  • This apartment is fantastic. The situation we were in was awful. Coronavirus had exploded and all activities cancelled. What a pleasure to have a comfortable and cool place to hang out given those circumstances. FYI. Dasha and Owen and team are there for any needs you may have.

  • Highly recommend. I would stay here again just for the bed. I stayed here right after a trip out of the country & before another trip. I felt relaxed in this space as I worked through my jet lag.

  • Everything about our stay was wonderful. Tom was so lovely to meet and he respected our privacy during our entire stay. The cottage was spotless and very cozy. Everything we would've needed was provided for us and we really appreciated the extra brochures he left out! We would definitely stay here again :)

    Jenia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful & romantic getaway spot! We liked it so much the first night that we decided to extend our stay! 10/10 would recommend! We’ll definitely remember this place next time we want to stay in Gravenhurst :)

    Emma2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I decided to stay at Tom’s place this winter and I am beyond thankful we did. Not only is Tom’s home even more beautiful in person, but his kindness and hospitality made the experience even better (especially getting to meet his dog). The cottage is close to town and all necessities, and is the perfect relaxing get away for any couple or individual. I can’t wait to come back, and definitely plan to. Do yourself a favour and book this cottage ASAP.

  • Perfect place to be!

  • This year we decided to spend a few nights at this beautiful cottage in the winter. We had an amazing time. The cottage is very cozy and seeing the snow outside was just beautiful. The perfect little weekend winter getaway. Can’t wait to come back in August!

    Maia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Everything is as expected; cozy, very stylized with nice decor. The kitchen is fully stocked and it was a comfortable stay. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive when our vehicle got stuck in the ditch. He was kind enough to help us shovel and push the car out in the cold. Would definitely book this place again.

    Michael2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's place was fantastic and while we knew we were in for a nice-looking space, we were surprised with how big it was and with the extra touches, such as a very comfy bed, fluffy towels, and a very soft throw blanket. We forgot our Chromecast, but luckily Tom had a big TV with cable. Everything is really as promised - great shower, big deck, close to downtown Gravenhurst, etc. Exactly the place we were looking for!

Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River.
Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River. Peaceful and cozy craftsman style cabin in the woods overlooking the Pere Marquette river. Large windows on the riverside allow for a spectacular view of the river and lovely sunrises. The cabin has central AC and central heat, but there is NO TV or Internet/WiFi. The kitchen is well stocked with most cooking essentials. There is a tea kettle, various coffee pots, coffee bean grinder, dishes, pans, small refrigerator, and small functioning vintage stove. Freshly laundered bed linens, blankets and towels are provided. The town grocery store is conviently located less than a mile from the cabin. Both bedrooms have a full size mattresses. There is also a futon in the living room that could be used for additional guests. There is a 2 person tandem kayak, canoe and fishing poles are available at the cabin and are free for guest use. The burn ring by the river and a fire pit on the property that can be used for bonfires or roasting marshmallows. A door code enables guests to check themselves in after 3pm. We are available by text/email or phone during their stay if there any problems or questions. The cabin is located in Baldwin which is a small rural town that has very limited attractions or resturants, but makes for quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Cabin is located on Pere Marquette river which is a designated "National Wild and Scenic" river and is world renowned for excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout and Steelhead. The river section directly in front of the cabin is open for fishing only during the last weekend in April to end of September (trout season). It is also a very popular river for canoes and kayakers since it is steady and considerably clear which is perfect for paddlers with basic skills. The cabin is located about a 2 minute drive from the closest 'open all year round' river location. The cabin is 1.5 hour drive from Traverse City (Wine tasting, beaches, cherry orchards) and/or Grand Rapids MI (Art prize, Fredrick Meijer sculpture Gardens). It is also 45 Min. drive from Ludington which has miles of public beach on Lake Michigan. Pleae note there is a approx. 50 yard walk from the driveway to the cabin. Smoking inside the cabin is not allowed. Pets are ok with the following considerations: no wet dogs in the cabin (most dogs love swimming in the river), no pets on the furniture and up to date flea control is appreciated. The cabin is located 3.5 miles from the start of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail which is a excellent mountain biking and hiking trail.
The cabin is located in Lake County which is over half state (Pere Marquette State Forest) and federal land (Manistee National Forest) with endless hiking opportunities. The cabin is located very close to the North Country National Scenic Trail. There are multiple sections of the North Country trail that allow mountain biking and also the Big M trail is nearby. The cabin is located near the small town of Baldwin which has very limited attractions and no notable restaurants therefore this is not the place to come for man made sightseeing that is nearby.
  • This cabin is simply magical and the setting is idyllic. If you are looking for a quiet retreat and want to disconnect from the noise of our day to day lives this is the place for you.

  • A lovely place to stay. I highly recommend staying in the fall. The trees are beautiful when they are changing colors. Waking up every morning to a cup of coffee while watching the fish swim in the river is very serene. We enjoyed hiking. It is very convenient having the grocery store so close too. A perfect fall getaway.

    Syed2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I LOVED this apartment. It was so cute and chic. The bed was insanely comfortable. I slept so well. The check-in instructions were long due to it being an apartment but very detailed and easy to follow. The only thing is we didn’t have any toilet paper haha but no big deal because we checked in extremely late and didn’t want to bother the host. I’m sure they would have taken care of it immediately had we contacted them. Over all, the stay, although short, was extremely comfy and cozy and I will absolutely stay here again in the future

    Taylar2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay! Really worth the price and very convenient location. City Cafe is in walking distance and has amazing breakfast food! I felt like I was apart of the community and not a visitor! Also keep in mind pricey lyfts into the city and back!

  • Stephen's place was a great spot for my family vacation. It was super accessible, modern and cozy. It was better in person than in the pictures! We loved that it was dog friendly and went to local trails for walks! I would recommend some sort of memory foam topper for the upstairs beds. Stephen was a kind host and can't wait to return!

    Jade2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen was a great communicator, and the place was very nice and well appointed. We enjoyed the wood stove, DVD collection, and comfortable beds during our winter getaway. Would definitely recommend and we hope to come back in another season!

  • Stephen’s cabin was the perfect winter weekend getaway. The space was warm, inviting and incredibly clean. From snowshoeing on the lake, toasty fires in the wood stove and a visit to Silent Lake Provincial Park to walk some of their beautiful trails, this cabin gave us the relaxing, unplugged weekend we were looking for. Stephen was an excellent host, with thoughtful touches and quick responses, he made this experience one that we’ll definitely repeat.

  • Stephen’s place is absolutely amazing! He thought of everything and anything that’s needed. His home is well equipped with thoughtful touches ranging from a welcome note to a first aid kit! He even had a binder with clear instructions and tips for local hangouts! Overall, his quick responses were impressive and I will definitely head back to Stephen’s cottage in the summer time!

    Luba2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I spent an amazing weekend in this cozy cabin with a group of friends. It was very clean and comfortable on a nice property overlooking the lake. With a wood burning stove in the living room area, as well as heating, we were very warm through the snowstorm. This place is beautiful in the winter, and we hope to come back and stay sometime this summer. Stephen was very helpful before and during our stay, with prompt and thorough responses. Everything was as described, and the cabin had many thoughtful touches and provided everything we could have needed. The cabin sleeps around 6 people, and would work for a family or group of friends. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway in nature.

