  • Temple Farmhouse is a Byron Hinterland property like no other. The photos are amazing, but experiencing the land and the house in person is next level. So much thought and care has gone into every detail and the space is immediately warm and welcoming. The decor is both effortlessly elegant and family friendly. The grounds are fun to explore for adults and kids alike - something beautiful and functional around every corner. It was truly a pleasure to stay at the farmhouse for a few nights and I can’t wait to return as soon as possible!

Paddock Hall is a boutique, bohemian house that is hand built and consciously designed for recuperation and reconnection to nature. The Hall's open plan living space and exposed beam ceiling is fashioned using sustainably sourced timber and old world joinery. Enjoy the unique interior of timbers and white wash, the simple, beautifully curated furnishings and the surrounding gorgeous green of the sub tropics.
Self contained, the retreat offers a bespoke kitchen, open wood fire place and king sized bed. The large sun lit bathroom and laundry has all amenities and privacy. The space is open plan, with the fireplace and arm chairs nestled down one end and a fourposter bed in the other. The kitchen and dining table are in the middle and two huge glass sliding doors open onto the spacious veranda allowing views, breeze and plenty of light. A vintage claw foot bath sits on the veranda that spans the length of the Hall, overlooking the paddock and a row of grand tallowwood trees. The paddock hosts two pet sheep and Harper the friendly goat. Guests have the option of a catered breakfast with Newrybar's Harvest award winning barista coffee and wood fired sour dough. Full catering or dinner party catering in the big house are also available, including vegan and gluten free options.
Paddock Hall and the Big House were lovingly hand built on our property 'Yalburabah', meaning 'place of healing' in the language of the indigenous Bundjalung people of the area. Yalburabah is a working macadamia farm and home. It is on a quiet rural road but is close to the highway, only 15 minutes drive to the beautiful surf beaches of Lennox Head and the healing waters of Lake Ainsworth. Killen Falls is just a 10 minute drive down the road and the renowned restaurant, deli and bakery 'Harvest', in Newrybar is under 15 minutes away. Newrybar also offers fantastic shopping for homewares, fashion and antiques. We are 20 minutes to Byron and it's beaches and shops.
  • Our stay was amazing. Beautiful place to relax with a great pool to cool off and the farm animals were a bonus!

  • Paddock Hall is beautiful. It was right up our alley and we are completely in awe of the space they have created. It is relaxing, peaceful and remote yet still close enough to go to the beach or for a walk or to a local coffee shop. We look forward to coming back in Winter to use the fire place, thanks for having us! Sof x

  • My partner and I absolutely loved Hannah’s place. It has an incredible interior and exterior. The outdoor bath is great and we loved making friends with the goat. The furniture was beautiful too. Communication with Hannah was really easy. We’ll definitely be back in winter to enjoy the fireplace.

  • We had an amazing time at Justine’s. From start to finish her communication and responsiveness was great. It was such a nice spot to relax and wind down after coming from the Gold Coast. Having wine and playing board games on the deck overlooking the country side was really awesome. Our dog also had possibly the best time of his life, running around the property. We will be back!

  • Marks place is fantastic, has all you could need and so comfortable. A perfect place for a country get away, or a quiet retreat - but still so close to everything. Loved having the animals around. Dylan is hilarious. The hosts are there if you need anything and super easy to communicate with, but allow you absolute privacy. Very highly recommend. Thanks so much Happy Hens!

  • What a perfect little country hideaway!! It was everything my boyfriend and I could have asked for. Private, quiet, gorgeous surroundings, animals, fully self contained. I couldn’t rate it more highly. We will return for sure :)

  • Awesome place to stay. Thanks for everything Mark

    Manuel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most amazing time at Marks place. The accommodation was comfortable, clean well equipped and set on 5 acres. The location is superb. It's rural (and it really feels it) but only 20-25 minutes from the beach or major centres like Ballina or Lismore. Mark and David are exceptional hosts and we enjoyed chatting with them and hanging out with their animals. The cabin, the location, the value, the hosts and their animals are all amazing. I'd give 6 stars if it was an option. Thanks and hope to visit again soon.

    David2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great cabin with everything you need. Very clean and well equipped. In a very beautiful area. Mark goes the extra step to make your stay memorable.

    Douglas2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's place was a real gem to find! The space was a lovely cabin - kitchen then living then bedroom with ensuite and a lovely little garden on a hill. There were lots of personal touches that were really nice - farm fresh eggs, milk, butter and Tim Tams! Nice kitchen with everything you would need to whip up a gourmet dinner. Dining table then lounge and TV (BYO DVDs). Queen bedroom with lots of storage and hanging space. A neat and functional ensuite. Everything was so nice and clean. I got to feed the Alpacas one afternoon which was a lot of fun and met Dylan (he doesn't think he is an Alpaca) who was very interactive. Mark was a great host and very approachable but also allowed me privacy. Nice and quiet with lots of bird and bush noises. Very relaxing.

    Andrew2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's accommodation perfectly suited our needs. It was clean, comfortable and well located. Mark was a fantastic host, punctual with his communication and very kindly introduced us to all his fantastic animals. He even left us a packet of tim tams in the fridge! It is a very beautiful part of the world and Mark's place is well placed for you to enjoy it!!

  • Julie & Noel’s place is a hidden gem; it looks great in the photos but it was even better in person and just exactly what we needed. We stayed there over what turned out to be a very uncertain time in the world. After many a change of plans and events which were out of our control, we ended up looking to see if we could find a place that was furnished with a full kitchen and we were lucky to find this one. The calm and soothing nature of the home and it’s surroundings allowed us to truly escape it all. The property is generously furnished, the dogs are very sweet and obedient, and overall it was a simply magnificent stay. Thanks again Julie for your generosity and allowing us to enjoy our stay so very much!

