Ever wandered what it's like to live on a picturesque Apple Orchard or Hobby Farm? Well now is the time to find out! We will be providing you with the most unique and sort after farm stay experience. Stay in luxury and style while soaking up your own private blue mountains escarpment views. You're free to explore the Orchard and our secret lookout. Wonder through the apple trees, meet the animals or just sit and enjoy the cozy fire place with a glass of wine.
Sitting inside the tastefully restored Machinery Shed is like sitting under the stars as the ceiling is adorned with fairy lights. This stunning Machinery shed is located on the oldest remaining apple orchard on shipley plateau. Built in 1919 it has had a new lease on life. Set up for a romantic couples stay. The house faces iconic blue mountains cliffs and looks down on to the Kanimbla valley. Enjoy a bottle of champagne as you soak in the freestanding stone bathtub looking out on the the view and bush. Cuddle up by the fire under the fairy lights and enjoy the private oasis or watch the sunset by the outdoor fire pit. We now have wifi and Telstra TV. Please note we only provide enough wood to get the fire going. You will need to purchase extra if you wish to use it all night. Firewood can be purchased from the local service stations, Hardware or the Friendly Grocer in town.
We are on 25 acres so you will not see much of the neighbours. It's a quiet little area
  • Surrounded by the most stunning views of the Blue Mountains, this place is a must stay if you’re planning a trip filled with rest and relaxation with your loved one.

  • Wonderful place, amazing view, very calm and quiet. We felt far away, isolated but so close to Blackheath village.

  • Location was stunning; and the views were amazing! Very stylish place and super cosy. Lottie the Mareema is the best, and up for a scratch - we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!

  • Highly recommend, it's beautiful.

    Stefan2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is an exceptional spot - I've stayed many times in the Blue Mountains over more than twenty years and this rates top for me. The views are extraordinary, ever-changing and the area around the farm is untouched by the recent bushfires, making it an oasis of lush green. The accommodation is very well appointed and very quiet and private. Asia was an excellent host and answered our questions extremely promptly. We appreciated the farm produce and luxurious bath supplies. We enjoy cooking and there is everything you need here if you want to stay put and enjoy the beautiful location. You can experience the beauty of the mountains here without getting out of bed but do take the opportunity to walk down to the picnic spot as described in the House guide. We saw an Eastern Grey kangaroo on the way. There are also excellent tips for walks from Asia. If that is your thing, I would also recommend the Porters Pass, Centennial Glen Circuit nearby while the bush on the other side of Blackheath recovers from recent fires and while tracks there might be closed. Outstanding. Thank you Asia.

  • Just what was expected! Beautiful place and excellent hospitality!

    Kiara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect romantic getaway with picturesque scenery, including an amazing lookout point! The farm animals were great to interact with. We loved Lottie - the Maremma sheepdog, who loved pats and playing chasy!

    Katherine2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • It is completely consistent with the photos and there is no difference. The landlord communicates very accurately beforehand. The room is very large and there is a bathtub that can directly see the Blue Mountains. This is the best memory of our trip to Australia!

Blackheath has a real village atmosphere. Its so nice to go up the street and see familiar faces, say hello and have a chat! You're never far from pretty streets, beautiful parks full of special trees and plants that have been here for decades. In the Autumn many streets become tunnels of colour – its easy to see why the cameras come out! The Memorial Park, (down Govetts Leap Road turn left at Gardiner Crescent, entrance on your right at first intersection) has the most beautiful faerie walk under huge old rhododendrons – you might feel like a pixie! A sweep of grassy hills, playgrounds, duck pond and delightful bush paths too. Great place to dream, picnic, walk and play. Campbell Rhododendron Gardens at the end of Wentworth Street are a treat too. Volunteers have loved this garden since the 1970s. It's full of rhododendrons, maples, camelias, azaleas – all planted alongside the local plants and trees – totally in harmony! You can wander the many bush paths past huge termite mounds, mossy pagoda rock formations, soaring stringybarks, tiny ferns and gorgeous local ground covers. A lovely lake reflects the sky, trees and flowers! Ahh. The Grose Velley can be viewed from many places – it's so special, you feel like you're gazing deep into the planets prehistoric past. It seems so untouched. Govetts Leap is the easiest spot at the end of Govetts Leap Road. From there you look east and no matter the weather or time of day it's very special. There is a spectacular walk to (and from) Evans Lookout which gives you another unique aspect of this very special valley. Anyway, you get the picture? Its all great! And there are lovely local cafes, restaurants, browsing shops, galleries and a great hardware store!!
  • The cottage room was excellent and stocked with all the essentials required. Grace and Peter were excellent hosts and very accommodating. The room itself is nice and clean. The location is very close to Blackheath shops and not far from Katoomba. Highly recommended for couples who would like to escape the busy city life for a weekend

    Dung2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place ticks all the boxes for a city getaway or a virus retreat. Lovely little touches and really easy to access. Perfect home away from home 🏠

  • Perfect getaway spot

    Candice2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay! The studio is exactly as described, well appointed and had everything we needed. It was walking distance from plenty of places for dinner, and had a quiet place to sit outside among the trees. Grace and Peter were wonderful hosts who provided great suggestions of places to go and things to see. The breakfast supplies and bottle of wine are a generous bonus!

