  • Diane's place was perfect. She had everything we needed, and more. She was so friendly, and we loved meeting her and her husband and sweet puppy Kizer. We look forward to coming back 😁

  • Had a wonderful time! House was beautiful! Felt right at home!

  • Staying here was an absolute dream! We were only here for a short while but it was great! Diane and her husband were great and so responsive! We needed a lighter for the grill (they brought it right away) and unfortunately we had a flat tire the last morning we were there and needed to air up our tire for the time being and they brought an air compressor to us to use. They are great people and would highly recommend staying here!

  • Make sure to get there in the morning and not at night as we did. There's no signal, its super dark at night, there are lots of road curves that is scary traveling if you're not used to it. And the correct coordinates are these: "36.526884,-83.144313" Apart from the address mistake and getting lost we had an absolutely great time. The floor was dirty but a quick mop would be great. Apart from that, the house is clean and amazing! So comfy and you just feel at home. The view is incredible and the beds sooo comfy. I recommend to bring sandals since the floor was not the cleanest but also the floor was a bit cold. A bit chilly at nights but hopefully you know how to turn on the wooden stove. But if not I bet they could help you out. But I also recommend to head outside each morning and look at how the mist and sun shines there each morning. Diane was always there to help us with whatever we needed and her and her husband and doggy very polite.

  • What an incredibly peaceful place Cody Hollow is, deep in the mountains. The pictures do not do it justice. The residence is quite large inside due to impressive and high-vaulted ceilings in all main living areas. Truly, it feels so much larger once inside, with those high ceilings in the two living rooms, the kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom. I love the fact that the owners, when they hand-crafted this sturdy place, thought of everything when it came to expanding the outdoors into the indoor by including small porches connected to selected rooms, and done so around different sides of the building, which is just perfect for a morning coffee or afternoon tea. Other guest-friendly features:which Cody Hollow residence has, is an enormous amount of storage, ceramic-tiled floors, only three little steps to access front door, large well-stocked kitchen with gas stove & oven, microwave. Even the dining area is expansive. Bathroom is spacious with tub and shower. And the shower, has a strong water pressure! DirectTV is awesome in the first living room, and the other living room provides access to DVD usage. And their Wi-Fi surprisingly is very strong. Diane and Mike, the hosts ,have thought of everything to make the stay so relaxing. They are truly such kind-hearted, personable, compassionate people. They live across the pond so there is the privacy between their residence and the rental,, but their hearts are so beautifully large for their guests, that they are available to their guests, as needed. By the way, another plus is that you will be able to drive your vehicle right up to the door to unload and load your luggage, which I found to be extremely convenient. And, if you enjoy walking or hiking, the multiple acres of property they have, will give you plenty of space to enjoy the mountain scenery, and the absolute quiet. There are no neighbors, so if you are looking for a very special place that provides such value for such a great price, do not hesitate to book. The first moment I stepped into the place, Diane, the host, gave me a tour, and I booked that very first day for a return visit (which is only 3.5 hours northeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee) for September 2020! I was that impressed with its exceptional cleanliness, spacious, comfortableness and the hospitality. One important thing to remember: Once you turn off from US Highway 66 (which for a little bit, is also called Highway 31), do not rely on GPS for the "fork in the road" which your GPS will take you onto a loop incorrectly. Diane will give you the instructions to get to Cody Hollow, and follow her instructions exactly. The route to Cody Hollow is far easier than the GPS will tell you. Diane's instructions are the correct directions to get to Cody Hollow. Thanks Diane and Mike for such an amazing, serene vacation at Cody Hollow, and I eagerly look forward to returning several times, yearly. You both made me feel like I arrived "home." My heart is so full with gratitude for you both!

  • This was truly out of another world. This was my 1st Airbnb so I was completely blown away. Being outdoors with the kids was just what we needed. Our kids enjoyed the outdoor amenities and learning how to build a fire, there was so much to do and see we just didn’t have enough time to do it in a weekend. We are new to camping and have young ones so this was a great place to get our feet wet.

    Brian2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Easily the most unique and encouraging experience I’ve ever enjoyed through AirBnB. Lee is a treasure of a host and she’s so kindly shared her Appalachian loot with the rest of us. Everything from the romantic glass house, nostalgic retrofitted school bus, and quaint pond-side master suite, to the campy lounge, rustic fire pit, and essential (not to mention fully stocked) storage shed, was sparkling with a signature hospitality. If you’re ever anywhere close to the area (seriously, I’m talking max 2 hours here) I know you’ll find the trip over the mountain to Lee’s Sweet Retreat as rewarding and memorable as the colors of autumn themselves.

