  • This was our second time staying here, and it was just as perfect. The house is so cozy, and so clean, and every detail is considered. Everything you need to cook is in the kitchen, and there's a fire already going for your arrival. Beds are comfortable, wifi is great, and the stargazing is unparalleled. We had a great time and we'll definitely be back.

  • A wonderful space with a beautiful location regardless of weather. Host was willing to answer any and all questions. The space is exactly like the description and pictures.

  • We had an amazing time at Olivia's Lakehouse for a long weekend away! Our group was three couples that were looking to get away for a weekend and do a bit of skiing. Since the skiing wasn't our main focus, this property fit our budget but was still close enough to access on a day trip. Olivia's communication was excellent from the beginning and she got back to me within 10 minutes every time I sent a message. I asked if it was possible to check in a bit early and she not only allowed that but had a fire going for us upon arrival. It was a very warm and inviting space The house was very well furnished and clean to everyone's liking. There was even wine and chocolates waiting for us when we arrived. Everything was provided in the house and all we needed to do was buy food. Everything was truly beyond expectation and all of our guests were happy with the choice in lodging! Definitely recommend Olivia and her Lakehouse!!

  • Wonderful space, sweetly decorated and thoughtfully done. Fire going when we arrived and sweet welcome goodies. I would definitely stay here again.

  • If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay off the beaten path in northern Michigan, look no further. The house is big and has a lot of charm, but it also comes with a great view of Moon Lake. The hot tub in the winter is a definite must! You can’t go wrong with this property!

    Marques2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We came up to celebrate my moms 60th birthday with the family. What a great weekend it was! The cabin is beautiful, such a great location and Olivia’s little extra touches are the icing on the cake. We will most definitely be looking to come back!

    Dina2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was great! Everything was as shown or better than the pictures! Olivia was very accommodating and we are hoping to stay here again soon!!

    Jeremy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The home is absolutely adorable and the location on the lake offers some beautiful views. Went for a weekend girls trip, there was plenty of places to sleep, things to do and the hot tub was a wonderful addition. Olivia herself responded quickly, and was very helpful. She allowed us to check in an hour earlier to help accommodate a work call and arranged a plow (we got snow) to come dig us out if needed. Overall a great experience, with this being my first Airbnb stay I was impressed greatly. Trust me when I say the photos just don’t do the stay justice, Its beautiful and the house is so cute and cozy. Highly recommend

  • Spending the weekend up there was super relaxing and felt like I was spending a few comfortable days at my mom's cottage. It was ridiculously clean and felt like there was everything I needed to get away for the weekend to unwind. If Michigan weather would have cooperated kayaking would have totally been on our itinerary!! This place is great!

  • Comfortable getaway, near cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails. Nothing too fancy-this is an up north cabin! Kitchen pans, utensils, etc-everything you need to cook a meal. We appreciated that coffee was provided. Great price for a place to stay with our 2 dogs! Markus was friendly and helpful.

  • Awesome cabin. Near snowmobile trail. Accommodating and cozy.

    Amanda2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to ride your snowmobile or motorcycle. The sledding trails can be accessed 200 yards away from your front door and they are beautiful and well groomed. It was nice to be able to unload my sled and ride from the front door all weekend. Far less traffic on the trails than farther west. Food, fuel, basic sled parts are available right in town. Local roads are perfect for cruising on 2 wheels. Canoeists and kayakers (sp?) can easily access the legendary AuSable River just a few miles away Markus is an awesome host who goes above and beyond what many host do. The neighbors are great too. Markus knows the area and can answer any questions you might have. My dog escaped (totally my fault) while I was riding and neighbors saw her, kept her, and contacted Markus who rescued her for me. God bless small towns and the values of the people who live there. The cabin is perfect for families or couples coming north to enjoy the scents and scenery. It was clean and ready for my arrival. It was stocked with everything I needed to cook - stove - microwave - coffee pot - it was all there. The drive was plowed and ready when I arrived. We had several inches of snow fall and the drive was plowed daily. I highly recommend this cabin for people coming to the Luzerne/Mio/Lewiston area.

