This studio apartment is the perfect "home base" for an unforgettable weekend in stunning Green County Wisconsin or would be ideal for week long rentals. Why drive when you can walk to the Farmer's Market? While you're at it, enjoy a delicious meal and frosty cold beer at one of the many eatery's that make the square their home! Visit the quaint shops and be sure to make time for a tour of the Midwest's oldest brewery: The Minhas Craft Brewery!!
This property is just 2 blocks east of the square and is situated near several parks and the local swimming pool.
  • I'm a business traveller and totally enjoy staying at Lancaster's place - I feel like a local with the great location and always get alot of reports completed because of the privacy and great wifi and all the ammenities that are important to me. Always super clean and comfy! Strongly recommend staying at Lancaster's place.

You’ll love my place because I love making you feel comfortable and at home. Although I have one spare bedroom, I also have a couch, air mattresses and space. Extra toilet and laundry in the basement. Babies welcome if you have a Play N Pack. Smoking ok outside. My place is good for couples, families, solo adventurers, and business travelers. My son's dog is visiting Summer 2018. While he is a safe fellow, if you are allergic to, or fearful of, dogs, this may not be your place this summer.
A single-family 3- bdm ranch house with 1 dedicated guest room. I live alone, but am open to interns needing a longer term.
A residential neighborhood 14 blocks from the Courthouse Square. Easy access to shopping, museums, gas and grocery, restaurants, laundromat and Swiss Colony.
  • Pat was quick to respond to my inquiries. Pat's home is very comfortable and a great choice! When in the area again I'll check if Pat's available.

  • Pat's place was so good I booked an extra night!

    Oak2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the stay. Pat was a delight to work with. Room was cozy, plenty of nice touches.

    Christopher2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Pat is a very warm and friendly host. She went out of her way to see that I was comfortable and that I got the most out of the local attractions and cuisine.

    Lewis2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was very personable, warm and friendly with great info and suggestions on local events and directions! The house was nice and cool when we arrived (which was great with the hot summer weekend weather!) and she provided a great breakfast before our race. Thanks for the delightful stay and conversations!

    Veronica2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was awesome, she waited outside when we checked in late. Provided breakfast in the morning and direction of the local places. Her hospitality is truly remarkable

    Md Imran2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little spot if you’re looking for a quick night. Monroe is a cute little Swiss town with lots to do and see, and Pat is incredibly hospitable. Just be prepared for some clutter and a shared bathroom!

    Pat2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Pat was a very kind and gracious hostess. I really enjoyed chatting with her and learning about her background. She also recommended lots of cool places in Monroe and gave me a useful map for the rest of my journey when I departed. I'd recommend Pat's home as a base for anyone staying in the Monroe area.

Loft in building separate from house on 15 acre livestock farm. Full bath & fridge in building. King size bed, with twin on floor, & sofa for additional guests, but the ceiling is at 6 ft so really tall people have to duck. I raise goats, sheep, & cattle so you'll have the opportunity to commune with them while enjoying the land, spring fed creek & pond. Within driving distance of several state parks, the Mississippi, & Galena, IL. An hour to Madison, WI; 2.5 hours to Chicago.
IF YOU ARE A TRAVELLING HEALTHCARE WORKER, MESSAGE ME FOR A DISCOUNTED RATE. 10 x 32 loft room in multipurpose shop/animal housing building. Full bathroom, fridge, coffee maker, tv, and wifi. You won't smell the animals, but the rooster or goats might wake you up. Loft temp in the winter is 68-70 degrees. A space heater is available if you prefer a warmer room. If you're looking for a farm experience on the cheap, here's your place. If you prefer a more traditional motel/b&b type of housing, pass us by. Biker, pagan, LGBTQ friendly.
I live in the provinces. There's no food delivery, but there are small towns within 3 miles with the larger town containing the most amenities ten miles away.
  • If you need what this is... it's perfect! No frills, but all the necessities. Hot shower, decent water pressure, microwave, fridge, comfy bed, very peaceful and quiet except for the occasional animal sound. Very clean. The building is essentially light industrial, but it is very new construction, is heated, and is well lit. I'd choose this sort of set-up over a motel every time. The hosts are friendly and accomodating, but are very hard-working, with a lot of other things to attend to, so this would not be a great choice for guests who are fussy or needy.

    Jesse2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an unusual but interesting place to stay. The set up is adequate but not fancy at all. I am not an overly picky person but if you are allergic to dust, this is not the place for you as it is in a machine shed/barn. The dust wasn't a problem except when I got out of the shower and walked with damp feet on the floor - dirty feet! The owners have an old turn table and tons of vinyl records to play. The king sized bed is super comfortable and, except for farm animal noises, the place is very quiet. The owners gave me lots of privacy, I had the whole building to myself and it's HUGE. Would have loved to have stayed in the spring/summer and actually gotten out with the farm animals.

