  • Such a beautiful spot! Rhonda's place is incredibly tranquil and cosy with lots of thoughtful touches. I slept very well after a long drive. The quiet at night was unbelievable. Thank you!

  • Rhonda and Frank has a wonderful property nestled in the hills surrounding Yackandandah. The cottage was located separate from the main house and we had complete privacy. The cottage is very comfortable and extremely clean. The views from the property overlooking the valley was breathtaking and the bird life was spectacular too. Yackandandah town is a quick 10min walk down the hill. Rhonda and Frank were fantastic hosts always responding to our requests. They also have a great collection of DVDs and books. The best surprise was Frodo the dog. Highly recommend a stay with Rhonda and Frank.

  • Friendly and good hospitality. A quiet spot a short walk into town. Great location if wanting to do the historical towns of Yakadandah, Beechworth etc in the Great Alpine Valley. One thing that stood out for us was the comfortable bed and pillows!

Room has queen bed and a reverse cycle split system heating/cooling system (installed Feb 2020). Welcome to my home. Just 700 metres from the main street yet outside the urban area, with hillside views, and on an acre of land private from neighbours. There's a communal, living space (kitchen/living room) with cathedral ceiling, sliding glass doors, and a guest area with two bedrooms, bathroom, toilet, laundry - each bedroom with access to the lawn via a sliding glass door. House has wifi.
The room is a queen size room with a glass sliding external door as well as a lockable internal door.
Your bedroom has a sliding glass door and screen door opening onto a lawn framed by eucalypts, and visited by many different birds. In Autumn the driveway is a myriad of colour as trees begin to lose their leaves. There is a collection of old books and DVDs (old school) which guests are welcome to use, as well as playing cards, board games, and an acoustic guitar. From here it is a short walk into town, and an easy mountain bike ride or drive to the single-track mountain bike trailhead (4.8km). Yack tracks has a network of over 50km of dedicated single track mountain bike trails, constructed on natural loam terrain - well drained in wet weather, but low dust in hot weather. The trails are higher in altitude than the town, so after a ride it is an easy roll down the hill to home. Most trails are contoured, making hill climbing an easy process, and on the way down, the flow of the trails means both experts and beginners can enjoy the ride, each traveling at a pace comfortable to them. Yackandandah has two pubs, a number of coffee venues, a supermarket, and numerous other interesting shops. Ladies, don't forget to visit Karen in Klimt for your fashion! Art lovers can visit Charles Sluga's amazing gallery, while lovers of history will be enthralled with our local museum, cemetery, and mining past.
  • Yackandandah is a perfect place for a stop over and Paul's place is wonderful. The living space and bathroom is shared as Paul rents a second room. If you are OK with that, then the place is just perfect.

    Orsola2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is just out of town but nice and quiet and a lovely outlook from the bedroom. Its well set up for guests with the bedroom/s and bathroom at the other end of the house to Paul's. Nice to have the use of the lounge and kitchen area. Enjoyed my stay.

700 metres from town, but in the countryside with views to the hills and a Eucalypt framed lawn outside your room. There is a living space featuring large, glass sliding doors to nature. This space has a beautiful wood lined cathedral ceiling and a modern kitchen with microwave, gas cooktop, electric oven, refrigerator and all food preparation necessities. The house has wifi, and at the guest end of house is one other guest room, plus bathroom, laundry, and toilet.
The room is a single bedroom with external sliding glass door, and lockable internal door for your privacy. There is a shared kitchen/living space, and shared laundry/bathroom, and toilet. There is one other room adjacent to yours, a queen size one, so it is possible that there could be up to two other guests sharing the common areas with you. Your host, Paul, has his own bedroom and bathroom at the opposite end of the house.
Yackandandah features two pubs, a number of eateries, supermarket, and assorted other retail and tourist outlets. There is a museum, art gallery, and nearby are over 50km of single track mountain bike trails. For the mountain biker it is 4.8km to the trail head, which can either be ridden or driven to, and this point, as well as the trails from the trailhead, is higher in elevation than the township, so after a ride it is an easy roll back down the hill to home. Nearby is an artisan pottery.

