Places to stay in Port Elgin

Places to stay in Port Elgin
An originally maintained character home right in Port Elgin. The house is very old and features some unique woodwork throughout, a large main staircase, stained glass windows, and a large kitchen. There is one bathroom upstairs, and very unique tiny 1 piece bathroom downstairs. The property is surrounded by large trees and gardens; to enjoy the pleasures of nature one must also be prepared for mosquitoes. The property also features a floating dock. Excellent for paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The guests can use the whole space inside and outside of the home with the exception of the barn.
The house is along the Gaspereau River which empties into the Northumberland Strait - famous for having the warmest waters in the North Atlantic (north of North Carolina). Port Elgin is a very small town, it has most amenities but a limited selection for groceries and shopping. Nearby Baie Verte is home to the famous fine dinning of 'Le Chat Blue' bistro and cafe. Port Elgin is 20 Minutes to Cape Jourimain and the Confederation bridge to Prince Edward Island, 30 minutes to Shediac, Sackville, Amherst and Pugwash in Nova Scotia, and 40 minutes to Moncton
  • Nice place and loved the old style.

  • Fantastic place. Very well taken care of, clean, spacious. You can see their care in the details of the house.

  • What a beautiful house! Strong and inviting. Despite the tail of Dorian hurricane that affected our stay in Port Elgin. We founded a very clean property, good beds, lots of space, a beautiful view on the river. We would love to come back under better weather!  Thank you Elita for having share the house with us and made it easy to get reimburse because of loss of the electrical power network supply. The Triplettes québécoises.

  • Beautiful place!! Not a single complaint

    Ricky2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • It is a perfect cabin! It is a perfect size for a family or two couples. Us and another couple brought our 6 months old babies and the stay was great! The pack and plays fit in the rooms (though nothing else). The beds are a great size and comfortable. The common space is very comfortable and relaxing. A great trip for a winter getaway.

Enjoy a relaxing and restful holiday at this delightful hide-away situated on the seashore at Oxley Beach (Tidnish) Nova Scotia. Tidnish is halfway between Amherst and Pugwash on the Sunrise Trail (Route 366) along the Northumberland Strait. This private quiet location is ideal for those who wish to explore Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island or simply "veg out" at the seaside. Oxley Beach is just minutes from the Tidnish Dock Provincial Park and the New Brunswick Border.
  • We really enjoyed staying at this peaceful location with an impressive view of the ocean. Karen and Gary are very polite and caretaking hosts. Due to our late arrival in the darkness, they kept many lights switched on, so it was easy to find the place. After a warm welcome, Gary provided the most important information to let us going for sleep after a busy day. Next days we had some more nice chats and explored many impressive locations not too far away from Amherst.

    Dirk2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice.

    Rex2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cozy cottage, just steps away from the thoughtful attentive hosts who are in the cottage next door. The two cottages are very close, approx. 20 ft, but it didn't feel intrusive. The location is ideal and you can watch the herons fish at low tide, or swim at high tide, because you are right next to the beach. We felt very welcome and were even given fresh biscuits that Karen had baked, hot from the oven. We stayed two weeks...wish it was longer.

    Libby2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Garry and Karen's cottage. There are great views over the bay where there is a big difference between high and low tide. The cottage was clean, well furnished and convenient. Garry was a great host.

    Bill2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Garry’s place is as exactly as described. Very peaceful and quiet. Great views of the sunset. Pretty neat watching the tide come and go.

