In April, the annual SALT Festival takes over the city for 10 days of performance art, rock shows on the beach, acrobatics, stand-up comedy, and all kinds of creativity. In January, you can attend the quirky Tunarama Festival, where you’ll find carnival rides, live entertainment for kids and adults, and some seriously fresh seafood.

Parnkalla Trail

You can take a scenic tour of the city with a journey along the 35-kilometre Parnkalla Trail. The path is paved, making it accessible for wheelchairs, electric bikes, inline skates, or hikers. Along the way, you’ll spot the Axel Stenross Maritime Museum, Shelly Beach, Moreton Bay fig trees, the jetty, a striking statue of a fisherman with a catch on his line, and local wildlife from birds to small reptiles.

Lincoln National Park

The clear jewel-toned waters of Boston Bay and the granite headlands make this one of South Australia’s most visited parks. Memory Cove Wilderness Protection Area is popular for its incredibly clear blue bay and sugar sand beach where swimming and fishing are permitted. Some of Australia’s most recognizable wildlife can be found throughout this area of the Jussieu Peninsula, including wallabies, kangaroos, emus, and echidnas.