The cottage is small, quaint and cosy, offering everything you need for your time away. The cottage has private access to Commissioners Creek with the main street of Yackandandah at your doorstep, literally!! We have recently reduced our nightly cost by $20 and replaced this with a one off cleaning fee of $20. The intention is to encourage you to stay longer in Yackandandah so you can enjoy ALL it has to offer. Single nights, as always, are still most welcome. We look forward to hosting you!!
The cottage is a small weatherboard cottage in a regional country town. If you are looking for a weekend at the Hilton then this is probably not for you however if you want to relax and feel like one of the small country town locals then the creek cottage can tick that box. Full of basic country charm.
The house is located very close to the main street of Yackandandah so on crossing the street you have Pubs, Supermarket, Newsagency, Cafe's, Swimming pool, Parks, Galleries and Museum all within one block of the cottage so no need to drive anywhere once you arrive.
  • Rachel’s place is in a great location right on the edge of town. Very comfortable, easy communication, check in and check out and fantastic hospitality, particularly the breakfast!

    Rebecca2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Rachel’s place for one night on the way to Melbourne. It was absolutely perfect! Rachel provided everything we needed, including fresh ingredients for breakfast. The space itself is a gorgeous little cottage perfect for two. The cottage is just a few steps from the town centre, allowing us to easily get dinner at the local pub across the road (which has awesome food!) and explore the town. Highly recommend and will be back again for a longer stay!

  • This is a really great little place to stay. So close to the Main Street and has everything supplied (even breakfast) that you don’t have to leave the front door if you don’t wish to. The back yard has a little creek down the back and is nice and relaxing to just sit back under the large trees. Inside was very clean and comfortable. Easy 5 stars

  • A lovely quiet spot to relax and unwind. Hanging out on the verandah watching the gardens and wild life was the highlight. Great kitchen and lots of space. Many older features in the home which gave it some charm.

    Claire2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home and garden and was the perfect place for our family to gather to prepare for and attend our daughters wedding. Fabulous spaces and beautiful settings for photos before the wedding.

    Anne-Louise2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Picture Perfect Weekend. Not sure where to begin to say just how amazing Karalilla is. The house is just lovely. so well appointed, beautifully furnished, spectacular views and it catered to our every need. From the first glimpse of the house we new we had picked the perfect place to stay with friends while we were in Yackandandah to attend a wedding. Its the little touches that make the difference, fresh flowers, the well stocked pantry and filtered water. Did I mention the comfy beds & manicured gardens! Renee our host was so easy to deal with and communication was great. Loved our visit and already planning the next.

    Lynda2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at Renee’s place, the house and gardens are truly beautiful. It was perfect for our family get together, some members travelled from Sydney and others from Ballarat in Victoria. Renee is a very thoughtful host and the barrow of wood for the fire, the fantastic coffee machine and filtered water where very much appreciated. Highly recommend.

    Jan2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Renee’s place in a large group for a wedding. We had a fantastic time. The house and gardens are so beautiful. Each view from the windows would make a good subject for a painting. A great place for star gazing,as no light pollution. All the equipment in the house was to a very high spec. The interior of the house had some really interesting art. All in all I wish I lived there all the time.

    Jackie2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Set in a picturesque valley, with views through all the windows, a traditional substantial farmhouse has been restored, modernised and elegantly decorated to a very high standard. Eight adults enjoyed loads of space - large bedrooms and bathrooms, very big TV/ general lounge space, smaller individual lounges, and a wonderfully warm, cosy dining/lounge area thanks to the wood fire burner. Never felt cold even though it was one degree overnight. The country kitchen with large pantry a delight. And I haven’t yet mentioned the gorgeous landscaped formal garden centred with majestic huge palm tree plus fruit trees etc. Loved listening to bird song and watching them dart through the garden as we sat in the sun on a number of patios. Great design means sunny spots morning & afternoon. We all loved it so much we spent our last afternoon discussing not only our next trip but planning individual family trips with our children & grandkids.

