area! The views on the drive up were awesome and the cabin was exactly as described. Everything was very clean and Ben was super quick with responding to questions through the app. I would definitely recommend staying here or at any of Ben’s locations!

  • Super cozy cabin with all of the necessary amenities to make the stay comfortable and easy. Ben is very responsive and cordial as well! The location is beautiful and perfectly secluded, and I love that it is pet-friendly. Our Newfoundland puppy had one of his best weekends during our time at the cabin!

    Dan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ben’s place is the perfect quiet getaway for those looking to relax and take time for themselves. It’s extremely clean and quiet, and located close to plenty of outdoor activities. Ben is fast with communication and always helpful. We highly recommend!!

  • A very nice, clean, bright space that is a great location for all that the Stowe area has to offer. The house is quiet, solid, warm and has just the right amount of space to make you feel comfortable. We loved this place.

  • One of the best Airbnb homes we’ve stayed at! Great home and location for our ski trip. Charming area with great local amenities.

    Cecile2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Unique and thoughtful place. Eco friendly. Super clean. Private. Great location. Downtown Morrisville is just a few minutes away. It’s a chill area with a great food co-op. House is close to multiple ski areas, hiking, biking, breweries, etc. but outside the bustle of Stowe proper. Easy drive to Burlington. Really worked great for our Vermont winter adventure!

    Tom2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with a short drive to ski at Stowe. Super clean and stylish.

  • Adorable accommodations that were just as described/pictured. Great location and just the right amount of space for me, my husband and two daughters!

    Jana2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This has been one of our best Airbnb experiences in Stowe! Pam is superb and so responsive! The home is everything we hoped for and more! It’s cozy and comfortable, well maintained and thoughtfully styled. We love green building and this home has so many of the features we are planning in our future home. The home is cozy and it’s due to its thoughtful construction and design, it has a whole home fresh air system and even a whole home water filter. The owners have gone above and beyond to make this a healthy home. The furniture is laid out efficiently and it’s clutter free. We were really able to relax and enjoy our stay both indoors and out. I’m not used to a washer/dryer combo and it takes a little longer to dry. A tip is to do smaller loads and to do it when you either first wake up or set a delay to run overnight.

    Elena2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s house is fantastic. Really clean and comfortable, with everything you need. Pam was really helpful suggesting a local walk for us to do too, which the whole family enjoyed. Finally the house is a a super efficient passive house, which is some cool engineering and excellent for the environment! Thank you Pam!

    Joshua2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly as pictured and was a wonderful place to spend a long weekend with friends. Everything truly was pristine and the the location was really convenient. Drive times noted in the listing are accurate. I loved that the house it’s super energy efficient. Don’t hesitate to book.

  • We loved staying at the tiny house. The cottage was jolly, comfortable, with tasty well water, heat, WiFi and shower. We enjoyed having our breakfast at the outside picnic table, playing all sort of ball games (we brought our own) on the beautiful grounds, visiting chickens, and making fire at night. There is also great hiking within 10-minute drive. Sarah was very responsive to all our questions before after we arrived.

  • Awesome little get away, close to mount snow, very cozy, and extremely affordable!

    Ethan2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve never stayed in a tiny home before and this was my first one. And it’s an awesome first one at that. It’s quite and quaint. I went up on a snowboard trip and have been eyeing on this tiny home on Airbnb for about a year and decided to try it. It’s pretty roomy. I felt comfortable in it. They let me bring my dog - super huge win. And it was pretty simple and minimalistic. It’s quiet - when I was there no one was around and it was just super nice. The kitchen was small but usable for most things. I didn’t really cook here so I’m unsure. The place gets warm! And the water is amazing. I was worried when it said well water but uh that water quality is amazing. Both for drinking and cleaning. Honestly? I can’t rave enough about it. It’s close to Stratton and mount snow and Bromley if you are doing the ski trip thing. And, for summer, there’s a lot of outdoors stuff to do up here. I’d stay again in a heartbeat and prob will in the summer.