    Peter2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Expectations? You should be able to tell from the listed pictures if this is your kind of place or not. If your imagination is tickled, then you should go. It will be what you make of it, what you dream it to be. Lee sets the stage. You take it from there!! I, for one, would love to journey to Lee's Sweet Retreat regularly.

    Kimberly2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Second time coming and still love Lee’s Sweet Retreat! It is a great getaway spot with awesome hiking spots/waterfalls near by. Would definitely recommend!

    Barbara2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lee's retreat is so great! Such a fun place to stay. We will definitely be returning!

    Zac2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Had a good time.

    Sabina2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • There would never be enough words for me to adequately describe our experience at this oasis of pure magic. Details, details, details..whimsical ones at that. My husband and 3 kids enjoyed this space so incredibly much.. my children actually ASKED to go to bed so that they could sleep in the school bus! It was just beautiful to lounge around all day, watching the kids run across acres of grass and wildflowers..to be off the grid with no other option except enjoying each other’s presence..unplugged. There are so many fun things to find on this property, so explore your heart out!! We left once only to buy more eggs..but there is absolutely no reason to leave while you are here! It is a natural, whimsical wonderland and we were so terribly sad to leave. If you choose to stay at Lee’s Sweet Retreat, I hope you are able to relax as wonderfully as we did as well as truly appreciate all of the wonderful details she has put into it. Thanks again Lee! We will be returning!!

    Dani2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lee’s place is wonderful. In the full meaning of the word. If you come here, please remember that this is glamorous camping. With all you would expect with camping, but comfortable and lux. The outhouses are the cleanest and the have best touches that I have ever seen. The bath house is a pleasure, the cabins beautiful and comfortable, and so much privacy! I kept remembering the movie Swiss Family Robinson. There is a pleasure finding every hidden nook and cranny! If you are here on a Sunday, there is a great church of Christ only 15 min away! We will definitely stay again! Thank you Lee!!!

  • Kim’s cabin is beautiful. The view from the porch was so relaxing. We stayed for 6 days and visited national parks in three states never driving more than an hour to get there. It really is a great central location with great amenities. Kim was super quick to respond to any questions we had. Every encounter with Kim and her husband was enjoyable. She gave us multiple ideas of places to visit and we even extended our stay to rent a boat for the day at Norris Lake and try Jimmie’s upon Kim’s recommendation. They truly are nice people. We look forward to visiting again.

  • The absolute best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The Farm House is everything and more , breath taking views , the house is Decorated beautifully . The animals make you feel like you’re at home and you’ll never want to leave . Our family , young and old can’t wait to visit again in the future.

    Cindy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We travel to this area of TN frequently to visit family and found this hidden little gem to stay at Labor Day weekend. The farm house far exceeded our expectations. The house itself is beautifully maintained with the perfect farm house decor. There are several porches to choose from to time relax and enjoy the scenery. Our kids loved having the wide open spaces to run, play & visit with the cows, chickens, cats & dogs on the property. Both John and his dad were wonderful to work with and talk to (but they made sure to give us all the privacy we wanted and only chatted when we initiated it). It’s already been stated on reviews, but follow the directions John gives you and be prepared to disconnect! We loved this part of our weekend and have nothing but great things to say. We can’t wait to come with our family again!

  • great place to escape the modern hustle being surrounded by screens. you can connect with nature and reflect, getting back your sanity.

  • We arrived late on a Sunday yet Kim and her husband waited at their store to meet us and show us where the cabin was. Before we left for the cabin they asked if we needed anything from the store? It was Sunday, they were closed, yet they were thoughtful enough to offer. We weren't at the cabin more than a 1/2 hour and saw an eagle on the river. What a an ecological gem the Clinch river is. Be sure to study the area and the special mussels that live in the river. Truly a serene, quiet place. A special place tucked away, along the Clinch river, in beautiful eastern Tennessee.

