However, car lovers are looked after with easy access to Melbourne's major arterials, such as Nepean Highway and Dandenong Road only a couple of streets away. *The 96 tram (20 -25 mins to Melb CBD), Albert Park Lake and heaps of cool cafes and restaurants are a stroll ST_KILDA'S ATTRACTIONS: St Kilda is one of the most interesting, beautiful and Bohemian parts of Melbourne. Hire a bike or jog along the beautiful foreshore The infamous St Kilda beach is minutes away by foot. Take a stroll down Acland Street and munch on some of the best pastries imaginable. Continue along to the St Kilda beach boardwalk and visit the fairy-penguin inhabitants at sunset as they return to nest after a hard day's swimming. Explore the coastal trail from St Kilda to Elwood (jog up heart-attack hill to clear the lungs!) Move on to Brighton, or head up to trendy Port Melbourne for a spot of roller-blading, sun-bathing and finish the day with the best crispy fish'n'chips (& salad!) by the port. Please note St Kilda is 'colourful', and has a long Bohemian history so you will see ladies of the night.
  • Vicki's chalet is small and cozy. She provided everything we need. My son and I stayed in this chalet for 12 days during our vacation in Melbourne. This place can easily get to all the places you want by the tram. To stay here is the most wonderful experience we have. We will come back again.

  • Great Host. Was easily contactable and made the whole process very easy. The cottage is great. Decent location once you find your way around!

    Baz2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is clean, modern and has everything for your stay. The cottage is only a 10min walk away from restaurants and St. Kilda beach. Vicki was extremely friendly and provided a great service. I will be definitely staying here on my next visit to Melbourne.

  • I recently stayed in this beautiful chalet for the 3rd time. I absolutely love it. This time I stayed for 3 months and it felt like home. Vicki is a wonderful host. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she makes the entire experience feel very special. I tour the country for work and it's very important to me to feel comfortable wherever I stay. The chalet is very private and extremely well appointed. It has one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. It's very well situated close to the hustle and bustle of St Kikda's Acland Street and the beach and also far enough say to feel secluded and private. It's hard to go back to a hotel once you have stayed in this little hidden gem. It's uber cute and the garden courtyard is perfect for morning coffee or a great lunch with friends. The pictures of the chalet don't lie, it really is that cute! I'm sure I will stay here many more times when I visit Melbourne. I can't recommend it highly enough.

  • Such a lovely chalet, we stayed 4nights at the beginning of our holiday before picking up a camper van ! The house was clean and tidy, fully equipped and so nicely decorated. Just a sort walk away are numerous restaurants, bars and local shops. It's also just a 20 mins easy tram ride into Melbourne which worked really well for us. Friendly mail contact and fast responses from Vicky the owner of the chalet. You really can't go wrong by booking this lovely chalet, can't wait to go back.

  • Vicki was an excellent host and the St. Kilda chalet a beautiful and comfortable abode. Vicki was always available by text and email yet allowed me the privacy I sought. The chalet was immaculate and well appointed with quality furniture, appliances and linens. A perfect stay!

  • What a lovely little cottage located in a quiet neighbourhood! It is also very close to Acland street, about 10 minutes walking distance. We had enjoyed our stay for two nights. Our dog enjoyed wondering around the outdoor areas. We got everything we need and the cottage is very clean. The communication with Vicky is easy and prompt! Highly recommended!

Welcome to Little George, a light-filled 3 level home in vibrant Fitzroy filled with comfy furnishings and vintage touches. With Fitzroy's almost 100 cafes, restaurants, live music venues, cocktail bars and pubs you have chosen a wonderful area to stay in. This is an award winning Kerstin Thompson house and has been my home for 16 years. I love living here - I hope you'll enjoy visiting, it's nice to have you!
Hi there, This listing is for one bedroom on the ground floor of my large 3 level home just off the wonderful Gertrude Street. (I have 2 rooms available - the other listing is 'Stunning Fitzroy own level+ensuite' listing #72576). ***Please not I only have 1 parking permit so please check it is available before booking, it usually is but it's definitely worth checking*** This is an excellent spot for guests in Melbourne for a short time who want that 'local feeling'. Or for those lucky folk who are moving to Melbourne (nice choice!) it's a great landing pad while you look for something permanent. Located in between action-packed Brunswick and Smith Streets, this is a fantastic, diverse area full of great cafes, restaurants, wonderful local pubs, art galleries, parks, live music venues, diverse architecture and the Melbourne Museum. The beloved #86 tram (our 'tramily') and #12 are just at the end of the road giving easy access to other parts of this wonderfully liveable city. The house has all the mod cons mixed in with vintage collectables. And rare in Melbourne in that it is very light and bright. Guests are welcome to help themselves to the dining room, lounge room and balconies on Level 2, as well as the kitchen which has organic breads from our local Fatto A Mano organic bakery (where I work part-time). If you want to cook there are some basics in the cupboard above the oven, herbs in the garden to get you started and plenty of cupboard & fridge space. Breakfast - help yourself to the organic breads, spreads, juice, bonsoy & fair-trade teas and instant coffee. The kitchen lights are tucked between the linen cupboard and the kitchen wall, on the dining room side. Bins are under the kitchen sink. As I also Airbnb the top floor (level 3) you might see me, or other guests, in the kitchen or elsewhere on Level 2. But no-one comes to Melbourne to "cook and watch TV" so it's likely you might not see any of us at all (but you are welcome to cook and watch tv!). FROM THE AIRPORT - I recommend "StarBus Airport Shuttle" which brings you right into Fitzroy, operating from 5am till 7pm, 7 days for $20. Cut and paste StarBus Airport Shuttle into your search engine for more info. Or a taxi for approx $65 is the fastest. Fitzroy is a wonderful, diverse, energetic area. Needless to say, I love it here, I'm sure you will too! Cheers, Ramona. Smoking: no thanks Children: not suited sorry Visitors: please check with myself and other Airbnb guests first
One of Melbourne's smallest urban areas, Fitzroy, is a real treasure of old and new, working class and gentrification, historic preservation and modern architecture. Right next to the city with both the Fitzroy and Carlton gardens in between, it's never boring but very relaxed. If on the odd occasion it's noisy there are ear plugs in your bedside tables. Diversity, cafes, boutiques, galleries, pubs, parks, restaurants, cocktail bars, music, street art = good vibes.
  • Ramona's place is outstanding. For those who want to stay in the quirky area of Fitzroy (while still walking distance to the city), I highly recommend this place. My stay was superb. Ramona's is a second to none host too!!

    Ari2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ramonas place is even better than the pictures... And the pictures kept her in our minds for years. It's been hard to get in, but we've kept trying! The best part was sitting upstairs in the dining room in front of that extraordinary painting of (Website hidden by Airbnb) epitomises the scale and quirkiness of the house & you feel like you have an amazing sanctuary right amongst our favourite part of Melbourne. It's got it all in spades... Location, design, fun and the lovely Ramona! She was very generous and has all the hard stuff covered in Melbourne... The new tram tickets, bike helmets for the city bikes etc... We woke to the newspaper & 2 gorgeous blankets wrapped up for us to take to the Leonard Cohen concert. That about covered our needs for our stay... Try to get that kind of service in a Melbourne hotel. Thanks Ramona, you and little George rock!

    Lush2013-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • I have lived in The Little George for three days. It is very nice, clean and tidy! Ramona was nice to leave us a city map and options of many restaurants and bars and places for fun close by!she also gave us her myki cards for transportation. Romona is the best host I have ever seen. I will definitely choose to live here when I travel to Melbourne the next time.

    xuemin2016-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • During my month long stay with Ramona, she has been a fantastic host that is always positive and willing to help and accommodate your needs. Her place is wonderfully decorated, spacious with a touch of modern and vintage. She also has an amazing taste in movies and music for the times I have lazed around the house! And the daily muffins and bread she constantly shares with her guests is a must do -delicious!

