Places to stay in Thousand Oaks
Our little guest house has been completely remodeled and is light bright and so sweet. We are a quick drive from Topanga Canyon Blvd, next to the entrance of Topanga State Park. Just 5 miles from the Ocean and 5 miles from Whole Foods and the amenities of Calabasas. A special place to take retreat from the hustle of the city.
I'm a collector of all things vintage and unique. I love to mix vintage with new and love to mix up the vibes. The cottage is decorated with finds from around the world and has an eclectic and comfortable vibe.
Our street is a short but sweet and just beyond is Topanga State Park....quiet and serene, the canyon is a place to surrender.
  • We spent our wedding eve here and it was so perfect! The space is amazingly decorating and such a natural environment with the wood and skylights. Megan was a great hostess and very responsive. We loved waking up in nature and recommend this spot to anyone that loves being in a peaceful woodsy environment

  • The cabin is spacious and well-appointed, and the location is private and peaceful while being only a short trip from fantastic hiking and restaurants. Megan is an attentive and proactive host as well. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning.

  • Wow, where to start. This place is nothing short of magic(k)al. Already the location is prime. So close to all the cute shops in Topanga & a short drive to the beach. Upon entering the property, there is a number of beautiful Oak trees surrounding the structures & the vibe is instantly serene. Although rather close to the main home, we still felt like we had our privacy & enjoyed ourselves very much. Inside the home, literally every thoughtful detail left me & my partner smiling and wowed! From the lighting, to the crystals & precious gemstones-this home is gorgeous! We have a thing for beautifully decorated homes, so the photos of this place do it justice AND more! We like to cook our own food when staying in Airbnbs so the kitchen was our favorite part. There was filtered water available & tons of awesome cookware to use. Also the fridge is so so cute, also very spacious & clean. The bathroom is beautiful & sleek. However, when taking a shower a lot of water sprayed onto the floor because there is no door but that isn’t a huge deal. Plus we loved that the Natural non toxic shower gel that was provided. The heater in the bathroom was amazing & the one in the home is worked very quickly. There are really cool skylights in the studio as well. Which we enjoyed being able to see the moon amongst the trees from inside! The lighting inside the studio is very well thought out, we loved that part. I mean, the whole home is just extraordinary. An exquisite blend of vintage feel with modern touches!! Also....The BED IS NEXT LEVEL COMFORTABLE!!!! And the pillows!! We got some of the comfiest night sleep we had in a while. Wow!! Well worth the price. We cannot wait to book our next stay here! A true gem.

  • Megans cabin was amazing. The photos don't nearly do it justice. It is super cosy and has everything you could need for a relaxing getaway. It's in a great location, close to nature surrounded by awesome hikes and a short drive to the beach. But if you want some excitement, it's only 20mins to LA, you really can have the best of both worlds here!

    Sam2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Simply put, this place is divine! Every aspect of the design and appointments has been thoughtfully curated. It feels like a treehouse floating amongst those old oaks. Such a peaceful place to detox and recharge from the daily grind. It had the best of modern amenities from the SoundLink, French press, and well outfitted kitchen but is uncluttered with distractions such as a TV. Megan was a wonderful host connecting well before our arrival and offering recommendations of local interest. Despite the peace and seclusion, it's very convenient to get to Venice shopping or Malibu beaches. Can't wait to come back to sleep with the windows open, listen to coyotes at night, play vintage games, and be fully present.

  • My favorite airbnb, anywhere!

    Jill2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was better than pictured - beautifully styled yet practically comfortable. My wife and I were looking for a quick get-away, and we got precisely that with Megan's place. The cottage is close to loads of great hikes and 15 minutes to the beach - both of which we enjoyed during our weekend there. Highly recommended!

  • Cottage in the Oaks is a perfectly crafted vacation destination. Up in the peaceful Topanga canyon, it's just a short drive to great hiking in Topanga Canyon State Park, and only a short distance from the ocean and Santa Monica. Everything in the cabin is just as you see in the photos and every detail – from the kitchen appliances, to the bed, to the hairdryer – is such great quality. Bright and sunny, the protected oaks that surround the cottage are teaming with birds. A peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Highly recommended.

Relax in a hammock on the private deck and take in the canyon views after a day at the beach. Head out to explore the maze of meandering trails in the park before settling down on the corner sofa in this cabin with modern style and rustic details.
Tucked away in Topanga (yet only minutes from town) sits Chandler Farms, a 500 sq ft cabin. Recently remodeled, the cabin is a perfect mix of rustic & luxury featuring a private deck with a hammock facing breathtaking views and a massive walk in shower. A newly remodeled guest cabin with a private front yard and a huge private deck overlooking the canyon. A gorgeous 2 person bathroom with double sinks and a spa style shower with a bench and skylight. Raw hard wood ceilings with rustic touches makes this a unique yet comfy space. Just a 2 minute drive from rustic Topanga and 10 minutes from the beaches of Santa Monica and Malibu, we are also directly across the street from Topanga state park, the largest tract of park land in Los Angeles. Trailhead is within walking distance with access to miles of trails of varying difficulty. Red Rock Canyon is also 5 minute drive. Over the ridge to the Valley is 12 minute drive with access to all modern shopping amenities and restaurants. Its really up you. We are a super chill couple with years of airbnb experience as both hosts and guests. Your space is your own private area that is connected to the main house by a short trail. We are always available to help with advice about the area or to just hang out and trade travel stories. Topanga is a special place that has been occupied by native americans for hundreds of years. They chose this area for its lush vegetations, calm winds and dry temperate climate. The moisture comes up the canyon every morning and evening to feed the vegetation. It truly is a mountainous paradise within proximity to all LA has to offer. The people are a laid back mix of musicians, artists and film makers from all over the world. You can literally get lost in the maze of meandering roads and trails that give sight to the eclectic architecture and natural vistas. Everyday the weather is near perfect - you have to experience it yourself to fully understand. A rental car is a must in LA. You can use LYFT or UBER to get to and from the city but it is not as convenient as having your own wheels. A taxi can be taken from LAX or Burbank airports to the cabin. Mountain biking and hiking are great ways to explore the area. Several trails originate near our home and can be taken all the way down to the coast. Topanga Creek Bicycles is just down the street and is one of the coolest bike shops on the west coast. They offer great deals on mountain bike rentals and can give you advice on what trails you should explore for your skill level. The cabin is a guest house on our property with its own parking space. We have 2 driveways so parking is never an issue. The cabin has a kitchen with a fridge, 2 burner range and a microwave. The private deck features a picnic table, a hammock, two lounge chairs and a small propane Weber grill.
The cabin is a few minutes' drive to Topanga and some great organic restaurants as well as fun shops. Drive to the beach in Malibu or stay in the area and commune with nature on a hike or bike ride.
  • My sister and I spent a weekend at Chad's guest cabin. We loved it so much we didn't want to leave. It's such a special place, from its spectacular views to its excellent location near Topanga State Park and Malibu. We loved the sense of tranquility that this place gave us. Chad and Lara were great hosts - so kind and chill. Even though they were not around it was very easy to get in touch with them during our stay.

