Places to stay in Twentynine Palms
Our modern 600 sqft retreat is nestled on 5 acres of desert land across the mountain ranges of the Joshua Tree National Park, just 15-min drive from the North Entrance. Your own private retreat, the studio is equipped with all the essentials, an over-sized swamp cooler, and a heating system, plus a few perks — gaze under the starry night in our wood-fired hot tub, which also doubles as a cool soak pool by day in the summer, an oversized- covered patio, panoramic views of the desert mountains.
Originally built in the 1970s, the homestead is a newly renovated studio that features a modern kitchen and bathroom, five skylights, a swamp cooler and a heating system. The kitchen is equipped with a 4 range stove with a warmer and full-size oven, as well as a set of pots and pans for your cooking needs. There's a bathtub in addition to the shower in case you want to have a quick soak before bed. The over-sized swamp cooler is more than enough to cool the space even on the hottest days. During the fall and winter months, you can turn on the heating system to keep warm. The Japanese Chofu Wood-fired hot tub is an amazing way to soak in the night skies while immersed in a warm bath. It could also be used as a cooling soak pool during the hot summer days. In the evening it takes 3.5 hours to heat up the 5’ stock tank, but definitely worth the experience — on clear nights during certain seasons, you’ll have an amazing view of the Milky Way from the hot tub! There's also a large covered patio with an outdoor set in addition to a pair of adirondack chairs. A bit further away from the homestead, there is a fire-pit perfect for moon-lit or star-filled nights. A perfect writer's retreat, or romantic getaway!
Located between Sunfair Heights and Desert Heights in the Joshua Tree/29 Palms area, this location is quiet and serene. By day there are sweeping vistas of Indian Cove of the Joshua Tree National Park, and by night the stars! We are just 15 minutes away from the North Entrance of the park.
  • We loved our clean, spacious and stylish space in the desert. Minutes away from Joshua Tree NP entrance but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. Great spot for stargazing from the hot tub- only thing is that wood is relatively expensive in this area, and it takes quite a bit to warm the tub. We loved the comfy bed and the cozy home. Would definitely stay again!

  • Me and my girlfriend stayed here and loved the house and location. It was clean and the views from the house are amazing. Easy check in and check out and host was easy to communicate with. Will recommend to others!

  • Would highly recommend! Great location, peaceful and sparkling clean!

    Erin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The location is remote and beautiful. We especially loved waking up and having coffee on the back patio and looking out over the desert and the mountains. You can’t beat this location or the coziness of the space!

  • Wonderful, light, quiet space

    Dylan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful! An excellent location with beautiful views if you don’t mind driving off road for a little bit. Place was stylish and clean. Absolutely recommend this place.

    Gabriel2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you want peace and quiet in the middle of the desert, then this is your place. And if you’re down to load up the wood fired hot tub for a soak under the moon and stars then it’s even better. My wife and I wanted to get away from Santa Monica for a few days to celebrate our one year anniversary. This place didn’t disappoint. Super chill and not very far Joshua Tree if you want to explore the park for the day. I’m sure we’ll be back.

  • Great Airbnb, would stay again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay near the park.

The charming interior has been designed with a creative space in mind, featuring a hanging chair, record player, telescope and tons of board games! Bring wood and enjoy a fireside chat under the stars.
Quiet Seclusion with views! A space straight out of architectural digest. So close to all attractions but just far enough away to really capture the desert experience. The perfect creative space will have you taking pictures nonstop! Feel free to roam around the property! We have set boundaries using railroad ties. The Joshua tree chalet is truly a place to disconnect, cut the cords and spend time either alone, with a friend or significant other. Enjoy full connectivity via WiFi and Cell phone reception is great! Learn all about this project, see the video tour and my others on the gram @destination_joshuatree
The Joshua Tree Chalet is set in a secluded location so that guests may really capture the desert experience. The site is less than 20 minutes from the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and all downtown attractions.
  • This is one of the best Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed in! The chalet had everything we needed. It was super comfy and very aesthetically pleasing. It has an artsy/bohemian vibe to it, which is right up our alley. We especially loved using the record player and bonfire pit at night. The kitchen had all of the cookware we needed. The AC worked perfectly and the bed was very comfortable (it felt like sleeping on a cloud). The only thing we regret is spending just one night here. Literally everything here was well thought out, from the check-in process to the house manual and all of the decorations. Johnny is definitely a super host! The communication was great, and you can tell he puts a lot of care into providing a top notch experience for guests. Next time we come here we hope to make use of it the bbq and the spa (spa was temporarily out of service). We’re gonna be regulars here! Thanks so much Johnny for your hospitality!

  • Absolutely loved my stay at JT chalet! The house exceeded my expectations and made it the perfect place for a weekend getaway. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor, beautiful home!

    Esther2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Getaway! This was the perfect place to get away for a few days, the views are fantastic and it was very quiet. I really enjoyed how the whole chalet was decorated. Johnny was a great host & was very communicative throughout our stay. The hot tub was a nice added touch! Would recommend for anyone looking to get away and wanting to enjoy the desert in style.

    Kerry2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the chalet! It is beautifully designed, in a great, remote location and it has all the amenities! The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the cooking necessities and everything was super easy to use. We had such a nice time and would highly recommend the chalet to anyone and everyone - we hope to be back soon!

    Zahra2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joshua Tree Chalet was so beautiful! Johnny was very helpful and it was an easy check in process. The bed was so comfy, hot tub was perfect for evenings and location was so peaceful. Lots of nice touches and the decor is amazing!

  • Thank you for an amazing stay! We absolutely loved this Airbnb (gave us lots of interior inspiration!) and it was a lovely, calm space for us to unwind after a busy trip. Check-in was super easy, and the location was just as secluded as we hoped. The whole place was very clean and well kept, and we loved the garden. Would happily come and stay here again.

    Hazel2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great desert escape! Tucked nicely in the hills with great views and amenities, i.e. fireplace, spa, laundry. Would love to stay there again.

    Jonathan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at the JT Chalet, it was one of the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed at. Cute decor and we enjoyed the amenities (grill, fire pit, hot tub). The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware as well as some condiments and spices, so cooking during our stay was easy. And it’s only 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park!

Chocolate Drop Guesthouse is a small cabin perched atop ten pristine acres on one of the highest points in the city of Twentynine Palms, with complete privacy and magnificent views. It is a cozy studio (320 sq ft), with a yummy queen bed and filled with modern amenities: high-speed wifi, TV with streaming video services, new near-full kitchen with full bath. Near all shops and minutes from Joshua Tree National Park, this is a perfect getaway for a solo adventurer or couple.
This is the renovated guesthouse, on the grounds of our main house, set on 10 acres with amazing views and hiking through a boulder-strewn wonderland. There is private parking, and a private entrance - you won't interact with us unless you want to. The house itself is small and cozy (320 sq ft) with a near-full kitchen (toaster oven instead of conventional oven; no microwave) and a spacious bathroom with tub and shower. Mini-fridge holds a couple of days provisions plus drinks. Wireless broadband and smart TV.
The house sits atop a hill near Chocolate Drop, a Hershey Kiss-shaped hill that rises above the rest of Twentynine Palms (the summit of Chocolate Drop is a pleasant and easy hike from the house). At the bottom of the hill is a grocery store and gym; less than five minutes away is downtown and its many restaurants and bars. About seven minutes away is the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park (the good entrance, not the clogged one in Joshua Tree village). Star gazing is stunning here.

We had such a great time staying at this cottage, and the cozy yet clean ambiance of the place really made us feel like we were home for the week. Only a short walk to JTNP, and a great place to come back to after a day of hiking. Loved all the personal touches!

  • A place created with love! We havn't met Mark and Lyanne in person but the communcation was perfect. The self check-in was easy since the explantion was very clear. Lovely place, very nice interior design. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay a lot.... highly recommend it!

    Karina2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Attention fellow travellers wanting to be close to Joshua Tree National Park!! Just around the corner from JTNP north entrance, which is fantastic. Mark & Lyanne were great hosts in that they gave easy and simple instructions and their place is so close and exactly as described! The home is clean, cute and comfy; has a great bedroom setup (our group was a couple & two friends, literally perfect). It was amazing to have the record player which is a very sweet touch, we all sat around both nights after our big days of travel and exploring playing different records and it was sensational! We loved the extras supplied by M&L - shampoo/conditioner/body wash, coffee and spices goes a long way when you’ve been living out of a suitcase and several locations prior to your stay! It’s quiet and everything you need. Loved it!

