  • It isn't possible to say too many good things about June's bungalow. The location is so tranquil and so beautiful. Morning coffee, gazing out at the pond, watching the ducks and sunrise. A pellet stove to keep us warm and cozy when temperatures dropped. Abundant towels and culinary supplies. Lovely neighbors. This really felt like a home, not a hotel. June was super responsive, caring but not intrusive. My dog and I would go back in a minute, and we both highly recommend it to other human and canine guests. Both are equally welcomed!

  • June’s place was the perfect cozy getaway and her hospitality exceeded our expectations! The pellet stove was easy to use so we could make it extra cozy during our late December stay. We were easily able to checkin with a lock box and was greeted with yummy treats for us and our two dogs. This Airbnb is the perfect place if you have behaved pups. We set up dog beds in the living room and they loved the pellet stove. The yard isn’t fenced but there’s plenty of space for them to run around while we enjoyed the view of the pond. June had all of the kitchen gadgets for cooking making it easy to stay in for meals. We found a hiking trail just 5 minutes away called “red trail to blue trail” on the All Trails app. Very easy trail with little to no incline but perfect for a short walk with the dogs. The neighborhood is quiet but in just a short drive you can be in the fun town of Mystic! We’d move into this adorable bungalow in a second that’s how much we loved it. You won’t be disappointed!

  • June’s place is beautiful! Nestled on a lake in a quiet neighborhood, the house is very cute and comfortable. June is very responsive and helpful!

  • We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Old Lyme. June's cottage is lovely and perfectly located for beautiful walks, restaurants and shops. We love it!

  • 2nd time staying at June's - such a lovely time, as always. Hate saying goodbye!

    Brigid2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy and welcoming home for the weekend! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was nothing short of amazing! From waking up and having breakfast by the pond in the screened in porch to enjoying a drink and watching the sunset we wouldn’t change a thing about this trip! June is such an amazing host from her hospitality to her tips and guide of the area! She really helps make your stay memorable! She filled the fridge with every day needs like water, eggs, and bread. And was kind enough to leave snacks like chips and more! She was extremely accommodating when we asked for an earlier check in time and even stopped by to show us how to use the beautiful pellet stove in the living room! This cozy bungalow is perfect for a couple for a nice fall/summer/and winter getaway! Thank you so much for everything June we can’t wait to come back and stay again!!

    Lexi2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • June's lake side cottage was cozy and charming. It was just large enough to feel comfortable for two people and also small enough to encourage great conversation and friendship all weekend. The lake was gorgeous (we stayed in mid/late fall) and we had a lovely time poking around Old Lyme and East Lyme. Thanks again, June!

    Emily2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • June’s bungalow is so charming and cozy. In a fantastic location close to great towns with things to do and restaurants. You can also spend the day out on the pond with boats. We brought our corgi who had a fantastic time. June was extremely easy to communicate with and ask for suggestions. 100% will be back very soon.

It's a great space for entertaining but events must be booked in advance with an additional fee. There is also a large office area in case you might consider bringing your work with you.

  • Spent the weekend and it was such a cool space! Pam left us coffee, creamer and cookies as well as english muffins and jam in the fridge. The floors are cement so Pam has a basket of slippers on the heater for cold toes! Super comfy bed and lovely shower as well. Lots of fluffy towels, extra blankets and everything you need. The locations is really close to downtown Essex and all the sights and close to markets/grocery as well. Thanks for sharing your space with us, Pam! We had a lovely visit.