  • What can I say, Jerry is a wonderful host! The description of the Cabin in the Woods is spot on. Jerry went above and beyond to make sure all of our expectations were met and we had a great time. The forest behind his property gave us plenty of land to explore and a chance to escape the noise from the city. The amenities of the cabin made our visit very comfortable. This was the 2nd time staying here and we will be coming back for a 3rd. If your looking for a quiet getaway or a place to relax with friends you won't be disappointed.

  • What a great overnight stay we had. Joelle and Jerry thought about every detail. I am not great at “roughing it” and felt comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed a few glasses of the complimentary wine. The cabin, outhouse and property were clean and well taken care of. The cabin and outhouse were warm, and so charming. We loved our guided tour of the property and cannot wait to return! Thank you!

  • This place was PERFECT for us. We are from the city but often go backcountry camping/canoeing and appreciate this type of air bnb setting. If you want a quiet secluded place to get away from it all, this is the place for you. The cabin was perfect, if you are the type of person who doesnt require much and can live with simple amenities. The dog on the property is very friendly and sweet! The trails literally start the moment you step outside of the cabin. The electric heater and electric blanket kept you cozy if you dont want to use the woodstove provided. When we arrived to the cabin, it was warm and cozy and the TV was playing Christmas music! It was the first snow fall I've seen this year and it was absolutely stunning. Joelle and Gerald are so sweet and personable and very accommodating. We are definitely coming back. 5 stars!

  • Jane and Dallas have a very nice set-up for their Airbnb. The price was amazing, Jane is extremely friendly and accommodating, and the house was phenomenal to stay in. My friend and I went up for a weekend muzzleloader hunt on a tract of public land nearby and Jane even woke up early to make sure we had breakfast. Both days breakfast was super good and Jane made us feel like we were her own boys the whole trip! Strongly recommend this airbnb and will be back in the future. Thanks Jane!

The cabin includes one bedroom with a queen bed, one queen sofa sleeper, one bath, a laundry room, and a fully stocked kitchen (microwave, coffee pot/filters, toaster, pots, pans, utensils, etc). There's plenty of room for trailer parking. Camping trailers would be an additional $15 per night (110 hook-up only). ** Please excuse our mess while we remodel the front of the cabin (adding a covered porch). Pictures to follow once project is completed.**
The cabin is located in Mio, about a mile West of McKinley, in the heart of the Huron-Manistee National Forest. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful and full of nature. Mio has all of your shopping needs and is about a 10 minute drive. Their shops include a feed store, a general store, a shoe and boot store, a bulk food store, several bakeries, a greenhouse, furniture stores, and a lumber yard, just to name a few.

  • Linda and Jim have an exceptional space both inside and out. Most impressive is the garden with an abundance of flowers cascading down their walkway. Coffee in their garden is a joy as is their welcoming hospitality. This is more than a place to stay, it is a nature highlight!

    Nancy2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay. Jim and Linda go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They have suggestions on where to eat and things to do in the area. Would definitely stay with them again.

Cottage on 4 acres with 400' frontage on Mainstream Au Sable River. Conveniently located on a county road 7 miles from town of Mio. Porch with a swing and a large deck offering superior view of the Au Sable. Firepit and bench at the river's edge. Woodsy location with spectacular fall colors. Cottage interior consists of 3 bedrooms, 3/4 bath (shower only, no tub), fully equipped kitchen, dining area and a massive brick, dual-sided fireplace, a focal point of the living room.
Although you will probably want to spend most of your time exploring the great outdoors, either by land, river or lake, you will return to a comfy, nature-inspired cottage decor, with all the amenities of home, including wi-fi, internet, cable tv, over a hundred DVDs, and lots of board games for the times you just want to hang out at the cottage and just relax.
Mio is a small, mid-Michigan town showcasing ways to enjoy the Au Sable River, including canoeing, tubing, rafting, fishing and swimming. Mio is also home to a small Amish community. So don't be surprised if you see a horse and carriage or 2 while driving about. There is a great Amish bakery a short distance from the cottage. Pies, breads, cookies and especially yummy cinnamon rolls are perfect to munch on while watching tv or to enjoy with morning coffee or tea at the cottage. The wooded areas around the cottage are home to abundant wildlife, including deer, coyotes, raccoons, porcupines, turkeys, eagles and bear. Please be mindful not to leave food unattended on the deck or outside near the house where one of these critters can smell it. They can get aggressive and destructive when it comes to food.

