“You don’t want to visit Toronto without taking some time to check out the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). Founded in 1914, the museum showcases art, culture and nature from around the world and throughout history, and is home to a collection of 13 million artworks, cultural objects and natural history specimens, showcased in 40 gallery and exhibition spaces.”

Museum
“It’s fitting that a museum devoted to shoes would be located in Yorkville, Toronto’s fashion-forward shopping mecca. Bata Shoe Museum focuses on footwear from around the world and throughout time. Four exhibits are on display at any given time, one of which is fairly permanent and covers a general overview on the history of shoes for the past 4500 years, including Chinese silk shoes for bound feet and a huge collection of Native American and Arctic footwear. Among their celebrity shoes, you’ll find the Dalai Lama’s flip flops, Marilyn Monroe’s high heels, and Elton John’s platforms. The museum is open every day of the year, except Christmas and Good Friday. Admission is $14, except on Thursday evenings when it’s “pay what you can,” with a suggested donation of $5.”

“Next to University of Toronto's St. George Campus, The Annex is a lively area that draws students to its casual eateries, indie bookshops, bars and cafes on Bloor Street West. It also has the iconic Lee's Palace rock concert venue, the quirky Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema and the Royal Ontario Museum art and natural history museum, one of the largest in North America. Leafy residential streets feature stately homes. ”

““Middle Eastern bubby food” is how one former food critic describes the tasty fare served at Fat Pasha. We'd add it's got that signature, updated Anthony Rose twist, the restaurant's owner/chef. Lively, fun and a great place to gather with friends who want to share bigger plates or order their own, you can't go wrong with the za'atar butter flank steak or the whole roasted cauliflower with tahini, halloumi and pomegranate seeds.”

“Sotto Sotto's Italian cooking is flavorful and filling, but it may not impress food-lovers accustomed to more inventive menus—in some ways being at this restaurant is more important than eating at this restaurant. That said, the seafood risotto (which takes about 40 minutes to prepare) is incredible. ”
