This is an oasis! Set in pretty, lush gardens with a beautiful pool, it's the perfect private getaway. It's completely self catering with a great cook...there's a big supermarket on the way from the airport. We enjoyed the 10min stroll to the beach which is undeveloped compared with a lot of the coast. We loved it!

Our 4-day stay was perfect ! The cottage and the garden are awesome. Vanda and her staff are very nice and helpful ! We'll come back, we miss Kenya already...

Chef Zablon was likeable, great food, his assistant was also okay, the askari was friendly. The nearby beach was fine and lots of friendly people, we felt secure, but quiet a distance to the public transport. Otherwise the house was really nice, well looked after, we loved the furniture and house design, lots of space and room, relaxing. W got excellent help from the chef, with anything we asked for. I am already missing Zablons food!!

This place is awesome and the staff are great. The cook made us really nice meals everyday. We just had to organise the food and what meals we wanted. I would highly recommend this place for groups. Thanks for the great stay.

Our host made us feel welcome and even made an extra effort to accomodate 1 or 2 extra guests. The house was as shown on pictures or better and the proximity to the beach made a pool not necessary at all. We definitely recommend the place, the host and the cook and cleaner. We did have one unfortunate incident. When I tried to climb the beautiful baobab tree from the side facing the beach, I was stung twice by a vicious wasp. So don't try climbing the baobab tree from the beach side and you should have the perfect stay. Gary, maybe something can be done about that wasp but tell your staff to be careful... Best

It was like a dream. The house is incredibly nice. Everything was great. The staff was very professional. The food excellent we will come back soon but this time we will stay longer. Thank you for this great service

Our stay at this airbnb was totally amazing - the chef and housekeeper took great care of us and the food was amazing (I recommend the beef samosas). We spent our afternoons lazing on the deck overlooking the ocean and swimming in the sea. The house was immaculate and all the rooms were great. Paradise on the beach. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone - thanks Gary and team!

This place is absolutely amazing. Its located among the top 10 beaches I have ever seen, the staff is very helpful and the space is just ridiculuosly beautiful!

Mike and Sabine were outstanding hosts. They were easy to reach for instructions on arriving and took care of us very well when we arrived. Their staff are helpful, trustworthy and friendly and made our stay very easy (they changed money for us in Diani, bought us groceries, picked up some phone credit etc). The property is quite secluded, so if you are looking for a place to relax and not be disturbed in a beautiful setting, this is the spot. Highly recommended.

Beautiful spot on Tiwi Beach. The room and private pool area were lovely. Mike, Sabina, Dorothy and the rest of the team were all incredibly accomodating and helpful. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a private and personal stay on the Kenyan coast.

If you want somewhere off the beaten track by a beach, private as i sit here writing this review, by the plunge pool over looking the sea, i cannot see or hear another soul. This is my first experience of air bnb, and i find myself wondering are all air bnbs places this good? Or have i simply started with the best one! We especially enjoyed a short boat trip (punt style) to see starfish beach/reef great fun. And we were spoilt by the cook that Mike and Sabine were able to arrange. (For a small cost). All in all a top spot.

Mike and Sabine were super helpful in preparing for our visit, including arranging transport and providing advice on what to bring. Once we arrived, they were very welcoming and friendly. The location and ambiance is wonderful, situated in very peaceful, private and quiet surroundings, with everything you need. It feels a bit like being in a forest camp, albeit a short walk to the ocean and the plunge pool with a magnificent view over the coral cliff and towards the sea. It's a short walk to a private white sand beach and other activities, including incredible starfish village! Highly recommended and massive thanks to Mike and Sabine for a great, relaxing stay!

The accommodation has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and even comes with its own private pool overlooking the sea. Beautifully designed and decorated. Sabine and Mike were helpful, flexible and gave great tips on what to see and do. Really enjoyed chatting with them over lunch.

The Tiwi House is an amazing place to relax and enjoy some time away. My wife and I and our seven children spent a week there and had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and clean, the pool is great, the landscaping is beautiful and the views of the ocean are breathtaking. Only 15 min drive into Diani Beach where you can get groceries, shop for souvenirs, have a lunch or dinner at a beachfront restaurant or plan an excursion such as glass bottom boat tour, snorkeling, scuba diving or even sky diving. John and Vivi were wonderful hosts, very helpful before and during our stay. The staff on hand went above and beyond expectations to be sure we were comfortable.

We just loved our stay at Tiwi House!!! From the moment we stepped into the door to the day we left there was nothing but pleasure either at the pool or at the beach or on any of the various spacious verandahs around the house!! Thank you John and Vivi, what a beautiful vacation we had - sigh...:)

What an amazing house! Really spacious, very classy bathrooms, beautifully appointed sitting room and stunning outside area with infinity pool looking over the ocean - just gorgeous! Joseph the house keeper and George the cook looked after us wonderfully and were very friendly. The place just demands relaxation - it is a haven of tranquility. Very tucked away at the end of Tiwi Beach (a true paradise beach) and about a 30 minute tuk tuk drive from the nearest place to buy food. Veg and fresh fish can be delivered to the door. In the time prior to our arrival, John was very helpful with all the arrangements and providing information. We loved our stay here and hope to come back some day. Thanks a million John and Viv!

