This apartment is across the road from the Fremantle Arts Centre which is a wonderful place to hang out with lots of free summer concerts, a visual arts program, a great cafe and lawn gardens. There are two other cafes really close by, The Broody Hen- a cute little hipster joint and Gesha which has great coffee and food. Further down James St, The Mantle(from 4pm Tues-Sun)has pizza, tapas and a cocktail bar. The Fremantle swimming pool is next door. This end of Freo is full of character with local designers selling their wares in shops like Megan Salmon on Queen Victoria st and Found at the Fremantle Arts Centre. It's a short stroll to walking tracks up the Swan River and it's all within walking distance to Fremantle's Prison, Markets and the Maritime and Shipwreck museums
The apartment is situated in the historic heritage listed Caledonian building in the charming East End of Fremantle, close to the Fremantle Arts Centre and the Fremantle swimming pool. It's a 10 min walk to central Freo or the port or the river and 50m away from the Fremantle CAT bus stop (free circle line) which will take you around Fremantle.

    Slide open patio doors and step into a garden surrounded by trees and filled with birdsong. Make meals in a simple, modern kitchen and dine alfresco. Explore nearby nature trails, and retreat to a tranquil space with a generously sized bedroom.
    The loft has its own private entry through its own covered front outdoor seating area. You have a separate bedroom with built I wardrobe and TV discretely tucked away. The kitchen adjacent links to the rear yard, which you have another covered outdoor area and your own BBQ. The laundry is access from the rear yard and is shared with another apartment. Up a ladder in the kitchen is a loft area with a day bed which can be used as a single bed that overlooks the bushland. The bathroom is also down two steps and off the kitchen through a passage. All of this is for your personal use and is not shared. Only Courtyard and garden areas are shared for access only.
    The house is a 5-minute drive from South Freo Beach and a few minutes away from the action of Fremantle. Walk to the beach and nearby Manning Park. A nature trail begins at the back door, offering views of the beach, coastline, and hills

    This second floor loft apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and a bedroom area with en-suite bathroom. There is a queen size bed and a chest of drawers. The dining table accommodates 4 people. The loft has a great view of Fremantle. Guests can park on the verge.
    This apartment has a private access and is a great space from which to explore exciting Fremantle. Music and art markets and food trucks are plentiful. The beaches and river are exceptionally beautiful.
    The apartment is located 5 mins drive or 15 mins walk from Fremantle cafes and 25 mins walk to the beach. There is a great cafe just around the corner. Shops, a pharmacy and a post office are a 5 minute walk on South Street.
  • Easy, comfortable, stylish stay with all the amenities we wanted as travelers coming from out of the country. Very easy checkin and checkout. The location, with our car, was ideal. Without a car would be okay too but a lot more walking in the heat.

  • We loved staying here, the space was so beautiful and bed was insanely comfortable! It's an easy drive into city centre or a less than 10 minute Uber. The small touches like nice brand shampoo and conditioner were particularly lovely as everywhere we had stayed previously didnt have anything. Communication with co-host Esther and Danny was really quick and they were very helpful. Would stay again!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay to explore Freo and all of Perth as it is close to major arterial roads. Definitely worth the stay would suggest having a vehicle to get around but buses and trains are close by. Will definitely stay there again next time in Perth.

Fast internet, tv, kitchen amenities, comfy bed and right in the heart of Freo l. Despite having to be in quarantine, Greg’s place really felt like home.     On a quiet, tucked away lane in the heritage heart of West Leederville, is a light-filled and airy studio apartment overlooking a green and flower-filled private courtyard. From sleepy first-light chirping, there's a constant chatter of birdlife especially in the big Liquid Amber tree which gives the treehouse treasure its unique character.
    With polished wooden flooring, private bathroom, Scandinavian furniture, double bed (solid fold out couch) and great cooking facilities (scanpan, microwave, rice cooker, fridge) this is a very comfortable space.
    This area is the heritage part of West Leederville where many of the houses were built around 1920. The big, graceful street trees which create such a cool, shady environment were planted many years ago.
  • The treehouse was a lovely quiet retreat amongst the trees. The breakfast included was an added bonus with many more extra goodies supplied. Would highly recommend to others to stay in the treehouse & we will be back one day soon.