    Danielle2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Noel’s property is absolutely stunning! My family and I had the most relaxing weekend exploring the farm. The milking shed was very clean and everything was supplied for a delicious breakfast. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you for having us x

  • As amazing as the photos are, they don't actually do the place justice! It is so much better when you are there in person with every possible modern necessity you could imagine. Everything is 5-Star! The bedrooms, the lounge rooms, the kitchens, the facilities - everything! Plus there's 3 of most things (fridges, BBQ's, washing machines etc) and more cutlery, glasses and appliances than you'll ever need! And let's not forget the peaceful and tranquil location of the property and the surrounding area. David and Shane's hospitality and generosity is second to none and I couldn't rate our stay any higher. We will definitely be back and so will most people we know! 10 out of 5 stars!!

  • Donns Sharam's Art House was everything I expected and more. All the little touches were great, loved the yoghurt and the heart stones. The bed was so comfy and bedroom was beautuful. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, the rain shower was lovely and more than enough towels were provided. The pool is wonderful, the peacock was hilarious and the view was just breathtaking. Anything needed was provided straightaway. Only a few days were spent here but came away so relaxed, really didn't want to leave. Plans are afoot for another, longer, visit. Donna, Bob and OLLIE are great hosts.

  • This has been our favourite stay to-date. The view was amazing. The cottage is both modern and rustic. It was a very heart warming experience. Michael and his family are great hosts and have done well to setup this stay. I highly recommend it.

    Lucas2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our young family had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at the Cottage. It is clean, spacious and comfortable and set in stunning countryside. It's a great location to visit lots of places in the area, and only 10 mins from Harvest for morning coffee :) Michael and Grace were quick and helpful in all communication. Highly recommend and would love to visit again.

    Alice2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed two very peaceful & comfortable nights here. The sounds and sights of the country were just what we were after. Extra bonus were the visits from friendly Frank the farm dog. The tea, coffe, shampoo and conditioner etc were lovely touches-thank you. Wish we had more time to stay and relax. Thank you

    Jo2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. The place is very private, very peaceful and more spacious than expected. Perfect for young kids too. We'll be back!

    Pris2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family spent 4 nights at the cottage which was a perfect base for us to visit family in the Northern Rivers whilst also being able to enjoy our own space in a beautiful and peaceful setting. We enjoyed being surrounded by nature away from the hustle and bustle. We visited in January and I particularly looked for a property with air conditioning. However, we didn’t need to use the air conditioning at all as the cottage was well positioned to capture the breezes. We enjoyed walking down to the creek and look forward to returning in search of the elusive platypus. Michael and Grace are fantastic hosts. The cottage was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We loved the large outdoor setting with a gorgeous outlook and plenty of shade.

    Belinda2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Grace’s place was perfect for our getaway It is centrally located which makes it easy to explore lots of cool villages and surrounding countryside

    Jenny2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay. Quite roomy for a family of 4, plenty of space outside. Very breezy and didn't even use an air con for the whole week. Had everything we needed, and Michael was always available if there was something else we required. The location is great, very quiet and private, close to Lennox Head and Ballina; however the drive to Byron is around 35-40 mins and some roads can be quite bad (the best way is to get on the highway via Tintenbar, I think).

    Viktoria2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay! The house is really well set up and the view at sunset is unbeatable. Wonderful hospitality as well. We would happily recommend Grace and Michael’s place.

  • A wonderful location, just what was needed as a break from our busy lives. Green pastures that go for miles, cows and horses grazing. Handy to all that this wonderful area has on offer. I definitely will return in the colder months as I would like to experience the fireplace that is there. Love the refurb of this old dairy, so innovative. Thank you Michael and Grace.

  • What an amazing spot! Such peace and tranquility. We loved visiting the horses in the next field and looking for platypus in the creek. The local area is absolutely stunning with an array of choices for amazing food options! (We particularly liked The Eltham Hotel and Harvest Cafe in Newrybar!) Thank you Michael for being an amazing host, your sound system certainly kept my husband very happy!

  • Alan & Linda’s place us very clean, quiet and comfortable. They are very welcoming. The room feels very private in a wing of the house. The bed is very comfortable and there is a private use bathroom with a great pressure shower. Also an amazing swimming pool. Very peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommended.

  • I have had a lovely time at Alan and Linda’s place. Met Alan’s sister Jean and we had so much in common. A beautiful family and a beautiful home. The pool was wonderful, my section of the house was very private. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud. My balcony looked over the pool and I loved sitting out there and swimming in it. Breakfast was upstairs and I had a choice of about 10 cereals plus 2 beautiful muffins. Felt spoiled rotten which was lovely as I am grieving my Dads passing last month. One of the best places I have ever stayed and can’t wait to escape there again. Thank you x

  • What an absolutely beautiful stay. The cabin itself has been so thoughtfully put together with a unique style. I couldn't help thinking I'd love to know the story behind so many of the pieces! Kitchen well stocked for cooking & the bed was the most comfortable I have slept in. Loved the hammock and the deck for reading books with a glass of wine, looking out over the hills. Hosts were extremely responsive. Thank you Matt & Alex, I will be back.

    Louisa2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Alex’s place was nothing but amazing! The location was surreal, even with the rain and storms the first night and the sunshine the next - we got to experience the best of both worlds. Alex was so easy to contact, and made the accomodation feel warm and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door with the cleanliness and beautiful styling/decor. I hope to be hanging in the hammock enjoying the views from the deck again in the near future. Thanks again Alex!

  • A very cool house - brand new but with nice old fittings. A great location tucked away in the back roads (but with wifi) on a creek where the turtles come up and say hello. Nice bbq under the stars. And a very comfortable bed.

  • Surrounded by beautiful scenery and rustic charm like indoor fire and galley style kitchen. Loved staying here for a long weekend escape and best of all we could take our pup with us.

    Sarah-Jane2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accomodation in a private, though very convenient location to surrounding areas. Fantastic to be able to have our dogs stay as well. Great accomodation with all amenities available.

