Places to stay in Tyrone
Crocknagree Cottage is a beautiful, four star, two-story self catering cottage in the countryside. It combines old tradition with all the modern comforts. The cottage is situated in the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains in Co. Tyrone.
The cottage has a large bedroom and bathroom on both ground and upper floors. It has a large bright open plan kitchen and sitting room featuring an attractive stone fireplace with log burning stove. The cottage perfectly fits 8 people with three double beds and two single beds.
Where the cottage is based there is freedom to roam through the nearby forests, rolling hills and pastures. There are lots of animals such as cows, sheep, hens, horses etc.
  • Very tranquil surroundings....if you love looking at the night sky, this is for you! Location is a bit out of the way, but that is also the charm! The twin beds are in the third bedroom. Wish we could have enjoyed the fireplace, but it was summer! (Peter did offer to light it if we wanted) If you are not British/Irish, the Trivial Pursuit game can be challenging! Wifi works fine as long as everyone is not trying to jump on at the same time!

  • Peter's Cottage is very beautiful, clean and child friendly. Peter himself was very friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable. The cottage is located in a very scenic country side location. I would highly recommend this stay for anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

  • Everything was perfect! Peter is a very friendly and helpful landlord!

    Christian2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's cottage is an amazing place to stay. The cottage is beautifully constructed and decorated. It has great views of farm land, sheep, and the horse will immediately become your friend. Peter is a wonderful host, and was always around if needed, and, even though anything we needed was already supplied, my father was still able to enjoy conversations with Peter about his farm, land, and Northern Ireland in general. It was a terrific stay, and a very relaxing spot in which to live for a week.

    Caroline2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Superb from start to finish. We had five nights with our three year old twins and it was excellent. Close enough to towns and villages to get supplies and secluded enough to enjoy exceptional peace and tranquility. Peter was very friendly and helpful with anything we needed or any question a we had. We will definitely return again

  • The "cottage" was very big, very warm, well equipped, very clean and very quiet in the beautiful countryside. Peter was a very generous, thoughtful host. We loved it!! Would live to come back.

    Lynda2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is a great host that gace us a warm welcoming. He showed us around and even lit the stove for us. He was always available when we had questions and helped us when we needed help :) The house is spacious, clean and warm. The living room with the open 3rd bedroom was our highlight. We stayed there for doing our own Game of Thrones tour, therefor it was perfectly located as it was max. one hour driving in any direction. Thanks Peter for having us. We can recommend you as a host as well as your cottage to everyone. We had a perfect stay there :)

    Kevin2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage in the Sperrins. Very cosy, with a wood fired stove in the main room. Our kids loved it - the cottage, feeding the horse, collecting logs and turf for the fire,... Peter was very helpful, check-in and logistics all very easy. Would definitely visit again.

  • We were over in Omagh to catch up with our friend, Country Singer, Gareth Pritchard, and this property was in Just the right area, Absolutely Fantastic Cottage, Clean and spotless throughout, Brian was a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble for him, we are so impressed we are booking again for next year, If you want to stay in a property that is a home from home, this is the one, I can’t praise it highly enough.

    Frederick2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning property in a secluded area. Ideally situated for further travel around Tyrone and surrounding areas. Brian & Marcella made us all very welcome in their wonderful home. We would recommended this property and give a whole heartedly 10 out of 10.

    Gareth2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brian and Marcella’s home is in the suburbs of Omagh, which means that without being far from the centre of town, is quiet and peaceful, and close to the Tyrone countryside. We were made to feel at home, with all the amenities that we needed, plenty of towels and hot water. Brian was quick to arrive and take care of us, and then left us to enjoy the home, while still being easily available. It was a very comfortable place in which to base ourselves. The Ulster American Folk Park is definitely worth visiting - only 10-15 minutes drive away.

  • Our stay with Sharon was one of the highlights of our trip. She and Arnie were incredibly hospitable and kind. Their home is beautiful (and built by Arnie.) They are huge fans of American bluegrass, going so far as to build a one-of-a-kind venue on the property. It is to meet a family like theirs that we take a chance on in-home rooms. Thank you so much, Sharon and Arnie, for being a defining experience during our trip to Ireland.

    Susannah2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Central location in quiet country setting. Sharon gave us great suggestions and was very welcoming.

