The home is gorgeous and immaculate. The views from the living room windows are spectacular. The double-paned windows block sound, so it is very quiet at night. We loved staying here. Petros is very quick to respond to email messages, however, it would have been better if he had provided the GPS coordinates when I requested them instead of referring me to the website; I never found the information, and we got lost at the end. Also, he did not advise me that my onsite contact person did not speak English, so when I called her, I was completely unprepared, and no information was exchanged. Last, the house does not have air conditioning or a (clothes) washing machine as stated on the website (there is a dishwasher).

Excellent family friendly house at beautifull village.

It will be a long review... I need to introduce us first, we are a couple with a 13 month old baby boy who just started walking and we need kitchen utilities and appliances to prepare some of his food... That's why we needed to book a house instead of a hotel room. About the house, it's super. Everything as described, it has all one needs, placed at a very convenient location, all great. Only problem, the fireplace's window door is broken and if you light it, the smoke comes out and fills the house, making it hard to breathe. Maybe it was the wind that made it worse for us.. I need to make clear that we booked the house after having exchanged a few messages with the owner, easy and fast. The same week we were about to visit our destination, Stemnitsa, the owner gave us the phone number of the cleaning lady and told us to communicate with her before our arrival. So we never met him nor would we have any physical contact during our staying. The problem started at the second day of our 6 nights staying.. when it began to snow and everything was covered in white. Freezing temperatures, way below 0. We woke up the third day and the pipes were frozen, leaving us with not a single drop of water. Cold or hot. As soon as we realized it we called the cleaning lady and she told us she would step by and she what she could do. Truth is we left the house for a drive to have lunch and when we returned it was evident that the woman had tried to fix the problem, while we were absent. There were pots with water in the kitchen, bucket at the bathroom, at the front door.. But still no water supply. The owner, knowing from early that day that we didn't have any water, never contacted us, not even out of plain politeness, neither to show some level of interest. As a host, someone would expect that he would have made at least one phone call, to express some sympathy and a willing to help, for the appearances if not for real.. On the contrary, it was us who contacted him at night that day, sending a message through airbnb,asking him if there's something that can be done and after that he finally called us. He started saying that everywhere in the world peope let the taps running when it's freezing cold, trying to made us look like complete idiots, rudely and aggressively enough, before letting us say one word he added he had done whatever was possible (he meant the cleaning lady) and told us that's is all up to us.. to suggest a different solution. That's when he let us speak our first word. Very kindly we said that unfortunately we don't know any technical solutions and probably we need to check in a hotel cause there would be probably...

Nice house in the middle of Stemnitsa, it has two floors one with the main bedroom and the other with two other bedrooms. Great location, clean and comfortable.

Splendida e confortevole casa in un luogo altrettanto gradevole. Ottima base per visitare le gole e i monasteri del Lousios. Susanna e'stata sempre disponibile ed attenta alle nostre esigenze: un grazie anche a lei... E ai pasti piacevoli sulla plateia del paese, agli altrettanto piacevoli caffè, ai dolci di noci...e si potrebbe continuare!

Εξαιρετική επιλογή! Το σπίτι είναι ζεστό, όμορφο και φτιαγμένο με πολύ γούστο από τους ιδιοκτήτες! Μας εντυπωσίασε το γεγονός πως ήταν απολύτως εξοπλισμένο και δεν υπήρξε τίποτα που να χρειαστούμε και να μην υπάρχει ήδη στο σπίτι! Πραγματικά νιώσαμε σαν στο σπίτι μας. Ακόμα, η τοποθεσία είναι πολύ βολική, καθώς είναι στο κέντρο της Στεμνίτσας. Τέλος, ο ιδιοκτήτης πολύ συνεργάσιμος και ευγενικός. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ για τη φιλοξενία! Θα το ξαναεπισκεφθούμε σίγουρα!

Η διαμονή μας ήταν εξαιρετική. Το σπίτι, πέτρινο, χαρακτηριστικό δείγμα αρχιτεκτονικής της περιοχής, χτισμένο το 1873, φανταστικό, καθαρό και εξοπλισμένο πλήρως με όλα τα απαραίτητα. Συνεχώς ανακαλύπταμε και κάτι καινούριο.. Το χωριό επίσης πολύ όμορφο και ήσυχο. Ο συνδυασμός κατοικίας και χωριού ότι πρέπει για ηρεμία και χαλάρωση.