  • Amazing location and awesome amenities. Makes you feel as if you’re at home.

    Susan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don't do it enough justice. The place is beautifully designed and you can definitely see all the hard work that Mark and Lyanne put into creating this home. We loved using the french press for coffee in the morning and sitting on the hammocks out front. The property is easy to find, extremely close to an entrance gate to JTNP, and a short drive from anything you might need in town. We stayed for the weekend but are already planning our next trip back! Thank you Mark and Lyanne for sharing your place with us 😁

  • We loved our stay at Charmie and Andrew's house -- we enjoyed a great night's sleep, enjoyed the stylish touches of the house and cooking dinners in the kitchen, and loved building fires in the fireplace and looking at the stars at night. Highly recommended!

    Sara2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little home where I stayed with my husband and our pooch. The location was convenient to get to the park and campground which was beautiful. House gets a bit chilly but the wood stove helped keep it cozy in the living room on a few rainy days and I appreciated the directions to get the fire going.

    Darcy2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend stay here if you going to the Joshua Tree National Park. Perfect location between either the Joshua Tree or 29 Palms park entrances. The rental was clean, spacious, and everything was in working order. Great Wifi and with Netflix and Prime connections too. Property listing is factual. Check-in was perfect. Wonderful and fast communications with managers. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Wish we could have stayed longer (3/2-4/20).

    Ann2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Charmie and Aaron was super quick to respond to our questions and accommodate our group! • J.K. is extremely helpful! The place was very cool and very serene. There are other people on the lot, but they didn’t bother us. We wish we could’ve stayed longer.

    Lori2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as expected and described! The location was fantastic as it was close the base and had a nice big backyard for my pup. Very minimalist, but great for a weekend!

    Sara2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, comfortable visit --- cooked half our meals, walked to 29 Palms Inn for dinner, hiked nearby and listened to music on the record player. J.K. was a prompt, efficient communicator, which we appreciated.

    Catherine2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect desert hide-out: great little desk and chair, cool vintage fridge and stove, good reception on the radio console! Simple, quiet and close to J-Tree for down-time and nature highs. Major stars at night, lovely garden (yuccas, fan palms, chollas, cactus wrens, mourning doves…) and views. Good outdoor space to hang, bed was comfy and washer/dryer handy too. JK a great host—definitely will come back!

    Heidi2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little space (although bigger than I expected) to close out the world. It has everything you need for a peaceful getaway, and super close to the North entrance of Joshua Tree and the stores of Twentynine Palms. Extremely comfortable. J.K. was easy to communicate with and super helpful.

Cute & cozy historic homestead cabin in Wonder Valley, CA. The cabin is a separate unit on the same property as host’ home. The cabin has its own kitchen & bathroom with a shower. No bedroom, yet living room sleeps 3 with a pull down Murphy queen bed, plus a twin convertible loveseat sleeper. Has a large private front patio with builtin firepit & bbq. 10 min from JT Nat Pk’s north entrance. Remote location does = spotty WiFi. A way to escape noise & stress. Enjoy quiet beautiful desert views
We call it the Coyote Casita, and it is a quiet secluded space. It could be a writer’s retreat, or anyone’s retreat. The Coyote Casita is a cabin on our property, and is separate to our own home. The Coyote Casita is a simple cabin. It’s not fancy. Staying at the casita is similar to camping in the desert, yet with the conveniences of being indoors, sleeping on a bed , and having running water and heat in the wintertime and a/c in the summer. The views of the surrounding desert are astounding. You can build a bonfire in the fire pit outside on the casita’s private patio. The coyote casita is a historic homestead cabin (approximately 400 sq ft). It doesn’t have a bedroom, yet it has 2 beds (queen & twin) in the living room. Bring your food with you and have a bbq on the patio, or make your own meals in the complete kitchen with stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. There is also cookware, a set of knives and a cutting board. Basic spices and olive oil are also provided. Because of our rather remote location WiFi access is intermittently weak. However, Verizon phone service works well in our area, and it’s been reported to host that there are other phone services that work well, but not all. The casita has easy access off a paved road. The Coyote Casita is an inexpensive simple little place in the desert, with no cleaning or security fees attached to your cost. Host does her own cleaning. If you like simplicity, you’ll like the Coyote Casita. Come relax in it’s quiet simplicity and enjoy our expansive desert views, and dark star-filled nights.
The casita is in the Mojave desert in a very sparse neighborhood of 5 acre original homestead parcels. There are very few neighbors. The casita is 10 minutes from 29 palms north entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Only 5 minutes to the city of Twentynine Palms, CA, which has numerous restaurants, a large supermarket and town also host a casino.
  • The Coyote Casita is located away from the town which makes it a perfect getaway. It's cozy, stylish and cute! Beautiful view of the sunrise from the front porch. Linda is one of the kindest host I've met. She's quick to respond and made sure we felt welcomed and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here (:

    Jasmine2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place is the perfect get away destination for anyone visiting Joshua Tree NP, or looking to get off the map. When we ended up arriving earlier than expected, Linda was communicative and flexible. She had some great tips on things to see and do in the area. The space comes exactly as advertised, and sitting out on the large patio under the stars with a fire was the most relaxed I’ve felt in a long time. Would strongly recommend staying here if visiting the area.

    Andrew2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding!

    Joseph2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place was very nice. It’s quite old and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work properly if you need it but it is very stylish cottage that we liked for one night. The main bed is not that comfortable, the sofa is better :) it’s clean and Linda left few complimentary snacks for us which was very nice. We really liked staying in the desert.

    Veronika2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Coyote Casita was a perfect place to lay our heads after a long day of hiking at Joshua Tree. The location was located 10 min from the 29 Palms entrance of the park, and provided us with magical views of the sunrise, sunset, and stars. Linda was a fantastic host and responded to all of our questions quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

    Christina2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Linda went out of her way to be a great host! Can’t wait to stay with her in the future!

  • This place is just what I was looking for, simple, affordable, convenient location to JTNP & the fire pit & open Parkin under the stars was perfect.

A fantastic 50’s time warp in the middle of a natural oasis in 29 palms. Worth the drive. And if you enter the national park from the 29 Palms entrance, (Utah Trail) it’s even practical. • Make sure you read your emails beforehand! We loved it but we weren’t as prepared as we could have been- not prepared to use fireplace or drive on dirt road but the experience was amazing! So relaxing.

  • Really cute, charming little cabin. We enjoyed our stay very much :)

    Camila2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin was a great choice for our desert getaway. Staying here made us feel like part of the community that calls this place home. The sun does shine bright through the stained glass window, but we were up by the time it did to be able to catch the amazing sunrises which you can't miss. The cabin is well stocked with the universal basic necessities to help accommodate the stay. The bed was a little too stiff for my liking, but other than that we enjoyed our stay. I do recommend to bring your own pillows for a better sleep.

  • We had a bad experience with a different air bnb listing and Wen accommodated us for an extra night! She was very quick to respond and didn’t charge any additional fees. Amazing location, secluded, very close to grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, and the National park. The tiny home was adorable and clean! Thank you so much for being a wonderful host!

5 miles from Joshua Tree National Park entrance, our sweet little desert bungalow has its own private garden and large outdoor spa, which can be used hot or cold. Family friendly and walking distance to town! The home is freshly updated with new AC/heat, unique vintage and designer interior. Large covered back porch, sunroom, BBQ, foosball, wifi, record player, TV etc. Fully fenced, giving you your own peaceful desert oasis to relax in, with the convenience of the city. 2 ADULTS & 2 KIDS MAX
The space has been designed with many local and artisan touches, both vintage and new. The brand new heating and AC will keep you comfortable throughout the year! We have a well-stocked kitchen, sofa bed in the living room, smart TV, record player, and even a 1930's Chevy truck in the back garden. Our vintage spa can be used both hot and cold! Maintained at a cool temperature, it's ready for you to jump in and cool off on a hot day. Just use the jets to heat it up for a nice warm soak. We love our peaceful little retreat, and we hope you will too. We are family friendly, with a huge bed for the parents, and a comfy queen sofa bed for the kids. There’s also a Pack ‘n Play for baby. Although our listing states that we accept 4 guests, this only applies to 2 adults and 2 kids maximum. This is mainly due to a regulation by The City of 29 Palms that states that local Airbnb's can only have 2 adults per bedroom. We can accommodate children in the living room on the pull out sofa bed, and/or toddlers and babies in the pack'n'play.
Very central. Shops and restaurants are just a short walk down the block.