Oceanfront cottage on the Northumberland straight- warmest waters north of the Carolinas. Nestled on a tidal bay where you can go beach- combing when the tide is out and swimming when the tide is in. Prince Edward Island Confederation Bridge is 30 minutes away, Nova Scotia is 20 minutes away. Beautiful views and sunsets. Kayaks available, firepit, bunk house/storage shed, play ground, beach access. Everything you need for an unplugged, relaxing vacation. Ideal for families or couples.
Cottage with wrap around deck right on the ocean. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Close to beach access.
    Neighbours are friendly and helpful.
  • Anyone reading this, please take our word for it. This is an experience you will have for a lifetime. Susan and her husband are amazing hosts, even delivered fire wood to us so we could have a few extra fires. Neighbours are very friendly and always stop and say hello. Susan provides everything you need for a trip away. The view from this cottage is spectacular and the cottage is very quaint and comfy. My wife had the most amazing time in the ocean hunting for sea shells. There were books provided for guests to read. What an experience this was and what a vacation. If you want to visit PEI it's 40km one way and Nova Scotia 40km the other way. Thank you. Shawn and Robin.

  • Just an awesome place to unplug.

    Jeffrey2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage setting on the Northumberland straight. Ample outdoor space, panoramic views and we'll equipped. We loved our stay!

    Maureen2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan’s place was a perfect getaway for us. The cottage is delightfully rustic, homey and welcoming in the best possible way. It has everything you need and nothing more. We really appreciated the “offline” nature of the place, as we were in serious need of some digital minimalism. The ocean view is as spectacular as advertised, and it was a real treat to take their kayaks out onto the bay to more fully experience the water. The swimming was great too. But mostly we enjoyed some quality quiet time on their beautiful deck, watching the birds and the waves and reading some books. I highly recommend Susan’s place if you feel the need to unplug and listen to the water for a few days. Great communication with the hosts. We hope to come back again if we can.

    Peter2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was incredibly accommodating and friendly to our group. Their cottage is beautiful and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

  • My husband and I and our little dog loved our stay and would have loved to have stayed longer if we had more time! We enjoyed all the little details that made our stay cozy and comfortable.

    Meghan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here at the Glengarry cottage! The accommodations were cozy and clean, but it was the little touches that made it stand out. They had coffee, milk, cream, cereal, condiments, fresh free range farm eggs and more available to ensure we had all we needed along with the food we brought. We had one rainy day during our stay, but were able to choose from a selection of 800+ movies and had a cozy fire on the woodstove. Our hosts were always available with the ring of a door bell. Garry gave us a tour of the barn where we enjoyed brushing the horses (Bell & Fancy) and meeting all the other farm animals there. The location is great with some nice beaches nearby, beautiful scenery and great resteraunts. We highly recommend!

    Donald2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Glengarry cottage is an amazing venue and the hosts Margo and Garry are the nicest people you can meet. The space is clean, cozy and just perfect for a relaxing getaway. Fresh eggs and a tour of the animals made our time there really special. We stayed an extra night because of how amazing this place is. Would highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed, Garry and Margo are just great!

    Michelle2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • I strongly recommend it to you !!

  • Amazing hosts in an incredible space! Their above-and-beyond hospitality and personal touches really made the experience unforgettable. The space was clean, well equipped, comfortable, and felt like home. Ken and Nancy were warm and friendly hosts, even inviting us upstairs for tea one night! Shediac is the perfect location for a getaway as well. Amazing local restaurants, close to the beach, and within driving distance of Moncton. I can't say enough about this location. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

    Zachary2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely amazing space. Ken and Nancy have thought of EVERYTHING. The space is clean, relaxing and inspiring. I will 100% be back!

    Brittany2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wow!! What a spectacular AirBNB. This exceeded our expectations. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed at. All of the sweet extras and added touches. Nancy was always so quick to respond to any questions we had! The bed was so cozy and we felt right at home. We can’t wait until next time! Thanks for your hospitality! Alana & Billy