    Michelle2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is as described. It is a great farm and a very unique place to stay. The animals and the old records were a nice addition. Jeanne and Tom were very welcoming and accommodating.

    Michelle2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • I cant say enough how much I enjoyed staying at Goat Land! Jeanne and Tom (and dingo)were very welcoming even though we were a tad late coming in. Even though it’s getting colder outside it’s cozy and warm inside the barn with a record player stereo system and all of the great oldie records to spin! iI’ll definitely be coming back soon since it’s only two hours from milwaukee! The goats just sealed the deal 🐐♥️✨

    Jade2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne is great and her farm is very peaceful!

    Kate2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Most people won't be able to understand the simplicity, and real beauty in the place. If you want an unbelievable value, in a rolling rural area-hit the RESERVE button now. GOOD HOST(S)....people and animals.

    Justen2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne and Tom were excellent hosts, friendly and accommodating, particularly for arranging charging for my Tesla overnight in their shed on the farm. The goats were fun to watch. Pretty good restaurant just a few miles down the road.

    Philip Jay2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • If the idea of bunking above a chicken yard sounds cool, this is your place. Jeanne’s farm stay is clean and comfortable, with all the mod-cons necessary. I did a quick load of clothes, too. The goats are great, the sheep are silent, and the donkey will steal your heart. Jeanne’s a great host. But it’s not super easy to find if you don’t have a sharp Co-pilot. Look for the blue barn roof with a cow statue on top!

  • We have rented this unit multiple times and the stay has been great.

    Alicia2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • You will not find a better bargain paired with such a beautiful space! Frank and Moonyean were top notch hosts, responsive to all our questions and needs, and made our stay one of the best ever! We enjoy cooking our own meals when on the road - their fully stocked kitchen matched wonderfully with our requirements. The space is clean, spacious, and very private. While we don’t have children, the space is laid out for little tykes, and the hosts are clearly welcoming and considerate of all ages of their guests. Fully recommend this space and its gracious hosts!

  • Very responsive and helpful.

    Alicia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Frank and Moonyean’s place. It was a perfect spot for our family to spend a week between holiday events and visiting friends. Their place was very clean and modern, but what stood out most is how thoughtful it was laid out and furnished. We had everything we needed to cook meals, relax, and keep our kids busy. The beds were very comfortable! In addition to the great space, they were exceedingly helpful with open and clear communication out entire stay. You can easily call this place home during your stay!

  • Roger’s Place on Willow Lake is amazing. This bright, open and spacious home was great for my husband and myself and then our family get together. A fully equipped kitchen, dining room table that seats 10+, and a bright spacious living room that looks out over the lake. That is not to mention the family room with the ping pong table in the lower level. Roger was quick to answer all of my questions and emailed instructions regarding the house the day before we arrived. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet neighborhood home to stay in...Roger’s place will meet your needs.

An old barn/machine shed transformed into a great little rustic retreat (which we affectionately call "Westhaven")! A great secluded place to get away from the day-to-day grind. Hiking trails on the premises and possible kayaks. About 5 miles from civilization (town). Come unwind! Friendly animals WELCOME (we speak WOOF! :-) )
Come spend a night or two in a wonderfully rustic remodeled machine shed/barn.
Our place is very serene and secluded. Here's a fun little video one of our guests created while here: https://youtu.be/MT-tYoNc-vk (cut and paste this youtube address into your browser - only 1.5 minutes long)
  • This place is a wonderful retreat. The cabin is even cozier than it appears in the pictures and has everything you could need to cook. The land is beautiful with many trails, bodies of water and green space. We really enjoyed our hikes and letting our dog run free. The owners’ cats and dogs are very friendly and we enjoyed playing with them as well. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.

    Meredith2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We are tempted to vote this as 1 Star so no one would know the amazingness of Westhaven, and kenbob and Jilly. That way we could have the place whenever we wanted!! LOL. But in all seriousness, this place is is indescribable. The hosts are incredible, and you are doing a disservice to yourself if you do not book this airbnb. ❤️❤️❤️ love, Annie, Matthew, and DigR

    Annie2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family loved it at Jilly’s place even our dogs had a blast! We are definitely going back soon!

    Julie2020-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly and KB are wonderful hosts and even better people. We stopped in for just an overnight visit and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a relaxing fun time. Beautiful property for walking or hiking, and a nearby creek we were able to canoe. KB was very kind to show us where to go, make sure we had a second vehicle for canoe drop off and perhaps the best part were two amazingly friendly dogs named axel and cujo. Who kept our dog entertained and showed us the ropes. The converted barn is very quaint and has everything you could need. I can’t say enough good things about this place, we will be back!

