Founded in 1957, my grandfather, Sakaichi Tanai, ran a ryokan called "Aiwaso" for the cultural development of Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture.In order to preserve its history and traditions, "Hiroko", my grandson, has been restored and opened in 2021. Located on the ruins of Uenoyama Castle, this inn is a pure Japanese house with floors.Please spend time in 2 Japanese-style rooms.There is an inn on a hill overlooking Tanabe city, so you can enjoy the sunrise in the morning, sunset in the evening, and at night.On a day when the wind is calm, I recommend the cypress wooden deck, which is created with the image of the moon view of the Kwai Rikyu Palace, and I recommend tea time for the rattan chairs on the veranda. The new bath and toilet are accessible and spacious, so you can easily bathe together or need assistance. We have installed popin.aladdin (lighting with projector) in one of the Japanese-style rooms.Projected on the Ż You can watch TV, music, movies, etc.Enjoy BGM etc. on youtube before going out in the morning. My parents, Kiso Tanai, and Yuko (Japanese) live next to the inn, so please feel free to contact us if you need anything.

"Guesthouse Agae" is a small house for rent in a renovated old private house in a village called "Kinju", a popular village for travelers walking on Kumano Kodo and Nakabeji.(Opened in September 2020) Kumano Kodo and Prince Kumano are about 550 meters (about 7 minutes on foot), and supermarkets, bus stops, and restaurants are within 30 seconds on foot, making it a very convenient location. Since the owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, we will respond as much as possible to questions and advice about walking on the old road, and pick up and drop off in case of trouble.A personal guide is also available, so please feel free to contact us. It’s a house 8km from the Hongu Taisha. (about 15 minutes' drive) If you have a car it's more convenient, but if not I'll be happy to drive you to and from a bus stop or a tourism spot in Hongu area.Also I provide two bikes at the house. My family run an organic farm, bakery, NPO offering long-stay for the youth, and an alternative school for children nearby. This house was built 120 years ago and stayed by a lot of people who have plan to go to Koya-san. The house is in front of the river and you can take a look. It will make relaxed. We can do tea ceremony, if you want. We have 2 toilet and 1 bath room with big bath tab made by a Japanese special wood, Hinoki. There is a 24h super market, Okuwa near the house.(5 min away by a car) And high rank Japanese beef restaurant(2 min by a car) You can enjoy Yakiniku.

The whole house rental Kumanoyasai BASE.

The accommodation is in Chikatsuyu near Kumano-Kodo. 5min by walk from Chikatsuyu-oji. You can feel nature from the accommodation's window. Also you can see a lot of stars when you sit on the wood deck in night, and see the sun set in evening. There is a supermarket 5min by foot. It's closed 6 pm. I have my coffee shop near the accommodation. You come and enjoy to drink espresso. The plan is included breakfast.

Kumano house

between kamikura shrain and hayatama shrain at the walk 10min. It takes 15min by walking from house to JR Shingu Station. There isn't anyone in the house. You can relax very much. Other things to note. This place has an official permission from local government and satisfied fire safety as a short term rental accommodation. Please note that we have legal obligation in Japan to request copy of passports.