  • Absolutely amazing cabin. We had a blast! So cozy and comfortable and Scott and Vicki are great at responding if need to be in touch!!

    Jamie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a wonderful stay here. We came to give our son his first experience with fishing and succeeded at that. I had some pretty high expectations based on the reviews others had left and was not let down. In fact we found it was better than expected and had a beautiful family vacation. Everything from the cleanliness of the site, the ease of check in and use of the place to the amazingly thoughtful touches throughout lent to the marvelous experience we had here. It is cozy and relaxing, quiet and peaceful but also close enough to town to where if you forget something you can figure it out. Scott and Vicki also had some nice recommendations as well and were very helpful. We will be keeping this location in our minds when planning future fishing trips.

    Jonathen2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Right on the river, the home has anything you could need, and the tranquil setting was a much needed get away. We would recommend this for anyone looking to get away from it all and enjoy what the river has to offer. Their home far exceeded any of our expectations. They even had a panini press! We can't say enough positive things about this cottage. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

    Allison2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin for our kayaking trip!

    Brooke2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a clean, cozy and comfortable location to enjoy nature and some tubing or kayaking, this is the place!! Our family enjoyed the location and the homey feeling. We also took a nice ride on tubes, down the river to the home with the help of the Parmalee Trading Post - Mark and Zach. They picked us up, provided the tubes and picked them back up at the cabin. Great overall vacation experience!! Highly recommend.

  • Tim was very good to us , helped me with everything that I needed to know , place was clean and big, good for shooting and hunting , I will be back forsure

    Ack2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My dog and I loved this place. There’s nothing quite like being in a forest in winter, hearing the trees creak in the wind and subzero temperatures stealing your breath. We had a blast exploring the area around the cabin, following deer tracks into the woods and feeling miles away from everything despite the highway being only yards away from the door. At night, stepping out and just looking up—thousands of stars in the sky. Make no mistake: This isn’t a mansion with a finished basement and a hot tub or a trendy canvas tent perfect for an Instagram influencer. This place is a little out there, but in a good way. If you love the idea of going outside, though, Tim’s cabin is a steal for the price. On top of that, Tim himself is super helpful, friendly and responsive. If you’re on the fence about this place, just go for it. It may be “rustic,” but it’s the real deal.

Rustic permalog cabin in the heart of country living. A quick 10 minute drive from Mio in a quaint village of McKinley, this cabin is less than a 1/4 mile from the AuSable River. Close to ATV/ORV, snowmobile and hiking trails. This is a great location to make your annual hunting or fishing "camp". Several sightseeing options in and around the outlying areas that are worth the drive. Please keep in mind there is very limited cell phone service at the cabin; a great place to disconnect.
More photos coming soon!!! I'm still under renovations!! My owner just purchased me on February 14th because she LOVES me (see what I did there). Because she loves me so much, she wants you to have photos of my best me I can be. Please be patient while she helps me gussy up for you.
The cabin is located in the heart of McKinley. There are several other cabins and homes nearby. The cabin is located on a two track road so please drive slowly through the neighborhood and use caution as the road is uneven.