    Myra2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Enchanting and so peaceful retreat in wild Topanga. Cabin is super stylish, cosy yet genuine and pristine. Highly recommended for the one in search of authenticity and nature.

    Eric2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chad and Lara's cabin in Topanga Canyon is beyond beautiful -- the interior was gorgeous, we loved the luxurious bathroom design and the beautiful back deck with a view over the canyon. When we woke up in the morning we shared an espresso from the espresso-maker they keep in the kitchen, and we opened up the double doors to the back-deck to look out onto the view -- it felt like a Nespresso commercial with better design! We were in town for a wedding and felt like we had the luxuries of a fancy hotel to get dressed up in, with the homey-comfort of waking up in a rustic cabin in a magical place. 5 minutes drive from any destination in Topanga, 15 minute ride to the beach. We will be back!

    Fråñçëscâ2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is impeccably designed and incredibly comfortable. We didn't meet the hosts but they were extremely accommodating and excellent at communication. The place is just lovely and central to all the great spots in Topanga. Hope to visit again soon!

  • If you are looking for a cute and relaxing place to stay, then this is it. We used this as homemade for a short trip on the west side of LA and found the location to be pretty perfect. Being in Topanga provided a great escape after a long day in the city. The deck outside was great and the views are amazing. It has all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay. This would be a great getaway from the city or for finishing that writing project you've been working on.

    Bethany2016-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything went perfectly at Chad and lara's place. The house was exactly as told and Chad was really there to help us and answer our questions, recommend stuff on the neighbourhood.. We felt great and would love to go back there !

    Lucie2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED Chad and Laura’s place. Super stylish and located in a really cool area. Had a great time hiking in Topenga. Was the perfect escape after busy days in Santa Monica and West Hollywood. Great views from the balcony - enjoyed wine and BBQ while staring at the mountains.

    David2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • I booked the property for my mom and sisters for a family wedding. Chad was a wonderful host.

  • jackie was very nice, very accommodating and helpful. she pointed me in the right direction for a variety of activities and events, including a great place on the beach! jackie is very responsive and on top of things, which is very much appreciated.

    Morris2016-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie met us at the appointed time and showed us the place. The pictures were accurate and everything was as expected (excellent!). Lovely place to stay, comfortable, close to the attractions that mattered, quite and restful.

    Henry2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is a fantastic host. Her guest house is just next to her house but it does have privacy. Photos are very accurate. What more could you want? Thanks Jackie!

    Ben2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jackie's cottage for 2 nights and had a perfect experience. The studio is a beautiful airy cottage with stone floors, a large bathroom with a deep bathtub, and comfortable bedding. The space is filled with Jackie's art and personal touches. Jackie is an excellent host and attentive to every detail - she provides books filled with restaurant and grocery suggestions, hiking trails and wine tours, and detailed instructions for wireless and practical needs. We arrived to find thoughtful treats of wine, chocolate and great coffee and even almond milk in the mini fridge. The cottage is surrounded by flowering cactus, fruit trees and humming birds right outside your window at the bird feeder, and 10 steps up the hill offers a beautiful view of the ocean. This is a perfect spot for a mini vacation.

    Fred2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. You'll have to walk a few yards to see the ocean!

    Lucy2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay in Jackie's cabin. The property is just magical and Jackie has considered every detail for how to make her guests feel welcome, from the beautiful furnishings to the clear instructions to the thorough recommendations on the local scene. She is a flexible, knowledgeable and very considerate host. I felt lucky to have the chance to stay here, high in the Malibu hills. The Robbins Nest is a unique getaway and gives you a whole new way to experience the California coast.

    Erica2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie was so welcoming! She wrote out a 3 day itinerary for us, which we loved. It included a hike to a waterfall at the bottom of Corral Canyon and El Matador Beach. She had great recommendations and leads to all the best restaurants in the area. Her place was perfect quiet getaway for my daughter and I. It's a beautiful Place. I highly recommend her as a host and I recommend her place. It's private, gorgeous and unique. The only thing that threw my off was the first picture on the profile. I thought it was right on the ocean, but it was just as stunning with the views driving up and back on the canyon road that leads to her place.

    Tracy2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jackie is exceptionally pleasant and the place is impeccably clean and appointed. The location is spectacular, quiet and private - a secret garden sanctuary. Jackie makes sure you have everything you need and even had us stocked up with bottled water, fresh fruit and coffee. The bed is super comfy and the little electric fireplace just tops it off the coziness. We can't wait to come back and visit again.