    Kim2018-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place where you can get away from every day life and just be in beautiful nature this is your place. There are flashlights and lanterns inside the tent as well as string lighting and path lighting outside. We keep a generator under the deck for things like coffee machines and running fans. For showering, we have an on-demand tankless propane shower hooked up to a 275 gallon water supply tank. And for when duty calls, we utilize a camp-style bucket with toilet seat and fresh plastic bags to handle waste. Wood chips and a scoop help eliminate any unpleasant odors. We provide firewood, kindling, and a lighter which are located in the tent. There is a small campfire grate for cooking on. Also, while we do try to minimize bug life with area pest control treatments, we recommend you keep tent screens closed as much as possible and bring bug spray for added comfort and protection.
Thorn Hill is located in quiet Hancock County. As you meander down 131 heading towards our site, you’ll pass by cows and horses grazing on pastured land in the valley. If you decide to leave camp during the day, you’re close to many great adventures nearby that can be found with Google or Apple maps. • Awesome tent and Cody was super responsive and helpful!

  • If you havent done this.....you should! It offers everything and then some!! Mother nature didn't cooperate like We hoped she would but this place had everything we needed to stay warm, dry and cozy. Beautiful setting....and yes, tons of privacy! And Cody was a great host as well, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay!! Planning on making another reservation next year!! Excellent!!!

    Debbie2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great for nature lovers! Very secluded. I got to see a nice waterfall nearby.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for our Anniversary! It is a bit off the grid but totally worth it for the privacy! It was in the teens the first night, but the stove and heater kept us pretty warm inside the tent. Cody provided a camp stove with a grill pan which was a little easier than the fire grate. We brought our coffee pot and there was an extension cord to bring it onto the porch which was perfect! The shower had plenty of hot water for us. Cody was super quick to respond and bring us extra batteries and firewood when we needed them. The lanterns they provided put off plenty of light once new batteries were installed. This was an amazing trip for us and we plan to come stay again!

    Laurel2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a getaway, book here! The shower was honestly my favorite part. So tranquil. It was very clean. We stayed a night it poured down rain and the tent is very much waterproof and dry.

    Christina2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This location is a must for any outdoorsman (or woman). The site offers all the best of camping without the hassle AND some great amenities that you wouldn't otherwise have (like a hot shower) while off the grid. The interior was clean and well equipped with both a woodstove and propane heater. It rained like crazy on our last evening there, but the high quality canvas tent was perfectly dry and comfortable. In fact, the heavy rain coupled with the crackling woodstove fire was relaxing and soothing to the ear; well suited for reading and being lulled to sleep. Loved the custom deck! Great job.

    Kyle2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Place is really cute for a couple to get away. No cell service which was nice to escape. Firewood provided which is really nice. We used it for the stove at night and to build a fire to cook on. The stove handle gets really hot so be careful. The bed is amazingly comfortable and the sheets was very clean. If you are a light sleeper I would bring some ear plugs as there is a neighbor dog that barked literally from dust to dawn . Besides that the experience was perfect and we would definitely stay again. The host was very friendly and helped us finding new places to go

    Amanda2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cody’s place was excellent. Everything was clean and neat. We had two sources of heat which was nice because it was cold and rainy. We also had plenty of lanterns for light . Truly way out in the woods

This is a rural but historical area. You will find a framed map from the 1940's in the entry way that shows where families, churches, and schools were located. Today, it is a quiet neighborhood with Steep Rock Church as our closest neighbor. Jonesville was established in 1794 and named for Frederick Jones. However, families settled in this area in the early 1700's. The towns of Jonesville and Pennington Gap are close by for groceries and other amenities. Local tourist attractions include: White Rocks, Sand Cave, Hensley Settlement, Cumberland Gap, Wilderness Road State Park, The Natural Tunnel, and many more. Pennington Gap's park includes ATV trails, walking trails, and a swimming pool. Jonesville, has several day-time food options including: A Better Burger, Three Sisters Cafe, Subway, Papa Bears, and Happy Mart. There is a welcome notebook located on the desk in the entry way with more food options and list of area attractions for your benefit. You are welcome to fish, hike, and kayak (must have your own kayaks and fishing equipment) on our 72.5 acres of forest, fields, and river. Please use your own equipment and be respectful of the environment and neighbors. Enjoy this beautiful peace of heaven!
  • Theresa's cabin is a lovely hideaway close to Jonesville in Lee County. The cabin is very cozy and comfortable with lots of light from the many windows, and a wrap around porch lets you find that perfect spot to relax with a book. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment to whip up just about anything and the jetted tub in the MBA was welcome after a long day of driving. The property is quiet and secluded, with a variety of wildlife to see, and convenient to hike down to the river. If it were warmer, I would have enjoyed kayaking or floating the river, so I'll have to make plans to come back!