  • Apartment was clean and comfortable. Free parking spot in the back was a plus. I mainly chose this place since it was less expensive than most Chicago Airbnb’s, however I didn’t realize how far it would actually be from downtown. 20 minute walk to Logan Square train station then a 15-20 minute ride to downtown. I would recommend this place if you don’t necessarily care about being super close to downtown. Overall, I was pleased with my stay but wasn’t prepared for the commute.

Dates scooped? Worry not! We've got two other Muskoka lakeside cottages with similar loveliness - just click our profile picture above for all the details :) - Outdoor Hot Tub - Lakeside Sauna - Games Room with pool table & more - Sandy beach - Log fireplaces & fire pit - Family owned & adored - Wifi internet - Close to Toronto (~90 mins) - Open year round
"The best thing to hold onto in life is each other" -- Audrey Hepburn Trenanthia Cottage is a fun loving, hot tubbing, sauna steaming & fire crackling cottage to help ya smile a little broader, laugh a little louder & live a little bigger! We've been renting to lovely folks for over a dozen years. Take a look around our website for oodles of photos of our "OG" cottage (Original Grandma, of course) and reach out for more info on our "New Cottage" & "Woody" Cottage - all three are similarly fab Muskoka lakeside cottages. Just search the internet for Trenanthia Cottage and voilà (or stalk us on social media :) Life is bigger™ when we connect
People have been coming to vacation in Muskoka since the 19th century. And why not when there's so much natural entertainment to choose from? Gather your friends & family to share canoeing, fishing, playing horseshoes & volleyball, building sand castles on the beach or a round of good old fashioned board games. Even when it's cold outside, make memories to keep you warm: ice-fishing, skating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snow fort building or our personal favourite, building massive snowpeople :)

*Please read to the end before booking* Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors, pillars and steam pipes are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area (an urban explorer’s dream) Within a 10 min drive to you can get to everything Detroit has to offer. My loft and I were featured in AirbnbMag November 2018!!
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. At the moment it is ideal for couples or 2 people who are ok sharing the bed on the ground floor. The upstairs area is off limits until spring, because it gets very warm up there from the steampipes. This is stands until amount mid April. Sleeping arrangements: • Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress • Sofa for 1 (not too tall) •WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C, radiators, fans for temp control
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars, but there are still industrial in-use buildings. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, say it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • This space is the perfect Bohemian oasis for anyone looking for this aesthetic. The natural textures, bright colors and gold accents made for a lovely photoshoot with my wellness clients. There were also a few plants in the space that made for great props. I will be back!

    Bailey2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The heat was fairly high, which I found very cozy but might be too much for some. Although it definitely is not in Georgia’s control, we did have an issue with the upstairs neighbors making a fair amount of noise, it sounded like running. But for everything Georgia can do, it was great!

    Amelia2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay if you want to explore downtown Detroit. Only a 5-10 minute Uber away from downtown. Very stylish place, really well decorated! Would highly recommend staying here. Host is very friendly too

  • This was a great place, glad we stayed here. Georgia was a great host that I would highly recommend.

    Cade2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia's place is so cute! We loved the decor and it was very clean and comfortable. Georgia warns you about how hot it gets in the apartment, and she's right! That might be the only downside...but the building is really cool and it's a unique place to stay in Detroit. She was very responsive and a great host.

    Sierra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Georgia’s place is great! Super stylish and well put together. Her description of the space was spot on and the space fit our needs perfectly. We will definitely be back

Unique treehouse cabin with all amenities inspired by forest ranger lookout. Though not actually attached to a tree, the outpost treehouse sits in a white pine forest in the middle of a 65 acre active farm. The 15 hand crafted windows allow for great views watching out for Michigan wildlife--White tail deer, turkeys, owls, coyote have all been spotted from the elevated wrap around deck.
The lookout inspired outpost has all the modern amenities--Air conditioning, furnace, private bath with shower, hot and cold running water. Solar power is used for interior lights. The 14x14 room has a queen size bed (which can be separated if requested to make bench style seating and doubles as 2 single beds (30” x 76”), a comfy chair, buffet cabinet with bar sink, small refrigerator for drinks and coffee maker. The refrigerator is quite small so bring a cooler and ice if you bring perishable food. There are no cooking facilities in the treehouse but there is a gas grill outside. There is also a fire pit. Bring wood so you can enjoy an evening by the fire. The ground level is the “mechanical “ room and the bathroom.
Secluded rural setting but only a short drive to “city life”. Some things to see and do within 30 minutes : Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Binder Park Zoo (Battle Creek), Kingman Museum ( Battle Creek), Critchlow Alligator Farm (Athens). Within 15 minutes of Binder Park Golf Course and many restaurants in Battle Creek
  • This place is so great that we just had to come back again!

    Kayla2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A must stay! Stan and Deb are super hosts! The outpost is absolutely stunning, very clean and a magical experience all around. Deb’s attention to detail and thoughtfulness made for the perfect weekend getaway! We cannot wait to come back next year.

    Amber-Lynn2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a unique, beautiful location Stan and Deb have made! The craftsmanship and beauty of the cabin will have you amazed from the minute you walk in the door. They have thought of every detail to make your stay as comfortable as possible! Crystal clean. Deb bakes delicious home made breakfast treats each morning! There is also nice areas to take a short hike right on the property. The campfire was even more fun Deb even left a s’mores kit for our family! We can’t say enough good about this place. Get ready to unplug and refresh!

Stan and Deb are great & we’re quick with responses & the breakfast goodies are amazing too! This was the perfect weekend getaway close to home!! We hope to be back in the summer months when there’s more to explore! If you are thinking about booking a trip here, stop thinking and do it, you won’t be disappointed! 😊

This 200 ft. tiny house is tucked nicely away in the beautiful northern Michigan woods. Its light and airy space is comfy and bright, without being too constricting, it is only a 2.5 miles from downtown Charlevoix.
There is a ladder provided to access both the sleeping loft as well as the storage loft. In-wall heaters are readily usable and easy to function.
The neighborhood is quiet and simple. The tiny house is far enough from the road that makes it free from distractions, but close enough to town if you are interested in grabbing a bite to eat, going to a concert, or jumping into the lake.
  • A tiny woodland paradise! 100%, would definitely recommend.

    Lindsey2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! The tiny home was amazing in itself! I loved seeing a few books on Tiny Homes on the property which was fun to read while being in one. Elizabeth was great every step of the way. We didn't get in until dark and didn't park in a great spot so when it rained all day the next day our small car couldn't handle getting back up the muddy incline and Elizabeth called her grandpa and he was there within minutes to help us and we were on our way! We would have been waiting there for another hour or 2 for Triple A if Elizabeth hadn't called to get us help. We would definitely stay there again!

    Deanna2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • we absolutely LOVED staying in the tiny house! It is absolutely beautiful with all so many thoughtful touches and features that make it feel homey! The kitchen had everything you need and was fully stocked with breakfast items. The window bench in the living room is a perfect place to watch nature or read a book. The tiny house inspired me to add a few things to my home. I loved how there’s books on tiny houses and the inspiring quotes and scripture. This was probably the best airbnb stay I had! It’s amazing how you could fit everything you have in a traditional home in this tiny house. It’s close to town. I would definitely recommend staying here!

    Briana2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ellies place is amazing. She is quick to respond. Very helpful. The tiny house had many thoughtful touches. Fixings for smores and firewood was provided and even breakfast fixing. Elizabeth has definitely went above and what is expected of a host! We will definitely stay again!