    Cathy2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as the name suggests, Sharon and her family welcome guests into their spare room and their conversation if you wish. We had a walk with the dog and a tour of the vege patch and the lush garden. Their lovely stone home is full of quirky collectables. They are very relaxed and easy going music lovers.

    Aileen2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and Arnie were warm and friendly. I was able to visit with them and their other visitors. Sharon was helpful to suggest places to go that met my interests. Their house is beautiful. I felt very comfortable in their place - a very positive experience.

    Katalina2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A nice cozy room in an amazing 15-year old house that feels like a well-kept beautiful 200-year old antiquity with so much attention to detail. Sharon and her husband are wonderful and interesting people who made us feel very welcome. Everything was as we wished for!

    Sebastian2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect ! The house was really awsome and the welcome of Sharon warm. It was a real pleasure to meet her. If we come back again in the area, we won't hesitate to chose this house again !

    Christelle2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was a wonderful host, so welcoming. The house is cosy and quiet with a lovely fire in the living room. Sharon was excellent at communicating directions beforehand. The room had everything one could need with a very spacious bathroom. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

    Alice2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon's place was the best we have stayed in so far! It was warm, cozy friendly, and felt like home from the moment we walked in. We were treated like family and felt so welcomed. We would certainly stay here again if given the chance!

    Dungannon, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

The property is in a rural location close to Carrickmore and 20 minutes drive from Omagh, Cookstown or Dungannon. Belfast and Derry are an hour and 15 minutes drive away. Nearby attractions include An Creagan, The Ulster American Folk Park and Beagmore Stone Circles. Scalp is a traditional Irish house built in 1912 and refurbished in 2000. It is in a tranquil and peaceful setting with lots of space to relax and enjoy the views. My place is good for couples, families, big groups, and pets.
Situated half a mile from the road, at the foot of the Sperrin mountains, the farm is in a peaceful spot with stunning views. Due to it's quiet location, it benefit from limited light pollution and has dark skies, so on a clear night stars and constellations are easily visible. The farm is teaming with wildlife including rabbits, hares, foxes, badgers, stoats and buzzards, to recently spotted deer near one of the tree plantations. There is also a small pond which attracts dragon flies and, on occasion, herons.
The farm is at the foot of the Sperrin Mountains, an area described as wild, untouched and beautiful. Spanning 40 miles, the Sperrins mountain range is the largest in Ireland. Walkers can expect undulating hills covered in heather, quiet valleys, boggy uplands and a land teeming with wildlife. The area is rich in archeology with over 90 sets of stone circles have been found in the Sperrins, the best known being Beaghmore Stone Circles in the south east of the range. Despite being relatively small in stature, the alignments of the Beaghmore Stone Circles accurately correlate to movements of sun, moon and stars.
  • Eimear was a great host and the house blew us away, glorious location on hillside with wonderful outside spaces to enjoy. Well equipped and beautifully appointed home with some amazing pieces of furniture. Wish we'd had more time to just relax and enjoy the house!

    Rebecca2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Faultless. Beautiful part of the world and would recommend to anybody looking for some peace and quiet

    Ryan2018-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We are just back from a lovely stay at Eimears farm house, if your looking for absolutely stunnung scenery, privacy and peace and quiet look no further, it's a gem of a find! Weather was terrible whilst we stayed so unfortunately we didn't get to use the fire pit but hopefully on our next visit, we did however get to see the stars on our last evening and what a sight! I don't recall ever seeing stars so bright, beautiful! The house has everything you need, 2 showers a bath, plenty of books, dvds games ect and a good we kitchen to cook in with plenty utensils ect! The internet is not the greatest and we didn't have phone service the whole time but who cares it was great to get our heads out of screens for a few days Nothing was too much trouble for Eimear, she was always on hand and very helpful and had left us a welcome gift of milk, butter ect to start us of. The barns are a great addition to the property for the kids to explore, Alo I enjoyed them more than the kids haha It was fab that we could also bring our little dog who had a ball running the field's. All in all we highly recommend with a big giant thumbs up.

    Roz2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Eimer's place, she was very helpful, the house was very clean and if you want to experience the Irish countryside, this is the place for you!

    Darren2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay, cosy, clean, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water.

    Eamonn2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • eimear was a great host, the house has a historic value, very quite neighbors cause it was in the middle of the farm and it was hard to find but eimear provided some direction how to get their and very helpful. We had a bit of problem with the showers but eimear did her best to fix it and make sure our stay was as comfortable and provided as anything we want.