And an independent entrance so no need to bother the host. Excellently situated for local transport links to and from the city. Buses and trains run regularly. There is a very good range of local restaurants and bars all within a few minutes walk.

  • It is much more beautiful than Sijin. There is a large mart just a 1-minute walk away, a subway 3 minutes away and a free cat bus 5 minutes away. Best of all, the beautiful Monger Lake is a 10-minute walk away. I took a walk every day, and the beautiful scenery keeps remembering over time. The house was clean and there is also a small own garden. I filled up the food in the refrigerator so I could have breakfast. Please go. Strongly recommend

It really is a Tardis and one of the most cleverly designed and best appointed accomodations you are likely to find on Airbnb. Everything about this inner Freo bolt hole is perfect and you will be torn between just staying in to enjoy this thoughtfully furnished home & private courtyard or exploring the immediate neighbourhood: try and do both! The location could not be better 2 mins from a great beach, all the shops and 20m to a superb coffee bar and another 5m to one of the best dining experiences in Freo at Bread & Common. Go to Freo. Stay at Janine's! Warning: 3 days is not enough time!!

    Warehouse apartment centrally located in the city of Fremantle. The Loft is super spacious, well designed with all mod cons, and a balcony with sweeping views. It is also extremely close to bars, cafes, and restaurants. Perfect for romantic getaway or small family weekender!
    This warehouse apartment is a classic example of the heritage buildings in Fremantle's West End. The studio apartment of exceptionally large size, located on the top floor of the DJ Fowler building is both stunning and comfortable. This 3 level apartment is a complete studio setting, with no actual separated rooms. It is very large however and we have different sleeping areas set out. There are three beds, a double and a king and a fold out queen, all of which are on the top floor. The double is suited to either a single person, two small-medium sized adults or children. Due to the vast scale, there are areas of the house possibly unsafe for children. We have installed safety gates are on the top and bottom of the staircase, and also have the top floor ballustrade child protected. To the north, on the top floor is a balcony with impressive views of the working port. It gives a beautiful array of light and activity in the evening, where cruise ships, cargo carriers and other ships such as the Leeuwin come in daily. The house comes equipped with heaters, adequate blankets, air-conditioning, and fans. There is a large fridge and more than adequate cooking facilities. We recommend going to Fremantle Markets on Market Street and collecting some fresh fruit and vegetables to take home and prepare dinner.
    This apartment is extremely close to Bread in Common and The Attic, two remarkable Fremantle restaurants. It is our highest recommendation to try these two restaurants out first, as are possibly the best in Fremantle. Also close by is the bar 'Strange Company', a local bar on Nairn St, that have many locals nestling in for an acquainted red or white over pleasant company. It is a relaxed place to grab a pre-dinner drink, though it is also worthwhile checking out their menu. If you are after sight seeing, recommended is the harbour where there are restaurants and breweries, including the renowned 'Little Creatures'. There are two Maritime Museum's, the newest one being an iconic building of Fremantle, located on Port side, near E-Shed ferries. The Fremantle Prison is another iconic building, where there are tours operating daily. The Fremantle Markets, only operate Fri-Sun as well as public holiday Mondays. Most restaurants on the cappucino strip operate 7 days, with late night sittings. If you are after a casual fish n chips, see either "Sweet Lips" or "Bather Beach House" down on the harbour side. It makes a spectacular sunset in both establishments.
  • The space is absolutely beautiful, such a pleasure to stay in. A quiet retreat in the heart of fremantle, walking distance to everything you could need - amazing cafes, restaurants, shops and the beach. We stayed here for our wedding and it was the perfect base to get ready and relax after. The beds are so comfortable. Really a great place for an inner city retreat. The style is gorgeous with a beautiful rooftop balcony overlooking Fremantle. Tips for travellers - getting to the car bay can be tight so keep that in mind with hiring a car. Also the apartment is up 3 flights of stairs so good to keep in mind for any mobility issues. These were not issues for us and we would love to stay here again. Absolutely, no hesitations in recommending!