    Fran2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, only a few minutes walk to the local town and close to the highway so you can visit all the little towns throughout the mountains. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Grace and Peter have all the technology you could ever want, netflix, google home and a virtual reality console. I would stay there again if I was traveling the area.

    Hugh2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little studio, great location & lots of thoughtful touches. Sitting out in the garden with a glass of champagne, watching the all different parrots was lovely!!

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cozy space with uber comfy beds and bed coverings. Everything was great and although we had limited time it was nice to know we could have tried the virtual reality if we wanted - so fun! Thank you Pete for all the local tips, the lovely conversation, the home made bread and the warm and welcoming heart! We definitely will be back!!

SORRY BUT UNAVAILABLE DUE TO DESTRUCTION BY BUSHFIRES DEC 22 2019 Unique hand-built Lodge and environmental retreat on 8 private acres of Blue Mountains wilderness. The Cave is 20 metres high, wide and deep; similar size and shape to a small shell of the Opera house (with better acoustics!) 3 night min LongWeekEnds. Sunset checkout available; please call Mark after you have made your booking.
Hatter's Hideout transects a deep mountain gorge, with lush cool temperate rainforest to natural bonsai in wind swept heath; to woodland with panoramic views across Mount Wilson and Wollemi National Park, the World Heritage Area and home of the prehistoric wollemi pine. THE CAVE Set amidst towering escarpments, the Hat Cave is a huge sandstone cathedral, sculpted by nature to provide an ideal bushland retreat for modern cave dwellers (troglodytes). The natural acoustics are a musicians dream. NB Due to a minority of irresponsible guests who have ignored my requests to minimise volume, speakers are now limited to re-chargeable portable speakers ONLY...Speaker systems that require 240v power are not permitted. It has been carefully developed using minimal impact construction and facilities to ensure the environment remains as pristine as possible for future generations to enjoy. FACILITIES Camp fire with kindling and 20kg wood. Gas barbecue; ice box; tables and chairs. Solar powered lights for reading, cooking etc.; candles for intimacy. Rainwater on tap for cooking and washing up. Kitchen sink, utensils and basic cooking condiments. Composting toilet. First Aid Kit. The 25 metre high arched opening faces north west with wind and weather protection by a grove of coachwood trees and 30 metre tall carved rock columns known locally as "pagodas", a predominant feature in the primitive landscape. LODGE A spacious mountain lodge with 3 Bedrooms and Loft, hand crafted in a classic Australian style featuring artistic decor and views over the spectacular Wollangambe Wilderness and Wollemi World Heritage Area from most rooms. BOOKINGS INCLUDE An interpretive “Bush Walk & Talk” to the Cave, to introduce you to the environs, facilities and “minimal impact” philosophy of Hatters Hideout. Exclusive use of the lodge that sleeps 8 adults in 3 king bedrooms (or 1 king and 2 twin) plus a large loft with 2 "king single" beds. There are 2 lounge rooms, 2 bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, wilderness views and a 4+ star luxury rating. Private use of the Cave, which is a 10 minute / 500 metre walk. It is well equipped for a group picnic or party and can sleep 10 in natural luxury with camping gear provided, but you would need to be keen campers in the winter months... gas for the BBQ and 20kg of firewood for the campfire are provided. It is ideally designed for groups of up to 20 (some may camp in the cave!) to have exclusive use of a unique bushland property with outstanding natural facilities.
The ever changing dramatic spectacle of the sky over the wilderness still excites me after having lived here for most of 35 years.
  • Wow. What a venue! The cave was incredible.

  • Mark is an amazing host and this spot is truly magical. I can highly recommend this special place

    Lucy2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Marks hospitality and attention to detail makes this place one of the most unique experiences I've ever had. The house can sleep a lot of people and the cave is really something else. The sound in the cave is incredible and the swing in there is lots of fun. Just do it! :)

    Lance2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with an awesome cave feature! Mark took us on a little tour and gave us some interesting info of the area. Highly recommend!

    Alyssa2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much! We are all in love with the cave, and the lodge too. Mark hasn’t missed a thing and our expectations were beaten despite already being high! Everyone needs time in nature even if they don’t realise it yet. We felt so lucky to experience the mountains this way and will treasure the weekend’s memories for ever. Everything you might need is provided including local knowledge from Mark. He even picked some of us up from the station as we were arriving earlier. Thank you so much from all of us!!!

