Kristen has done a great job decorating the tiny home and even added sweet touches such as fresh eggs and lights outside in case you arrive late. • What a great place to spend some time getting away from it all. Beautiful views, charming cabin and welcoming, warm hosts. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend!

    Carolyn2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a homey and beautifully crafted cabin. Well stocked kitchen and access to canoes, what a deal! Wood fire to keep you warm on those cold rainy days. And the chill-ness of the hosts. Another plus! Sadly only booked two nights, but would recommend three...one day for hiking to manzanita, another for canoeing down the inlet and the last for visiting town/brewery. We will be back ;)

    Sharon2020-02-18T00:00:00Z

Both the cottage and property were beautiful in every way, Jurgen and Cindy were wonderful hosts, and it is in a great location. It was the perfect home away from home during our road trip! If the tide is high enough you may be lucky enough to jump off the whale rock; a rite of passage for all the kids in our family for decades. - Gather round our beach fire pit and watch the sun disappear into a spectacular west coast sunset.
The cottage is self contained. Guests are able to bring vehicles down driveway to top of stairs to unload luggage upon arrival and again to load luggage upon departure. The rest of your stay will require parking at top of property. *Please note this property is NOT suitable for mobility challenged guests or anyone unable to climb stairs...it is NOT wheelchair accessible . Remember that what you take down to the cottage must come back up. We recommend packing light!
  • The cottage is stunning and falling asleep to waves crashing and sea lions in the distance is a great way to unwind. ( was also eager to fall asleep to make another awesome coffee 🤤 ) very peaceful stay. Thanks Marnie

  • This cottage was exactly what I was looking for - a beautiful escape with nothing to distract but the crackling of the wood stove fire and the quiet lapping of the waves right outside the door. Marnie was an accommodating, helpful and thoughtful host. I'd definitely stay here again the next time I'm on the Sunshine Coast!

    Alexandra2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Man, what was that great? The house is right on the water. We had seen sea lions in front of our house. Then the wood stove and the great equipment in the house. It was really to our liking. Reality tops the description and the pictures on the display. Marnie is a great host.

  • At the very last minute we had to cancel our travel plans for our 10th anniversary. A landslide closed the road to Tofino and we were without a spot to celebrate. Grandparents had been recruited to take care of our little ones for the weekend, and we were desperately searching for a place to go. Everywhere was either booked or closed for the winter. We finally found this lovely little spot, Whale Rock Cottage, that looked promising, and with some excitement and hope, sent a booking inquiry. Within an hour we heard back from the host Marnie, that we were welcome to come and she would get the placed warmed up and ready with the woodstove. We jumped on the ferry and drove over. She welcomed us and got us settled in, helping with our luggage, and offering suggestions for activities during our stay. We were quickly unpacking and settling into a lovely cottage, spacious and open and bright, with perfect beach ambiance and 180 degree views of the ocean. We were right on the beach, with no neighbours and a glorious weekend ahead. A welcome basket of goodies awaited us, with a well stocked full kitchen and crackling cozy wood stove. We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed every minute of our experience in Powell River and most especially with Whale Rock Cottage. We'll go back for sure! Arianne & Jesse

  • Marnie was a wonderful host. She provided little extras in the cabin that really made it feel well cared for.

    Devon2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Whale Cottage.  The cottage is beautifully designed and decorated - Marnie thought of everything, from a fully stocked kitchen, and the wood stove crackling away when we arrived.   The cottage is literally steps from the beach, with a stunning view of the Strait from the kitchen window and spacious deck.  Thanks for everything, Marnie!

    Peter2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We scored with this cabin! Marnie was able to accommodate us for a last minute booking and we were beyond impressed with the craftsmanship of this new cabin. The craft beer and snacks offered at check in was an amazing thoughtful touch as well. The location is very private away from any other residences and right on the water. You really feel like you're getting away from it all here. Also the kitchen is well stocked with cookware and anything you need to make good meals. No need to leave this place! I have a feeling this cabin is going to be hard to get in the future, we're going to do our best to book in advance for our next stay. Thanks Marnie!

    Christopher2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Whale Rock Cottage not only met all expectations but exceeded them greatly! We honestly can’t put into words how amazing our stay was. The weather was perfect. We saw a storm one night and a great sunrise the following day. We saw whales spraying out across the inlet. A bald eagle soared through right by the deck, seals popped up and down 30 feet from us and we flipped rocks and found crabs one morning too. Had a very relaxing time outside and then came in and curled up by the wood stove fire. It was also just outside of town. Everything is a 5-10 minute drive from the location. It was honestly absolutely perfect and we will for sure be back next time we come to Powell River - which is hopefully very soon! Thanks again for everything Marnie!

Enjoy our 100-year old heritage home. We offer a lovely bedroom with private entrance accessed from a walk-out basement featuring an antique style queen size bed with new linens, lounge chair, and desk space. The attached private bath features a claw foot tub with hand shower and new linens and amenities. Our guests have access to a full kitchen and dining area on the main floor if required. Please enjoy a sunny back deck that is accessible and private.
Please note that the suite is adjacent to a VCH certified processing kitchen. As I am a firm believer in community, I now share my kitchen space with Mama Rania - who came to Canada with her family from Syria as refugees. She has now established a successful hummus making business and is using our space to process and package her product. She does not have set hours as her business is based on demand. She normally accesses the kitchen a few days a week from 5 pm till until 8:30 pm. Her daughter Noella is often on hand to help out.
Townsite is national Canadian Historic site. It is great just to explore the neighbourhood filled with beautiful heritage homes and gardens. Visit the Historical Society at Henderson House for a complete history of the original mill town of Powell River - which was the largest mill in the world in the early 20th Century.
  • Dave and Linda were wonderful! Super kind and knowledgeable about the area. I definitely recommend staying with them!