Welcome to Old Saybrook! Our apartment sits over our garage and is attached to our primary residence. It is conveniently located within walking distance to Main Street, the beach, local parks, and other town attractions. We have recently made many upgrades to the property and we're ready for guests! We look forward to sharing our home with you!
The apartment is situated above our garage and has a private entry off the driveway. Guests will need to climb a short flight of stairs to reach the living area. Adjacent to the living room is a dining area and kitchen. The bedroom is accessible at the end of the kitchen and has plenty of closet space for guests. The bathroom is accessible ONLY through the bedroom, so any guests staying in the living room will need to pass through the bedroom to reach the bathroom. The shower includes a large overhead skylight and massaging shower head. There is also a stacked washer and dryer inside the bathroom for guest use.
Old Saybrook is adorable and we are in the heart of it! Walk to main street, Harvey's Beach, Trask Park, or many other nearby locations! Guests will be provided with a beach pass for the nearby town beaches.
  • Would highly recommend! We used the apartment as a home base in town while we were visiting family. It was great to have a parking space off the road. Everything in or near town was less than a ten minute drive. Check in was a breeze and the apartment is beautifully kept. We really enjoyed the cozy space and found it perfect for two adults. We really enjoyed the tea that was provided and some of the other amenities. It was nice to have space/drawers to unpack a little. We will definitely plan on trying to stay here again when we return to town for future visits!

Adorable 1800 cottage with views of the CT River. Upstairs bedroom with a king. Bathroom with a tub and a tiny kitchen. Other room is used as an office but has a queen pull out bed. Watch the Essex steam train, Becky Thatcher riverboat, or hang out at the river, bring your kayaks or paddleboards as there is a boat ramp right across the street.
This cute cottage was built in 1800. It is across the street from the Connecticut River and provides you with a plethora of fun things to do if you like to paddle! The area is great for just walks or hanging out and relaxing or discovering small New England towns.
Our neighborhood rocks! You can watch the steam train the Riverboat, swim or paddle in the Connecticut River. You can take a long walk in the woods or into town, there are restaurants and bars, grocery store, anything you really want is in Deep river.
  • Andrea's place is really charming and with many personal touches. It's the perfect getaway located in a quiet small town that has managed to preserve it's identity over the years. The CT river is only 2 min walk from the front door with lots of places to explore nearby.

  • Beautiful Town location and eating venues. Gracious host

    Brian2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a cozy riverside getaway, with a location handy to local towns and great restaurants.

    Janine2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a cute place! The quiet seclusion was just what I needed for this trip. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cozy. The bathroom was a little small, I found myself ducking out of fear, I'm 5'9, but it was fine. I liked the antique feel to the kitchen utensils.

    Ricky2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cottage right across the street from a beautiful river. I saw an amazing sunrise and a beautiful full moon over the water. I appreciated the fresh eggs! Spent some time at the Nest coffee shop which was cozy and tasty. A good place to stay for some quiet introspection.

    Julie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful location! Looking out the kitchen sink window you have a view of the river. Cottage is located on a quiet street. Close to Deep River’s downtown. We enjoyed our stay.

    Brittney2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I love this cottage, and the area around it. If you’re wanting a space that’s relaxing and yet close to things to do, stay here! Andrea took care of making my stay as easy as walking into my own home. And enjoy the local restaurants, too, especially The Nest coffee house!

    MaryAnn2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy cottage steps away from the owners home with landscape tranquility in raised beds, stone walkways, patio area, and views of the river. This quiet location in historic Deep River was refreshing and restorative with basics needed to enjoy our stay.

Hawks Nest Beach is a quiet, serene natural setting. The residents of our beach community are respectful and courteous toward each other and toward all visitors.
  • This is a perfect beach cottage. It is not a fancy house but if you want to be on the beach this is great. We had 2 small children 4 and 1 years old who just loved the beach and so having the beach right out the back door was perfect. There is no air conditioner but when the temps soared fans were helpful. The bedrooms were small but serviceable. Again, the beach location is perfect and private. Nice little community with friendly people and a shop with ice cream and beach items. The WiFi was not reliable and we had problems with our phone reception. FYI The Verizon phone worked better here than ATT. if you have little children, this house is great. They can be napping and adults can be out by the beach and still hear them!