Come stay in our cozy bungalow, a separate and private stand alone, only a short walk to Venice Beach and the ultra trendy Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Whether you enjoy star watching, art galleries, shopping, or delicious food, this block has something for everyone. As Venice residents for over 20 years we constantly take advantage of this great neighborhood and love walking to the local coffee shop to grab a bagel or a piece of the yummy pizza or listen to live music just down the block. The bungalow’s location truly can’t be beat for the traveler coming for either fun or business. The bungalow has all the amenities for a comfy stay- a brand new queen bed, TV, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Sunlight streams into the space and there are wonderful ocean breezes in the afternoon making this a real gem of a place to stay. Our newly landscaped backyard garden designed with native California plants that attract butterflies hopefully enhances your stay if you have time to relax outside on the Adirondack chairs or the bistro table. The main room also provides a desk, sitting chair, dresser, suitcase holder, plus a simple cooking area and nicely suits two. The private bathroom has a closet to store additional suitcases and hang clothes as well as a nice size mirror. Internet is free and all linens and towels are provided. You can access the bungalow located behind our house from a private back entrance. We’re on one of the most desirable streets in Venice in what is known as the “walk street” area where you can meander the neighborhood on sidewalks and see great architecture and gardens. Ample street parking is available. In addition to Abbot Kinney Boulevard (named the trendiest street in America by Esquire Magazine), it’s wonderful to stroll the Venice Canals modeled after those in Venice Italy. World-renowned Venice beach is always a main attraction with sidewalk entertainers and vendors you surely won’t see elsewhere and the infamous Muscle Beach (where Arnold Schwarzenegger trained). There is an incredible bike path along the ocean with a number of convenient places to rent bikes nearby. Santa Monica Pier is only a short 10-minute drive away and we’re only 15 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. A number of buses stop just blocks away if you don’t have a car. We are a smoke-free environment and respect the privacy of all our guests. We encourage all potential guests to complete a profile before booking. Hope to see you soon!!
  • Julia and Todd were gracious hosts- very easy going, friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Their bungalow is a perfect base in Venice for fun adventures; it's on a very quiet street that has great access- from wandering the canals to shopping or eating on Abbot Kinney to exploring the walk streets of Venice, it's a find. We loved our stay! Thanks Julia and Todd!

    Ted2014-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's back bungalo was cute and inviting. Little extra things like filtered water, snacks, and coffee were a sweet added touch that made this place special. The location is close enough to all the action, but having a car/bike is necessary.

    Selena2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay and our hosts, Julia and Todd, were so welcoming and wonderful, with responsive communication and relaxed flexibility, even though we arrived on Christmas evening. They provided a very welcome space heater as there were unusually cold temperatures during our stay. We appreciated the quiet street and convenient location--we were close to where our daughter lives in Venice. We highly recommend the bungalow and the hosts--who have a cute dog named Lily.

    Jalyn2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and Todd were gracious hosts, the in room coffee provided is a life saver! cute garden space, their little dog Lily is such a sweet girl, with in walking distance to Abbott Kinney and from there not far to Venice beach, such a relief not to have to drive in this city. I would definitely stay here again!

    Laura2013-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend staying here! My husband Phil and I are moving to the area in a month and had a very stressful week before we arrived to Julia's bungalow. It was exactly what we needed, a very comfortable place to chill and relax! The location is amazing.. The walking streets to get to Abbot-Kinney are beautiful. Most toilet tree items are provided. No need to bring a hair dryer or shampoo! It is there for you! It was a really enjoyable trip. Look no further.. Stay here!

    Meredith2015-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cute & cozy Venice bungalow was absolutely perfect for all my needs. Just a short stroll to Abbot Kinney, the location is superb and the inside of the bungalow is really relaxing. The bungalow has everything you'd ever need and is in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Julia & Todd were extremely welcoming and very accommodating, I'll definitely be back :)

    Hendo2015-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a couple. Definitely impressed by the welcoming environment and easy connivence to Venice Beach. Parking was not a hassle as it is usually in the LA area which I was grateful for. Easy entrance, private setting, and very clean bungalow.

    Jasmine2014-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was an awesome host. We were bringing our little one and she found sheets and a pack and play for her to sleep in. Additionally, we arrived a little late and she was completely accommodating. Since our little one wanted to get up early and leave to the beach we didn't get a chance to talk to Julia. The room was cute and cozy and well stocked. We felt very comfortable and it is very close to Abbott Kinney. Parking was easy to find.

  • Great location if your trying to rough it out but still be on the grid. David was very hospitable. As long as you can deal with the woods then you’ll be fine

    Brad2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great Location, Great Host, surprisingly fast wifi. Recommend staying here at least once for the experience! :

    Brad2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • David's hospitality is extraordinary, this area is a surrealistic and ultra-modern take on camping. We really never want to leave.

    Deidre2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • David was easily accessible for any questions. Great location and I look forward to making another visit in the future!

    Ricky2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • David and Saskia were amazingly welcoming and helpful. They really went out of their way for all of us. We brought our two children (ages 10 and 13), and they had a blast. Keep in mind, that this is really a place for the unconventional. If you feel comfortable with a more bohemian/hippy aesthetic and experience, it is great. It is pretty rough around the edges though. I would be wary of bringing little kids here. Other than that, if you want a nostalgic experience of the canyons in Southern California before they were overrun by the ultra-rich, this is it.

    Sari2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Yes David made us feel very comfortable. The land was beautiful and very quiet. My wife and I slept in the bottom room and our two friends in the top space. The bottom space had a very comfortable bed and was very nice to be in. One drawback was that you could hear every move of our friends on the top bed, and they said the bed wasn't as comfortable. I would definitely come back and stay here. If you are comfortable with very rustic, funky, beautiful quiet this is a great place to be.

    Grady2015-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Neat place!

    Lena K & Dylan R2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I'm in love with this community and hope to be back soon for a more permanent stay. I stumbled upon this place while driving to LA and couldn't have been more pleased with the people and the surroundings. It's rustic, be prepared, but it's soul healing and I really needed some of that goodness in my life when I stayed there. The location is stunning and the energy completely rejuvenated me. They were also very accommodating of my dog, which in my book deserves 5 stars by itself.

This is the "Sister Ship to my place "Boatel". It is a boat so more like a large RV than a hotel! There is plenty of room to sleep and relax. The boat doesn't ever leave the dock. You will get to experience living on a boat, but since it is always attached to the dock you will never have to worry about sea sickness! It is walking distance to all the action at Ventura Harbor Village and also to the beach. Plenty of great things to see and do, all within a few steps from the dock!
Our boat is on the water and permanently moored in the heart of Ventura Harbor Village. There are 2 staterooms, one full bath with shower and one 1/2 bath front crew (kids) room with bunk beds. The salon has a couch, dining table and a TV/DVD for evening enjoyment. The galley has a full refrigerator, kitchen sink, microwave and is fully equipped with other small appliances, plates, glasses, etc. There is a covered deck (fantail) for dining and harbor viewing.
Ventura Harbor Village is a lively fun neighborhood with lots of great restaurants, shops and even a comedy club. And the beaches near the harbor are some of the nicest in California. Ventura Harbor is also the best port of departure for visiting the Channel Islands, and is home to the Channel Islands National Park visitor center.
  • While the environment is beautiful, the accommodations are very old and dated. It is a bit like camping

    Jennifer2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our family really enjoyed this fun experience. It was great to be able to enjoy the boat atmosphere whilst being close to restaurants and shops. We would definitely do this again. Martha is a great host.