    Boboy2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful house. Very quiet & relaxing with a lovely history. An even more beautiful host who brought us fresh scones on arrival. We really wish we could have stayed longer.

    Amy2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Eimear's house was perfect for our family getaway. We felt very at home there, cooking our meals there each evening and making use of the fire pit outside to toast marshmallows with the kids. The setting is beautiful and the kids especially had so much fun exploring around the place. The kitchen was stocked with all essentials, Eimear even gave us some barmbrack, butter and tea upon our arrival. The beds were comfortable and there were extra blankets, pillows and towels. We didn't need for anything. Both showers are electric which helps when your travelling with a family as no need to wait for water to heat. There were books and DVDs and the tv has plenty of channels. Although there was no wifi for us, a box had arrived to be installed later that day. Phone coverage wasn't great but can be found in some spots of the house. Even though it was remote it was only a few minutes drive to Carrickmore which has a Eurospar, petrol station, restaurant and bar. 20 mins into Omagh town. We're already planning our next visit!

  • Great base for our work at the Ulster American Folk Park, just a short drive away. - House is very modern, clean, has all the extras you'd expect and those you wouldn't! Netflix logged into the TV is a nice touch. Patricia is a great host and even agreed to a later checkout, which was great! Highly recommended.

  • This place is in the most picturesque countryside possible - and the hot tub and BBQ were amazing! 10 of us were there during a summer heatwave but it would equally have been great in winter. Mel was an excellent host and was so understanding when we had a mix up with the keys at check out. Would definitely recommend!

The Bothy is a beautifully converted and newly refurbished traditional stone barn providing luxurious self-catering accommodation in the small hamlet of Rousky in the heart of the beautiful Sperrin Mountains.
  • For a relaxing stay I in a beautifully restored barn, you can't get much better. We loved our stay wishing it was longer, and Bernie was a great host with breakfast essentials and fresh eggs . The views were magic.

    Jill2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to stay in amazing surroundings! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in your gorgeous cottage. So well equipped and everything that we needed. We will definitely come back again!

    Helen2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place to stay. Charlie and Bernadette are lovely people and we very much enjoyed chatting with them. Charlie had the fire going for us when we arrived and it was very cosy. The view from the front window is so beautiful. We were even treated to fresh duck and chicken eggs as well as meeting the egg producers. The bothy is well set up and has everything you could need.

    Laura2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The converted barn is beautiful. The workmanship and the furnishings are outstanding. The view out the back is breathtaking. We loved everything about the house. Bernadette and Charlie were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed meeting them. They checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

    Linda2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is stunning! Words cannot express. The fireplace is great, so warm and cozy. They even have heaters under the floors! And the hosts were wonderful! So nice, and they left farm fresh eggs for us in the morning. The view from the backyard is like a painting. We really could not have asked for a better stay. Stop spending hours researching different places - this is the one! PS. Stop in for a bite to eat at The Green Room just down the road. You won't regret it!

    Jessica2016-03-11T00:00:00Z

    Glyn2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The converted country stone barn cottage was wonderful. It was small, quaint, and full of charm. The photos given by Bernadette depict the cottage well but photos can't capture the magic of the place. We wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage fit our group of 4 adults and 2 young children great. Bernadette and her husband made us feel right at home by stopping by and making us a turf fire the first night. Check in and out was smooth simple, allowing us to see the sights without being rushed. It was a great place to stay.

    Michael2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Bothy is amazing. So spacious and so thoughtfully constructed to create a very special warm and cosy stay in the most beautiful of northern Irish countryside. Rousky is the perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a memorable chance to sit and relax by their wonderful log fire. The kitchen is so well equipped that we had so many great days of baking and cooking with the kids. A special place in our heart is reserved for the Bothy and its wonderful owners Charlie and Bernie. The perfect hosts. The perfect house. The perfect holiday.

My place is close to restaurants, pubs, nightlife, public transport, golf courses, scenic walks, bike trails, spa, activity center, shopping village and only 45 mins from Belfast airport. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the views, the location, the luxury of the house, the peacefulness, tranquil setting, . My place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
You can enjoy all the outside garden with a play area for children along with a eating area and the fab BBQ hut The house is great for large groups with having two living rooms plus a larger kitchen with Dinning area All the rooms have TVs
Set within the hills of the country side yet nothing is too far by car - there is shops and bars 2 miles away There is also a spa located nearby
  • Beautiful house with nice backyard. Very comfortable and clean. Only complaint, they advertise a BBQ hut, then lock it up and say it's not finished. It clearly had been used.