Jenny was a great host, very easy to communicate with. The room is close to the village square and has everything you need - a comfy bed, hot shower. A nice touch was providing breakfast in the morning. Stemnitsa is a beautiful stone village and a great base for walking the Menalon trials. Make sure you check the bus timetable tho as buses dont leave every day.

We really had a nice stay in Stemnitsa. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful. Also a killer-breakfast that brightens up the rainy sky!

Stemnitsa was a great surprise and the guesthouse is wonderful. On top of the mountains and just 5 minutes walk from little Stemnitsa down town. Our host was great and came to pick us up at the central place of the village because we could not find Gartagani guesthouse. Big up for the breakfast which will lighten your day! I recommand!

Wonderful guest house! Quiet and clean. The host was very helpful and generous. We were cycling, and he found a place for our bikes and offered cold juice when we arrived. Amazing breakfast set us on our way the next day. The check-in was a little confusing. The host does not live on site and we did not have instructions for reaching him. We texted and emailed, and he arrived within minutes!

My stay was excellent. The room was small but clean and had an amazing view over the town, mountains and valleys. My host was extremely helpful and kind. The house was very stylishly decorated and there was an array of different foods available for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this as a base for exploring the mountains and local tourist sites.

Fantastic service from arrival to breakfast and check-out. The accommodations are simple but clean and comfortable, and the location is very convenient for hiking the Menalon Trail. Overall a great host and a good value.

I will try to give a short experience about this place and a number value from 1 - 10. Comfort: It's a big apartment with two sleeping rooms and plenty of place for 4 guests. The furniture is in very good state. (10) Location: if you want to enjoy the beautiful small village of Stemnitsa and great nature and cultural locations around the Louisios gorge this is a great place to stay. The balcony view from this apartment is amazing! (10) Facilities: Internet connection is ok. There is no kitchen, but can enjoy a great breakfast. Clean: The apartment and a bathroom are clean. (10) Owners: We didn't meet the owner Georgios, but he has called us and explained everything what we have to know. His nice parents are present on this location, in de apartment below. His mother have also make a great breakfast for us. (10)

Great host and great house!! Awesome place to stay in a convenient and quite area, only a couple of minutes’ walk from the main square. Our host Panos was very responsive and provided everything we needed including some good recommendations for getting around! We loved the house and surrounding grounds, including the beautiful garden, that were very well maintained and fully equipped (from cutlery to games for the kids!). A few steps around the house but happy to get some exercise. Overall, a fantastic experience and would happily go back!

A lovely house located in the heart of Stemnistsa village which is so beautiful. Around, landscapes are gorgeous. Stemnitsa is surrounded by mountains, rivers and forests. Panos, our host, was so nice. He provided us with all information we needed to visit the region. The house was very clean and full of stuff and big enough for two families with children. Το σπίτι του Πάνου είναι ακριβώς όπως περιγράφεται, και μάλλον οι φωτογραφίες το αδικούν. Έχει μεγάλους χώρους και ειναι ιδανικό για μεγάλες παρέες ή οικογένειες. Το σπίτι ήταν καθαρό και τακτοποιημένο. Η Στεμνίτσα (και γενικά η περιοχή) πολύ όμορφη και γραφική, με διάφορα μονοπάτια για πεζοπορία μέσα στη φύση.

Πολύ όμορφο σπίτι! Πολύ ωραιότερο απ' ότι φαίνεται στις φωτογραφίες. Ο Πάνος ευγενεστα τος και πολύ εξυπηρετικός. Εξαιρετική επιλογή!

Πολύ φιλόξενο και ζεστό σπίτι, με ανέσεις. Ιδανικό για παρέες! Στα μείον είναι η μη εύκολη πρόσβασή του από ΑΜΕΑ και καρότσια και το ότι δεν υπήρχε wifi. Γενικά ήταν πανέμορφα και με φανταστική θέα προς το χωριό! Το συστήνουμε ανεπιφύλακτα!!!