This lakefront bunkhouse is perfect for your stay in the Morristown, Tazewell, Jefferson City, or Rutledge areas. We host folks from LMU, UTK football fans, and Bristol race fans! Mainly folks love our indoor decor and our outdoor views. Whether you're a fisherman or lake lounger, you'll love the floating dock. And when you're done on the water, you'll love the cozy comfort indoors. In the winter, our place makes a great executive furnished apartment. Ask about our off-season rates!
Our space is great for couples, small families, or a group of close-knit friends. There is a full kitchen complete with a large refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, and good-sized sink. While there's a table in the open kitchen/living area, we think you'll love the picnic area (complete with fire pit!) outside, between the bunkhouse and the lake. The living area features a very comfortable sofa and television. The bedroom has it's own television, where you can watch right from the bed. There are also two ottomans that convert into twin sleeper beds (and are way more comfortable than a sofa bed).
This is a family neighborhood. Loud music and parties are NOT allowed. We now have a Dollar General for any supplies you need just a few miles away.
  • Fantastic views from this very cute tiny house. We saw an amazing sunset and an equally amazing sunrise. You won't be disappointed.

  • Very lovely and cozy. Beautiful and quiet. Very relaxing listening to the river. The camper has all the comforts and very clean.

  • If you are looking to get away and escape from ever ringing cell phones and the internet then this is the place to be. We loved loved loved the sounds of the river and how beautiful it is there. The travel trailer is great for a family of 2 - 4 people.

  • Judy and her husband were extremely kind and cooperative. There were lots of options for outdoor living and relaxing. Hope to visit again!

    Lisa2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for a weekend getaway...peace and quiet and a beautiful area away from it all. Beautiful place and the hosts, Judy and her son Gary, were very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place and hope to visit again soon. Place was super clean and well kept. Thank you for sharing it with us!

    Syndee2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Judy's place was hands down one of the best experiences that my fiance and I experienced. Judy and her family was very welcoming and comforting. They had easy house rules to follow, providing all the cleaning supplies you would need to leave the camper as you found it, which was spot on. The camper was not only extremely clean, but it had a home-like atmosphere with plants, fully furnished with dishes, utensils, a coffee pot, a charcoal grill and firewood was even provided. There was an outdoor patio with table and chairs with an awning over it along with a double swing out by the campfire and two chairs on the bank for fishing. The scenery was excellent on Clinch River with the best water rushing sound to relax by. We could sit there for hours listening to the water, watching the duck and geese play, or simply looking across the river watching deer and other wildlife. We watched several people float down the river in tubes, kayaks or canoes. Right up the road you could rent these items and would be taken up the river by an employee so you could end back at your vehicle from a 2-8 hour trip (we did a 4 hour trip that was exhilarating). Although Judy and her family was next door or across the street, they left you alone unless you stopped them to chat. Various maps were printed out for us to know what roads were closed at that time and how to get to town. The locals were very friendly waving anytime you would drive by their homes, and the few neighbors kept to themselves. If you're a camping person, I can guarantee you would appreciate Judy's Place!