We expect our cleaners to clean at the same level they would for the Peak Summer season, year-round. d. We pay our cleaners a living wage. They deep clean, wash all the linens and prep each bed, regardless of how many people are on the reservation. If you are truly just staying in as a couple at the Abbott Lake House, and will not need to venture either upstairs or downstairs, we can do so at a reduced cleaning fee upon request. If we can, we will. It's the Freshwater Vacation Rentals positive guest experience mantra. Perspective: a. When a couple is staying at a large house, and using only 25% of it, do they really want the home cleaned only 25%? Of course not. b. When considering how many beds will be used, there are many variables-- Who are couples? Just friends? Family? Do all couples sleep in the same bed? Who snores? c. Yes, sometimes the cleaner will make more money on your stay than the property owner or management company. It is essential to keep the space fresh and consistently cleaned throughout the year.

  • This cabin is a great place to get away from it all. Very comfortable and secluded while also being close to town.

  • This was my first Airbnb experience. You cottage was so warm and “cozy”. Everything we needed was there for a very pleasant experience. It was just perfect with the river across the street. And the fun things to do nearby. Wineries, and a drive down to the Ausable Scenic Byway to Tawas was so nice. Loved going for walks and relaxing. Kayaking on the river was a real treat. Thank you for being so very hospitable. You both are fine hosts and will recommend your cottages to my friends and family. I would like to come back again. ❤️

    Lisa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were in constant communication making the arrival check in process seamless. Upon entering, we were very pleasantly surprised with how clean the cottage was. The garage was far beyond expectation, they had everything you needed to make your Up North trip memorable! Thank you again for a wonderful stay and we’ll be back in the summer for sure!

  • Absolutely wonderful home. I was raised in resorts with lots of amenities and my boyfriend went camping and lived outside as much as possible. I enjoyed my first ever weekend of kayaking, just sitting around the fire, and being so close to such a beautiful stretch of the Au Sable. This was a wonderful compromise and we cannot wait to come back, hopefully with friends.

    Gary2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay. The au sable river is a beautiful spot, with great wildlife. Kayaking down the river was one of the best experiences ever. Thank you!

  • Absolutely fantastic rental! Somehow, Jeff & Beth have thought of everything. There were so many thoughtful touches of hospitality that it’s hard to remember them all! Special treats for our romantic anniversary, plenty of soft, fluffy blankets to snuggle, a kitchen with every dish and utensil you could need, flavored teas and cocoa, basic condiments, candles, plenty of fluffy pillows, well placed reading lights, games, maps, magazines, books, binoculars, ear plugs beside the bed, charging stations, lovely hand soap, fresh flowers, and my personal favorite: an environment free of artificial perfumes like scented air fresheners, fabric softeners and candles! I have allergies to artificial scents and appreciated this SOOO much! Jeff provided a detailed list of area activities and restaurants, and was quick to answer any questions. Check in and out was a breeze, and the cabin itself and its setting are peaceful perfection. We can’t wait to schedule another visit!

  • The Gold Fox Lodge is as beautiful as it is in pictures. The communication with Jeff and Beth was quick and very informative. The lodge is so warm and cozy! The special touches were so nice - music playing when we walked in, the lamps and candles lit, the wine and banana bread, and the beautiful and cozy decor! We are already planning on coming back to experience more wildlife and adventures.

  • What a gem, nestled is the forest and it impresses while pulling up in the driveway. It's secluded, but if your looking for a get away to reconnect with your significant other or family, it's perfect. You can hear the stream from the beautiful porch or sit right next to the river. Everything you need it provided and even things you hadn't thought about. We had a lovely time.

