Shrewsbury is famous for its annual flower show in Quarry Park. It has a beautiful river where you can spend some lazy time on Sabrina the river boat. Shrewsbury also has oodles of historic buildings, a theatre and shopping. It has an award winning market where you can buy a locally sourced picnic, try out its unique cafes or wander round to the Gin bar. Shrewsbury also has festivals all year round which usually include music, eating and drinking. It is a good base to explore Shropshire's treasures such as Ironbridge or walking in the AONB hills of Church Stretton. The studio is situated in a residential area on the outskirts of Shrewsbury with lovely river walks nearby. A supermarket, pub and golf driving range are within a five minute drive or easy walking distance. Eateries and shopping and the can be reached by walking (20 mins), driving (5 mins) or by public transport bus (bus stop 10 mins walk).

Shrewsbury is a prominent town in Shropshire often referred to as "the gateway to Wales" but it has a rich and varied history. Charles Darwin was born and raised here and you will find references to him throughout the town. We have many old buildings going back 500 years or more, and there are over 500 listed buildings. The Abbey Church is just a 5 minute walk from us, home to the fictional detective monk, Brother Cadfael.

  • Louise's home was very tidy, expertly decorated and very cozy. She was a wonderful host who was willing to provide tips on things to do and places to see while we visited. It was a pleasure staying with Louise and I would recommend it to all!

Koselig!

The Seven Stars Inn is a Grade II listed, former Brew House/Coaching Inn built in the early 1800's. It's a step back in time with many original features such as open fire places, wooden beams and low doors. Located just 2 miles from the Welsh border, halfway between Shrewsbury and Welshpool, its the perfect place to stay. Whether your exploring, visiting friends, attending a wedding, working or just wish to chill out. Next door is the Halfway House Pub and Restaurant for a friendly drink & meal.
  • This is a good value budget accommodation. The rooms were warm and had clean bedding with towels / tea and coffee facilities. It’s an old building which has retained its character and got a rustic feel. Therefore if you are looking for a modern hotel type accommodation it may not suit your needs. However for a cosy family room for 3 for a price that which worked out cheaper than many hostels we found it more than adequate. We were greeted with kindness and hospitality and enjoyed our stay.

We also have a twin room. We are situated just 5 minutes walk from Shrewsbury town centre up a small private drive. The house is immensely comfortable and welcoming, bright and spacious. We have been running a B&B for 14 years at another property so know what we are doing !! The Birches is 15 minutes walk from the train station (5 mins by taxi), just ten minutes walk to the town centre and bus station. Both rooms can be let as single occupancy - please contact us for pricing.
The double room is very light and airy with a great view over the rooftops to Shrewsbury town centre. The double room is en suite with a full bathroom and shower.
Just 5 minutes walk brings you to the Quarry Park and river, one of Shrewsbury's most famous attractions. We are also 5 minutes walk from the town centre. We have many fabulous restaurants in the town, great coffee shops and a couple of good nightspots. The town boasts 75+ independent shops.
  • We would not hesitate to recommend to any one looking for bed and breakfast in Shrewsbury- they are situated in a quiet residential location only 5 minutes walk from the river, the park and the town centre. They provide an excellent breakfast to set you up for the day and our hosts could not have been more thoughtful (to the extent of suggesting we could keep a key and leave our bags at their house after checking out so we didn't need to carry them with us during the day).

  • Great Airbnb!!! Exactly what we expected. The photo represents Judie's house really well!! We were in the twin room. The beds were comfortable, we were nice and warm, there was a kettle, tea bags, coffee and milk waiting for us in our room. After a day of driving I can assure you that you are more than thankful to be able to make a cup of tea!! Towels were also waiting for us on our beds, in the cupboard were 2 bathrobes - very nice!! We had a private bathroom and what a bathroom: excellent shower, powerful and seemed to be brand new! There was also a bath which is a real plus. And real luxury: thick and comfy carpet in the bathroom. Breakfast was included in the price; a typical English breakfast very good and rich! Beans, tomatoes, potatoes, toast, bacon, sausage. We also had cereals, orange juice and tea and coffee! What a good way to start a day :) The hosts, Judie and Richard couldn't have been more kind. We had a problem with our rented car and Judie kindly offered that we stay on in her house even though we had already given the room back! Really helpful, they gave us good addresses of place to go etc... To conclude, great attention to detail, great house, great hosts: a real English experience. I recommend ! Thank you Judie and Richard for your kindness and warm welcome to Shrewsbury!

  • Judie is an excellent hostess. The room was well-maintained and comfortable, part of the reason that I enjoyed my time in Shrewsbury. Breakfast was splendid! Thank u Judie :)

  • Judie and her husband made us feel really welcome and were very friendly and chatty, even lending me an umbrella for the night. Lovely place, very comfortable and the facilities were excellent. Our private bathroom was enormous with a fabulously powerful shower. Breakfast was great and Judie was very accommodating with our specific requests. Would definitely stay here again and it was situated in a very quiet area but so close to the centre of Shrewsbury that we could walk to our party venue.

    Cheryl2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable place, rich breakfast, warm and loving Judie