  • My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Very relaxing and a great opportunity to cozy up by a fire, listen to a record, and relax. The space is very well kept and Elizabeth works hard to make your stay amazing.

  • A very fun and unique experience! We appreciated the extra touches, such as the provided breakfast items and snacks. The record player was also an unexpected, but neat amenity. Enjoyed walking the trails around the property and the campfires were the highlight of our stay at the tiny house!

This is a quintessential Detroit loft, capturing just what the city is all about- taking something old and making it new, breathing new life into it. This gorgeous loft is located in a 1920’s automotive factory, and has retained some of those original characters like the exposed brick, hardwood floors, wood pillars and other little details reminding all that it was a bustling factory. Located in an industrial / up and coming area. Easily access everything Detroit has to offer in 3-10 min.
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. It’s great for couples, small groups or solo travelers. • WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C unit • Private entrance • Parking right outside the door Sleeping arrangements: • Queen pillow top mattress • Twin bed (upstairs) • Sofa

  • Georgia’s place was great for an overnight stay for me and my two sisters. 10 minute drive to downtown, close to nice Midtown restaurants. Pros: cute space, great check in, free and available parking, nice touches in the space like suggestions on where to go in the area, and we found a nice little sewing kit that we actually ended up needing! Cons: the small bed upstairs was very firm and uncomfortable, not easy to move around up there but the pictures of the loft prepared us for that so no surprise there. Thin walls, can hear everything the neighbours are doing or listening to. Luckily we didn’t spend much time in the loft so not really a problem for us!

My cozy little Glamping Nook is right on Lake Erie and is a huge step up from camping but still a rustic and simple experience. Keep cozy by the wood stove, gather a book from the ceiling high bookshelves, or bust out one of the board games you loved to play as a kid. I’ve got a plethora of nostalgic video games & movies for indoor days. Outside you can take in the sunset or sit & bond around a campfire. You're in for an experience here.
Don't let other listings in our area fool you, I am RIGHT on Lake Erie which means you have full views from your space and direct water access down a break wall and into the water. There's nothing like sitting in front of a campfire with the lake as your backdrop. And with no city lights to pollute the night skies we get the best view of the stars. Please be aware that I am really remote, especially if you’re a city dweller there’s no “shopping” or “bar hopping” or that type of thing. It’s a place you come to unplug. If you've ever dreamt of living in a little log cabin somewhere or being off grid, here's the perfect opportunity to see what this lifestyle is all about! The Nook has so many offerings I hardly know where to start. I’ve been told that it’s cozy, quaint, eccentric, inspiring, comforting & romantic (to name a few). You’re sure to be touched by the Nook. Unlike other Air BnB listings I am sharing *MY* personal space with you which means you get an *experience* not just a place to lay your head. The Nook is beyond relaxing. You'll cozy in & finally find the time you've been needing to read, write, play music or just take in the beauty of your surroundings. The Nook consists of an open space with a double bed piled with pillows so you can sit up & play games or watch a movie. Please note that there is no box spring so the bed is low and cozy (in case you have mobility issues). There's cozy double seating by the fire. Behind the living space is a small kitchen area with all the basic supplies (pots, a pan, kettle, Keurig coffee maker, cutlery, dishes etc), a microwave, small bar fridge, toaster oven, pizza oven & seating area for two. There is no running water in the Nook but I’ve taken care of your water needs by having a hand pump water station that you can use for cooking, washing up, or to make tea or coffee. You might want to bring your own drinking water. I have an outdoor camp style kitchen around the back of the Nook with a propane BBQ & Coleman stove. There is an outhouse with hand sanitizer a few steps outside of the bunkie. During the winter months the wood stove is enough to heat the space nice and toasty, just keep in mind that you will have to venture outside for the outhouse and to restock your wood. In the summer months the breeze off the lake keeps things comfortable. There is also a dehumidifier. Spring & fall are they're absolutely perfect with the best of both worlds, warm enough to venture outside, and cool enough to still need the wood stove for a romantic night in the snug warm heat. I presume you’re coming to unplug, get quiet & connect to nature but if you’re looking for WiFi, hot showers, & shopping, the Nook may not be the right fit for you. We’re out here all peaceful & remote enjoying the stars, the birds, and the fresh air with simple way of being. There is a Conservation area about a 5 minute drive down the street with showers. If you non challantly go in, you can use their facilities, otherwise bring chemical free soap and bathe in the lake. They are only open from the May long weekend until thanksgiving. Otherwise, showering is not an option. THINGS TO BRING -Water shoes & a towel for swimming -Drinking water -Salt pepper and cooking oil for cooking (due to the temperature changes I don’t provide these). -Tupperware or metal containers for your dried goods for night time as there is a mouse that sneaks in from time to time. I can't catch him, but have tried. -rubber boots if it’s wet season or rainy -warm clothes and layers for fall and winter seasons, it can get very cold -slippers -a canoe or kayak if you want to go Please note that there is no outdoor lock on the Nook, this is for insurance reasons with the wood stove. But not to worry you’re in a really safe and quiet community. There is a lock you can lock behind you when inside. ***Follow the Nook on Instagram glampingnook***
I am located in a quiet lakeside neighborhood full of nature lovers & laid back lifestyle. I hope you've come for the peace & quiet & along with that means you're no where near anything! Port Dover is a popular spot to visit during your stay. Large touristy white sand beach with lots of restaurant options. It's about a 20 minute drive away. Long Point is the best beach in the area and offers lots of conservation land. There's great bird watching, eco adventure activities such as zip lining & paddle boarding and even a special initiative to save the turtles & snakes. It's about a 50 minute drive, and well worth it. Selkirk Conservation is about 15 minutes away and have some simple trails and are waterfront. The town of Selkirk is the closest convenience store (where they also have a built in LCBO). Hoovers Marina is a short 7 minute drive away and offers great food, especially breakfast. They are on the water and have a nice patio. It is a seasonal spot. Call before going to ensure they're open. This restaurant is seasonal (late Spring to early Fall). The closest grocery store is in Hagersville up on Highway 6 before Sandusk, it is a No Frills and is open 10am - 9pm generally. It is half an hour away from us so we recommend picking stuff up on your way in. Simcoe has lots of "shopping" and all around Norfolk is a great place to go and check out farms, markets, and Fall fairs. There is some great dining around us. I suggest the Twisted Lemon in Cayuga, the Combine in Simcoe, Lago in Port Dover, David's in Port Dover, Hoovers Marina in Nanticoke, or the Barrel in Simcoe. Lots of Earth to Table and great atmosphere. Alternatively you can pick up Chinese food or Godfathers pizza in Hagersville on your way in or it is 30 minutes away. There is no Uber or food delivery. If that’s the kind of trip you’re looking for, you’re not looking in the right location. We are country remote. Godfathers in Hagersville will deliver but they charge $8 delivery and can take up to an hour and a half.
  • This is our second year at The glamping nook, and it was just as magical. My girl and I were here to celebrate our third anniversary, and also for me to propose! Laura's space was the perfect romantic setting. So infront of the wood stove I asked and she said YES! Laura was incredibly accommodating and wanting to help make it perfect. She let us check out late, have secret photographers, and made sure the stereo was going. Thanks laura!!

    Ashley2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is cozy and cute with a beautiful view of the Lake and fantastic ambiance.

    Anne2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time here, and it was every bit as magical as the first time. I feel really energized, the perfect getaway. 10/10 will be back.