I just remodeled the 1450sq' house making it handicap accessible. The entry and all main floor doors are 36" in width. There is a ramp leading to the front deck for easier access. One bathroom has a 5' shower stall with grab rails. It has both a fixed and hand held shower head for your convenience. A wall mounted mirror is tilted so you can easily see your reflection. There is a 6' archway between the kitchen/dining room and the living room. The queen bed on the main floor is at a lower height.
This is the perfect location to enjoy whatever outdoor activity you want to pursue. The house and garage are nestled nicely on a 1 3/4 acre wooded lot in an area surrounded by forest and lakes. The house is located on a paved county maintained road that is plowed in the winter, but is near the end of the pavement where it turns to gravel. The gravel leads to an orv/snowmobile trailhead app. 1/2 mile down the road. In this county you can ride your orvs on the shoulders of the road to get anywhere you care to go. The house has lake access to beautiful Oak Lake with a nice sandy beach, available only to property owners, not the public. It is quiet, and great for paddle boarding/kayaking, floating on a tube, or fishing if you're so inclined. There is a rowboat available. If you want to jetski or power boat the Lewiston area has many larger lakes with public access within 5 miles. Garland golf course is 1 and a 1/2 miles away. There is a large amount of state land surrounding the area if you care to hike or hunt. The Au Sable River is approximately 15 miles from the house if you like to fly fish or float the river by whatever means you have. In the back yard there is a nice fire pit to enjoy in the evenings, listening to the wildlife and watching the stars. There is no light pollution nearby. In the back of the house there is a large deck with patio furniture and a grill. In the front of the house there is a smaller deck shaded by pine trees with a ramp for persons requiring an easier way than steps to get into the house. The house feels warm and welcoming with many windows and a sliding door to the rear deck to allow a great view and let in lots of sunshine. There are 2 sets of lights on the main floor to fit your mood, either lower, warm light for relaxing, or bright lights for visiting, playing cards. The living room is very cozy with 2 couches, a 55" smart tv, high speed internet and Dish TV. The kitchen has all the appliances you need for your stay as well as pots and pans, dishes and yes, the all important coffee pot:).The dining area has a beautiful old wooden table and chairs. The bathrooms have been remodeled to make them comfortable for you. There is a brand new washer and dryer if you need them. There are also board games and cards if you want to stay in and enjoy each others company. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 on the main floor and 2 upstairs. The main floor bedroom has 1 queen bed and plenty of room to move around. There are dressers and nightstands and a closet. At the top of the stairs is a nice cozy alcove with a comfortable chair and a rocker and a round table to sit and talk or read. One bedroom has a queen bed and 2 fulls, dressers and a closet. The other has a queen, a full and a twin, dressers and a closet. The rooms are quite large and even with all the furniture you still have plenty of room to move around without feeling claustrophobic. The house has central heating and a/c so all rooms are comfortable.
What makes this area special is that you can enjoy any activity you want, or you can sit back and put your feet up. This area has a rich history of logging and the Steiner Museum near Comins offers an excellent peek at that era and is only 30 minutes away, and the drive is beautiful as well. There are numerous lakes, large and small within 10 miles of the location for any use you may have. The area is comprised of a large percentage of state land for recreation. You can ride your orvs or snowmobiles on the shoulders of the county roads. last, but not least, its beautiful. There are a lot of lakes in the area, large and small to accommodate any water activity you enjoy. orv, sxs, snowmobile, you name it and you can do it here.
  • Beautiful cabin, very clean. Owner has quick responses and easy check in and check out.

Our place is close to the small town of Lewiston and is located in the breathtaking Garland Lodge Resort which has four beautiful golf courses. This is up north at its best. You’ll love our place because it is conveniently located for all of the up north activities such as golfing, fishing, kayaking, hunting, snowmobiling, and orv trails. The cottage has a great blend of hotel luxury and comfort and warmth of home. The price per night includes the cleaning fee so this really is a great deal.
You will love the amenities of an upscale hotel along with the comfort and warmth of the log cabin style.
This is a secluded wooded setting on a golf course. This is a private road for the use of the home owners and Resort guests.
  • The golf cottage at Garland is just right for a guys' or gals' or small family getaway. We were there in the winter for skiing and it was just right for our group of five. Two bathrooms were ideal and the only down side was a rather small kitchen. But everything worked and the cleanliness of the place made it all worthwhile! Try it, you'll like it!