  • Linda is a great chef. Quick response, great place for travel and rest

    Paulina2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s home was much more than I expected. As soon as you walk in, the smells of amazing home-cooked food flood your senses, and you see her immaculate chefs kitchen immediately as you enter. You have your own private bath and bedroom right off of the same entrance. Beautiful bed and cozy linens, all the little touches are completely in sync with the flow of the space. The bathroom had an old claw-footed tub that was absolutely wonderful to soak in. (I had baths every night!) Linda was quiet and didn’t disturb me, or intrude on the space. We ended up chatting several times and she is a lovely woman, who made me feel right at home. I’ve never slept so well in a strange space! It was a great 4 nights for me. If I return to Powell River, I would definitely stay there again! THANK YOU LINDA ❤️

  • This is a warm and inviting basement suite. Artistically furnished and decorated, a fine eye for detail and thoughtful touches were evident. A lavender bouquet at the bed, yoga mat in the closet, 32 lakes espresso, clawfoot bathtub, well-lit basement suite with good natural light in the morning. Abundant kale garden along the path to the suite, peaceful house and neighbourhood. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

  • Linda's suite was better than advertised. The room was really nicely decorated, immaculate and totally comfortable. Check in was super easy and Linda gave us a warm welcome and a good orientation to the amenities she had on offer. I would wholeheartedly recommend this suite to other travellers.

  • Linda's place was clean and comfortable. The decorations were really cute and our host was very helpful. Thanks for the great stay! The shower was hot and had good water pressure.

  • Fabulous stay at the magical dome! Very creative, interesting and highly cozy space, with the wonderful bonus of a relaxing sauna! Roisin gave us a warm and informative welcome and we appreciated the very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that they have created for their space. A perfect place to spend a fall weekend playing board games by the fire, and a great base for exploring the beautiful northern Sunshine coast! The dome is the epitome of hygge :)

    Monica2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 4 had a lovely stay at the magical dome. The forest setting is beautiful and serene. Roisin was a thoughtful and gracious host. The dome itself had many artful features and accommodated us comfortably. The kids loved the sleeping loft, foldable foam chairs and the frog pond!

    Melissa And Ian2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Magical Dome is just that, a Magical Dome in a secluded Forrest. Looks exactly like the pictures but better. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare a tasty feast. The bathhouse and sauna were relaxing and top notch. The beds were comfortable and made for great long sleeps at the end of each daily adventure. An amazing quiet getaway for my girlfriend and I. No cell reception or WiFi at the Dome which made it easy to unconnect from city life. If needed it is available 5 minutes away in the town. We rented bikes in Powell River got to the dome and parked the car. We biked in and around the small town of Lund. Not too far from Magical Dome. We went on a kayaking trip with Terracentric Coastal Adventures.... We saw a pod of dolphins and seals. That was a highlight of the trip! We went over to Savoury Island with our bikes and toured the island. Check out the sandy white beaches at South Beach, they are unreal! Hawaii of the North Pacific. Nancy makes some killer cinnamon buns and coffe. Check out Nancy's Bakery, I ate 2.5 every day! On our last night and last bike ride back to the Magical Dome we came across a black bear!! Bears, Dolphins, Seals, Eagles, Islands and white sand beaches... Unbelievable, Almost magical. This amazing trip started and ended at the Magical Dome.

    Darnell2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • It truly is a magical place! Roisin was an amazing host and the area was beautiful.

    Wes2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Phil and Roisin were wonderful hosts! The area was beautiful, there was lots to discover, and the Dome was exactly the weekend getaway my sister and I were looking for

    Aleina2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival, you can expect to have all your basic needs provided and then some. It truly feels like going home. It doesn’t matter how much time you spend at the magical dome it will captivate you. My one night feels like time stood still to make it seem longer. Thank you Roisin & Phil. I love all that my senses were able to capture, this time.

    Sharpe2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique airbnb experience! This quirky cabin is perfect if you are looking for some time off the grid. A lovely cosy space with an interesting history that feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. We enjoyed using the sauna and visiting the bakery and restaurant in Lund.

    Sally2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING! From the moment we booked to the moment we left, Phil and Roisin were accommodating and kind. The Dome is amazing for kids, and my husband and I enjoyed the Sauna and reading books by the stove before we went to bed. I could recommend enough.

  • Brandon's Airbnb in Powell River was just perfect. It was super comfortable, well situated , and offered everything we could have needed. I didn't meet Brandon in person, but feel like I did because he was so quick to respond to any messages or questions. The value here is high because you can fit 2 couples comfortably, if need be. The kitchen is excellent and well set up. All this with a view of the ocean! Five Stars. Highly recommended.

  • Liz & Andy's island is the perfect place to chill out and spend some quality time with friends and family. Every meal they cooked for us was delicious, and they happily accommodated peoples dietary restrictions. We also really appreciated the thoughtful display of whales and sea lions that Liz & Andy arranged for us. We can't wait to make this an annual trip - words really can't do it justice!

    David2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The island is an amazing and unique experience. Andy and Liz have done a great job in building it and are brilliant hosts. It’s an ideal place place to chill with friends or family. The food is great too!