    Lenore2020-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly was very kind and thoughtful! We enjoyed our stay.

    Carol2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to escape with the dog for a weekend. I loved it

    Caroline2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jilly and Kenbob are super friendly and helpful. The space was great and had everything we needed. It is all in one room but it is well laid out. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Coco2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is such as serene environment. There are great hikes around the 100+ acre property. The trails start literally 15 feet from the front door. The dogs and cats are some of the most friendly animals I’ve seen. There is a warm country vibe with all the decorations present. It’s a great location for a creative retreat or if you just way to get away from the city. I’ll definitely be back!

The apartment was very clean, cute decorating style, and a lovely place to stay. Amanda gave us all the details we needed for our arrival and our stay. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Monroe.

The apartment was so clean I was almost afraid to sit down, but she has an incredibly comfortable couch and the greatest movie of time in her entertainment center, Smokey and the Bandit. Superhost!

  • Amanda’s place in Monroe was fantastic! We have been coming to Monroe for day trips for a while, but never really found anywhere in the square to stay & walk to all the fun things Monroe has to do. Amanda’s place is the PERFECT location. It’s spotless & comfy & even better than the pics!! We can’t wait to visit again in the future. Great communication & easy check in & out. If you are debating.... DO IT!! You will be happy you did! 🤗

Small town pace, I built for myself as a Chicago getaway. Fun constantly changing space. When I find something cool I'll grab it for the space. So the furniture and other items of interest are always changing.
Part of a former hardware store now a one of a kind loft getaway. I converted this space for a weekend getaway for myself. I tried to be as green as possible by recycling and re purposing building materials. A big 1980s bar, 1950s Metal kitchen, 1930s Ben Hur freezer converted to an island stove plus mostly recycled door, windows, light and bath fixtures. 1500 total square feet. The main area is appx. 1000 sq ft with 12 foot ceilings. The executive suite has a queen size bed and there are the Pullman Junior suites, They are 60 and 70 sq ft sleeping alcoves. I have some old bicycles available so you can ride the trails. I am on the doorstep of SW Wisconsin adventures. A few blocks away you can get on a bike trail nework with over 200 miles of trails, the Sugar River is across the street for tubing fishing or canoe/kayaks. The Swiss town of New Glarus and its acclaimed brewery are 20 minutes away. The Driftless area has some of the best motorcycling roads in the central Midwest. Historic Mineral Point, House on the Rock, Frank Lloyd Wrights Taliesin and many other activities and attractions are an easy drive. In the winter hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails are at the door. For some culture you are 30 miles south of the wonderful college town and state captial of Madison. Small town, get away from it all. Limited cell service with some carriers. 3 bars, two diners, a pizza place open 5 to 8 a few nights, small bowling alley, a mini-mart and Dollar Store on the edge of town. Full markets in Broadhead or Monticello
Small town America, you are in the heart of downtown, but it's only 1 block long. Pizza place, ice cream shop, a diner, 3 taverns, bowling alley on a tubing place are on the block. The only Internet in town is slow just like the town.
  • Very cool space!

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Mark's place! What a fun and unique apartment in the center of a wonderful small town! The vintage decor was so cool and you can't beat being 2 doors down from the Center bar!

    Katelin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The loft style space was clean and would heat quickly. All the kitchen, bath and bed amenities were solid. I found the atmosphere homey and very relaxing. While a business professional may need a copier and other services, I found it met 95% of my professional and personal needs, which I was willing to sacrifice for the comfort, bedrooms and full kitchen. The neighbors upstairs were almost never heard and although they have a dog, it seldom barked. None of the previous reviews’ problems were found by me.

  • Great place! Private space with beautiful common areas to enjoy. Plenty of beautifully restored space to sit alone with a book and cup of coffee, if you have the time! Have a quiet get-away OR enjoy time with the other guests!

  • Wonderful stay! Penny and Greg were the perfect hosts, available if you need anything but not the least bit intrusive. The property is beautiful and well kept, and there are several great spaces to lounge aside from your room. I particularly enjoyed hanging out on the porch at night. I'd recommend staying here to anyone coming to Monroe.

  • Exceeded our expectations! We stayed in Mays Suite, what a beautiful room! The amenities were fantastic and we enjoyed sitting in the front porch! We would certainly recommend this to our friends and families. Thank you for making our first Airbnb experience a great one!

  • The mansion is beautiful and Penny was a thoughtful host. The rooms are very comfortable. I would love to come back sometime to see the refurbishments that she has planned.