  • This place was fantastic for us! You couldn’t ask for any better location, it’s within walking distance of all the cafes and pubs and bars, walking distance of the ferry and grocery store, it was just perfect! It was in such a trendy and colonial little street, so much character in this area! Jessica provided everything we needed, lots of clean towels, comfy beds and the kitchen has all the necessary things for a short stay! The upstairs loft was perfect for us three girls travelling together, she even had the sofa bed set up for us! The house would be perfect for a family, but no real privacy if you are travelling with two couples as it is all one big room upstairs! Also wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t fit and able with heavy bags as it’s an old building there is no lift, so it’s a lot of stairs to get up, but for us it was fine, it gave us a chance to burn off all of the calories we were eating at all the local trendy cafes!! One more thing is that we forgot something behind and Jessica was able to find this for us and organise for it to be sent back so thank you sooooo much Jess! All in all I give this place 5 stars it really didn’t disappoint! :)

  • We had a great stay at Jessica's place! We stayed with our 4 year old and the stairs weren't an issue. Our daughter loved going up and down. Jessica put in babygates in for us and was really accommodating to us during our stay. Car park was easy enough to navigate through with our 4WD and some patience! You could live here for a month and not be bored but only if you like stairs (we do) and don't want a full kitchen. Stay at unit 17 in the same building with the same host if you love to cook.     An ideal base to explore Perth or for business it is conveniently located near bus (85) to the city or short Uber ride. Also close to coffee shops and 'The Herdy' and a short drive to the beach. The Studio is above a laneway garage with its own separate entrance and car bay large enough to fit large 4 wheel drive. Guests will have their own key and free to come and go as they please. The studio is small but has everything you need, it has its own ensuite bathroom with luxurious bath and rain shower head. The apartment comes equipped with oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, reserve cycle heating and cooling, internet, Foxtel and Netflix.

    An authentic warehouse conversion apartment located in the heritage listed West End of Fremantle. - Ground floor loft-style apartment located in state heritage listed D&J Fowler Bag Store warehouse. - Located on Pakenham St in the middle of the West End, traditionally the best part of Fremantle. - My personal home when not being rented out, and so both fully fitted out and having that warm feeling of a lived-in home.
    A unique apartment in the heritage landmark building of the former D&J Fowler Bag Store warehouse. The warehouse complex now comprises of 17 distinct apartments converted into residential use, but retaining its original character. My specific apartment is a one bedroom, mezzanine loft style layout with an entry on the ground floor. Spanning 67 square meters internally over two levels, the furnishings reflect a darker and modern industrial style. There are two beds - a grand platform bed in the upstairs mezzanine bedroom, and lounge room sofa, which transforms into a double sized bed when required. Note that the space is essentially one big studio room however - the only interior door in the apartment is to the bathroom. The apartment is otherwise fitted out with what you would expect in a normal residential apartment - I live here when its not being rented out, and regularly walk to my work in the Freo CBD. Lastly, my apartment is 100% legally registered with the local council as short stay accommodation, and so you can feel safe in knowing that you won't have any worries about that side of things.
    The entire 'West End' district has recently been entered into the State Register of Heritage Places - and the apartment is located right in the middle of the district. Part of the entry states: "...the place is rare in Western Australia as a highly intact port city business district, retaining a range of buildings predominantly dating from the gold boom expansion era (1890s to the 1900s")..." It also is extremely well located in the context of the modern Fremantle, being a short walk to the cappuccino strip, the esplanade, the markets, and train station/main bus routes. Today the West End is generally known to be the 'best' part of Fremantle. Lastly, literally one building over is 'Bread in Common', a locally renowned bakery/restaurant/cafe that is a must-visit for any traveler passing through Freo - you can usually smell the freshly baked bread every morning from outside the apartments...

  • To say Rua and Peter's home is dazzling is an understatement. I don't think the pictures really do enough justice. The structure of the place is a bit unusual because their home has a unique design. We stayed in a self-contained loft upstairs, which is incredibly beautiful and private. Beware of many steps, but it offers an amazing view when you get there. This is a spacious apartment with modern furniture and decorations. Amazing location near the beach and close to everything Perth has to offer, plus wonderful and hospitable hosts. This home certainly tends everyone's wish for a perfect vacation.

