Light, airy double room with King size bed, ensuite, balcony, wifi & tv, coffee/tea tray & mini fridge. Beach and Pier at the end of the road; good restaurants, pubs, cafes, modern shopping centre, theatres, railway station, all walking distance. Free street parking. Cereal/toast/fruit breakfast included.
The perfect Seaside escape! The house is on a busy thoroughfare to the beach in the heart of Eastbourne's tourist area. Once you step off the street into the house it's a quiet, peaceful retreat yet with everything you need on the doorstep. Comfort is a priority with top quality mattresses, feather and down duvets, and bedlinen that is freshly home laundered.
Everything is nearby within easy walking distance. Just park the car and enjoy all that Eastbourne has to offer. The great thing about our area is convenience - great pubs, restaurants, beach cafes are all on our doorstep and of course the beach itself is just at the end of the road. It's a clean pebble beach with miles of sand at low tide - ideal for an early morning walk and for families (other rooms available on request).
  • We had a fantastic stay with Cheryl, who is very friendly but not intrusive. The house and rooms are lovely and well appointed. The shower was excellent and breakfast delicious! Cheryl provided lots of useful information about the local area and there are some great restaurants nearby, as well as the seafront being at the end of the road. Fantastic and highly recommended. Thank you Cheryl!

  • This was our second overnight stay at Cheryl's house in the lovely seaside resort of Eastbourne. We were booked into the same large, clean, bright and airy ensuite room as previously and found all the extensive facilities the same but with the addition of a mini fridge filled with milk and bottled water and some of Cheryl's wonderful home made shortbread to welcome us. In the morning we enjoyed one of Cheryl's cooked breakfasts, complete with a cafetière of fresh coffee for my husband Paul and a pot of tea for me. Our visit was made complete with some nice sunny weather and we enjoyed a walk along Eastbourne's traditional Victorian pier and then along the promenade into the town with a variety of pubs, eateries and traditional fish and chips. We would highly recommend Cheryl's home to anyone visiting Eastbourne or the surrounding area.

  • Cheryl was a wonderful host. We got a nice English breakfeast. The room is very clean and lovely and big with a comfortable bath. Her house is also close to the sea, so you can take a walk there anytime. I highly recommend her room!

  • Cheryl's house is lovely and perfectly situated to get around Eastbourne and for access to the South Downs. She was very welcoming and went out of her way to provide gluten-free products for breakfast.

  • Everything was wonderful. The location, the room, the breakfast. Cheryl is a great host, who is welcoming and accommodating

  • We had a great stay in Eastbourne, Cheryl’s Home couldn’t have been more perfect. Great location. Fabulous room with king size bed and luxury bedding! Cheryl was a fabulous host, lovely to talk to and very helpful. We would definitely book again if we were to come back to the area!

  • My partner and I absolutely loved our stay with Cheryl in Eastbourne. Cheryl's home is beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The room is bright and airy with a great shower. Hearing the sound of the sea-gulls first thing in the morning was just what we needed to recharge our batteries! Cheryl is a magnificent host and prepared a lovely fried breakfast, as well as a selection of cereals, tea/coffee and orange juice each morning. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for a great weekend of exploring around Eastbourne and the surrounding areas. Thank you Cheryl - we'd love to stay with you again!

  • Staying in Jason's house was a pleasure: Quick access to the beach, lovely surrounding area in Sovereign Habour, good Restaurants and a good starting place for our daily trips. The house is really clean with a modern and friendly style.

    Doris2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place provides everything you could need when away from home. All the luxury of a hotel with all the space of a family home. Plenty of bathrooms and comfortable bed's, fluffy towels, 2 cosy settee's where we all snuggled up and watched films on the MASSIVE television! It's a great base from which to explore the local area.

    Ella2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect house in a brilliant location with no faults! Great communication throughout the stay and a few texts throughout the week to ensure everything was good. Thank you Jason!

    Moya2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous few days staying in Jason's house! We all loved the really comfy beds, and being a short walk from the sea and harbour was brilliant. The house was ideally situated for trips out but with lots of local amenities. Jason was a great host and was really helpful when communicating before and during our stay; the welcome pack was excellent! The house was spotlessly clean and we would definitely stay again. Thank you Jason!

You will have a fully refurbished private boutique apartment, with a comfortable bedroom/living room, kitchen, shower room and use of our secluded garden. We are only 20 metres from the beach and Pevensey Bay has good road, rail and bus connections. There is easy parking in our private road. The apartment has 24 hour hot water, a fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. We also provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk. Please let us know in advance if you require towels.
As you can see from the photos, we are lucky enough to live on the beach. The apartment has a bedroom/lounge with a small but well equipped kitchen. The kitchen and shower room have underfloor heating. There is a small convex heater if the bedroom gets chilly and also a fan if it gets too warm! Please feel free to use our pretty walled garden, to enjoy a glass of wine or sit and eat and if you're cooking, feel free to help yourself to any of our fresh herbs growing in the garden. There is a Samsung Smart tv, with Freeview, Netflix etc. The internet connection is good, usually 20Mps.
If you don't want to cook, there are some great places to eat nearby. Pevensey Bay itself has a small selection of shops in the village, a short walk away, but there is an Asda 5 minutes drive from the house. All the major supermarkets deliver to our address. This area is a 'foodies' paradise and there are a number of very good farm shops nearby. Although we are located on the beach, to the rear of the house is a lovely half hour walk through fields to historic Pevensey Castle. Pevensey Bay and Pevensey itself have a number of pubs which serve food and have live music on a regular basis. At the end of our road there is one of the best curry houses in Sussex! Eastbourne itself has it's famous seafront and pier, the Towner Gallery, three theatres and a newly modernised town centre. If you're looking for something a bit more cosmopolitan, Brighton offers the famous lanes, Royal Pavillion and many other attractions. Bexill has the Delaware Pavillion and Hastings the historic fishermans wharf. There are stunning walks along the South Downs for all walking abilities, and Beachy Head speaks for itself. Royal Sovreign Harbour is about half an hours walk away and has a variety of restaurants and shops. Living on the beach, we are lucky to experience the sea in all its forms, from extremely low tides, to very high storms! It is an ideal location for windsurfers, kite surfers and paddleboarders. There are also a couple of fishing charter boats that run out of the harbour or a spot of gentle fishing off the beach is very relaxing. During the summer months there are regular evening concerts at the Bandstand on Eastbourne seafront and also a Pevensey Bay carboot sale on a Sunday, ten minutes walk from the house and regular farmers markets in both Eastbourne and Bexhill.
  • Steve & Sarah were fantastic hosts. The apartment is clean and modern throughout! Banging Shower and relaxing Garden! Literally a Stones throw away from the beach, with stunning views! Perfect Relaxing weekend getaway! Fantastic Selection of food available: Raipur Curry House, Cafe's, fish and chips! Overall stay 14.75/10