    Keryn2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning house and location. It was so lovely to arrive and find the fire blazing on a cold, rainy day. Gorgeous gardens, flowers in the rooms, everything we needed in the house. 100% recommended!

  • A gorgeous little home in a super beautiful little town! The bath overlooking the garden was a definite highlight

    Hannah2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing time at the Sawmill cottage. The veggie patch was a particular delight - we had raspberries with breakfast and cooked a pumpkin for dinner. For me the quality of a shower can make or break an Airbnb and this shower was excellent! Overall a delightful stay, we will definitely stay again next time we are in Yack

    Gemma2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cottage close to town that was the perfect place for our stopover from Sydney to Melbourne.

  • This is such a cute and beautiful cottage. As it was Autumn when we stayed the trees in the garden surrounding the cottage were really vibrant and colourful, adding to the atmosphere of the whole place. We made good use of the wood fuelled heater, bathtub and well equipped kitchen. Perfect place to access and explore surrounding Victorian Alpine/historical towns and enjoy a red wine at the end of a day out.

    Jessica2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Was a wonderful quiet place to stay. We all loved it. So private. The kids enjoyed hunting for treasure (rocks) around the fenced in garden. The adults enjoyed sitting on the verandah having a quiet drink. Nick and Francis were very accommodating. Highly recommend

  • Lovely comfortable cottage in a bush setting. We loved the safe dog yard and they had a great time romping around. An added bonus a flock of Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos came in each morning. We loved that the fire wood was there for the cold nights and enjoyed the welcoming hamper.

  • Margie and Graham’s place is a delightfully rustic, mud-brick cottage not far from their large olive grove. Their property is set in undulating hills that form the Yackandandah Creek valley. The cottage is quiet, clean and has all the basic cooking utensils and facilities etc to more than adequately self-cater for a week or so. We were greeted by a Graham and a loaf of his freshly baked bread, made to be enjoyed with their own quality olive oil. There were also fresh milk, eggs and bacon in the fridge. In my booking email, I had mentioned that we were going to play chess while we were there. On our arrival, the chess board was already set up on the table in the cosy living area. A very nice touch. Thank you. Tanglewood cottage is a mere ten minutes out of beautiful Yackandandah with its collection of curiosity shops, cafes and two pubs (plus a reasonably sized Foodworks to buy your provisions). As such, the cottage is great base to explore this part of north-east Victoria. If you’re looking for the opportunity to spend a bit of quiet time in rural Victoria, somewhere to just chill and be happy with your own company and that of the wagtails and magpies and wrens, Tanglewood Cottage is highly recommended. We’ll be going back.

  • This country cottage is one of the places we absolutely loved it. Away from the town, but close enough to many towns like Yachandandah, Beechworth, Bright, Wodonga and Albury. Gentle rolling hills from the property is beautiful. Roses and other flowers were abundantly beautiful and walking along or sipping wine among olive trees were very peaceful. Freshly baked bread, marinated olives, their olive oil and tasty bacon and eggs were very much appreciated. They have everything you need to stay comfortably. Flowers from their garden in the base was very nice touch. Most of all Maggie and Graham were generous, attentive and kind host. We can recommend anyone who loves country retreats away from hustle of city life.

  • I highly recommend Tanglewood Estate for a quiet place to stay in the country. Situated relatively close to town shops and other local attractions as well as about 1 1/2 hours drive to Falls Creek it’s a great place to unwind during the winter. We did. We loved the small pot belly stove and combined with the air conditioning we were warm and cozy. Springtime must be amazing. Thanks Margie and Graeme. Ps. The olives and crab apple jelly were amazing. Tim Chelsea and Brendan.

  • A lovely cottage in the countryside, surrounded by rolling hills and gorgeous landscape. We had a very nice stay, enjoyed the cozy fireplace setting and walking aorund the property. A short drive (20 mins) from cute nearby towns with restaurants and cafes. Margie and Graham are great hosts. Highly recommended for a city escape to the country.