    Alana2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy & Ken’s place totally blew our minds! The second you walk in, you are flooded with this sense of peace and calming energy. I couldn’t get over how much attention was put into the small details. Since the concept of the room was all about "hygge" and slowing down/relaxing, everywhere you would turn would show you that. From the plants, the books about slow living and slow food, the coffee/hot chocolate/tea bar (??????? I mean??????? How awesome is that????), to the dim lights and Himalayan pink salt lamp. Everything was perfectly placed where it should have been to create this absolutely amazing experience of relaxation. On top of an already amazing place, the location was spot on. We live in Moncton, NB and wanted to go for a small getaway that wouldn’t be too far from the city. It was approximately 20 minutes from Moncton and not even 5 minutes from Downtown Shediac. This made it super easy to go grab a bite and drink in Shediac, and then for easy checkout back to Moncton the next day. For travelers who are looking to unwind– near or far– I absolutely recommend Nancy & Ken’s place. I also really loved how present their were with you throughout the time of booking to the day you arrived. They always made sure that we were OK and if ever we needed recommendations or even needed any help during our stay, that they were literally only a call or text away. This was really appreciated and I can only see how anyone new to the area could really benefit from all this friendly hospitality. I could go on and on, but seriously, if you’ve been looking at AirBNB in the area and debating about this one, this is your sign. Book this one. Now. ♥️

  • The Hopewell House is so lovely! Amy was wonderful and very communicative. She left us a kind note and detailed instructions for the home, which is historical and cozy. The beds are so comfortable and the linens are good quality. Amy has been kind enough to have throw blankets on the beds and in the living room for when it gets chilly at night. There’s a coffee maker and a kettle for tea too! Would definitely recommend this house and it’s beautiful view!

  • This is a must-stay Airbnb. Regardless of the time of year. I came in the winter because I was doing some work at a university nearby, but the beauty of New Brunswick still comes through in February/March. The location is excellent, everything you need is within a 20-minute drive, and you can visit three different provinces in just over an hour. If you like to hike there is lots to explore, and if you just want to chill it's the perfect setup as well. This is one of the coziest places I've ever stayed in. Sarah was a wonderful host and there were several thoughtful touches put into every detail. I was provided with everything I needed for a comfortable weekend stay. Also - the house is full of history dating back over one-hundred years. If you like Canadian history, you'll love this place. Definitely recommend taking some time to come out here. I know for sure I'll be back to see it in the summer. Apparently it's even better!

We will have sprays on hand but please feel free to bring your own if you like.
  • The Snug is a perfect gateway, right on the ocean. The hosts provided outstanding hospitality - including some lovely treats upon check in. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. Linda provided great local tips. The space itself is quaint, with a lot of thoughtful touches. Very clean and quiet. Look forward to returning in the summer!

  • The chalet is located very close to the beach. The chalet is easy to assess. The decor of the chalet was very well done with lots of interesting personal touches. We enjoyed our stay very much. We highly recommend the chalet.

  • Lisa’s place is honestly the best spot to take a break from busy everyday life. The place was clean and private. The cottage is facing away from the main road which makes it very nice. We loved the hot tub and appreciated Lisa’s effort on keeping it going. There were tons of special touches that we loved. Including chocolate and a bag of popcorn for a snack. Would highly recommend.

  • Amazing little cottage to relax. We had an amazing time.

    Sylvain2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s place was perfect for our destress, relaxation vacation. The cottage itself was very comfortable with recliners and a large TV with Netflix and full cable and a beautiful propane fireplace. The bedrooms had comfortable beds and closet space with hangers. The bathroom was functional and very clean with lots of hooks for bathing suits and towels. The kitchen was functional and fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware. However, you will need to bring your own baggies/containers for leftovers. The hot tub, for us, was the highlight! Very clean and well-maintained - it was private and out of the wind, and was perfect for relaxation. Lisa was quick with communications and was willing to help in any way possible. Highly recommend.

    Sharon2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a wonderful evening in this chalet. It was clean and very beautiful. We loved the wood stove and the whirlpool. Lisa answered our questions very quickly. We plan to return soon!