  • Mark was a fantastic host, who went above and beyond to make our stay great. Can’t recommend Mark and Hatters Hideout enough. Will be going back with family very soon 10/10

    Jane2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very special place with its own piece of the Blue Mtns escarpment in its backyard! Simply breathtaking. The Cave itself is huge and well equipped, and the house is very warm and comfortable with everything that you need. The local bird life and King Parrots that would visit daily were another highlight. Mark’s local tips and knowledge were fab. Our young family loved our time at Hatters and look forward to coming back and enjoying it with extended family. An awesome spot for groups!

    Domonique2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I wanted to spend a night in a cave for a book I’m writing and found Hatters Hideout just 2 hours from Sydney. Mark was communicative, helpful and flexible. He welcomed us and helped us carry wood and all our items down to the cave. He has worked so hard to create the most magical space to share with others. What an adventure we had spending 2 nights in the cave while the wind howled and it poured with rain. We will be back. Thank you Mark

Sit on the terrace with your bottle of complimentary bubbly and enjoy the sunset. The suite has a queen bed with beautiful linen, a claw foot bath for a deep relaxing soak, a TV to curl up in bed and watch your fav flicks (free Netflix) and a coffee machine for the morning. The studio is a short walk to great cafes in the village if breakfast out is your your preference. We have a little dog, a cat and a few chickens. None of which have access to the apartment or garden with the exception of Jemima (cat) who needs the occasional reminder that the space was not created for her! We are around most of the time and happy to chat about local must do’s or leave you in peace, your holiday your choice.
Beautiful Blackheath sits at the top of the Blue Mountains less than a 2hr drive from Sydney. Stunning vistas surprise at the end of Govett’s Leap and Evans Look Out Rds, both a short drive from the village. If gardens are your pleasure, then the Campbell Rhododendron Gardens on Bacchante St will not disappoint. Oct-Nov is recommended as the best flowering time. Blackheath has a true 4 Season climate, warm Summers, stunning Autumn colours, chilly Winters with occasional snow falls and a glorious Spring with cherry blossoms and daffodils. Foodies & gourmets are catered for too with great cafes, restaurants, bakeries and local markets. Nathanial2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Kristy's was absolutely perfect. It was exceptionally clean which was important for us, very easy to check in, stocked with everything we could have needed - washing, kitchen essentials, a very informative guide book, heaters and blankets, and a fireplace! Everything was well thought out, complete with flowers in the kitchen, and organised so it wasn't hard to quickly settle in. Each morning we woke up peacefully and well rested, and enjoyed the greenery from the decks. The place is conveniently located, close to town and many trails, lookouts and Minnehaha falls which we visited and swam in on our last day. Highly recommend staying here to get the best experience out of Katoomba and the Blue Mountains!

We spent most of our time enjoying the place, making meals in the old fashioned kitchen and enjoying the fireplace. Fiona was a fantastic host, providing all the information we needed and kept in communication. Thank you!

    Jany2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Fiona’s place during a weekend getaway. The place is clean, comfortable, cosy and well equipped (remember if you want to use the fireplace bring your own fire logs). Flawless communication with the host. We really enjoyed our weekend and will definitely go back.

  • A lovely , quaint cottage that’s perfect for a relaxing weekend enjoying the countryside. Great amenities - everything you need to be comfortable including a lovely wildfire stove to stay warm and toasty. A great location to walk and explore. We saw lots of beautiful birds on our walk ( despite the rain)

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Wattle Cottage. The cottage itself is gorgeous, very private and the views across the mountains from the garden are beautiful. It’s a real sanctuary. We also loved the nearby bushwalks and feeding the friendly resident horses. We highly recommend!

  • Adorable private cottage overlooking farmland. Great views. Beautiful property with animals. Close enough for days drips to places - we did a waterfall walk at Wentworth Falls, lunch at Katoomba, a boulder climb at Tarana and explored Mayfield Garden at Oberon in the short time we were there. Indoor and outdoor fire to come home to. Perfect weekend away.

  • Mike's place is a great spot just up the road from Lake lyell, the stars were amazing with almost no light pollution. The huge sitting room was an unexpected bonus. Finally the sheets were the softest sheets in the world you will never want to get out of bed.