  • Perfect little getaway, the view is so beautiful and the area is so peaceful. The place was clean and tidy and had everything you needed. Fresh homemade bread courtesy of Tamsin was amazing!

    Sophie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Tamsins place. We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool, making pizza and enjoying the view. Great location felt nice and quiet. We went on some toad trips which was great too. We loved the bread and jams. Would definitely recommend staying there for a relaxing getaway. Thanks again :)

  • Amazing place, amazing swimming, amazing bread.... so TRIPLE A HOSPITALITY

    Roberto2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tamsin's place was the perfect getaway! It was clean, modern and with all the amenities we could imagine. The Swimming pool, tennis court and basketball ring over looked rolling hills and crowing roosters. As the sun set, cows and goats came back lazily over the hills. It was magical. In the morning, Tamsin even delivered freshly baked bread! I don't think I can ever forget its smell filling the entire place! Albury is just 35min drive and Beechworth 20mins. Everyone, including our dog, simply loved the experience! Thank you so much!

    Alex2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The first house without a manual ... we didn't need one either :-) It was fantastic! Despite smoke and partly bad visibility we enjoyed the accommodation very much. Jumping into the pool every now and then and otherwise relaxing and reading a book, or even two :-) The homemade bread was the best bread we have eaten in Australia until then. In addition fresh eggs from our own chickens, which we saw running around in front of the house. We loved it and will miss this delicious bread very much! Many thanks to two very dear hosts Tamsin and Matt. They are there for their guests but give 100% privacy.

    Karin2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great time at Tamsin's place. Very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoying swimming in the pool and using the tennis court. The homemade bread and fresh farm eggs was a really nice touch.

  • Immaculate place with amazing view. Great amenities, warmest hospitality, fresh made bread, free range eggs, nice swimming pool.... the list is on and on. Tamsin' family lives next door, but gives you 100% privacy during the stay. Strongly recommend. 10/10

It is a popular spot for bush walkers and cyclists, with a rail trail link between Yack and Beechworth as well as a host of mountain bike trails within four kms of the B&B. The village has a post office, several eateries, a large Foodworks grocery store, gift shops, quality and unique clothes stores, including a vintage dress shop, a chemist, bookstore/newsagency, two local pubs sporting great atmospheres and excellent food choices, Grace's Place: an authentic Thai restaurant open five nights a week, a bike shop, one of the Beechworth Bakery chain stores, Gum Tree Pies (every local loves them!!), two art galleries and several antique and/or bric-a-brac stores. Welcome to “Vandy’s Place”, an original 1950s post war colonial home being lovingly restored. Situated in the very centre of picturesque Yackandandah, just off the Main Street, you can explore all the beautiful town has to offer with less than a 2 min walk is the supermarket, two hotels, swimming pool, community food garden, restaurants, bakery and more at your doorstep. You will have the entire home to yourself so you can truly relax.
COVID-19 INFO: Please do not book Vandy’s Place if you have had recent contact with anyone returning from overseas or have recently traveled overseas. I will not accept bookings from people wishing to self isolate or quarantine themselves. Please reconsider as to whether you could be placing my family and an entire small community at risk. Willing to consider reservation requests on compassionate grounds only. This beautiful old house has sheltered 4 generations of my family and is currently being restored to retain its original character and charm. “Vandy”, my grandmother lived in the house for over 60 years, and was well known for standing at her gate speaking to everyone passing her central location. The house features a big front verandah enclosed with plantation shutters for privacy. The main bedroom has a king size four poster bed with a mattress so comfortable you won’t want to leave. Second bedroom is beautifully set out with shabby chic class - contains a Queen bed. The 3rd bedroom is off the kitchen / lounge and is setup as a library or sitting room. This contains a lounge that can be converted to a double bed. There is WiFi, a wood fire, 2 split systems, a light filled bathroom complete with shower and bath, an elegant and functional kitchen including a Blanco oven with rotisserie. Linen, including towels and basic toiletries, basic condiments, coffee and washing facilities are all supplied. Please note: this space is ideally setup for a maximum of 6 adults - bed 3 has been setup as a sitting room however has a double sofa bed. The third be will not be setup for bookings of 4 or less unless requested. I have a single trundle bed and spare mattresses for larger groups but I will not accept bookings of more than 6 guests without being contacted first so I can make sure I can cater to your group requirements prior to accepting the booking. Thanks. There is room in the driveway for 3 cars and ample parking directly in front of the house. This house is being slowly restored and I work on it between guests. Most of the restoration is complete, however you will notice there are still things I'm working on - some parts of the outside still require painting, the studio out the back is not yet complete, there is more paving to come, a pergola and garage still to build. There is a floor to be painted and finishing with decorative trim and other small details inside that you may or may not notice. If you want perfection this is not the house for you. If you like original and vintage and don't mind visiting an old house being slowly transformed - then I welcome you and know you will enjoy staying at Vandy's Place.
Situated in a leafy street in the center of historic Yackandandah Vandy’s Place is ideally located to explore the High Country, and Upper Murray region of northeast Victoria.