This century old school house is a hidden gem. Nestled at the end of 'School Lane' this building has been converted and is now home to a loft apartment and the offices of a local environmental charity. This gorgeous sunlit loft has been updated with modern fixings but has retained all of it's historic charm. With a fully equipped open concept kitchen, beautiful bathroom with antique clawfoot tub, 14 foot ceilings, TV with Netflix + cozy sunlit bedroom - you'll be right at home.
This lovely space truly speaks for itself. Floor to ceiling windows spill natural light into every nook and cranny. With views of lush trees and rolling fields in the summer, and tranquil painted marsh-scapes in the winter you may never want to leave. Enjoy a soak in our clawfoot tub while sipping wine. Sit back on our cozy antique couch and put a movie on Netlix. Or listen to music while hosting friends in our open concept kitchen - dining room area with bar stools. The SchoolHouse is also directly beside a walking path called the 'Rails to Trails'. A 5 minute walk in one direction takes you to beautiful Silver Lake - while a 35 minute walk in the other direction takes you directly into downtown Sackville. Enjoy a stroll and dinner in town - and no worries if you don't want to walk back - Sackville Cab is just a call away. We look so forward to having you stay with us!
The School House is nestled at the end of 'School Lane' which is just off of Main St. This is a very quiet neighbourhood with old character homes. It is an 8 minute drive to downtown Sackville, or a 40 minute walk. The space is also just a 5 minute walk away from the beautiful Silver Lake with beach, playground and dock.
  • I had a lovely stay at the Schoolhouse. It was so open and quiet and bright with all the amenities needed to to cook and have a peaceful, cozy retreat with my daughter. It is a wonderful old building so close to the walking trail. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting Sackville.

  • This was a great place for a quiet writing retreat. The stereo quality was great which really helped with my writing ;) The temperature was great despite the age of the building and the many windows and there was plenty of hot water.

Enjoy a fully equipped home with a beautiful wrap-around verandah close to beaches and provincial parks on the Northumberland Strait.
The house is spacious yet cozy with all you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation with family and friends. The living room is large with comfy couches on which to relax and enjoy a book or a board game, and the fully equipped kitchen has all you need to prepare your own meals, including lobster tools! Enjoy your morning coffee on the quiet wrap-around verandah listening to the cheerful birdsong while gazing at the flower garden. A small Weber barbecue, patio table and lounge chairs provide a nice place to cook and eat outdoors. The house has three bedrooms which will sleep 6 comfortably. The main bedroom has a queen bed, the medium room has a 3/4 bed (almost as big as a double) as well as bunk beds, and the smaller room has a 3/4 bed. All rooms have a chest of drawers and room darkening window shades, and each bed has a reading lamp. The main bedroom has blackout curtains as well as shades, and an overhead fan. The bathroom has a full bathtub as well as shower, with plenty of storage space and a stool provided for the little ones to get to the sink. The house is a 1 minute drive to Northport Beach Provincial Park and a 12 minute drive to Heather Beach Provincial Park, both of which have extensive sand bars during low tide (a tide chart is provided in the kitchen). The Amherst Shore Provincial Park is a 3 minute drive away, with access to the beach as well as a nice trail through the woods. The house is an easy walk from the Northport boat launch and the wharf, where fishermen come in with their lobster catches of the day. You can also buy lobster and other seafood in Port Howe, 10 minutes away. Enjoy the beautiful beaches surrounding the quiet community of Northport on the Northumberland Strait, known for having the warmest waters north of the Carolinas. Lots of opportunities for long walks on the sand at low tide, and swimming at high tide. The house is 30 minutes from Amherst with major shops and a 17 minute drive to Pugwash with a farmers' market on Saturdays, a grocery store, restaurants and bakery/cafe. There is also a convenience store about 3 minutes drive away which sells fresh bread, ice cream, wine/beer and gas. Pick local no-spray strawberries in July at NicNat Farm 10 minutes away. Enjoy local wine and cider at Jost Vineyards, Winegarden Estate and Vista Bella Farm, and play golf at Northumberland Links, Fox Harb'r Golf Resort and the Amherst Golf Club. Take a day trip to PEI, which is only an hour's drive from the cottage over the Confederation Bridge.
Northport is a small, peaceful community straddling the Shinimicas River and overlooking the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait. It has a wharf where lobster fishermen come in with the day's catch, as well as a boat launch. Both of these are a 5 minutes' walk from the cottage.
  • Nice and clean house, a lot of room for the 4 of us. All the appliances you'll need are available, including the BBQ. Katie was very helpful with good tips (restaurants, local groceries, farms, beaches, etc...). Definitely a good place to recommend !!