    Andrew2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I found this wonderful mansion to stay at for our anniversary, as we were headed to Monroe, Wi to have a weekend's getaway to visit the Minhaus Brewery, distillery and winery. Penny was an absolutely amazing host and even offered us lawn chairs to take in the local concert on the square when we arrived. The mansion felt inviting and smelt amazing. After a long day of exploring, the front porch was a welcome sight and even offers a gas grill if you'd like to stay in and make your own which complements the little kitchen inside for use. There are multiple seating areas within the property to relax including a large den with a larger tv for your viewing. As a response to other reviews of this property stating the grounds could use some work, I would say " don't we all have constant upkeep on our own properties ". Penny and her husband have made this a beautiful place and have many more plans to enrich this great place. We can't wait to come back and see all of there progress and of course return to eat at Pancho & Lefty's, the best pulled pork we've ever had .

  • The Bungalow was a really pleasant stay. In a very nice neighborhood and near a really large park. Decor was very well done, and thoughtful. Courteous service generously offered right on que. Two comfortable beds to choose from, really nice closet space. Comfy furniture in every room. The parking up to the side of the house on the alley was perfect, my car fit there nicely. Nice tableware, utensils & appliances furnished as nice as I would have at my own house.

Historic log cabin nestled in the woods overlooking Decatur lake.
The Sugar Shack is the definition of a rustic log cabin. Built in 1907, this cabin possesses the charm that comes from building with workhorses, hand tools, and hard physical labor. To this day, it was worth every blistered hand and sore back. This property has a reputation for being a place to kick back, relax, and gather with friends and family. In the mid 1990's, this property had a major overhaul that added modern comforts. The cabin is primarily heated by an ornate cast iron wood stove. If cutting firewood is not your thing, there also the option of a gas furness. Maple cabinets line the kitchen walls and a custom live edge table doubles as a place to eat or play cards. The Sugar Shack is available for seasonal use. The property is fully furnished from cookware to canoes. Because this is a traditional log cabin sleeping quarters are in the main living space and the loft that overlooks the great room. The Sugar Shack is a place to get away from the daily rat race and bring you back to the basics with a no-frills primitive experience. Be aware that the photos are not 100% accurate, as things are always being moved around, redecorated, etc. but they are still indicative of the overall look-and-feel. What should I bring you ask? For starters, the camp basics such as flashlight or lantern. Some Deep Woods Off. Sunscreen. As for food, we suggest that you shop local. Brodhead offers a Piggly Wiggly, local shops, and liquor stores. You'll have access to a gas grill (and campfires of course). We are not a "proper" resort, so if you require an immediate response, lots of hand-holding and attention to detail, then this just might not be the best fit for you.
The Sugar Shake is located on a fully wooded lot on a Wisconsin Rustic Road.
  • Cute, clean cabin with plenty of room. The decks off the cabin & on the pier are wonderful places to hang out & the screened-in porch is amazing! The host was extremely responsive to questions asked. No mosquitoes at all in October & the wood stove rocked, keeping the cabin toasty all weekend. Host provided more than enough firewood for the chilly (under 30 degrees at night) weekend. So happy that this was a pet-friendly offering - our dogs had the best time ever. (No fault of the host, but if you bring a dog watch for old broken bottles in the woods). We enjoyed our visit & would look forward to returning.

    Julie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin! Our dogs enjoyed the lake and we enjoyed a quiet couple of days to disconnect. Jeff was very responsive.

  • We had a great time at Jeff's place. This was our third time staying and we will be back. Great location right on the water and near to New Glarus and other fun in the area.

    Tim2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location, cabin, and host were great! My wife, two boys, and I spent the weekend here and had a great time canoeing on the lake, sitting around the fire pit on the dock making s'mores, and relaxing around the cabin. The cabin was cozy, clean, and comfortable, and Jeff was both responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

    Rick2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jeff’s place with our dogs. The gas ran out while we were grilling and Jeff responded very quickly letting us know where there was more.

    Sarah2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Jeff's cabin! We took full advantage of the kayaks and canoe and we liked the fact that the lake was shallow, so we weren't as concerned about our children being out there. The location is serene and the lake is beautiful. The cabin itself was cozy and we appreciated the cards and games, we spent both of our nights (after s'mores) on the porch playing cards with the kids. The town of New Glarus is about 25 minutes away, would definitely recommend checking it out.