    Jay2013-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay with Ramona. Can't fault. Fantastic room, home, hostess and area. I would stay again.

    Angela2014-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ramona is absolutely a great host! I can feel her warm hospitality even before my arrival. She provided me with all the information around the neighborhood and being very helpful to us. My friends and I are very impressed, and in fact we are deeply in love with her beautiful place. Her place is well-maintained and well-located around the cafes and restaurants. I would love to stay at her place again and it's highly recommended to stay with Ramona :)

    Joanne2014-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • I can not think of a better first-time AirBNB experience.

    Tem2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ramona's place is stunning!! We fell in love with her place the moment we stepped into the house! It is great located, minutes walk to the tram stop and 10 minutes by tram to the city. The house is tastefully vintage furnished, it's clean and tidy all the time! Oh and thanks for the generously stocked kitchen, breads, muesli, yummy muffins, selection of teas and more! Not to mention the bedroom we had is so cozy and comfortably warm for a winter stay! :) though throughout the stay we were busy in and out, thus didn't get to meet Ramona often but we managed to get some light chat, we find Ramona very friendly and she's really a welcoming hostess that asked us to make use of the house! :) It's definitely the perfect stay in Melbourne! Thanks for sharing your awesome place with us! :) xoxo!!

Welcome to Skye Cottage - your home away from home. My place is close to both Greville and Chapel Streets, the St Kilda Road Arts precinct, Prahran train station and tram stop and within easy access to the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park. You’ll love my place because of the ambience, the outdoors space, the neighbourhood, and the comfy Japanese Queen sized bed. Skye is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
The house is very accessible to a wide variety of entertainment options that should appeal to young and older people: Supermarket- 5 min walk Iconic Astor Cinema- 15 minute walk Prahran Market (Tue/Thur /Fri/Sat/Sun) - 12 minute walk Hotels - (Prahran/College Lawn) - Staggering distance Restaurants Bars Shopping Como/Jam Factory Cinemas
It is a very cosmopolitan area, that has undergone quite a transformation in the past 15 years. There is a wide variety of architectural styles but it still remains a Victoria Village. The neighbourhood is well serviced by parks, public transport, shops, doctors. i fact fact you name it and I am sure it is close by.
  • Ian had been an accommodating host through my stay. It indeed felt like a home away from home. He offered MYKI (the transport card), lots of tourist pamphlets and information for us. His place is true to pictures & more importantly, it is extremely tidy and clean. Prahran is just two stations away from the city, and the tram is also pretty much accessible to anywhere. Lots of cafes around for breakfast too. Lovely place!

    Rosamund2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean and tidy and I had a huge bedroom. There's a large bathroom with a walk in shower, especially good for me with 2 knee replacements. The kitchen and dining area had heaps of space and I got to sit outside some days in the sun. If you ask Ian nicely he will even do your washing.

    Julia2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ian's house is neat and clean with a modern decor and a good location between the city and the beach. We had a couple of issues which we have contacted Ian with since and he has assured us will be rectified for future guests stays.

    Dawn2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ian was a great host I did not see him much as I was busy during my stay but he showed me around and had a nice clean house in a quiet location

    Daniel2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The two nights stay at Ian's place has been a truly great experience. Ian greeted me when I arrive on the day and showed me around his beautifully and newly renovated house. The house is exactly what you see on his listing photos. My room has prepared neatly with fresh linens and towels. The bed is very comfortable and I had a really good sleep. The bathroom has all amenities a person would need. We had a coffee chat at his modern living room when I got up in the morning. Ian made the conversation really easy which made me feel very comfortable as a fist time guest. There was no disturbance from him when I am in my room when I needed my privacy. You can not ask a more better house location where it is so close to the Prahran market and a short walk to the hustle and bustle of trendy South Yarra. In a word, I would highly recommend Ian's place for a great Melbourne experience!

  • Nice place close to public transportation.

    Yu2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • 'Skye Cottage' feels like an upscale B&B with all the comforts and amenities of home. Lovely fresh linens, comfy bed, spotless home with very appealing decor. Ian has thought of everything! The location is (Website hidden by Airbnb) close to everything but very peaceful and lovely tree-lined street. I can't find fault anywhere. One of the best presented airbnb's I've ever stayed in.

    Gwenda2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Ian for having me and my girlfriend here for 2 nights, the location is convenient, the house is warm and stylish, and we can't be more appreaciated for the hospitality you have given us for our first ever AirBnB experience. We would love to recommend Ian's Skye Cottage as the holiday and business destination during the travel in the beautiful city of Melbourne.

Beautiful 2 bedroom flat in Prahran/Armadale. Our lovely suburb is both near and far enough from the world's most liveable city. It's accessible to everything you may need while also being in a quiet, peaceful suburb.
Our two bedroom apartment is on a block of only two. We live with our gorgeous dogs, Poppy and Harriet. The upstairs apartment is occupied by Courtney's Mother and her AirBNB guests. We have a great yard, an abundance of on street parking, and an outdoor clothes line. We have a washing machine and provide washing powder too. We do have a dryer but prefer only to use it if absolutely necessary. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped with everything you may need. We have a bookshelf stocked with various types of books including some travel guides and novels (though they're mainly cook books and food guides ;) There's also board games. If we don't have something you want to watch, you can certainly download it on WIFI (which is included) or use the Chromecast to stream your entertainment to the TV in the bedroom. Your bedroom has a really comfy quality bed, fresh linen, desk, fan/heater, lamp, towels, a mini fridge, some hanging space, and an extra blanket for those chilly nights! When the temperature is extreme, we can provide an air conditioner if needed. Fortunately we have an old house which tends to stay quite cool on hot days. We can provide all sorts of information in addition to the guidebook as well as Myki cards for the public transport system. If we don't know something we'll do our best to find out for you.
Our neighbourhood is a leafy suburb just outside the CBD. We have access to public transport (3 different routes). We're in the more peaceful side of Prahran so you will need to use public transport to get around, but our neighbourhood is safe, lovely, and quiet at night.
  • Courtney was very welcoming and made us welcome; we were out a lot so we didn't see her a lot as she had shift work

    Lou2014-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Courtney and John (and Poppy) were great hosts. Very welcoming and relaxed about having me in their home. Great location. Wonderful house and garden. Definatly a home away from home.

    Pernille2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Courtney's place for its convenient location. It was perfect for my daughter and me. Clean and tidy, comfy bed and the added bonus of two gorgeous dogs to greet you :) AJ and Gaby

  • We spent a very good time in Courtney’s place. The location is lovely and quiet. Courtney & John are really nice and give uns good advice to visit the city

    Aurore2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • It was a last minute planned trip to Melbourne. And it was amazing to get a quick response from Courtney regarding the availability. The place itself was really comfortable and cozy. Courtney ensured that we had everything we needed to make us feel welcomed. I couldn't have expected (or delivered myself) a more thorough reception. The place was very close to the city center. We had a car and took us barely 10 mins to reach the CBD. Parking wasn't an issue at all, we parked in her garage, but there was plenty of parking on the street as well. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend booking a stay with Courtney!

    Manish2014-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Courtney's house was really nice and cozy. The location was convenience too so that I could easily go to the city by tram and train.

    Erica2015-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had a relaxing stay at Courtney and John's place. Very cozy and comfortable room with a very nice backyard in a central location in Melbourne. The two puppies were adorable. Highly recommend for all traveler who wants to relax and live like the local.

Lovely garden studio in the heart of Fitzroy. Private and quiet, this room is located in the garden and is separate from the main house. You are welcome into the living area of the main house at all times. You need to walk through the living area to access your private bathroom. The studio can be made up with two single beds or with a joined up king size bed (very comfy!). It has a kettle for making a cup of tea ( coffee and milk in the kitchen), a heater, chest of drawers and some clothes hooks.
Fitzroy is just beautiful! Oldest suburb in Melbourne! Brunswick street, Smith street, Gertrude Street - all just a few minutes walk. Great access to public transport, 20 minute walk to CBD.
  • Lovely tucked-away studio with a separate entrance. Great location, lovely host, highly recommend.