    Dennis2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to the beach and ideal for a quiet relaxing get away. Great facilities, and the hosts are really friendly. I especially liked the map of local points of interest they had made. The curry house at the end of the road is definitely worth a try!

  • Staying here was brilliant! A perfect little place of paradise ..... Lovely finishing touches like the personalised map on the wall of what’s around, flowers, and a bottle of processco in the fridge. Very friendly and helpful hosts who were around if needed. Extra towels and beach towel were provided which was absolutely fab and so thoughtful. Would definitely come back here again

    Natalie2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Sarah were very welcoming and helpful and the apartment was beautiful and cozy with high quality brand new furnishings. Nice hot shower and comfy bed! Plus a beautiful garden. Can't go wrong! Also, don't miss Raipur's Curry House while you're there!

  • One of the best airbnbs we have ever stayed at. Great location, 10 second walk from the beach. Cosy room, very nicely decorated, everything looks brand new. Steve the host was very friendly and helpful. The Indian restaurant around the corner was excellent but gets very busy. We got lucky and got the last available table, but probably best to book in advance.

    Chris2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Location is fantastic - literally right on the beach. The area is quiet with a small local shops/restaurants. There are larger shops etc. a short drive away. The apartment is compact but has a full kitchen with microwave, hob, oven, washing machine and dryer - and a blissful shower with excellent pressure. The only thing that is missing is a place to eat dinner indoors when its wet outside, or a desk space (as the place would make a lovely writing retreat location). Steve and Sarah were very responsive on text, and Sarah welcomed us when we arrived. This is the perfect place to get some quiet time by the beach. Would happily stay again.

    Zoe2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoy staying in the your beach apartment and thought that the accommodation was very comfortable, well equipped and just what we wanted. Thank you, Mike and Sue

    Michael2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is a wonderful space with a lovely garden area and just steps from lovely Pevensey Bay beach. It's beautifully designed with lots of art and objects that really make the space so unique. Steve and Sarah were friendly and helpful hosts and the map of the local area that they've designed gives all the information you could need. There is a small but well stocked kitchen and it's the perfect place for a weekend stay. The location is great for Eastbourne and the surrounding area with good transport links (99 bus from Eastbourne stops at the bottom of the road). We had a really relaxing stay and were so sad to leave!

  • Property located in a fantastic location and it was clean and tidy. The only negative was the street parking as there isn’t a driveway and it’s a busy street being located so close to the pier/main road. 4 of us stayed at this property but additional duvets were not provided for the ones who slept on the sofa bed and settee. Otherwise all in all, a great stay

My place is close to the beach and family-friendly activities. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Perfect for a relaxed getaway or sightseeing the local historic countryside. The harbour/marina has many restaurants, cinema, bars & shops just a few minutes walk away, Eastbourne town a short drive or pleasant seaside walk. Please note: This listing is for a double room, not the entire apartment.
Double bedroom with TV, wifi, en-suite toilet/shower room & own balcony. Kitchen available 24/7 for tea/coffee etc, but not cooking. Lounge/dining area available for breakfast, or the main balcony in summer.
Situated on Sovereign Harbour, the largest marina in northern Europe, apparently. Waterfront area with restaurants, bars, shops, cinema & of course, the beach.
  • My friend and I had a great time staying with Les. He is a lovely host who was very helpful , kind and easy to get along with. His apartment is very bright, clean and modern with several balconies and a view over the sea. Our room was also provided with a TV, free wifi, clean towels and soap. Breakfast (Muffins, toast, crumpets, juice, tea, coffee, etc.) was included . The apartment is located right at the sea / beach a little bit out of town but there are several busses that will take you directly to Eastbourne center. We will definitely come back on future vacations if we get a chance.

    Iti2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Les's apartment, which was extremely clean, stylish and the view was great. It is in a great location for the harbour restaurants and only a few miles from Eastbourne which you must visit for a lovely walk along the beach and gardens. • Tony was there to greet us on arrival, showing us everything we needed to know for the cottage and what to do locally, pubs, walks etc... As the photographs suggest, the cottage is lovely in all ways, spacious, modern and chic. Getting to the coast is very easy with lots of amenities nearby. We had a lovely break and can't recommend the cottage highly enough.

    Stephen2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was a welcoming host and the cottage was as we expected from the pictures. Lovely and and spacious with a very well equipped kitchen. The power shower was fantastic and we loved the super king sized bed. Lovely countryside nearby with a fab pub The Lamb within walking distance of the cottage. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it to others.

  • i enjoyed my stay and will be there next year. it is a very spacious appartment. thumbs up

    A2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We found the accommodation as bare minimum as possible so they can make money from as little effort as possible. These were clearly holiday let properties that have just been listed on airBNB keeping the old fashioned 'we can get away with it feel'. There was no had soap and for a place that can sleep four, there was only enough hot water for one shower and a lukewarm bath... the view of the sea is great. It that is as far as it goes.