We love the spaciousness of this open plan loft room with amazing balcony and its proximity to the loveliest beach( 2 mins walk). The area is very quiet, which we love, and there is a supermarket and few cafes within walking distance. It has everything we need as a couple and we hope to stay again in the future as have family living just up the road so it's pretty much an annual trip for us. This apartment has been my sanctuary for the past three years and it is now time to share the experience with those interested in immersing themselves in the West End lifestyle.
    The D&J Fowler warehouse is located in the West End of Fremantle, and within a leisurely strolling distance to all amenities such as beaches, cafes, restaurants, the train station, and other unique Freo locales. Within this two level penthouse loft apartment, a wall of huge windows spans the entire top front facade of the warehouse and fills the interior with light. Double height beamed ceilings complement the spacious dimensions of the lower level where the kitchen, dining area and lounge room form a luxurious open plan combined living space. Off the dining area, a wall of bi-fold doors opens onto a huge roof-top deck, perfect for relaxing while enjoying the 270 degrees of views across Fremantle. The spacious bedroom contains a low set king sized bed and is on the upper level together with a deluxe bathroom that contains a deep freestanding bathtub.
    The "West End" of Fremantle is entirely state heritage listed and considered to be the best part of Freo. There is even a large outdoor alfresco area, perfect to have a glass of wine and have dinner with some friends or just relax. We had part of our wedding festivities at the penthouse and all the guests were in awe of the place and Marias trendy interior design. Maria is the most promp caring and throughful host we have met. Location is very central in Freemantle with many eateries around the areas and coffee shops on the same street. Probably one of the best places we have ever been to, we look forwards to going back one day.

  • The three level apartment is located just a block away from the Main Street in Fremantle, 10 minutes walk from harbor side restaurants and 10 minutes the other way to the B she’d ferry terminal to Rottnest Island. The location is ideal, being right in the middle of town. It’s a renovated three storey old terrace with a mews in the back with security parking. The renovation is excellent with clean lines, fresh and modern bathroom and kitchen with contemporary furniture. Very funky. There is One queen sized bed is on the ground floor with a sofa, desk and TV. You go up the spiral staircase to the common area - modern spacious bathroom with laundry, a kitchen that’s well equipped, dining area, lounge area and TV then up the spiral stairs to the third level which is the other bed area. It’s a generous mezzanine space. It’s groovy and modern and all three of us (adults) loved the space and location. I don’t think it’d be suitable for families with little children, or if you have elderly folks traveling with you. Managing the spiral staircase in the dark (for a night time bathroom visit) is ok for teens and adults. The only surprise was in the check in/out instructions- guests are to remove the rubbish to the main collection bins. We’d never seen instructions like this before but did it anyway. Also there was an instruction to wash the linen and towels. That I had difficulty with considering this was not an “elcheapo” Airbnb and moreover, we had paid a cleaning fee with the prepaid booking. In all the 30 years of traveling extensively, I’ve never seen an instruction to launder the linen - not even at youth hostels. I can only imagine this sort of instruction is for long term tenants (that’d be reasonable for discounted long stays). Nonetheless this place was 5 stars in every respect.