    Breanna2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is such a hidden gem! So much nostalgia everywhere you looked. Great place for unwinding even in the winter. It was crazy windy out at night so using the outdoor kitchen (bbq and Coleman stove didn't work out well for us) so my tip is bring foods that can be reheated in a microwave or fit in the toaster oven, if you're visiting in the winter. Neighbour is cool guy too if you get the chance to chat with him. We will definitely book here again!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing get away, full of the best nostalgia! A short drive from Toronto that makes you feel like you are in a whole other world.

    Raelene2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our night away was the perfect way to let go of a little bit of stress. Laura’s descriptions are very accurate and you get exactly what you signed up for. A cozy space with more than enough music, games, books, and DVDs. Thanks for sharing your space Laura!

    Grace2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Laura is a great host. Quick and kind communication. Understanding as we had to change our trip date. The cabin was stocked with fire wood and all the amenities that are promised in the listing. Our only issue was that the door was a bit hard to lock so we had to push a luggage against it to ensure it stayed shut since we stayed on a windy night.

  • It was a great stay. The cabin is very cozy with amazing lake views. Cindy went out of her way to ensure that we were all settled and comfortable. Looking forward to coming back again in summer to explore the area.

  • The Boathouse was an amazing little getaway from the city. Not much around was open which we expected in the middle of winter. We had such a lovely chat with our hosts who had lots of local activity recommendations which we really enjoyed.

  • A beautiful home over a lake that is bar none one of the greatest views to wake up too.

  • Cindy was the best host! She responded very quickly to all and any of our needs. She also let us borrow snowshoes and games. The boathouse is the most beautiful little cabin we've ever stayed in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone!

  • Cindy was a fantastic host and we loved our stay! The boathouse was cosy, warm and in a great location. The bed was really comfortable and the place was super clean. Cindy gave us passes for Algonquin park and snowshoes. We loved exploring the area and would love to come back sometime. Highly recommend the boathouse and Cindy as a host!

Our house is the perfect retreat for couples, individuals, or groups of friends looking to escape and relax. Book your stay today!
Follow us on Instagram: @offgridinn Sleeping: -1 queen bed -1 bench with padding *We would say the cabin can sleep 2 adults very comfortably in the queen bed and 1 adult comfortably on the benches. We don't provide additional sleeping bags, so please bring your own + any form of padding you might want to use on the benches. *The loft area pictured has been closed off and is no longer a sleeping place. Kitchen: -Electric Stove with 2 burners -Sink -Mini-fridge -Pot, frying pan, spatula, tongs, and cooking spoon -Cups, bowls, plates, and silverware for eating *We want to encourage guests to cook meals in our tiny cabin because we think it is a fun, unique experience. We also want it to be known that this is not your traditional home kitchen. It's a kitchen in a tiny house on a trailer, and there will be some limitations. The burners work great, they just take a little longer to heat up than a gas stove. If you plan to use any other cooking utensils than a spatula, tongs, or spoon, we ask that you please bring your own. We have salt and pepper, but please bring your own seasoning/spices if you think you will need them. Our goal is to provide the basic essentials for you to cook a meal and eat it! Bathroom: -Electric Toilet: flush limit of 7 flushes for stays 2 days or fewer* -Nebia Shower** *We provide a bathroom for guests to use that doesn't require them leaving the trailer. It works a little different than your traditional home bathroom. The electric toilet uses a bag system that wraps up your waste and then opens up a new, clean bag after you flush. We recommend only flushing if you went #2, or else it may not bag the waste up properly and will result in wasted flushes. We have a flush limit of 7 flushes per stay for any stays 2 days or fewer. Each refill cartridge only has 15 flushes, so if you think you will need more than 7 flushes for your stay, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. **Our shower is a high efficiency shower made by Nebia. It uses a mist to limit the amount of water consumption used during showers. So if you see a mist coming out, nothing is broken. Parking: -1 parking spot veering off to the right, about 50 feet from the house. **Our driveway is fairly narrow in some spots, so please do not attempt to back out when you're leaving. There should be enough space to turn around in the driveway and drive straight out. Land: -Fire pit *The folding chairs we provide for use at the fire pit are stored under the house. We provide firewood on our property, so please feel free to take from the stack next to the firepit or near the parking spot. **PLEASE MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW SAFETY GUIDELINES WHEN YOU HAVE A BONFIRE. Do not leave the fire unattended, and make sure to put the fire out before you go to bed. If you do not have experience starting bonfires, please make sure you inform yourself before starting a fire. We want to make sure you are safe, but we also want to protect the forest, our house, and our neighbor's houses. Water: Running water is provided by the well near the house. Our water heater will provide warm water, but please be aware that this is still a tiny house, so it may not be as consistent as your heater at home. *During extreme cold temperatures (below zero), we may have to shut off the water for your stay. This is something that we will make sure you are aware of before your stay, and we will provide backup water sources should this happen. Internet: -WiFi: Verizon Hotspot *There can be spotty cell reception on our property if you have a carrier other than Verizon, so we provide a hotspot to give every guest the ability to stay connected. The hotspot is provided for this reason, it is not meant for streaming videos. We have an unlimited data plan, but if previous guests have streamed movies and reached the bandwidth limit, the high speed internet access may be limited. If you plan on streaming any videos, please make sure to download them before your stay. Pets: We allow you to bring along 1 pet to stay at our house, but there is a $30/night fee. Please mention this in your initial message to us and we will send a rate adjustment request. It is still expected that you clean up after your pet and care for the property in our house. Please reach out to us if you have any questions!
Our cabin has a few neighboring houses. The closest house is about 400 feet down the street, but there is very limited visibility of their house from our cabin, especially once you get back in the woods. Our neighbors have explicitly asked that you DO NOT contact them for any reason. We ask that you keep the noise levels down at night and be respectful. Please call us if you have any issues and we will be happy to assist you.
  • A very great place to stay!! If you want a place to rest and relax and just enjoy the forest this is the perfect place to be!! I would definitely come back. This is gonna be my go to place if i need some peace of mind and to escape from city life!!

  • We had such a great time💕 It was a perfect way to enjoy some time away from the outside world with an amazingly cozy view. We appreciate everything the off grid tiny house had to offer✨ Thank you🙏

  • This was a unique and fun place to stay. I highly recommend it!

    Timothy2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Go. Do it. Stay here. Wow. This place was amazing. The details these guys put into this was really comforting. The bed, heated, the blankets, super soft, the location, was really nice. Off grid, and 30 min away from Eau Claire. Super easy and we didn’t have to talk to anyone upon entering. Which is exactly what we wanted. Tips: they provide all necessities. Pots, pans, salt, pepper, a mini fridge, cooking and eating utensils and plates/bowls, firewood and a fire pit. It’s so nice. It was such a nice get away from a really busy metropolis city. Just be prepared with your own food obviously, but get a cooler because the fridge is small. Naturally because it’s a tiny house.