One of five beautifully refurbished seafront apartments. Perfectly located opposite the beach and just a short stroll along the promenade to Eastbourne's famous pier, theatres and town centre. All apartments are ensuite, have a private kitchen, comfortable living area, flat-screen TV, DVD player, DAB radio and there is excellent WiFi too. Beds are fully made up using professionally laundered, crisp white bed linen, sumptuous mattress toppers, cosy duvets and guests have a choice of pillows.
Beachside 3 is a beautiful seafront apartment where you can lie in bed and listen to the waves and curl up on the sofa to take in the amazing panoramic views of the sea and the East Sussex coastline. The kitchen-diner has a balcony where you can have breakfast overlooking the beach and the stylish, double bedded sitting room, with its high ceiling and large stained-glass bay window, is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The kitchen has an oven, grill, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle and all the pots, pans and crockery that you will need. The living area has a 32” flat-screen TV with DVD player and there is a free DVD library should you wish to have a cosy night-in and watch a movie. The bed is a double with a good quality mattress, sumptuous mattress topper, a cosy duvet and a choice of pillows. Our apartments are the perfect choice for seaside getaways, family holidays and for anyone working or studying away from home. They have all been designed to comfortably accommodate two people but children and additional adults are very welcome to stay as well. For a small charge we can prepare a Jay-Be fold-away bed, with extra linen and towels, for a third person.
What can we say, we love Eastbourne and that’s coming from two born and bred Londoners. You just need to step outside our front door and you are presented with a panoramic view of the East Sussex coastline. But there is far more to Eastbourne than just its wonderful beach, famous pier, tennis tournament and air show. The Towner Gallery, five theatres (and a bandstand) means there is always something on and throughout the year Eastbourne hosts contemporary art exhibitions, West End musicals, plays, ballet, comedy acts and live bands. For the more adventurous, we are nestled on the edge of the South Downs National Park and Beachy Head, so there are plenty of coastal walks, country rambling and cycling routes to discover and something for all ages and abilities. With so many visitors, Eastbourne has lots of great restaurants and bars that cater for all budgets and tastes. Do come and speak to us as we are always happy to share ‘local knowledge’ on where to find the finest curry, the best cocktail, or even the fish and chip shop that we locals use; and no, it is not Harry Ramsdens on the seafront!! When you do want to cook, there is a local Sainsburys just around the corner, a huge Tesco Extra supermarket less than a mile away and every other major supermarket within a 2-3 mile radius, all of whom can deliver to our address if required. Eastbourne also holds a weekly farmers market, continental markets along the sea front, and there are some excellent farm shops on the outskirts of town.
  • We stayed in Beachside 3 and could't have found a better apartment overlooking the sea. The apartment was stylish and cosy with everything needed for a comfortable stay. John was very helpful and informative and made our stay a memorable one. Parking was easy and the town centre is just a short walk away.

  • Beautiful flat overlooking the coast in Eastbourne - John and Emma were incredibly accomodating, very kind and helpful with any big or small question we had! The flat itself has a small balcony to overlook the coast, the bed comfortable and clean, and a cool TV space to watch in the evening as the night sets in. Can't recommend this place enough, especially as the price was very reasonable and the hosts were the best we've ever had - and I've been using Airbnb for years!

    Robbie2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely lovely! The hosts John and Emma were super helpful and are a very lovely and kind couple. The apartment was a cute, clean, cosy and refreshing place to stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and bright. We loved the balcony as it made the sea view even better! It is located very close to Eastbourne centre and has many roads around the apartment to park. It is also a 20 minute walk to the train station which was helpful when we went to Brighton for the day. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely trip away to Eastbourne and wants a cosy easily accessible place to stay! Thank you John and Emma for the wonderful stay! :)

Well behaved pets by prior arrangement additional one off cleaning charge £5. Light self service breakfast tea and coffee included for first night Television with freesat and WiFi. Located in rural area on small farm, with neighbouring farms, fishing lakes and riding school close by, possibility to bring your own horse, short drive to South Downs, Abbots Wood and Arlington reservoir.
  • For the price the decor inside was good value for money. Issues on arrival were the musty/mouldy smell and a dirty sheet and the 'reaction' of the host when told. The skylight does not have a blackout/blind so you wake up at first light. Only one chair to watch TV. We would not stay there again.

  • Sue was a great host, she was very informative with regards to the numerous amenities within her spacious and well equipped accommodation. There was a plentiful variety of help yourself breakfast food as well as tea, coffee and milk. The farm setting I liked as I prefer a rural environment but it is not too far away from local amenities. Thank you Sue for a great stay and I look forward to returning in the summer months.

  • Really enjoyed our stay. Compact but well formed annex, really lovely touches with breakfast and so impressed with the heating over our cold Easter weekend, very cosy! Will be recommending to friends visiting the area.

  • We really enjoyed it, very clean, well thought out place. There is tea, coffee, butter, some bread for toast and even some towels for when you use the shower. The bed is really comfortable and the duvet is warm. No need to worry about being cold as there is a good heating system and if you need it there is a gas heater too. If I ever rent out a place for airbnb. I would like to know whom she received advice from. Beautiful area to say the least too. We are hoping to visit again next month

Very large, comfortable, bright apartment in one of the most sought after streets in Eastbourne. Great access to seafront, South Downs and the town centre. Bedroom 2 can be configured as a twin bedroom or a double (kingsize).
Guests have access to large lounge , bathroom ( separate shower and bath), toilet, fully equipped kitchen( with breakfast bar) and two bedrooms.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and pleasant. There is a local pub and a whole variety of restaurants and bars in the town, just a short walk away. We recommend Cru for a good evening out, whether for dinner or drinks, but you will need to book ahead! We are very close to both the South Downs for those that enjoy walking and the beach. There is a friendly watersports centre called Buzz Active for those who fancy trying their hand at dinghy sailing, windsurfing or paddleboarding.
  • A very beautiful spacious apartment with a fantastic host.