Gorgeous country retreat between Burlington and Middlebury. A "dimensionally transcendental" space (per Dr. Who: bigger on the inside ;o) built as an artist's studio, located in a meadow bordered by woods and a wide creek on 22 acres, magical in all seasons. When you arrive you might think you're at the wrong house, as the exterior keeps its secrets. When you walk in, the soaring cathedral ceiling and back walls of windows frame a unique space: artistic, rustic, beautiful, and very comfy.
One large, 2-story room with two double beds: a bed on the main floor with a firm mattress, and a comfy futon on the sleeping loft. There's a well-equipped kitchen perfect for making romantic dinners, with an under-the-counter fridge and commercial range installed in Spring 2016. There are both electric and drip coffee set-ups, and a toaster. No microwave. A large dining table (made by a local furniture building from local wood) for the amazing dinners you'll make, or to spread out your work and find inspiration. The center of the space holds a comfy "living room" area to hang out in; the couch can also serve as a bed for 1. The cozy bedroom corner on the main floor and the futon on the sleeping loft make for dreamy night sleeps, both have fans and windows to stay cool in the summer. The recently renovated bathroom has an antique claw-foot tub, with a removable plank "desk" for your book and glass of wine. There is a radio & CD player, and iPod/Phone hook-up, wireless internet, and a land line. As you can see from the reviews, it's a very special place, intimate in size but expansive in feel, because of the cathedral ceiling and wall of windows with a view onto the meadow, creek, and sunset. It's a beautiful artistic/rustic interior, quirky, with a high level of comfort, many lovely rugs, and a lot of art. Perfect for an active vacation, a romantic get-away, or a creative, spiritual, or rejuvenating retreat. Please note: It's country living, and there is wildlife in the area. You may see snakes, mice, spiders, ants, bees, ticks, deer, and even a bear. the Leave all food either in the fridge or in the plastic container near the back door. If you leave food out on the counter, it will attract mice and ants. There is usually tick spray in the house, as well as information on how to remove them. You may well not experience any of the above!
Great natural beauty with an intimate scale. Covered bridges, rolling hills, swimming holes, x-country ski trails, fresh eggs for sale across the road. A vibrant creek (actually a small river) borders the land with easy access for wading, swimming, and fishing. The neighborhood (accessible by car) also has cafés, restaurants, bakeries, markets, hardware, yoga . . . pretty much anything you'll need.
  • I spent 3 days here and it was quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. Hinesburg is ~ 5 miles away and has a very nice grocery store and pharmacy. Janie was quick to respond and made check in and check out a breeze. I highly recommend her cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful VT retreat.

    Kyle2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Janie's "cabin" is in a beautiful location and has a charm beyond words. It is spacious and cozy and wonderfully located in the countryside but within easy reach of Burlington, Vergennes and Shelbourne. It's rustic but very comfortable. Well worth a visit.

    Mark2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy space with nice views and good hills for sledding in winter. Area is beautiful.

    Jeyme2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute and cozy cabin, was a perfect getaway space. Kitchen has basic things needed for cooking, but not very good lighting for cooking in the evening. We were able to take a short walk behind the cabin which was very pleasant. It's at least a 15-20 minute drive to get anywhere, but the scenery of the drive is beautiful.

    Joy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Janie's place. It is in a beautiful area of Vermont with farmland all around and about 30 min away from Burlington for great food options and views of lake Champlain. Thanks again for a great visit!

    Marc2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a relaxing and unique place! Janie was so thoughtful and very communicative. The place stayed nice and cozy even with the chilly conditions and falling snow outside. Highly recommended.

  • Very nice place, warm welcome, privacy respected. We stayed with Jane and Fred for 7 days. It was very pleasant and extremely relaxing. A comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. Ideal for people who ski downhill or snowboard. The proximity of several mountains charmed us. We will definitely stay there again.

    Frederic2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jane and Fred’s place exceeded our expectations. This was the perfect place to come home to after a day skiing at Killington and warm up by the fireplace!

    Nina2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Adorable place and sweet hosts. Sparkling clean, well provisioned and so comfortable. A model for all Air BNB’s.

    Bruce2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 3, including a 6 years old seasoned airbnb-er, enjoyed every single moment being in Jane and Fred's house. They set up the place nice and warm before our arrival. The kitchen has everything we needed to quickly whip up a scrumptious dinner after a long day skiing down the mountain slopes. In the evening, we loved to cuddle around the fireplace and played Scrabble. The communication is excellent. The response to our questions are always immediate. After knowing that I had trouble making the coffee maker work, Jane brought me fresh brew coffee in a thermos the first morning we were there. She retrieved the machine to find out why it was not working. That afternoon when we came back, a brand new coffee maker was sitting on the kitchen counter!!! We felt at home and cared for during our stay. Thank you, Jane and Fred! We will soon be returning!!!