    Steph2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wow is all I can say! We had a fantastic and relaxing stay in this eco cabin. Colleen was quick to respond and very easy to deal with. The space is as beautiful as it looks in photos and we thoroughly enjoyed reading in the hammock, sitting by the fire pit in the evening and exploring the surrounding land. Being able to bring our dog along for the journey made it that much better. The yard is secure and he had a great time swimming in the creek. We liked that we were only a 15 minute drive to the dog beach at Lennox Head, yet you still get the feeling you are nestled far away in the hinterland! We cant wait to come back and enjoy this Airbnb with friends. Thank you Colleen!

  • The place was much better than expected. Such a peaceful and quite place with great view of greenery farm. If you can make it for sunrise and sunset view, its a bonus.

  • Had a great stay at Anne's place over Christmas. The place was perfect for us and had everything we needed. Anne kindly collected a parcel for us before we got there. Anne and Jim are great hosts and are always in contact if you need them. Thanks !

    Eden2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Anne’s farm home. In our opinion, it is in an excellent location. Close enough to the action, but removed enough to have a relaxing, restorative stay. We loved waking up early and listening to the birds on the farm. It was spotlessly clean and had a wonderful selection of fresh breakfast items. This is such a beautiful part of the world, I highly recommend.

  • This is the perfect escape. The home itself feels like a beautiful tree house and is so comfortably and thoughtfully appointed, yet still feels spacious. The drive to the property is gorgeous and you really feel yourself starting to relax even as you approach the house. Great bed, well stocked kitchen (and definitely stock up at Clunes general store which was really, really great, and best bottle shop attached to it too!), beautiful bathroom and a deck to spend your mornings and evenings on before and after bushwalking and beach trips! 10/10 - we'll be back for sure!

    Emily2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were blown away by Elizabeth’s place. The location is hidden on beautiful acreage in Eltham/Teven and is surrounded by bush with native wildlife everywhere. And the cabin itself is stylishly designed with everything you could need. What a little gem! Highly recommended

Rooke Hill Studio is a separate suite on a private 12-acre country property in the Byron hinterland. Enjoy a swim in the pool, a stroll around our property, gaze up at the star-filled skies or simply relax in the comfort of our spotlessly clean, modern guest suite. We believe the little touches make all the difference!
Rooke Hill Studio offers boutique motel-style accommodation with new, modern facilities with a kitchenette equipped with microwave (no oven or cooktop) fridge, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The studio has a television with DVD player as well as a selection of DVDs, books, games and magazines to use during your stay. The bedroom has a queen size bed, wardrobe (with iron and ironing board) and ensuite with shower, toilet, hairdryer, towels and quality toiletries. We are connected to the NBN so Rooke Hill Studio also offers free WiFi. A selection of teas, coffee and fresh milk are supplied. The studio doesn't have a laundry, however if you would like washing done, we are happy to put a load on for you. There's also washing powder, pegs and a clothes horse if you want to hand-wash anything.
We are located 5 kms from the village of Alstonville which has cafes, a supermarket, bottle shop, chemists, speciality shops, as well as the local pub, The Federal. Alstonville is also serviced by many professional services including doctors' surgeries, dentists and allied health professionals. We are also located 5 kms from Wollongbar which has a small supermarket, hairdresser, chemist and the Wollongbar Tavern which has excellent meals, trivia nights and an open fire in winter. About 15 minutes drive away is the coastal town of Ballina and in the other direction, the hinterland city of Lismore which has a large hospital, a great art gallery and university as well as many restaurants and cafes. World-famous restaurants, cafes and surfing beaches at Lennox Head and Byron Bay are 20 and 25 minutes drive away respectively. We are an ideal base to explore all the Northern Rivers of NSW has to offer; all within an easy 1-3 hours drive, and are well placed to offer suggestions for other places to visit (we have lived here for 20 years).

  • Very nice place. Whisper quiet, modern and stylish, spotlessly clean

    Iain2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Averil & Andrews place is in the most beautiful location, we loved hearing the birds and cicadas chirping away and the gorgeous views from the property. Friendly and generous hosts, a perfectly appointed cabin, a lush swimming pool, and a cute chicken - what more could a girl want?

    Caitlin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Averil and Andrew's studio is exactly as per the photos and in fact even better. The location and surroundings are fabulous, the studio is very clean and beautifully decorated. Averil has thought of absolutely everything you might need and leaves thoughtful things for your arrival. We stayed as a couple with a toddler and there was more than enough room for us all. The aircon works wonders if needed, the bed is super comfortable and there is even a little patio you can use to sit and enjoy a view of the rainforest. You also have access to the pool by the main house which is really lovely. Couldn't recommend this property enough and we'll be back!

    Amelie And Anthony2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night with Averil, but wished it could of been longer. She has a beautiful property close to Alstonville, it was spotlessly clean and Averil goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.

    Mandy2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Averil's place truly is spotlessly clean. It is very comfortable, great bedding, air con and peaceful surrounds. A pretty little deck behind the guest unit with rainforest style garden serves as a private spot to relax outdoors. Lots of thoughtful touches including insect repellant and coffee machine. Averil is a gracious host, even inviting us to share the pool and gazebo area. A lot of thought has gone into this airbnb.