  • Marion's house is great, tidy, great bed and all you need - very handy to trams into city. It was more than a welcome, I really did feel like I was staying at home. Thanks very much.

  • Great neighborhood, lovely host and quaint little granny flat. Very close to transport, a good location overall. Would recommend for travelers!

    Wen2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marion's Garden studio is cosy and welcoming with access through the back of the house to your own private bathroom, which was great. Location is fantastic with so many local places to eat and drink and only a 25 minute walk to the city's edge. Trams are just a few minutes away which will take you just about every where. We would recommend staying here if you want to be close to the city and all it has to offer whilst being away from the hustle and bustle. Marion is a lovely host.

Comfortable Federation home with garden outlook close to Albert Park Lake & St Kilda Beach, walking distance to Acland St, Fitzroy St, Carlisle St and Chapel St. Transport to the City of Melbourne, MCG & Docklands Stadium, Federation Square, Rod Laver Arena, Victoria & Sth Melbourne Markets; my home is located near all the St Kilda and CBD attractions. The St Kilda Skybus will drop you off in Barkly St which is nearby. Surprisingly quiet yet close enough to feel the beat; parking also available.
    A superb garden outlook!
Across the road is a park complete with barbecue facilities and playground for children.
  • The house is good located neat the tram stop in the quiet street not so far from the city center. The house is cosy, the room is nice and clean with a king size bed in it. There is everything you need in the house. Cristina is a great host. She answers my questions very fast before arriving and made the staying at her really wonderful. She is awesome and kind person. I highly recommend Cristina!

    Marina2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Cristina's place for 4 nights during the Grand Prix weekend. She is a very lovely and helpful person and was always able to give some tips where to go. The place itself is really lovely and made us feel comfi. Also her dog Coco is a real cuty! Location is great for public Transport and easy to get around. Only let down was that the flat seemed to be a bit too crowded over that GP weekend and cleanliness in the Bathroom could have been better. If less people would stay I think its perfect to stay here when in Melbourne.

  • Cristina is friendly and sensible. I enjoyed sharing experience with her and I got to know more about the Australian culture from her. She even offered me to stay over at her living room for another night for free. Her house was very comfortable and artistic, you will love it. Although it takes about 10mins to walk to the tram station, I still find it acceptable and did not have problem to get to the airport early in the morning. Overall, St Kilda is a lovely neighbourhood, you will be able to find good coffee and bookstores around.

Sip your morning coffee on the porch behind the white picket fence that frames this quaint miner's cottage. Inside, the vaulted ceiling and skylight lend airiness, while eclectic furnishings and colourful artwork add a cosmopolitan flair.
Victorian era worker’s cottage in a quiet one-way street with a friendly village atmosphere. Close to public transport, Acland and Fitzroy streets.

  • Dougal & Jan’s place was perfect for our stay. It was easy to check-in and check-out and not far from the tram, only 10-15 mins to get to central, and well setup. We recommend this place.

    Nathawan2017-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Dougal and Jan's place. It is a beautiful place with a modern and well supplied kitchen (appliances, dishes, cookware and coffee, tea, oils). The beds are fabulously comfortable and the beautiful bathroom with amazing shower and jacuzzi tub were perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring Melbourne. The heat worked well too (we were here in winter so it was a bit chilly at night). There is a washing machine , though no dryer but a large drying rack provided (we had to plan according because in the cool wet winter clothes didn't dry that quickly). It was very easy to communicate with Jan and even though he was out of town and Dougal was busy (sorry we didn't get to meet them), everything in terms of getting key and information (Jan was very responsive) went very smoothly. The neighborhood is fun with two supermarkets nearby and lots of places to eat, cafes, etc. and an easy walk to the beachfront and pier of St. Kilda. A few blocks walk to the trams right into town made it especially convenient as we did not have a car. Overall a comfortable and lovely stay..would stay again if we ever make it back to Melbourne!

  • We had a great experience at Dougal & Jan's cottage. The house is well equipped, has good appliances, and is very cosy and comfortable. The hosts are very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we were fine. Parking on the street is easy with their parking permit and considering its in the heart of St Kilda we found it to be an extremely quiet neighbourhood.

    Clare2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Dougal and Jan have the best place! Very nice (just like the pictures or even nicer), clean, great location, comfortable with everything you may need. We couldn't ask for more. Dougal and Jan, even though they live nearby respected our privacy but at the same time made themselves available for any question or help if needed. I absolutely recommend a stay at this place!! Here are just some highlights: Really good shower with good water pressure, most comfortable beds, available car parking spots on the street with a permit for your use, bright and airy with lots of natural light coming in, heats up and cools down very quick with air conditioning in each room, very clean, great feeling in the place overall, nearby all you need including restaurants, supermarket and tram. Waiting to be back in my next visit.

  • The cottage was fantastic and just perfect for our stay. It's walking distance to almost all the great cafes, restaurants, and the beach in St Kilda, plus relatively easy access to a few tram lines into town and other parts of Melbourne. It's big enough to have plenty of room, with a great living space and two good sized bedrooms. There were two of us travelling, and each of us had our own space but enjoyed having the shared living space. The cottage is really well equipped and in great shape--much better than a few other places I've stayed in. Even better though are the hosts. Jan was very responsive, helpful, and lovely. When we first arrived, I went to iron a shirt for my next day's meetings and the iron fell out of the cupboard and shattered. Jan went out of the way to bring round a new one within an hour. He was very quick to respond to any queries during our stay. And when I went to leave and found my hire car battery had died, he very helpfully came over with jumper leads to help get me going again. A lifesaver! In summary, I can't recommend this place enough. Comfortable, pleasant, great urban neighbourhood location.

    Gabriel2016-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here. Dougal and Jan’s place is a wonderful private and quiet spot in the middle of St. Kilda. So close and easy to get to public transport and everything you could want to see in Melbourne. Such a close walk to the beach and wonderful restaurants and cafes. Jan went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. You should book here!

    Tracy2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic... well located and decorated. It definitely felt more like a well dressed home than most clinical Airbnb rentals. The bathroom is huge too. Jan's communication was great and everything was well organised for our arrival.

    Ashley2016-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a cracking cottage. Ideal location and it is exactly as advertised. Exceptionally clean, large rooms, wonderful living area, huge bathroom and spa and easy care courtyard at the back. Ideal location also; walking distance to everything St Kilda has to offer and transport to city. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage stay to anyone.

  • We had a wonderful long weekend in the house while attending the St Kilda Film Festival. The house is in a perfect location - close to both Acland St and the Fitzroy St shops, cafes and restaurants. Also very close to St Kilda Beach too. But the house is on a very quiet street so there was no noise at night. The house was very clean, modern and comfortable. And the sour dough loaf much appreciated as well as the basics to make a cup of tea. We didn't use the kitchen much though because we were out a lot, but it seemed to be well set up. The outdoor area was perfect for a late afternoon drink as the weather was great. A wonderful weekend in St Kilda.

  • Home away from home but close to everything, thank you Evelyn for all the extra welcome touches.

    Ruth2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Evelyn's home was the perfect place while staying in St. Kilda on a business trip. Her house is spacious with everything you need. It is a beautiful home and I would highly recommend it.

    Lizanne2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home away from home in a very handy location in St Kilda, close to Luna Park and the beach.