  • What a lovely comfortable flat. Masses of space - all newly decorated and immaculate, including a very well equipped kitchen. We had a great few days walking on the beautiful South Downs and Jan and Christopher's place is wonderful to return to after a long day's walking. Thank you for a lovely stay.

    David2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Christopher and Jan's apartment exceeded our expectations. It is a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures and is wonderfully bright and airy. It was also immaculate and very clean - it was clear real care was taken to get it ready for our stay. Christopher and Jan were very friendly and approachable. All in all we had a fantastic stay.

    Lauren2018-09-28T00:00:00Z

Big studio flat with a double bed and a double foldable sofa bed. We are right on the beach front, only few minutes walk from Eastbourne Pier. You’ll love the location, super fast access to the beach and homely feel. This is a ground floor flat with high speed internet and TV, a self contained kitchenette and a private bathroom with a washer. My place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and friends.
The apartment is located on the very sea front, one minute walk from the best ice cream parlour in Eastbourne, only 12 mins walk from the station and 5-6 minutes walk to the main high street. There are couple of supermarkets around the house and many nice restaurants.

  • I had a bad experience with my first Airbnb stay in Toronto my stay here totally renewed my faith. The ground floor apartment has some home comforts is well kept and even has a washing machine. If you are quick you can get free parking outside on the residential road or pay just £4 a day to park on the many roads around the apartment. The seafront is opposite and loads of shops. The most important thing is the host is lovely, thoughtful, accommodating, accessible and reliable so all in all a great place to stay close to all the great sites in Eastbourne town and safe and secure. Thanks Didi

  • Roma is a very good host. Very helpful with advice and goes out of her way to ensure that you have a pleasant visit. Very spacious room on the third floor of a huge house. May not be suitable for people who have problems with a lot of stairs. Very nice private bathroom located one floor down below the bedroom. Good location near the train station. About ten minutes walk to the train and 25 minutes to the pier. A very friendly dog lives in the house that dog-lovers will enjoy playing with. Breakfast of cereal, toast, tea or coffee and fruit included. Access to the kitchen is available to prepare other meals if you wish. Overall a very good value for the money.

  • Roma's house is very central to the train station and easy to walk to the local Eastbourne shops. The room has 4 large velux windows which makes the room feel light and bright. The room is on the top floor of a beautiful house and is very private. Thanks Roma for a lovely stay! Love Katrina & Damien xo

    Katrina & Damien2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Roma's place was I think one of the most beautiful houses I could stay in. Not only building but also the design of the rooms was in point, making me feel like in home but also allowing me to be in the marvellous surroundings. I didn't mind dog and cats as I am a animal lover anyway. They were definitely adorable. The whole stay was as on photos and as described. Everything was clean and private bathroom is a really something I didn't expect (probably didn't read it :D) but that's more than great. At night it was quiet even though the location is very much in centre. Breakfast food was more I could handle - plenty to choose! Since I was only for one night, I didn't manage to talk more to Roma but she seems very nice and open person. I highly recommend the stay! Thank you, Roma :)

    Justyna2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Roma is a lovely host! The house is gorgeous, bathroom really clean and bed comfy :) also she has a lovely cat :p would highly recommend!

  • A beautiful home!!! Didn’t stay very long but could easily imagine what a great base this place would be for exploring Eastbourne!

  • You must like cats and dogs because there are 2 cats and a lovely black lab named izzy and they are residents. they are friendly and not a bother but they will want to greet you and make themselves known. What we loved was the rooms were enormous with high ceilings and the house has great Edwardian character to it with stained glass windows and beautiful wood work. The electrics and plumbing have all been updated so no problem on those fronts. There is a TV room if you choose to watch. When the weather is nice there is also a garden with patio furniture. You could easily invite your family to visit and Roma would be willing to let you have them over. Roma is a treasure of a host. She loves people and is very outgoing easy to talk with and willing to help you.

    Les2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to town and the train station. Lot of places to eat nearby too. Our room was in the loft and hence there was quite a climb. There is also no door to the apartment and just a curtain. Neither bothered us, so we were okay. She was very thoughtful to weigh down the curtain with books so her cats don't come in before we check in. The room was very bright and clean. Tea coffee was provided in the room. The bed was very comfortable and her very affectionate cat came to greet us in the morning. :) She was adorable. Roma was very responsive and welcoming. Her house was beautiful and well decorated. There was also delicious breakfast of healthy bread and cereal. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here next time.

The Stables is a converted self-catering cottage in what was the original stables and coach house of Boreham House bed and breakfast and is ideal for couples or families. Inside the cottage the accommodation has been renovated to a very high standard while retaining much of the original character. The cottage is set in beautiful East Sussex countryside within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
On the ground floor of the Stables there is an open plan living / dining room and kitchen, a bathroom with both a bath and a separate walk-in shower, and the main bedroom with double bed. Upstairs there is a second bedroom in what was the hayloft of the stables which has twin beds, although this can also be configured as a superking double bed if required. The beds all have sumptuous handmade pocket sprung mattresses and luxurious Egyptian linen and towels are provided. The living room and both bedrooms have flat screen HD TVs. and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the cottage. Doors lead from the living area to a patio where there is a table and chairs, two sun recliners and a barbeque. There is also access from the patio to the extensive gardens and grounds of the house that guests are welcome to use and enjoy throughout their stay.
Boreham Street, the village in which the Stables is based, is on a ridge and has amazing views to the sea to the south and over the High Weald to the north. The Stables is ideally situated for exploring all that this area has to offer. We are within a 20 minute drive of Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill and Battle is even nearer. Brighton and Rye take about 40 minutes to get to. We are also lucky enough to have a number of historic sites close by - this is 1066 country, where the Battle of Hastings took place and there are a number of castles to visit. Sissinghurst gardens, Great Dixter and Pashley Manor are also within easy reach, as is the South Downs National Park, particularly the Seven Sisters cliffs and Beachy Head. There is a great deal to keep children amused as well - Drusilla's zoo, Knockhatch, Blackberry Farm, Treasure Island and the miniature railway at Eastbourne are all popular. There is so much to see and do, but also many opportunities to just relax and enjoy your stay.
  • We had a fantastic time at the stables. Sara and Simon were great hosts, a really beautiful homely venue, with great touches like fresh flowers, along milk and wine in the fridge! Communication was great with lots of tips on places to go. Having 2 seven year olds we were ideally located for Eastbourne, Hastings, and Drusillas. A great time had by all we would definitely go back.