    John2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the luxury finish of this property and the spaciousness. We visited in Winter but the backyard area would be lovely for children to play in as well as the BBQ hut! Many thanks for a lovely stay

  • We had a great luxury stay in this stunning house. The pictures are very accurate and our group of 9 adults enjoyed very much all the space and comfort of this gorgeous home. Check-in and check-out were super easy and stress-free and communication was grand from start to finish. I highly recommend to stay there for any large group.

    Matthias2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 10 people who stayed for two days. Check in was simple. The house has a great amount of space for big groups. Kitchen/dining room was big enough for the amount of people. We made use of the condiments/utensils in the kitchen. Good amount of car parking space - enough for 6 cars. A car is definitely needed as the location is quite rural. The bbq hut was brilliant! We loved the outdoor space.

  • Fantastic house - the perfect place to spend time with a large group of friends. Extremely well finished decor, house is very clean, good parking, well maintained garden, fast wi-fi and comfy sofas! Kitchen has everything you need to cook and serve meals. Very good communication before arrival - all questions dealt with promptly. Will be even better when BBQ hut finished and working - it's looking great already.

  • Lovely property in a great location, loved sitting outside with fantastic view of the lake. Geraldine very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

    Patrick2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Geraldine was a lovely host and very accommodating! Living next door meant any problems could be felt with there and then. The house is stunning and the views are perfect, even in the rain! The lake is right beside the house and you can rent a boat to fish in it which was great! Great spot for chilling with a big group as all the bedrooms were great size :) would recommend to anyone!

  • Geraldine and Victors house is beautiful, well appointed. We could stay for a week. Thank you

    Charlie2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • My family of 9 adults and 3 children had a lovely relaxing time at Emy Lake House. There was more than enough room for all of us and the house was clean and warm. Geraldine was a great host answering all my queries quickly and even dropping in to see that we were ok. I would more than recommend this house and would love to go back!

    Alexandra2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in Geraldine's stunning house in Emyvale by a beautiful lake. The house was immaculate and huge! Everything we could need was available in the house including nice little extras like condiments and spices and plenty of brochures for things in the area. Emyvale is small town and the house is a 2 minute drive away. The town has a few things like a newsagent and a couple of take aways (one of which we ordered from on our 2nd night) and a pub. The lake is beautiful and we had a brief spell of nice weather to take a walk around it. Finally Geraldine herself was a fantastic host. She dropped in a couple of times to check the heating was ok etc and was also very helpful when we had a power outage during some rough weather. She came with her husband in the middle of the night with candles and a torch which was extremely appreciated. Overall I can't recommend this house enough. We were a large group of friends so it provided a great place for us to relax for a couple of days. But I could also see it being great for a big family get together as well. Thanks for everything Geraldine! Ben

  • The home is fab, the view is spectacular and the lake is beautiful with ducks and swans. The whole area is lovely and there’s plenty to see and do.

  • Brilliant home, fab location, exceptionally good value for money. Suited all ages and everything within short drive. Amazing host and lake walk is brilliant. We only stayed two nights but will definitely book it again for a longer break.

The Coach House Learmount is a historic home set in the grounds of Learmount Castle, near Park Village. Lying in the heart of the Sperrin Mountains, along the River Faughan, it is the perfect location for relaxing holidays or long weekend breaks. Please note: we have a one week booking minimum for 24-31st December.
The house is set in an area of great natural beauty, surrounded by the Sperrin Mountains and being located inside Learmount Forest. The Coach House is on the grounds of Learmount Castle, a historic building that has stood in its current form since the early 1800s.
The Coach House is located on the grounds of Learmount Castle, in the centre of Learmount Forest. Secluded, peaceful and far from roads and other housing it is a rare oasis of natural beauty.
  • We chose this house because it was centrally located to all the areas we were visiting. The house was very spacious - plenty of room for 8. The WiFi signal wasn’t great when we arrived, but Brian gave us a signal booster and it immediately improved. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

    Brandi2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely house, clean and well kept, comfy beds. We were really disappointed that neither of the cots we had arranged were available - my sister had to put a mattress on the floor for my nephew, and we had to wait hours for a cot for the baby but it did not have a mattress in it. Also one of the bedrooms has a skylight with no blind so we needed an eye mask! The house itself is great and the lady that we saw was very nice (sorry that I do not your name) but the cot situation was a real hassle and showed bad communication so we would not come again.