    Megan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z

Welcome! You are about to experience life on an active 4th-generation Brown Swiss dairy farm nestled in the rolling hills of Green County. Take as much of a hands-on approach as you would like. Feed a baby calf, milk a cow, or just enjoy the relaxing and peaceful serenity of rural Wisconsin farm life. Located less than five miles from Monroe, this home away from home is close enough to all that Monroe & the surrounding community has to offer, but still has room to stretch your legs.
This space is fully licensed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Privacy, space to relax, activities to participate in, room to run around - whatever it is you are looking for, it's here. The home has several reading nooks, plenty of space to play games or work on a puzzle, and several options for outdoor seating. Feel like having a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up and the countryside awaken? Relax on the cozy front porch. Feel like grabbing an afternoon glass of wine & local cheeses to watch the sun go down and the evening colors come alive? Take in the view alone, or spread out with a group on the spacious upper balcony - we'll even help you get the cheese. Sleeping arrangements include one master bedroom loft with one queen bed and twin trundle, and three additional bedrooms; with the couch in the common area included, figure ample sleeping room for up to 11 guests. Bathrooms include a main-level bathroom centrally located with toilet, shower/tub combo, and more than enough towels to go around, as well as a private bathroom with shower attached to the upper master bedroom loft. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen and dining room, with generous grocery and restaurant options less than a 10-minute drive into town. In fact, there are a couple restaurants that even deliver to the farm! For nights in, enjoy a large family room with streamable TV/entertainment center. Our WiFi is excellent; stream what you want to watch, or borrow a DVD from our collection. The tile floor is heated for ultimate comfort, and a functional fireplace made from field stones we picked from the farm adds the ultimate touch. We'll even make sure there is firewood ready to go. Outside there is plenty of room to run around. Go ahead, burn those calories - or stock up on them by roasting s'mores over an open fire underneath a starlit sky. Some of our nights are clear enough to see the Milky Way. If outdoor barbecuing is more your thing, there is a grill plus accessories in the garage, ready to go. We'll even make sure there is plenty of gas and firewood on hand. While you're grilling, the kids can play with the toys in the garage. If you are a larger group, no sweat - there is plenty of room for multiple cars. Come and experience for yourself this integral, yet familiar slice of our local heritage! Hope to see you soon.
The Dairy is located approximately three miles outside of Monroe in the rolling hills of Green County. We are easily accessible; the farm is situated towards the end of a quiet country road, less than two miles off Highway 11/81 . If you're looking for an authentic reprieve at the doorstep of a truly wonderful community, we can't wait to have you here! The Dairy is less than a ten-minute drive into the heart of Monroe where you will find a generous variety of unique shops, world-class restaurants, and delightful stores. Catch a live show at the Monroe Theatre Guild, and tour the countryside - there are wineries, breweries, cheese factories, and more than enough local culture to fill an extended stay.
  • This was exactly the place we were looking for. 3 families with 4 little kids in tow, and we found a wonderful host, house, and experience. It is as advertised - a working dairy farm where the cows are just outside your door. We will be back!

    Gideon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a great experience for our New Year celebration with our friends. We've been a lot of places in our 30 years of traveling together, and who knew we just needed to visit our local area for such a great stay. The house was a friendly and comfortable place for 8 "seniors" to gather in. When I choose a place for the group I usually go for one that has the best gathering space, and with the fireplace and comfortable seating this one ticked all the boxes. The unexpected delight was the birth of a new baby Brown Swiss that we were allowed to name. Her name is Melody, and say hello to her when you visit. It was a delight talking to Dan and Ashley about their vision for the farm. They are off to a terrific start.

    Kate2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was amazing. We were looking for a place for family from Minnesota and Indiana to meet for our Christmas. The original plan was Wisconsin Dells but we decided to try this place instead and we are all glad we did. Dan and Ashley are just awesome. My daughter fell in love with Zoe and Leo. We really enjoyed listening to Dan talk about the background and future vision of the farm and he was more than happy to take all the time needed to answer the many questions we had. Excellent communication from both Dan and Ashley before and during our stay. The morning of our departure, we all agreed that we need to try and make Wegmueller Farm Stay a yearly event for our families.

    Chuck2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a dream vacation! We had two families staying at the farm house and had such a wonderful time! There was plenty of space for everyone the house was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully updated. We had amazing experiences on the farm including a farm tour from Dan, feeding baby calves (one had been born our first day there and we got to name it), helping the milk the older cows, meeting the horses and donkeys and more! There is also plenty to do in the town hiking, shopping, tours and tasting of lots of beverages, cheese tours. We would recommend this airbnb to anyone going to Wisconsin or looking to get away. We decided to come back next year for sure!

