I am offering an advanced session to learn the process of creating a coloured borosilicate glass pendant art work. This is a workshop session for maximum 3 people and lasts around 3 hours with a few breaks. During the session each participant makes minimum two ornaments and often more.. I teach how to blow a glass bubble with coloured dots on. Towards the end of the session I will create a several demo pieces to show tricks and techniques. The participant will get to keep the demo pieces as well. Please note the pieces made need to be annealed in the kiln for 6 hours after the session end so they will not be ready to take home. I will post them safely or they can be picked up. This can take up to three weeks. I also issue a little self made named certificate as a memory. Not suitable for children under 10 years of age. Alpacaly Ever After are delighted to be working with Forestry Commission England to bring our world famous alpaca walks to Whinlatter Forest! Trail through England’s only true mountain forest, get to know our delightful alpacas up close along the way, take part in feeding time and ask as many questions as you can think of! Once you've booked and found your way to Whinlatter Forest, we will meet you at the visitor centre. After an introduction and covid safety briefing we will walk you to our alpaca boys eagerly waiting for a walk and some snacks. We will show you how to walk an alpaca and introduce you to your walk buddy. Once we're all ready we'll head off on our walk through the forest, along the way our guide will tell you about your alpaca, answer any questions you have and give you a complete lesson in alpacas and llamas. We have several stops for snacking and selfies and an amazing viewpoint with views over the Lake District. On our journey we will be on multi-user trails and single tracks enjoying England's only Mountain Forest. At the end of our walk we will give you time to get selfies, feed the alpacas and ask any more burning questions. As a Non-Profit Social Enterprise all the income from our activities goes back into supporting the work we do re-homing and rescuing alpacas and llamas, and providing free and subsidised activities for 3rd sector organisation.

We will meet on the Croft, beside the workshop. Signage says ‘shop’. Your tour will begin by introducing you to our animals, sheep, Highland cows and donkeys. You will receive a warm Highland welcome and will gain insight into the daily routines of crofting and the life of our sheep and how we produce ethical wool. We will then enter my workshop where you will gain a brief history of fleece preparation, hand spinning, the reasons and history behind our uniquely hand knitted designs including our famous bespoke fisherman’s Gansey. You will have an opportunity to see our products and understand about Croft sustainability here on the Isle of Skye. A humerous story telling experience for everyone. This tour includes a little of The Royal Mile and a lot of The Castle. Set aside time after your tour to explore. The price advertised does not include the entrance price to the castle, this is because some people book their own tickets in advance. We meet on the Royal Mile and start by giving a little background history to Edinburgh and the Castle to help put everything into context. Moving up to the castle esplanade where you will learn about the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and two of the most famous figures from Scottish history; Robert the Bruce and William Wallace.