Enjoy an uninterrupted sleep, fresh air, sky full of stars then be woken by birds. After coffee on my deck with gorgeous views head out to explore some of the best Mother Nature can offer. Check out 3pm. 1 large room available with queen bed, views, loads of built- in wardrobe space. I have a lot of people stay for work- yes you can cook, do your washing, get a good sleep!
The Blue Mountains is open again!! - the fire threat is over. Come and experience how resilient nature is - see the regrowth adding colour and new life-photography right now is amazing. The birds are back, walks are open, Mount Wilson is OPEN, it's back business here. Come and share my home for a true blue experience of Lithgow - I love sharing details of my bushwalking and other adventures with guests. I have a lot of local bushwalking and photographic knowledge. I have maps and brochures here for you to take and am happy to help you plan the mos relaxing or adventurous visit. My giant poodle Peanut loves people and especially having his photo taken so please ensure you feel very comfortable with a huge fluffy dog wanting you to pat him. He lives and sleeps inside. The view here is amazing - at dawn view the sun rise without lifting your head off the pillow. At night watch the stars. My home sits up high and overlooks sports fields and mountains. It's really pretty and extremely quiet. There is rear access to bush land behind where you'll find plum and apples trees growing wild - right now there are lots of chestnuts. It's a great spot for sunrise photos.
The town is full of dinky di Aussie characters, all friendly. It's a very quiet, relaxed town. There are numerous narrow little valleys to Lithgow, many of which have old relics and historic buildings and sites to discover. There is a lot of history here and amazing views all around. There are lots of cafes and beautiful parklands to enjoy a picnic .
  • You must take a selfie with peanut, he is so beautiful, and very photogenic.

We have a fully equipped laundry with a washing machine, dryer and a clothesline. There is an outdoor BBQ area and this too, is situated facing the breathtaking views to the north. Hickory Moon is one thousand one hundred and seventy five metres above sea level which means in winter we get snow. Sometimes we get falls so heavy the roads will not be trafficable and you may have to stay an extra night/s. If this does happen, we will not charge you for the extra night/s. It is not common to be ‘snowed in’ for more than a day or so. The Oberon area boasts many attractions including Jenolan Caves, Kanangra Walls, and Mayfield garden …even if you are not into gardening Mayfield is not to be missed. There are plenty of lovely tourist drives to do and villages with excellent pubs for lunch or dinner. Further afield you have Leura and Katoomba an hour to the East, Lithgow and Bathurst just 45 minutes away. Taralga to the South and Orange and Millthorpe to the West, are great to visit for a day trip. There are a variety of dining options from the café at Mayfield, the two local pubs, the RSL club, an excellent Chinese restaurant and various other local eateries in Oberon. The two supermarkets in Oberon are well equipped if you want supplies to cook your own feast at Hickory Moon.
  • This house is absolutely spectacular!! Its extremely clean and has everything you could possibly think of. We will be back for sure!! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Maxine.

  • Honestly The photos on air bnb don’t do it justice, woke up every morning in the comfiest bed you’ll ever feel in your life to the most beautiful scenery. Maxine was amazing, she and her husband were so incredibly nice and helpful! The house was sparkling clean, and had some beautiful touches that made it so unique. I can promise you now You won’t get this type of experience at a 5 star hotel My partner and I will definitely be back for our anniversary and hopefully for the snow

    Janice2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • At Hickory Moon we received courteous and prompt communication from Maxine. The design of the house and thoughtful furnishings provided for our full immersion in the uninterrupted view of the countryside. I didn’t realise how tense I was until I sat outside in the absolute quietness and listened to the silence. We spent 5 nights in this extraordinary house at its extraordinary location. Oh, and the sheep were entertaining each evening and morning. Hickory Moon provided isolation at a location that is actually close to good food, coffee and local produce... and for us the cars at Bathurst. The house is fully screened so you don’t need to worry about bugs and critters, and it is completely level, with access from the garage straight into the house via a glass walkway. I better stop writing, but Hickory Moon is sensational, and I’m not sure where else you get this experience for such good dollar value.

  • Absolutely stunning and idyllic property! Would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for an idyllic luxury property with a panoramic view.

    Christopher2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Maxine’s place was amazing to say the least. As soon as my partner and I walked through the door, our jaws dropped with the view! The pictures definitely don’t do this place justice. From the bathtub in the bedroom, the amazing views in every room and the double shower, everything was just so luxurious and relaxing! My partner and I could barely get out of the bed because we were in such a relaxed state. Maxine gave us some great recommendations to visit in the area and was quick to respond. The check in and check out was incredibly easy and she gave us simple instruction to reach the place which made it very easy to find. Want to commend Maxine for building such a gorgeous home with such thoughtful touches! Definitely want to come back during the snowy seasons.

Enjoy quiet solitude and magnificent views all within easy reach of Lithgow, Oberon, Bathurst and Jenolan Caves. Located on a horse stud this is the place to enjoy the wild birds, mist in the valleys and beautiful sunsets or maybe a picnic dinner.
Springmead offers glorious views of the Blue Mountains and glimpses of Lake Lyell. The quiet ambience is really only broken by the sound of our chickens and the wild birds with the occasional horse whinny thrown in! Kangaroos often visit the paddock in front of the house and wombats can also be seen. Many birds including wrens, parrots and cockatoos live in the garden and surrounds and the resident Kookaburra family live just below the house. A beautiful location to just simply sit back and relax or use this as your base to explore the surrounding area. A continental breakfast is included and a cooked breakfast is available at a small fee. Cheese platters and wine or beer are available for purchase and are perfect for enjoying in the courtyard garden. Dinners are also available and picnic hampers can be supplied with prior notice.
Rydal village is 5km from us and the Alexander pub does have a dining room. Rydal has a population of about 130 so is quite small. Lithgow is about 12km and has ATM's, restaurants, takeaways and supermarkets. Lake Lyell is about a 5 minute drive from us and is great for swimming, fishing, boating and picnics. We do have boat and trailer parking. Flat Rock is a fabulous picnic area on the Fish River and is about a 20 minute drive.