  • Our family with 2 kids (13 and 19) stayed here for 2 nights while traveling from LA to San Francisco. We enjoyed the convenience of shops and restaurants right off the dock and the beach only a short walk across the street. At night we had our choice of live entertainment from several of the restaurants. Jon made us feal right at home. Everything we needed was on the boat. It was a very comfortable stay.

  • I had an amazing stay at the Blackbird Cabin. It was so cozy and charming and beautifully decorated, and the location is AMAZING. I was in LA for work, and this was the perfect spot to get away, a quiet nook to unwind, but still within walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go. And Aline was the best hostess! She was so kind and took great care of me. Will definitely be back.

  • We loved staying at the Backbird Cabin. The decor is a pitch-perfect mash-up of midcentury modern and cabin rustic, and the location can't be beat for Venice. We would definitely stay there again!

  • Aline was a great host, very easy to communicate with and super hospitable. Her place was quiet, private and comfortable. We also loved the decor!

  • This is by far the best Airbnb I have stayed in. Great great location near shops and restaurants in Venice. The cabin itself is nestled in the middle of a lush quiet block. A has done an incredible job decorating the unit and was a thoughtful host. Highly recommend and hope to come back again!

Nestled in the Santa Monica Mountain Reserve only 6 miles to the heart of Malibu shops, Pacific Coast Highway, beaches and the 101 freeway. You have private entry to 2 bedrooms. Each room has a comfy queen bed, large double sliding closet for plenty of hanging and storage, dresser and a table. There's a bathroom with shower and bathtub and lots of soft towels & beach towels. A coffee & tea maker, a microwave, wifi, apple TVs , and a small fridge.
A large deck with dining table and chairs to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this natural setting within a canopy of live oak trees.
The neighborhood is great for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
  • We finished a road trip at Jeanne’s place and it was the nicest way to finish our trip. The location is nestled in Monte Nido in the middle of the Malibu Canyon (i.e. 15 min from the ocean and 15min from Calabasas/101), a dramatic gorge in the Santa Monica mountains. Jeanne’s house is a bit further into the hills off the main Canyon road, which makes it very quiet and in the nature. The rental location is attached to Jeanne’s house, but very private. It consists of two bedrooms and a bathroom linked by a short corridor. In addition detached from the main house, we had access to the Yoga studio. Both bedrooms have their own door with lock opening on a very nice and private wooden deck terrace overlooking the garden. The deck is provided with table chairs and parasol. The entire place was very clean. The towels were very good quality and more than we needed (incl. beach towels), the soap and shampoo of good brands, the beds very comfortable. The comments about Jeanne filling the fridge is an understatement. She totally spoiled us and was very friendly whilst non intrusive at all. We will come back next time we are in LA. Many thanks, Jeanne!

    Julien2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne is a wonderful host! This is an ideal place if you are looking for a bedroom and bathroom with lots of nice details. She provides Turkish bathrobes and towels, a refrigerator stocked with items and cookies, Keurig coffee machine, L’occitane soap and more. Outlets and USB next to bed.....lots of little things! There was no living room or kitchen for my stay but that’s clearly stated and wasn’t needed. It’s in a great location in a secluded area, but a bit tricky to find at night. The GPS and (Hidden by Airbnb) maps will find it if you drive slowly. You’ll need to set your AT&T for WIFI calling over the cabin WIFI. Look into setting it up. It’s free from AT&T and worked well. I would stay again. Thanks Jeanne!

    Ray2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place in an idyllic location very close to the beautiful beaches of Malibu and parks. It is tucked in a tree-filled area, adjacent to Jeanne's home. Jeanne wasa super-kind host, who even offered to show me around. Malibu/Calabasas! The place is super comfortable, with dozens of kind, small details that made me think that this is more than a businesss for the host, but an extension of her genuine kindness. I hope to again have the opprtunity to stay there.

    Michael2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • I 100% recommend staying here. The house was thoughtfully decorated and the extremely comfortable beds were loaded with pillows and blankets. Everything was taken care of and I was blown away by Jeanne's hospitality. You won't find a better place to stay!

    Jamie2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was the last airbnb of our tour and the best one! Jeanne is very friendly and caring for her guests: cookies were waiting for us as well as cheese, crakers, drinks etc... Although there are only two rooms, the accommodation is large enough for 4 people, because the terrace is a piece to live! We had all our meals on the terrace with squirrels and deer. The location is perfect for spending two afternoons on the Malibu beaches: 15 min from Malibu Pier and 25 from the beautiful Malibu Beach. We had a fantastic stay at Jeanne's lodge, our only regret: it did not stay another night.

    Laurent2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very quiet and relaxing cabin vibes. The rooms are super cute and comfy and fully stocked with anything you would need, from coffee to robes and even some snacks! You can tell Jeanne is very thoughtful through all the little things she did to get the rooms ready for our stay! I absolutely loved every minute of our stay. It might seem secluded but it is actually very accessible, and that goes for Uber’s and what not as well. The 2 rooms are right next to each other, with separate doors leading outside to the deck and inside to the private bathroom. This is definitely a great place for a mini-vacation! :)

    Elizabeth2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • You will not want to leave this property! Jeanne has thought of everything and made my weekend perfect. My son got a cut and needed first aid, Jeanne had everything and more in the medicine chest for us ! Jeanne left a delicious bottle of wine, cheese, water, coffee and more. This is a perfect space, clean, comfortable and well equipped.

  • Kane, Joanna, and Jesse are awesome. Super helpful and communicative even about things not related to the stay such as LA related questions I had. I instantly felt comfortable at the place even though I have never stayed there before and even with other people staying there too. Everything is straight forward and super easy. I would recommend it!