    Jessica2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

Secluded off grid cabin. Not remote but a very quiet and peaceful location beside the stream on our small hobby farm.Cabin is surrounded by woods and the stream. Built in a 2016 by local Amish craftsmen, the cabin was designed and decorated to reflect an earlier era. Suitable for one or two people, there is ample room to relax. No washroom, but a new, clean outhouse. We have a homemade outdoor kitchen with BBQ, propane griddle and 2 propane burners. We will do our best to warm up the cabin 4 U
The cabin is about 300 Sq ft plus an 80 Sq ft screened in porch. The cabin is equipped with a lovely wood cookstove, kerosene lamp and lots of antique and vintage articles. Included is paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, cookware, dishes and cutlery, hand towels, wash clothes, a jug of water, coffee press, kettle,as well as some books and boardgames. We always have farm fresh free range eggs, artisanal soaps and jam for sale, all from our farm Your well behaved dog is welcome too! The firewood is always free!
The area surrounding the cabin are forest and farm fields. Rural Stirling Rawdon is primarily a farming area. 20 minutes from Belleville and 30 minutes from Prince Edward County with it's beaches, wineries and craft breweries. There is a gravel it nearby, on weekdays you may hear noise associated with that, as well as truck traffic.
  • John's cabin was a very nice experience. The wood stove was our favourite thing about this trip. The cabin was nice and clean with cool vintage decorations on the walls. We had our privacy by the stream in a little forest.

  • Had a very cozy stay! John was very communicative and accommodating. Thank you!

  • The Cabin by the Stream is such a lovely, peaceful location. The cabin itself is pretty and well-stocked with many things that you need during your stay. It feels like a private setting, but is still conveniently located. John is very helpful, not to mention the farm fresh eggs are delicious.

    Samantha2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the perfect weekend getaway in the idyllic cabin by the stream. Such a rejuvenating place to connect with nature :) thanks John, we’ll be back!

The Florence room is one of three rooms in the grotto of Fort Washington, a Richardsonian Romanesque Victorian era home. Easy unmetered street parking is readily available for those coming by car. The room has a king size bed and full size sofa sleeper for a maximum guest count of 4. Full size kitchen, multiple living/outdoor areas, and laundry machines are available for use as well with this room. My other rooms are listed here: https://www.airbnb.com/users/22608682/listings
The space is in an old victorian era (c.1895) limestone/brick mansion located on Chicago's west side in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. It overlooks Washington Blvd. and is about a block from the Kedzie Green Line Train. Please note if you book, this is an old house, with over 125 years of living. This means lumps, bumps, scratches, and things in general that are less then perfect. Most people enjoy this character of a house, and it's why they book. I allow LUGGAGE DROP OFF! You can store your luggage in the closet before check-in and after check-out times, you can drop it off and pick it up as early and as late as you would like. Public transit options (train, bus, bike share) available about a block away.
The area itself is undergoing redevelopment. This doesn't mean boutique coffee instead of national chain coffee, it means Chicago and it’s outlying neighborhoods are mixed bags, on my block you’ll have $500,000 homes next to a boarded up one. If you are looking for a great place close to everything but with tons of room typically unknown for a city house, this is it. The house is very close to the Garfield Park Conservatory for reference. You'll need to order delivery or take a train for restaurants, but it's all less then 20 minutes away.
  • Great place to stay, beautiful house and lots of good grub nearby.

    Octavious2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful space and amazing value! If you want to stay in Chicago but want opportunity to get away from the city for a little, this is a great choice. The neighborhood on the surface seems a touch sketchy but we never felt compromised or unsafe. It’s within a quarter mile of the CTA line allowing for easy car-free city access as well. Highly recommend!

Unplug. Unwind. Connect with nature. Come enjoy our 700 sq.ft. cabin on 6 wooded acres. Fish the trout stream, hike, bike, swim! See hummingbirds hover at the feeders, watch for deer or bald eagles. The outdoor recreational opportunities are endless. Listen to the wind whisper while you sway in the hammock. Escape to the peaceful pines and let the whippoorwills sing you to sleep at day's end.
The cabin has one bedroom on the main level and a loft above. Each room has a queen size bed. Indoor plumbing. Full size stove, refrigerator and a small microwave in a small kitchen. In cold weather, warm yourself by the wood burning stove or simply adjust the thermostat if you prefer.
Our cabin is in a remote area, if you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle for a slower, quieter pace, this is the place. Our neighbors are few and far between. Outdoor recreation is top on the list of things to do. We're surrounded by several lakes and the Wisconsin River, perfect for fishing or pleasure boating. State wildlife areas are abundant with hiking trails, wildlife viewing areas and recreational areas. If rock climbing is your thing, there's a great rock face just minutes from the cabin which is great for all ability levels. Necedah National Wildlife Refuge is a short drive but worth the time. Lots of public hunting grounds in the area. Hunters are welcome! Adams County has 23 public access lakes and we are convenient to several of them. The Petenwell Flowage has multiple ramps with the nearest 12 miles away. Big Roche-A-Cri Lake's launch is 10 miles away. For more information for each lake within the county to include acreage, depth, fish stock, location, etc., visit the website listed below. Whether an avid fisherman or looking for a peaceful day on the water, this will provide a good resource for vacation planning. Lake-link is a good website. Search Wisconsin, we are located in Adams County. The WI Dept. of Natural Resources website also has excellent information. Search for lakes and Adams County. (I'd list the website but Airbnb will hide it). Check the Guidebook for links to area attractions like; golfing, ATVing, motorcycling, kayaking, trapshooting, even antiquing!

  • Clean, cozy, peaceful cabin in the woods. Had a great stay and will hopefully return soon. Definitely recommend.

    Philip2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our family's second stay at Emily's cabin, and we hope to come back again in the future. It's so cozy and surrounded by nature, but not too rustic, with all the conveniences you need. We appreciated that they left info about a local winter festival on the fridge, so that we could go check it out. Thanks!

    Nicholas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent 3 nights at the cabin. We loved getting to use the wood burning stove (wood was provided). Despite our visit being in the winter we still enjoyed our outdoor walks on the property. The listing is accurate for what to expect. Great place to have a mini getaway.

Small hand hewn log cabin on Chocolay River. Good fishing, approximately 5 miles from snowmobile and ORV trails. Full kitchen. I BR (Q), 1 bath. Will supply Q air mattress upon request if needed. Outdoor electric sauna and fire pit. Washer/dryer. Basic amenities.
People love that we’re secluded but still in close proximity to hiking, skiing, ORV trails and you can fish right out the front door. All that and only 10 minutes from Marquette for dining and shopping.
  • This cozy cabin was just what we needed for our trip from down-state to the U.P. The only downside was a lack of any cell service while in the cabin (and lack of wifi). We had to drive up the road to make calls or get service. However, the spacious cabin with its sauna, full kitchen, and wood burning stove made for a lovely atmosphere to read and relax without technology. We enjoyed our winter retreat and hope to be able to stay here again in the summer. Nearby attractions included Marquette with lots of restaurants, Marquette Mountain, Presque Isle Park, and a little under two hours away was the best experience EVER at Otter River Sled Dog Training Center & Wilderness Adventures.

  • Theresa’s cabin was a dream! The sauna was a great addition and really helped us to relax after skiing at Marquette Mountain. Her thoughtfully decorated, cozy cabin had great amenities, including cable and a cell booster (for those that just can’t do without service). Overall, it was a great place to be able to relax, unwind, and get disconnected from tech to enjoy the nature of the UP. Thanks to Theresa for being such a great host!