Τέλειο 3όροφο σπίτι. Φιλόξενο,πολύ φιλικό,πεντακάθαρο και άρτια εξοπλισμένο. Τί να πεις για τον Πάνο? (Οικοδεσπότης), απο την 1η στιγμή σε κάνει να νιώθεις ότι γνωρίζεστε πολύ καιρό,ευγενέστατος και πάντα διαθέσιμος κ πρόθυμος να ικανοποιήσει τις ανάγκες μας! Παρακάτω θα αναφέρω λίγα απο τα πολλά θετικά που θα μπορούσα να γράψω για αύτο το σπίτι: -πολύ ζεστό σπίτι σε όλους τους ορόφους απο το 1ο λεπτο που βρεθήκαμε εκεί (και με θερμοκρασίες απο -2 εως -9) -ζεστό νερό για όλη τη διαρκεια που βρισκόμασταν στο σπίτι (και για τα 6άτομα) -η θέα μοναδική -εξοπλισμένο για κάθε είδους ανάγκη μας (επιτραπέζια όλων των ειδών,ξύλα για το τζάκι,καφέδες,πετσέτες,απορρυπαντικά,φαρμακείο κ.α πολλά τα οποία δε μπορώ να θυμηθώ) -πεντακάθαρο σε όλους τους χώρους. Πραγματικά ψάχναμε κάποιο αρνητικό για αυτό το σπίτι αλλά δεν βρίσκαμε κάτι το αξιοσημείωτο. (Αν έπρεπε απλά να αναφέρω κάτι το μόνο που θα έλεγα θα ήταν η ηχομόνωση αλλα προσωπικά δε με ενοχλεί και ιδιαίτερα σε τέτοιου είδους παρε'ι'στικες διακοπές) Ευχαριστούμε πάρα πολύ τον Πάνο για την φιλοξενία και εκτός του ότι είναι σίγουρο πως θα το επισκεφτούμε ξανά είναι επίσης σίγουρο πώς θα το προτείνουνε και σε γνωστούς και φίλους μας ανεπιφύλακτα!!!

We had the most wonderful experience staying at Vassili's place. Vassili is an excellent host making us feel comfortable and welcome even before arriving to his place and the house is truly a home away from home. Vassilis is an amazing host. The house is beautiful, spotless and in an amazing location. We spent two nights in the house and wish we could stay much longer. He really provides a unique experience and stands out from most hosts by the level of attention and welcoming. If it isn't already in your plans, you should go out of your way and stay here.

Vassilis is a very welcoming host, and his house is just the perfect mountain retreat, situated at the edge of a quaint village. Stemnitsa's centre can be reached in 5 minutes, following a nice path hidden behind the houses of the upper village. The house is spacious, quiet and very well equipped. And the view is stunning.

Wow! This is an absolutely lovely house--actually "home" is a much better word--in every way. The top floor, where you enter from the street (with parking area), has a large living/dining room and open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more, and Vassilis kindly left ground coffee, an absolutely wonderful local bread, some juice, milk and cookies. Next level down has three large bedrooms with comfortable double beds and two bathrooms. Level below that has another bathroom and family room. On every level, there are balconies and terraces overlooking the lovely town of Stemnitsa. Everything in the house is of the absolute highest quality and workmanship. Stemnitsa is easily accessible coming either from Athens or, as we were, from Koroni (with a must-do stop at Ancient Messeni.) The town is fun to explore, with two tavernas, some small stores, a Jewelry College and shops selling quite beautiful products of local jewelers. It is also a perfect base for hiking, including but not limited to hikes to the two monasteries in the Luiosos Gorge. Those were quite an experience, as was ancient Gortys, where we waded in the (very cold) stream where stories say Zeus was bathed. On the way, you also get a chance to explore nearby Dimetsana, another pretty mountain town. Highly recommend to others visiting the Peloponnese region. MUCH cooler than the coast in August, that's for sure. Vassilis is a charming and interesting host. It was great to talk with him and his mother, who lives next door. And the people of the town were very friendly, sharing stories from their lives. Can't recommend a visit enough!