    Paul2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • So much more than expected! Our family of 6 and dog had the whole island to ourselves. Very impressed with the craftsmanship Andy and Liz build this tranquil place. Even our teenage girls were able to get off their phones and chill. And ohhh the cooking .... no scrapes were left. As Chief Seattle once said: “only take memories and leave noting but footprints”

    Karen2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We rented the entire island for the 6 of us friends (3 couples). The island itself, the yurt space and the tent are magical. A space to delight even the most tentative “glamper”. The yurt is a completely livable space with well stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms, comfy sofas, wood burning stove, dining table and 2 bedrooms with super comfortable beds. We slept like a dream and awoke to the sounds of eagles, and views to delight the soul. Wonderful. The food provided by and cooked by Andy and Liz is perfect. A great place to get away from it all and just be.

    Sally2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andy and Liz's place is amazing. It has so much character and is beautifully light. The food provided was delicious and they were very accommodating. Already planning our next trip back.

  • The space provided by Margo was perfect for our impromptu trip. Just a night away with the family turned into a magical time. Our children absolutely loved experiencing the wind and the waves just a short walk down to the shore from the villa. How did Margo know we would forget to get coffee creamer? A fresh carton waiting for us in the fridge. Thank you so much Margo.

Our garden level suite is sunny and spacious with views of the sea from the beautiful bay window in the breakfast nook. We are a family home, steps from the beach, grocery, local coffee shop and a playground. There's plenty of space for cleaning and storing bikes or your scuba diving equipment. We are set up with Netflix, free Wifi, and a cupboard full of board games for the rainy days!
Our front foyer is a shared area and the suite is self contained with its own locking front door. Step into the bright living area complete with gas fireplace, sofa bed and large screen TV. Enjoy morning coffee overlooking the Salish Sea and Texada Island! Prepare meals in the spacious kitchen, some family favorite basics are provided such as pastas, pancake mix etc. Plenty of spare towels are available in the bathroom cupboard for those beach days! The bedroom has enough closet space for the entire family.
We love our neighbourhood! It’s a quiet street with quite a lot of neighbourhood children out (especially in summer) so please be mindful when driving, or backing out of our driveway. The playground is a 2 min walk down the hill, as is a sandy beach down the hill on the right side of the property. Want an evening of appies and drinks but don’t want to order a taxi? The Seasider Bistro is a 10-15 min beach walk away ( would not do it in heels though!) the beach in that direction is a little rocky!
  • A very large fully equipped suite conveniently located in a quiet upscale neighborhood. Definite stay again.

  • We stayed at Jen's place during a hockey tournament and it exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, well decorated, and the view was amazing. We couldn't wait to get back to the fireplace after each game! The kids enjoyed the activities in the closet and I appreciated the playpen and highchair for our littlest one. I would definitely recommend.

They had many extra touches like some items in the pantry, and amazing tea and coffee (including a decaf option). The view was beautiful and you could see if from the dining room window. It was very clean and cozy, and spacious. Having the fireplace on and watching Netflix was a perfect way to end the day.

If you haven't been to Savary yet, come explore and let me welcome you! If you have been here already, welcome back. This studio home was built as studio for artists. The space is open, though very cozy. You are in the middle of nature. Come relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches and forests. We are located on a beautiful property close to all amenities. Forest access, 1 minute; beach access, 5 minutes; bike rental, 1 minute; the pub & restaurant; 2 minutes.
The studio has 1 queen-sized bed and a comfy new 2-person futon. This is a great space for parents with kids or a group of close friends.
Our place is close to the beach, next door there is a bike rental shop and the pub, store and restaurant (only open during the summer months) are on a 2 minute walk.
  • Tim’s studio was beautiful. Rustic enough that you feel like you’re living in nature, but with all the facilities to be perfectly comfortable. We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

    Nicola2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cabin was great. The space is well taken care of and had all the facilities that we expected. There is a fireplace inside too that we used in the evenings. Our kids loved the cabin too. Had a space to play in the back. Kamal helped us with transport and gave us lots of useful tips. The location is very convenient. Close to marina, beach, groceries and a pub. It’s perfect if you plan to do day trips out of Savary. Few minutes walking to the water taxi. For families with older kids i would probably choose the bigger cabin that Tim also rents. It has more privacy and a beautiful deck to the front. To sum up, we enjoyed our stay, the unique cabin and a beautiful place which Savary definitively is.

    Barbara2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the studio for the second time and again felt comfortable and at home right away. It is a cozy cabin to have a fire and read in if its raining and a great base to adventure from. My kids also love the cabin and kamal is a great host. Thanks

    Scarlet2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was perfect for us and our 5 year old; we loved our rustic island experience. Our 5 year old was too excited to go to bed before the sun went down. If you are travelling with a child who needs to go to bed earlier and requires a darker room in order to do so, you may want to consider renting Tim’s other accommodation on this property. We hope to be back next year!

    Maria2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just got back from our trip to savary- wish we could’ve stayed forever. The space was beautiful, full of light and smelled like cedar. It was so relaxing and a short scenic walk to several beaches. Thank you Tim and Eline for sharing this little peace of heaven. Can’t wait to come back and special thanks to Kamal for being so great!

    Sydney2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is an awesome, quiet, centrally located little place to stay on amazing Savary Island. It's located about a 20 minute walk away from the Government Dock (but you will be picked up!), and 5 minutes down the hill are the bike rentals, general store, and pub. It smells like cedar, the many windows mean a ton of natural light, and you can have an indoor fire on the chillier nights or hang out in the backyard on warm ones. We were backpacking and it was super-easy to bring our own sheets and towels, too. Such a serene little getaway!

    Michelle2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fab, absolutely fab. Beautiful space and beautiful place, with Kamal a super host.