Enjoy a unique experience in a beautiful self-contained yurt with stunning hinterland views. Includes private deck and access to a beautiful lagoon pool and spa. A short drive to the wonderful hinterland villages of Clunes and Bangalow. Relax and revive in complete serenity.
This is a unique space to relax, with breathtaking views across the Byron hinterland. The yurt has a fully equipped kitchenette, including a stove top, bar fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. A comfortable queen size bed and two lounges to relax on, plus a private en suite. There is a reverse cycle air conditioner. Enjoy the view from the deck, lounge by the pool or relax in the spa. The yurt has its own private access and deck with your own BBQ. The pool and spa are shared.
The area is blessed with wonderful things to see and do. The village of Clunes is a beautiful and well preserved hinterland village with an outstanding general store and bottle shop stocking the superb local 'Jilly' wines. Mingle and socialise with the locals on a Thursday at the Clunes wood-fired pizza night or grab some Japanese Gyoza on a Monday or Friday evening. Also in the village you have a butcher, cafe, hairdresser, book shop and a garage/petrol station at your disposal. It is also a short drive down to Eltham where there is the iconic Eltham Hotel, a classic country pub. You can also sample the delicious food available in a beautiful garden setting at the Eltham Pantry. Take a short 15 minute drive to the picturesque township of Bangalow where you will find weekly farmers markets on a Saturday, a great pub, cafes and a variety of shops. The beaches, restaurants and bars of Byron Bay are a further 15 minute drive from Bangalow. Most weekends play host to fantastic markets in various neighbouring towns and the stunning Minyon Falls and Rocky Creek Dam are 25 minutes drive away for bush walking, picnics and amazing views.
  • What a fantastic stay we had...this yurt fulfilled our glamping dreams and we had warm days by the pool and nights with the sound of birds and insects outside (but thankfully and amazingly not inside!) the yurt. We were able to cook full meals in the kitchen in the yurt and there was a nice shower and beautiful deck area and comfortable bed, and an amazing skylight and views of the beautiful valley. The pool and hot tub were amazing. Oxana was the perfect host because she was immediately available if issues came up and very accommdating, but also incredibly respectful of allowing us to enjoy the peaceful and serene feeling of being in the yurt and beside the pool and feeling like there aren't other people around. It was about 30 minutes from Byron bay beaches which was not too far to go back and forth daily to surf and all that, but groceries were available closer in the nearby town. I would choose this stay if you're looking to feel like you're on your own self-guided nature retreat and close to the outdoors, and don't mind a bit of a drive to the tourist attractions. Thanks again!

    Stephanie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt was lovely. It was clean and had everything we needed for a really nice, relaxing weekend away. The included breakfast was a very nice touch and that sourdough was great! Good location - close to shops and restaurants but still felt like a getaway. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Oxana and Stephen!

    Chris2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time there, it was amazing with amazing views and definitely an amazing pool and spa, and the yurt was so much bigger then we thought it would be! It was an amazing experience and we will definitely be going back to stay there again

  • If relaxation is what your after, then look know further. This cosy yurt is amazing. And the views are just bliss. My partner and I had the most relaxing weekend here. It’s so quiet and peaceful. The little pub in town is worth checking out they do great food :)

  • Wow what a place! Oxana’s yurt was a fantastic escape for those who like something a little different and a bit of adventure but with all the mod cons like aircon! Sunsets here were spectacular! The pool was beautiful and the spa just the ticket! Highly recommend thanks for the stay!

The location is beautiful and it’s a lovely drive into Byron through the hills. Our favourite part by far was the warm welcome and home cooked breakfast by the pool though!

Welcome! Come and relax at our peaceful, self contained home, nestled amongst beautiful rain forests and lush macadamia's. Awake to incredible birdsong. Experience, nearby, scrumptious restaurants and pubs, beach walks & golf. Enjoy local produce from the markets of Byron Bay, Ballina and Lennox Head, all just a short drive away.
Our great little space is a private, one bedroom self contained unit, seperate from our property. In the spacious bedroom there is a comfy queen bed and the living space has a double sofa bed. The newly renovated bathroom is a comfortable size with the obvious loo, basin and shower. You'll find plenty of wardrobe and drawer space in the bedroom and lots of empty cupboard space in the kitchen/living area. There is a bookshelf filled with books and useful local brochures for you to borrow whilst staying. The kitchen is well equipped, despite there being no conventional oven, however, there is everything else you could need including a mini oven, microwave, electric wok and grill, a small gas ring, toaster, kettle and plenty of equipment, enough to create a slap up roast if you so wish! Inside, you will also find a table and chairs to eat at or you may like to enjoy breakfast or a sunset meal at either the set outside your door or down in the garden at the beautiful bench my husband has made in memory of my father who has recently passed away. We are always open to ideas on how to make our guests stay more pleasurable!! Please note that at present, there is no wifi (Some people have managed to pick it up) & mobile reception can have a tendency to drop out, depending on which network you are with. Telstra appears to be the best provider here.
There are so many things to do around this beautiful area. If walking or cycling boardwalks, national parks, nature reserves and waterfalls are your pleasure, we can point you in that direction. Every week, you will find one of The famous, vibrant and colourful markets of Byron Bay, The Channon, Brunswick Heads, Lennox Head and Bangalow where you can buy fresh, local produce, crafts and clothing. Heaps of scrummy coffee shops and restaurants within 10 minutes drive. Art galleries galore. Drive just 20 minutes to the wonderful, pristine beaches of the Northern Rivers including Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay. For the keen golfer, we are surrounded by picturesque courses such as the Teven Valley Golf course just 5 minutes down the road. We are in a good position for the festivals held yearly in this area. Around 30 minute drive away (depending on how busy it is around there!!) from the hustle and bustle of Bluesfest, Splendour and The Falls. Come back here and chill. For the kids there is always the Ballina Waterslides or The House with no steps waterpark and minigolf. Get lost in a maze or pet the alpacas at the Amaze-n-place. Animal park fun at The Macadamia Castle. The big fun of the Big parks on the Gold Coast just over an hour away.
  • Beautiful tranquil setting and fully equipped home to satisfy all your homely needs. And generous host in this time toilet paper peril. But honestly great hosts and a great stay.

  • Beautiful location perfectly located to Lennox Heads, Newrybar and of course Byron. Sarah-Ania was a lovely host. A light and airy accomodation that was perfect for 2 friends travelling together. Be sure to treat yourself to a complimentary face mask and definitely sit outside in the sunshine to enjoy your breakfast before you head out for the day.