    Nancy2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so very nice! Walking out of the back door right on to the beach, you cant beat it! It is very spacious too. I was with my spouse and baby, but there were two bedrooms that went unused and we could have had four more people in there easy. The kitchen was great and had everything we needed. Elly was such a great host. Easy to communicate with. And she went above and beyond. For instance, we did not catch that there are no towels provided by the host, but Elly brought us some anyways. She definitely did not need to do this, and it just goes to show how gracious and kind she is. Thanks Elly! Would definitely recommend this place to friends. Hope we can come back some day!

  • Relaxing spot. Great for all ages.

    Linda2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for the summer, a little cold in the fall but over all Elly was fantastic, she answered promptly and addressed majority of the concerns quickly and efficiently.

    Lauren2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage right on the beach. Situated perfectly for sunrise views and beach campfires at night. The cottage had everything we needed for a great beach weekend. Good communication with Elly. Easy check in. Will be back again. Recommend!

  • A cozy, sweet little cabin apartment in a rustic setting, perfect for a weekend away. My girlfriend and I loved it David was very welcoming and made sure he did what he could to make our stay the best.

    John2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • David's home was beautiful and much bigger than the pictures show. He was great with communication and even helped us when we got a bit lost on the way. Couldn't recommend this place more highly, we had a wonderful time!

    Caitlin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very cool, an old stable that has been renovated. Very peaceful location, but close to Old Saybrook restaurants and cultural sites. Our host, David was very nice and accommodating.

    Sarah2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay ! The barn was so cozy on a cold November weekend, David was very responsive and the place was beautiful. Loved the remnants of its horse barn beginnings but with modern amenities, even a heated shower floor! Would definitely come back!

    Eileen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

    Vlad2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing. The photos don't show the size of the place. The main area is open concept, but it has a good sized living room with a very comfy couch, a full study area, a full kitchen, a dining area and an extra little nook or two. The bed in the separate bedroom is very comfotable. And finally, the bathroom... so fancy and modern. Out of all the airbnb's we have stayed in this is by far the fanciest and most elaborate. The host is sweet, helpful and extremely responsive. We are definitey planning on coming back.

Great location, walk to town & only steps to the Connecticut River. Great for train aficionados- you can watch and photograph the famous Essex steam train in action. This historic factory built in 1874 has manufactured sails, metal objects and lastly Lace. Enjoy your private comfortable apartment with river views and deck.
This private apartment overlooks the Connecticut River, Essex steam train and Becky Thatcher Riverboat. It is part of an old factory. You have your own private entrance and deck.
Our neighborhood is awesome, the river is right across the street we get to see everybody because they walk their dogs down here. There is a park across the street -you might be lucky enough to be there on a concert night. You can walk into town it's less than a mile away. This building is an event venue. Olyvia2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was everything Andrea said it would be and more. The location is spot on for a great little get away at any season. You're not far away from town yet Andrea's place is off the beaten path. It reminded me of a little get away to the New England country side. The old steam train and the local ferry dock area right outside your front door added a picturesque charm to Andrea's place. My 11 year old daughter and I plan to visit again in the near future. Andrea is an amazingly accommodating host. She went out of her way to make our stay the absolute best getaway ever. We recommend you check out the little gem in CT if you can. It'll be worth it and then some.

It has been renovated and comes with a queen size pull out with a 4" topper. There is a refrigerator and keurig coffee- fruit and pastries are included for breakfast, not a full breakfast. • I would highly recommend Mary’s guest house!! As a host, Mary went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. She provided wine, cheese/crackers, fresh fruit and juice, coffee, pastries, beverages, and the list goes on! The pullout sofa was surprisingly so comfy with a memory foam top, plush pillows and AC. Everything was also super clean. The location was great being located in Old Lyme with a cute country store down the road with homemade foods and anything else you would want. I would definitely stay again! The pool was still open which made for an even more relaxing stay. The backyard where the guesthouse is located is beautiful and zen. We will be back!!