The guesthouse in Elliniko was precisely as we expected, a spacious room which was very cool, clean and lovely. We can really recommend this guesthouse to others. You can visit a most spectaculair monastry called Prodromos and the Lousios river.

What a lovely place to stay. Mina gave us recommendations on where to go locally and was helpful with all our questions. Elliniko is a beautiful, quiet village, with some nice cafes and restaurants. A great place to get away from it all. Thanks Mina!

The apartment is wonderful. It is very well furnished, with lots of love put into it. It has all that's necessary for a relaxing stay. We stayed with our baby and we're very satisfied. Mina is also very nice. We unfortunately couldn't meet her in person but we talked over the phone a lot and her family is in the village always ready to help. The village is beautiful and a good starting point to see archaeological sites, monasteries etc. We can definitely recommend this place and would also come back any time.

You can visit Greece just to stay in this house. You will find everything inside the house. A beautiful place in the middle os Peloponnese.

We' ve spend 5 days (and we wished we could stay more...) in this pretty small village of Peloponissos. Ellinikon is a cute, recently renovated place, with buldings made of stones an woods, near the spectacular river of Loussios. We loved the nature, but the apartment was so well and tasty decorated, plus fully functioned, so that we prefered to spend our time inside, near the fireplace... This house reflects the owner's pationed love for traditional living, including although all the comforts of modern life. Yes, we loved the apartment, but we adored Mina and Ilias. They are the personification of Greek hospitality!!! We 'll be back soon. It's a "must" recomendation!!!

Beautiful stone house in calm and picturesque village. The house is renovated and has almost everything you need for vacation, though inside the house there's no connection (mobile and Wifi). Elliniko is a perfect place to explore Arcadia and Lousios gorge. It's much more calmer than the above villages. There's all year round working very old tavern with greek meals, nice and welcome people and free WiFi in the village.

Mina's and Elleniko (the village) has been one of the most special experience we had in Greece. Although we did not meet Mina in person, she has been super responsive and we easily found the house, which is a wonderful traditional stone house with a charming terrasse opening a view on a vineyard with goats and sheeps. The place has everything you need, including a comfortable bed and a fully equipped kitchen (in case you would wish to take a break from the delicious tavernas in the village!). Elleniko is the perfect place for anyone willing to discover Loussios Gorges and their hidden Monasteries -- hidden gems we were delighted to discover and hike across for three days. It's much less touristic that Stemnitsa and Demistana, has a "local" feel, best food and tavernas (and a wonderful place to have a breakfast before hiking !). We would definitely go back there and highly recommend to include this place in your Greek and / or Peloponnesian trip!

This place was great! Stemnitsa is a wonderful village perched on the side of the mountain. It is very close to the Progromou Monastery and Menalon trail. If you are going to hike the trail be sure to set aside enough time to really enjoy it. Breakfast was incredible! They kept bringing more and more food out. And it was all wonderful! The view from the balcony was also spectacular!

We had a difficult time finding the house , partially because the pictures didn't show the correct house. Fortunately the neighbours helped us find it. When we entered the house there was a strong smell of moth balls (naphtaline); the house was clean but very basic: nothing to make us feel welcomed, basic things were lacking ( no trash can, no dish towels..) ; the equipment in the house is good ( sheets, towels, ..) the air cooling systems works. It is in quiet area, but it is impossible to seat outside without any garden chairs or finished terrace.. We stayed only one of two nights and left because the moth balls chemical smell bothered me.

Good place to visit by the loussios valley( particularly if you want to walk ) , and beautiful sunset from the terrace in front of the house

We had the most wonderful experience staying at thano's place. Great house in a lovely neighborhood with an excellent host. The place was really comfortable, clean and sunny. Living room was very clean with very nice and cosy furniture, clean beds with a ton of towels.The bathroom was spacy clean and simple. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more. Location was amazing for our daily trips with great view.Thank you Thanos for everything i hope we can visit your beutiful home once again.I would highly recommend the place to anyone interested in going to Dimitsana or just in need of a beautiful escape!