  • Loree’s place exceeded our expectations. There are not many options in this area and we were looking for a 3 or 4 star hotel equivalent that would accommodate our family of 4. The cottage was very clean, had plenty of space and very comfortable beds. We had no problem cooking breakfast for our family every morning and were happy to spend time outside in the evening. This area of Garland resort is beautiful and we enjoyed a run and exploring. Loree also provided thoughtful touches. The pictures do not do the cottage justice. Loree was extremely helpful and accommodated a last minute change on our end. We will certainly stay here if we are in the area again.

    Sarah2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay, place is great and the amenities were thoughtful. Loved the pool.

    Olivia2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was very clean and spacious. There were games and movies there if you were relaxing on a night in. We booked a sleigh ride at the Garland Resort and participated in their trivia night at the main lodge. downtown was close by and we went to a cute coffee shop and an art gallery. Loree's cottage was perfect and she was excellent at communicating. I will definitely book with her again! highly recommend this cabin if you're going to Lewiston.

    Suzy2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for a quiet weekend, you are in a golf development but you still have your privacy. The cottage is just as pictured, cute and comfortable. We were up riding our orv, note to fellow riders there are a lot of trails for a nice ride more novice stuff but you can put plenty of miles on. We didn’t use the clubhouse but it sounds like we should have, they have 2 pools and a hot tub so we will bring our suites next time.

  • Jerry and Joelle are wonderful hosts! They were available for any questions or concerns, (we had none, the directions to and entry into the home were very clear). The house was exactly as described...updated, clean, comfortable and in a nice neighborhood. We found everything we wanted or needed in this rental! Jerry and Joelle even included a complementary bottle of wine from the local winery. I would not hesitate to recommend this home or one of their other rentals ... Gola cabins.

We couldn't get over the sheer beauty of the surroundings and even enjoyed feeding the birds and chipmunks out of our hands. Recommend restaurant "Ma Deeters".

  • We were looking for a little adventure in a wintry cabin in the "Michigan Wilderness". Almost by accident we discovered the Copper Fox Lodge. The information gives an outstanding impression. The contact and booking was very fast and very personal. On arrival we were thrilled. Only the location is already a picture book, but also at and in the lodge is just every detail and the homely atmosphere took us immediately caught. Everything has been thought of the fridge would get our own zip code;). A night under the winter starry sky at the Fireplace with a full moon that lit up the river - unforgettable. Many thanks to our hosts Beth & Jeff and of course to Laurie, who prepared the reception so wonderfully.

Steer clear of crowds and get out in nature with a stay at this hand-crafted log cabin! Your adventure starts as you travel through oak, pine and birch forests to this secluded spot. Overlooking a small lake, White Stag Lodge is on 8+ acres, bordered by State Land with access to miles of hiking/ATV trails! Paddle in kayaks, fish for bass & bluegill or float around the lake in tubes and noodles. Stargaze from the hot tub and enjoy s'mores at the fire pit. Breathe deep & smile!
This cozy log cabin has plenty of space for families and group activities. There are two large living room areas with stone fireplaces and televisions. We also have a bar downstairs for Happy Hours! There are several gathering places outside including a large deck, screened in gazebo and fire pit area to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Our lake is spring fed and approximately 8 acres and 30 feet deep at the middle. Summer activities on site include fishing, kayaking, swimming/floating, horse shoes, corn hole, indoor darts and ping pong table. Garland Resort is close by for golfing. Lewiston for dining and larger lake activities. Mio for tubing river excursions. For swimming or floating, guests enter the water from the dock and float on tubes or noodles. We have guests that have brought along big floats as well. We also have a large wooden swim platform. Winter activities include ice fishing, sledding, outdoor fire pit, hiking in the woods. Garland resort has acres and acres for cross country skiing, sleigh rides and a Nibble and Nosh events on the weekends.
Our location feels like an adventure in the woods. There are approximately 6 miles of wooded country roads that take you to the White Stag property. However, we are only 15-20 minutes to two towns - Lewiston and Mio, where guests can enjoy dining and recreational activities such as golf, canoeing, tubing, hiking and antique shopping. We are also located close to Amish communities and their home-made products.
  • This is by far the most spectacular listing on AirBnB. The White Stag log cabin is stunning, cozy yet spacious, beautifully furnished, and styled with books, games and movies to make it feel like your home away from home. Bedrooms are graciously comfortable, bathrooms immaculately clean, and the views of the lake are breathtaking! You feel nestled in our own private slice of Nature at it’s finest, with all the modern conveniences and amenities you could ever want! Fully loaded kitchen made cooking and entertaining an absolute breeze for our party of 8, and ample amounts of firewood were cut and stored for us to use to keep both upstairs and lower level fireplaces lit to our pleasing. The hot tub, lower level game room/bar and indoor sauna is 10/10. I seriously can’t say enough wonderful things about the White Stag, our January winter wonderland, and was devastated to leave on check out day. I can only imagine how insanely beautiful and fun the White Stag is in summer months, with the full wrap around porch, screened in gazebo, and lake dock for water activities. Karen and Mark have truly thought of everything when it comes to providing their guests with the best experience possible, and it was a comfort to know that if we needed anything, they were only a phone call away. Thank you so much Karen and Mark, we are truly grateful for our stay and can’t wait to book our next trip with you!