    Dylan2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this simple, comfortable, clean, cozy and sunny cabin. We felt at home right away and found it the perfect place for our savary island exploration. It has a nice outdoor space and has lots of sun. It is close to the water taxi and store and beaches. Make sure to bring all your own towels, pillow cases, sheets, and duvet covers.

Blue Suite is full 1 BR suite with laundry, kitchen, futon in living room and folding cot for child. Private entrance, and deck with BBQ. Older home perched on hillside overlooking Van Anda Cove and beyond to Powell River. Sorry - suite is down flight of stairs so not wheelchair accessible.
The Blue Suite of Rosebank Cottage is spacious and serene. Full kitchen, laundry, electric fireplace in living room, dining table overlooking fabulous view of Van Anda Cove and beyond to Powell River. See seals, otters, whales and dolphins, herons and eagles, kingfishers and more - right outside your window. Storm watching is good here too. Your own deck with BBQ also overlooks the cove.
Van Anda is a quaint little village, one of two on Texada. There is a grocery/general store, a post office and a Legion. Soon there will be a cafe and hopefully a pub. The Legion has regular pub services thru the week, and Wednesday night meals, with bar service. In Gillies Bay (10km) there is an upscale restaurant, "The Ravenous Raven" - licensed of course! and beyond, proceed to Shelter Point Park concession in summer months and great swimming and hiking.
  • Beautiful location, sparkling clean, has everything you need, and very good hostess

    Barbara2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!!! If you go to Texada this is the place to stay. The view!! wrap around window to soak it all in. Great 3 day stay! Cozy cottage to read, relax and to decompress from city life. We whipped up some steaks on the bbq. It was too cold to enjoy the deck but I did go out a few times to enjoy the incredible fresh air. We will be back.

  • Karen’s place is great. Clean and cozy with the most spectacular view. We loved exploring the island and returning to the wonderful view.

    Mia2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is a great hostess and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Great accommodation with an excellent view.

    Shane2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful view! Karen was a wonderful host and even had a small thanksgiving gift for us. The place was really clean and had everything to spend some great family time. Thanks a lot Karen!

    Adélaïde2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! I stayed here for five weeks in September and had a wonderful time. The apartment is spacious and cozy. There are two other apartments in the building, including the owners’, but it’s quite private. The bed is comfy, the living room is big, and the kitchen is really good for cooking. The internet is solid and reliable. The view is absolutely unbeatable — you have a panoramic view of the cove and the straight looking toward Powell River. It’s a really stunning setting and I had no issues. Karen is a wonderful host and very kindly picked me up from the ferry and gave me a short tour of Van Anda. It doesn’t take long: there’s one store, one cafe, and one restaurant. The apartment is within walking distance of everything in the town, and there’s a rocky beach nearby and lots of trails. But to fully explore the island or go to Gilles Bay, you’ll really need a car. Alternately, everyone is friendly and it’s easy to get a ride. This is a perfect place for an extended retreat or short island getaway. One piece of advice: bring as much as you can by way of provisions and supplies, as the store doesn’t have a huge selection and things are a bit pricey. Head to Mary Mary’s for breakfast and conversation. Walk up to Texada Inn for a bit more “formal” dining or to have a pint. Hitch a ride to Gilles Bay on Sundays to check out the farmer’s market. Thanks to Karen for a lovely stay!

  • Lovely little beach home directly on the water. We really enjoyed our time on the beach watching the wildlife. Judy and Jan were lovely hosts!

  • The Beach House is wonderful, and the hosts are a delight. We hope to come back soon!

    Mary2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • No need for many words. It is just perfect. You don´t want to leave!

    Gabi2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned from one of our best vacations ever and it was all due to this spectacular rental and the lovely Judy, Jan and Ken. We have already rebooked for next year after having left only yesterday as we already miss the view, the beautiful beach, our conversations with the Jan, Judy and Ken, the peace and the cracklings of the nightly beach fires. Upon arrival Ken brought us fresh vegetables from his garden, and we were lucky enough to sample some more throughout our stay. Our 3.5 year old loved the cabin and was lucky enough to be taken on a ride on Jan and Judy’s golf cart as well as to climb on the backhoe they have on their property. It was so nice to have such a lovely beach, deck, and lawn for the kids to play. We were so close to a store for when we would run out of a few things. Judy and Jan came down to see if we needed any new linens or garbage removed and brought anything else that they thought would help our stay such as another patio umbrella and smoothie machine :) all these little touches plus the absolute GEM of a cabin and location just made our vacation a 10/10. I ever forgot my sunglasses on the beach after we left and they somehow found them and sent them back to me. We can’t thank them enough for a wonderful stay and can’t wait to see them next year ! Ps- we didn’t see whales but it was because we missed them one morning when Jan kindly called us to tell us they were passing by the cabin!

    Jen2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome week at this incredible place. Fantastic views and a well appointed space for our small family of 3. Beach fires a sandy beach at low tide and lots of sea animals to spot. Thank you so much Jan, Judy & Ken for an amazing stay you are truly the most gracious and generous hosts.

    Sara2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This property is a true Sunshine Coast gem. The views of Georgia Strait and Texada Island are amazing and there is a beautiful beach to explore. From the sundeck we observed whales in the straight, watched sailboats and yachts pass and saw kite boarders and windsurfers playing in the waves. The amenities (especially in the kitchen) were amazing. It is obvious that a lot of thought went in to outfitting entire the house with everything that would be needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. I love to cook and there was truly not one thing I could think of that was needed in the kitchen! Judy and Jann are very warm down-to-earth people, who clearly care about their guest's experience. They are very knowledgable about the area and gave us good tips on local sites and activities. We were so impressed, we've already booked for next year!