    Jessica2017-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Evelyn was easy and pleasant. She was very flexible with our check in and check out times which is much appreciated when travelling with two young children! (We we’re travelling with a 7-month old and a 3 year old). toys and puzzles provided for the kids kept my children entertained for hours everyday. She left us a fresh loaf of sourdough from the local bakery (Woodfrog Bakery) and some milk and butter in the fridge. Thank you! That saved us from having to worry about breakfast the next morning. Evelyn’s house is within walking distances to trams, cafes (Dr Jekyll is the closest to hers and a great place for a nice cuppa to start the day!), restaurants, Luna Park, Woolworths (supermarket) but yet located in a quiet neighbourhood. The room(s) can get a bit tight if you need to place a travel cot in it. Nonetheless the house was clean and towels and toiletries (shampoo, conditioner & body wash) provided were of good quality.

    Jeanette2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely home for a weekend getaway with our baby. Beautiful bread and provisions on arrival, plus baby items that were very helpful. The house is in the perfect location to explore St Kilda and the surrounding areas. Highly recommended! Thank you!

    Kelly2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Evelyn was a wonderful host and her home was perfectly suited to our little family. In particular, we were very grateful for the extra touches that made our stay so special - freshly baked bread provided on our arrival, a selection of coffees sufficient for our stay and even a basket of toys appreciate for our 2 year old. For those looking to stay in a modern, clean, we'll equipped home in a vibrant area close to all amenities, we highly recommend Evelyn's home!

  • Mac & Nicole were great hosts. To make it easier for us to be able to maximise our first day in Melbourne they let us drop our luggage off a few hours prior to their advertised check in time with someone coming home specifically to give us some keys. There place is in a fantastic location and the city is an easy 20 min stroll or the tram is very close by also. We were out exploring the city for nearly our whole stay so did not really get chat or spend any time with Nicole and Mac however they did make it an easy experience for us.

    Duane2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mac and Nicole's place is exactly what I expected in Melbourne. I stayed very comfortable in my own place and the neighboorhood is awesome! I recommend to single or couple travelers, and hope to stay again :)

    Celine2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mac and Nicole are great hosts. The hood around them is very cool. Many small shops and to much options for breakfast, lunch and dinner places. Many small and cool restaurant, Cafés and Bars to hang out. Good connection with the Tram to downtown.

    Tessa2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mac and Nicole are fantastic, friendly hosts, and their home is a wonderful place to stay during a visit to Melbourne. Close to plenty of great cafes, bars and restaurants, and not too far from the CBD. The room itself was also quite comfy, with great common space as well. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Mac and Nicole were wonderful hosts. They were friendly, accommodating, clean and respectful. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home when we needed it most! Highly recommend.

  • It was lovely meeting Mac and Nicole. The room was nice and clean. The house is close to several trams so it is really easy to get around and there are many restaurants close by.

    Issa2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mac and Nicole were both very friendly and made me feel very welcome during my stay. They were communicative up to and during my stay. The house itself is lovely, and the neighbourhood is well connected to the city with endless places to grab a coffee, drinks, or dinner.

    Sarah2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in Mac & Nicole's place was fantastic. They were very warm and welcoming and not to forget Sam (the other housemate) as well. All them were very friendly and helpful. The place was cozy and it's very convenient, just 5 mins walk to the nearest tram station. I would definitely recommend this place if you are planning to stay in Melbourne, furthermore the place is in a very strategic location where there's lots of happening places around (cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery shops...etc).

Your hosts are James and Serena. We have created this relaxing arty space on the boundary of Fitzroy and Collingwood, a stimulating and happening inner urban spot. The house is a great launchpad for a Melbourne or Victorian holiday. This house has been listed on airbnb for several years with an agent with 4.5 star rating and we are now hosting it ourselves. We love meeting the broad diversity of people who stay at the house.
There are 2 living areas, modern bathroom, contemporary kitchen and courtyard with wall garden including many herbs. There is art on the walls, in the garden and books in the bookshelves. Sleeping areas include a large upstairs bedroom above the kitchen/living area and overlooking the garden in addition to 2 single sofa beds (suitable for adults or children) which can be made into a separate bedroom by closing a folding partition. There is an additional charge for more than 2 guests. The kitchen is well stocked if you wish to cook and often we'll drop off vegetables from our garden. Longer stays include a weekly visit by the owner for garden maintenance.
The Neighbourhood The suburbs of Collingwood and Fitzroy have a vibrant and carefree buzz with a broad mix of people, entertainment, food, shopping and culture. A short walk down Brunswick, Gertrude or Smith Streets will take you to a fascinating collection of young designer and retro clothes shops, bookstores, cafes and restaurants or you can soak in some culture by visiting one of the many galleries.
  • Serena andJames’s place was great. A really nice house in a perfect position. Communication was easy and efficient. Would definitely recommend.

  • Hi Serena & James, Thank you for a wonderful stay at your house in Collingwood. We loved it. Great location, quiet, but close to the hussle and bussle of Smith Street, clean, comfy and enjoyable. We loved the retro chic decor, the artwork, amazing use of space and especially the rear opening facade for indoor/outdoor living and picking herbs from the vertical garden. Communication was easy and personable. Highly recommend this listing to other visitors. Looking forward to the next time we stay... warm regards Ester & Rene

    Ester2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at James and Serena's property. They are great hosts and we love the location and the stylish, distinct design of the house. Perfect if you want an authentic Melbourne experience and a great place to set up base for a longer stay too. Highly recommended.

  • Great place, and lovely owners!

  • I was lucky enough to spend a month in James and Serena’s pad in Collingwood. Such a unique little house, cozy and filled with thoughtful details. An unbeatable location right in the heart of Collingwood and Fitzroy, but surprisingly quiet and tranquil once you’re through the front door. Loved the light, bright open kitchen and dining area, and the bright loft bedroom. The place is even better than the photos, really clean and comfortable. Highly recommended and a beautiful start to my life in Melbourne. A couple of tiny issues while I was staying (wifi and dishwasher), but these were both resolved immediately. Thanks James and Serena for a wonderful month in your home.

  • Great place in a great location. Made our trip very easy and enjoyable

    Adam2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is lovely. The location is fantastic - it’s an easy walk to any place in Fitzroy and Collingwood while still feeling secluded and peaceful at home. Lots of natural light. Cute loft space for the bedroom. It has a distinct art studio-turned-apartment vibe in a great way. The kitchen with the patio door swung open was our favorite spot! Serena and James are very responsive. Would definitely consider booking again!

    Corwin2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • James and Serena were excellent hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort during the stay. Their home is beautiful and perfectly located. It’s steps away from endless bars, restaurants and cafes. If we return to Melbourne they would be top of the list! Highly recommended.

Prahran is well know for it's stylish shopping, cafe's, bars, restaurants & people watching. Ideally located minutes from the city centre - our home is a peaceful oasis to base yourself whilst you explore Melbourne.
  • We loved everything about Wayne's place. From location to friendliness, thoughtfulness and little courtesies. We were not expecting breakfast but he did a good one for us. From strangers to friends.

  • Wayne's airbnb is a gem. The location was perfect for me - walking distance to restaurants, shops and a great public library. Public transport to the CBD was handy, efficient and affordable with a myki card. My room was cosy, clean and comfortable. Now to the man himself....a wonderful host who is prepared to go the extra mile. I felt at home immediately. Wayne was generous with his time and I relish the stimulating conversations we had. Highly recommended.

    Christine2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant place to stay, Wayne is a fantastic and welcoming host. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness and the breakfast was yummy. Would stay again any time. Location is also great.

    Kat2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really awesome place to stay. Behind a very busy street but very quiet!! Convenient to find food or bar or anywhere you want to. The house is also well decorated ,live here feels very calm and comfortable. The host Wayne is very thoughtful and humorous. As well as two little pets are so cute!!