    Jenae2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse, Ruth and Steve are nice and friendly folks. The outdoor cabana was not a right choice as it was chilly and windy during those particular nights. The hosts were really sensitive to this and they provided extra blankets. There are many room options for staying in this home and next time i will make a better choice for sure. Rest all is pretty cool out there! Cheers to all :)

  • This place was awesome. Debbie has thought of everything. I highly recommend a stay here. We'll be back for sure.

    Meredith2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie was a great host, she made sure we had everything we needed for a very relaxing stay at the Bunk House on her lovely ranch: from home made butter and olive oil to fresh eggs and grapefruits. This place is amazing, so close to the city and yet so far away. Great hiking nearby. Stargazing at night is a must. Thank you Debbie for a great time on your ranch that has so many special places to enjoy. We will be back as promised! Andreas & Melanie

  • Quiet, clean, serene! Such a wonderful retreat! I had everything I needed: French press, hotplate, toaster oven, microwave, 2 refrigerators, clean linen, clean everything.... Beautiful sweet animals, nice & accommodating hosts.... Loved this place. Just a short drive to the beach but could have easily stayed on the property the entire time. Will definitely be returning. Thank you Debbie!!!

    Han2014-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • My bf, myself and our tiny dog arrived on Thanksgiving and stayed 2 nights in the bunkhouse. The property is so nice, you can tell so much care and personal effort have gone into making it what it is. The views are beautiful. The animals are friendly and in general, it was just so nice to be surrounded by nature. The bunkhouse sleeps 2 perfectly, we enjoyed having a microwave, hot plate and shower since we were staying 3 days. We got our fresh eggs and had coffee every morning with amazing pastries. Debbie cooked Thanksgiving dinner that was to die for. We gathered with the other guests around the evening fire in the amazing multiple outdoor living areas. During the day we relaxed alone, never leaving the property. It was a restful, peaceful wonderful retreat. I would be comfortable coming alone and also think children would enjoy it as well. Coming in it's lovely to take PCH to see Malibu, leaving going down into Westlake Village to shop and eat is nice. Great Spirits is a great glamping spot and retreat for folks who maybe aren't great at "roughing it" but want to enjoy nature. Will def be back! Thank you Debbie!

    Anna2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a dreamy getaway this place is! My husband and I needed a quiet place to get away to without a ton of prep or travel time involved (we live in LA so this was a little less than an hour away) and The Bunk House at Great Spirits Ranch was everything we could have hoped for. We love camping and do a lot of it but sometimes you need something just a bit easier, ya know? The description is totally accurate - if you're not into some level of country living then this place might not be for you. But if you find luxury in things like fresh eggs, cream and butter waiting for you, delicious coffee served all day long, cooking over fire, incredible sunsets, warm breezes in the tops of the eucalyptus, abundant flowers everywhere you turn, hours on end to do as you please (not sure the last time we could just sit and read), and the company of sweet horses, silly goats, snuggly donkeys, shy llama, and others, then you might like it here, too! We love traveling with our two dogs and they were so welcome here. Pretty sure all dogs leave the ranch tired. Ours sure did! Debbie provided dog bowls and offers dog beds, too. We felt so welcomed at the ranch and are already thinking about when we can return with friends and rent the Bunk House and the Tent! Such a magical space, I highly recommend it if this is your vacation style.

    Lauren2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • As if being surrounded by natural gorgeous views, perfect sunsets and wide open sky weren't enough... add to it super friendly hosts, cozy & clean accommodations and the most gentle, lovable animals you'll ever meet....The Ranch was AMAZING. Don't waste your time going into town. Gather everything you need for the weekend, shut off your devices and relax. It's the perfect weekend getaway.

    Stephanie2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the bunkhouse, which was cute, clean, and cozy. The outdoor toilet across the way was also very clean. The many outdoor sitting areas are all very nice, though it rained while we were there, so we did not get to fully enjoy the great deck and granite table areas. The wood stove worked well and kept us warm. The ranch is beautiful with wonderful views and Debbie is very welcoming and easy to communicate with. She brought us eggs, cream, and butter, all made on the farm, as well as homemade pastries. This property is perfect for people who are looking for a quiet getaway and who like animals. It's about 10 minutes from Westlake Village and about 20 minutes to Zuma beach. We would stay there again, as well as recommend it.

    Suzanne2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly welcoming and the most amazing place to land! Debbie made sure I was comfortable and all set from the get go and left wonderful eggs and dairy from the ranch. The space was super sweet and so thoughtfully built and cared for, that it became my cozy hideaway for a few extras nights. If you like a ranch experience where the land and animals are treated in utmost respect, then I highly recommend it.

Charming, rustic and spacious bungalow/cabin in highly scenic and very cool Topanga Canyon. Located off Old Topanga Canyon Road just a 3-minute drive to Topanga's town center. The 1,500 square foot cabin was featured in the book: Surf Shacks: An Eclectic Compilation of Surfers Homes from Coast to Coast. Carefully appointed with an array of antiques ranging from original 1930's Stickley chairs to a large assortment of Navajo rugs. Please no parties, pets or smoking.
The house consists of a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, bedroom and a large, high-ceiling living room. There is also a second floor attic space with an additional bed if needed. Rustic in nature yet thoughtfully designed, the home offers a quintessential Topanga living experience. There is a second floor/attic type space with a queen bed that is considered the 2nd bedroom. It’s a pretty space with lots of natural light but the stairs to-and-from are very steep. It can also be warm in the summer months. Not suitable for children.
Topanga Canyon is a very special, sought-after community nestled in the Santa Monica mountains. Topanga is known for it's natural beauty and bohemian spirit. It takes approximately 8 minutes to reach PCH from the town center.

Staying here was an enjoyable, unique experience for a very affordable price with fast WiFi and positive energy. Definitely recommend

My boyfriend and I would stay here again without any hesitation. It's also a space I would consider staying long term if necessary. We just knew it was gonna be great vibes when we walked in. • I am moving back to LA very soon. The vibe of this house is so awesome, I plan to rent a cabin on some weekends, after I get my own place. The hosts and other guests were absolutely amazing. Great comfortable beds and cabins, clean, all around great place to be. I cannot endorse this place enough. I had zero negative issues.