    Kelly2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This home is absolutely beautiful and in a fantastic location. We couldn't ask for anything more from our stay. We were in town for a wedding - Judy and Jan went above and beyond and even offered to pick us up from the wedding to make sure we got home safe. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!!!

    Stephanie2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Judy and Jan were so lovely to deal with. Their place was the perfect spot for a quiet holiday and not too far from town! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Vic2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy space. Excellent view, great for hanging on the front deck, sipping a hot or cold drink. Even better from the upstairs bedroom. Huge soaker jet tub and great location close to everything. Even baby-friendly enough for our curious 1 year-old. Would easily stay again! Thank you.

    Faolan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I can't rave enough about this place! It's very central, and felt like a home away from home. Elisa keeps a very nice house, it was well stocked and had the most amazing selection of teas! I slept in the upstairs bedroom, and woke up to a beautiful view of the ocean. There's a cute patio out front, which would be perfect for watching the sunset (unfortunately it was super stormy when we went, so we couldn't take advantage of the patio!) If you're coming to Powell River, I HIGHLY suggest staying here!! You just can't go wrong with the jacuzzi tub, cute decor and amazing view!

    Melina2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • At Elisa’s place I was so comfortable i felt like i was at home. Great central location, clean, private, cozy, great view, pet friendly, well stocked and great communication with the host. The jacuzzi, ocean view and wood stove give it that extra special touch. (There is regular heat too-which was set at a perfect temperature so the house was warm when i arrived). I can’t wait to go back! It snowed the night before my arrival and she made sure the driveway was shovelled and left me with lots of salt if i needed it. Very thoughtful! The only suggestion i would make would be to have a corkscrew on hand (maybe there was one and i never found it?). Thanks again for your great hospitality Elisa!

Time to relax and enjoy all that Savary has to offer you in our cabin. The cabin is on the northern side, mid-island with views of the ocean from the front yard. The beach can be accessed by trails that are within a short walking distance. The lower floor cabin is completely self-contained with a private entrance. There are no stairs, allowing easy accessibility. The kitchen and living room are open with views towards the ocean. If wanting the entire cabin, contact me to discuss.
Savary is off grid - we run the cabin on solar and propane. Please no hairdryers. We are on well water. Conserve energy and water as it is precious.
Savary Island is approximately 7 km long and is known for its beautiful beaches and warm swimming waters. There is one pub/ general store on the Island. There is no liquor store on the Island so if hoping to enjoy watching the sunset with a beverage, you will need to plan ahead. The closest beaches to the cabin are Indian point, Mermaid Rock, the Meadows and Southerland. Indian point is approximately 15 minute walk down Savary Island road. Indian point is the easiest beach to access. Mermaid Rock, Southerland and the Meadows are approximately 20 minute walk, and beach is accessed by a steep stair case.
  • Great stay! Loved Savary Island.

  • Deborah’s house is perfect, I highly recommend. Moreover Deborah is very helpful and answer quickly.

    Luc2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such an adorable cabin (we were in the downstairs suite) with a gorgeous view and huge windows... I spent a lot of time in those chairs overlooking the ocean with a cup of tea in hand! So peaceful and serene. Debbie provides everything you need for a comfortable stay, and is so quick to answer any messages. Thoughtful and welcoming touches are all over - from great coffee to a selection of board games for those unplugged evenings. Note that there is an upstairs suite which also rents out, and you may hear a bit of the tenants above you. Beds are soooo comfortable, and it’s such a quiet and peaceful place at night, you may sleep harder than you thought possible. Thanks for a great stay, Debbie!

"Serendipity Inn" is a 1915 heritage style home moved and currently being reconstructed in a vintage style in a beautiful country setting just minutes from hospital/malls/beaches. You will experience early and mid 1900's living at its best, with modern conveniences. Importantly, you will be staying in an unfinished home (rough and rustic with open walls and unfinished floors - priced accordingly) and your stay will help fund further restoration. Visit our caboose! Horse boarding too.
We have just installed a claw foot tub in the master bedroom - quite rustic but come have a soak! We are working on restoring a juke box and a pop machine and the kitchen is set up to become a soda fountain :) On the top floor we are working on a play area and starting to restore a pool table, a shuffle board, and have a slot hockey game and some other old fashioned games to play. We hope to be working on a model railroad over the summer.
We are about 5 minutes from the Powell River Recreation Complex with a large pool, gym, and ice rinks. We are about 10 minutes to the ocean and Willington Beach. We are also on the way to the interior lakes: Inland, Powell, and Duck lakes are just short drives away. We are also only about 5 minutes away from the General Hospital - so very close to the center of town but in a very private and rural setting.
  • It was a great choice

  • Roy is a generous, kind hearted soul. He was great to our family while we stayed at serendipity. The views from the house are fantastic and the house has so much character and charm. Thanks again Roy!

  • Roy was the best host we have ever had. Friendly, full of storiesbut but not intrusive. His place is under renovation as Roy described it, nevertheless we fell in love with the ace immediately. The setting is fantastic and I recommend to bring some carrots for his horse Digger. The location is great, minutes away from town or the provincial park. We loved the breakfast baskets. Such a nice touch. We recommend this place to anyone with a bit a sense of adventure and will stay there again. Thank you Roy Gion