    Wing2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down some of the best Airbnb hosts I've have ever had! Wayne went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. I had dental surgery nearby and told Wayne my partner and I were looking for a quiet place to rest for a day before traveling home. He was so gracious and helpful--offered an ice pack from the freezer, made me a smoothie, and even had the heated mattress pad (!!!) turned on so I could get straight into a cozy bed when I arrived. Both their pets are sweet and very chill--they like pats if you're offering but will let you be if you're not. Their cat is the fluffiest fluffy ball. =) Plus the house is lovely and the bed is very comfortable. The room has a rubbish bin that looks like a giant takeaway coffee cup and I cannot get over how adorable it is. Definitely recommended and I'll certainly be asking to stay again next time I am in town!

    Tobi2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb and it was awesome. It felt like home - friendly , comfortable, easy and the fur babies added to my stay. They were delightful. Wayne was the perfect host.

  • The accomodation was perfect for my short stay in Melbourne. Thanks Wayne for the nice talks and the yummy breakfast.

Experience the perfect blend of history and modernity in this renovated Edwardian cottage. Discover a welcoming retreat with a mid-century modern aesthetic, bright living areas, original lead pane stained-glass windows, and a private outdoor dining space. Note: the 3rd bedroom is petite and is accessed via the patio only (i.e. no internal access). Therefore, it may not be suitable for young children who need to be close to their carer(s).
Edwardian cottage with original baltic pine floorboards, lots of brass knobs and knockers, and lead-light windows featured in the living area. • We had a lovely time in this little cottage. It was in a great spot, walking distance to prahran and just what we needed. It was warm and cosy and the boys handled all our question promptly. Great place to stay.

    Heidi2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! Victor and Dougal were so helpful from the moment we booked. They gave us clear instructions, set up a cot for our little one, offered advice and little tips during our visit. The house is so clean and beautifully furnished. The location is perfect, only a short stroll to the markets, public transport and of course Chapel Street. We will definitely stay here again!

    Anne2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very enjoyable 10 night stay at Victor and Dougal's cottage. The cottage itself is very typical of Melbourne and is in a nice residential area, yet within walking distance of Prahran Market and several supermarkets, along with a number of restaurants and bars. It is also close to the 72 tram stop, which was handy as we were using trams to get to all areas of the city - from St Kilda to Fitzroy. The cottage was very clean and, equally important for us, very quiet. It is all on one level and is deceptively spacious given it's small frontage. We slept in the middle bedroom, which I would guess is the quietest, and used the front bedroom to store our luggage and set out the ironing board! We particularly liked the powerful and spacious shower, the smart TV (when we finally mastered it!) and the fully equipped kitchen, which we used to self cater most of the time. We didn't ever meet the owners, but they were always quick to respond to e-mails during our stay. Also, the heating in all the rooms proved invaluable given the changeable weather we experienced. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay there again.

    John2016-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in Airbnb flats in several countries and Victor and Dougal's place is our favourite so far. It is well located near to public transit, groceries, the Prahan Market, and is quite handy to the CBD although definitely a residential area. The flat is very well provisioned, and everything was spotless. Communication was excellent and the hosts went above and beyond in terms of helping us. The water pressure was great, too!

    Janet And Brian2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect example of inner Melbourne living. Location and charm that sets this apart from hotels and other alternatives.

    Rob2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Victor and Dougal's lovely cottage in South Yarra was perfect for our stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, as well as being fully equipped with anything you may need for your stay. It is located in an ideal location, a 5 min walk to chapel st and a 20 min tram ride into the city. Any communication with Victor and Dougal was very prompt and informative and I would highly recommend their place to other air bnb users!

    Lauren2015-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very smooth entry to the house with everything we needed easily to hand, especially the parking permit which enabled us to park straight outside. A lovely quiet little street, just off the main road and tram line to the city centre. Prahran Market just around the corner was fabulous for breakfast and for supplies for cooking at home. The house is gorgeous, comfortable and thoughtfully decorated and equipped.. Our teenage girls loved the (Hidden by Airbnb) bedroom with its own garden courtyard, and we loved the two large and comfortable bedrooms. Overall this was a terrific choice for our weekend in the city. On a sunny day in early spring, the house was flooded with light and very welcoming.

    Susanne2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house really lovely and cosy! It's really amazing that we can stay at a place feel like staying home. We are 5 adults and a 3 years old boy visit Melbourne and this place really convenient very close distance to fresh market and famous street. Victor & Dougal really fast respond and helpful, the house is clean and new, will definitely recommend friends to stay. Love this house~!

  • This house was fantastic and in a great position - very close to the city and lots of shopping precincts if that is what you are looking for. It was quite old but the owner but very clean and tidy. The house was well equipped with everything you need for a short or even longer stay. We took our dog with us and found a fabulous dog park within walking distance of the house. There were so many dogs there that it was a real social place to go not only for the owners but the dogs as well. I would recommend the home to anyone wanting something close to the city and is clean and tidy. If you are looking for a dog friendly place, this is well worthwhile considering.

The kitchen is lovely with added touches of tea and coffee selections. The decor is beautiful, Terry has a wonderful eye for detail and I marvelled over everything! On request I will consider 2 day stays. My place is right next to the city.Trams 48&75 stop at Epworth Hospital - 6 min walk to my place. From the Airport you catch the Skybus to Southern Cross Station, & then the South Morang Train (stopping all stations) to West Richmond Station (6 min to my place). You will be surprised how quite my place is and is also very comfortable. It is a multi cultural suburb resulting in many & varied restaurants and lots of places of interest to entertain you.
Hi I'm Bella, My gorgeous cottage in Richmond has been my home for the last 18 years. It has a great 2nd bedroom to accommodate a fellow traveler. The king single bed is great for the extra length required for tall people! It's just a hop, skip & jump away from.... BRIDGE RD & VICTORIA ST RICHMOND - with its numerous cafes, bars, pubs, & restaurants, so there's no need to go far! But if you decide to, the city is a short walk away or just hop on a tram on Bridge Rd, just up the road and you're there in no time. It's only a couple of short tram rides away from the Grand Prix or you could walk through Olympic Park & The Botanic Gardens to get there. South Yarra is a short tram ride away in one direction and Collingwood & Fitzroy is close by in the other direction, but Richmond is so central you can walk to almost all the entertainment venues like the MCG, Rod Laver Arena, and even the Royal Botanic Gardens where you can see live performances all the way through the summer months. This is a great place for guests wanting the convenience of being close to everything. Situated between well known Bridge Rd and Highett St, close to Epworth Hospital, this area holds a fabulous array of cafes, restaurants, wonderful local pubs, parks and live music venues. The #48 and #75 trams are on Bridge Rd just a 6 minute walk away. ACCOMMODATION INCLUDES: Comfortable size bedroom with a king single bed Desk & Chair Plenty of Cupboard space Bedroom with separate air conditioner Outside decking with BBQ overlooking garden setting Open plan living with well-equipped kitchen Bathroom features XL shower recess & bath European laundry with washer/dryer Air conditioning in Lounge & Bedrooms and Heating throughout Towels, Shower soap Iron & Ironing board Dish Washer, Microwave, Kettle Teas/coffee Sharp 24” LCD TV ADSL2+ Wireless N300 Modem Router My place is just minutes away from: CAFES - Short Black, Vlado's, Cafe Azul, Three Bags Full, Mornin' Gorgeous.. PUBS - The Kingston Hotel (next street down) All Nations Hotel, The London Tavern Hotel, etc... BARS - Bouzy Rouge, The Mumbler, The Owl and the Pussycat, Sneak, Scarlett Lounge, Maeve Fox... RESTAURANTS - Three Bags Full, Maedaya, Fonda Mexican, Richmond Hill Cafe & Larder, Pillar of Salt.... the list goes on ... and on....and on! The house has everything you need with the kitchen living area being light, bright and spacious. Guests are welcome to help themselves to the kitchen, there's coffee (plunger), cereals on hand. Coles is just around the corner ...and great restaurant coffee is just up the road. If you want to cook there are all the essentials on hand to get you started. Your room has a super comfy king single bed, a desk and an air conditioner. It's a shared bathroom & toilet. In the bathroom there is plenty of space & privacy. I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable enough to feel at home. I expect we'll both be out and about a lot but I'm always available by text or email if you need anything FROM THE AIRPORT - I recommend "SkyBus Airport Shuttle" - door to door service from 5am till 10pm. I suggest you cut and paste the SkyBus Airport Shuttle into your search engine for more info. Or a taxi for approx $60 is the fastest. Love to hear from you if you feel my place is right for you! Cheers, Bella. Smoking: strictly outside please : (I'm still trying to give up!)
Richmond is a multi cultural suburb very close to the City. Therefore all the events occurring in Melbourne, especially at the MCG are within walking distance. It is an easy and enjoyable walk to/from the city (about 35 minutes). Melbourne is also a city full of places to go - gardens, museums, galleries, shows & of course many events. However, you cannot pass the restaurants in and eateries in Richmond! They are great - providing lots of different cuisine at all different prices. With all this activity it is wonderful to return to my place, which is a quiet spot and also very comfortable.
  • Had a really nice time here . Quiet clean and homely . Bella made me feel very welcome and was very helpful and a good person to speak to over a glass of wine . Highly recommend

