Toho Bijin house was originally built 150 years ago in the late Edo period. Along with traditional architecture, the house also has local antiques like Wajima lacquerware and Kutaniyaki pottery. Tastefully renovated, this house has a new shower, small western table and chairs, and a beautiful Japanese garden, so you can feel the Japan of old while relaxing comfortably. Rent your own traditional machiya, and experience a truly relaxing time in Kanazawa. We look forward to having you.
The ground floor has a kitchen, shower, living room, Japanese garden, and a restroom. Upstairs, two serene rooms await you for a relaxing rest. The house has two comfortable futons. The stairs in the house are steep, and may not be suitable for small children or elders, although the futon can be placed on the ground floor as well.
The property is located right across the river from downtown Kanazawa, with hundreds of restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. The Nishi Chaya District, one of the three geisha districts in Kanazawa, it’s just down the road, perfect for a stroll while listening to the wafting sounds of the shamisen. The ninja temple and samurai districts are also a short walk away, and the famous Kenroku-en garden and Kanazawa castle are easily accessible. Directly across from the house is a famous local shrine that holds a giant zelkova tree said to be over one thousand years old.