The game room was definitely a bonus. Having the hot tub was also a plus esp after a long day of hiking. We did wish the water got a lot warmer, we only got to use it once or twice. Overall, our stay was very nice and the place felt very homey. I would definitely stay again.

What draws us into the desert is the search for something intimate in the remote. -Edward Abbey The Roadhouse Ranch is a truly unique compound in the heart of the Mojave Desert. Sitting on a quiet 2.5 acres is a 1950's remodeled homestead, a 1960's travel trailer, and a 5000 sq. ft adult playground!
Perfectly designed for a couple looking for a cozy night under the stars or a small group of friends wanting to unwind after a day of exploration. Wake up with your choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate on our comfortable quiet front porch while you watch the sunrise over the mountains. There is also complimentary waffle mix and a waffle iron, so please enjoy! The homestead is set on 2.5 acres with few and far neighbors and beautiful views of the national park. It is an open concept style home with half walls and two barn doors dividing the bedroom/bathroom from the kitchen/living room. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed for two and a flat screen TV. Feel free to search the dvd collection and enjoy a classic movie :) If you're feeling really crazy put down the phones and pick up a pack of our playing cards or one the board games we have in the living room. The couch pulls out to a comfy queen bed and we also have a blow up mattress available for two people. There is a washer/dryer in the bathroom if needed. We are on septic so please nothing but the provided toilet paper down the toilet. Thanks The vintage travel trailer is the true disconnect, for the more adventurous of the group. Set back 150 ft away from the house we wanted the trailer to feel like its own get away. There is no electricity, no water, and no toilet. Just a comfy, warm, smaller twin size bed and a little table to play cards on. If youre over six feet tall youll probably want to stay in the house. You can sit on the front deck, have a little fire, and enjoy the sky. Watch the stars from bed at night and the sunrise in the morning. We will have a complimentary bottle of wine as well as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and waffle mix for our guests. It is a full kitchen minus the microwave. (too much radiation) ; ) There is a bodum, a waffle maker, and a toaster that work perfectly every time! The stove being vintage can be a little hard to perfect the oven temperature but the tops work just fine. If you want to BBQ we have a propane Weber available. Off the back of the house is a private fenced in back yard equipped with lighting for night time and a shade structure for the day time. Enjoy a nice glass of wine at the picnic table, star gaze on the hammock or light a fire in our freestanding mid century fire place. Behind the house is almost a 5000sq ft fenced in adult playground. We have bocce ball, tetherball, horseshoes, corhnole, picnic tables, and a big firepit. Equipped with string lighting for the nightime its a great place for a group of friends to kick back and unwind after a long day. Also we will allow up to two tents to be pitched on our land for an extra fee if needed. (Not to exceed 10 people total) Any photos taken tag #RHRJT so we can enjoy and repost !
The ranch is in Desert Heights, which is slightly more set-back and relaxed than anywhere else in town, with fewer neighbors, fewer people, and less stress. A few abandoned houses in front of the property give it a real desert feel.
  • This home and the property are so beautiful! We had the absolute best time relaxing in the home and exploring its surroundings. We would absolutely recommend this place to others and cannot wait to come back!

  • Delightful desert escape. House is clean and well decorated. Bed is SUPER comfy! Hot tub is an excellent addition. Amazing desert vistas, especially sitting on the front porch drinking some morning coffee.

  • Emily and Joey's place was adorable! Great location with an amazing assortment of tea. Private hot tub, large play area in the back with horse shoes / corn hole, and an amazing view of the hills. It is located very close to Joshua Tree National Park, grocery (Stater Bros.), gasoline, and restaurants!

  • One of my personal favorites! Definitely planning on coming back to this AirBnb. Super clean home with outstanding decor, not to mention the jacuzzi that really helps you relax after long hikes at the nearby Joshua Tree National Park. They also have a back property attached to the home with tons of cool outdoor games and space for a small group to hangout. Very lovely home that definitely contributed to a time-well spent.

    Madison2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the Roadhouse Ranch. It is extremely stylish, comfortable and filled with a ton of nice touches for visitors to the desert. There are hats and umbrellas you can borrow if you need (one of the hats came in handy!), the hot tub is great and such a treat after a long day hiking in nearby Joshua Tree, the backyard has a bunch of fun games like horse shoes and bocce, the wifi works well enough to watch movies, the kitchen is stocked with plenty of dishes/pot/pan/utensils/etc to make a decent meal and it sure is private! It was clean and lovely and I'm already trying to figure out when we can go back. It is an ideal place for a few friends to go and have a chilled out getaway.

    Kate2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Spent our 18 year anniversary here. Great place to stay so much to do with all the outdoor games. We also use the hot tub. Its very peaceful and relaxing. The house is nice up to date in secluded area yet close to Joshua Tree Park. We will be back with the kids. Thank you

    Robert2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We came out to the Roadhouse for the tail end of our honeymoon. It is fantastically remote and a perfect locale if you want to go to Joshua Tree National Park and/or stargaze. The yard games out back are super fun and would be even more of a blast with a larger group (it was just two of us this time). Very cozy interior and insta-worthy!

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thoughtful touches, wonderful amenities! The Roadhouse Ranch is a very clean, stylish and comfortable place to getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. I'll be keeping this one in my favorites for another visit, soon!

You want desert? You got it! Welcome to Feldspar, a homestead from the 1950's that has been transformed into the perfect desert getaway that offers modern conveniences with a retro vintage feel. Here you will have complete privacy.
The home sits on 5 Acres of untouched desert so the last thing you will have to worry about is noise or anyone interrupting your stay. You even get to drive down a dirt road to access the property. Look out the window, sit in the hot tup, or just step outside and you will have an unspoiled panoramic view of amazing sunrises and sunsets. At night you will see more stars than you have ever seen in the night sky. Use my telescope to get a closer look. Proximity. Just 5 minutes from the main entrance to Joshua Tree National Park so you can spend the day exploring the park and come back to a warm shower and the comforts of, well, not camping. Also just 15 minutes from the town of Joshua Tree where you can pick up original desert artwork or grab a great meal at one of many awesome restaurants. You're also a half-hour drive to Pioneertown where you can take in some live music and dancing at the legendary watering hole and Indie Mecca Pappy & Harriets. Comfort. Feldspar has one private bedroom with a Queen-size bed as well as a sofa that makes into a double bed in the living room. This is the perfect place for 2 couples or a small family. Not to worry, there's also a no-frills army style cot for any "fifth-wheels." There's also a fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and gourmet Calphalon pots and pans. So stop by the grocery store or farmer's market in Joshua Tree and load up! Music: There's also an iPod/iPhone 5/6 dock in the bedroom. Movies. A 42-inch flat screen HD TV with a DVD collection featuring some of the classics like Raising Arizona, Spinal Tap and The Big Lebowski just to name a few. Board Games. That's right. Monopoly, Scrabble, Dominos and UNO! Most importantly, breathe in the fresh air, soak up the sun and enjoy yourself. You are "getting away" after all. Still have questions? Just ask. Always happy to answer.
There are no close by neighbors.
  • Suzanne and Pablo's place was great. Simple, but dug the retro/musical touches to the place. Soaking in the hot tub under the sky full of stars was simply amazing! The place is totally secluded, clean, bed was comfortable, we had a bit of fun exploring some of the old abandoned places nearby, and was just a short drive to the Twentynine Palms entrance to Joshua Tree National Park for some hiking and rock climbing. Would definitely stay again!

    Greg2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Hot tub under the stars (if there’s no overcast...) with minimal internet connectivity (can’t stream through WiFi but if you have service you can use your data) - if you’re looking for a remote getaway, this is it!

    Leah2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Suzanne’s place was awesome. Looked just like it did on the listing, there were tons of towels and the kitchen was well equipped for a night of cooking. Would definitely stay here again.

    Tito2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in relation to Joshua Tree National Park, which was our primary destination! Awesome to have a private hot tub after the sun went down and a long day of hiking.

    Stephanie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • a lovely place in the middle of the desert

    Falon2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean and trendy looking place to stay. Pillows to spare :) Bed was super comfy and the living room setup made for a cozy movie night. 10/10 would come again especially if you are looking for peace and quiet with great stargazing opportunities(we saw 2 shooting stars!!!)

    Alejandra2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Feldspar was perfect for my weekend trip to Thousand Palms! The location was conveniently located to hike at Joshua Tree but still enjoy the amenities of home after a full day of exploring the park. Such a stylish home, sparkling clean, and exactly as described!