Amazing , gorgeous place ...next to the beach , oceqn view is just spectacular ! Definitely a worth to go back to !!

Not recommendable. The place has great views and you can walk to the beach, but it is really difficult to reach by road. Moreover no services are provided, so if you are expecting a restaurant or cafe, dont go there. We had to buy food in the nearest Nakumatt (40 minute ride) and there are no kitchen facilities. The place was really dirty and the bathroom had moisture.

I found Paolo place a hidden charm and lovely. I would definitely would like to go back to Paolo place another time with a bigger group of families and friends. I would highly recommend Paople place. I feel so spoiled there by having our own cottage, all well designed with nice decor, air-conditioned, spacey and comfortable for either short or long stay such as weeks. It has a lovely swimming pool, everything nearby, fresh seafood and fruit/veggie brought to your door daily. Paoplo has several cottages in his compound from 1 sleeping rooms to 3 or 4 sleeping rooms cottage for your choice, depending on your group size. It is 3 minutes walk straight to the sea. In addition, he has a special service to hire experienced private chefs for your own comfort as well. I love it. Life for vacation cant' be better in my opinion. Over 10/10 for Paolo place if I could rate. He manages it well while he was away with his team. Paolo has nice and well trained and experienced staffs. I overall love this discovery and enjoy single day staying there. Please book in time if you want to have his space as i believe a place like this in high season would be not available long :) Cheers,

Shambani was an excellent space to spend a relaxing Christmas holiday. The surroundings were beautiful and tranquil, with lush grounds and a pretty swimming pool. The staff were especially polite and helpful. Halima took good care of cleaning our room. Kassim was a great cook, and good company to my family and I. Francis the caretaker was immediately responsive to any concerns we had. He even helped us find a mechanic when we had some car trouble. Getting around using public means was relatively simple as there are tuk tuks immediately outside the property. All in all would recommend to anyone looking to have laidback holiday.

Tembo Cottage was like a step write into the nights of my Safari trip. The elegant design and local touches were great. I was there for a short stay were not on the grounds long enough to review the pool and other amenities. However, Paolo's team was very accommodating so were the 2 little puppies. It was a bit of a distance if you are not planning to be on Diani Beach the entire stay.

the accommodation matches all the promises on the announcement. The place is very quiet with amazing swimming pool. The beach site is just 5 minutes by walk and it is wonderful Very nice choice!!

We booked Tembo Cottage for a brief holiday. The place is really serene, lovely environment, lots of trees. We loved that it felt secluded. Laundry is also done for guests, daily, and at no extra cost. Cleaning is also done daily. Our favourite thing was that you can have seafood delivered fresh, daily, and there is a fantastic cook to do it justice, his name is Ali. The WiFi also worked well for most of the time. We also loved the pool, though we’d recommend that the host instructs his staff to clean it more regularly. It would also be great if the kitchen could have a microwave to make warming food easier. Otherwise, we had a delightful 6-day stay!

Paolo's place is well located and comfortable. The beach is close. The place is quiet, which implies that you need to commute to restaurants and bars always by tuc tuc. Something to improve is the water of the shower and sink, right now it is saulty water. The cook seems to be nice, but sadly we had a small incident with him. It is important to make clear in time if seafood is going to be available. We end up paying for some groceries that we didn't eat because the cook wasn't able to find seafood, but he just told us when it was time for us to eat. We ended up going somewhere else for lunch.

We had a lovely stay at Tembo cottages. Friendly and helpful staff and a nice pool. Some good kitchen basics (some good cutting knives for example) were missing, but furthermore it was great. The beach was a bit disappointing at this end, but maybe due to the weather and low season. Thanks for the great stay!

Fantastic place, beautiful quiet surroundings, would recommend!

Mark's very good at communicating about the house, the facilities and then, once booked, a very comprehensive summary of names and phone numbers for the cook, the housekeeper, local taxis, local amenities and general information. The house is in a stunning location on a very quiet and clean beach; a few beach boys but they don't hassle you. At low tide, you can walk on the reef, to a deep natural swimming pool and into Diani. The house is very simple with a palm roof, open plan kitchen and sitting area but with a veranda like this - we were never inside! The cook really IS as good as Mark says and we ate like kings! He and I would discuss the night before what we would like and a local fisherman would bring the fish or seafood. They will also buy vegetables etc from the village which is good for the local economy too. Diani is about a 45 mins along the beach and that has all the facilities you might need including bike hire.