The beach house is close to outdoor adventure and family-friendly activities. You’ll love it because of the breathtaking views, the peace and tranquility, the walkout waterfront beach, and the connection with nature. Our place is fantastic for families (with kids), and big groups.
This beautiful rancher has banks of floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors that walk out to the deck that spans the full length of the house. It has rustic wood floors as well as tile and granite and a 20 foot long-table/Island perfect for large groups of 12 or more to gather and share a meal. The kitchen has a 5 burner propane cooktop and wall oven, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. A second fridge with water and ice dispenser is located off the kitchen on the deck where you will also find an outdoor bar with running hot and cold water and a barbecue. There is a large capacity washer/dryer and sink in the separate laundry room. The bedrooms are large and spacious. There is also a den that can be used for sleeping overflow or configuration issues. Extra foams are available for the floor. The main bathroom is complete with tub/shower and the master bath is large with a granite walk-in double shower. There is a 2 person sauna and a 5 person hot tub as well as a fire pit in the yard and a fire table on the deck. The granite stairs take you down to the waters edge where you will enjoy hours of family fun on the pebble beach. Please be aware that there is no railing or barrier around the deck. It is not baby proof and will be a safety concern for toddlers.
This is a treed rural setting on half an acre of landscaped property away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We are 10-20 minutes away from all amenities. There are excellent restaurants in the city centre and north of us.
  • A beautiful setting and accommodations for a crowd! The most spectacular master bedroom suite(Huge) and 20 ft Island with stools all around! Looking at the Ocean while drinking your morning coffee!

  •   We enjoyed our stay at this lovely peaceful seaside vacation home!  Upon entering the home we were welcomed with two bottles of wine which was a very nice surprise. It was clean and comfortable providing the perfect place to rest and relax. The home is well-equipped with all necessities you could need making it feel like a home away from home. We were especially happy to find two rocking chairs which were a must-have for nursing and soothing the little one that was with us. The home has large windows that provide sweeping views of the ocean and sky. The covered deck provided protection from sun and rain so that we could be outside at all times. Being on the ocean front we were able to see a variety of sea life from otters, sea lions to whales. Our family took advantage of the amenities offered from sitting in the hot tub on a warm summers evening to swinging in the hammocks reading our books. We had fun roasting hot dogs in the fire pit and making s’mores too. Annette was a great host and responded quickly to all our enquiries. We would highly recommend this vacation rental and would definitely stay here again.

    Patt2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • There was so much space for a 3 generational family retreat We spent the majority of time outside. Proximity to ocean was excellent. We saw whales breaching, otters, eagles, seals and more. The family kayaked and paddle boarded. Hot tub was well used.

    Faye2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Annette and Ken are great host. They have everything that you need for family vacation. The view just as amazing as their house. It’s definitely another day in Paradies.

  • A gracious host. Informative of local interests. Greeted us on arrival though it was late and always available to answer questions or give direction. The amenaties were plenty. And it is clear how much care you put into this place. Thank you so much for the opportunity to live here for the week.

    Lorie2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, amazing, amazing! We throughly enjoyed this spacious home with our 6 children and two of our daughters boyfriends. It was the perfect space for our large group, plenty of sleeping room and ample room to hang out around the super-large kitchen table and front deck that spanned the entire house. Literally steps from the beach where we easily launching our kayaks and paddle boards. Swimming was amazing, as were sunsets and moonlit nights around a crackling campfire. The house is very well stocked with kitchen supplies, bedding, games and almost everything a family needs. A rainy day? No problems, there’s lots of covered reading space in the two hammocks or on a comfy chair on the partially covered deck. Be sure to take beach shoes as the beach is quite pebbly. It was a real treat to stay, we didn’t venture far from this lovely home. The hosts are amazing and were very assessable with any questions that we had while staying here. Thanks Ken and Anette for being such wonderful hosts!

    Adriaan2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view with windows overlooking the ocean. Well stocked kitchen. Lots of open space to visit with each other and lots of space for quiet time. Above expectation. Already booked for next year. Another year for family memories!!!

  • We just returned from a fantastic 5 night stay at Annette's place. Pictures do not do this place justice; it was even better than we expected. Everything was sparkling clean, the hosts were helpful and friendly, the view was spectacular and we had everything we needed for adults and kids too! The beach is steps away and we were lucky enough to see seals, orcas, humpback whales and so many birds. Would definitely stay again!

The property sits on a bank about a hundred feet above the water with a beach access trail leading right from the edge of the deck. With no laundry facilities on site, guests will need to bring their own sheets (fitted and flat), pillow cases, towels, kitchen towels, and dish clothes. We do have ample blankets and pillows.
The base price for this cabin covers 4 guests. We can accommodate up to an additional 3 guests (7 total) for a per person nightly fee. We have a minimum 7 night stay during high season and a 4 night minimum the rest of the time. The original two-room cabin, build in 1977 has undergone several additions and renovations over its lifetime. It is not fancy but it does tell the story of it's many years of welcoming family and vacationers alike. You should find that it's relaxed feel is a perfect match for the laid back feeling of the island in general. You will find that with 3 full size bedrooms, the small twin bed room, and the open family room and dining area there is ample room to spread out. The second twin mattress is currently in the small single room on the main floor, but guests are welcome to move it to the loft or into one of the other rooms for use as a floor mattress as long as it is returned at the end of the stay. No other mattresses/beds should be moved. The three-piece bath is an ensuite attached to one of the queen bedrooms. The half bath is located just off the living room. There is also a second hot water shower located outdoors with incredible views of the ocean and the snow-topped mountains in the distance. The bright walk-through kitchen, equipped with a four-burner propane stove, a full size electric fridge, and plenty of counter space is open to the living and dining areas. There is no wifi on site. There is good cell coverage throughout most of the house and the internet can be accessed via cell phone data plans. Due to the hills and stairs this cabin is not considered wheelchair accessible.
Savary Island is located just off the coast at Lund, BC (about a 30 minute drive from Powel River). It is accessible by water taxi departing out of Lund. Come enjoy the forests, meadows, and fabulous beaches while you create memories with family and friends.
  • Bernie & Lori’s Savary Island home is just like in the pictures! Location on the bluff gives outstanding views PLUS there is direct beach access. The home is well kept and their care taker Paul very thorough walking you through the details of the house upon welcome. We definitely look forward to booking again next year!