  • Mary was a wonderful host! She had home made cookies waiting for us upon our arrival and the guest house was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

  • A truly Five Star experience.

    Gregg2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Mary's place driving through this beautiful landscape, pulled up the driveway into this charming house. The pool house is in the back through this exquisite garden that's very well kept. The pool looks magnificent and speckless. We were greeted by the host who was friendly and happy to have us there. The pool house itself is marvelous. It has all the amenities needed. A mini fridge, table chairs, big closet, bathroom with shower, queen bed and glass sliding door over looking the pool. Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated. There was special attention to detail and everything was very thoughtful. We absolutely loved our experience in this place!! The host very kindly left us a bottle of wine, cheese and other snacks. The note left by her was a nice touch. Our night's sleep was incredible, the bed was extremely comfortable and cozy. In the morning, the Host was thoughtful to leave us breakfast outside our door. Mary went over and beyond her duties as a host to make sure we had the best stay possible! We highly recommend this place! Five stars!

    Nick2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's pool house was way more than we could have ever expected. There was a cabana next store too to sit and relax. My husband and I were in town for the weekend on business and took our bikes with us and explored breathtaking local roads, went to the Side Door Jazz Cafe, The Bee and Thistle and had an afternoon relaxing by the pool. We will certainly be back! All of the amenities and extra special touches were above and beyond. Just what we needed to enjoy the last weekend of August and summer. Thank you Mary.

    Corey2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Old Lyme, home of bayside views and historic fossil grounds! Mary’s beautiful backyard garden and pool made for a setting unlike any other in this world. Essentially, I was transported to the beautiful summer I spent in Le Grau-du-Roi in 2016. I recommend the sunset views at Liv’s oyster bar. Mary had left us snacks, beverages, and morning breakfast! I really couldn’t envision a happier paradise.

Cute ranch house. Just redone. Great spot to hang out and enjoy the Connecticut River. You can walk to town, the river, hike in the woods. Enjoy our gardens and chickens. Walk to Sunday Brunch at The Lace Factory.
    Nice space to relax.
The spot is perfect for kayakers, you can walk and put your boat in right at the river only a couple of houses away.
  • Andrea was an incredible host! My family and I came to CT last minute for a death in our family and we were in search of a quick rental that was close to family. She got back to us right away, let us rent for the same day, was so so accommodating, and let us check in early. I can’t thank her for her hospitality enough, especially during a very tough time for my family. The place had everything we needed and more and was just the coziest house. Can’t recommend staying here enough! The location is amazing & the host is a gem.

  • Wonderful quaint bungalow providing quiet serene space near Deep River Connecticut. Sparkling clean, warm and close to amenities. Andrea could not be kinder or more accommodating. Highly recommend!! Wonderful spot and value for your getaway!

  • Andrea was a great host. We appreciated being able to stay in the cozy little house. Loved walking down to the river landing which was decorated with Christmas lights, etc. Thank you.

    Constance2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place is "as advertised" The quiet location so close to the Connecticut river is fantastic. The house is well-furnished and the kitchen is supplied with everything we needed for our two week stay. Andrea was respective of our privacy while also being very responsive to our needs. Unsolicited, she arranged for our walkway and driveway to be shoveled and scraped following an ice storm, which was greatly appreciated! We will definitely check on the availability of Andrea's place when planning future visits to the area.

    Steven2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • I loved being in this pretty little home! The Sun room was an extra plus! The house had everything I needed, with a two minute walk to the CT River.

  • Very cozy stay! The bed is extremely comfortable and Holly includes a lot of little details (fresh breakfast bread, tea, coffee, local suggestions) that made the whole experience even better. Beautiful home and beautiful area. Will definitely be back!

    Erica2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described or better! Arrived on New Year's eve to warm bread and a bottle of prosecco. Bed is very comfortable - great to watch the movie filmed there during the season. Make sure you read up on the history of the mansion - very impressive. Lots of great restaurants close by - love Liv's Oyster Bar in Old Saybrook.