    Michael2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic clean and roomy place in a quiet location with modern appliances throughout, including washer and dryer. Would certainly recommend

    Anthony2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had wonderful time at Katie’s cottage. It is spacious and comfortable, close to great beaches, the little garden makes for very relaxing hangouts on the porch and the local tips were much appreciated. The communication was very easy and we felt at home and well taken care of. Additionally, the house is well suited for family (or two!) with children. We recommend Katie’s place without hesitation.

    Yulya2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to visit with a nice location, wonderful amenities and wonderful personal touches. We visited with our college aged daughter over Thanksgiving. It was perfect for a family gathering as it provided a comfortable place to gather together, visit, explore and cook! Katie responded quickly to all questions. She was a wonderful hostess.

    Katherine2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • My family of 6 and I visited for a wedding in Springhill. A couple of days before, the bride and her kids were stuck with no place to go (issues with their AirBnB). Katie was nice enough to allow us more guests and there was plenty of room to accommodate the 10 of us! An absolute adorable cottage. I don't think the pictures do it justice. It is much larger and cozier than I expected. The living area has enough space to accommodate a set up. She could probably add another seating area here. But it was a perfect area for us to set up the day's needs before heading out. There is no TV (which we did not miss) but there is wireless internet and plenty of board games in the closet. The main bathroom has a beach theme decor that is kept super clean. There is a large soaker tub to wash any stress away. There is plenty of basic supplies for use and were enough towels for each of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and was also stocked with the basics which was a life saver when we arrived, since it was late and didn't have time to shop before checking in. We were able to have a tea before bed and coffee in the morning. There was no need to rush out. The wrap around porch was a peaceful place to enjoy my coffee every morning and a great place for the adults to relax and converse at night. There is plenty of seating available including a rocking love seat. There was also a grill BBQ available but we didn'tuse it. Katie herself provided so much useful information. She was in constant communication whenever she was needed and provided a heads up on any anomalies that might come up. None of them did, nor do I feel they would've hindered our experience even if so. My family enjoyed our time so much we are debating on returning next year!

  • I’ve been many places and always have great experiences in people’s homes. Romeo and Delia are no less than the sweetest and kindest, and I have been blessed with a great number of awesome hosts all across the country. It was just like visiting my living family members and I hated to leave the warmth of the wood stove and the pleasure of their smile and kind welcome. Highly recommend you stay in one of their rooms. I’ll be back, for sure.

  • warm welcome and deeply human, the feeling of arriving in good friends, I will return regularly. This house breathes love and music

    Serge2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Super-friendly and very sociable couple have some comfy rooms in the nicely-finished basement of their lovely country home outside of Shediac. I particularly appreciated the many and various hospitality touches: slippers, night lights, pen and pad for your desk, coffee maker pre-loaded and ready for your morning breakfast, etc. All this tells me that Roméo and Delia are REALLY good at what they do and their home is quite suitable for longer stays because they’ll make you feel like family before not too long.