    Crystal2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

My place is close to the Blue Line, the highway, Downtown, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Humbolt Park, Lincoln Park, and Bucktown. You’ll love my place because of the central location, free parking, delicious local restaurants, and easy commute to anywhere in the city. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
Hello Travelers! Welcome to our brand new loft in the city. This is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom space with an attic loft. There is a queen bed in the bedroom (new mattress bought in February 2020), three twin beds in the loft, and a futon in the common area that can sleep one. Note: the foosball table has been replaced by a dining table. This is a second floor unit located on Western Ave., so there is noise from the street, especially with the windows open. But if you're looking for a city apartment that's minutes from it all, this is the one! There is free street parking on Western Ave. The Blue Line Western stop is just a few blocks south. This is the train that runs from O'hare Airport all the way downtown. If you're driving, Kennedy Expressway 94 is just 2 blocks north, off the Fullerton exit. There is a secure lock box with 2 keys for easy check in. We have exterior security cameras for additional security. This also means we can see how many people come in and out of the apartment so please be honest when making your booking as any unapproved guests will be charged the additional guest fee. Any unapproved parties or gatherings will be charged the full security deposit. My husband and I designed and built this unit. We hope you enjoy this simple, cozy, no fuss place that's so close to it all!
The apartment is located right between Logan Square and Bucktown. Avondale, Wicker Park, Humbolt Park, and Lincoln Park are just a few blocks away! There is a local grocery store called Fresh Market a couple blocks down Western Ave. There you can get fresh produce, local liquors, and they have a really good cafeteria with affordable plates.
  • This place is perfect! It’s so cute inside. The bathroom is truly noteworthy. There is an awesome rain shower that I didn’t notice at first and was so happy to have. The bed is comfy and the upstairs looked nice and cozy too. I would 💯 recommend. I didn’t meet Margaret, but I could tell by their apartment that they’re super cool folks

Hello AirBnBer. You’ll love my place. It’s close to transit (5 min from subway), Bloor St, Korea Town, parks, Dufferin Mall, The Comedy Club, liquor store, Hogtown Vegan & more. Enjoy the light from the deck, the comfy bed, the cozy coolness my seasonally decorated interior, the decorated Christmas tree and, in the warm weather, the back deck. Great for couples & solo adventurers. The apartment is on the second floor of a relatively quiet 3 floor house in Bloocourt Village.
Close to subway (5 minute walk) In the heart of Little Portugal, close to Little Italy and Korea Town. In the summer months my gorgeous back deck comes to leafy life.
Quiet area transitioning to a trendy hipster hive.
  • Rolyn's place is great and in a nice part of town. He's very responsive and great. Two things I would point out for others: 1) there is no WiFi in the apartment. That is on purpose, but just make sure you are aware of that. 2) At night you'll have to park in either a parking garage nearby or on another street a block or two away. Not an issue, and we found parking really easily, but be aware of that. All in all his place was great and I would recommend.

  • I have stayed at Rolyn's place a number of times. His place is very clean, with all the furnishings needed for a stay in Toronto. Good location, close to public transit. He is a very responsive and accommodating host.

  • Great location, easy parking and even easier check in! Definitely made our trip to the city even better than we anticipated.

    Kate2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect location! Within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and very easy to get to public transportation.

    Tyler2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here! The room was super clean and well appointed. The bed was super comfortable and the sheets smelled clean and fresh. The private bathroom attached to the room was amazing and had a skylight that provided natural light. The tub is HUGE! The room is huge too and it’s just like it looks in the pictures. Even though it is a room in a house with about 4 other Airbnb rooms, it was still relatively quiet, and the common areas remained clean despite multiple people using it. I would definitely stay there again if I’m in Chicago!

    Ashley2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beware parking is street parking and can be difficult. But the place is perfect. 5 stars.

    Trevor2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy check in, super clean space, super comfortable bed and amazing private bathroom.

Hey! Thanks for all your support, its made us an eco-village. (Please read all information provided in listing) You are renting a country house on a working community farm. In the WI hills, 25 minutes from Madison, far enough away and still close enough. Come as you are. We have space for camping, hosting weddings and events, so if you're interested in something different lettuce know over at common gardens via the web. Please avoid bringing bottle water and styrofoam whenever possible.
You would be renting the whole farmhouse, and have it to yourself, there are other folks working and animals on the property. Its a two bedroom (one has one full and a bunk bed, the other a king), 1.5 baths, kitchen, laundry, wifi and phone, House grounds include; An oven, fire pit, grill, and yard. When you arrive the house will be open and the keys on the table, after checking out please throw your sheets in the hamper.
The pastoral scenery of the Driftless and access to near by parks. If you are looking for a cool day trip, I like spring green, but most of the time its just nice to relax away from the city. Here are some usual spots people visit; Indian Lake state park and the Ice trail are within a short drive (2 min). Wollersheim Winery and boat rentals on the Wisconsin river in Sauk City, Devil's lake, lake Wisconsin, Mazomanie Beach (An iconic nude beach). We sit on the gateway to Wisconsin's 'Driftless' region, amazingly beautiful and unexpected, within easy driving distance (30 min) is Spring Green and Mt. Horeb; House on the Rock, Taliesin, Cave of the Mounds and Tyrol Basin. About 45 minutes to Wisconsin Dells, Devil's lake, and Baraboo, great looking hills that way, great camping and nature over there. 25 minutes to downtown Madison by car, or 90+ minutes by bike along HWY 12 bike path, enjoy the vibrancy of Wisconsin's capitol, like the Saturday farmer's market on the capitol square (allegedly biggest in the country) is a must see, arrive early because it gets crowded. Check the Guide book for my favorite restaurants, bars, sights and services in the area.
  • There's lots to do here - from wandering around the farm to playing games by the fire. Would definitely recommend if you're trying to get away from your busy life!

    Megan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a long weekend at the Napping Farm. It was conveniently located and close to Madison and other smaller towns. The farmhouse was cozy and had everything you needed. It was great to have an escape from the city and get some fresh air. Plus, it was great we could bring our dog too :)

    Stephanie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing love and peace w.in this home. Micheal is wonderful. The house.is amazing. We will be back. Enjoy a.weekend of blissfully tranquil peace. • We love staying at The Napping Farm! The place is so charming and full of wonderful surprises, and Michael is a great host. It’s so fun to walk around the beautiful property and sit by the fireplace reading. A perfect escape from the city with a ton of personality.

    Annabel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Located close to everything the Napping Farm is a real calm getaway. Views of the trees from every window. A sort of time capsule lovingly kept in the family and now shared. The kitchen table is a great gathering space to prep meals, play games, and sit and chat. We discovered great thrifting and resale shops in Sauk! Lunch at the Whipperwill a must. Thank you to our host. We will be back!