  • Dear Sara and Simon, Thank you for such a lovely stay at The Stables. We’d love to come back again, as we found the property very clean, cosy and tidy. The little touches like the milk in the fridge and bottle of wine we’re reallt thoughtful and made us feel very welcome. We found you both very helpful and friendly! We’ll be sure to come back again. • What an absolutely fantastic place to stay! Very spacious and cozy flat, perfect for 2 people. The location is great, with the seafront just a few meters from the front door. The flat was very clean when we arrived and everything worked the way it was supposed to. The value of this accommodation overall is nothing short of excellent. We even decided to stay an extra night because we loved it so much!

The flat itself is very clean and comfortable, ideal for a couple. The price was good too, real value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

  • Leah’s flat is great for somewhere accessible and easy to wander around Eastbourne. My boyfriend and I wanted somewhere central and near the beach and this flat was perfect. Nice and comfy place, and super easy to find and access thanks to Leah’s messages and instructions. There were a few core items that would have been super handy; hair dryer, milk - some little items that would have been useful to have, but apart from those bits it was well stocked, and nice thoughtful touches like biscuits and tea bags. Would recommend to anyone after somewhere clean, comfy and central to go explore by the beach.

    Joey2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay as described and I couldn’t complain one bit! If you like to sit beside the seaside this is the place!

  • Great place for a weekend at the beach!

    Juergen2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our Stay at Leah's place was okay. However, we have overseen the fact that the check-in is at 4 PM and check out 10 am, which doesn't make much sense, to be honest. When we asked 3 times in advance (weeks before) whether we can drop off our luggage at the place so we could hike, no clear reply was received until the very last minute, literally. This brings me to the next point: Cleanliness. The reason why we couldn't get a clear answer whether we can drop off our luggage there was "the cleaning lady". But the sad truth is that the apartment was not clean. At the end Leah allowed us to get in the apartment 2 hours before 4 pm (yet the fact that we couldn't have an answer, standing at the main station with no place to drop/lock our luggage and many calls unanswered, was not really nice). We didn't meet Leah personally but when she communicated with us, she sounded nice and she organized the check-in remotely very clearly. The apartment is very nice and greatly located. I would recommend it for people who don't mind the check-in/out times and who don't require 5-starts-rating-cleanliness.

  • Well located flat for access to beach and walks along Costal footpaths.

  • This is a great place to stay at! Great location, quite big, very pleasant and extremely clean!! The lovely garden at the back is also perfect for breakfasts in the sun. Small thing to note if you are a light sleeper, we could hear the neighbours up stairs a little. Other then that, perfect! Leah as been a champion in communication and fresh towels, soap and else were waiting for us. Thanks Leah.

  • Mary and her husband were wonderful hosts - very welcoming and full of helpful tips about the local area. The Oak Room itself is a lovely bright space and was immaculately clean for our arrival. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others!

    Jenny2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Paul are some of the nicest people you would be privileged to encounter. They went the extra mile to ensure that we had a comfortable stay, gave us excellent tips on local eats and activities worth a look. Their home on the other hand was other worldly and absolutely stunning... the bed was comfy and the shower was nice and hot. The oak home was filled with wall outlets and the temperature stayed nice and cozy in there 24/7. Perfect for a couples weekend getaway!

    Dillon2018-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great private space to relax and enjoy some peace. Loved The Oak Room! Thanks Mary!!!

  • What an amzing place! So peaceful and so relaxing, it was just what myself and my partner needed after having hectic lifestyles in the City all week. Spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings, very helpful and pleasant hosts. Some lovely pubs nearby and some lovely walks. Couldnt have asked for a better weekend away. Many thanks Mary and Paul. Perfect! Stace & Hannah

  • This was an absolutely brilliant find. The Oak Room looks as though it is fairly new and everything was spotless. We had all our needs met; soap, shampoo, tea, coffee facilities and the bed was lovely and comfy too. The Oak Room is situated in a quiet location and you will need a car to get around, but it was perfect for our visits to friends and family in Brighton, Uckfield and Hastings.

    Wendy2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Just as the photo - a super room with everything you'll need for calm and comfort.

    Sharon2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous lodge. Calm, quiet, stylish, spacious and spotlessly clean. We can't fault the hospitality, communication or level of comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable and the lodge is light and airy, yet very private. We found extra treats.. mini cakes, chocolate biscuits, good coffee and a range of herbal teas. We have used many Air BnB s, this one we will use again. Highly recommend.

    Carolyn2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The 0ak Room is wonderful for anyone wanting a country getaway. Thank you so much Mary & Paul for making us feel so welcome. The room is clean, comfy and homely - everything we could have wanted. The area has some fantastic pubs, the Red Lion and Lambs Inn were especially good. Definitely recommend a trip to The Plough and Harrow after a walk from Cuckmere Valley to Cuckmere Haven, and the walk from Birling Gap to Beachy Head and then onto East Bourne. Thank you so much both for a lovely little holiday.