    JLouis2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • The bed was awefully uncomfortable you always roll to the middle and the 'mattress' is super thin. Both of us had a pain in the back after sleeping there. Be aware that you sleep outside and it was super freezing during the night. We couldn't really tell who was working there and who was guest. The communication over the app was good and the location is okay.

  • We used Tracy's home for an overflow for a family reunion and it suited us perfectly. The home is beautifully decorated and the beds are comfortable. It was quite wam those few days so it's great to have central air conditioning. As another previous guest has mentioned it's nice to be family as if there is someone sleeping in the daybed he or she has to walk through a bedroom to get to a bathroom. There is only one working stand up shower but Tracy says she is working on making a shower available in the other bathtub. All in all it was a terrific place for us and very conveniently located. Tracy was responsive and available if we had any questions. It's great to know that this lovely home is available if we have any more overflow houseguests!

  • Beautiful, conveniently located, and pristine appointments. Highly recommend.

    Jeni2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's house is stunning. Beautifully laid-out, it's spacious and intimate at the same time. Fine quality and attention to detail is present in every single aspect of the house. It is a cabin home, and though it is rustic, the design and decor give it a luxe, plush feel as well. It has a secluded atmosphere in that it's very quiet and peaceful, but it is in a populated neighborhood, right off of a main road in the hills. There are 2 outdoor areas for peaceful relaxation with nice views of the mountains and sunset - 1 a grassy area outside of the kitchen and one of the bedrooms, and the 2nd a lovely deck outside of the other bedroom. The first restaurant is about a 5 minute drive away, and the house is about a 10-15 minute drive away from some major shopping areas and restaurants. Some local restaurants do deliver as well. Every amenity is taken care of, from toiletries to towels to a kindly stocked kitchen. The television has cable and lots of options for viewing - we brought our Firestick. The house itself has 2 very comfortable bedrooms that get gorgeous morning light, a modern kitchen (with Nespresso machine), a dining area and fireplace, a peaceful reading nook with another comfortable daybed off of the main room, and a couch in the living area that made us want to stay up all night watching movies. I would stay in the house again JUST for the reading nook. Tracy was very kind, thoughtful and hospitable. We ran into some heavy traffic on the way there, and Tracy and her husband were so amenable and gracious. We got to meet Tracy when we arrived, and she gave us a tour of the house, showed us how all of the fixtures worked, and gave us a general idea of the area. She made us aware of a tenant, a young family friend who occupies the downstairs floor of the home with his own entrances, etc, but we never met him at all and he was very quiet. If she didn't tell us, we wouldn't have known he was there. She was available throughout our stay for any other questions we had. Inside the house, they had every amenity, every need so carefully considered. It made the stay so easy, comfortable and we felt well-taken care of. Overall, we had a really great time at a very beautiful house. We'll be back soon! Idara

  • What a little piece of heaven Tracy's cabin is. The location is gorgeous. And every detail of the house is beautiful. Tracy was a wonderful host. She even left fresh flowers in our bedroom and some breakfast treats for us to enjoy. Just a perfect experience!!! Thank you Tracy!!!

  • I have spent my lifetime in the design industry and I appreciate when a property is well done. I am so impressed with the sophistication of design and effort that went into this home. It is a "rustic cabin", but it has been carefully upgraded to bring it into 21st century design without trampling on the grace of its' past. Period details were retained and the choice of materials for the updates were picked with care. The bathrooms are beautifully tiled and updated with white porcelain pedestal sinks, glassed in shower, and vanities that complement the past. The kitchen is a marvel of rough hewn wood and stainless steel appliances topped off by a copper farmers sink. It was a joy to cook in. And if you can tear yourself away from the comforts of the interior there are three decks with three totally different outlooks. Our favorite was the back deck that looked over an ancient wisteria vine onto a beautiful green lawn. There are pebble walkways all around the property complimented with old stone walls. Just a magical place to be. Our host provided us with every amenity that a top hotel would: feather comforters and pillows and lush towels. Nothing was left to chance. We cannot wait to come back to this perfect hideaway.

  • Jill's place is a magical spot where you truly can feel away from it all. Wake up to the most incredible birdsong, take hikes, or just sit in one of the daybeds and read and stare out at the hills and ocean below. If you are looking for a rustic cottage, love an outdoor shower covered in roses, and think an evening by the outdoor fireplace and hot tub sound great, this is your spot. Sparky and Jill could not have been nicer hosts- it was really special. Thank you!

  • We really enjoyed our stay! The AirB&B was even nicer in person than we expected. So many nice & thoughtful touches throughout cottage. Although we didn't cook any meals the kitchen was fully stocked. The ocean views were amazing. The jacuzzi & outdoor fireplace was so relaxing after a long day. Jill was easy to communicate with and greeted us promptly upon arrival. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Malibu area.

    Tammy2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a secluded getaway with a gorgeous view and ultimate privacy, this place is for you! Jillian was wonderful and incredibly accommodating. The house was adorable and comfortable - the coastal facing wall is a row of windows, so you are pretty much looking at a breathtaking view of the ocean from any spot in the cottage . Cell service is a little tough, getting a lyft or uber was a little challenging (but successful in the end!) and there really aren't a ton of options for food delivery. But if you're looking for a quiet weekend in (there's a grocery store close by & an amazing breakfast burrito spot I'd highly recommend - thanks for the tip, Jillian!) then book this spot immediately!

    Nikole2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • STAY HERE IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE!!! Jill's cottage is truly one of the best Airbnb's I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. We had a party of 4 celebrating a very relaxing bachelorette party, and the views are truly breathtaking. The pictures don't do the space justice. Everything, including the hot tub, was ready for us when we got there, and a bottle of wine and cheese were waiting for us as well (which were both delicious). We took advantage of the hot tub and outdoor fireplace each night as well as used the hot outdoor showers in the morning (HIGHLY recommend). It couldn't have been a more perfect location for a secluded getaway. Our bride to be took the bed in the bedroom, and the rest of us slept on the day beds in the main room, which were very cozy. We weren't able to take advantage of the trails nearby, but we did walk down about 10 min to grab an Uber (we wanted the walk and thought it would be easier to grab an Uber closer to the main road), which in itself provided gorgeous views. Jill and Sparky were very communicative and always reachable by phone or text, too. We surely hope we'll be able to come back soon!