Bathroom is super clean with toiletries provided. 1-place is so clean and even provided us with drinking water/ range of coffee and teas. 2- range of movies/ books/ games selections to choose from whilst enjoying the backyard with Amazing sunset and sunrise 🌄 view. 3- logs out in backyard if you wanted to have a fire during winter time. 4- Chris and Kath communicated with us throughout the stay making sure we were comfortable. 5- big back yard with smoking area and grass area my partner did exercise and i did some meditation. So magical this place is a must if your looking to get away from city life for few days. Definitely will be coming back maybe for our next year anniversary again. • The location is really worth the trip. The lake and surrounding bushland creates some spectacular views and even on a small walk around the property you’ll be able to see kangaroos, wombats and a beautiful array of birds. The cottage kept the heat really effectively and it was very cosy for a couple. Everything you needed was there and it felt very comfortable and homey. I would absolutely come back again and hope to for another break from the city. We booked in the area so we could attend a wedding at Seclusions Blue Mountains over the weekend, and it ended up being really close by which was great for us.

Winburndale is an award winning vineyard overlooking the Bathurst Valley. Kangaroo and Goanna cottages each have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large kitchen, dining and lounge overlooking the vineyard. There is a pool and tennis court. The town of Bathurst is just 15 minutes away. There you will find plenty of shops and restaurants. You can drive around the famous race track. A stay at Winburndale can include a private wine tasting and vineyard tour. Kangaroos run freely in the vineyard.
Winburndale is situated on the slopes of Mount Fontana, overlooking Bathurst. Here, Carlo Guiseppe Fontana discovered gold in 1862. In 1998 Helen and Michael Burleigh bought the property and planted vines. The first vintage was in 2002. Since then the wines have won numerous trophies and medals.
  • Great spot, a little off from a main road but lovely views and nice and quiet

    Candice2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot to stay on an old historic vineyard called Winburndale. The dirt road off the main highway takes you past some scenic farms with local wildlife and bush land and leads towards the main property. The main cottages have great views overlooking Bathurst city towards Mt Panorama. The infinity pool was a great feature with great views over the vineyard. Complimentary local bottle of wine was a kind gesture. Great communication from Henry throughout the stay. Would highly recommend for a nice weekend away in Bathurst. Cheers.

Truly an amazing trip every moment. Michael truly knows how to look after his guests and taught us a lot about the area. 6/5 stars 🌟

  • My otherhalf stayed in one of Michael's cottages for two weeks whilst at an extended and demanding job nearby and thoroughly enjoyed his stay. It was like it was meant to be. Clean and well appointed, amazing location and views at the winery, lovely hospitality, and major bonus points for access to beautiful boutique wines hand crafted by Michael himself and the on site tour of old mines on the property. My otherhalf highly recommends this stay and would return again.

  • Rebecca's place is quite spacious and has a very nice kitchen which would be great if you were staying longer than our one night. It was clean and had everything you need. Rebecca is friendly and gave us good advice about finding dinner.

  • Great one-night stopover at Rebecca’s. Easy to find, oh-so-quiet with abundant birdlife at the door. Spacious private suite. Wish we could have stayed a month!

  • This was my first time using Airbnb and I was very impressed. Radha was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. The cottage was wonderful. Very clean and tidy. Lots of nice little touches from a thoughtful host. And it all smelled divine! I will definitely try to stay here again next time I'm in Lithgow. Thank you, Radha!

  • A peaceful place with a great book collection:) The kids loved the hens on the back yard. All was very lovely:)

    Jenny2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Radha's place was a good sized, homely, two-bedroom house. It was nice and quiet at night and had everything we needed for our stay (including a full kitchen). The supermarket was about 5 mins drive away. Radha thoughtfully provided dust masks as we were there during the bushfires, and also was keen to check in with us and ensure we knew how everything in the house worked and had everything we needed. The house worked well for us, and we would happily stay again.