    A gorgeous ground floor apartment with white walls, great high ceilings and a spacious combined living dining area. This is a converted heritage hall space so it has thick limestone walls and exposed steel beams. The apartment has an entry on Quarry St as well as it's James St. You'll love staying at this wonderful studio apartment so close to cafes and the Fremantle Arts Centre in Freo's East End. Just a 15 min walk to the train station and located on the free circle CAT bus (orange route).
    This apartment is across the road from the Fremantle Arts Centre which is a wonderful place to hang out with lots of free summer concerts, a visual arts program, a great cafe and lawn gardens. There are two other cafes really close by, The Broody Hen- a cute little hipster joint and Gesha which has great coffee and food. Further down James St, The Mantle(from 4pm Tues-Sun)has pizza, tapas and a cocktail bar. The Fremantle swimming pool is next door. This end of Freo is full of character with local designers selling their wares in shops like Megan Salmon on Queen Victoria st and Found at the Fremantle Arts Centre. It's a short stroll to walking tracks up the Swan River and it's all within walking distance to Fremantle's Prison, Markets and the Maritime and Shipwreck museums
    The apartment is situated in the historic heritage listed Caledonian building in the charming East End of Fremantle, close to the Fremantle Arts Centre and the Fremantle swimming pool. The location was amazing for RAC Arena (I walked back between matches - tennis), and also for public transport (Perth Station was just there - it took no time to get to Fremantle and also Mandurah - so cheap as well), along with the free Cat buses which enabled us to go to the Perth Mint, Kings Park etc without having to worry about a hire car), the shops including Myer, David Jones, Coles, Cinema etc were a two minute walk, but also the very chic and cool boutiques around King Street. The rooms were comfortable and we are sad we didn't get a chance to use the bath overlooking the greenery on the top floor. The home has a fabulous location where you still feel part of the Fremantle city but also right on the doorstep of the Roundhouse and Bathers Beach. The only issue we can see is the 3 flights of stairs it takes to get to the top but once you're up there, the view is second to none. Thanks again to Rob & Dawn!

  • We adored staying here and would come back in a heart beat. As Fremantle natives who've moved interstate we know the area really well and can't recommend it enough if you want to be at the heart of Fremantle's historic Bather's Beach and Round House neighbourhood. The apartment was fantastic - we especially loved the eclectic decor and converted warehouse architecture and for an added bonus the sunset views from the top floor terrace are insta-worthy. There are lots of stairs spread over four levels but they were a great way to burn off all the calories from countless coffees, pastries and fabulous meals we had while we were in town; most of which were found on our doorstep. The apartment was clean and comfortable and even though we were there in the middle of winter, we found it easy to heat and very cosy. Rob and Dawn were generous and responsive hosts and we really appreciated the little details like the yummy welcome pack (wine, beers, bread, eggs etc) they left waiting for us on arrival. Blackie, the resident cat, was a sweetheart - he was super friendly, wanted to hang out wherever we were and loved to welcome us home and receive lots of cuddles. Staying here is a treat if you want to be in the thick of it - world class beaches, early settler history, a vibrant local arts scene, interesting shopping and great food and drinks are all within striking distance. We'll be back!

  • I had a great stay at Jo's place. The location is terrific, cosy and it felt like staying somewhere in Italy. It was a long stay and I got to know the great neighbours. The gated internal courtyard felt safe and created a sense of community rather than an impersonal apartment block. Jo was very responsive and any issues are fixed straight away. Highly recommended.

  • This place far exceeded my expectations!! The loft is designed beautifully! The hosts Jo and Ray communicated very well and the little touches like Tim Tams, milk and even glad wrap in the kitchen made our stay so much more relaxing than what I had intended!! Considering I was supposed to be house hunting during our stay but I never wanted to leave Jo and Rays loft didn’t really work in my favour when it comes to sticking to a “To-Do-List” nevertheless I’m thrilled to have stayed there!! I hope to stay again, sooner rather than later! Love it!!

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and the new Perth Childrens Hospital are 2kms away, a pleasant walk, and there is a convenient bus which will take you there, or onto the University of WA. King Edward Memorial Hospital is less than a km away.
  • The Airbnb was absolutely amazing. It was clean and stylish. Very well suited for a couple. The balcony is so beautiful we sat out there every night. It was located in such a nice place with awesome resturants located a 2 min walk away.

The place is well located and couldn’t get any better, few steps away from the metro/train station, close to really good coffee place, malls and food stores. The bedding was amazing and the apartment is stylish and functional. Sam was also very accommodating for our last minute checkin changes which we appreciated. We loved our stay and defiantly recommend it.

Responsive, provided local tips and she went above and beyond to welcome us to Perth and her home. It was like royal treatment! The apartment was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. We recommend Tanja’s place and if we ever make it back to Perth this is the first place I will look at for a stay.