    Deborah2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I'd give Holly's place six stars if I could. The place is exactly as pictured. As others have noted, the bed is super comfy. There isn't a thing that Holly hasn't thought of to make your stay comfortable. Don't recall seeing this mentioned in the description, but there is a microwave, which is great if you decide to shop at the local Big Y and heat something up for dinner. Loved the banana bread that Holly left for me. Went well with my tea!

    Roberta2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful bedroom suite; very comfortable, on a lovely historic property. Short distance from I 95 and accessible to lots of great things!

    Natalie2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Holly and her husband are wonderful hosts! I had a difficult time getting the door to the room open, and they were so sweet about helping me figure it out! The beautiful room and was equipped with everything I needed during my stay, including shampoo and conditioner, COFFEE (ESSENTIAL during my Instructors Training at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center), a hair drier, silverware, mugs etc. Everything was super clean when I arrived! Their dogs are SUPER sweet and make sure to greet you upon arrival. The room was so cozy and homey...the bed was incredibly comfortable. There is a Hallmark movie that featured the beautiful house, and it's saved on the DVR in the room.

  • My New York and Boston family chose Christoph’s lovely home as a midway point for a winter birthday getaway. The house is as stunning, bright, and comfortable as it appears in the photos. It was perfect for our group. I read some reviews that stated the kitchen is well stocked but the kitchen far exceeded our expectations. Christoph was very responsive and the thoughtful touches throughout the home were impressive. The house was also super clean! We were sad to leave! Thanks again for everything, Christoph. One of the top Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had. Five stars!

    Tasha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Christoph‘s place. The house is thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The kitchen has pretty much everything you can think of - we spent quite a lot of time cooking and enjoying the space. If you stay there in winter, just make sure you bring enough layers because the house gets really cold in certain areas with all the glass. Other than that, it‘s a great place to spend a relaxing weekend with friends.

    Elisabeth2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place for my family and I. We highly recommend it and the location was perfect.

    Alana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful, super clean and comfortable, and conveniently located while still being private. Chris is extremely responsive and flexible with check-in and check-out times. Overall 10/10 experience.

    Ramsey2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This glass house is a peaceful getaway in a beautiful secluded setting, but closer to the highway, beach, and shopping than we expected. Chris was a great communicator before and during our stay, was non-intrusive yet available if we needed anything - as well as Laurence the sweet and kind property manager! Their home is comfortable, with an incredibly well supplied kitchen, windows everywhere, comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. It made for the perfect setting for our group of 3 couples to ring in the New Year! We used the fireplace constantly for warmth and cozy atmosphere, with plenty of room in the newly renovated kitchen for group prep and cooking, places for us to eat, relax, play games and hang out in comfort. Everything is just as pictured. Chris is so attentive and personable - too bad he couldn't arrange for snowfall to complete the perfect January escape ;-). We will definitely be returning!

  • Victor and Sandra’s place is beautiful, well appointed, peaceful and very clean. We didn’t see each other much as I was coming and going for a wedding but we did have a brief conversation on Friday night and they were very sweet and friendly. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

  • Private beach was beautiful. Convenient, short walk from cottage. Great location, minutes from restaurants and stores . Adequate parking , enclosed porch a bonus. Very comfortable furnishings and the AC worked well. This was a short 4 day beach vacation for 2 adults. This place is perfect for that . Longer stay may have been more of an issue as no washer / dryer. But for a long weekend getaway it’s ideal !

  • Great hosts and a lovely historic home

    Thomas2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent gem--somewhat spooky at night though!