However only a couple of miles away there is the Herstmonceux observatory with its science centre, a must for curious children and adults alike not only for daytime visits but also for evening viewings of the stars. There is also the Herstmonceux castle and the lottery aided restored windmill in the vicinity.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Coach House. The accommodation was great and very well located for the south coast, Brighton and surrounding countryside. Josephine was attentive and helpful, offering advice on the local attractions as well as checking in that we had everything we needed. The only downside was that our trip was over too soon.

    Peter2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Visited with a few friends for a weekend getaway. Josephine was really quick to respond and super helpful with a later check-in time. • My partner, 2 boys and I had a great 4 nights at Josephine's property. The listing was accurate; the property was clean and comfortable and well equipped. Importantly, the beds were comfortable and the en-suite shower one of the best I've experienced recently. The location is also very good as we were a short drive from the best East Sussex has to offer. Communication from Josephine was very prompt and friendly. Excellent value all round.

Communication with Nick was excellent. He kindly provided milk, cereal, juice, bread, butter, coffee and tea for breakfast and a folder full of information about the local ares and things to see and do in East and West Sussex. Beautifully converted Lodge with stunning sea views, lovely walks around the countryside and to the beach. The local village is very close by and offers a wonderful butcher, bakery and fishmongers.
The views and Lodge itself, beautifully renovated.
    Friendly and safe.
  • beautiful location & accommodation. would thoroughly recommend.

  • Incredible location and stunning views. The house is beautifully renovated and has a great mix of luxury mod cons with traditional beams and furniture. It's a great place to spend time and use as a base to see the historic sites located nearby We will definitely be back

    Lucy2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious, peaceful, with wide open views over the country side down to the coast. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, including the hilarious Guinea fowl.

    Janice2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay and get away from it all. A quiet, cosy getaway with beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. Only five minutes drive to the seafront too. Highly recommended!

  • We have just returned home from a lovely weekend stay at Cara’s place. The views are beautiful from this peaceful location, which is a modern barn conversion. Within easy reach of Hastings Eastbourne and Brighton.

    Helen2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, out of the way and close to the sea. Place very nice and really good value. A lot bigger than we thought based on the pictures. Loved the wildlife around the place. Would definitely stay again.

    Rebecca2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Cara's lodge. The views are stunning and the cottage is spacious and cosy. Cara has been a great host and responded quickly to all of our questions. The only downside was that there were a few of the finishing touches missing that we would have expected for the price per night as the cottage could have been a little bit cleaner and slightly better equipped (additional tea towels or bin bags weren't provided, no cafetière or coffee maker and a few other bits were missing too). However, we still had a brilliant and relaxing time at the cottage and would definitely go back.

Excellent central location minutes walk away from the seafront, Eastbourne’s theatres, art gallery, the tennis, and the town centre. Charming flat, in Grade II listed building, recently re-decorated – perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
The apartment is on the second floor of a beautiful Grade II listed building, which dates from the 1860's, in a conservation area of Eastbourne. It’s small, but comfortable and cosy; the living room in particular gets lots of light, and it has recently been re-decorated. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Eastbourne. It has: - Double aspect, L-shaped, living room, with smart TV and Wi-Fi. Books and games available to use. - Small galley kitchen with built-in hob, oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge with ice-box, cafetiere, and all the necessary crockery, cutlery and cookware. I make sure there’s tea, coffee, and milk in the fridge for your arrival (so you can get the kettle on after your journey!), and the basics you’d need for self-catering (vegetable oil, olive oil, salt, pepper, tea-towels etc.). Note: there is no washing machine. - Bedroom with double bed with pocket-sprung mattress, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables, iron and ironing board. Hairdryer provided. - Small bathroom with shower over the bath and shaver/light point. Shower gel , hand soap and towels provided.
The flat is in the perfect location for getting around Eastbourne. Everything is within a few minutes’ walk – no need for a car or taxi. Head off in one direction and the Devonshire Park Theatre is 2 mins walk away. Go round that corner and you’ll see the Winter Gardens, the Congress Theatre and the Towner Art gallery. The seafront is a 1 min walk from the Devonshire Park Theatre – you come out by the Western Lawns. Head off from the flat in the other direction and the town centre is 3 mins walk away. The apartment is literally metres away from the west entrance to the Devonshire Park Tennis stadium, venue for the annual Aegon International Tennis. The rail station is 10 mins walk away, which means trips to Brighton, Lewes, Hastings and London are easily accessible. Everything you need is nearby. There’s an artisan deli on the ground floor of the building which does very good croissants – delicious for breakfast – and also has a coffee shop, perfect for lunch if you don’t fancy preparing food. There’s a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby, everything from tapas to Italian, to traditional pub food (I include some recommendations in my welcome folder). There’s a small convenience store a few doors down, which stays open late – perfect if you run out of milk, or want to nip out and buy a bottle of wine or some beer- and a few mins walk away there’s a Co-op, where you can buy the basics you’d need for self-catering, and a larger Sainsburys in the Arndale Centre (still only a short walk away) for a bigger shop.
  • Colleen's flat was a perfect base for a short break in Eastbourne. It's small but very well appointed, clean and airy. The bed was especially comfortable! Colleen herself was a very kind and welcoming host, with great local knowledge, recommending places to get dinner and breakfast. Definitely recommended.

The flat is tastefully decorated with charming finishing touches, it was immaculately clean and in good condition, great value too ! We were able to park right outside too.