    Melissa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Dan & Ashley’s place, The Dairy at the Wegmueller Farm, was spectacular. Upon arrival the view of the farm was breathtaking. We were delighted to have kind words and treats authentic to Wisconsin nicely arranged in a basket on the counter. Dan & Ashley took us on a tour of the farm. Bottle feeding the calves, milking Frankie and learning the history of the land made us feel apart of the farm. My desire to enjoy prepared food led to an awesome breakfast and dinner with instructions to go from the oven to the table. My life these days is quite busy. Thank you Dan and Ashley for allowing me to slowdown and enjoy everything your farm retreat as to offer.. ❤️

    Nekaya2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This farm is by far the best stay I've had! As a lover of animals, it was such a lovely experience seeing and interacting with the cows, dogs, and cat. My teammates and I even got to milk a cow and bottle feed the calves! Dan and Ashley are so welcoming and truly have a special place to share.

    Selah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived we knew this would be a special place. We were greeted by Zoe (one of the two dogs) and a few welcoming barks from Bruno. The home was clean and well stocked including some refrigerated items like condiments, and there was a thoughtful welcome basket with some local products for us to try and enjoy. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us and then some. Our favorite part was learning about the dairy farm. Dan and Ashley and their intern gave us a tour of the farm and took time to answer all of our questions. They are great with guests of all ages (our ages ranged from 2 to 85.) Their farm really is a labor of love and we will recommend this to friends and hope to make return visits ourselves.

    Bob2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • TL; DR: Bring everyone you know here for a weekend of relaxation, hospitality, and education that's a once-in-a-lifetime experience! To be honest, my parents are farm people; I am not--or so I thought. I reserved the Dairy at Wegmeuller after a neighbor recommended it as a gift to my country-loving parents, with the expectation that my young kids would get a kick out of farm life while I merely survived. AND I AM FOREVER CHANGED. Ashley and Dan were extremely communicative during the booking and preparation stages, and upon doing some homework, I learned that Monroe is a short drive (just over 2 hours ) from Chicago and a totally different area than our over-explored Milwaukee. In fact, it's just 25 minutes from New Glarus, home of charming Swiss stuff galore and, yes, New Glarus Brewing--maker of Spotted Cow. Upon arrival, we were blown away by the cleanliness of the house and the uber-thoughtful (and tasty) local treats our hosts left. The amount of bath products and towels bordered on insane, and the mattress in the master bedroom was the most comfortable bed I've slept in forever. But enough about the house; let's talk about the FARM. Oh. My. Dairy. Ashley and Dan are kind, savvy, brilliant business owners who walked me and my family (ages 4 to 71) through their business, allowing us to hand-milk cows, assist with calf feeding, and explaining the industry's many challenges and rewards. It was truly an honor to spend time with them on their family grounds and get to partake in the farm's activities--they even met us (again) on Labor Day to let my kids milk the cows instead of taking a rare morning off. Their commitment to quality and education is something to be commended, and I am so glad that I am my children got to witness it first-hand. Let me tell you, I will NEVER purchase dairy products the same way again, and I cannot wait to return in the near future. I am so appreciative to have met such incredible people doing such incredible work in the most gorgeous setting. Also, my kids have been afraid of dogs foverer, but Zoe and Bruno the Farm Dogs cured them forever, and now we might have to get one. Or maybe suburb cow, if that's a thing?

  • My friend and I had a fun weekend out of the city planned and there couldn’t have been a better or more comfortable place for it! They had everything we would’ve needed there, especially in the kitchen which makes up for the fact it’s a little far out of town. It also felt completely private and safe, which we appreciated. Highly recommend!

  • Sparkling clean wooded hideaway perfect for a weekend trip to the cheese country! We fully recommend!

    Mercedes2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Easy communication. The place was clean and had lots of great little touches. Would come back again.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Julie's place. Everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The welcome basket left for us with local beers and snacks was a nice touch. It rained our first night and Julie was so thoughtful as to ask whether she could bring us dry kindling, since she knew we were hoping to have a campfire. We enjoyed the secluded location, which was still only 15 minutes away from groceries and shops. There were all the utensils we needed to cook meals, though I personally would have liked a regular coffee pot instead of a Keurig, so we could have a full pot of coffee, but the Keurig pods were provided, which was convenient. The pool table, TV and games kept us entertained. Overall, I would highly recommend Julie's place to anyone. We would definitely stay here again.

    Gianna2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Easy to find and perfectly located for our travel plans. Huge open living space- kids loved the pool table! Sat outside under the porch our last morning next to the gas fire pit and watched deer grazing by the tree line. Stocked with everything you would need for a stay and has WiFi which many of our precious Air B&Bs have not had. Totally recommend!