    Luca2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Candice and Adam are probably my favorite ever hosts. They were so kind and friendly from start to finish of our stay and were super cool. They renovated this property on their own and should win an award for all of the little and big touches that they have put in. It’s gorgeous. So unique and fun to stay in such a historic home. They were beyond welcoming and the room was beautiful. Very comfortable and decorated with such finesse. Essex is also such a lovely little town...we loved it. Candice has her own shop including organic natural products...one of which we purchased and it did exactly what she said it would. They also recommended a restaurant that we loved in Chester. I’m so glad we stayed. I’d recommend staying year round. An experience we won’t soon forget. Thank you so much, Adam and Candice. Hope to come back soon!

    Jackie2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Candice and Adam’s place is charming and excellently located for downtown Essex. I’d absolutely recommend staying with them.

    Wendy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is what an Airbnb experience should always be -- quick responses, a warm welcome, a stylish stay, perfect little touches. Candice & Adam were flexible with my ever-changing arrival time, there were just-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies in their gorgeous kitchen as I walked in, and the room was just as advertised -- beautifully appointed, really stylish and spacious bedroom with organic linens on a really comfy bed, and the beautiful bathroom had all the perfect little touches... antique fennel toothpaste anyone?! They gave me some great recommendations as to where to have dinner and then where to explore the next day, and upon departure, I stopped in to their little shop where again, everything was adorable and hip and chic. Thank you, Candice & Adam, and adorable Cash too (!) and I wish you all the best with your new house! **P.S. Candice used to own a bakery and her cookies were the BEST I ever had!!

    Leah2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming location, the hosts are incredibly friendly, the rooms are clean, and comfortable. This historic venue is worth staying at!

    Seth2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • It's going to smell so good every time you walk into a room! The mattress quality far exceeded any airbnb I've stayed in before which was an unexpected delight. Everyone is right in their raves about the treats. If Candice is around, expect to be spoiled!

  • What a great way to renovate a carriage house! It both looks and feels great! We loved talking to the ponies. We loved all the sightseeing and restaurant suggestions. We loved all of the little personal touches such as the great bag of coffee beans! We will be coming back for sure Thank you!

    Leslie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and the sweetest ponies!! Check in was so easy and the place was huge especially for the price. I felt so safe too. Location is definitely higher end and kid friendly. Carol was so kind too and was there for anything. Will 100 % be returning in the future!!

    Jared2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Carol’s carriage home for our friend’s wedding nearby. There were six of us (three couples) and each of us enjoyed our stay very much. The place is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The coffee Carol provided and the coffee maker there were amazing. I would highly recommend this place for anyone.

    Ching2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures made Carol's place look amazing so our expectations were high, but I'm delighted to report that reality exceeded our expectations. The property is spacious, private, and well kept. The carriage house has been tastefully and intelligently renovated with quality materials, no cob job to throw something on Airbnb. The place is absolutely immaculate and has all the comforts (and necessities) of home including a laundry room! The bedroom suite downstairs with the dual bunks is huge and just plain fun. It's great for adults but if you're traveling with kids they'll think you booked the place just for them! The upstairs bedroom is also spacious and quite comfy. We had the whole family there (6 adults, 2 children, 1 infant) so 2 of us also slept on the incredibly comfortable sofas. We prepared all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen, the dining room table is large, and the living room is huge too. There are 3 AC units but our weekend was pleasant enough to just open the numerous windows and use the AC minimally. There's a little back deck, a nice back yard for the kids to run in, and the horses not only like to be fed but are quite friendly and love to be visited. The crowning touch is Carol. She is not only responsive but warm. Not putting-on-the-hostess-persona warm, but genuinely friendly. Clearly she enjoys this and the people that visit her property. I truly feel that I not only have a place for my family to stay when we visit the area now, but that I have a friend Lyme. If you're looking for an amazing place to stay in this area, I have no hesitation recommending that you look no further.

    Mike2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, serene spot! Very clean and comfortable. Carol’s coffee is also outstanding. Highly recommend!

  • Tim's cottage is located near the Harvey beach, it takes about 5 minutes drive. The cottage is cosy and quaint, away from New York bustle and perfect for a small family. The kitchen was well furnished and there were small personal touches which made the place welcoming. We will definitely stay again if we go back to Old Saybrook for another weekend getaway.