A private, light-filled cabin in the Ontario woodlands; secluded and romantic with full amenities, surrounded by nature, trails, and wilderness.
This open-concept cabin in Central Ontario is your cozy, comfortable on-grid retreat, surrounded by countryside and very private. Light , airy, and winterized it is available year-round. You'll only be a few minutes from shops and necessities but seemingly miles from civilization. There are 100 acres in which to roam, with trails, wildlife, fields and northern Ontario forest, nestled outside the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. ********Please read the description thoroughly before requesting a booking.******* Covid 19 Update to potential guests: We are currently not accepting bookings for May as of yet; you may ask for a tentative booking which is easily cancelled and refunded via Airbnb's COVID19 policy, by either party. We will also continue to revisit this status on monthly basis. The safety of our guests and community is very important to us and, by following local and provincial health unit guidelines and recommendations for disinfecting, we are adding extra measures to our already stringent cleaning regimen. Despite being listed in Airbnb’s Eco-Friendly category we feel it is now necessary to use stronger and more abrasive cleaners and disinfectants for all our laundering and cleaning before each booking. These will be applied to all bed and bath linens and towels, surfaces, handles, taps, switches, remotes, appliances, etc. Also as a result of coronavirus, we have removed most of the books and board games so we recommend bringing your own. We also ask that when out and about in our community, you exercise the same cautionary measures as you would in your own and follow interaction guidelines. We look forward to hosting you. The cabin is equipped with one loft bedroom upstairs that has a queen bed and and a single daybed. The main floor has an open-concept kitchen/living area and full bathroom. There is a high-efficiency airtight wood-burning stove in the kitchen. Firewood is provided, however we typically shut it down for the warm season. Back-up heat includes a portable infra-red heater as well as baseboard heaters for those extra-cold days. It has hydro, running water, and a screened-in deck with outdoor wrap-around porch. We provide: bed linens and blankets/duvets, towels, kitchen utensils, LED TV, mini-stereo, bluetooth tivoli with radio, and DVD player. The Tv accepts USB keys/ports if you want to bring your own movies and shows. There is no basic cable services. The kitchen does not have a full-size oven but there is a mini high-end Breville convection oven which can roast a small chicken, and a 2-burner cook-top. There is a propane BBQ as well. If you truly want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. There is a cell phone booster, so depending on your provider, you could receive great service. We are with Telus/Bell and Fido/Rogers and can get full bars on the 3G network and occasionally the 4G networks. There is no wifi service; we have had guests in the past who have used their cellphones as hotspots. There is also wifi available at the Powassan library for a very low cost. There is a landline telephone on which you can receive long-distance calls but can only dial-out locally. There is an outdoor fire bowl to enjoy at night as well. You bring: Your own food HDMI and AV cords for movies and music appropriate clothing good non-slip slippers or indoor shoes (the floor can be chilly in winter) and although our water is 100% potable and tasteless, it is very iron heavy and some may have an aversion to it. The property is not on a lake but is very close to several lakes with public beaches, boat launches, and ice-fishing. There are also several extensive roads, trails and lakes throughout the crown lands next to our township. Airbnb has, for some reason, the cabin listed as ‘shared entrance’ but we assure you there is no shared entrance anywhere on the property; you have a private driveway right up to your private cabin. **A NOTE FOR WINTER OR EARLY SPRING STAY: A 4WD or good AWD vehicle is almost certainly a must as the driveway is quite long, and can take a day or two to get plowed. In early spring it can get slushy/muddy. Some experience using a wood-burning stove is also a must as it is the main source of heat. As your host we will likely be there to check you in, after which we will leave you to your privacy. There is a network of trails on the property (intermediate) for hiking and snowshoeing. We often have spare snowshoes on hand if other guests are not using them. Most outdoor stores like MEC will rent equipment and gear. There is a cross-country ski club nearby (no membership req'd), as well as several OFSC trails. At the nearby lake you can rent a canoe for about $5 per hour. Canoes and kayaks may also be rented at Algonquin North Outfitters and delivered for you at the Kiosk entry point of the Park. The area is ideal for hiking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, birdwatching, camping, exploring, photography, mountain-biking, x-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATVing, boating, snowshoeing, or just relaxing. We provide a topo map of the area if you are the adventurous sort, showing various wilderness accesses and roads less travelled, and we can point you in the right direction. There are nearby dog-sledding expeditions and horse-riding facilities as well. The area is ideal for moto-touring loops, either on a motorcycle or a snowmobile. Ask us for info! Dogs are sometimes welcome, but please check with us first. Due to allergen considerations of other guests we ask that it be a 100% NON-SHEDDING, hypo-allergenic dog. And cats are not allowed. The cabin is located on a private road just outside of Powassan, Ontario in the Township of Chisholm, which abuts the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. There are thousands of acres of crown land nearby, yet within 10 minutes you can have access to town which has a Beer Store, LCBO, hardware, groceries, restaurants, laundromat, farmer's market, gas station, mechanics, library, tennis courts, public pool, legion hall, cop-shop, and other conveniences. The grocery store in town offers a very decent selection of foods as well as organic produce. North Bay is only 30kms away should you need something from any big-box store, a movie night, or sushi. Please see our Guidebook for local restaurants and activities . We reserve the option to refuse bookings to those without verifications or reviews, and if you are new to AirBnB and do not have any yet we will ask you to tell us a little something about yourself. And please note, guests must 25 years of age or older. By finalizing your booking you will also be agreeing to a waiver of liability, and all the terms of the rental agreement. We will also ask that over Xmas, New Years, and March break that guests book a minimum 5 nights..
Chisholm Township is a beautiful rural area perched just above the northwest corner of Algonquin Park.
  • Great, cozy cabin. Perfect for getting away by yourself or with another. Very quiet and the property offers a lot to explore and to sit and contemplate life. Lots of moose around.

    Hazel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tracey and Brandon have such a special place in the north! We love hiking the surrounding forests, curling up by the fire and just enjoying some peace and quiet. Highly recommend booking this rustic cabin!!!

    Kate2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A cute cozy space to unwind. Lots of interesting books. Kitchen staples were great. Even had a fresh loaf of bread, eggs and milk for me. I understand that most that most people probably don't come alone, and look to get out and explore. For me it was alone time and down time and wish there was a bit of a bigger TV to watch movies on. It is clearly communicated in the description of the cabin about the iron in the water issue. But the degree of it was a little surprising. Alternate water was provided in their defense. Maybe a filtration system would be a good idea. Maybe it's just the chef in me that was a little put off by it. All in all a great secluded space that I definitely enjoyed and would book again with.

    Donna2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect little cabin to hide out in for a long weekend. Clean, cozy, warm and stylish. The day bed and trail behind the cabin were probably my two favorite things!

    Phoebe2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Prepare yourself for a stay in a cute little cabin in a cute little town. The scenery is wonderful, there's hiking trails, forests, lakes, etc all around you. Going into town is nice for a quick bite, and locals are very friendly. Tracey and Brandon have carefully decorated and ensured no detail gets missed, which leaves you feeling cozy and right at home. I cannot wait to book with them again! Ps, if you stay on Friday/Saturday, be sure to check out zhers bakery! Amish baking at its finest!!!

Located in the center of the historic Mott Park Neighborhood is the iconic home designed by Norbert Dougherty, who was hired by General Motors to develop the neighborhood, for his family to live in. The original 1926 loft above the garage is available for you!
This is a historic home in the center of an iconic neighborhood, bordered by a park with tennis courts on one side and the Mott Park Recreation Area on the other. The former golf course is now a disc golf course but is also available for walking, running, or relaxing by the river.
Our neighborhood has a great history (there is a history book about it in the loft), and hopefully a great future too. I think you will enjoy the quiet, the wildlife, and the friendly neighbors. We love Mott Park and enjoy living here, but to be clear this is an urban neighborhood in the city of Flint. There are some abandoned houses and sometimes petty crime. Our guests have never had any issues, and you should be fine too by taking basic precautions like not leaving valuables in your car and keeping the door locked.
  • Chad was very quick to communicate and was able to accommodate us on a rather short notice! The apartment had various thoughtful touches throughout. A cozy space we enjoyed staying at for the night we were in the city.