Piccolino offers a relaxing Australian bushland escape situated in the Greater Blue Mountains wilderness. If you love and appreciate the raw beauty of the Australian landscape, relish the opportunity to unwind in natural surroundings, breathe in the clear mountain air and awaken your senses with the sounds of the trickling water of the river and the breeze through the eucalyptus forest, this is the place for you. When we say we want our guests to relax, we mean it. You will find no wi-fi, internet or mobile phone reception here. Come fully prepared to Disconnect and Recharge!
Piccolino is a self-catered, private retreat, allowing our guests to experience the seclusion and ruggedness of the Aussie bush in comfort. Our tiny house has a small footprint on the environment, designed for minimal impact on the surrounding wilderness. Piccolino comes with a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking your own meals, or feel free to use the outdoor barbecue facility provided. Alternatively, there are opportunities to sample the local dining options a short drive away. Our internal bathroom facilities follow ecologically sustainable principles, including a composting toilet, hand basin and shower (gas heated for hot showers), all utilising tank water.  We only use organic soaps, shampoos and conditioners to protect our environment. If you're using your own soap, shampoo, tooth paste, we ask that you bring biodegradable ones as well so that the greywater runoff does not pollute the environment. To maximise your comfort, we draw power generated from the grid, so you have peace of mind that you’ll stay warm and snug in those crisp temperatures outside, and cool in summer. A fire pit is provided for your enjoyment; highly recommended each afternoon when the sun blazes red against the escarpment, with a favourite beverage in hand and a platter of cheese nearby. Feel free to use any fallen branches around the property for firewood, or bring your own. It's a perfect place for Nature lovers as there's a river that runs just metres away from the tiny house. Explore the river and its pebble crossings, enjoy a picnic by the river, and keep your eyes peeled for wombat burrows and water dragons along the river bank. If you’re lucky enough, you might see some of our resident kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, goannas, lyre birds, black cockatoos, king parrots, galahs and several species of small birds. We also have some beautiful mature chestnut trees, apple trees, fig trees and grape-vines are dotted around the property.  If you're here when the fruit trees are in season, you’re welcome to collect some chestnuts, apples or figs when they’re just ripe for the picking.
If you love and appreciate the raw beauty of the Australian landscape, relish the opportunity to unwind in natural surroundings, breathe in the clear mountain air and awaken your senses with the sounds of the trickling water of the river, the native birds and the breeze through the tall gum forest, this is the place for you. Surrounded by the World Heritage listed Wollemi National Park and bordered by the Gardens of Stone National Park and the Newnes State Forest, our property offers guests endless opportunities to explore local bushwalking tracks including the famous Glow Worm Tunnel, take guided tours of the historical ruins at Newnes and the old train line, climb the famous Donkey Mountain, visit ancient Aboriginal caves and rock paintings and explore the region via the countless gazetted four wheel drive tracks in the local area. • My husband, myself and our English Pointer had 4 wonderful nights at Rosie's cottage. Rosie is always available if needed and her communication is great. Breakfast is a bonus, fantastic. We were fortunate to have Rosie cook us a dinner, wow! Don't miss it. She makes it romantic and private. Her cottage made us think we were in Southern France, so many little details to make it feel welcoming. Our dog was even made so welcome and he loved it as much as us. Rydal is 20minutes from Lithgow, it is a quaint little town. Don't forget to take a drive through Capertee Valley, stunningly beautiful. Thankyou Rosie for making us feel so welcome and we left feeling refreshed and content. Jen

Rydal is a quaint little village just beyond the Blue Mountains which was named after the English village of Rydal where the poet William Wordsworth lived for many years. For two weekends in September, Rydal hosts a daffodil festival to raise funds for local charities. The Owl Pen Cottage was built in 1832 as a kitchen for the historic Queen Victoria Inn, and was situated on the Cobb and Co route to Bathurst. The surrounding native bush provides lovely walks and bike rides. Try your hand at trout fishing or canoeing in nearby Lake Lyell and Lake Wallace, or four (4) wheeling driving in the nearby forest, alternatively take a leisurely drive to a local cafe or country pub for lunch. It is the perfect location to explore the towns of Bathurst, Orange and Mudgee (wineries, galleries etc) and only 40 minutes from the gorgeous village of Leura and the attractions of the Blue Mountains.
  • Rita was a wonderful host and the cottage is such a cosy, character filled place to stay. We loved the comfy beds, the pool and spa bath, the fireplace (lit for our arrival), well equipped kitchen, the stunning gardens and our walks around the surrounding farm / bush. We will be back!