  • What a gem! We loved this little house. It was quirky, comfortable and beautifully located. I appreciated the comfortably soft bed and beautiful surroundings. The renovation in progress does not detract from the charm and ambience. Mish's creativity and relaxed approach to interior design really help you enjoy the peace of a little country town.

A short stroll along a dedicated pathway (approximately 800 metres) leads to Yackandandah's town centre. Yackandandah is a heritage listed town, with many preserved buildings from the gold rush era of the 1860's. Yackandandah also has wonderful walking and cycling tracks.
Motel Views Yackandandah, is a quality property surrounded by farm land with distant mountain views. Plenty of space for relaxing indoors and out, with a sparkling pool to enjoy as well. Secure covered bike storage is also available
Yackandandah is a unique destination. Besides the history and the wonderful walks and trails, folk music is alive and well here. Every Wednesday night (and usually Thursday night) the local pub (Star Hotel) has a folk band playing, locals turn up with their instruments and join in...it is truly a very special evening

  • 'The Cabin' was so lovely, we wish we could have stayed a few more nights! It's so awesome to find a place as nice as this which is dog-friendly and the fenced & gated yard was very important to us, makes it so much easier to have our little dogs safe, secure, comfortable and also have fun off-leash while travelling. Such a peaceful location and it felt great to be giving our money to someone so thoughtful and friendly who has put a lot of effort into decorating, making the cabin comfortable and using renewable energy. Thanks Sharon!

  • This is a lovely get away in a top shed which is decked out with pretty much everything you need. We stayed between Xmas and new year during the disastrous fires. It was hot and the fridge was on the blink because of the heat but we had ice and a generator for the air con thanks to lovely Pete. We escaped down to Yackandandah during the day and hung out chatting to locals in cafes and the pubs and hearing their stories. It was rewarding to be here and in our small way putting some money into the local economy during this terrible disaster. Me and the dog lay out under the night sky and watched shooting stars and searched for the Southern Cross. The guest book attests to the love travellers have for this place. Thankyou Sharon and Pete. Loved your art!

This is a beautiful property located in the Wooragee Valley. My architecturally designed solar passive modern home is situated on 100 acres with 360' views of forested and agricultural land. With the rail trail going past my door, it is a perfect spot to spend a few days exploring on foot or by bike. You can ride across my back paddock to join the historic rail trail - only 5 klms to a coffee in Beechworth.
The solar passive design of my home has the sun streaming in during the colder months, while keeping it cool and comfortable in the summer. Guests have their own private end of the house including their own bathroom.
MY NEIGHBOURS ARE A MIX OF LONG TIME FARMERS AND PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE SETTLED HERE MORE RECENTLY. IT IS A VERY FRIENDLY AREA AND YOU ARE LIKELY TO MEET LOCALS OUT ON THE TRAIL.