Mendin' Fences is a working farm. During the summer months, we host horsemanship clinics. For more: you can find us on the web by the name of our farm. We are a great destination for a quiet getaway, a horse stopover, or even a family reunion if renting the additional bunkhouse. In each direction, you can find many activities to enjoy: Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; wineries; historical sites (Rogersville & Jonesborough in particular). Two airports are 50 min & 1.25 hrs away.
We moved to northeast TN from Florida. Like many people, we wanted to escape the hectic pace. When Vic retired from the police department, we launched a not-very-semi-retired plan to have a farm and to host educational clinics. So, we have cows and make hay and have an assortment of cats and dogs and, of course, horses. Each year, in May and June, we have an international horse clinician come to our facility to coach adult horse owners about problem-solving and getting a better relationship with their horses without force or gimmicks. These are VERY successful and we have a LOT of fun. (**Please note that during the clinic dates (Mid-May to Mid-June), we have a 3-day minimum required ) Anyone who is staying at our great place during the clinics is welcome to sit in and watch the magic. They are entertaining, even for non-horse peepz. ** NOTE about PETS: We love animals! We understand that they are part of the family. Please discuss bringing your pet with us and get PRIOR approval. ** NOTE about SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: There is the queen bed in the bedroom; a futon in that bedroom becomes a bed -- it is not a full-sized double so most appropriate for one person or for children; the futon/couch in the living room opens to a regular double-size. We mention these dimensions because we want you to be comfortable so take these into consideration when considering the accommodations. ** NOTE about NUMBER OF GUESTS: We have set the limit on the number of guests at what we feel best suits the size of the cabin and for the sleeping arrangements. We operate on the "honor system" and expect our guests to be truthful about the number of guests when making the reservation. If it is determined that more guests than originally reserved arrive, we know you will understand revising your ABB reservation before actually checking in. ** NOTE about CLEANING: We are currently not charging a cleaning fee. We have been VERY fortunate in having lovely and respectable guests staying with us. We ask that you help us continue offering affordable rates for our cabin by being respectful and responsible guests. Lately, my big project is to learn to speak Italian. Why did I think I could do this at this late stage in my life??!! It is fun and challenging. We have visited Italy several times and have had the most fun staying at an "agriturismo" which is similar to what we are offering here. One day, maybe some folks will jump over the pond and stay with US. Right now, we'd like YOU to come and relax and explore this beautiful undiscovered part of the United States.
After a loooong search, we found this farm that had been abandoned for several years. Twenty years later, this is a VERY different place. One of the things we appreciate most is, of course, the views, the space, the solitude AND that we get all that and within 7 miles have access to grocery stores, restaurants, fast food, some shops, etc. The best of both worlds!
  • Nice private space and The Host is super nice. Cool property!

  • Linda is an incredible host and the cabin is one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever stayed in! Fully delivered on comfort and gorgeous views. It was helpful to know that the cabin uses well water which has a slightly sulfuric smell but isn’t harmful at all. Would totally recommend to anyone who wants to stay somewhere very special in beautiful Tennessee!

  • Great spot off the beaten path yet well worth the extra mile. If country is your thing you will love this place. Vic met us even though we checked in late. Breakfast items were wonderful. Comfy bed. Very peaceful. Awesome to have dogs stay with us. Thanks a bunch Linda and Vic.

  • Lovely & peaceful! Sit on the porch to watch deer and birds. Sleep soundly on a comfy bed. Eat out or cook for yourself in the kitchen. Explore the beautiful countryside around Rogersville or relax & watch a movie. It’s a good place to unwind.

  • Danny was a great host! The place was sparkling clean and in a beautiful rural setting. I had the entire basement to myself. I highly recommend. :)

  • Beautiful view, great bed and linens, soft towels, clean and a great get away!

    Jane2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Danny is a tremendous guy. Very friendly and helpful. On the third night in I misjudged my fuel level and asked Danny if he might have a gallon of diesel. He didn't but told me there was a place 5 miles away (on a route I had not traveled) to get diesel. He offered to take me there so I would not have to risk running out. That act of kindness is above and beyond and the kind of guy he is. The space itself is the best value I have experienced on AirBnb. Top of a ridge with beautiful views.

  • My wife and I loved staying here. It's convenient to Cumberland Gap, Harrogate, Tazewell and Sneedville and much more spacious than a standard hotel room. Our hosts went to extra effort to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The local scenery and the peace and quiet are wonderful here.

Lesley's Lake House is a charming chalet on the Lake in Bean Station, TN. We have 180' of waterfront & a floating dock . The lake is drawn down, mid Sept - Apr, this means the dock will not always be in the water depending on the lake volume (please take this into account when booking Sept - Apr, you can still pull your boats up on the shoreline & tie them off) ***Consider a week stay for a 15% discount, or a month for a 20% discount!***
The Lake House sits on over an acre of land with plenty of room between neighboring houses. The living room and dining room are open, with a kitchen that has all you will need for your stay. There is a USB outlet at the coffee station. In the back there are two bedrooms (each with two USB outlets) and a full bath. Head downstairs to the third & 4th bedroom, laundry and 2nd full bath. There is Central Heat and Air, and each bedroom has ceiling fans. Living room also has a USB outlet. Sleeps 6 adults comfortably, 4th bedroom is set up for 3-4 kids or two adults. The 4th bedroom (in basement) is set up as a kids room, with a futon bed(twin size), and a Twin over Full bunk bed. There are two large flat screen TV's with cable, and internet as well as videos, games books and coloring books available for those rainy days. The very spacious covered deck lets you enter from three sides of the chalet and has a fantastic views of the lake and surrounding hills. Covered parking for motorcycles in front of the walkout basement. 4 kayaks, paddles and adult life-jackets are available for an additional $10 a day per Yak. We do not provide children sized life-jackets, **you must bring your own**. Paddlers must sign a hold harmless agreement which are available on-line(message us for it).
Lake Cherokee is 28,000 ac lake with 400 miles of shoreline. Great fishing and boating right out the door! 5 minutes by boat or car to the German Creek Marina for launching, fuel and supplies. There will be a list of our favorite restaurants and things to do nearby.
  • It was perfect for our family. We didn’t get to enjoy it much because we were with my dying brother most of the time, but loved it while we were there!