Our old, small house is in the centre of Lithgow. It is a great place to stay for groups of up to 6 people, students, those working in Lithgow, cyclists, walkers and active people who need a base for their activities. Lithgow has lots of history, unspoilt heritage architecture, industrial relics and eccentric events like the Halloween festival, Christmas Markets and Iron Fest (the Steam Punk festival that should not be missed!)
Our decor and house is simple in style, clean and no fuss. You won't find ruffles and chintz, or chocolates under your pillow! It is more 'inner city Sydney boho' in aesthetics. We are not 'spa' or luxury people, we are old school air bnb and are opening up our holiday house for others to use. We stay here ourselves when we have free time and find it is a perfect base for sight seeing and exploring the amazing bushland that surrounds Lithgow, like Newnes and the glow worm tunnels. We plan to restore our house back to its original features but in the meantime we use the back door, until we renovate the front verandah which is unrenovated. We are across the road from the train station, but it is pretty sleepy. A few trains pass each day and you probably won't even notice them. Tucked away behind Main Street it is handy to everything. We are right in the centre of town, 5 minutes walk from the station and close to parks, cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, a pharmacy and the library. We don't even bother with a car a lot of the time as just about everything we need is in walking distance. This is our house in the centre of a country town and not a remote farmhouse experience. We don't have wifi but there are old school games like scrabble, chess and others for you to play and some books to read and a small TV is in the living room. There are nearby cafes and the supermarket is a 5 minute walk away. We do keep kitchen staples in the cupboard like porridge, cereals, spices pasta etc so please help yourself. But the stay is essentially self catering.
Our house is right in the centre of town, 5 minutes from the train station and handy for all amenities. We are a great base for exploring by car. The Jenolan Caves (50mins by car), Blue Mountains Botanic gardens (20mins), Japanese bathing house, Newnes and the glow worm tunnel, Zig Zag railway ( 10mins) the furnace park and Hassan's Walls are nearby. In the town itself, you can walk to many attractions including the Blast Furnace Park 20mins walk), Esbank House (10 mins) and the Small Arms Factory Museum (20mins.) Lake Lyell (20mins), national parks and the Blue Mountains are a short drive. It's also a perfect spot to break the drive to places further afield like Orange (90mins), Mudgee (90mins) and Bathurst (50mins). Unlike Blackheath (30mins away) and Katoomba(40mins), Lithgow has not been taken over by tourism and the pace is unrushed and peaceful. People love to stop and chat.
  • Simple and served our purpose well. Easy to access. Good communication.

    Elizabeth2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, deceiving external appearance, cosy house and great communication. Looove the electric blankets!

    Leah2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely an outstanding stay - made our trip to the Blue Mountains a very comfortable one. We came in the middle of winter but we felt so warm here thanks to the multiple heaters and electric blankets. Enough room for 7 people to sleep in. We cooked up a few meals in the kitchen which was stocked up with everything we needed and more. The only thing was that some of the cooking utensils had not been washed and there was some dirt on the rangehood. The rest of the house was very clean and cosy. It's also literally just behind the main street, very convenient location.

    Alison2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

Set overlooking Marrangaroo Creek, this beautifully restored 1880s cottage offers guests peace and tranquility with close proximity to the natural and historical treasures of the Blue Mountains, Wolgan Valley and Central West New South Wales.
The farm-stay provides opportunities to enjoy the area’s abundant wildlife including wallabies, wombats, and a vast array of native birds. Set on a working sheep and cattle farm, it provides visitors with the chance to observe and even participate in farming activities. Backing on to the state forest, there is ample bushwalking available within walking distance of the cottage. BBQ facilities are available at the cottage or guests can make use of the farm’s bush kitchen to enjoy a campfire under the stars. Fire wood is provided. Due to the historical nature of the building and its proximity to a pristine creek, the cottage utilises a low-impact, environmentally friendly chemical toilet and a hand-held shower. The kitchenette includes a microwave, pod coffee machine, tea making facilities, fridge and toaster. A delicious continental breakfast of cereal, toast, home-made yoghurt and preserves, or bacon and eggs is provided.
  • Fernbrook Cottage is the perfect spot to escape the rat race for a few days. Garry and Julie go to a lot of effort for their guests. They provided us extra fire wood for the outdoor fire, made beautiful fresh scones for morning tea, and generous and kind at every turn. The cottage itself is like stepping back in time but without having to forgo any creature comforts. Beautiful period feeling, comfy bed, claw foot bath, the works. Will definitely be telling our friends about this place!!!

  • Garry and Julie have created a really special place to stay. From their incredible hospitality, to the thoughtful touches throughout the cottage - they have thought of everything. They chatted to us about their farm and gave us tips for local walks. We visited in March 2020, not long after the fires and flooding. Garry and Julie’s upbeat, positive outlook was lovely to see. I would encourage anyone to visit their farm if you are looking for something really memorable.

I cannot recommend this air bnb highly enough, Garry went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed by Garry who thoughtfully provided us with afternoon tea to replenish after our long drive. We were provided with everything we needed to cook ourselves a delicious bacon and egg breakfast the next morning and the views were outstanding. We will certainly be visiting again and will stay for more than 1 night so we can fully enjoy everything the cottage and countryside has to offer!

Blackheath has a real village atmosphere. It's so nice to go up the street and see familiar faces, say hello and have a chat! Ahh. The Grose Valley can be viewed from many places – it's so special, you feel like you're gazing deep into the planets prehistoric past. Pete’s communication was fantastic and the check in was so easy. With a perfect location right in the heart of Blackheath I can’t wait to stay again! And if you’re lucky enough to get some homemade sourdough you might even get the recipe! Couldn’t fault one thing, will definitely we staying again!