  • This was our second stay at Meghan’s cottage. Meghan is a great and thoughtful host. On our first visit, we accidentally left something there. This visit, it was prominently waiting for us. Thank you again for that Meghan. In our previsit messages I mentioned our interest in using the fireplace, and it was nicely set up for easy use for us. The cottage is really well located down a super quiet street. Cleaned to a very high standard, very comfortable, and a simply wonderful view out the showcase window in the living room. This is a lovely place to stay.

    Aaron2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The ad for Meghan’s rental set the bar high but the home exceeded my expectations. The view, the spacious property and the layout/amenities of the cozy cottage as well as the warm hospitality were just wonderful.

    Tom2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely charming, it was a perfect setup for our family with a small baby. The location on the water is great and it is easy to get to various spots around town. We would definitely come back again.

  • What a lovely place to stay in Old Saybrook. Location can not be beat. Comfortable and lovely small home, perfect for the three of us. Meghan was a very good communicator and answered any questions promptly. We used the gas grill to cook seafood outside and took nice rides on the kayaks which was a treat. Very peaceful.

  • Perfect for the overflow of family who came in for New Years. The place was decorated well and the house was overall amazing. Holly was wonderful and very responsive.

    Betsy2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb provided the large and private space for our family that we were looking for. The hosts were friendly and eager to make our stay comfortable. The house is incredibly large, historical and breathtaking in many ways. We enjoyed several long morning walks along quiet roads, including one down to the town landing on the Connecticut River. We would stay here again.

    T. Michael2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Two night stay seemed too short, as we were in town for a wedding at the B&T Inn this weekend. Everybody loved the banana bread! Barking Chester got most belly rubs and quiet Annabelle is also loved by everyone of us because we have a GSD at home. Figured out how to watch the movie just before we checked out and we will get a DVD to see 3rd floor in the movie. To my experience if you fixed your eyes long enough on the hutch with glass doors, the bunnies would open the locked doors. Please go over and find out what I talked about. Greatest host by Holly and Berry, and Jack! Thanks!

    Alfred2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Historic, beautiful mansion, the space we stayed in was upstairs within the home, possibly formerly the servant's quarters? Regardless, there is an open kitchenette / living room with a tv, three separate bedrooms with twin beds in one and two queens in the others. Entry through the front door and up several sets of stairs into the separate apartment area. Holly was great, and had two friendly dogs, Chester the 7 month old golden and Annabel the German Shepard. I'd highly recommend staying here, Holly even left some baked goodies and coffee for the morning! I stayed with my girlfriend and some of her family members, and we were arrived back later in the night without much issue.

    Christopher2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Roberto and Jacqueline were indeed Superhosts. The place was perfect with a very well stocked kitchen, lots of towels, blankets and comfortable bed. The process for checking in was very simple. The space was very nicely decorated and we appreciated the added touch of fresh flowers in the kitchen and bathroom. Highly recommend this place if you plan to do any activities in the Essex, Chester, Old Lyme area. There is an added bonus in a beautiful view down the street of a section of the Connecticut River and a nature preserve with trails in the neighborhood.

    Debbie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I stayed at The Beach House this past weekend and have a fabulous trip. The house was very clean, spacious, and in a perfect location. Roberto & Jacqueline were so kind and let us check in early and check out late with no questions asked. They stocked the fridge with cold waters which was very thoughtful. They checked in to make sure all was well. The house was close to multiple beaches and great restaurants. We spent Saturday afternoon at Soundview Beach which was a cool vibe. Sunday we took a 20 minute drive to Hammonasset Beach that was well worth it! We will definitely come back again and perhaps with another couple.

    Max2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Roberto and Jacqueline’s cottage was amazing. My boyfriend and I were in town for a wedding and we were so thankful to have our own quiet retreat. The space was bigger than the pictures made it look, and I wish I’d had time to cook - the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and spices. It was such a cute space, and peaceful. We live in Manhattan so it was a much appreciated respite from the madness.

