The apartment is airy and open. There is a skylight and plenty of windows. The kitchen is well equiped. There are two portable cots available, most suited for children. The back yard is spacious, has a picnic table and fire pit. There is an open pond, so young children must be supervised in the back yard.
Small point is a beautiful comminty in Phippsburg. Literally across the street and down the road a bit you will find many interesting things:
o The Small Point Summer School - this is a pay by the day Day Camp for tennis, sailing and general fun
o Morse Mountain is a an area for easy hiking. The views from the top are spectacular ( you can look back at the apartment from there) and if you hike far enough ( not that far) you will end up at a very secluded and beautiful sandy ocean beach)
o Just before Morse Mt is Egret Pond. Guess what you can see there! You can lanch a kayak from there at all but low tide and paddle into Small Point Harbor
o Edgewater farms is aboout two miles down the road. This is a nice place for vegtables, some supplies and great lunches
o Two miles in the other direction is Hermit Island Campground and Head Beach. Head Beach is a nice sandy beach with no waves. There is a great snack bar and at Hermit Island that will serve ance lunch and ice cream and snacks
o The Lobster House Resteraunt is also about a mile down the road. The serve tyoical Maine faire and drinks. Don't miss the bumbleberry pie!
o And if all that wasn't enough, you are only 4 miles from Popham Beach, Popham Village, Fort Popham and Fort Baldwin and the great fishing of the Kennebec River