  • Just a wonderful apartment. Definitely somewhere you want to stay for a few days at least. 25 min from Okemo, 35 from killington. Located on a beautiful farm. Very comfortable.

  • Cozy, welcoming space. So grateful for all the nice touches. Cooking essentials, comfortable bed, fireplace, relaxing living area, etc.

    Patricia2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I have been making weekend trips up to Vermont for a few years now and have stayed at a number of Airbnb’s to date. Our stay at Jane and Fred’s just jumped to the top of our list. The space was super cozy and well-appointed. It had everything we needed and then some. Would be great for a longer stay with plenty of space as well as a washer/dryer in the unit for convenience. Hope to make it back again sometime soon !

    Amelia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • So relaxing for the end of February getaway...a little cabin fever! Our first Airbnb experience and we were beyond pleased. If you need to truly unwind and let the world pass you by this is the place to be. We cooked all our meals here and it was very relaxing to do so. No trying to find something in a location we didn’t know even though Lisa would have gladly provided suggestions. A nice variety or spices and teas and coffee. Look in the green wooden file cabinet...tin foil and baggies, etc...many baskets all over the cabin have all sorts of personal needs in them. Don’t feel like you are snooping she really has thought of everything so look in the baskets upstairs and down, she has you covered...literally home away from home, only quieter! No tv no radio just each other and it was nice and peaceful. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and loved all the pillows. The shower had plenty of hot water. The stairs to go upstairs are a little steep for folks that might have a hard time with stairs, so be careful there. Oven worked great burners did as well. There is not a microwave. Lisa checked in with us and made us feel that if we needed her she would have been right there but also was content respecting our privacy. At the top of the driveway is Lisa’s house but the two are very separate from each other and we never knew they were there. The little couch in the pictures looks like an uncomfortable old couch it was actually very comfy and we spent hours there talking and watching the snow flurries and trees outside. We have a Subaru Outback AWD and had no issues getting through some of the soft dirt roads to get there. Her place was super easy to find yet minutes to shops. For a small weekend getaway we feel like we were gone for weeks. Stress of the world completely melts away here. We hope to come back in the summer or early fall to open the windows and relax on the porch and enjoy the soothing sounds of the brook right outside. So glad we found you ❤️

    Tammy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a sick cabin to stay at! This place was great - definitely your go to “out in the woods of Vermont” cabin!

    Luke2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The cabin was clean, cozy and warm. We can’t wait for our next visit!! We took a drive into Brattleboro for dinner on Saturday evening and found ourselves anxious to get back to our little cabin in the woods! We needed a weekend to decompress and it was the perfect place to do so. Lisa had EVERYTHING that we could possibly need for a weekend away. My husband loved my choice for our weekend away. He is still talking about going back!

  • Amy and Reg are great hosts! They have thought of everything you might need for a little cabin during a quick trip and made it feel like our own home!

  • This is a cozy place with a great view. We even had a fridge full of snacks and bagels for breakfast waiting for us.

  • Amy’s place is a gorgeous guest house perched on top of a large hill that provides for excellent views ! The space is very stylish and looks as if a professionally decorated. Reg let me in the unit when I arrived and is a very friendly. The hill was a bit challenging in mud season but I had all wheel drive and studded snow tires . But if one wants the views makes perfect sense the road is a bit of a steep climb . I would guess the xc skiing from the guest house is excellent . The hot tub was perfect, super clean ! a short walk but made it even more enjoyable to get in the hot water . The whole property is immaculate and you can see the thoughtful effort that’s gone into the whole estate . So picturesque could be a location for a movie . A+

  • This was one of our best Airbnb experiences! The Airbnb was super clean and very lovely. The entire place was beautifully decorated and had many thoughtful touches. Bagels were provided for breakfast as well as a full fridge of juices, snacks, coffee and more! We used the hot tub ever day that looked out over the mountain and their farm. The dogs were super sweet and the entire weekend was perfect! Thank you for your great hospitality you, can’t wait to come back

  • Amy and Reg are amazing hosts with an amazing property! The views are better than any picture. The amenities are so nice and everything was so clean! Having coffee in the morning looking out at the mountains is something I will certainly miss! Can't wait to go back!

  • Amy’s house was absolutely beautiful! The hot tub was the best part of our whole trip! The house is beautiful and over looks a beautiful view! Amy and Reg were both so accommodating to everything! Only thing was the house was located on top of a huge hill that my little Hyundai Elantra had a hard time getting up, so just be mindful of that if you have a small car. Other than that the space itself was amazing and I would love to go back