We never met Thanos in person, but he was friendly and helpful on all communication. Lousios Gorge is indeed a very beautiful place. Our stay in Paleochori was very enjoyable. There are many villages, monasteries and museums to visit. In particular we enjoyed the very nearby water works museum. As there was a fair amount of rain at the time of the visit we did spend some time indoors. The house, from the outside, does seem somewhat derelict in appearance. Photos of the house from outside shows snow on the terrace and garden, but when we visited there was no snow to cover up the building rubble and weeds around the house. We were relieved to open the house and find it fully furnished with warm blankets and a heater. The house is fully functional and is equipped with necessary items. The house is at the edge of the village of Paleochori – some 4km down the gorge from Dimitsana. It is a good and central place from which to explore the gorge its-self.

We did not have the best experience at Thanos' place, due to an electrical shortage and the presence of small insects. Thanos was really comprehensive and had someone resolve the electrical issue. We would recommand this house for summer time, and to visit the Lousios valley/Dimitsana (The location is perfect for this).

Δεν εχω σχεδον κανενα παραπονο, αν εξαιρεσεις την ελλειψη πετσετων και μονων σεντονιων και την υγρασια του σπιτιου κατα την αφιξη μας, η οποια με το aircondition και τη σομπα αντιμετωπιστηκε. Ο οικοδεσποτης ηταν πολυ εξυπηρετικος και ειχε διαθεση να βοηθησει. Η τσικουδια στο τραπεζι ως extra touch με κερδισε ιδιαιτερα! Το προτινω ανεπυφυλακτα για καποιους που επιζητουν ηρεμια σε συνδιασμο καποια εξορμηση στα βουνα.

Οι εντυπώσεις για το σπίτι είναι θετικές, χωρίς προβλήματα θέρμανσης. Η επικοινωνία με τον Θάνο, σε ό,τι χρειαστήκαμε, έγινε χωρίς κανένα πρόβλημα και με άμεση εξυπηρέτηση. Η τοποθεσία προσφέρεται για ηρεμία αλλά και για εξορμήσεις στη φύση και στα διπλανά χωριά.

Ωραίο σπιτάκι, 4 km από Δημητσάνα και 10km από Στεμνίτσα σε πολύ καλή τιμή σε σύγκριση με τα υπόλοιπα. Ήσυχη η γειτονιά και το χωριό. Το σπίτι είναι όπως το δείχνουν οι φωτογραφίες. Διαθέτει ένα κλιματιστικό στην κρεβατοκάμαρα και τζάκι και μια θερμάστρα στο σαλόνι. Βρεθήκαμε εκεί με θερμοκρασία -5 αλλά ζεστάθηκε κ δεν αντιμετωπίσαμε πρόβλημα. Κοντά στον Λούσιο και στις μονές. Ο Θάνος πολύ εξυπηρετικός να σε βοηθήσει σε ότι πρόβλημα αντιμετωπίσεις.

A beautiful traditional guesthouse in the center of Dimitsana. The room was very clean and cosy. Angeliki was very helpful and always available for everything we needed.

Επισκεφτήκαμε την Δημητσάνα για λόγους αναψυχής. Οι οικοδεσπότες ανταποκρίθηκαν άμεσα στα ερωτήματά μας ενώ το δωμάτιο βρίσκεται σε πολύ καλή τοποθεσία και ήταν ιδιαίτερα καλαίσθητο με το ξύλο και την πέτρα. Δυσκολευτήκαμε όμως να το ζεστάνουμε καθώς από τα κουφώματα έμπαινε το κρύο και απογοητευτήκαμε οικτρά από το μπάνιο το οποίο δεν ανταποκρινόταν στις φωτογραφίες που είχαμε δει. Ήταν μικρό και χωρίς κάποια ντουζιέρα ή μπανιέρα. Επίσης το πρωινό στην τραπεζαρία δεν ίσχυε. Αντί αυτού υπήρχαν ορισμένες συσκευασίες (φρυγανιές, βουτυράκια, μαρμελαδίτσες) στο δωμάτιο.

Το δωμάτιο ήταν πολύ ωραίο , το πρωινό ήταν πλούσιο και ο ξενώνας ήταν σε πολύ ομορφη τοποθεσία .