    Heather2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Trulie Oaks was exceptionally clean and comfortable for a quick girls' getaway. Conveniently located near many popular WI attractions. Many cool amenities: Netflix, pool table, Galaga arcade game, fire pit, grill. Well stocked kitchen (appliances, spices, coffee, etc.) as well as thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket of beer, water, and snacks and bug spray for outdoor adventures! Stay here...you will have a truly great experience!

    Sadie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first visit through Airbnb and we were blown away! The home was exactly as described - plus some! We loved all the little touches like the arcade game, wine cooler, air mattresses, bag toss and firepit but our favorite touch was the welcome basket with a "Happy 1st anniversary" note in it. Our expectations were surpassed and we will definitely be back with friends &/or family!

Stay in our charming 100 year old farmhouse. In the summertime you can enjoy the organic flower and vegetable gardens, pollinator habitat, bird watching and various farm animals. In the winter snuggle up by a toasty fire with a good book and some tea. This farm is a peaceful renewing place to rest and nurture creativity. An organic farmstead breakfast is included.
This is a rural farming neighborhood. Some neighbors are Amish. It's not unusual to see horse and buggies passing by.
  • Great hosts. Great conversations. Great place. Good times. Good people. Good food. Wonderful memories. Good. Great. Wonderful. (-:

  • Amazing stay with a wonderfully hearty breakfast. Our toddler loved playing with the friendly dogs. Also Dela has some great tips on places to visit near Brodhead!

    Geena2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional breakfast: we had homemade bread, scrambled eggs with everything, fried potatoes, pie, fruit etc. There is no hotel that offers this quality. We were greeted by the three lovely dogs and the hospitable Dela and were allowed to visit the property. In addition, we also have a good night. Instead of TV good talks. Recommended!

  • More than just a place to stay... it is an experience that my kids, wife and I will never forget.

  • Warm, cozy setting with great food. Dela and Tony are friendly and accommodating. We felt very welcome. Breakfasts was outstanding.

  • Staying here was a great evening for me and the group of friends that I travelled with. Deal was able to accommodate our preferences and provided a space that provided the perfect atmosphere for our stay. We we're very lucky to have been able to stay here, some of the highlights from the trip: The dogs will make your heart melt. The cats that we stumbled upon in the farm were some of the best cats I've ever ran into, they loved the unending attention we provided. George the cat was also a great cat. As the sun was setting and the day winding down, walking around the farm was a real nice relaxing treat for a city dweller like me. Tony, Dela's husband, was a bastion of knowledge which my curious group absolutely loved to listen to. To top it all off, there was a spectacular breakfast that concluded our stay. Obviously I cannot express it all in one post but, if you are looking for a place to stay in the area, I recommend Dela and Tony's farm.

    Alvin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Dela were kind, gracious and welcoming hosts and we had a wonderful stay at their place. Although we were a larger group and it was a shared space, we felt very much at home. Tony and Dela are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about sustainable agriculture and it was fascinating to learn more about their work and lives. Having never visited this region of Wisconsin before, the farm was a treat for the senses. Dela baked us a delicious farm-to-table breakfast everyday and added many thoughtful little touches to make our stay memorable. Our visit coincided with a few classes Dela was hosting that weekend and she offered us some amazing freshly made bread and cheese. My four year old daughter and her friend enjoyed running around in the backyard, exploring the flower gardens, watching fireflies, observing newly hatched chicks and playing with the three adorable dogs at the farmhouse. If you need a quiet, rural getaway to forget your to-do list and meet some really cool, interesting people, this place will not disappoint.

    Nitya2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dela is such a gracious host. She was very welcoming and her home was very lovely. She cooked breakfast in the morning that was very delicious and offered fresh clean towels to wash up with. I will definitely be returning and hope others find this review helpful!!!

Originally built as duck hunting destination, this property is a quintessential Wisconsin cabin. Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz spent many seasons nurturing this property and enjoying all the outdoor activities the Sugar River offers. The Schwartz Cabin was very primitive before a total renovation added water, indoor plumbing, and modern cooking essentials. The cabin is lined with knotty pine walls, wood floors, and wall of windows exposing the lake. When arriving at this property, a tree tunneled gravel driveway will sneak you back to the secluded cabin nestled on a wooded lot with over eighty feet of water frontage. The Schwartz Cabin is available for seasonal use (May – September). The cabin comes furnished with everything from cookware to canoes. With two full beds, a futon, and a couch, this cabin has plenty of room for friends and family.
Completely wooded lot with over 80 feet of water frontage. There is a public golf course and railroad style bike trails across the lake. The Sugar river is great for paddle sports and bird watching.
  • Very nice secluded getaway on the lake. Rustic cabin with all the necessary amenities. Jeff provides all the essentials you’d need and even provided us with fresh firewood for the fireplace and space heaters since It was going to be a bit cool. Highly recommend if your looking for a quiet rustic getaway.