Our beautiful home sits on a small acreage, just a short drive from the village of Alstonville and half way between Ballina & Lismore. We love the wonderful nature surrounding us with wallabies and all manner of birdlife. There is a citrus orchard, vegetable garden, ornamental gardens and a small rainforest. You can take a walk, or sit on the deck and watch the beautiful sunsets. If you sit on the front veranda you will hear, see and even feel as the birds fly by.
We live in a rural area and are surrounded by macadamia farms or lifestyle properties. It is quiet here and you will feel very connected to the nature that surrounds us.

Your own little world. Historic Farmhouse (Circa 1884) located amongst rolling, green pastures and rainforest. Wake up to birdsong in a tranquil hinterland paradise. The perfect setting to get away from it all. Bangalow is just 8 minutes drive away, Byron Bay a further 10 minutes on from there, and most popular destinations are within 25-minutes drive. The House is beautifully appointed with full kitchen, spacious ensuite bathroom and verandahs on all sides.
The home is set on 30 acres of lush green pastures. Two creeks flow through the property and support numerous pockets of “Big Scrub” rainforest. Native birdlife is abundant and the tranquility of the farm provides a perfect atmosphere for anyone seeking quiet inspiration for writing, painting, meditating etc. The house is completely self-contained and private, with an uninterrupted outlook. Like your own home away from home in the country. A BBQ and architect designed shelter are located a short stroll from the house. Nestled alongside the rainforest and babbling brook, this tranquil setting has been used for weddings and yoga retreats. Cooking and eating utensils are provided. You are welcome to use it on request. The house is an original dairy farmer's cottage which has been lovingly renovated to create a cosy atmosphere. Every room looks out over pastoral views. The hosts live in converted dairy bails up the hill from the cottage & are far enough away to be out of sight & earshot, yet close enough to be contactable.
The farm is located in a very quiet neighbourhood on a short, no through road. There is no traffic noise, just the sweet sounds of nature & an occasional distant mower. Our neighbours are all friendly & helpful. They are acres away from the cottage, but close enough to maintain a happy community spirit. Nashua is a beautiful hinterland hamlet offering peace and tranquility with stunning pastoral views. It is just 10 minutes drive to Bangalow, the most popular destination in the Byron Bay hinterland due to its historic village charm and great collection of boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and markets. Byron Bay itself is just a further 10 minutes on, offering spectacular beaches and fun-filled holiday vibes. There are countless other destinations in the Byron Bay Hinterland worth exploring. The hinterland is a truly unique destination, offering a blend of stunning natural beauty with character-filled villages, fabulous food scene, diverse shopping, numerous markets, abundant health and wellness experiences, and jam-packed cultural events calendar. The region is artistic, progressive and community-oriented. The beauty of the landscape is jaw dropping and diverse, from incredible mountains and forests to lush, green farmland; and magnificent beaches and coastlines. Local Information Where to get supplies -Fresh Produce oThe Bangalow Farmers Market is held every Saturday morning from 8am until 11am in the Bangalow Hotel car park. It is a great little market with various local growers selling super-fresh seasonal produce plus a collection of artisanal food producers. There is often live music often playing. oThe Mullumbimby Farmers Market is held every Friday morning at the Showgrounds from 7am until 11am. It is the largest produce market in the region (largely organic) and also had a wide selection of local value-added foods. oIn Talofa, along Bangalow Road just on the other side of the Pacific Highway from Bangalow, there is a farm on the left that you can often buy fresh berries from directly and a produce stand on the right called Fresh As which sells a range of local produce including produce grown on-site (the set-up is pretty basic but it’s worth popping in and supporting some young famers). The drive towards Byron Bay from here is spectacular too. oThe Bangalow Foodworks has everything you need at a reasonable price and quality. oThe Clunes General Store is a character-filled shop with a small selection local produce, fresh sourdough bread from The Bread Social, grocery basics and booze. There is a good coffee shop next door, which also does amazing wood-fired pizzas on Thursday nights from 5pm. -Good Bread and Pastries oSparrow Coffee in Bangalow sells wonderful sourdough bread and pastries (they often sell out). Their coffee is the best in town too. They are an offshoot of Harvest Café & Deli. Shop 1A, 32–34 Byron Street, Bangalow. oHarvest Café & Deli makes amazing organic wood-fired sourdoughs & pastries. The café and deli are worth visiting – a great place for a sit-down meal or to collect goodies to enjoy at home. 18-22 Old Pacific Highway, Newrybar. oThe Bread Social at The Farm Byron Bay makes wonderful sourdoughs and pastries - just part of the reason why it’s one of the region’s top destinations. (The bread is also often available at the Clunes General Store). 11 Ewingsdale Rd, Ewingsdale. -Meat oHerne's Butchery on the main street of Bangalow is fantastic, but it does close early. If you miss him, the Clunes Meat Market is also good (57 Main St, Clunes – on the right-hand side of the road on the outskirts of the village). oThe best place to buy super fresh, local seafood is Northern Rivers Seafood. They have their own boats that deliver their catch directly to the shop. They are located at 480 River St, Ballina. oThe Bay Seafood Market in Byron Bay is good too (7 Lawson Street). -Asian ingredients oThe Red Ginger in Bangalow sells a good range of Asian ingredients including things like fresh rice noodles, deep fried tofu, Asian greens, miso paste, fish sauce, soy sauce, frozen dim sims, etc. It’s located just off the main street on Station Street on the verandah behind “Our Corner Store”. -Groceries oThe Bangalow Foodworks has everything you need. oThe Super IGA on Sunrise Boulevard in the Byron Bay Arts and Industrial Estate is a larger grocery store. oSantos Organics is a great natural grocer with a large range of organic and all-natural products. They have three stores: 105 Jonson Street Byron Bay, 51 -53 Burringbar Street Mullumbimby, and a warehouse with wholesale prices at 7 Brigantine Street in the Byron Bay Arts and Industrial Estate.   Cafes & Restaurants -The Three Blue Ducks at The Farm Byron Bay. Serves casual, nutritious, tasty food with everything as local as possible. Located on a 32-hectare property with a focus on sustainable-farming practices, designed to "grow, feed and educate" the community. A collection of “micro-businesses” is housed on the farm including restaurant, bakery, produce store, flower shop, and education center. People are encouraged to stroll around the farm to see the animals and vegetables growing. 11 Ewingsdale Rd, Ewingsdale. -Harvest Café & Deli. Lovely country café showcasing local produce and products. Wonderful house-made sourdough and other baked goods (there is an historic bakery onsite). Great deli with excellent cheese room. Beautiful gardens to explore. Nice drive. Other boutique shops to explore in the village. Worth a trip. 18-22 Old Pacific Highway, Newrybar. -Fleet Restaurant. High-end modern Australian restaurant with good wine bar. Hatted restaurant with rave reviews. 2/16 The Terrace, Brunswick Heads. -Uptown at Town Café Restaurant. Modern Australian restaurant that offers a degustation menu and has retained its Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide hat for five years running. 33 Byron Street, Bangalow‬. -Woods Bangalow. A funky hipster hangout serving delicious, wholesome and interesting food and drinks. 10 Station St, Bangalow. -Domo Café. Great sushi and innovative Japanese food run by Japanese expats. Great local hot spot. Beautiful drive (go towards Clunes and turn right onto Springvale Road & follow signs to 3-6 Albert St, Federal. -Our Corner Kitchen. Good coffee and food (the tapioca breakfast is delicious). Located behind their homewares store Our Corner Store. 3/38 Byron St, Bangalow. -The Italian Diner. Solid causal Italian fare. 37/39 Byron St, Bangalow. -Clunes Café for excellent wood-fired pizza on Thursday nights from 5pm (takeaway available). -Eltham Valley Pantry. Nice drive through the country. 713 Boatharbour Rd, Eltham. -Eltham Pub. Traditional country pub with above average pub food. A real local’s spot. 23/25 Eltham Rd, Eltham.   Villages -Bangalow: excellent mix of food, homewares, clothes, books and gifts. Don’t miss Bisque, Poet, Our Corner Store, Millars & More, Sparrow Coffee, Woods … to name just a few! -Newrybar: Harvest Café & Deli plus a couple of lovely homewares and clothing stores. -Brunswick Heads: Buzzing village with wonderful boutiques and cafes in stunning riverside/beach location. For food we recommend The Footbridge Café, Yami, Fleet, and the Fish Co-op. -Mullumbimby: eclectic, alternative town with some lovely boutiques and cafes. Fantastic farmers market every Friday. -Byron Bay: tourist mecca with stunning beaches. Worth going at sunset to listen to the hippie drummers and watch the colourful characters dancing as the sun drops behind the mountains over the bay (near the beach in front of Fishheads). Great clothes shopping. Nature -The Booyong Flora Reserve: further down Booyong Road from the cottage is a 13-hectare sub–tropical forest that is a remnant of the original “Big Scrub” which once covered the Northern Rivers area. You can do a short bush walk here and read about the flora and history. -Beaches: the closest beach is Suffolk Park, followed by Broken Head and Byron Bay. Wategoes beach in Byron is beautiful; as is the mouth of the river in Brunswick Heads. For a more adventurous trip, explore some of the hidden beaches along Seven Mile Beach Road – they seem a world away from the buzz of Byron. -Minyon Falls lookout in the Nightcap National Park offers stunning views of the waterfall, rainforest and coast, with opportunities for picnics and barbecues. Beautiful country drives -Drive Mullumbimby via Myocum and then on to Brunswick Heads. Head into Bangalow and then drive along the highway towards Byron Bay but turn left at the top of the hill onto Coolamon Scenic Drive, take a right onto Possum Shoot Road and head down the hill, turn left onto Myocum Road and follow it through the valley until ends, turn right and head into Mullumbimby. Follow the signs on to Brunswick Heads. -Drive to Byron Bay over Hayters Hill. Head straight through Bangalow, continue straight under the Pacific Highway and along Bangalow Road until it ends, then follow the signs into Byron. -Drive to Federal via Springvale Road, past Eureka. Then head back to Bangalow along Coolamon Scenic Drive. Gorgeous views and lots of honesty boxes where you can collect farm fresh local goodies.
  • We had the most amazing time, perfect relaxing getaway. Waking up with the breeze flowing through the rooms and countless bird life was so serene and magical.