  • Wow! I can’t even describe how amazing the cottage and location on savary is!! We absolutely loved our second stay and it was very hard to leave even after two weeks, the cottage is so comfortable, it makes you feel like it could be your own home. Everything was there and thought of that you may need. The outdoor shower was a dream, we used it everyday! The view, words cannot explain the beauty! Thank you so much for the retreat and rest xxoo love you Savary Island and Lori and Berni

  • This place was great! beautiful views and quick access down to a great beach. Nice family cottage with all the amenities we needed. Great BBQ and all the kitchen tools and dishes we needed. Lots of room and very comfortable. Nothing modern and no wifi or TV but this was perfect for the type of place we wanted to unwind.

    Leila2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful private home with a gorgeous view of desolation sound. We spent 4 days and can’t wait to return!

    Alec2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived June 19th and stayed until June 23rd. Amazing location with beach access to a beautiful beach right in the middle of eagles landing. We witnessed some gorgeous sunsets from the patio overlooking the ocean while listening to the eagles talk to each other. 5 mins after arriving to the house our 4 year old turned to us and said “This place is so beautiful!” The locals here are so kind and very helpful with info about the island and tips on beaches to try. We will most definitely be returning here in the future and many more years to come.

The Lund Harbour House is a spacious (815 sq. feet inside + 570 sq. feet of decks) custom, hand crafted suite situated on the waterfront in the Lund harbour. Private & peaceful, yet only meters to restaurants, shops, art galleries, and tour operators along a private boardwalk. It is suitable for up to 4 guests with a well stocked kitchen & fireplace. An adjacent beach area is perfect for kayak launching (yours or rent ours!) and those decks offer Lund's best place for viewing amazing sunsets.
Originally a quaint one-room cabin that jutted out over the water, supported by pilings, it was part of a network of buildings connected by a wooden boardwalk that even stretched from the Lund Harbour all the way over to neighbouring Finn Bay. In the 1990’s, the Treadwell family bought the one-acre property and over time, added on to the cabin, slowly adding 2 more stories to create a unique one of kind coastal home. With its signature wavy shingles and whimsical windows, and a wooden carved Neptune, it draws a lot of attention from locals and visitors alike. Current owners, Hugh & Christine have lived on the property since 2008 and are now pleased to share the best part of their home with you. They have prepared a wonderful space for you to rest, relax and enjoy the best of what Lund and the area has to offer. Suitable for up to 4 guests with a galley, a head (3 piece bath), a berth (bedroom with queen bed), the cabin (living room & 2nd queen bed when needed) and the best view of our stunning sunsets.
Lund is known as the gateway to Desolation Sound! Guests can easily access the general store, restaurants, art gallery, water taxi and other shops and summer time eateries and markets on foot within 5 minutes of walking along the boardwalk, which is right outside the doors of the suite. We also have a private kayak launch site for our tours that our guests may access and across the road from our property, there is a public beach access that is suitable for dips in the ocean, as we don’t recommend swimming in the harbour!
  • We spent two nights here and it was an awesome experience. The accommodation is clean, spacious, thoughtfully decorated and the fire place is a nice touch! It's also right on the water (literarily) and very private. There is an excellent restaurant approx 30 meters away and a lovely little bakery next to it. Two things to note: - Those of you who decide to stay during the winter, I suggest you bring house slippers as the tiled floor was quite cold. - As the space is well looked after, you should be prepared to sweep up and collect your garbage before you leave. This isn't mentioned in the Airbnb description but is specified in the handbook. There is an additional fee for unwashed dishes, along with the standard cleaning fee upon booking. Overall, we loved our stay! The neighbourhood is quaint and everyone we met was extremely friendly! The views are breathtaking. We'll be back!

    Manraj2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Christine's Airbnb is in such a great location, with a boardwalk that connects to a restaurant next door, and an awesome bakery next to that. Christine was a gracious host, with a great home for us while we were there. Very unique features in the house make it a super cool place to hangout, and a great balcony to watch sunsets. 11/10 would recommend.

    Chris2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Someone put a lot of artistic care in remodeling this sweet place. The kitchen/dining area has a great view of the harbor. It is like living in a piece of artwork. It needs a gentle touch, if you are hard on things this isn’t the place to rent. But if you love woodwork, harbor views, nautical themes (a ship’s portal doorway into the bathroom), this is your place. The only obstacle I can find that keeps this from being perfect, which they can’t change, is the long, uneven path down to the place and the 4 stairs from the bedroom through the living room and into the kitchen to get to the bathroom. If you have physical limitations this may not be a good choice. As a poet, this was a truly inspirational place. I hope to return.

    Amber2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, Submarine/ferry door to bathroom a whimsical touch. Beautiful detailed wood work throughout including live edge counters. Never ending wildlife outside : seals, harlequins, cormorants. We even saw Humpbacks! The Telescope was an unexpected treat. Fireplace and comfy sofa for quiet evenings. TV available but we (proudly) never used. Spacious, well equipped kitchen. Easy walking to Nancys(amazing) Bakery along boardwalk that starts at your front door.

    Kathy2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re staying in Lund, for whatever reason, you will not find a better location than this. Great space, great view, easy folks to communicate with!

    Matthew2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location and a beautiful house. The view is great!