Our stay at the Tiwi Baobab House was a lovely experience. The house is next to the beautiful beach, the place is calm, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The cook makes anything you want, including amazing fish and seafood dishes. Mark is a terrific host that communicated well with us right after the house was booked, as well as before and during our stay. We could not recommend the house enough! Thank you Mark for the beautiful stay at Tiwi Baobab House!

We were warmly received and picked up at the airport. The house looked tiptop cared! The staff was very nice and helpful. You really are a guest and make sure you have a relaxing stay. We as a family with three young children 4, 4 & 7 year had a very pleasant stay. The three dogs are well behaved and child friendly! The monkeys in the morning and the beautiful birds in the garden's let you fully relax! The pool is great, nice and deep and guarantees lots of water fun. Do not forget to take a night swim in the colorful lighted water under the millions of stars! The paradisiacal beach is a few minutes walk. We definitely come back and take a few friends along! Place enough!

The place was exactly as described. The staff were extremely helpful and even assisted us by bring some things to the airport we had forgotten in the house. The overall experience was great, right in our budget and we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We would absolutely stay again.

The swimming pool was excellent especially when the light turned on at night. The leisure part near the swimming pool was wonderful, with cozy sofa and voice box, quite a good place to have a party with friends. But it's a little bit far from the beach ( 20-30 minutes' walk), or you can borrow a bicycle from steward.

Lovely well situated villa (5-10 mins walk from the beach) quiet. The benefits are identical to the announcement. The staff is helpful and welcoming. A favorite for the cook who struggles to prepare local dishes or on demand. For $ 10 a day, it would be a shame to spend. Stay recommend

The house is wonderful and the staff superb, beautiful grounds and but a 15 min walk to a spectacular beach, Luke was very easy to communicate with, only downside is no air conditioning inside and a pool hotter than you would have your bath water !!

Good value for the money. A little far from the sea but close to river congo, and in a nice and quiet forest location. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Diani Bay Resort ...a home away from home...

Beautiful house, wonderful staff. Slightly off the beach, in beautiful nature. Had a fabulous stay. Would recommend it to anyone looking to make a trip to Diani.

Charle's houses are wonderful, such as the persons working with him at the house. There are 2 houses on the same compound, but each house is still relatively independent - unless a big group stays in the other one. But we had no issues on this point. The swimming pool is a piece of paradise, and the master bedroom upstairs lets you enjoy a full view through its open walls. Ideal for a honyemoon I would say! We were unlucky with several evenings without power, including the 31st December. I'm this was due to some more general electrical issues in the town, but this was the only issue we had in the house. Even with that, our stay was great and we would definitely come back to the same place if we return to Diani. And a big thank you to Beatrice for the perfect welcome, and for Charles for being a great and flexible host.

Charles has an amazing spot: quiet, breezy, tastefully decorated, and thoroughly relaxing. There are plenty of places to relax while enjoying Diani's often forgotten greenery and foliage, all of which was complimented by a well-maintained and spectacular pool. The artwork strewn about was a great touch, and fit perfectly into the smartly constructed building. Though Charles was away at the time, Beatrice was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and the dog was an absolute gem. Anything we needed had already been thought through, from taxi numbers to wifi details and emergency contact information. Charles, thanks so much for accommodating me and my friends last minute. You have a great place; keep up the great hosting!

We spent a lovely 3 nights in House Mbwa Kali with Beatrice who is very welcoming and charming while Tony always had a smile for us and prepared a gorgeous BBQ with local fish organized by Beatrice. Also thanks to David the night keeper. Definitely worth another trip.

This place is amazing, really scenic and chill place. Everything worked perfectly organizing it and communication vise. Staff is excellent. We had both houses as we were big group and we enjoyed the spacious rooms and the pool very much. Awesome holidays.

Unless you absolutely want to be on the beach or need the buzz and night vibrancy of large resorts, i doubt that there is a better place to stay in Diani. Machweo House is clean, well situated, secure and has few hidden treasure: A breathtaking view from the top floor of the house. (sunset and sunrise) A level of privacy like you will hardly find anywhere else; An immaculate pool cleaned twice a day by tony the gardener. but above all "Beatrice". If Charles tells you that Beatrice will look after you believe me she will., form taking you shopping, cooking succulent home made food that only the top 4 restaurant in Diani can rival with, hand washing your close, and connecting with all the useful locals services (avoiding all the tourist trap she will do it all with smile and warmth. If you ever stay at Machweo House please treat this lady with lot of respect, because she is a pearl and be prepared to be pampered. Since we left, we tried two other resorts in Diani, and we will gladly go back to Machweo if we didn't have already booked the other places. During our stay we didn't met with Charles, but eh remained in touch with us via email during our stay. A very good host indeed.(URL HIDDEN)will be back