Guesthouse with own entrance. Free bikes, free pool in nearby yacht Club, optional 18 ft/ 75HP powerboat in Marina Del Rey. Guesthouse is small, but has loft with queen size bed, pull out sofa, kitchenette, bath, Wireless and AppleTV
The space is relatively small but brand new and cozy. We recommend the space for 2 adults. In the loft you will find a queen bed and below a pull out sofa. There is a kitchenette, bathroom w/ shower, Internet and Apple TV. The yard is not part of the rental, but we made a little private seating area where you can enjoy breakfast and dinner outside.
It is a quiet residential neighborhood with everything you need to have a great experience in LA. Easy access to freeways, Parks, Beach, Shopping, cafes etc. Only a park and one cafe are walking distance - the rest you should use the bike or your car to get to.
  • First of all I want to say that my overall experience was really great! I especially enjoyed sleep at the house because area is very quiet and the air is very fresh for LA. Hosts were nice and understanding. They provided help and information whenever I needed it. The place itself was small, but clean and well organized. However, staying for a month there was a little bit hard. Though, I am sure that shorter periods of time will be very pleasant. Another notice. Neither me or my daughter found it disturbing, but since the house is located in a rather green area, there were few spiders. Again, it wasn't a problem neither for me or my daughter, but I thought it's important thing to say. At the end: friendly hosts, clean little house at very nice area, great sleep and nice rest are guaranteed.

  • We stayed in this lovely guesthouse for 11 wonderful nights. Fredrick and Karolyn were exceptionally welcoming and friendly anything that we needed they were more than happy to help us with. They made us feel very comfortable during our stay. The place was brand new and kept immaculate. We enjoyed all of the facilities provided. The wifi was excellent and we made very good use of the complimentary Netflix and HBO.. Perfect for relaxing nights in. We had no problem cooking ourselves meals using the hotplate and microwave provided. There was more than enough kitchenware (plates, glasses etc) for us to use. The bed was both large and very comfortable. They provided us with bikes which was an excellent addition for us and other people without a car. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend to others!

  • Carolyn and Fredrik are great hosts and have a lovely family! They were very accommodating and helpful. I was at their guesthouse for 3 months which was tough with the size but it's perfect for just one person and for either temporary or a month or 2! The bed is super comfy too! And the giant tv was always nice to come home to after a long day of work!

Our guesthouse/cabin was originally a hay barn and tack room for our horses. It's been converted into a very private, 450sq. foot space with a separate kitchen and bath. The deck faces the ocean which sends up cooling, soft breezes day and night.
We still call the space "The Barn" and it's proved to be an inspiring, highly creative space for writers and musicians. It's situated away from the main house and pool area and has its own parking area. We're definitely in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains with an abundance of wildlife and birds. Our 10-acre ranch is at the end of a private road (very little traffic) and looks out to Topanga State Park plus it's next to many amazing hiking opportunities. Jaw-dropping views down to the ocean nestled in the midst of the mountains. These photos can't capture the spectacular surroundings. The kitchen is equipped with a 2-burner hotplate, a small fridge, a toaster over, stainless steel cookware and all the dishes and utensils one or two people need for simple cooking. There is no microwave as we aim to reduce everyone's exposure to unnecessary rays (EMRs). The shower has on-demand hot water and plenty of pressure. We converted and plumbed a galvanized horse trough -- it's a beaut of a shower. The linens are 100% cotton, often organic and are always air-dried in our nearly non-stop sun for maximum freshness. Your sheets and towels will be changed each week.
It's wild with lots of undeveloped land all around. All the properties on the private road are a minimum of 10 acres, many with horses. One route to the house is on one of the area's last dirt roads. There is also a newly paved road which is the one we send directions to. Friendly neighbors hike and ride by. We're all conscious of our fragile environment and go to extremes to protect it.

    Annie2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Randi was kind enough to confirm my accommodations last minute. While I understand I was the first guest at the barn, I would like to mention some issues to help future potential guests and Randi as a host. Firstly, DO NOT follow your GPS. Make sure to get directions from Mulholland unless you have a 4WD. The roads are remote and rustic as is the barn, which has many open exposures to elements. Expect spiders, insects, and lizards (startling buggers!) inside the barn. The bathtub/shower had 2 mins of hot water before cutting cold and then back to nuclear hot after another few minutes. The shower floor made of a recovered horse trough is not pitched correctly and slippery, so be careful not to fall as I did a few times. Not having a proper shower made the long stay difficult. Though Randi is kind, there is not really privacy one would expect in a rural setting. Her compound has multiple guests (trailers spread through property, etc.), and the barn sits right on the street and currently has no ability to be locked. I felt this was a serious security issue with the mountain folk lingering in Topanga. Although the ad touts Ocean View, there is no Ocean View even on a clear day. The view of the mountains is however gorgeous. The pool/Jacuzzi set up is a bit removed from the barn and were not clean enough for my use or taste, and the cabin space itself also was full of cobwebs and had not been cleaned in probably months. The sheets and towel provided were fresh, and the bed comfortable. The value of the price did not at all make up for the drawbacks experienced, which I pointed out to Randi during my stay on one of her (too many) check ins on me. I am sure, having been the first guest at the barn, these issues will be addressed.

    Safa Ryan2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great views and lots of privacy. Randi was very welcoming but not at all intrusive. A great place to get some work done on my computer while also having easy access to hiking, etc.

  • What a lovely, peaceful place. On top of a mountain 20 minutes from Santa Monica. Hosts seemed very nice - only ran into them a couple times. "Rustic" is an accurate description, but the place was very comfortable. Wonderful sunshine and light in the morning through the early afternoon and lots of great lighting.