My place is close to great views, the beach, family-friendly activities, and restaurants and dining. You’ll love my place because of the views and the ambience. My place is good for singles or couples wanting to get away, or a small family with one or two children, as a base for getting out and about around the beautiful Eastbourne area.
The downstairs guest room with high ceilings and velux windows has it's own French doors opening onto the lovely back garden. The toilet and shower are not en-suite but are just a door away.
Ours is a lovely quiet neighbourhood a mile from the station and just a little over that to the seafront. The South Downs are a short bus drive away or start at our own Downs just a short walk across the way.
  • We found Jacqui and her husband to be very friendly and accommodating. A jug of water and glasses in the room was very welcome. Good parking on the road opposite. Nice quiet area. I was unprepared for using a toilet outside of the room, through the kitchen to the hall, be prepared and wear suitable bed wear or have a dressing gown with you.

    Pauline2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jacqui‘s place was absolutely perfect after our long hike from Seaford to Eastbourne, which took us all day. She was incredibly friendly and welcomed us into her home with open arms, which made us feel very comfortable and made the stay so relaxed and homely. Communication with her was quick, efficient and friendly. They didn’t mind that we checked in later and also let us use appliances in the kitchen, which was a big plus. Jacqui also prepared some rolls in the mornings which she offered to us. All in all, it’s perfect for 3 friends travelling together. Thank you so much Jacqui!

  • This is a great house to stay in. It is lively and peaceful the next. Jacqui doesn't mind if you are both in the kitchen at the same time. Some how it all works. The room is clean and tidy and heating is provided when needed.

  • It is very clean and Jacqui has a lovely family of husband and four children. It is very homely. Also, she was generous in that she gave us a lift to where we were going out. Also, we could make ourselves tea and coffee whenever we wanted. We helped ourselves to breakfast. stephen and Jennifer Ashley

    Stephen2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jacqui & Tim were amazing hosts, going above and beyond what was expected. Offering to pick us up from the station, drop us off the following morning. They even got up early to make us breakfast. The room was clean with fresh bedding and towels and were really made to like part of their wonderful family. I can't recommend them enough other than too say book with absolute confidence. Kind Regards Tom & Matt

    Elena2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Reviewing this property is difficult because initial impressions are ok, but the devil is in the detail, and I left this property with a nasty head injury! I hired this home to treat my 78 year old mother to a short break. The listing mentions the ceiling is low, but it does not mention the door frames are ultra low, and there are no precautions to avoid people hurting themselves, such as highlighter tape or cushioning which is common in public places. Up the steep stair case, …. the windows upstairs are all mechanically 'limited' to opening with a gap of approximately 10cm. This means 2 things. Firstly, if there were a fire downstairs, it could be difficult to escape from upstairs. This sounds unlikely… but fires do happen. When we stayed it was during a heatwave. Consequently the bedrooms were easily in excess of 30c when we went to bed. This was miserable. It was frustrating the windows could not be opened more. Additionally there were no fans provided. Although the listing mentions the bathroom is downstairs, people must understand that there is no toilet or wash basin or any such thing upstairs. Consequently, if you need to visit the toilet in the night, you have to go downstairs. On the 2nd night I went to go to the bathroom at around 5am, and as I had not slept much due to the heat, I was sleepy, and banged my head very hard on the door frame, leaving a large gash in my head. This was distressing. Also upstairs, the door to the main bedroom opens onto the staircase, which again if you are getting up to go to the bathroom in the night, or for children generally, is a risk, and again there are no precautions. My other put a cushion there to remind her. Aside from the issues above, the house was broadly ok. However, although the listing claims to provide breakfast, the reality was a carton of milk and an open box of muesli which would have been used by prior guests. Unhygienic and not really a proper offering of breakfast. Overall, I would NOT recommend this place for young children, due to the steep stair case and danger at the main bedroom entrance, or for older guests, or anyone with any mobility issues, or anyone who could imagine they may find the only toilet is downstairs and inconvenient in the night. The combined effect of a lone downstairs toilet, low door frames and difficulty sleeping due to a lack of fan and stuck windows all aligned to cause my accident, and it spoilt our break.

    Adrian2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fab break here, everything we needed and clean. A safe little courtyard for our dog and plenty of space inside. Close to lots of interesting places to visit. Check in was super easy and we had no issues at all. Thanks, I think we will be back!!!

The main bedroom has a double bed, a good quality mattress, sumptuous mattress topper, cosy duvet and a choice of pillows. Our apartments are the perfect choice for seaside getaways, family holidays and for anyone working or studying away from home. They have all been designed to comfortably accommodate two people but children and additional adults are very welcome to stay as well. For a small charge we can prepare an additional full size single wall bed in the main living area with extra linen and towels. Being at the rear of the property Beachside 2 does not have a sea view. If you would like a sea view then please check our other listings Beachside 3 and Beachside 5.