  • Adams place was the perfect place for our family over the holiday. The layout worked for large gatherings in the kitchen with an open floor plan. Master on the first floor and a huge deck. Supplies were ample and communication was great. The location was super convenient to the highway and also grocery and other stores. Would highly recommend!

    Michele2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The space was great! Adam was a very good host and willing to help with anything we needed assistance with. There was many options of local food and attractions in a booklet provided for guests. Definitely would stay again!

  • We enjoyed a perfect getaway at April's cottage! The cottage is small but it was super cute and super clean. I overpacked because I didn't realize that April provides everything you need...pots, pans, plates, cups, coffee mugs. The location was amazing. We couldn't believe how close we were to the beach...literally about a 2 minute walk, not even. The beach was so clean, the water was clear, and the people were really nice. In the evening, we took our daughter to the carousel which is across the street, and visited the ice cream shop and gift shop. Visiting this town made me want to live there, it was so awesome. We had the pleasure of meeting April and her family, and that was also wonderful. We are already planning our next visit! We had so much fun!

  • A calm and elegant space without being fussy. You sense the presence of an artist with a delightful eye for quality and functional design. The yard and patio in summer I am sure will be a refuge with its floating white curtains and view of the gardens.

  • Candice & Adam's place is beautiful! A really thoughtful updating of a historic home. We had everything we needed in our room and bathroom. Plenty of blankets, a space heater, bathroom amenities and more. Our room faced the street but we barely heard any traffic. We were in a great location for exploring Essex. The shared bathroom wasn't an issue and we were able to juggle it with the other guests. The home was clean, calm, and smelled great! Candice & Adam were very kind hosts and were communicative about check-in and provided local recommendations. Thanks for our stay!

  • Catherine is an amazing woman accepted my sister and her family and I with welcoming arms don't expect you are going to a 2020 stainless steel house which we did not want. What we expected we received a place that was warming welcoming and not feeling we was at a hotel. I fly for a living and Catherine made us feel like we was home. Area amazing beach, bars, & local store. If your looking for a place to get away for a cute weekend or friends night or couple weekend this is where to stay. This is a family oriented place. Catherine provided I'll be back. Snacks for the kids; board games and movies. Catherine we will be returning

    Gustavo2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a nice stay. The kids loved the snacks, videos, and toys. I appreciated the cleanliness and ease!

    Jamie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean; not to far from the beach(opposite end of the street). If you enjoy quiet family time they have a supply of board games, VHS & DVD movies; I was able to put my phone away and just enjoy my stay. There are train tracks on the the end of the street but I didn’t find it to be too much! Great place for a quiet get away.

    Jasmine2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine's home was lovely. It is bigger than it looks in the pictures. It was clean, she left a snack basket which my grandchildren thought was exciting! She had board games, toys, beach supplies, a washer/dryer and more. The train is close but after a few times you get used to it. We would definitely stay there again. She left a binder with very helpful information. Sound View and other beaches are in walking distance.

    Laurie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cottage! Only about a 10 minute walk to the beach! The train does come by pretty frequently but it is not really loud at all! Owners are very quick to respond and left the place very clean with some welcome snacks and a binder of very helpful info.

    Cassandra2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to get away! They have everything you need there! The train is barely noticeable and the beach is great!

    Meghan2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Super location. Just a 5 min stroll to all the best of beach fun in Old Lyme! Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you can have great, quiet time, with your friends or family. Plently of towels, items for cooking, comfy couches and tons of games to play. The screened in porch offers a great place to congregate and relax!

    Kathrine2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The beach cottage in Old Lyme was fantastic! A nice quick walk down the road brought you right to the beach. The screened in porch was a delight during the cool night hours and bedrooms gave a very nice homely feel. Highly recommended for all people who want to check out Old Lyme in the summer