Πολυ ωραιος χωρος, καθαρος και πολυ γραφικο σπιτι. Το μονο θεμα που εχει ειναι το wifi το οποιο δεν ειναι πολυ δυνατο οποτε δεν μπορουσαμε να το χρησιμοποιησουμε στο δωματιο. Κατα τα αλλα ολα ηταν ωραια.

Πολύ όμορφος ξενώνας σε πολύ βολική τοποθεσία μέσα στη Δημητσάνα. Ο χώρος πολύ ζεστός- ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό για τον Χειμώνα- πολύ καθαρός και άνετος. Η εξυπηρέτηση και η επικοινωνία με την οικοδέσποινα άριστη, καθώς η ίδια είναι ευγενική και φιλόξενη. Είχαμε ένα θέμα με το Wi-fi, ωστόσο, ενημερωθήκαμε πως ήταν θέμα της εταιρείας και απλά έτυχε τις μέρες που ήμασταν εκεί να υπάρχει κάποια δυσλειτουργία. Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα και θα το ξαναπροτιμήσω κι εγώ εννοείται σε επόμενη επίσκεψή μου στην περιοχή.

We had a faboulous stay at Lia's house. It is so well kept and equipped we wished it was our own!! The view from the windows is amazing. We also received exceptional service from Lia, beginning with Easter treats she generously left us, and continuing with personal recommendations and problem solving! We would recommend this house to anyone.

I am so glad we booked Lia's place for our week in Dimitsana. The village is incredible full of history and so many stories. The house is on the edge of it all, everything walkable- overlooking the idyllic Louissos valley. There are nice things for the whole family in this house, including a cooks kitchen- and a bathtub! -perfect for family downtime, yet heaps to do if you want to explore and eat out. We were exhausted from travelling and sightseeing in Athens and Corinth and this was a much needed retreat. Don't miss the water power museum! Lia was an amazing host!!! Thank you so much! She made our stay in Dimitsana so welcoming and amazing! The house was beautiful, clean, and even better than described. The view was mesmerising ! I would highly recommend Lia and her place to anyone interested in going to Dimitsana or just in need of a beautiful escape! We will never forget her and our stay!

Πρόκειται για ένα υπέροχο σπίτι, με όλες τις ανέσεις. Ακόμη πιο όμορφο όταν το βλέπει κάποιος από κοντά, και πολύ περισσότερο όταν ζει σε αυτό. Πέντε λεπτά με τα πόδια από το κέντρο της Δημητσάνας και με καταπληκτική θέα προς αυτή. Το καθιστικό είναι πράγματι μαγευτικό. Το σπίτι όλο είναι πολύ μεγάλο και σου δημιουργεί μια ευχάριστη ηρεμία, με την επίπλωση και τον φωτισμό. Επίσης ήταν πάντα αρκετά ζεστό και είχε πάντα ζεστό νερό. Η Λία είναι εξαιρετική σαν άνθρωπος και σαν οικοδέσποινα. Έχει εξοπλίσει το σπίτι με όλες σχεδόν τις ηλεκτρικές συσκευές, καθώς και με διάφορα καλούδια και η διαμονή μας εκεί έγινε ακόμα καλύτερη. Ευχαριστούμε πάρα πολύ, θα ξαναεπιστρέψουμε σίγουρα και ανυπομονούμε για αυτό.

Ο ξενώνας του Κώστα είναι απλά υπέροχος! Πέτρινος, παραδοσιακός με όλες τις ανέσεις, τα κρεβάτια ειδικά είναι εξαιρετικά. Είναι μέσα στην Δημητσάνα, στο κέντρο παρόλα αυτά ήρθε και μας πήρε από τον κεντρικό δρόμο και μας έδειξε ένα καλό σημείο για πάρκινγκ. Ο Κώστας μας υποδέχτηκε με χαμόγελο και καλή διάθεση και μας έδωσε συμβουλές για το τι να κάνουμε και πιυ να πάμε στην περιοχή. Σίγουρα θα τον προτιμούσαμε πάλι!

This place is quiet, and quite literally inside the forest. Very close the a stream. Dimitsana town is closeby. Would suggest a private vehicle for transport. Owner is extremely friendly.