    Gregry2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at "The Barn" in Topanga Canyon was one the most inspiring holidays I ever had. I've been to many countries and had been particurlarly in Los Angeles for eight times, but this was exceptional! First of all, this place gives you everything that Randi's text and the fotos promised: It's a place to cool down, to stay in a very quiet part in this huge and vibrant Los Angeles area. The house has two rooms with a lovely rustic flair and wooden floors and walls that are manufactured very artful. The porch overlooking the caynon was the most relaxing and creative place for me. You could meditate, write, take a sunbath or just enjoy the great sight which includes the pacific ocean and even the lights of the long beach bay. Inside there's everything you need for one or two persons, including a very good working Wifi. Considering other comments of an immenent danger from small animals or a slippery bathtub: neither this nor that encountered me - the bathtub manufactured of a horses trough was functional and a beautiful detail. During my 13-nights-long stay there was really not a single spider or s.th. in the room, I just once saw a little rabbit and a little gecko outside (not very much in a rural landscape;-) . And the "street" were the barn is located is a private way which is passed by only three or four cars - not per minute like in other so-called quiet parts of LA, but per whole day. There's a nice community that spreads from the village of Topanga to the mountains up here. Important for me because two of Randis closer neighbours helped me very much by making great efforts together to pull my car out from a stone I've hooked up. You can spend your days around the barn or join the fresh (and clean) pool at the other house on the property which is only 250 feet away. Always inspiring and helpful conversations with the hosts included. And if someone don't want to stay at the pool or at the barn - this place in Topanga is around 10 miles away from the beaches of Santa Monica or Malibu. I experienced the barn as a very relaxed retreat, but it was also a great starting point for visiting cultural places ("Villa Aurora" and the "Eames House" in Pacific Palisades nearby) and doing also an unforgettable surf lesson in malibu. Conclusion: A very good vacation spot with caring hosts, at a reasonable price and for many needs in a wide variety – relaxing, sightseeing and fun.

  • I absolutely LOVED my stay (2 months). Nothing compares to the experience of living in the mountains, detached from civilization, waking up to million dollar views right out your window! This one-of-a-kind unit is exactly as it's described. It's super rustic and the wood burning fireplace was one of my favorite amenities. The first couple days I enjoyed the beautiful pool, but the cold weather rolled in fast (Oct/Nov) so that was short lived. Plus, the hot tub is not an amenity offered with this listing, which would have been amazing. I got to meet Randi on my last day. She was super kind and loving - as was Jennifer who was also very accommodating during my stay. Thank you both for sharing this magical space with me!! If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this place is absolutely amazing!

We feel lucky to live on a compound of cottages in the middle of the Oakwood area of Venice Beach which feels like a community. We cannot think of a better place to live.
The compound itself is made up of seven units, four of them 40’s cottages and two of those are now offered as vacation rentals. The owners, Allan, a Canadian film-maker and Chiyoko, a Japanese writer, live on the site and have created a way of living they are happy to share. Each unit overlooks a small private sitting garden and larger communal gardens are nearby. Various tables and fire pits invite intimate or expansive al fresco dining. A Balinese daybed is for chilling or outdoor sleeping. The compound was recently on the famous Venice House & Garden Tour and the local newspaper called it ‘most enticing’. Also it was used as a location for several films. Vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. Fully furnished for elegant living, the kitchen is equipped with an espresso machine, filtered water, martini glasses, etc. A queen sized bed, linens and towels are provided, free do-it-yourself laundry, free high speed internet and cable, free loan of bicycles, free fully enclosed parking for one car, DVD and book library and a breakfast bar. Friendly and arty neighbors. Cats and non barking dogs are welcomed. If in doubt about barking the answer is "So sorry but the peace and quiet of the other guests is paramount." The property is in the center of Venice’s semi-secret Oakwood area which has the highest number of artists per capita outside of NYC's Soho area. It is a neighborhood where locals have pride of place and greet each other as they walk, skate and bike around. Local attractions are Gold’s flagship gym and across the street is (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Dozens of yoga and Pilates studios are within stretching distance. Don’t miss what’s left of the canals which gave Venice its name. The brand new skateboarding park is next to the original Muscle Beach. Some say the biggest local attraction is the beach others say it’s the swarming bikini boardwalk next to it. Both are five blocks away. Oakwood is anchored by Abbot Kinney Boulevard (named after the visionary who built Venice as a summer get-away from Los Angeles.) This strip was recently called ‘the hippest street in America’ by GQ. The ‘next big thing’ is nearby Rose Avenue where healthy food and drink is the agenda. Neighborhoods to the north are trendy Santa Monica, laid-back Malibu and rustic Topanga. To the east is Lincoln Boulevard with ‘the sexiest Whole Foods on planet earth” sez the LA Times. Also a plethora of pot shops and tattoo emporiums. To the south are Marina Del Ray for sailing and Culver City for galleries. The Santa Monica Freeway takes you downtown in 25 minutes and the Pacific Coast Highway can drop you at the airport in 15 minutes. What else? Venice Love is a certain relaxed funkiness, it’s ten kinds of fruit trees, nine chimes, seven kinds of bamboo, six fountains, three fire pits, two BBQ grills and a brown hen who lays eggs. It’s all very Venice Beach so it’s not for everybody but it may be perfect for the right person. Chat through Airbnb or call us directly with any questions. Allan or Chiyoko 310 and 581 and 7951
Our little local strip (Abbot Kenny Boulevard) was once called 'the coolest main street' in America in GQ magazine.
  • Staying with Allan and Chiyoko was great! Very fun couple, beautiful cottage and garden, helpfull friends. They are openminded, dynamic people, easy to talk and hang out with. We had a great time in Venice, but Allan and Chiyoko made it special! ♥

  • Allan and Chiyoko were very welcoming and easily available by phone. The cottage was cozy and cute and the neighbors were friendly and helpful. Locked access to the compound sets a tone of safety. Easy walk to Venice beach, and if you feel like continuing your walk, Santa Monica is right down the road!

  • We had a great stay. The location was very convenient -close to shopping and restaurants. We took full advantage of the full kitchen. When we arrived very late we were so happy to find some snacks and even a bottle of wine waiting for us. We hope to stay again the next time we visit LA.

  • I loved staying a Allan's place. It is a unique compound and although it is in the midst of all things happening it is peaceful and quite. Just a stones throw from Abbot Kinney, Guista and Rose it is quite convenient. If you are a walker as I am Whole Foods only a half a mile away. I will be back!

  • We had a great time at Allan and Chiyoko's place. We loved the cosy cottage and the compound was very charming and full with cute dogs. We had breakfast out in the sun every morning - amazing! We wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks for hosting us!