    Michael2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Romeo's place is located at the edge of the city, just 10 mins from Shediac. The sally c-store which is 3 mins away usually has the cheapest fuel around, and I heard they do lunches at a good price too In the day, it's really easy to find the place, during the night however, you will have to slow down as you approach the house and the gps brings you to the driveway which you will have to turn in after arrival Very clean and well maintained The highlights I felt was the wood stove. When the temperatures are low and it's time to warm up the house, sitting beside the fire place watching the outside is a wonderful way to relax Overall a feeling of staying with a Canadian family, understanding the culture first hand. Beautiful

Come stay in our cozy seaside self-catering apartment, right next to the ocean. We are ideally located on the Acadian Route within at most a half an hour from Moncton, Shediac, Sackville, the Confederation bridge and PEI, and any number of local beaches. Return home to a cool, air-conditioned interior after a day in the sun and enjoy the view of the Shemogue harbour and inlet while you plan your next day's activities.
The apartment is friendly, sunny, and spacious. You'll have the entire space all to yourself. Part of an old farmhouse built in the mid 1800's, the apartment was recently renovated and converted for your comfort. We restored the lofty ceilings for a comfortable farmhouse feeling. Most of the original trimmings and cupboards have been restored and reused. Powder blue and white interiors give the apartment a seaside cottage ambience. Lots of east facing windows provide early morning sunshine and a cheerful, sunny interior. The two bedrooms, bathroom, open-plan living-room, kitchen, and breakfast nook makes this a no-brainer when compared with a single hotel room at a higher price.
Shemogue is a small hamlet on the Acadian Route about halfway between Moncton and the Confederation Bridge. The population is mostly French Acadian, but everyone here speaks fluent English as well, something unique about our province. The main industry of the area is fishing, lobster, scallops, prawns, herring, cod, and various other seafood. Smokehouses dot the coastline, and our nearby town, Cap-Pelé even has a smokehouse museum! Several beaches along our coast make this a popular summer destination for vacationers. You would be surprised at the number of attractions and natural beauty spots you will find within a short distance from our centrally located vacation apartment!

    Gillian2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Handie's place is very spacious, clean and located strategically (close to two very nice beaches, Aboiteau and Murray). As soon as you get there, you feel calm, relaxed and well. It is also possible to befriend two very nice cats (they do not come into the apartment, so no worries at all if you have allergies) if it's something you would consider.) A great place to unwind!

You are close to many of the public beaches and only about 20 minutes away from the town of Amherst to get everything you will need for your stay. Elke made everything easy! A stop at the Winegarden Estate is a must!

    Lindsey2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Elke's place was just what we wanted: quaint, rural, and peaceful. Close to some lovely beached and provincial parks, but also not too far a drive from the bigger towns. Elke provides great tips on the area and even let us use her fire pit. Amazing stay!