  • The best part of the world, paradise and history in one location.

  • Kim and Rob were delightful hosts. The property is amazing, tranquil, beautiful and includes a free view of the stars. The house is huge with all the modern things you will need. Highlight was of course the bath, but just sitting out on the verandah. Kim, Rob, the dogs and the horse all make it a special experience to stay. Highly recommend and I will return for another visit.

    Greg2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute heaven, wish we could have stayed forever. Beautiful place, great hospitality, we had a wonderful time.

    Daniel2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Imagine a place on the planet that is an oasis of perfect peace, soaked in quietude and the beauty of nature. As if slipping down a timestream to a gentler era, we slid sideways away from chatter and busyness and began to sleep deeply here every night in the antique bedroom while crickets serenaded our dreams. There is a wonderful library full of interesting books that will draw you in and a reading room like a Zen monastery to consume them in. There is a stream that wends through the lowlands here where catfish and an eel live and frogs sing. You can dine and BBQ here beneath the architectural jewel that is the picnic gazebo. You will wake to the alarm clock of kookaburra song. They will also notify you when the day is done. There is everything you need . There is more. Here is your next move towards the betterment of your life: stay here . As long as you are able.

  • Kim’s place was everything we could have hoped for (and more!)- my boyfriend and my accomodation had fallen through in Byron after the flooding and we booked last minute hoping to find somewhere to relax and enjoy while the rainy weather passed. We could not have been more pleased with the what we found- it is magical! The house is homey and warm with great views of the property, lots of space, a meditation room and the bathroom is to die for. The property is lush and peaceful but only a ten min drive from bangalow. Kim and her partner rob were so hospitable and really went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay- we couldn’t leave the property because of the weather and they made us a little basket with supplies for breakfast and dinner to tide us over. Ella and Loui (the dogs) are gorgeous too! I feel so lucky to have stayed in such a beautiful place with such kind people. Couldn’t fault it.