Garden Cottage is within our cool climate, woodland garden and so offers visitors a private and secluded stay in a stunning garden setting. The cottage is very well appointed and allows you to indulge in rest, reading or more active pursuits like tennis at the adjacent court or walking in and around the bushland of Stanley - or perhaps down to the Stanley Pub for a meal, just a five minute walk. We've recently put in a pool which sits overlooking our arboretum and chestnut orchard.
Garden Cottage is self-contained and located within our established woodland garden in the small rural township of Stanley, north east Victoria. This is quite simply a glorious spot - calm, quiet and yet just 10 minutes from historic Beechworth. One guest said it was 'head clearing' space which can't be bad! The cottage has a queen-sized bed and crisp, linen sheets. Set in an established woodland garden containing many rare and interesting plants, many people enjoy a wander in the grounds or further out into the chestnut orchard/woodland or to view our extensive vegetable/orchard areas. We find that many people want to stay simply to wind down, watch the birdlife, go for long walks, read or maybe even write that novel (and we do have writers who come to stay for lengthy periods). PLEASE NOTE - we welcome those for just one night but we do hav a SURCHARGE for a single night stay. We charge $190 for a single night stay. Our nightly rate decreases after 6 nights. Beechworth offers extensive shopping - as well as all the basics - and the selection of food and places to eat is impressive. This region is one of the most highly respected by gourmet travellers and day trips out into the wineries and beyond are always inspiring. Day trips can also include travelling up into the Alps, walking in the mountains and really experiencing just what this diverse and very beautiful north eastern landscape has to offer. We endeavour to be as environmentally responsible as we can and encourage guests to learn more of what we can all do to live more sustainably. You have all of the technology you can possibly need, new TV/DVD, a great kitchen and even a washing machine for the longer stays. And, apparently, one of the most comfortable sofas around. Finally, and of course, guests are welcome to use our swimming pool. As an accredited cycle friendly business and as cyclists, we can offer extensive local knowledge, suggestions and information for your cycling jaunts. Please feel free to ask for further information. Thank you - do come and see us. (URL HIDDEN)
Stanley is a small rural hamlet originally established around gold mining in the 1860's. Though the local shop no longer operates the Pub is popular and there are many coffee/eating locations in nearby Beechworth. Being up in the hills we have a sub alpine climate so tend to be cooler in the summer and even get a fall of snow in winter.
  • Cosy cabin amongst lovely gardens with everything you need. A nice, short walk into the town.

  • Nicole and David’s Place is situated in the beautiful Victorian countryside between Albury and the historic town of Beechworth. The place is quiet, with beautifully appointed bedrooms overlooking the hills. We had the entire first floor to ourselves, which comprised 2 bedrooms, a spacious lounge room with a kitchenette and a bathroom. It is an ideal stopover on your way from Sydney to Melbourne. Beechworth is the place to visit to learn about the legendary Ned Kelly gang and enjoy the historical and cultural aspect of Victoria. Nicole and David are fantastic hosts. Nicole made sure we had enough supplies for a lovely breakfast and made us feel at home. We can’t recommend this home highly enough. Thank you and Happy New Year!

Jenny is the hostess with the mostest, always available to help with the AGA wood fire cooker, laundry or local tips. She was easy and quick to communicate with, flexible and super friendly. Caddy's cabin offers amazing rural views from a comfortable fully self contained one bedroom cabin. Enjoy local wineries and historic gold mining towns. Come and stay at Caddy's Cabin in Kergunyah at the foothills of Mt Big Ben, the gateway to North East Victoria's high country and all the region has to offer with it's amazing food and wine. Our cabin backs onto State Forest and it's appeal is it's unique ruggedness and remoteness, yet it's only a thirty minute drive into the township of Albury/Wodonga. Caddy's Cabin is in prime position as it is a comfortable drive to beautiful towns such as Bright and Beechworth being merely forty minutes away. Ideal for bush walkers, you may even spot wild deer, kangaroos and wombats, Perfect location for snow bunnies as Falls Creek and Mount Bogong are not too far away, or for those who want to simply sit back and soak in the natural beauty at Caddy's Cabin with a wine and enjoy the sunset. We invite you to come and enjoy the serenity and peaceful surroundings. Our home is located 700m from Caddy's' Cabin. Upon arrival, we love to make quests feel welcome and show them around. However we are very mindful of giving guests their own space, and unless they come to our homestead we are happy to leave them be. We love the community feel about Kergunyah. We feel safe, we are surrounded by wonderful neighbours though we can barely see them! There is no public transport to our Cabin.