    Kiera2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Staying near the castle was a big treat for us Americans, as we have kids who thought this was amazing. It is a beautiful place for relaxing and hiking. Not too far from all the N. Ireland sites & beautiful scenery to drive through. It is beautifully refinished inside with the host staying right next door in case we have any questions. The small town of Park has a little grocery store that is within walking distance if you are up for a good hike. I would recommend this place for a once in a lifetime visit to Ireland.

    Jessica2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to get away and stretch out with a family. Very kind hosts and sweetest dog I've ever met. Wish I could have stayed longer to explore the nature.

    Laura2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were in for a happy surprise when we arrived at the Learmount Coach House. We didn't realize how private snd quiet the location is, at the edge of a lovely dark forest with wonderful walking trails. The forest floor was carpeted in ferns and bluebells and a creek runs through at the bottom of the forest. It is a magical place to walk. Nell, the resident border collie, is the sweetest dog you can imagine, and may accompany you on a walk if you're lucky. The house itself is really marvelously built, with four bedrooms on the second floor, one with ensuite bathroom, and the other three share a very large bathroom. The main floor has a nice and well equipped kitchen, a lounge, and game room with a pool table. If you want a relaxing holiday away from it all( but within 30 min. Of Derry), this house is perfect. The owners are on site and more than helpful if we had questions. We have rented countless houses on vacations and this is probably our favorite.

  • This was the perfect stay. We couldn't have asked for more regarding the accommodations and our hosts. I would highly recommend this airbnb. The home was everything advertised and exceeded all of our expectations.

    Robert2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Merlyn’s house is outstanding. The kitchen is a really good size and has a lounge area with tv. The lounge is enormous and has comfortable seating for 7 people. It was useful to have a separate cloakroom/utility and toilet on the ground floor. The main bedroom is huge and the other two bedrooms are a good size. The house was spotlessly clean and the towels/bed linen were good quality. Marlyn was good with communication. She left us some provisions in the kitchen which were much appreciated. The phone mast was down when we first arrived and Merlyn helped us to contact a taxi. Coagh is very small and peaceful. We ate at Hanover House on our last night and enjoyed the hospitality and meal. Cookstown is about 15 minutes by car and a 6 seater taxi was £8. We will definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the property to anyone.

    Marguerita2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Coagh at Merlyn's lovely cottage by the river. The house was perfect for our large group of 4 adults and 2 kids. The house is exactly as it looks in the photos and is extremely clean. Merlyn very kindly left us breakfast items, as well as, coffee and tea. We would definitely stay in this house again and look forward to our next visit.

    Megan2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, wonderful welcome hamper and fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed and more.

    Amanda2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house had everything we needed. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Best of all was the peaceful location beside a river. Trevor and Merlyn were able to organise a fishing lesson on the river for our son.

    Charlotte2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Merlyn's home is just that! It felt like home from the minute we walked in. It had everything we needed to relax after a long day of travel through Ireland. She had a USB charging station, laundry facilities, an amazing shower, welcome basket of goodies so we didn't need to shop right away, and a great selection of movies for the night when we were too tired to explored and needed to kick back and reorganize ourselves. The location was great for us to spend a day on the North Shore and another day in Belfast. There was room for all five of us to have our own space (important when travelling with teenagers) and comfortable space for us to all sit together and hang out. The setting is picturesque and we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful three day end to our holiday. So grateful for this beautiful home! Thanks, Merlyn!

Brand new country cottage located on the edge of the beautiful Sperrin Mountains yet only 15 minutes from the historic city of Derry and 1 hour from Belfast. Ideal base for hiking, cycling, visiting the Wild Atlantic Way and the Causeway Coastal Route.
  • We had a fabulous and relaxing stay in a brilliant country house. Everything needed for a stay away from home. Very comfortable beds, fluffy towels and a stunning view over the valley.

    Vanessa2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a beautiful setting with stunning views from the kitchen and main bedroom. We loved the big kitchen and lounge. Perfect for us as two families with young children to gather and spend time together. One thing to bear in mind for those wishing to visit the Causeway etc. It's about an hour's drive from there. Not too far but worth bearing in mind if time travelling around is important to you.