    Claudia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A stay at The Glen is highly recommended. Kim is a wonderful host, the cottage was sparkling clean and very comfortable with everthing that you need. The setting on the farm is really tranquil and relaxing, we had an amazing stay there. We Would love to go back! Thank you Kim and Rob

    Angela2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • ‘The Glen’ is a wonderful place. It is well located - with Bangalow, Byron Bay and other villages and beaches within easy reach. The accommodation is historic and comfortable and the host has, with care and attention, provided almost anything one might need for a stay. All of the rooms are airy and light, the verandas deep and shady. The bedlinen was crisp and white as was the linen tablecloth covering the kitchen dining table! The bathroom is superb with many windows looking out over the landscape. The accommodation is situated adjacent to rainforest and the overall effect is one of being surrounded by green. This place is so quiet, peaceful and serene. So good! In addition, the host Kim is warm, energetic, engaging and incredibly responsive to the needs of guests – not that I had to call on her much because the accommodation is so comfortable and well equipped. This place is not only beautiful, one also feels superbly well looked after (and I do not mean that the host hovers but that she has paid such great attention to what her guests might need). Most highly recommended.

  • The Unit was very comfortable and clean, Alex was friendly and helpful, there if you had any queries, but respects your privacy. The kitchen has a lot of amenities including a coffee pod machine, stove, microwave. There was a barbecue for units use. An extra bonus for animal lovers was Toby the dog (a bit of a character), a horse and two ponies, and chickens. The unit is set in a lovely quiet farm area on the edge of Alstonville, but just a short drive to town

  • What an amazing place! This cute little cottage has the feel that it’s completely in its own secluded little world despite the main house being next door. Complete with amazing styling and gorgeous touches to make it feel like home, nothing can beat sitting out the back and listening to the serious of birds, rushing water and the breeze in the trees. The entire place was neat, clean and so comfortable to be in. Colleen was also amazing, greeting us on our arrival, showing us through the place and allowing us access to walk around the property to explore the creek. Although it’s 30 minutes to Byron Bay, it didn’t phase us given how stunning this place was. Will definitely be coming back again and again!

    Ellen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stylish cottage on a huge property with so much wildlife. Swim in the creek each morning, see the turtles and if you are lucky, which we were a platypus. Great verandah for evening meals, bbq and stars to watch. Highly recommend only 15 mins to Ballina and 30 mins to Byron. Set in the hinterland away from it all. • Beautiful, serene place, lovely views & exceptional super-host who gives the place her personal touch & provided us with a lot of local information and tour ideas. Our privacy was respected and it was lovely to be asked about our dietary requirements for the supplied breakfast & yummy cookies. Thanks Nieta!!!

    Sigalit2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Nietta was the absolute best host; from the breakfast basket with gluten free choices, local product and a freezer meal as she ‘knew we would arrive late after a long drive’ to thoughtful touches like the umbrellas in the garage (so we don’t get wet walking up to the studio) and the endless ideas of restaurants and ‘things to do in the area’. The view is stunning and it was amazing to watch the wallabies in the garden. We left feeling more calm and recharged as ever!

    Regitze2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a pleasure to have been able to stay at Nietta and Jim's house, warm and welcoming people. I was treated with great care. I felt like at home. All the little attention to me made my stay unforgettable. the studio is autonomous and beautiful. The sunrise lying in the bed is breathtaking. I recommend this wonderful place to everyone. It will be a pleasure to meet you again during next stay in Australia. PS Nietta's cookies are amazing as mentioned by many. thank you again for everything and be well my friends

    Eric2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing weekend, beautiful views, tasty cookies and such a peaceful and relaxing vibe. A wonderful way to spend our Valentines weekend 😍 Thank you! 💕

    Nicolette2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was hands down the best part of our honeymoon!! The room was absolutely incredible, Nietta has put so much thought and love into everything, from the room itself, to the guests stay and experience. Nietta & her husband Jim went above and beyond and made us feel so special - they left us a beautiful handmade note congratulating us on our recent marriage (which we will treasure forever) and they even brought us a candle as a little wedding gift!!! It was such a sweet gesture. Nietta was even kind enough to leave us her homemade macadamia cookies (which were the most delicious cookies we have ever eaten). All of the amenities were fantastic and the view - WOW!!!!!! You will not be disappointed if you stay here. It was the most relaxing experience and it is 100% one of Airbnb’s hidden gems!! Well worth every cent! Nietta and her husband Jim are such wonderful people and we are very grateful that we got to know them throughout our stay. We will definitely be back but we will make sure we stay for a much longer period of time next time :) thank you so much for everything Nietta! Xxxx

  • Best Air B&B that my wife and I have ever stayed at. Clean, quiet (lovely rural setting), very modern and comfortable with an amazing host that goes to extra trouble to make your stay special.

    Barry2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This has to be one of the best Air BnB’s we have EVER stayed in!! We can not fault one thing about the property, communication, host ect ect. Location was perfect and just what we needed coming from busy Brisbane. The property was sparkling clean and the view from it was amazing! We were able to unwind and use the pool which was fantastic. Just 30 mins from Byron Bay if you want to go out for the day! Nietta was a fabulous host and we cannot wait to return! The cookies were also a great touch!! Thanks again :)

    Chloe2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nietta was a wonderful host and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She met us on arrival and showed us around the studio. We enjoyed the clean amenities, the beautiful outdoor environment with wallabies and birds, and had fun swimming in the pool. We also enjoyed her wonderful homemade biscuits that she shared. It was a great place to stay in the area.

  • We had a fantastic weekend at Tourmalet Farm. It was huge, comfortably fitting our large group. The house was modern and well appointed, we had all the comforts of home but in the middle of a farm. We’d happily recommend Charlie’s little slice of paradise.