  • We had a wonderful time at Caddy's Cabin. Mieke and Barry were so welcoming and helpful and the Cabin had everything you could need for a short or a longer stay. It was sparkling clean and very homey and welcoming. There were big variances in temperature during our stay but the air-con made it cool on hot days and the cabin was also warm on the colder evenings. We had great walks on the farm and made friends with a local King Parrot, who would come for a visit everyday. Thanks to Mieke and Barry for being so great and for making our stay at Caddy's Cabin lovely. We will definitely be back :)

    Teresa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly beautiful cabin, property, and hosts! My partner and I spent two nights here and didn’t want to leave. The views are extraordinary, and the little touches Mieke and Barry have included make it additionally special. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed anywhere as spotlessly clean or homely as Caddy’s, nor anywhere with such hospitable hosts. We were also lucky enough with the weather to enjoy an outdoor fire under the stars, which absolutely sealed the deal! The photos do not do this place justice, and I’d heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend (or longer!) of tranquility, rest and rejuvenation.

    Sara2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a peaceful weekend here. Woodonga is only 25 mins away but it was secluded enough to feel like you're right out of town. The wildlife and visit from a very curious King Parrot were a highlight, as were Barry and Mieke's generous hospitality. Thank you- we will definitely be back!

    Emma2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit to this wonderful slice of heaven. Great hospitality from Barrie and Mieke including a lovely freshly baked loaf of bread. Caddies Cabin was private, quiet, cosy and just what we needed for a long weekend break. The cabin has lovely views, lots of wildlife around and is in a great location to visit some great country towns. So good that we'll be back for another stay.

    Toni2019-11-05T00:00:00Z

  • We really enjoyed our time at Caddy's Cabin with Mieke and Barry. They were both lovely hosts, the cabin had an outlook that is second to none in the Kiewa Valley - just beautiful! To wake up in bed, look out the window through the trees and see the sun rising over the hills is a delightful way to start the day. Thanks very much for a great stay - would highly recommend to escape life's hustle and bustle! thanks again to you both.

Indigo Hideaway, 10min from the beautiful historic town of Yackandandah, is a self-contained recycled timber cabin on our rural property.
Indigo Hideaway is a hand-crafted and beautifully finished cabin set amongst established oak trees and surrounded by greenery. It is ideal for romantics, readers, writers and explorers. The Indigo Hideaway is a cute mix; it's part cabin, part tiny house. There is a queen size bed with an electric blanket, two comfy arm chairs, a table and a small, modern ensuite. The reading loft is a lovely space to relax, complete with super-sized bean bag and cushions, accessed by a retractable ladder. It's the perfect place to enjoy the selection of quality books, magazines and DVDs (bring your own laptop) from the bookshelf. The kitchenette has a toaster, kettle, microwave and snazzy pod coffee machine. It is not equipped for cooking meals but guests can reheat pre-prepared meals in the microwave and there are terrific eateries in nearby Yackandandah and surrounding towns of Beechworth and Albury/Wodonga. A generous breakfast hamper is provided. Thanks to the wonders of reverse cycle heating the Indigo Hideaway is warm and cosy in winter and cool in summer.
Indigo Hideaway is set off a tree-lined avenue in Allans Flat. We are a very short drive (or leisurely walk or bike ride) to the Allans Flat waterhole, a beautiful safe swimming spot, and the strawberry winery. It is an easy 10 minute drive to the vibrant community of Yackandandah, an historic gold mining town nestled in the hills. Yackandandah is brimming with art studios/galleries, cafes, pubs, a museum, a bakery, a supermarket, a news agency and quirky shops. Beechworth is 25 minutes away and wonderful day trips to the gourmet region of Milawa and the snow fields of Mt Buffalo and Falls Creek are easily possible.