  • We had a blast. Our first time bringing our 2 boys out on a cabin adventure and this property was perfect!!! Property was located 2 hours away from our home which made the trip ever so convenient. The cabin was clean and had it had that rustic country cabin feel about it!! Exactly what we were looking for. Bonus for being pet friendly!!

  • Great place to stay. You'll definitely feel connected to nature, and there's more to do around there than you think. I loved having access to the boats to get out on the river. Jeff communicated really well and was a great host. If you're planning on people sleeping on the couch or bringing an air mattress, make sure you bring some extra linens.

  • I needed a break from city life & the little cottage was the perfect quiet retreat. As an apartment dweller, I enjoyed being a weekend “home owner”. Everything was clean & tidy with charming vintage touches. Heather was easy to communicate with & very helpful. I also enjoyed NOT having a tv, listening to cds or nothing at all. Good to disconnect, I slept like a log. And had a great time exploring near by towns, apple orchards, & pumpkin patches.

  • This cozy little cottage is a perfect place for you and a few friends!! Great place and good location!

    Meghan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Heathers was a great host with so much thoughtfulness put into every detail of our stay and so many adorable details of the cottage. I came with co-workers to tackle a boring work project, but the cottage helped three mamas feel like we got a weekend away! Thank you!!

    Michelle2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place! So great for kids. Full size kitchen and dining room made meals a snap and Heather provided baskets of toys that my little ones played with for hours. Tasteful furnishings, comfy beds, and a nice location for walking to town (go to the awesome train museum) and our favorite local trips (hiking, New Glarus, Baumgartner's, Green County farm breakfast)!

    Alison2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • "C" is for this cottage that is cozy, clean, comfortable and convenient. This tiny house is surprisingly roomy (except for the small bathroom). The quaint vintage decor invites you to relax, remember your grandma and make memories of your own. It is good value for your money to have this space all to yourself. I would definitely return.

    Kathleen2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable and awesome place. Has everything you need. Such cute touches. So relaxed and comfortable.

    Alicia2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Having never stayed anywhere other than a hotel, this was outstanding! We crashed for one night, we weren't even there for 24 hours however everything we needed was easy to find. There was a special touch, acknowledging that it was our wedding night waiting for us on the table with a book detailing check out procedures, house details and attractions nearby. We were right in town but never felt as if we didn't have privacy. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Trisha2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice stay right in the downtown of Brodhead. Easy access to the building and rooms via a keycode, which is always much nicer than a lockbox. It's like a miniature hotel, with a handful of rooms sharing the same main entrance. Despite that, they all have private bathrooms, and I never saw anyone else there. Would definitely recommend, it's definitely worth the affordable price.

    Michael2019-11-09T00:00:00Z

  • The place is really cute...clean, cozy, nicely decorated. It’s in a fun location in downtown Brodhead. The room we stayed in did not have windows (which we were aware of beforehand) but could have used a fan to keep air circulating at night. But host was great - coffee and food provided in the morning and a nice outdoor patio to lounge on.

  • This is a no frills, but great, clean, comfortable space. We felt comfortable letting our 5 year old crash on the very comfy pull out bed while we relaxed in the nearby kitchen common space after a long day of autumn hiking. Would definitely recommend this space if you are in the area. Grab some delicious beers from the New Glarus brewery nearby!

  • Great rooms that could not be in a better location.

    Michael2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't know whether this would be a hotel or an Airbnb and the best way to describe it is a little mix of both. It's like a private locked hotel room and bathroom with the independency of an Airbnb but without the owner on premises. The common kitchen and balcony/patio was nice to spread out with a larger group or just to possibly run into another guest and quickly say hi. Dianne was easy to reach and communicate with if ever needed. The town was great; everything you needed was a storefront or 2 away; breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. We went for the float trip and ran into the Covered Wagon Days which was so much fun with bands, food vendors, craft fair and car show. The room was completely affordable with even extra touches like bottled water, granola bars and coffee in the kitchen. Great place!!

    Michelle2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne’s place was very clean and very tasteful. Great old building right downtown. We walked to dinner and breakfast. Would stay again.

  • We had a wonderful stay. The room was perfect, comfortable, and very well appointed. Dianne had extra amenities like bottled water in the fridge!! How awesome when the heat wave came thru and it was sweltering out. Convenient to the town of Brodhead, this was the perfect spot for our visit to the local airshow. The room was more comfortable then many 4-5 star hotels we have stayed in. This is our 5th or 6th stay and we will look forward to staying again. Thanks Dianne!!