    Laura2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cute place! We went here for a birthday getaway and were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Very close to the park (and it's the entrance to little/no traffic which was fantastic). Suzanne was a great host. She was very quick to answer any questions we had! Heating was definitely sufficient. The room stayed nice and warm the whole time, and the rest of the house stayed pretty warm as well. Lots of throw blankets to cozy up with at night. It's a very quiet and private place. I heard literally nothing while staying there and it was so peaceful. Pro tip: The stars are AMAZING! Make sure you hang out in the hot tub at night and do some star gazing. 🌌⭐️

  • Thoughtful, safe, clean and comfortable. Great getaway near Joshua Tree north entrance in 29 Palms.

    Jonathan2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing! It was super close to the Joshua Tree which was convenient. The place was clean and had everything you could want. I would definitely stay there again!

    Kayla2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Serrano's place. If you're looking to spend some time in Joshua Tree National Park, this location is perfect. The space was cute and very clean too!

    Gayle2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Easy, simple, clean spot to stay in while visiting Joshua Tree--all while having easy access to the less busy secondary entrance.

    Jacob2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! It was our first time to visit Joshua Tree Natl Park and we were super close to an entrance and all of the fun things that the town of Joshua Tree has to offer. Very quiet neighborhood, super clean and stylish house--no complaints!

    Cambria2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I frequent the Joshua tree area quite often, and this was my first stay in 29 Palms. It’s a very cool place, clean, trendy, etc., but location too me was a little too far out from all the action JT has to offer. I’m used to being more secluded away from neighbors not so close by. Maybe if you’re looking to spend more of your time at the national park this is a better fit for you.

    Alex2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tremendous location convenient to the USMC base as well as Joshua Tree. The property is a very inviting and attractive space. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

    Eric2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Super close to the park, so stylish and adorable. My one tiny complaint was that the couch wasn’t very comfy, but luckily the beds were sooo comfy so it was alright.

  • The sunset Adobe was literally the most exquisite Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at! The most well curated to give you just the right vibe to relax at a home away from home and be in the mood to be ready to adventure and explore. Really close to JTNP entrance. Was a perfect stay for us! The kitchen was fully stocked so we had an amazing home cooked brunch as well in the immaculate pottery!

  • Lovely house overlooking the high desert, in a secluded part of town. Sits literally at one of the Park entrances, and easy to get into town. Hosts were great and everything I needed was handled professionally. It's great to be able to relax, not feel like your staying "in someone's home".....bring your own creative vibrations, then rest is up to fate. Cindy and DIana help me be present. Thank you.

  • cute house cute house in a great location. 10 minutes to Joshua Tree National Park and 6 minutes to Tortoise Rock Casino. There are some good bars and places to eat in town. Shout out to The Virginian, Johns Place, and edchada's. This house is nice and quiet. It was a perfect space for two people and I wouldn't recommend more than four for comfort. The air is great and The View at Sunset is magnificent

    Tom2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great decor and space, well placed amenities. Lovely view of the sunset from the front and back yards! Short drive to the park too.

    Alisa2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a cute and cozy space. It had everything we needed and was super close to Joshua Tree park. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting the area.

Two rustic, no frills homestead cabins on 5 acres in a great area. Main cabin is your sleeping cabin. Second cabin a few steps away is your bathroom cabin. About 1.4 miles (as the crow flies) to the Indian Cove entrance station. Short drive to either 29 Palms or Joshua Tree entrance to the Park. Private, yet easy access to amenities in either JTree or 29 Palms. Nice old west vibe with great views and lots of privacy! An authentic desert experience!!
Update: With things being so scary and crazy with the corona virus, please note that my house cleaners are taking every precaution to disinfect all surfaces, door knobs, and other common areas prior to new guest check-in. Bedding and towels are freshly laundered. Local restaurants are likely only open for takeout, and stores and local attractions may be closed. But we are all encouraged to walk outside and get exercise (while keeping appropriate social distancing). I can't image a better place for extended walks and hikes than Joshua Tree National Park! I've also had guests ask if they can use Twin Tanks to "shelter in place". As long as you are symptom-free (no signs of upper respiratory infection) and no recent exposure, you are welcome to stay! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rustic, authentic desert experience! Original 1950's homestead cabin (12' x 16') with queen bed, kitchen sink and counter-top with microwave, toaster oven, and under-counter refrigerator. Second cabin (12' x 16', and just a few steps away) was built to match the style and feel of the original homestead, and contains shower, toilet, sink, and full-sized refrigerator. You will have sole access to both cabins during your stay. Both cabins have electric baseboard heaters to keep you warm in the winter and evaporative cooling ("swamp" coolers) to keep you comfortable in the summer (please ask owner prior to using swamp coolers to be sure they are on and functional). Twin Tanks Homestead will provide a comfortable rustic experience, but be advised: No TV, no internet, no stove or oven. I want to provide the most accurate description I possibly can so you can plan accordingly and have a great experience! Unless you can make it in a microwave, toaster oven or outdoor BBQ, you will likely need to pack in your own food or eat out. There is a 12-cup Mr. Coffee, ground coffee, and creamer provided (Note: Please remember to turn off the coffee maker, as there is no automatic shutoff). Dishes and utensils provided. I'm still working on this property and you can expect it to improve over time. There is a nice deck off an old vintage trailer which you are welcome to use (the deck, not the trailer!). There's a backyard patio area with a fire ring and lighting over the deck (just plug in the lights and unplug when you are done). Please do not use the fire ring if it's windy due to the fire danger. There are two old water tanks on the property (used back in the day before city water was available) and an old GMC truck. There is also an old trailer that I am in the process of fixing up. If you enjoy photography, these items will provide some great backgrounds for your pics! From the property you will enjoy great views of Copper Mountain and the Marine Base to the north, and Joshua Tree/Wonderland of Rocks to the south.
When I first started coming out to this area, I was (and still am) so impressed that a short 2-hour drive from suburbia and you feel like you are on another planet!! So completely different, rural, quiet, dark starry nights, and big open desert views. And even with a strong feeling of being very remote and private, you are a short drive east or west on Hwy. 62 to grocery stores, restaurants, and other conveniences. Kind of the best of both worlds!
  • Despite the circumstances, (COVID-19),Peter,s place was an amazing escape. Great home with amazing host❤️ I will definitely come back😊

    Cristal2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location, excellent views, great value. Twin Tanks immerses you in the desert and helps you take a break from the real world. We had a wonderful stay!

    Stephanie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful place right next to Joshua Tree National Park!

    Joseph2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Better than I expected, beautiful cabin with lots of privacy even though there are houses nearby. This is an excellent choice for exploring Joshua Tree and the surrounding towns. We were able to let our big dogs roam free outside with plenty of space between us and the neighbors. The views are excellent.

    Anna Liisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I just stayed a week at the Twin Tanks and loved every moment. Beautiful outdoor and indoor space, and a very authentic Joshua Tree vibe with lots of artistic touches. Convenient to everything, yet private. Very highly recommended!

  • Second time staying here and really enjoyed our stay. Peter is an excellent host

    Alfredo2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Peter’s place was an absolute dream. It’s a beautiful property that is close enough to 29 Palms and the park that it’s easy to feel immersed, but far enough away that you feel like you have your own little spot in the desert.