    Pamela2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I rented the Lakehouse after my grandmother (a 30-year resident of nearby Bulls Gap, Tn) passed. I was looking for a place where my family could relax and reminisce. We were not disappointed. We cooked, laughed, cried and caught up with each other in a very comfortable and homey setting. Lesley was a welcoming host. Access was easy - Lesley texted the codes in advance of our arrival and the place was well-stocked. The only caveat to mention is the rear lower level bedroom does not have windows and can be somewhat stuffy. The Lakehouse also seems like an ideal place for the summer months too, with its spacious deck and access to the lake. Great value as well!

    Martin2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • My colleagues and I stay at an Airbnb every week. But this one tops them all!! It was truly a remarkable stay!!

    Chad2019-12-11T00:00:00Z

Our family home built in 1969, recently renovated with a taste of the 70's. Peaceful setting tucked back in Cooney hollow!
  • The Bledsoe house is a very lovely place to stay! Sandra always quickly responded to any questions we had. We really enjoyed the 3 weeks that we lived there!

    Laura2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Its kind of neat retro type farm house. I actually love the throw back 70s living room and kitchen. Its quiet and peaceful. The wifi is pretty good for being such a rural location i had plenty of bandwidth to stream video for instance. Sandra is nice enough to let her guests use her own netflix and hulu accounts on the tv. Everything is old school and analog which i actually really liked. The house has everything youd expect like dishware cookware, soap, paper towels, etc. 3 rooms with double beds. I will say i prefer a much softer bed all of these were pretty firm just fyi for travellers. Everything was clean and basically as advertised. Its peaceful and quiet and plenty of local wildlife around. I would be glad to stay again.

Our modest, built on the property by former property owners, cabin is a cozy compact little space about 50 yards behind our home at the edge of the woods. It is private from the road, and secluded from our house, but close enough so that you can knock on the back door if you need something. We are a busy farming family. We raise animals, have a 14 year old, market our meat and mind our fences and our many rescue dogs and cats.
As a guest, you can expect to be able to cook meals, shower and relax in our space. There is a gas grill and a fire pit available for your use exclusively. You will not, however be able to make a cell phone call or download a movie. There is no cell service on our property, and we have limited wify on the satellite . There is running hot and cold water in our cabin, but we do not have an addition septic system for the cabin. We maintain a composting toilet for you.
We live is a rural small town. Entertainment consists of a bowling alley, a movie theater and a few restaurants. Monday nights the pickings are pretty slim, but the rest of the week there are more choices. On our property, if you bring boots or sturdy shoes that can take some mud, there are walking and hiking paths
  • It’s a little hillbilly shack, but the shower is hot, the kitchen works well for most things and it’s comfortable. What makes it really awesome are all of Elizabeth’s little touches, fresh eggs and milk, sausage grown right here, her happy smiling dogs, the games, videos and little decorative touches. The amazing chocolate cookies and herbal teas, even the extra soft fuzzy blankets. We stayed a lot longer than we meant to, but we didn’t mind a bit. Their little working farm with the pet table pugs and geese was exactly the break I needed from the grind!

    Maria2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • JEM Farm was lovely. They were kind and considerate hosts and I highly recommend staying with them!