    Bernadette2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Charlie's place was fantastic, the house had plenty of room for our group of 10 for a girls weekend. The living room was so much more gorgeous than in the pictures, excellent kitchen, lovely areas to hang by the pool and on the deck. We didn't want to leave!

    Mariel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie’s house is huge. There was a double bedroom for all of the 5 women in our party and most of us had our own en suite. We cooked the entire weekend and other than some lovely local walks did not need to leave the house. The decor is spot on. A lovely combination of Byron beach chic and French countryside. No need to bring board games as they are all there for you. As are ample coffee pods. Fabulous quiet country weekend.

    melinda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend , the house was spectacular as was the position. The amenities were spotless and the house had a warmth just like home . We can’t wait to go back . Thanks Charlie and Martha you are terrific hosts

    Thomas2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in a stunning part of the world, we would love to go back one day.

    Juliana2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was fantastic at Charlie's farm. The house was well beyond our expectations. The living area was simply stunning- the fireplace was a real bonus and kept us warm on the chilly nights. Toasting marshmallows was a big hit with the children. We were a big extended family and there were plenty of rooms to accommodate us. It was such bonus to have a beautiful bathroom for each of the main rooms. The beds were all so comfortable and the rooms were simple yet elegantly styled. The kitchen and living areas were spacious and the outdoor areas and verandah's were fantastic. It will be a weekend that we will remember fondly. Thanks Charlie for sharing your home and catering to all our needs.

    Susie2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie's place is just stunning. From the pecan grove beside the house to the wonderful open fireplace inside, everything is set for a luxurious getaway with space for the whole family. The location is perfect - secluded enough to feel connected to nature but close enough to little country towns to find coffee and boutiques. We had such a wonderful time that we are already planning a return visit (in part to settle the table-tennis battle that we started on the back veranda!

    Simone2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house for the whole family, including our much loved dog! The house was much bigger than we expected and we loved sitting in front of the fire in the chilly evenings. Thank you Charlie!

  • Marisa and Matthew were wonderful hosts and were always available to chat or give us tips around the area. The place was very clean and in a really great spot. We really loved playing with Charlie and seeing Bruno around the property. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

  • The accommodation of Marisa and Matthew is located in the beautiful hinterland of Byron Bay amidst a beautiful landscape. The cottage is perfectly equipped and very tastefully decorated. Our hosts informed us with great tips and were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay there, unfortunately the 4 nights were too short ........

  • Peaceful, private tranquil property. Very comfortable and we'll equipped living space. Kerry and Ashley could not have been more helpful. I am missing their place already. Thanks

  • My partner and I stayed for the weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Kerry and Ashley were very friendly and welcoming! The property is so gorgeous and we hope to be back some day!

  • It's definitely the special experience which I stayed in Australia. The caravan locates at a old couples' farm with beautiful view. Kerry and his husband give us some vegetables which we collect from their yard, actually on a small slope with many kinds of plant, vegetables, flowers, trees. We love that place very much. And thank you Kerry for your Turkey mince.

  • Absolutely beautiful place. So peaceful and a lovely view. Kerry was so welcoming and made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she made sure we were set up for the night. We were offered some veggies from her garden and she gave us some aloe Vera for our sun burn. Everything was spotless and I can’t fault a thing. I wanted to stay longer! Definitely recommend to everyone.

  • This is a really sweet place to stay - very peaceful & cosy & location is great. Kerry & Ashley are lovely people with heaps of local knowledge. Highly recommend.

  • Outstanding place to stay. The view was amazing and the space was perfect with every amenity I needed.

  • Wow, where do I start? This place was 100x better than the photos and the hospitality from Kerry & Ashley were out of this world. I have never stayed with such friendly hosts. They allowed us our privacy but made it clear they were there for anything we required. Kerry even allowed us to pick up some veggies from her garden and gave us a grand tour of the van and gardens. The location is stunning about a 30 min drive to Byron centre but perfectly peaceful. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had all the amenities necessary for a great feast and there were even some amazing board games provided for us to enjoy. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would stay again. The stars in the nightsky were also a highlight of our trip, the air was so clear and peaceful and we could see them through our roof window in the van! Highly recommend.

  • We loved our stay here. Kerry and Ashley are lovely hosts who spent a lot of time showing us around their gardens and giving us cuttings, vegetables etc. it is a great place to stay and we really enjoyed the outside space with lovely views over the hills. They were able to give us some good local tips and we had a great night at Eltham. We look forward to getting back and exploring the area some more.

  • Beautiful place to stay.

  • Patsy's place was just the tonic we needed to recharge very flat and tired batteries to once again face the rigours of the year ahead! The setting is beautiful, lush and green, drawing one back into nature and slowing life down enough to draw breath again. Patsy and David are warm, friendly and easy going hosts that immediately make you feel relaxed and at home. Rigby and Scout are the resident dogs who are both gentle, loving characters who enjoy chasing a stick into the soothing creek as much as a pat and scratch. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Patsy's welcoming cottage! We hope to return again one day soon.

  • We really enjoyed our weekend at Patsy’s studio accommodation in Teven. The property is beautiful, lush green lawn studded with mature trees and frangipani. The little river was very special, with water rushing over rocks and fish and platypus in residence. The surrounding area is very beautiful and there are lots of good cafes and restaurants nearby. The Eltham Hotel and the Eltham Pantry ( a lovely restaurant on a Pecan farm) are both a short drive along gorgeous country roads shaded by tall avenues of trees.

  • Like a little slice of paradise. This is a cute little cottage located on a beautiful property in a very special part of the world. The property has wonderful open areas to roam by the fast flowing creek and plenty a spot to relax far removed from the world. The property is fantastically located, in the Byron Hinterland, a short drive to Byron, Ballina or any of the hinterland towns, close enough to all activities, markets etc, but far enough away to escape to. This is our 5th stay at the cottage (my husband and myself) and we plan on returning again next year. We love it!