    Matilda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great location, quiet yet accessible - a nice, clean, warm space. Private. Such a great value as well. And Chad was so great about reaching out to make check-in a breeze. We'll definitely try to stay here again when we return to the Flint area!

  • Not large but big enough.

    Marty2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem in the midst of Flint. I came here with my dog for a one night getaway and it was absolutely perfect. The space is small but beautiful and perfect for one person. I had lots of privacy and everything I needed. There was a large park right across the street that was perfect for my dog. Chad was kind and immediately responsive. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Jonah2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Mott Park Carriage House, where it seems every thought has been given towards hospitality and meeting the guest's needs. The place is lovely in its simplicity - clean, comfortable, warm, even the water is just the right temp and pressure. One feels totally at home and cared for in this space, making it perfect for a weekend getaway or even a solo spiritual retreat. It's in a historic neighborhood on a beautiful street. Having grown up near there, I had an opportunity to see this place years ago, before Chad and his family purchased the home, and the love and hard work he has poured into it has given the Carriage House a truly astonishing transformation. It is a true gift to the Airbnb community.

    Sherrema2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

  • I was struck with good vibes the minute we walked in the door. It was sad to say goodbye. Loved playing fetch with the good dog.

  • This was a great place to come stay by myself for a few days. Got to unwind, enjoy the sauna, personal studio space, and the dunes.

Tiny, cozy, rustic treehouse at the end of a rugged one-kilometre footpath: sleeping platform and woodstove inside; porch and hammock outside. Campfire pit with tripod grill on the riverbank. Appeals to leave-no-trace hikers/canoeists who look for time off the grid, who understand how to function sustainably and respectfully there, and enjoy being self-sufficient. Pricing: Weekend and holiday rates are higher than weekday.
Very quiet, very basic and private treehouse for 1 or 2 guests with suspension bridge and porch on the banks of the Sydenham River in Southwestern Ontario. Stargazing, birdwatching, a secluded getaway. More like camping than anything - no plumbing or electricity or wifi. We're talking backcountry camping, not car camping. You will need to walk (and carry in whatever you are bringing) approx 1 km from the road to the treehouse on a pretty but rough trail. Sturdy footwear is a must! The two-person sleeping platform (4 ft x 6 ft - you have to like each other a lot!) is cushioned with a mattress of 15 cm (6") gel memory foam, and made up with sheets, pillows, and extra blankets. There is a tiny woodstove (see photo) for winter. Wood is provided. We can lend you a camp stove (let us know when you book) to make your morning coffee and/or meals on the porch, or you can build a fire on the riverbank. Wood is provided for that, too, as well as a basic over-the-fire metal grill. There are camping bowls, plates, mugs, spoons, and a tea kettle in the treehouse for your use, and a couple of fire-blackened pans outside. Breakfast, if you choose and if we are home, is at the stone farmhouse on the property (1 km from the treehouse). It is usually homemade waffles. If we are not home, we will leave something basic, like instant oatmeal, for you in the treehouse. A shower (indoor or outdoor - outdoor is May to Oct) is available to you at the farmhouse, too. Towels are provided in the farmhouse bathroom. (See "guest access" below.) Your private bathroom, however, is a dry-composting outhouse (see photos) 200 metres from the treehouse. Dinner is cook-your-own at the treehouse, or can be had at the popular restaurant in the nearby (a walkable 2 km away) village any day but Monday or Tuesday. Plan to explore the riverbank on foot, or bring your bicycle for the country roads. Bring a canoe or kayak if you have one. Bring your fishing rod if you have an Ontario Fishing Licence. One note: In prolonged rainy weather the river can rise to the point where getting to and from the treehouse is difficult or even unsafe. We will let you know as soon as possible so that you can make the decision to cancel, reschedule, or stay based on your canoeing skills and tolerance for extremes. Rest assured we won't let you stay if it looks at all unsafe. You will get a refund, a reschedule, or a credit for a future stay. To see a winter video of the place by guests, search for "adventureconwards awesome treehouse for only".
Most of our guests just want some downtime away from the grid to nature-watch, canoe, read, stare primally into the campfire, that sort of thing. But for more: 3D's is a very popular restaurant in the village. It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Florence Mill Inc. is the well-stocked hardware store. Nearest canoe/kayak rental place is The Crappie Store in Dresden. Nearest gasoline stations are in Moraviantown, Thamesville and Dresden. Nearest grocery stores are in Bothwell and Dresden. Nearby Alvinston (25 minutes away by car) has Armor's Alehouse, which is a craft beer pub and restaurant with music most weekends. It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We have listed the restaurants, museums, a provincial park, etc., in the online guidebook. There is a hardcopy version in the treehouse. This is a quiet, pretty and friendly area. Biking is easy.
  • A truly memorable getaway trip! Lawrene and Harry were wonderful hosts who made our stay at the treehouse a very pleasant one. The treehouse was cozy, warm, quaint and rustic as described. From walking along the river, to sitting by the campfire, to gazing at the beautiful stars at night, the experience was indeed a magical one! Lawrene and Harry's treehouse exceeded all of our expectations! We will definitely be making our return in the near future.

  • Our fourth visit and as lovely and charming as it was the first time we visited four years ago. Communication, cleanliness and hospitality are A+ We always enjoy our time at the treehouse and Harry & Lawrene's company over breakfast the next morning. Until next time!

  • Lawrene and Harry are wonderful hosts, great to communicate with, extremely accomodating, and both lovely individuals. They made our stay pleasant and easy! This location is stunning. A treehouse, suspended over a river, surrounded by forests and fields. Walking up to the house feels like you are passing through 4 different fairy tale locations. While it does get quite muddy down there, the walk is pleasant and the scenery is great. Lawrene and Harry have left so many nice touches at the cabin, it feels very homey despite its small size. This is the perfect place for those who love to be surrounded by nature. I hope to visit again soon.

  • Very cozy little cabin! Everything you would need was provided! Lots of board games to play! The place was simply perfect, the wood stove kept us very warm, we had a great night sleep. We’ll definitely be back to this perfect spot in the summer months

  • Amazing place to stay! One of a kind experience!

  • Lawrene’s treehouse was a one of a kind experience. The treehouse is very cozy, even in -20, the wood stove heats it up in no time. Lawrene was very quick to respond to our request for extra wood on our second day. The site is picturesque and entirely secluded. The outhouse was very clean. Highly recommend this experience.

  • A wonderful getaway. Everything was as described. Sleeping bag was a great suggestion for winter guests. Lawrene was fantastic in responding to us and making us feel welcomed. She was super accommodating to reschedule our trip last minute when the initial date showed a forecast of heavy rain and flooding. She even ensured that we weren’t charged for the new rate. Now that we have experienced the winter wonderland, we are very much looking forward to a summer time experience! Things we would do differently when we return: make sure our dog has conquered his fear for bridge and steep stairs lol would pack lighter so less trips carrying things back/forth to the car (about 1km per description) - and more time to enjoy the beautiful scenery! Love the riverbank right next to the treehouse. The treehouse was small but nice and cozy for two. Bandaids, books, games, tea/instant coffee and extra tap water for emergency was a thoughtful touch. You will be completely off grid and not see a single soul during the stay - it’s fantastic. Thank you, Lawrene and Harry. - Rebecca and David

  • All the reviews for this place are very accurate! Much better then expected, has everything you need to enjoy a peaceful off grid stay. I had something come up and Lawrene was very accommodating with me showing up a day later. I will definitely be back in the summer. Thanks again