    Mike2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • My mom and I rented Elizabeth's place for Thanksgiving and greatly enjoyed our time spent together in the tiny house on the farm. Elizabeth and her family were so welcoming and kind-hearted. I loved that the hillbilly hideout is all one room (except for bathroom), because it really allowed us to spend quality time together. The place is very cozy and quiet, and perfect for someone looking to get away and relax. There was a great variety of movies to choose from and comfortable beds/couch with lots of blankets to snuggle up with. The walkway to the tiny house is very well lit, and they even provided head lamps for us to use. The cabin stayed very warm with the heaters they provided. As animal lovers, we really enjoyed all the fur babies and farm animals; and they were more than willing to give us a tour of the farm when my 4 year old niece joined us for a couple of nights, which she really enjoyed. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for everything !

    Hannah2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in a secluded spot in a beautiful valley. Keep in mind that it is a cabin on a farm, so don’t expect it to be a hotel room in the city. Kitchen is fully functional, and great shower with plenty of hot water, at least for one person, I was there solo. As someone else said, the potty part of the bathroom situation probably isn’t for everyone, but hey you have to realize that it’s a cabin in a remote Appalachian valley. There is a wide variety of farm animals to see, but no barnyard odors in the cabin as it is up the hill from the animal areas. Host communication was excellent.

    Karl2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such sweet down to earth people. Their southern hospitality is something everyone needs to experience. Cute , simple and primitive house. The kids loved feeding the pigs, turkeys and chickens when they got up! We will be back to visit soon!

    Sarah2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly as advertised. Our hosts (2 legged and 4 legged) were great. It was a nice quiet place to land after a day with relatives.

    Jeff2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • As described, this is a rustic cabin on a farm. Elizabeth was very gracious and accommodating. While it is a private, quiet setting, just keep in mind that it is on a farm with a plethora of animal noises that you might not be used to! We had a wonderful time and would recommend Elizabeth (and her family) as great host(s).

    Laura2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at JEM Farm! Our goal was to disconnect from society and breathe. Their cabin was perfect for this! This were so hospitable and had everything we might possibly need available to us. And our dogs absolutely had a blast running around! If you're looking for a break from the constant go-go-go of city life, their cabin is the perfect getaway! I highly recommend a visit here!

This adorable house is an East Tennessee amenity residing in a small lake town. Cherokee Lake is but minutes away and is one of the best of its kind. It is a host to several fishing tournaments and is a must for recreational boating, kayaking, swimming etc. If you want to venture out, (Dollywood) Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg is an easy day trip. Dogs (no cats please) are allowed. There is an additional fee of $25 per pet. See details in house rules.
There is space to park a boat or boats.
  • We stayed here for four nights. The house is extremely clean, the totally fenced in yard is amazingly large. The neighborhood is quiet, no noise, we felt very safe. We especially liked have a little private fenced in area to park our car. The location is about 45 mins from Gatlinburg. Most places we went to were an easy 20 minute drive to get to. You must go to the Green Tomato for dinner while you are there--food was delicious! I would definitely stay here again.

Studio apartment (all one large 500 square foot living area) sleeps six with private entrance, kitchenette, full bath, in restored 1904 farmhouse on 140 acre horse farm in the beautiful Tennessee Valley. Three stocked fishing ponds, miles of hiking trails. Pets are welcome.
Renaissance Farm is a 140 acre breeding and training horse farm specializing in the rare and exotic Lusitano and Andalusian horses of Spain, Portugal and Brazil. Our guest apartment is just steps away from the duck pond, stocked with large mouth bass and overlooks the herd of miniature horses and ponies who are always looking for attention. In addition to horses, many other animals call the farm home including goats, chickens, ducks , geese and the always necessary farm cats and dogs. This rural setting is just eight miles from I-81, an hour from Bristol Motor Speedway, Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Pets are always welcome and horses can be boarded for an additional fee. Home cooking is also available with advanced notice and for an additional fee.
Bulls Gap, Tennessee is a rural town still untouched in many ways by time. Breathtaking views are around every corner and the Tennessee Valley provides an outstanding climate as well as numerous public and national parks.

  • While this apartment is a bit out of the way, it is an adorable apartment on a lovely property. Walking around to see the horses and ducks was certainly a welcome change of pace for us. Maria was easy to work with and a great communicator. We knew to bring our food just needing to be warmed and served. The beds were comfy, even the the bunk beds. On our next trip to Biltmore, we will definitely stay here again. You should too.

  • This is an amazing place! It was quiet and peaceful, but also fun and exciting. We all loved fishing and meeting the horses and the minis, the dogs and cats, the ducks, geese, frogs and surprise snapping turtle. The hosts were very welcome and warm, and we felt at home. Thanks!!