Dippy Cottage provides the perfect couples escape, offering a private hideaway to indulge in. This small house with the big welcome, wraps you up in its magical rustic luxury.  Curl up and read a book in the cosy armchair by the log burner . The main room with its vaulted ceiling and eclectic style offers the perfect escape.  This shamelessly romantic bedroom with its king size four poster bed and beautiful beams opens up with bi-fold doors onto the quiet courtyard.
Dippy Cottage is a self contained annex. A charming vaulted living room and small well equipped kitchen. With Delongi coffee machine, Dualit toaster and Smeg oven and hob. A bathroom with roll top bath were you can sink into bubbles and soak away your worries. The beautiful romantic bedroom with king size four poster, opens up with bifold doors onto a private courtyard. The perfect place to read the papers over breakfast or chat about your adventures and enjoy a glass of wine as the afternoon drifts into dusk.
There are countless visitor attractions in the area, far too many to mention here. We provide a range of leaflets covering local museums, theatres, art galleries and other attractions. However here are some of our favourites: The Village Take a stroll down into the village and explore the local shops. Selling excellent local produce, Julies delicatessen is full of delicious temptation, or stock up at the local family butchers, while Pete the fish can sell you the catch of the day.  Or walk a little further and explore Broad-oak Park. If you fancy being pampered there are also several hairdressers and beauticians,  I highly recommend Perfections Beauty salon where the friendly staff can transform your day. The Beach If you turn right on leaving the cottage you can wander down the hill to find yourself on Cooden Beach, Cooden is your typical Sussex beach, so expect a long stretch of shingle divided up by wooden groynes and you won't be disappointed. At low tide there are some sandy flats exposed. Take a picnic lunch or enjoy a BBQ as you watch the sun go down.  Art and culture De La Warr A five minute drive from the famous De la Warr Pavilion a pioneering centre for arts and culture in an iconic modernist building by the sea. It is now the South East region’s most significant centre for the contemporary arts comprising two state of the art galleries, a stylish café and modern restaurant, an open roof terrace with spectacular sea-views, the original auditorium, curvaceous silver staircases and balconies and terraces for basking in the sun.  Situated a pebble’s throw from the sea, the Pavilion puts on a lively programme of exhibitions by national and international artists, contemporary music gigs and classical concerts and events for children and young people both inside and outside the building. The restaurant serves delicious, freshly-prepared light lunches and pre-theatre suppers, whilst the café/bar serves fair-trade and speciality teas, coffees and home-made cakes and scones. A perfect day out!Food and Restaurants There are a number of restaurants, bars and takeaways within five minutes walk, try the fish and chips or spend time enjoying a pint and pub lunch in the Wheatsheaf Inn. Cooden Beach - Brasserie on the Beach - just five minutes walk away. With moody atmospheric winter skies and crisp sunny days, your view over the beach is always changing. On warm days it’s glass walls will fold back so you can breathe in the fresh sea air. When summer hits you can also choose to eat outside on the Beach Terrace. Whatever the weather, the Gin Palace in the newly crafted Cafe Bar features eighteen artisan gins and a range of specialist tonics.  The Driftwood restaurant - a five minute drive, provides an elegant but unpretentious backdrop for relaxed lunches, Sunday roasts with the family, as well as intimate dinners. Lunch and supper are wonderful affairs of tasty dishes, delicious desserts and a carefully selected wine list to match. Rock Salt - a five minute drive. Lovely, buzzing brasserie with great atmosphere, welcoming staff, great choice of beer and excellent food. Best place for just drinks with friends, or with great food. The place to go just back from the seafront. Battle and Hastings From coast to countryside, seaside to historic towns and villages, there are many things to do in Hastings and 1066 Country, including excellent days out and places to see. On the coast visit the unspoilt sand dunes of Camber or visit the quirky lively resort of Hastings. For free things to do in Hastings, why not experience the beauty of the countryside by taking a walk through Combe Valley or Hastings Country Park via woods and ancient forests; be inspired by exotic planting and old-fashioned roses in the glorious gardens of Great Dixter and Pashley Manor. Look out for wildlife and birds in the natural nature reserves of Rye Harbour. For the more active there are adrenaline sports, cycling and boat trips. Visit where history began at the site of the Battle of Hastings and the imposing castles of Bodiam and Herstmonceux. Go to the historic homes of famous writers including Rudyard Kipling and Lamb House. Golf Dippy Cottage is a five minute walk from Cooden Beach golf club. The Committee and members of Cooden Beach Golf Club offer you a warm welcome and wish you an enjoyable visit .  The Highwoods golf club a five minute drive away and is also happy to welcome guests.
  • Everyone needs to experience Dippy Cottage. Jo has done such an amazing job with furnishings and little touches. A welcome basket for us and one for our dog who could not wait to curl up in the dog bed. Jo made sure the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The mouse game is addictive and fun. The cottage is a short walk from the beach and the local shops. We are already planning our return trip.

  • We had a lovely 3 night stay at Dippy Cottage. Jo has gone to every length to make staying here a real home from home experience. Not only did she welcome us but our little Yorkie, Mia, was also welcomed, with a dog bed and goodies! The bed was comfy so we slept well. We had an early morning walk to Cooden Beach Hotel, about 15 minutes, having coffee overlooking the beach, very peaceful and relaxing. Good luck to Jo on her new venture, I'm sure it will go well!

  • Dippy cottage really is one of a kind - Jo has added so many fun little touches the pictures don't do it justice! Communication from Jo was great and she gave us such a warm welcome (complete with fresh tiger bread). Dippy Cottage is cosy and quirky, the perfect place to relax and recharge!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Dippy Cottage. Jo has put a lot of effort into creating a beautiful, private, tranquil setting for anyone looking for a romantic getaway. It's a good location for anyone wishing to explore the coastline or inland by bike or walking. Communication with Jo was excellent throughout and she gave us a very warm and generous welcome. We would have no hesitation in recommending Dippy Cottage and fully intend to return ourselves in the future.

  • Very warm quiet apartment with every detail covered including a few extra welcoming touches. Even our dog was spoilt rotten with her own very generous welcome pack. Very clean with a lot of character. Really felt at home and Jo, our host made us feel that way. A must stay. Martin, Rachel and Betsy

  • If you are seeking a beautiful retreat, where you immediately feel at home, relaxed and cosy, then look no further. Jo is the most wonderful human and has created a truly special space here, and her little touches to make you feel welcome are the icing on an exceptional cake. Really cannot speak highly enough of this place for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Close to the sea and so many great beaches, wonderful coastal walking in Hastings and at the end of a day, you get to return to a warm and tranquil spot, with it's lovely big bath to take that relaxed vibe even further. You also get to play the mouse game... i'll say no more, except it kept us entertained for sometime and was just another example of the extra touches Jo has taken to ensure guests feel taken care of, at home and entertained - thank you Jo, we loved our three nights and will definitely be coming back.

  • My son and I really enjoyed our stay with Renata & Dave. We found their home comfortable, clean, welcoming and in an excellent location. Dave & Renata are really lovely to speak with and so helpful with tips and ideas for what to see & where to go. We also had a very warm welcome from Dillon, Mitsy & Apollo! Highly recommended this place! :)