  • When my friends and I first started to think about writing the review, we seriously debated giving a 1-star review because we didn’t want anyone else to know about this amazing place. Karen was great from the beginning- instructions to the house were spot on and the home is the perfect lake house. This place was great because you have the entire lake to yourself essentially and they have numerous activities to keep you entertained (ex: cornhole, ping pong, darts). But it was the little touches that made the place great. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway with friends or large families. The only very small drawback is that you are in the middle of no where, but as long as you plan ahead of time and bring food/drinks, it’s the perfect place. We definitely look forward to renting again in the future! Thanks again!

  • We stayed at White Stag in February to take advantage of the winter weather, cross country skiing and outdoor activities. Most XC was about 45 minute drive but the Garland Golf Club was nearby and their trails were excellent. Our group were able to get out for winter walks in the woods and enjoyed skiing on the lake out front. The house itself is very comfortable and well set up. The owners clearly put a lot of thought in to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The hot tub was a special treat! We will be back!

  • Hi Karen, Thanks again for a great stay! The house is beautiful and there was plenty of room for the 10 of us. Think we’re all in agreement that we’ll be back next November for another deer camp. Thanks again for everything!

  • This was our second year staying here and words still cannot express how amazing this place is! Karen is a wonderful host who is always quick to respond and the cabin itself is breathtaking. Tons of space and beds allowed our group of 12 to fit very comfortably and the private lake provided us wity endless fun and activities to do! If you are ever wanted a great getaway with friends or family I highly recommend this place!!

Hoffa’s Hideaway is a vintage 1930s Northern Michigan lumberjack Cabin that we have restored to its original beauty. A step above rustic camping. It is a tiny cabin 165 ft.² With its own private out house that is insulated with electricity and a small heater. A propane wall furnace is installed in the cabin. The cabin can only sleep two in the twin bunk beds. A private bonfire pit with cooking grate is located in front of the cabin. Trails abound the property.
My property here is adjoining the Huron national forest. The property is very secluded from any other neighbors although, there are two other rentals between 400 and 800 feet away and also my house which is approximately 650 feet away. This cabin is located next to the woods and trails.
  • Great hosts and great little get away! Thank you!

  • Loved this little cabin! So small and cozy. The perfect place to relax and unwind for the weekend. It is located near a ton of trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing. Joelle and Jerry were excellent hosts with great communication and we loved the thoughtful little touches of the cabin. It was so amazing that our dogs were welcome too. We had a great stay and absolutely would stay again.

  • Gerald and Joelles place was such a treat! Nestled back in the woods surrounded by other cabins and nature trails, it was the perfect retreat for my pup and I. We spent time walking trails, sitting out by the fire and cozied up in the cabin! Gerald and Joelle were exceptional hosts, made sure I had everything I needed! This place as all the rustic charm you could want along with some comfortable amenities such as a mini fridge, Keuirg and heated blankets!