Our boat is a beautiful place located on a private lake and with a maximum space of eight people is ideal for private parties (birthdays, stag and hen parties) or just for living a unforgettable experience.
The boat has 2 private rooms (with a double bed each one) and 3 single beds, a fridge and a fireplaces located in the living room.
  • As a group we really enjoyed our pirate ship experience. It’s not a glamorous experience but you are guaranteed to have fun. The boys absolutely loved the Russian sauna and cold Epsom salt bath. Us girls really enjoyed chilling in the jacuzzi. The views across the pond are lovely- this place feels like such a hidden gem. The cleanliness of the ship could be improved - best to bring your own towel and toiletries but for 1-2 night stay we really didn’t care that much as the experience was so unique. Martin the host is an absolute hoot. He was an attentive and friendly host. We will be back!

  • This place is great for a group to get together and have a bit of Craic. Bit hot tub and sauna both indoors with a huge room u can use for a party! Boat is quirky.... And a bit rustic but adds to experience. I brought my friends here for a 30th bday and we had a great day/night.

    Natalie2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Me, my fiance and 3 dogs had a fab time on the boat. We arrived a wee bit early and a guy (didnt get his name) explained everything and where to go and what to do. Martin caught up with us about an hour later. He was so friendly, chatty and informative about the boat and the surrounding area. We had a wee bbq, used the hot tub, fed the horses and just relaxed. Our doggies had great fun just being able to run about and one of them was gutted at having to leave! He really took to the doggies on the property......who are all so friendly. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. Thank you so much Martin.

  • We had an amazing time at George's place and would highly recomend for anyone with young children. Full use of the open farm, soft play and bouncy castles was included in the price and the kids really enjoyed feeding and petting the animals. The staff were all excellent - helpfull, friendly and really good with the kids. Would definately stay here again!

    Craig2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house: George's farm house is delightful to stay in. It is clean and bright, and has amazing views of the countryside from the upper bedroom windows. The eat-in kitchen is warm and inviting and easily accommodated our large family. The two living rooms are separated by doors from the other rooms of the house and afford plenty of privacy when needed. All of the beds are comfortable and the rooms are good sizes. The farm: The farmhouse sits right in the heart of a lovely family fun farm run by George and his family. Children of all ages will love seeing, petting, and even holding a large variety of animals. During our stay there were ducks, chickens, rabbits, meerkats, horses, donkeys, a shetland pony, cows, goats, sheep, lizards, two peacocks and a turtle that we saw. There is also a soft indoor play area for younger children that is available during the Fun Farm's opening hours. The surrounding area: The farm is located just five minutes from Donemana where there are cafes, pubs, and small shops. Strabane is 15 minutes away and has everything else you could need. The Ulster American Folk Park is 35 minutes away, Londonderry is 26 minutes, and the Giant's Causeway is 1 hour and 15 minutes. The host: George is a fantastic host! He is very personable and helpful. He was accommodating when we arrived later than we had originally projected and went out of his way to help us pursue a few of our family roots in that area.

This is a very quiet neighbourhood with beautiful views of Sperrin Mountains and beyond. Very central point from where you can organise your travel plans. 30 minutes into Derry city and all it has to offer or 1 hour to Belfast to Titanic Centre. Beautiful drive along the coast to Benone, Portrush and Portstewart taking in the Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge. If it is cycling holiday you are after this is the ideal location. Cycling routes go from the easy flat route to the more difficult routes over the Sperrin mountains. For the walkers and climbers it is ideal as well. Several small mountains to climb or for the more adventurous climber why not try Sawal or Dart or both. The fisherman could spend the day on the Faughan River where they could catch salmon or trout for dinner. Beautiful 9 hole golf course on our doorstep. Difficult to keep your eye on the ball with the breath-taking views. The village of Park which is one mile down the road has small grocery shop and few pubs which comes to life at weekends. Learmount Forest on edge of village is worth a visit either for leisurely walk or good run.
  • Amazing place! Beautiful views! You’re in the middle of farms etc and a few miles from local shops! Perfect

  • A modern spotlessly clean house that felt very homely. Bernadette has thought of every possible detail, from slippers to freshly baked scones. The house has multiple day rooms and the bedrooms and bathrooms are large and spread out. The view from every room in the house was breathtaking with rolling mountains and sheep to keep you entertained! Bernadette was always available and communicated with us as our week went by. A lovely alternative option staying out of Londonderry- you will not regret it.