    Stef2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • My dog and I had a fantastic time at Elke’s cottage! It was exactly what we were looking for: a place with a big garden close to the water! The place is close (1,5 h to Prince Edward Island and 2,5 h from Fundy National Park) to many great places, and also has a beach right in front and a country store very close by. This unique beachfront property is a 1908 country church converted into a charming cottage. Situated on a private beach on the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait, this getaway features country and beach living at its best. The sanctuary serves as the living space while maintaining the serenity of its original purpose. There is a separate, modern kitchen and 3 bedrooms as well as a large bunk area which kids love. The large deck and gazebo look toward the ocean, perfect for summer nights.
The church offers a large and comfortable space for enjoying time with family while offering the amenities of home. Situated on a large, beachfront property with acres of space for the family to play. There is also a large deck and screened-in gazebo overlooking the ocean. NOTE REGARDING COVID-19: Because of the size of the church and property, and the rural setting, this truly is the perfect family getaway during this crisis. Your family can be isolated if this remains a requirement. And, while we always maintain a “sparkling clean” property, we have taken the added step of implementing the Airbnb disinfection process between guests so you can be assured of your family’s peace of mind. Further, there is ample space and internet service should one or more of our guests need to work during their stay. Normally, our summer rentals (mid June to Labour Day) are weekly only from Saturday to Saturday. This summer, we will consider bookings for longer periods and for checkin / checkout on a different day than Saturday.
This is a quiet rural area surrounded by the ocean, farms and forest. Nearby walking trails, several beaches, farmers markets, fish markets, a winery and local cafe, as well as nearby access to PEI and Nova Scotia's Sunrise Trail. https://www.todaysparent.com/family/20-great-canadian-summer-getaways/
  • What an amazing space! Thank you Stephen and Chris for the amazing week, we could not be happier that we chose your gorgeous church as our resting spot for the first week of our Maritime vacation! The space itself surpassed our hopes: original, cozy, beautifully appointed and equipped, impeccably clean (not to mention the sofas that are nap-dangerous!). The location on the private beach allowed for morning and evening long walks (we saw seals, bald eagles, osprey and hawks not to mention a curious rabbit) with our dog Birdy, the large lawn and Adirondack chairs were perfect for evening cocktails taking in the spectacular sunsets sunset views with a fire in the fire pit or on the beach and the quiet and stars in the evening were just stunning (and made for the best night's sleep)! The area itself proved itself an amazing exploration ground, and we took in all of your recommendations that made our stay even more special, huge thanks! We bought lobster down the road (amazing - and your cooking instructions were impeccable!), oysters and crab legs at the fishery, walked the trails at Cape Jourimain, had the best fish and chips and fried shrimp at Aboiteau wharf, and had amazing lunches at One Fish Bistro (their seafood chowder is delicious) and Le Chat Bleu. We also did quite a bit of cycling, the Great Trail from Cape Jourimain to Baie Verte and back is a good 64 kilometers and made room for all of the amazing meals we ate! It's a small miracle that you did not have to evict us at the end of our stay as we would have gladly stayed on longer! Many thanks for the beautiful memories and for sharing your lovely slice of this earth!

  • I stayed for a week with 3 adults and 4 children and the house, hosts, location and weather were exceptionnal. To have a beach with no one on it AND warm water is a very unique experience. I would go back again and again!

  • This is the AirBnB and its best. An absolutely delightful Church converted into very comfortable living space. A very well-equipped kitchen, well-stocked with kitchen supplies, soft, comfortable beds, very clean. The owners live next door and responded to every question immediately and came over to say welcome. A short drive to PEI but also a lovely place to relax.

  • We had a lovely time. Great property and Stephen was an incredibly helpful host. Thank you!!

  • Even in the dead of winter, Stephen was a fantastic host, and the property more than measured up with the photos and description. We had some special requests, and Stephen accommodated them all. A great escape that we'd recommend to anyone! You should feel confident booking this location.

The Inn Cottage is a waterfront property. It sits on a small bank with a beautiful view of the sea. The beach is perfect for exploring at low tide. It is accessed by a set of stairs onsite. You can literally walk for miles on the ocean floor when the tide is out. In the summer the water is warm enough to swim at high tide. While the cottage maintains its rustic charm, it is up-to-date with most modern conveniences including WiFi, Satellite TV, a dishwasher and a whirlpool tub. Please note however, it is truly a seasonal cottage. There is no insulation or air conditioning,… just the ocean breezes. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a gas BBQ grill but if you would like to dine out fine dining and hot breakfasts are available onsite (by reservation) just a short walk away.

  • What a treat to walk into a beautiful and clean place with everything you need. Even an umbrella for a rainy day! Trevor and Leanne were amazing hosts and made us feel right at home.

  • Awesome little beach flat - Walking distance to the beach and supplied with everything you need. Great hosts as well who still let us stay there when the power was knocked out from Hurricane Dorian.. Thanks for the great stay!

    Taylor2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Trevor. Very well located. Everything is new and very clean. It feels like home. The hosts are very welcoming. I recommend this loft to everyone.

