Art Museum
“The Hermitage has one of the finest collections of art and artifacts in the world and is actually considered the world's second largest art museum. I would especially recommend a visit to the 'Winter Palace' (one of the six buildings of the museum) because it was actually a former main residence of Russian Tsars. Hugely historical and worth a visit! ”

Shopping Centre
“The biggest and the most popular shopping center in Saint-Petersburg, in a walking distance from the apartment (20 minutes of walking straight through Ligovsky Ave. or 10 minutes by bus №3, 26 or 91). It is better not to take a bus due to the busy traffic.”

“The Church of Savior on Blood is situated near the Russian Museum. It is one of the famous churches of the city, pretty beautiful inside but pretty expensive. Link to the site see below, unfortunately only Russian version. Радом с русским музеем находится Спас на Крови. Собор красив не только снаружи, но и внутри, хотя билеты достаточно дорогие... “ Half-naked people like to enjoy the sun in the Tavrichesky Garden. This is the park for ordinary people to come and take a short stroll, while fitness freaks go jogging. Once it belonged to Grigory Potemkin, the favourite lover of Catherine the Great. Red Mountain, the raised terrace and cafe, is marvellous for sun lovers, and the kebabs are great. The park also contains a bright spot: The Tavricheskiy Palace (closed to the public) held the first State Duma (parliament) meeting in 1906, as did the Petrograd Soviet following the February revolution in 1917. Lenin's statue has been removed and replaced by Russian poet Sergei Yesenin.”