  • Kate's cottage nestled on a farm with a sky that turns into a starry wonderland at night was pure magic. The cottage was quaint and delightful and the breakfast, fresh flowers and warmed bed... were further touches that enchanted us.

    Sharron2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay! The cottage was very clean, very convenient- close to the lake and a short walk to the town. Thanks so much Jan!

    Shenae2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's cottage is a great little private place to explore Beechworth from. It was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and is conveniently located for walking into town in one direction or around Lake Sambell in the other. Jan met us shortly after arrival to introduce herself, give us some local tips and assure us she was available close by if we needed anything during our stay. I can highly recommend staying at Peach Cottage to other solo or couple travellers.

  • Janet's place is just what we need for our little Beechworth weekend away. The house is sparkling clean - in fact cleaner than my own place! Bed was extremely comfy. We have had two amazing night's sleeps. What a gem!

    Angela2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous getaway with everything you need to make a comfortable and homely stay in Beechworth. Right on the bike trail which was super handy for us doing the track and a short stroll into town. In bad weather we just took a taxi which was very easy. Full cooking facilities and set in a beautiful natural landscape. We enjoyed the details, like a deck of cards, matches, bottle openers, towel racks and pretty much anything you might need. Thanks for having us!

Wee Varrich nestles within a delightful landscape; a fusion of carefully sculptured plantings of trees, shrubs, hedges, lawns and vines, against the power of the Stanley State Forest. Situated on the edges of Stanley village, the entrance to Varrich is a winding path through tall eucalypts. The property is situated on 2.49 hectares on land that was mined during the Gold rush era of the 1850’s. Wee Varrich is a fully self-contained cottage adjacent to the main house and secluded by plantings.
Guests have access to the entire garden and its surrounds. Wee Varrich is situated 9kms from the historic gold mining town of Beechworth which is well known for its preserved buildings, wine and food.
  • Fantastic stay, thoroughly enjoyed every part of the stay and the hosts were very friendly (including the pets :) )

    Lachy2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is private and well located against the beautiful forest. Hosts are fantastic.

    Steve2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint & cosy in a lovely bush setting. Host Sally & David were welcoming & didn't impose. Bed was super comfy & there were nice extras.

    Sue2019-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Wee Varrich. The place had everything we needed (and more) for a weekend away, including a very comfortable king bed. The location is great - set on a beautiful property where you wake up to the sounds of nature and see echidnas walking in the garden, but also very close to Beechworth. Sally and David were very welcoming hosts, and we particularly enjoyed the homemade sweets and jam.

    Jessica2019-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wee Varrich exceeded all expectations. The space is beautifully styled with thoughtful touches to make it feel very homely. Sally and David were great hosts with great tips and friendly chat, but also plenty of privacy. I couldn’t find any faults. A very comfortable stay with lovely amenities. We would definitely stay again.

  • A lovely home away from home. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and spotlessly clean!

    Amanda2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this cottage based on previous reviews and photos and it exceeded all our expectations. The cottage is simply immaculate. It is fully self-contained with everything you need. It is beautifully decorated, very tranquil and private with the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in while travelling. Sally & David are the most generous and thoughtful hosts and their wonderful pets were an unexpected bonus! We will definitely go back

  • Sweet little cottage within walking distance to town. A lovely playground across the road for the kiddos. Wiggy our host, left us with a beautiful loaf of just baked sourdough, my kids couldn't get enough of it slathered in butter scrambled eggs (from Wiggy's hens). Thanks for having us Wiggy, we'll definitely be back!