  • Look no further than it's THE best Airbnb you'll ever find! It is very clean, it feels great, it is next to the beach (one of the most beautiful in NB and yesiiiii water is hot in late August is not a myth !!!) The hosts are very friendly, respond quickly, are good advice not to mention all the delicate attentions that awaited us on our arrival. In addition Shediac is a central point to stay a few days, almost all the beauties of NB are within reasonable distance to make visits to the day! We will definitely come back if we come back to the area! Again thank you for your welcome :-)

    Isabelle2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great for a small family. 5 minutes walk from Parlee beach. Superbly equipped, well decorated and excellent welcome. My best RBnB experience to date.

    Frederick2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! A beautiful stay in a loft quite new! Leanne and Trevor are great hospitable hosts. They made sure we were short of anything throughout the stay. Plus, the amenities available for baby are great. Clean and in very good condition, they made our life easier (high chair, trolley). The beach is within walking distance, just minutes away. Very quiet area, perfect for holidays :)

    Michael2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Trevor and Leanne. Within walking distance of Parlee Beach, the beach loft is the perfect place to stay in Shediac. In addition, the apartment is fully equipped if you travel with a young child (high chair, park, toys) and it is very safe (secure socket, barrier etc). Our hosts were more than attentive, small caterers were waiting for us when we arrived and wood was provided to make fires outside at night. The loft is unparalleled clean and all the accessories needed to make our life easier were available. I highly recommend staying there!

The CMTR Cottage is a waterfront property. It sits on a bluff offering a commanding view of the sea especially from the covered porch. It is accessed through the adjacent beach park. You can literally walk for miles on the ocean floor when the tide is out. In the summer the water is warm enough to swim at high tide. The house is beautiful, great location ( 2 minutes from the beach ) and we had a delicious breakfast in the morning. If you would like to spend time with real locals, Terry is your guy. And his dog ( Gabby ) is amazing.

  • Where to even begin with this review... the cabin is GORGEOUS!! Marc-Andre was such a kind, amazing host! He made sure we had everything we would need for our stay. The pictures are incredible but seeing it in person is really just breathtaking! There are trails right beside the property, and maps inside showing all the trails in the area. The cabin itself was huge, and had everything a cabin needs to make it cozy. There was a huge fire pit, and the porches on both sides of the house were huge and had everything you would need to enjoy the outdoors. We stayed for one night(we were moving cross country during COVID) but we truly wished we had been able to stay longer. We will definitely be coming back when travel restrictions are lifted! Thank you again for being such an amazing host Marc!

    Julia2020-05-01T00:00:00Z

My place is close to the airport, parks, art and culture, the city centre, and great views. You’ll love it because of the outdoors space, the comfy beds, and the light. The place is good for couples and business travellers. The bedrooms in this unit are upstairs. A semi private deck connects the two units of 365 Rustic Charm on Main Street; which would be possible for a larger family/group to book both places. Book each place separately for the same time period.
There are two upstairs bedrooms, the larger has a queen size Nova bed, the smaller has a comfortable double day bed. The stairs are called a New Brunswick accordion stair case, which is a bit steep. If you have mobility issues going up these stairs may be an issue. The bathroom is also upstairs, with tub and shower. The main floor comfortably seats four, with a well appointed eat in kitchen, which boasts a spectacular view of the Marsh. Both units are entire apartments not just a room. Each have full kitchens, and access to laundry.
The neighbourhood is country, there are three very well run dairy farms near by, a great nursery near by. A lake to swim in, a wonderful trail with brooks to sit by and day dream. The road to the lake is a public highway, some people smoke as they walk by, and some of that smoke will trail into the house depending on the wind, I have had guest ask me about that, I don't allow smoking in the units, I can't do much for the people walking on the street. The Units are in and around working dairy farms, I have had guests asked about certain smells in the bathroom, if the wind come in the right directions there will be some dairy smell from the cows, again I cannot control this either!

  • An accomadation which feels like your home. Large rooms, high ceilings, lots of windows, in-suite dryer/washer, comfortable beds, freshly renovated interior in a quiet area by the beach. Owner is friendly and responsive to all your questions. Would reccomend.