  • Bella is a gracious host. She is very welcoming and warm; like staying with a family member. The bed is very comfortable and I slept well. I found the desk in the room to be useful to me as I spent time reading there. I also like the small garden area in the back. I found it to be a nice place to sit and read. I would definitely stay there again.

    Rick2016-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bella is really nice and considerate. During the two-night stay, she made me feel at home. The location of the house is quite convenient to cities and the train networks. The room is so comfortable and quiet. Highly recommend it for Melbourne explorers :).

  • The communication with hosts was prompt, helpful and informative. Any issues were promptly and efficiently addressed. The neighbourhood had a variety of restaurants and easy access to public transport. The actual location was rather noisy due to its proximity to a main road. The house itself was beatifully decorated and felt luxurious and the sunny courtyard was utilized for reading and breakfast. The listing advertised for four people, but the hosts were able to comfortably accommodate an extra person. It really felt like a home away from home.

  • A really great, central spot within walking distance of a lot of places. The space is a great size. The hosts are wonderfully responsive and helpful. We really enjoyed our time there. For those of us who are light sleepers it's worth knowing that the house is on a main road which has traffic day and night and that takes a bit of getting used to. Thanks for hosting us Ramon and Simone!

  • Absolutely ripper spot in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Melbourne, great hosts and a nice homely atmosphere. 10/10 will stay again

    Henry2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this listing. Lovely hosts, very communicative and extremely accommodating! I can easily say this is the best airbnb I've stayed in Melb. The flat looks exactly the same as in the photos and is very comfy with a gorgeous garden to relax. We felt like home immediately once we got in and could only wish we had more time in Melbourne. Thanks very much for your warm welcome!

    Alicia2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Simone and Ramon's place. Everything was exactly as described on the Airbnb page and per the reviews given to date. The traffic was constant but didn't bother us at all, the location was perfect right near the MCG and Bridge Road, and access to public transport was so easy, along with free parking for 2 cars. We travelled as a family group and with kids (ranging in age from 0-7) and it was a great base for us all to be able to enjoy Melbourne just outside the CBD but still have easy access to everything with a short walk or tram ride. A comfortable home away from home!

    Kate2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, central to everything. You know you're close when it's just a $7.50 Uber ride into the Theatre on a Friday night...! Good size apartment. Would happily recommend. The only downside was the loud traffic noise right outside your window.

A tiny light filled liveable loft nestled amongst gum trees, acclaimed as possibly Melbourne’s most subversively inventive small studio space. Just minutes to wonderful cafes in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy - no need to eat in! Nearby trams to the city.
Designed and renovated by local architects, craftsmen and builders, this unique ‘small wonder’ with vertical proportions has a ladder that accesses the upper living floor via a hatch which lifts up. This ply stairway is also the sloping, sliding door to the tiny bathroom – with a shower, toilet and hand basin. In the studio, the double bed slides away under the utilities bench - housing a bar fridge, sink, electric jug, cupboards and shelves. A craftsman’s unique clothes rail is there for your clothes and a number of power points are in the room. The octagonal room’s large windows can have the light shading cellular blinds (insulating) set to allow as much light as you like. The decking outside the studio, sheltered by a big gum tree, is an ideal spot to sit before heading out or coming ‘home’. During the day you may enjoy the sound of chookie Ruby below (no – no crowing rooster!) as well as birds in the trees. You may be greeted by my friendly dog Minnie a Foxy/Jack Russell.
In close walking distance are the expansive Edinburgh gardens, buzzing Brunswick Street, all the vibrant Fitzroy pubs, the Fitzroy swimming pool, and in moderate walking distance Smith Street Collingwood and Lygon Street Carlton and Melbourne Uni. North Fitzroy/Fitzroy is a wonderful cosmopolitan community with so many musical and cultural events woven into its everyday vibe.
  • I had a wonderful time in the North Fitzroy Tardis! First off, Lin was wonderfully responsive and gave great information about getting to the area and notes about the space. The location was amazing- walking distance to incredible shopping, food, and night life- I really felt that I got a great taste of the district. Most importantly- the actual Tardis was exactly what I was looking for! It was such a unique space with the trap door down to the shower and restroom. I felt like I was in my very grown up treehouse. Amazing experience from tip to tail- I highly suggest it!

  • Everything was great at this place. Very nice and clean, beautiful plants everywhere and a lovely little puppy too. Lin (host) was very helpful if we needed anything. Great stay.

    Luke2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The TARDIS is a very unique place. Lin has made great use of a small space to give a wonderful experience to those who stay. Being so close to the middle of town as well as all the awesome places to eat and drink in Fitzroy, it's great value.

    Liam2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lin was fantastically welcoming. From the moment we booked she kept us updated on how to access the fabulous Tardis and responded almost instantly to all our enquiries. The Tardis really is wonderful - like something out of George Clarke's amazing spaces. Exactly what I was looking for for this overnight stay. The Tardis is so cute and compact and clever - a real treasure. Lin said people describe it as a tree house for adults and she's spot-on. Great fun to stay in and thoroughly recommended.

    Charlotte2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything at the Tardis was wonderful! Great host, cute on-site pup, and very nice accomodations. Perfect for us. Thank you Lin!

    April2015-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • While it seems small at first, once you arrive it is quite spacious and everything you could want is there. Lin was a great host with fast responses. It is very private with your own entrance and is in such a perfect location for everything.

    Allison2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy but comfortable accommodation in trendy location. Short walking distance to Brunswick, Smith, Johnston & Gertrude Streets with amazing food, coffee and shopping. Lin was excellent to communicate with and, although we didn't meet in person, everything was smooth and easy. Perfect for a single or couple on a short trip.

    Tessa2014-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lin's Tardis is a wonderful place to stay when in Melbourne. It is uniquely lofty and fun to be in. It offers a very comfortable, warm bed and a fantastic hot shower. Lin provided all the essentials (sheets, towels, face washers, hairdryer) as well as a welcoming bowl of fruit, tea, coffee and milk. We did not become tired of our surroundings as one might when staying at a busy Hotel. Its ambiance makes it a very special little place to stay and it is a great location to start out from when setting off for a day out in Melbourne.

  • Lovely place to stay, close to shops and cafes etc. Thanks Kym!

    Stuart2017-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kym has a beautiful home! I visited from San Francisco for a few days to get settled into Swinburne and was stunned by the modern yet classic interior! Kym was awesome and communicating, very understanding as I was new Melbourne, and extremely flexible. She replied through text within the hour and was very friendly! I walked daily to Swinburne along Glenferrie Road and it took only 15 minutes - plus it was a beautiful Australian summer so the walk was enjoyable :) I would definitely stay here again! Thank you, Kym!