    David2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing, quiet, private and had everything you needed! It was so relaxing to enjoy a cup of local coffee and look out onto the marina. Christine is a thoughtful host, and it is a great place to enjoy coastal living!

    Maggie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • An exceptional place at the end of the world, the house on the harbor with a breathtaking view of the sunset on Savary Island. Decoration and architectural elements in harmony with the environment without falling into caricature. The switch on Terracentric is perfect to discover the sunshine coast in the ideal conditions. Special mention to our skipper Yann who led us to Desolation Sound, and Eric for the electric bikes! WE love Lund

  • To whom ever is thinking of staying at 3 chicken farm.. do it ! The chickens are everywhere and peck at your patio door. The 3 goats are hilarious and the big one loved my boyfriend. The 3 ducks that are completely going in same direction at all times you will love! But Lincoln will steal your heart as he did mine! You need to go to find out who Lincoln is. The place is amazing and so are Jenn and Pat but hands off my puppy!

  • What an incredible little getaway this was. Chickens, ducks, goats, horses, dogs, and Gracie the cat were all so much fun!! Nice hiking trails just minutes from the doorstep. The place was cozy, clean, spacious, and exceeded our expectations. Comes with all the essentials; coffee, sugar, oils and spices, paper towel, toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, hair dryer, towels, even a couple of local beers and fresh eggs were left in the fridge for us! The hot tub was so lovely, there was also an outdoor propane fire pit and BBQ. Jenn & Pat blew us away with their hospitality, just really great people. Thanks for everything, we look forward to coming back!!

    Laura2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Powell River's best kept secret!! We came to Three Chicken Farm to getaway from busy Vancouver city and it was exactly what we needed. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to make full home cooked meals and the hot tub is the perfect luxury after the stunning hikes that are mere metres away from the house. The house is private, spacious and well-equipped (towels, robes, all the trimmings) with modern styling and beautiful thoughtful touches. Hope to back very soon!

Whether you want to cook while there or if you wish to eat out, a complete kitchen including coffee and tea are there. Be ready for peace and quiet in a place that is surrounded by beauty.

  • Very nice accommodation and a lovely beach area. As John writes in his description, to get to the beach you just walk around down the public access path right next to your gate. The beach is lovely. The apartment has everything you need, including coffee and a coffee grinder, much appreciated in the morning. As others have also mentioned, John was extremely helpful with local tips and went out of his way to accommodate us after we came on the morning ferry from Earl's Cove. Thank you, John!

We live on the property and have a second home on the property that we make available to guests. Perched above a beautiful rocky beach with sweeping views, the home is comfortable and fully equipped with everything you need for a family getaway, including access to the fire pit, trampoline, canoes and kayaks. Our immediate area has great hiking and wonderful access to nature with bald eagles flying overhead and whales passing by. We also have a cabin and tent if you have a larger family.
The house is quaint. Each bedroom has a view of the ocean. The house has everything you might need to have a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a comfortable space that includes a full kitchen with everything you might need to cook meals or have a BBQ. While the space is fully equipped and comfortable, it's not fancy or glamorous. In addition to the three bedrooms, each with a double or queen bed, there is also a fold out couch in the house. The fold-out couch is right in the middle of the living room, so is a good way to accomodate additional quests, but can constrict the space. If you want to have a larger group, we do have a sleeping cabin and a glamping tent that can be rented for an additional fee. The sleeping cabin has a queen size bed and the tent has a double bed and two single beds. These two sleeping options are served by an outhouse and outdoor shower/bathing facility and have access to a separate kitchen. Lastly, we have an RV that can accommodate 2-6 additional people. The RV has a shower, kitchen, sitting area and bed.
The property is conveniently located in the center of Cortes Island. We are at the end of the road, so there’s no traffic to worry about. We are quite close to the government dock in Cortes bay for those that wish to park their boats. There is great hiking, kayaking and biking right from the house. If you are considering a kayak trip of Desolation Sound, we are a great jumping off place. We are just a few hour kayak from the amazing kayak access camping sites in Desolation Sound. From our beach, you can can be at Desolation Sound Marine Park Locations within a few hours. For kayak guests, we are happy to support your trip by allowing you to leave your car on the property while you go adventuring. (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/desolation/)

  • Manda met us when we arrived and made herself available for any needs we may have had during our stay. We had everything we needed at the space and more. The location is breathtaking. We spent most of the day out and about on the island, including canoeing around Cortes bay (provided with the rental). Fresh oysters from the beach outside the cabin, too! The space was tidy and cozy. Lots of cute, friendly creatures on the land as well. All-in-all a great experience and highly recommended. Five stars for Manda and Family.

  • Manda and Sadhu were amazing hosts. We immediately felt included and welcome. We ate oysters over the fire, dug clams from the lagoon, canoed in the bay, hiked the red granite bluff, dusted our toes in the white sand of Hague lake and warmed them by the wood stove. If you want to experience what island life is like from the chickens laying their eggs to tasting freshly smoked salmon, from early ocean sunrises to innumerable evening stars then Manda and Sadhu’s cabin is the right choice. Can’t wait to return.

  • My family of four stayed at Jim's house the week before Labor Day. Communication with Jim was easy and efficient. I appreciated that he provided a detailed document with things to do, restaurants and shopping well in advance of our trip. His house was very comfortable and well-appointed, and in a beautiful spot. My boys (ages 16 and 12) loved the foosball and table hockey games, and we enjoyed playing a different board game each evening as a family. His house is close to the water, and it was very calm and warm for swimming and kayaking (we loved that the house provided kayaks!). We went hiking, mountain biking and kayaking in the area and really loved our time there. Thanks again!