    Fern2020-02-11T00:00:00Z

White Moon Ranch is a 3 bed 1 bath 1955 Homestead Cabin on 5 acres. Located 23 minutes from the EAST Oasis entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and 26 minutes to Joshua Tree Village. Designed for dreamers and slow living, enjoy midnight moon-escapes, pink sunsets and star filled nights at our modern retreat. Bunnies and road runners hop along the dunes, read a book or pass a lazy day in a hammock or hanging chair. Dream, create, dine and make timeless memories w/ family and friends.
Instagram @WhiteMoonRanch Yes, The Cowboy Pool is open for 2020! Woohoo! You'll receive instructions upon check in on how to fill and empty it! White Moon Ranch is located in rural Joshua Tree. Nestled near government land, you'll enjoy expansive desert views to the east and west in the quiet heart of rural living. We've hand designed this space, up cycling treasures found on property, bringing inside natural elements and decor. White Moon Ranch is a unique blend of rural Joshua Tree, modern clean Scandinavian design and COZY! Nearly all the lights in the house have dimmers and Edison light filament for you to create amazing evening ambiance. Our kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cooking oils and dishes. Every room is insulated, has a locking door, and brand new modern heating & cooling units for your comfort! If your looking for a downtown location or if the dates you want here are booked, we would recommend our sister property: White Cactus House (airbnb.com/h/whitecactushouse) which is in the heart of Downtown Joshua Tree, two small blocks from Joshua Tree Saloon (sleeps four). This home was originally build in 1955 as a Homesteader Cabin, 1.5 miles down a dirt road you'll be met with incredible views to the east and west, quiet, recharging landscapes await you. Magic, large harvest moons and crazy amazing stars fill the night skies. Catch butterscotch sunrises, sip drip coffee or plunge in the cowboy pool to cool off. (Closed November - March). Wildlife is abundant here, bunnies, hares, hawks and roadrunners stealing across the desert dunes. Periwinkle and pink sunsets will paint the sky to give the desert it's famous 'golden hour' glow while you spin records by our mid century fireplace. A private upcycled 18 hole miniature golf course inspired by Noah Purifoy museum and two desert bowling lanes we created are yours to laugh and make memories playing. Create your own 5 star meal in our giant fully stocked kitchen and dine using our indoor or outdoor dining room. Whisper stories while you lounge around the fire pit, listen to birds chirp and play in giant creosote bushes, soak or splash in the cowboy tub to cool off. Grab our book on stars and study constellations brighter then you've seen in years. *Note the garage suite is fully insulated, with locking doors and it's own brand new AC / heating unit! You'll love it! The main house has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The third bedrooms is detached with a master suite about 10 steps / feet from the main house. Each bedroom and the master suite has it's own HVAC to temperature control to the degree how much ice cold AC or toasty warm heat you'd like. This set up works well for a group of friends, three couples, or families. When the weather is nice, the entire south side of the master garage suite can open giving the space a really amazing indoor / outdoor vibe! (It's my favorite place at the ranch!) There are external string lights around the entire house and garage which are on a dimmer for you to brighten, create mood lighting or turn off. The house has curated light fixtures also entirely on dimmers which means you can curate serious mood lighting in nearly every room! Spin an old jazz record, pour yourself a drink from our vintage inspired bar cart while you bask in ambiance and an ode to simpler times. Our shower has a large window gazing east to partake in some incredible shower views! But, if you prefer privacy, there is a pull down shade - do whatever makes your experience feel good!
If you're looking for wide open spaces, desert views, that rural JT vibe and 5 acres of open SPACE to call your own... this is the place! Nestled on the edge of a rural neighborhood with 5 acre lots, you'll love the open feel, open skies and the starry views from the ranch. Total "off grid" feels (1.5 miles down a dirt road) while being completely "on grid" with ALL the modern amenities! White Moon Ranch is located 26 minutes from Joshua Tree Village and 23 minutes from National Park's EAST Oasis entrance. (Insider Tip: Beat those long JTNP lines by going in the EAST entrance! The west entrance is an additional 20 minutes away and you'll likely be in traffic the last few miles to the park.) Nestled near government land, you'll see wildlife and experience pink sunrises and sunsets in the peaceful quiet only the desert experience can bring. Look for 2 of our favorite wildlife buddies, "Speedy" and "Mohawk" -a pair of roadrunners who frequent the property while hunting bugs and lizards.
  • StevieAnn and Adam’s house is the perfect place to relax and unwind. It’s sparkling clean and super comfortable. We spent hours in the backyard listening to the birds and watching bunnies and butterflies. And if you’re hesitant to book because of privacy issues, there is just one camera at the front door to monitor the driveway! There are no cameras in the house or backyard.

  • White moon ranch is a great little escape from our busy normal lives. The ranch is spacious and comes with a fully stocked kitchen and really nice touches around the house. Sunrise and sunset views are to die for and enjoy a really nice and quiet atmosphere. The backyard has activities for you to do and really allowed for my friends and I to spend quality time together without normal distractions like a TV. I would recommend and come back to this spot for sure!

    Becca2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place to enjoy the desert! The house is perfect, comfy beds, sweetly decorated, fun records, chemex for coffee (personal favorite), clean and quiet. It was off season for the outdoor tub during our visit but that would be an incredible place to watch sunset with a glass of wine. Plus only 25 minutes to Joshua Tree Park entrance! We will definitely be back!!

    Winona2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this beautiful desert oasis last week!! I cannot recommend this property enough-The serenity of this property was the perfect end to our busy Disney vacation. The kids loved the outdoor space including the golf course & bowling lanes. The proximity to Joshua Tree National Park also allowed for a great hike during our stay! Hope to be back sometime soon :)

    Kathryn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and clean. A lot of people will love the decor. Tons of space to roam. I would be aware of a few things: early check out at 10 am, close to a military base so when we were there there was a lot of explosive, loud action, didn't trip us up but definitely could be bad for someone who might be sensitive to that. Also don't love the security camera vibe, but I guess I get why people do that. Other than that, it was definitely a dreamy and comfortable space. And they were very accommodating with a late request.

    Mary2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot - highly recommend

    Fiona2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures cannot depict how beautiful this location really is. Aside from the beautifully insane night sky, white moon ranch was truly magical. The ambiance was set by the gorgeous white decor and the lights. Unforgettable night with unforgettable views.

    Karen2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • StevieAnn has one spectular, sparkling clean, private, chic home! It's a great well-thought-out space for just chilling or entertaining. Remotely located in between Joshua Tree and 29 Palms, it's an easy twenty minute drive to either entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. We were in awe of the sunsets and sparkling stars at night. The two kids loved playing miniature golf and using the bowling lanes, and exploring the extensive outside property and traces of wildlife. Definitely recommend a stay at this sanctuary! Thanks for the easy, breezy stay!

The hot tub is lovely with a view of the desert valley. The kitchen is very user friendly with a wide range of pots n pans. Everything was great!

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Rancho Deluxe. It was conveniently located to both entrances of Joshua Tree National Park and was a great place to come back to and relax after long days hiking. The hot tub under the stars was a very nice perk. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a great spot to call home while exploring Joshua Tree!

  • Our quick trip to the desert was made even more enjoyable because of our stay at Rancho Deluxe.. Thanks to the simple decor, record collection, hot tub and close proximity to both entrances to JTNP. PS. We made several trips to Street tacos in 29 Palms, authentic and delicious!

The home is situated on 5 acres of gorgeous desert scenery between Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms. Go for a long hike, mountain climbing, and biking across the scenic trails all around before grabbing a tasty bite at one of the local restaurants.
  • Our stay at moonglow couldn’t have been better. The property itself is fantastic, and all the amenities (jacuzzi, chiminea, croquet etc) were in perfect order. We had an absolute blast here, and will definitely be coming back as soon as we can! As for Zack, he was an incredible host. He gave us tons of suggestions for things to do (which we followed, and had a great time doing), and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Stay here! You won’t regret it.

    Raj2020-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Moonglow Ranch is the perfect desert getaway ! Secluded and private but close enough to all your needs so you can get back to the warmth of the chiminea or enjoy a floating stargaze in the hot tub ! Make the most out of your stay by personalizing your experience with the abundance of options - whether it’s a cozy campfire and card games night with family and friends, maybe a hike right from your front door collecting beautiful rocks and spotting wildlife, or play your favorite album and have the romantic escape with your loved one amidst the breathtaking skyline. Let Moonglow Ranch be the setting for all your enjoyment! Bring the pup and know you’re in great hands with Zack the owner and the magic which is the Moonglow Ranch!

  • One of the best Airbnb’s we’ve ever stayed at! Highly recommend

    Joey2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb was pretty cool! As you go on this dirt road, you see the cabin in all of it's glory. The view is spectacular, and the inside is perfectly styled and designed. Zack was easy to get in touch with and wanted to make sure our needs were met. This is a great place to stay for your Joshua Tree visit!

    Liz2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect 3 night stay. Great place to stay to visit Joshua Tree National Park. We appreciated the hot tub after our daily long hikes. Moonglow Ranch is well appointed with everything you need to feel at home, with the cosiest sheets and stunning views right from the bed. We will definitely return!