Winburndale is an award winning vineyard overlooking the Bathurst Valley. Kangaroo and Goanna cottages each have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large kitchen, dining lounge overlooking the vineyard.
  • Michael is a great host, and nothing is a problem. the place is great for 4 adults in 2 large bedrooms. Nice and quiet retreat set amongst a country vineyard. Its so nice to stay somewhere without hearing cars, and only 15 mins to the centre of town.

    Terry2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent views of the Bathurst valley both day and night

    Neil2020-02-25T00:00:00Z

  • This is a great off-the-beaten-track location. Beautiful views over the vineyards and plains to Bathurst and Wahluu. Thousands of stars and many kangaroos. Two very comfortable bedrooms and the whole place is spacious and light. Thanks for the top notch tea and coffee. We loved our stay.

    Loraine2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Incredibe location overlooking the vineyard. Loved our tour of the old gold mines in the morning and the bottle of wine was delightful.

  • Beautiful place Quiet Perfect for a visit to Bathurst and surrounds

    Andrew2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very peaceful location with wonderful views towards Bathurst. The host is courteous and the wine is delicious!

    Richard2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin in a picturesque & quiet location. The hot water gas ran out during our stay but Mike was available immediately by phone & a new gas bottle hooked up within 5 minutes. If you’re a cold frog like me make sure you leave the heaters & electric blankets on - it can get cold overnight in Bathurst! It was a nice touch receiving a bottle of wine & block of chocolate to enjoy taking in the sunset views. We would definitely stay again.

The Potting Shed is a unique, cute and cozy get away. A creative and comfortable space to relax in front of the fire with loads of character and charm. The famous Wentworth Falls and Empress Falls are just around the corner and the World Heritage National Park also only 100 metres walk. Nestled in the garden next to main house, although not secluded in the bush somewhere, it's private and romantic. Comfy for 2 adults in the bedroom plus up to 4 (incl children) in the communal living area.
The Potting Shed has been a labour of love and is a creative and evolving space with projects planned for the future. It has three rooms. On entering you step into the living room which is a combined lounge, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped with 2 burner cook top, a mini-oven, fridge, microwave and everything else you will need if you'd like to cook. There is a double sofa bed in the living room as well as a single day bed. The bedroom has a queen size bed and both the bedroom and the living room have access to the bathroom. Seating and tables are provided in the front garden and the garden at the back of the cabin is a lovely spot to sit under the tree or in a sunny spot and relax or enjoy the heated outdoor bath.
With the World Heritage National Park right behind us and only 90 minutes from Sydney, Wentworth Falls is a great place to stay and enjoy everything the Blue Mountains has to offer. It's not as busy as Leura and Katoomba but only a few minutes away. Conservation Hut cafe is 100 metres away as well as the beginning of the glorious bush walks to Valley of the Waters and Wentworth Falls. Take your bathers with you if you want to swim under the water falls - Empress Falls is just a 20 minute walk from here and is a perfect swimming spot.
  • This was a wonderful and completely hassle free stay. Everything I needed, and some things I didn’t think I’d need, were at my fingertips. Fave part was meeting the puppies when I gathered wood for the fire. Would definitely stay again whenever in the area.

  • Absolutely fell in love with Paula's place. The cabin is so cute, peaceful, comfortable and cosy. The photos don't do it justice. The area is so quiet, and very close to many lovely walks. Take some wine and watch the stars at night and you'll have the best time. Favourite airbnb ever.

  • The Cabin is very nice. The outside section with the bath is very close to the house, but we were made feel comfortable enough to use it in the afternoons and evenings. They also have very lovely dogs that we played with through the day. The cabin has a usable kitchen and enough space for my partner and I to do work separately in. We met Paula and one of her tenants and they all seem lovely.

    Nicholas2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s place is overwhelmingly beautiful. It is the perfect place to stay for a getaway from the city. Every aspect of the lodge is ideal — the open fireplace, the deck that looks down into the valley, the fully equipped kitchen, the spacious bedrooms and the spa! Along with all of this, the Emma and the others that work on the vineyard are incredibly friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again!

    Megan2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Sunrise Lodge has the most spectacular views, it was a wonderful place to retreat with the girls. We were there during the week, so unfortunately the cellar was closed, but enjoyed some of the wines that were offered in the lodge for purchase. The spa bath was a lovely amenity that was thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed playing the games provided in the evenings in front of the fire. The heated blankets were a very nice touch as well as the heated floors in the bathrooms. Would definitely recommend!!

They didn’t want to leave! We had a small fire in the pit and ate marshmallows, as we star gazed. The cabin was super comfy too!