    Desiree2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kym was such an organised host and was so attentive, the home was spacious, clean, beautiful and in an excellent neighborhood. A lovely escape for a weekend getaway :)

    Claudia2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kym's place was beautiful. My bridesmaids and I stayed there the night before my wedding and got ready there the morning of and it was just great. Very clean, true to the photos and filled with the most amazing natural light. Comfortable beds as well :)

  • Kym was a great host. She kept in touch throughout the stay. We were allowed to store our bags onthe final day until our flight later in the afternoon. House was as described and a very convenient location for Melbourne City and other suburbs. Clean and modern decor plus a fully fitted kitchen.

    Dawn2016-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kym is a great host! She was so accommodating of our requests and was great at communicating! The place was cosy, warm and inviting! Highly recommend a stay here. Thanks Kym!

  • We had a wonderful stay at this house in February 2017. The location is fantastic - walking distance to heaps of cafes and a very short drive to supermarkets in Kew and Hawthorn. The house itself was perfect for our family (2 young children), with comfortable beds and an abundance of toys that Kym has kept in one of the bedrooms. It has a great kitchen/living area for entertaining and relaxing, and the facilities (dishwasher, washer/dryer) all work really well. Wifi is very good too. The house has plenty of space and is in a very nice quiet street. Most importantly Kym was an awesome host - very organised and proactive in making sure everything was ok. She really made every effort to ensure that our stay was seamless, which it was! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great house in a lovely part of Melbourne. We will definitely be back!

St Kilda is packed with interesting architecture from Victorian and Edwardian through to brutalist 1950s modernism. It's always a joy for me to walk around for hours and admire the beautiful mix of architectural styles in our streets. Our Edwardian house is ideally located 5 minutes walk from Acland Street and the beach so you get the best of both worlds; you're close to the heart of the action but far enough to ensure you feel like you're living in the real St Kilda community.
  • Fabulous location to Cafes, shops and St Kilda Beach. Very homely and well appointed with all that one needs. Quiet and very comfortable. Spacious bedrooms and good storage.

    Diane2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • A genuinely amazing stay. The cosy house is very well presented, clean and well equipped. The communication with Di was spot on and she went out of her way to help. The house is in a SUPER location in St Kilda. Thank you Di!

    Tristan2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Diana's house is truly 5 star. Located in a quite one way street, it is near everything you could possibly want when staying in St Kilda. The house is kitted out brilliantly with everything you need. Our dog Daisy loved the outside area, as did we. Diana makes you feel right at home, heating on for our arrival which was perfect given some fresh days. Rooms are very spacious, as is the whole layout of the house. Cannot recommend the house enough for your perfect stay in the heart of St Kilda in what is a very lovely home in a quite street and with a great host.

  • Great location beautiful home would stay again

    Natalie2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Di’s house is at good location, close to restaurants and amenities. House is very clean, comfortable and well stocked! The only con is the parking, have to park the car along the street, and every night we have to look for parking lot which is a hassle.

    Felicia2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Well located little gem in St Kilda. Well presented and Diana is extremely helpful.

    Nigel2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cottage for an extended period (total three weeks) and it very quickly felt like home! It was a pretty cold weather period but the cottage was wonderfully warm and cosy. A big treat was that Diana would provide milk, coffee, tea and even pasta and tomato sauce. Saved us on the first evening when checking in after the long distance flight and was wistful the next morning! Diana was a really great host, we would always come back here! Thank you :-)

  • A few things to note there is no lock on the bathroom door and no door to the bedroom so only the stairs separate you from the kitchen. Overall there was an uncomfortable atmosphere throughout our stay.

  • Christina was very easy to communicate with via Airbnb, and was very helpful whenever we needed tips on transport/directions etc. in the area. She made sure everything was set up for us in her stylish space, and we had a lovely, comfortable and private stay. Would definitely recommend.

It was a spacious loft with Foxtel which really suited my 9 year old son. The location was close to all facilities and walking distance to Acland Street. The house was clean and the area is quiet at night. I totally recommend staying at Cristina's house if you want to a nice, hassle free stay in St Kilda!!

Elwood’s leafy streets and canal paths make for a fun and safe way to check out nearby parks and sandy beaches.
Your room is very generously sized, with queen bed, 2-seater sofa, wardrobe, plenty of storage, tall mirror, kettle for tea/coffee making, and free WiFi internet access. Phil and Sarah have been truly wonderful hosts, easy going and they have been so helpful in settling into our life in Australia. Great accommodation, wonderful location, a short walk to Elwood and an easy tram right on the doorstep to the city. Highly recommended!

  • I have to give the top score to Phil and Sarah. They were always one step ahead trying to help us: about the places to visit, how to go, the best restaurants in town depending on the type of food and making us feel at home. About the house, it is a must. Everything impeccably clean. We had a toilet exclusive for our use. The room is huge and with a very comfortable decoration. Felt really cozy. I totally recommend Phil and Sarah as hosts if you want to have an alternative to a 5 stars hotel in Melbourne :) Thanks for everything, Ana & Filipe

Neighbourhood felt a bit strange in the beginning (lots of businesses everywhere, some neglected houses) but is actually really nice. Very clean, homely 2 bedroom flat in Prahran/Armadale. Prahran is a lovely leafy suburb and is both near and far enough from the world's most liveable city. It's accessible to everything you may need while also being in a quiet, peaceful suburb.
My name is Angela. My two bedroom apartment is on a block of only two, I live alone with my cat, Willow, and the spare room is used to host AirBnB guests. The downstairs apartment is occupied by my daughter (who manages this listing), her partner and their two dogs (who visit often). We have a great yard, an abundance of free street parking, an outdoor clothes line, as well as indoor racks. We have a washing machine and provide washing powder too. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped with everything you may need including decent wifi, and a TV with chromecast. Your bedroom is air conditioned in summer and heated in winter, has a desk, wardrobe and a high quality, comfortable mattress on a rustic pallet base, lamp, towels, a heater in winter and built in wardrobes and drawers. We can provide all sorts of information in addition to the guidebook. If we don't know something we'll do our best to find out for you - please just ask.
Our neighbourhood is a leafy suburb just outside the CBD. We have access to public transport (3 different routes). We're in the more peaceful side of Prahran (closer to Armadale) so you will need to use public transport to get around, but our neighbourhood is safe and quiet at night.
  • Cheap, nice place, good location and host is very helpful.

    Katya2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • When I stay at an AirBNB the two most important things for me are quiet and a feeling that my private space is respected. The host was very quiet, but also available for a nice chat which made me settled. She also made me feel like I was staying in a trustworthy environment which was very important for me. The dogs that popped in from time to time were also gorgeous. Thank you for the lovely stay. :)

  • Warm and lovely, affordable place to stay

    Vicki2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect. Courtney and her family are very welcoming and kind. The apartment is what you see, but what you can't see or feel is how warm it is. Willow, the cat, and the dogs were a pleasure. As far as distances are concerned, if you haven't lived in a big city you can't appreciate its location. The suburb is safe, beautiful and full of green. Melbourne is a huge city and it's ONLY twenty minutes from the city centre by just taking one tram, which is nothing! Moreover, the st. Kilda pier and beach is 15 minutes by tram, where little Pinguins can be seen. Major tourist attraction. Three tram stops or ten minutes on foot from the Chapel str. where all the great bars are, definitely recommendable for young people. Summing up, one should be lucky to stay at Courtney's. Price. Check Location. Check Host. Check Hospitality. Check 5/5 stars.

  • It was the perfect accommodation for a weekend in Melbourne. Very comfy, clean and not too far from the city. Sarah and Alex are really lovely people and will take care of you very well. We would definitely stay here again!