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Moonglow ranch is the perfect getaway. Located really near Joshua tree national park and so secluded you really feel like you’ve escaped. Welcome to The Cloud Inn! Hosted now by an experienced Super Host! A secluded retreat 2 bedroom 1 bath house 8 minutes north of beautiful Indian Cove. A newly renovated pre-fabricated house sits on 3 acres of desert land. You can see the faraway military base out from the front porch. You will witness the sunset and sunrise play their magic on the mountains right across the plain. Feel the desert magic here in the middle of nowhere and seriously do nothing:)
The house is an 800 sqft pre-fabricated home. It is well insulated with Central Air.Cool in the desert summer and warm during the colder months. There are plenty of silverware, cookware, plates, mugs, glasses for a group up to 6 people. We also have basic cooking supplies such as salt, pepper, oil. Towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner are provided. Bring your family and friends, yes the little ones too. Watch the sun rays dance across the plain onto the mountains and retreat into the burning clouds. The furniture and murals are mostly hand made by me your host Wen. Come take a breather from the city life and watch the earth turn. Time does not sit still here, it displays itself. There are queen beds in both bedrooms with very comfortable sheets and mattresses. One of the bed room is large and the other one is small. You can take the couch cushion and turn it into a floor mattress. There is an outdoor fire-pit, please bring some firewood if you'd like to set up a camp fire( highly recommended ). There is a picnic table, and an outdoor couch on the shaded porch, great place to spend some time and do nothing. the previous owner is a marine Sergeant for the easy drive to the base. The house is 0.75 mile away from a paved road. The smallest car that have made it her so far is a Toyota Yaris. Drive slowly please, to be polite to the desert neighbors and be gentle to your car. It is a easy desert dirt road drive. A car is needed to get around.
  • Wen's place was so cute and stylish. Perfect for a quick getaway. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who needs a remote area of the desert to relax and replenish your energy. Thank you for the late checkout request. Much appreciated!

    Kathy2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we thought it would be and more. Super clean and the kitchen was fully stocked, we came prepared with tons of food to cook — wen literally had everything we need. Loved the seating area outside like the couch and the meditation hut out in the yard! Easy to find house with easy keyless entry. Bright open space! Very spacious and homey! The mattresses were incredibly comfortable. About 20-30 mins away from town which was also really nice as a getaway from everything. Despite there not being any WiFi or a tv, we had fun time bonding and played board games we brought. I think considering there isn’t a digital entertainment system or anything a Bluetooth speaker or more board games would have been nice. We had come prepared, but maybe for those that weren’t as prepared would have been at a loss.

    Nicolette2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a few days to visit Joshua Tree National Park and enjoyed it. The house is conveniently located to the park and was a nice place to come back to after a day in the desert. Wen was also very nice and responsive, even when we ended up having to cut short our reservation last minute due to severe weather.

    Cailin2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay when planning a trip to Joshua Tree National Park. The host provides all amenities one would have in their own home, from cooking utensils to condiments. Wen is prompt and efficient when responding to any questions or concerns. The bedding and rooms are very clean and comfortable, but you'll hardly want to sleep with such beautiful surroundings, both indoors and out. It's conveniently close to the north entrance of the park and all of your local needs are just minutes away. The pictures don't do the artsy vibe justice. If you're a content creator or photographer this is the place for you.

    James2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place. It was really quite and relaxing and not having wifi was actually a nice opportunity to escape our busy lives. It is really close to Joshua tree park. I highly recommend following Wen’s suggestions on what roads to take in. We didn’t do that. Most of the dirt roads are pretty rough and we ended up being on them much longer then we could have been. And the art work inside is beautiful!

    Christoph2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so amazing! Wen is an incredible host! The spot was stylish, the energy of the home was so refreshing! Location great! Very close to the Joshua tree entrances! Can’t wait to stay here again!

    Audrey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely and rejuvenating getaway spot. Cool art in and around the house. Very clean and quiet with beautiful views and easy access to Joshua Tree park.

    Gabe2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute home located out in the desert. The place has a lot of artistic flair. We didnt get to spend too much time at the house since we were in the park for most of the day, but it was cozy. You do get a beautiful view of the sunrise from the front window, which is really nice . I would say to get to the house before the sun goes down because its located off the paved road and there arent any street lights, so its tricky in the dark.

  • Devyn and Hope’s place is a charming little spot! A great place to rest and hang out for the evening after a long day out and about. The place was clean and had everything you need and more (even board games and a hot tub!). The location was perfect for exploring Joshua Tree NP and the town of Twenty Nine Palms. We were three female travellers in Joshua Tree for the first time, and felt extremely safe at this property. Will highly recommend! Thanks, Devyn + Hope for an amazing time!

    Karina2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing. It was sparkling clean and the host let us check in early cause our plans had changed and my kids and I had no where to go. The hot tub was amazing and then we enjoyed a night of playing retro Monopoly by the fire. Definitely recommend this place for families.

  • Devyn + Hope’s home is lovely. Very spacious and stylish. Great location - walking distance to restaurants/town! Communication was easy and they responded very quickly. I would definitely stay there again!

*** Due to Covid 19, we are taking additional efforts to further clean our home for each guest. We've increased our cleaning fees to represent this effort *** ***Home previously had 147, 5 Star reviews.*** New owner, same experience. Cook in a sparkling white kitchen and dine at a knotty wood table within this lovely cabin with concrete floors and nice furnishings. After a day of exploring Joshua Tree, lie in a hammock while surveying distant mountain landscapes in a yard with a fire pit.
Welcome nature lovers and desert adventures. This cabin is the perfect place to feel a million miles away, star gaze and rest after a day hiking the park. Our goal is to provide a simple low carbon footprint cabin for travelers and maybe even a chance to unplug. This is a cabin in the High Desert on dirt road. Treat the property as if it was your own. Dogs must be discussed before your stay.
The home is set on 5 acres of secluded land with desert and mountain views. Joshua Tree National Park is a 20-minute drive away.
  • I LOVED my stay at this charming little cabin in the middle of the desert! You can see San Gorgonio Mountain from the front door, and if you go for a walk on the dirt roads around the house, you aren’t likely to bump into another soul. From lizards to coyotes to hares, I had all kinds of incredible wildlife sightings right from the backyard, and the sunsets and sunrises were amazing. From bathroom amenities to a fully loaded kitchen (good local coffee and a French press!) to yoga mats to a hammock, this light, bright little casa has it all. Very quiet area, and perfect for folks looking to get away from noise and crowds. Kyle is quick to reply and very helpful; truly the perfect host. I can't recommend this place enough, and will definitely stay here again!

    Elisabeth2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • We are very happy to stay at Kyle’s place for two nights. What beautiful sunsets and starry sky we saw. Also we saw wild cute rabbits. And so quiet there, husband and I love it! The cabin is very cozy and stylish. We especially liked the record player there. We absolutely recommend Kyle’s place!

    Ahastasiia2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t say enough about this location. My husband and I stayed at this cute, private, perfectly secluded cabin. We loved that the location was close to Joshua Tree and Pioneertown but far enough away to feel like we were on our own. The space itself is clean and has all you would need for the getaway. The furnishings and little details made the stay fun as we always found something new around the corner. The hosts gave perfect instructions and were quick to respond if any question was asked. My husband and I absolutely loved the place and really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

    Cindy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I love every moment there! I live in a crowded DTLA area, so being able to bring my dog with me to an open space is heavenly. The entire yard in fenced in, so my pup can run around (under supervision) as much as she wants! The interior is beautiful! I love how everything has the DIY vibe and it honestly feel very comfortable and just like home. The concrete floor is super nice and so easy to clean (dog is a messy eater) and that AC was amazing!! It's 20 mins out from the main shops area of JT, but it's fine, as the stars were so much clearer at night since there weren't much light around! Also 20 minutes from the east entrance of the Park! Super close to Skull rock and Jumbo Rock playground! One of the best airbnb I've been at! Thanks Kyle!

  • This space is beautifully minimal, perfectly remote and the one of the best parts of our whole visit.

    Polina2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Do yourself a favor and book this beautiful, serene spot now. We had the most relaxing, tranquil weekend here. The light pours in from all sides and puts on such a stunning show at dawn and dusk. We loved just hanging out on the back benches and taking in the scenery. The whole place was tastefully decorated with great little personal touches. We felt right at home here and cannot wait to return.

    Jaclyn2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Entire place was really nice and the hosts (Kyle & Jenny) are so accommodating. We appreciate their quick response and very considerate! The location is not hard to get in and it is also near Joshua Tree Park! Will 100% recommend!

    Abigail2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • So worth it! Feels secluded/private but not middle of nowhere. Quiet, clean and comfortable. Easy access to 29 Palms and Joshua Tree. Toiletries, kitchen supplies (plus local coffee!) and vinyl on point. Great for a couples weekend away from LA.

The house is perfect for a couples escape, or a small group getting away form it all. There are no close neighbors, and the house is very easy to access by any car with gorgeous views of the National Park mountains all around. It's truly a one of kind desert experience, a connection with the planet and the skies :) The house is wonderfully situated - less than 10 minutes east of the Joshua Tree town, the perfect combination of easily accessible, quiet and serene.
The house is such an experience to sleep/wake up in. It's as close to a home on Mars as we'll (likely!) ever get. The home has a glorious desert covered dining area with views of the National Park. Historic house tucked away at the foothills of an amazing private landscape, reimagined as a getaway vacation space. It is one of the most private/secluded yet easily accessible locations available in Joshua Tree. Just a few minutes east from town, the house's location provides accessibility to all the tourist spots and is privately secluded to enjoy a Joshua Tree experience with nature. Nestled between a gorgeous hillside and the Indian Cove rock formations, the location is truly one of a kind. The house was built in the 50's, making it one of the original structures out here. While fixing the place up, we tried to modernize it but stay true to some of the old character you cannot create. There are 3 bedrooms with queen sized beds, 2 in the main house and one is the satellite original cabin. The couch is a large 8ft by 6ft L shape, with mattress-grade high density foam cushions. The mini auxiliary cabin is an original structure turned into a satellite 3rd bedroom for additional guests. The cowboy pool or 'cowboy cool dip' is 6ft by 2ft high (dips not laps!), it is not heated. The house has an evaporative cooler (really great eco-friendly cooling devices that only work in low humidity regions), a brick charcoal grill by the pool, wifi, a 55 inch 4k TV with Netflix and HBO, a fully stocked kitchen with all you would need to cook (olive oil, spices, coffee, tea) as well as fresh linens and towels. All photography & commercial use must have written permission before booking property.
The house is conveniently located a half mile on a well maintained dirt road off route 62 and less than 10 minutes to the Joshua Tree village. It sits at the foothills of a gorgeous mountain range, with views of Indian Cove and the National Park. It's located right in between the Park's West and East Entrances with easy access to everything, by any car!
  • ryan’s place was... amazing. the house —spotless and airy, with little touches that make you feel like you’re in a hotel, but one made with love. the location — perfect, if you want a slight desolate feel but with enough fun/necessary shops/bars to drive to not too far away. ryan — was so helpful. ours plans changed last minute due to covid-19 and my boyfriend needed to fly back early, but because of flight cancellations we needed a place to stay two more nights yadda yadda, ryan was so understanding and helpful; he is so kind. really helped us out! thank you man!! though everything is sh*t right now in the country, this was a serendipitous trip nonetheless. this place is magical. though at times I felt I was gunna get abducted by aliens, but that may be because I’m from nyc and not used to desert sounds aha. anyway, I digress, stay here, you won’t regret it. stop reading the damn review and book already!

    Shea2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for our group of 6. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, outdoor grill and fire pit, and very close to Joshua tree park. The interior is very well designed and cozy as well. We loved our stay. Ryan was very accommodating and understanding about our late check out request. 100% recommend this place.

    Parmis2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fun and memorable stay at Ryan's house. He was very responsive and accommodated our requests. Conveniently located for the National Park and the restaurants and bars in Joshua Tree town.

  • Spent the night here after a day of hiking at JTree. Place is clean and stylish, photos are accurate. Wish it was a little closer to the park, but not that big of a deal, maybe a 15 min drive from park entrance.

    Matthew2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place is gorgeously decorated and very cozy. It was pretty isolated and incredibly serene. It’s definitely a good place to come and get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The details he gave us were very useful and he made everything easy. Communication was very great! Overall, great first time experience with AirBnB! Would definitely recommend this place!

    Cintia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and pretty, you can get anything you need there. Ryan is soooo nice, he will send you a very detail email to make sure you find the house correctly. It was so nice to stay there for my trip in Joshua Tree.

Our amazing space is an open-plan 1-bedroom cabin set on 5 acres of California desert land. We are situated very close to the towns of Joshua Tree & 29 Palms. Our cabin is surrounded by sand which makes the experience of staying here extra special – especially if you live or work in a (concrete) town or city, you will feel like you are a million miles away while you relax in this quiet, peaceful and calming place. We have amazing uninterrupted views of Joshua Tree National Park and we are just 20 minutes (approximately) from both the West & the North park entrances! Tip – the 29 Palms entrance has far less traffic. A soak in a hot tub gazing at the stars is a perfect way to spend any evening, but with a sky unpolluted by city lights, the stars look even more spectacular and make every evening extra special! You will also witness daily the most dazzling sunrise and sunset. We are passionate about organic and eco-friendly and we try to incorporate this as much as we can; we have upcycled items and we have reused items for inside. For our guests we provide a welcome pack of basic food & drink supplies to tide you over. Our bed-linen and bath towels are organic and we also provide organic toiletries.
We are located between the towns of Joshua Tree and Twenty nine Palms which makes visiting Joshua Tree National Park super easy as we are between the 2 main entrances! TIP: Use the North Entrance when visiting the National Park as there are less cars entering this way, will save you a lot of time!
  • This place was amazing! The host was so quick to respond, with a welcome note and even a welcome on the board as soon as you come in. They had everything you would need and more. The Nespresso coffee machine was addicting lol! We came to visit nearby Joshua tree but seriously decided to cut it short and just enjoy the house, the hut tub and the music that plays throughout the house!

  • David & Manny's place in Joshua Tree was perfect for ducking out of LA for a weekend. The house is well-equipped, with Sonos speakers and lighting adjustable by remote. Nice and clean, also intuitive, amenities right where you'd expect to find them. My wife and I had the best time and felt good being there, I'd recommend for any couple looking for some space to connect in a positive environment.

    Phil2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The organic retreat is so much more than just a place to rest, it's truly a space designed to relax and recharge. We were so impressed with all of the thoughtful attention to detail—the mood lighting, aromatherapy, and music set up is unlike any other place I've stayed. It was so nice to start and end each day in the backyard with the hot tub, fire pit, and hammocks. David and Manny are excellent hosts. They were welcoming, responsive, friendly, and offered great recommendations. One word of caution: Because the location is more remote, the roads are unpaved (which they let us know ahead of time). We managed the drive in a Honda Fit, but if we return, would highly consider driving a 4WD or AWD. Overall it was wonderful stay and we wish we could have stayed longer!

  • The stars!!! We loved our stay.

  • David and Manny are amazing hosts who go that extra mile. Communication was fast and they were flexible with our check-in and check-out times. They gave us a warm welcome to their cabin, which was full of little details that made our stay a wonderful vacation. The place is conveniently located about 20 minutes away from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park and a few bars, but it still feels like you are in the middle of the dessert. You will love staring at the stars from the hot tub at night.

Joshua Tree National Park - The house is located in a short 20 minute drive to the entrance of National park. The park entrance fee is $30 for the day/week or $55 for an annual pass. There are some free entrance days so be sure to check the website for these dates. Noah Purifoy Exhibit - An outdoor art exhibit is located 10-15 minutes away and is a must see for all art lovers. His installations have been in galleries across the country and this exhibit is a true testament for his amazing work. The Integratron - This is an unforgettable sound experience for those seeking deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Sound baths are by appointment only by online booking or phone. Integratron is located about 20 minutes away and worth every minute. Landers Brew Co - If you are looking for a great dive bar and a good beer, surrounded by beautiful desert scenery, LBC is the spot. With a friendly bar staff and great selection of drafts and bottles, you can't go wrong. Definitely a must for beer lovers. The 20 minute drive is well worth it to enjoy a beer on the patio or listen to some local live music. MUSIC FESTIVALS: This house is a great place to stay if you're coming to Joshua Tree for the Guitarfish Music Festival, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Coachella, Stagecoach, and many more due to it's central location and backyard amentities for entertaining. The restaurants in Joshua Tree are amazing. Crossroads Cafe: Great little cafe right in town with good options for breakfast, lunch or dinner (our favorite for breakfast for sure!). There is something for everyone on their menu, even quite a few vegan/vegetarian options. Highly recommend! Natural Sisters Cafe: Great for a healthy breakfast or lunch. They tend to have less of a wait than Crossroads and the food will not disappoint. Pie For The People: Great dinner option if you want to dine in or pick up. They make some really good pies and also great salads so the wait can be a little long around dinner time. They sell by the slice as well for a quick bite but allow a little extra time if you are ordering a whole pie during the rush. The Joshua Tree Saloon: Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a fun place to come with family or friends and super convenient as they are open at (almost) all hours. This is basically your only option for night life in Joshua Tree but it won’t disappoint if you’re looking to get a few drinks or a bite with friends. A little farther out: Pappy and Harriet’s: Classic restaurant in beautiful Pinoeertown. We highly recommend you check it out before sunset so you have the time to explore the old midwestern town adjacent to the restaurant. You will want to call ahead to make a reservation as they often have wait times up to an hour (or more!) without one. Definitely worth checking out! La Copine: A great little French restaurant out in Flamingo Heights that is open for lunch and dinner only. This place has the freshest food in the area and has recently extended their hours to open for lunch at 2pm. We highly recommend getting here right when they open as it is a small restaurant and can fill up quickly. It’s a little farther away but the drive is beautiful.
  • We had a fantastic time!! Shanan is a great host and very responsive. This property is OUT THERE which definitely makes for a remote, peaceful desert experience. Cool artwork, beautifully decorated and gorgeous master with clear sunrise views. You’re off the grid with no WiFi but it does have cell service. Bring your books, lovers, friends and good vibes :)

    Taryn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very remote & lovely house...quiet, isolated, mountain & desert views. The hot tub was ready for us when we arrived and we really needed a good soak after hiking all day. Good beds. Everything was great.