    Katharina2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • A great room in a welcoming house! The set-up is excellent: guests have the quiet front room and downstairs bathroom, while your hosts are upstairs. (There is also a washing machine, which was GREAT for my long-ish trip.) Sarah was very responsive before and during my stay; the fruit basket and breakfast items (toast/tea/coffee) were a nice touch! The location is excellent: one of North Melbourne's beautiful, quiet side-streets, with easy access to Errol St, the hospitals, Melbourne Uni, Vic market, etc. I used to live in the area, so didn't need much help with local information, but Sarah and Alex were friendly and happy to help. Highly recommended!

    Loretta2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's location was very cozy, in a peaceful area but still not far away from the centre. I was able to reach everything by walk (to the centre in about 20 minutes). You get your own bathroom (that was really comfortable) and fruits/bred for breakfast. Sarah is a lovely host. She helps you with any tips and so on if you wish, nevertheless you have your privacy. Highly recommended!

    Lydia2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Alex are the hosts you dream of. They are so unbelievably kind and caring. The room is so comfy and warm, with a wardrobe ready to go complete with hangers. A TV with wifi and Netflix (you can use your own account or theirs) the supply a cute gift basket with fruit and bread as well as a kettle with tea and coffee in your room. You have your own private bathroom just next door with supplied body wash and shampoo and conditioner and access to the laundry and of course the kitchen if needed. Both Sarah and Alex work is hospitality so you kind of pass each other like ships in the night but Sarah is one of the sweetest souls I have ever met. It's super close to public transport and walkable to the city, hospital and vic markets should you feel like it. There is also the added bonus of a ton of uber eats options due to the location should you want a night or day in (or even order a morning coffee and breakfast) Couldn't recommend this place (and Sarah and Alex) enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  • Sarah and Alex were great hosts, so warm and friendly. We had a great time chatting with them. Their home is lovely, comfortable and spacious, and just a short tram ride or 20 min walk to the city. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Sarah!

  • Micks place is the perfect location! Everything is within walking distance including the tram stop which made getting around very easy. We throroughly enjoyed our stay in St.Kilda and highly recommend it

    Charlotte2018-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mick is a great host and his flat is beautiful and only 3 minutes to walk away from the beach! The room is quite big and really clean. We really enjoyed our stay !

    Denise2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic house in a great location. We didn't spend much time actually in the house as we were busy exploring but Mick was lovely and helpful, the house has great character and is super clean. Highly recommended

    Sebastian2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a week at Mick’s place and could have stayed longer. It’s in a great location on a quiet residential street, but a short walk to the beach and lots of nice cafes and bars & restaurants. The house is lovely comfortable and larger than it looks in the pictures. Mick also gave great recommendations!

    Catherine2018-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had great times at Mick’s place. The house is so nice and well decorated. The kitchen is full equipped with everything we needed including all seasonings for any meal, all of them enjoyed in the backyard table. The location is perfect with train and buses but we really loved the biked provided. We could visit many places and beaches around by bike and we even went to CBD and it is safe and relaxing. After sharing some nice times, we enjoyed many good conversations and we can say Mick is our friend now. Thanks for our staying Mick. We hope we can go back to your place soon.

    Elcio2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Mick was the best host possible. We really enjoyed our 5 weeks stay with him and he made our first month in Melbourne the best experience. Mick is very accommodating, friendly and always ready with a good tip on where to go and what to see (or just a nice chat). He is very experienced with having airbnb guests and is very friendly and welcoming, but not intrusive in any ways. We felt very much at home staying at Micks house. The house is located in the best area of St Kilda, with easy access to shops, cafés, bars, supermarkeds, the beach, tram stations etc. The kitchen is provided with everything you need, and Mick has a lot of interesting spices and teas, and also fresh herbs in his garden. We were also provided with great bikes, which we were really exited about because it is a great way to get around in the different suburbs of Melbourne, and there is a nice cykling path along the beach promenade as well. We would definitely recommend renting this airbnb if your going to St Kilda and want to live close to the beach and in a safe, comfy house with the nicest host. We definitely had the best stay ever.

  • This is a lovely big room in a really great location to explore St Kilda and beyond. Gabrielle was a very welcoming host - available to give good advice when needed but respected our privacy too. I would not hesitate to recommend this to travellers who want a comfortable base but plan to be out and about most of the time. Thanks Gabrielle.

Her house is very clean and tidy, comfortable,Full of artistic breath.Exactly as shown in the photo. Once ensconced in the lovely room, she provided directions and recommendations for a range of eateries and restaurants within a 5min walk.
Hi there, This listing is for all of Level 3 in my large 3 level home just off the wonderful Gertrude Street, comprising double bedroom, private bathroom, wee study & balcony. (I have 2 rooms available - the other listing is 'Fabulous Fitzroy, Gorgeous Gertrude' listing #150729 on the ground floor). As I Airbnb the front room on the ground floor of the house, you might see me, or other guests, in the kitchen or elsewhere on Level 2.
  • Absolutely fantastic place in the center of all the cool stuff in Melbourne. The house and the bedroom are gorgeous. Ramona gave us a a lot of amazing tips that made us really feel like locals. Highly recommended!

  • Everything about this space is on point. Charming, cosy room. Comfortable bed. Clean, private bathroom. Brilliant location. Stylish, quirky home. Ramona is a very thoughtful host and has considered everything you might need when travelling (ample closet space, easy access to iron and hairdryer, towels replaced after 2 days). We were impressed and had a perfect stay. Highly recommend.

    Tang2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our week-long stay at Ramona's was a beautiful experience. Everything was exactly as Ramona describes it to be on airbnb. Ramona is a very thoughtful and gracious host who put in many soft touches that made us feel very welcomed, be it a jug of cool water by the bedside or sharing gifts of rare peonies ... We fell asleep each night listening to music conveniently played from the radio/ipod docking station next to the bed with bedside lights well within easy reach. It was such a delight to wake up each morning and feel truly rested in a very comfy bed with high quality bed linen and pillows, knowing that we could jump start our day with an invigorating shower with the organic shower gels and shampoos and be wrapped in the softest bathrobes and quality towels. Even the hairdryer provided was a good, powerful one. The absolutely delicious organic muffins, bread and tea were in constant supply and cooking in the well-stocked kitchen was such a pleasure! The home was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, and the bedroom on level 3 is absolutely fantastic for couples. There was also plenty of Melbourne guidebooks, maps and recommendations readily available. But the best asset of the home has got to be Ramona herself, with her very helpful (yet unobtrusive), warm and generous spirit, she truly deserves an award for being such a gracious host!

    Alfred-Cate2011-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Melbourne staying at Ramona's beautiful house. Very comfortable bed and air conditioned room, high quality furnishings (not to mention stylish!). The location is extremely convenient - great cafes and boutique shops on the door step. Ramona is a fabulous host - very helpful and welcoming. We look forward to visiting next time we're in Melbourne!

    Antoinette2012-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Little George Street is a little like staying with friends who have a lovely, welcoming house without having to worry about how you can repay them for their generosity at letting you stay with them. All the previous reviews have well described the room and the house itself, most have indicated Ramona's talent for making you feel at home. I have little to add except that Ramona should probably run master classes in how to run a bnb. My partner and I have been thinking of joining the bnb world, making our spare bedroom available. Staying at Little George Street couldn't have been a better introduction to what makes a great bnb - from the well equipped bedroom with flowers on the bedside tables, ipod dock and bathrobes to the great help-yourself breakfast goodies for breakfast (and midnight snacks - I couldn't keep away from the organic rye bread and the walnut and honey loaf!). Breakfast of course had to be followed by the short trek up the road to De Clieu on Gertrude St, home to serious coffee making and already missed.

  • Why go back? For countless reasons: fine memories, or to find out whether it is as good as the first time around, etc. But the main reason is because the first trip was too short. Therefore it must have been great. Just like this time. Yet another reason to go back.

    Dieter2012-11-15T00:00:00Z