    Holly Lloyd2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Recommend that place a lot. Far away from everywhere. Really comfy, clean and you feel line home. She is one of the best hosts I ever had during my US trips.

    Alan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • My friend, her mom, and I wanted a quiet retreat in the desert and this place delivered. The place is comfortable, lovely, and surrounded by desert, sky, and stars. It's down a bit of a dirt road and there is no wifi - which just completes the feeling of retreating in the desert. Super clean, comfortable, and they provided some great tips and local spots.

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Charming house with gorgeous views! Soaking in the hot tub under the stars was a real treat. Perfect if you're looking for a quiet escape.

    Kim2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway house! Views from the hot tub were amazing during sunset and sunrises from the master are jut as good. Perfect house for a couple or friends trip. Lots of privacy as the house is in a more secluded area, which we loved. Great value. We would definitely return!

    Lauren2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

There are so many great things but the amenities and location are the best. The house overlooks 29 Palms and Joshua Tree National Park. Watching the sunset from the patio will make you question if what you're seeing is real. The mountian backdrop look like every dreamy desert pic you've ever seen. This house gives an instant good vibe that feels like vacation. Fully stocked, just bring groceries & clothes
This house has the perfect layout, it was built for guests of the previous owner - This 1000 sq ft guest house is part of a 2 acre property that also has a separate main house. The guest house (casita) is completely private The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the house, the kitchen and living room are in between. There are 2 bathrooms - One off of the living room, the other is in the bedroom with the king bed! Bedroom 1 - King bed, large walk in closet and a full attached bathroom. Bedroom 2- Queen bed, large walk in closet, private door leading out to the patio/hot tub area Kitchen - Fully stocked, pots, pans, silverware, baking dishes, bowls, knives, measuring cups, misc kitchen utensils, coffee pot, baking sheets and more! Living room- Large seating area with views that are indescribable, a smart tv with all the streaming options, board games, and binoculars! Bathroom 1 & 2- Towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash Outside/Patio- Large high top bar, propane grill (full for every booking) hot tub that fits 3-4 adults, and acres of landscaped yard to explore. .
Quiet neighborhood with neighbors near but far enough away it feels secluded.
  • Great desert retreat, very private outdoor area fenced in with the hot tub. Highly recommend!!

  • Beautiful spot located in a somewhat secluded area. The house was perfect and even though it was really cold outside, the heating and air conditioning system worked great. 10/10

    Diane2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very chic and cool place. Clean and well-located. Relaxing vibe and open vistas.

    Rayna2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This home was bigger than we expected with two sizable bedrooms that were decorated very nicely. The bathrooms were both pretty small and outdated but got the job done. The hot tub was a great addition to the space and we put it to good use. Location was great and getting around was very easy. The only issue we had with this space was the lack of window treatments particularly in the bedroom. Although the neighbors weren’t especially close, we did not feel that comfortable with the fact that the bedroom windows didn’t have curtains. Only other complaint would be that a majority of the light switches and outlets in the kitchen area didn’t work, but considering we stayed for a short time and only utilized the kitchen space minimally it didn’t pose too much of an issue. Overall would definitely recommend this space, had a great time!

    Claire2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Katie’s place was very clean and a great quiet spot after exploring Joshua tree!! Hot tub was very enjoyable and kitchen amenities helped during breakfast. Beds were comfortable and cozy! If you’re a person who cannot sleep through sunlight, I would warn you there’s no curtains in some windows but I can see why since they look out to the mountains surrounding. Would stay here again, directions getting in were easy to follow even after dark.

  • After checking in, I found that this house is more beautiful than what I saw in the introduction. Do you know the feeling of suddenly entering such a beautiful house in a desert? Like a beautiful fairy tale! The room design is very artistic, all the necessities of life are very complete, we love this house so much, love all its design, all the beautiful details. Before we left, we took many pictures in our house and yard, and even delayed our visit to Joshua Tree National Park:) I look forward to staying here longer in the future!

Spacious and sunny room with a queen-size bed in a comfortable home located in a quiet neighborhood next door to the Joshua Tree National Park. My home is conveniently located near Joshua Tree and other hi-desert communities as well as to the Coachella Valley. it is a 5-minute drive to the Indian Cove campground area of the park and about midway (15-minute drive) to the East and West Park entrances. You have full use of the common areas of the house and a patio that offers lovely park views.
My home is in a quiet neighborhood and has beautiful sunset views and views of the Joshua Tree National Park. The house is vegan/vegetarian; guests have full access to the kitchen, but I ask that they do not cook meat (although meat take-out is fine). It is also a 20-minute walk (5-minute drive) to the Southern California Vipassana Center (SCVC). The house is spacious and great for unwinding. There is a room with a woodstove for relaxing on chilly evenings if desired. I have another room with an XL twin bed that can be rented for an additional 25.00 per night if needed, but it will not always be available, so ask.
My home is at the end of the street and looks into the park. I have neighbors to the north but a high fence provides privacy. The neighborhood is very friendly and quiet. Please note that there most neighborhoods do not have streetlights, so it is very dark on moonless nights (which enhances greatly the opportunities for stargazing). I will have always have a porchlight to help you navigate to the front door.
  • Best place to stay! Close to the park. Super cozy, welcoming. Gary is such a great guy. Very helpful. His place is all you need and more. The scent in the bedroom was amazing. I'd say therapeutic if you are stressed out and want to relax. Best place we stayed at so far!!

  • The accommodation was very relaxing. Gary as the host was very considerate and quiet. We were able to use the entire kitchen, the internet was very fast and in principle we even had our own bathroom. The property was also very clean. When we are close again we will definitely book Gary's accommodation again.

  • Gary was quick to respond, give recommendations, and make sure we were comfortable. His house was comfortable and in close proximity to JT national park which was great for hiking.

Only 5 minutes from the eastern Joshua Tree National Park entrance, this is the perfect retreat for your getaway in the high desert. Tesla/RV charging outlet (14-50) available to guests! Brighten the bed nook with our twinkly lights, put a record on from our mini curated collection for some southwestern ambiance, or warm up outside by the chiminea.
We're 5 minutes from the east Joshua Tree National Park entrance & 5 minutes from the Tortoise Rock Casino!
  • Cute, quiet, great location! I really enjoyed my week here and highly recommend.

  • This little casita is perfect! Nice, clean & roomy! The record player & lights around the bed were a bonus! This was a fabulous couples retreat & a great place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree NP! Highly recommend.

  • Great home base for exploring Joshua Tree for a few days - we had everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive. Thanks!

  • This cozy house is the perfect location for visiting Joshua Tree. My wife and I stayed here, and being only a couple miles from the entrance we were able to get up early and start hiking before the park got busy. The casita is a great place to come back to after being out all day thanks to the little touches Cora has put in. If you are going to JT I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Just the place we were looking for as a base to explore Joshua Tree NP! Wonderful, warm feel and south-facing patio to sit in the morning sun and at sunset. Amazing star gazing while sitting on the patio too. Close to 29 Palms for great meal options. Cora was a great host and communicated quickly. Would certainly stay again when visiting Joshua Tree.

  • Cozy Casita! So close to Joshua Tree (literally a 5 minute drive to the 29 Palms entrance). It's a cozy spot, perfect retreat for my husband and myself. Easy check-in, fully stocked kitchen, comfy bed, comfy couch, Netflix/Amazon TV. We sat on the couch and drank cocoa after many long days in JTree. Great location to the park and town for groceries. Will definitely stay again!
